Hello everyone, it's ReaderWarrior here, in case you didn't know, and I know you're probably all excited (hopefully) for the next chapter of My Mistborn Academia, so I'll try and keep this short.

One year ago today, I uploaded my first chapter of this story and I wanted to give all of you my thanks. From my very first follower (Bruno Zaigot), favorite (lawrence3830), and review (also Bruno Zaigot), to all the most recent ones (123favscore, mattmack, and yohanl2001).

I feel as if I've come a lot further since those days when I was trying to update tri-daily/weekly. I now have over 50 followers and over half as many favorites and reviews. So thank you. With this chapter, we also reach double-digits on chapters! Yay!

Thank you all for making me feel accepted. I know it seems petty, but it means a whole lot to me to have your support and listen to your comments. Thank you so very, very much.

Reviews:

Dragonrider314 - I cannot wait to get to that either (but there will be a few chapters, not many, in between then and now). I'm glad I made the fight scenes enjoyable, especially as most of them were renditions of what we have already seen, mainly in Midoriya vs Bakugou's case. I hope you enjoy this chapter of character interaction!

"You should have seen it! Vin was moving around like some sort of ninja, right? So she pretends to get hit by Kaminari's lightning and then uses her knives to wrap him and Jiro in the capture tape at the same time!"

Hagakure's eyes sparkled as she retold the story of Vin and Momo's success to Midoriya. After they had returned to their classroom, Midoriya soon found his way back just before school ended. Recovery Girl hadn't finished healing him, however, so his right arm was still in a sling, but Hagakure invited him to come to dinner with everyone anyways.

Initially, Midoriya declined. It wasn't until Vin offered a chance to tell him about her 'quirk' that he accepted. But before he did, Midoriya chased after Bakugou, who had decided to leave early. Vin decided to follow after him, just in case he tried anything, but instead, she learned something more revelatory.

'I got this Quirk from someone else.'

So that is what All Might did back on the beach, Vin rationalized, watching Midoriya as he wrote down notes in his journal with his left hand. He gifted his power to Midoriya somehow. But there aren't any Quirks that allow for somebody to give itself to somebody else. That itself would be a secondary Quirk. He called it 'One for All', which does sound as if it is a Quirk meant to be shared, but such a thing is impossible, right?

Well, a part of her argued, so is me being here. Or a Feruchemist-Allomancer. Or people able to survive with spikes through their brains. Or-

"Wow!" Midoriya gasped, pulling Vin out of her thoughts. He turned to her with sparkling eyes and a still-moving pen scribbling through his notebook. "How were you able to do that? Can you control magnetic fields? Or perhaps you have increased senses? That would explain how you are able to see Hagakure so well!"

Across the table, everyone's heads turn toward the Mistborn. Iida, Midoriya, Uraraka, Jiro, Kaminari, Momo, and Hagakure all looked at Vin with equal amounts of inquisition in their eyes.

"Well," Momo began, "I believe Vin said her Quirk is accessed through the consummation of metals. And that the different alloys or ores grant a multitude of abilities."

Uraraka's face squished into that resembling confusion. "Huh?"

Sighing, Vin pulled out one of her vials and set it on the table. "My 'Quirk', Allomancy, lets me burn metals into external or internal abilities. Different metals can give me different abilities. But they usually work in pairs, a metal and its alloy."

"..." The table goes silent upon Vin's revelation. Even though half of the people present knew this already, it still was just as mind-blowing as the first time. Having a Quirk that gifted its user with multiple abilities was rare, but not unheard of, but this was on an entirely new level.

"That's impossible," Iida frowns. "There is no way such a Quirk exists."

Well, you're technically right, Vin thinks.

Midoriya begins to flip through his notebook. "I've never heard of a Quirk like that. To have so many different abilities branching from so many different triggers makes your Quirk almost unbeatable."

"It does have its drawbacks," Vin mumbles. Some part of her argued with her for a moment, pleading for her not to tell them about Allomancy's weaknesses.

I can trust them.

No, you can't.

Jiro heard Vin's muttering and asked, "what do you mean?"

Vin looked up at her and saw the curiosity in her eyes. The kindness was easily apparent within them. Within all of them.

"Allomancy only works on a few metals. And not all of them are useful for combat."

Momo's eyes widened. "Pewter and tin. Steel and iron. Copper and bronze. Zinc and Brass. And duralumin, correct?"

"Yes."

Before she could explain more, a man with four arms, a fish head, and green, scaly skin bumped into their table, his enormous belly barely hidden in his already-stretched shirt. "Okay," he starts, placing down a tray. "I've got two large orders of grilled teriyaki with sauces on the side. Three small platters of sushi, no wasabi on one of them, a small bowl of broccoli-beef, and a salad." The plates are quickly sat down on the table and passed around to the students.

"That's mine."

"Pass it over here."

"Is this yours?"

"Careful, the plate is hot."

"Ouch!"

"Sorry!"

"I'll take some of that."

Smack!

"I guess not…"

When everyone was situated again, Vin resumed her explanation between taking bites of the tear-e-yak-e(?). Using her knife, she dipped it into a sauce and started drawing on her napkin.

"Mostly, the Allomantic metals can be put together into groups of four. The physical metals, iron, steel, tin, and pewter, all give powers relating to physical abilities. However, they are divided into internal and external metals as well. Iron and steel, externals, allow me to push and pull on metallic objects by throwing my weight against them."

Midoriya's hand was already moving, copying down every word Vin said.

