Haunted
Lightning flashed and illuminated the face of a young girl. She was sweating, her eyebrows twitching in her sleep as she dreamt. She turned over onto her other side, panting slightly.
"I promise…" the words whispered through her mind.
It was so dark…she seemed to be stuck in this place. She couldn't find out how to escape. She ran every which way, searching for some light. She felt as though she were not alone. It was him…that boy, that boy she dreamt of every night. He was there.
Who was he? She felt as though he were real, but how could he be when she only saw him in her sleep? Every night she felt him there, so close but hidden in the darkness. She knew he wanted to find her, but he couldn't in this black world. She wanted to find him as well. Sometimes, there was lightning and she could see him for just a second. He would watch her…
She was afraid of him…Yet she was in love with him.
A clap of thunder snapped Chihiro awake. She was breathing heavily, staring around her room. It was just a dream. That same dream she'd had so often for three years. She felt as though she were being haunted by this strange dream boy. Who was he…?
Chihiro closed her eyes. Soon she fell back to sleep. No dreams entered her mind. She slept peacefully.
