Notes : My second-ever attempt at a fanfiction. . I hope it's considerably better than my first one, although this is my first Tsubasa fanfic. Inspired by the song "Better Then Me" by Hinder. Written in 10 minutes, I know there's manymanymany mistakes in grammer, punctuation, spelling, et cetera. Con-crit is very welcome; flames definately aren't. This is a Slash (male/male) drabble, so if you don't like it, don't read it!
Disclaimer : Nothing is mine. Fai and Kurogane belong to Clamp.
TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
The mage and ninja had been on the balcony of their hotel room;
in the new world they'd landed in, everything had a Parisian flair to it.
Every door knob, carpet, article of clothing and wrought iron balcony had intricate curves, details and carvings.
The entire city had reminded Kurogane of the mage;
Fai's marking that he'd seen those first few moments of meeting the magus.
Those limbs that curved and bent and were sempiternal in their length.
The wispy strands of blonde hair that whirled like tornadoes in wind.
Touches and hints of ice blue, lonely, in the streets.
The city was nearly a perfect representation of Fai.
But there they were, the most mismatched couple anyone could imagine, holding each other, taking in the night life of the city.
Fai was leaning on the railing; Kurogane's strong arms wrapped tightly around the willowy mage's waist.
"When are you going to drop that mask of yours?"
It was an unexpected, although also very expected, question from the gruff ninja.
But Fai had just smiled, tilting his head to the side; his blonde hair had grown longer, and many strands fell into his eyes.
"What are you talking about, Kuro-rin?"
It was an innocent enough question, but Kurogane had known better.
He knew that the 'idiot' mage knew precisely what he was talking about; he was merely avoiding the question.
Repeating himself, "When are you going to drop that mask of yours?"
For a few minutes, Fai said absolutely nothing.
He looked towards the ground below them, then leaned into the ninja's embrace.
It could have completely missed the ears of anyone else, had it not been Kurogane he was talking to;
"Not yet.. Not yet, Kuro-rin.."
Kurogane knew he'd get no answers from the mage for the rest of the night.
Turning around in Kurogane's arms, Fai faced the black-clad ninja, and gently kissed him.
Returning the gesture, Kurogane kissed back with that same force.
And in the pale blonde's eyes, Kurogane saw that same lonliness in those blue eyes that he saw in that blue city;
It was there, but carefully hidden within all of it's wisps and curves and sempiternal limbs.