"So that's how you were able to fly," Hagakure gasped, a small stain near where her lips would be. "You push yourself up and away from the metal walls or towards them!"

"Yes," Vin nods.

Without stopping, Midoriya asks, "do you throw your weight or your mass?"

Vin frowns, "what do you mean?"

Surprisingly, Uraraka answers. "Weight would depend upon gravity, while mass doesn't."

"Weight, then," Vin guesses.

"Then what would happen if Vin 'pushed' on one of her discs after being touched by Uraraka then?" The group looked up at Kaminari, who was trying to stuff three sushi rolls into his mouth at once. "What?" he asked. "Just because I'm dumb if I use too much lightning doesn't mean I wasn't able to get good enough grades to get into UA. I'm not Kirishima!"

Somewhere, a redheaded boy sneezed as he landed a hit on his punching bag.

The group laughed for a moment. "Nah," Jiro teased. "You're definitely dumber."

"Aww c'mon!"

Another bout of laughter shook the table. Even Vin couldn't help but smile softly.

"Honestly, I don't know," Vin answered, turning to Uraraka. "Your Quirk negates gravity, making me weightless. So I guess, even if I Pushed against a pin, I would still be sent backward, since it weighs more than me. Can you control the level of gravity you suppress?"

Uraraka shakes her head. "Not yet. I can specify what I want to affect, a person's clothes or the person themself, but haven't been able to reach that level. I want to control my motion sickness first."

"Hm," Vin thinks. "If you could control the effect, I'd recommend not releasing everything all at once. Maybe try rolling your body? This way you can trick it into moving as you return to normal?"

Uraraka ponders this for a moment. "That might work! Thank you!" She makes a move to hug Vin, but the Mistborn scoots away.

"No problem," Vin responds.

"What about me?!" Hagakure asks, waving her hand (with her chopsticks now seemingly floating in the air). "What can you do to help my Quirk?"

"Wait," Jiro interrupts, "I want to know more about Vin's first. That's just two of the metals. What about the others?"

Midoriya raises his pen. "I-i-i'd like to hear more about Allomancy too!"

"As do I!" Iida chops, this time with a knife to cut a slice of meat.

"The other two physical metals are pewter and tin," Vin resumes. "These are internal metals. Pewter strengthens my body while tin heightens my senses. I'm almost always burning pewter but I rarely use tin anymore."

"Why is that?" Momo inquires.

Vin holds up her hands and presses them together. "It has to do with pushing and pulling. I'm pulling sounds, smells, tastes, feelings, and other things into me at a greater rate than usual. But-" she slaps her hands together, creating a loud clap, "-that also leaves me open to other attacks."

Nodding, Jiro begins to twirl her earlobe-jacks around her finger. "I know how you feel. I'm always worried about a loud sound as I'm using my Quirk. It's like having an amp go off right next to you. Or that really old sound of dial-up internet blasting at full volume." Everyone except Vin shivers at the thought.

The more I hear about the internet, the worse it sounds.

"Anyways," Vin continues, "the next four metals are classified as mentals."

"I guess it is kinda crazy," Kaminari mutters, earning an elbow to the ribs from Jiro.

"Zinc and brass, the external metals, allow me to riot or soothe a person's emotions."

"WHAT?!" Everyone snapped.

"You can control people's minds?" Midoriya gasped, his pen now reaching new speeds. "Fascinating!"

"No, no, no." The Mistborn shook her head. "I can make a person feel something. It's no different then…" Smiling, she remembered the words Breeze spoke to her about using Soothing people. "'What is a man doing when he seeks the affection of a young lady? He is trying to manipulate her to regard him favorably. What happens when two old friends sit down for a drink? They tell stories, trying to impress each other.'

I'm just aware of it. It's no different from wearing certain clothes to a ball or an interview. If I Riot or Soothe too much, I could be noticed. And if I don't push enough, the effect I am working towards will not bloom. It's not 'mind control', it's a nudge." Vin chuckled. Hammond would have loved this. He enjoyed arguing the effects of Allomancy in the legal system.

"That is… Just wow." Uraraka states with a slack jaw.

Kaminari nods, slurping a slice of teriyaki down with a loud gulp. "Your Quirk is downright broken."

Blushing, Vin reaches for her mistcloak, yet feels nothing but air. It was her hero costume, so she wasn't allowed to take it home. Yet.

Maybe this was a mistake. I shouldn't have told them. I shouldn't have come-

A hand wraps itself around Vin's shoulder, causing the Mistborn to jump. "Are you okay?" Hagakure asks.

Vin looks up at her. "I'm just… not used to this."

"Talking?"

"No," Vin shakes her head. "Nevermind."

"Physical and sensory enhancement, mineral manipulation, and emotional control," Midoriya lists, reading off of his page. "What else could you have?"

"The internal mental metals are next, correct?" Momo asked.

Vin nods. "Copper and bronze. Copper hides Allo-, er, Quirk-related pulses and bronze lets me hear them."

Across the table, Iida frowns. "Pulses? What do you mean by that?"

Damn, I forgot these metals are closely tied to Allomancy, not Quirks. "Well," she begins, "when a person activates their Quirk, it releases a pulse of… energy. With bronze, I can detect the pulses."

"So you could hear it when I used Earphone Jack?" Jiro asked.

Vin shook her head. "I can't hear pulses from Mutant-type Quirk users. But I did hear Midoriya's and Kaminari's."

"Can you hear specific pulses for different users? Like a thumbprint? Or does bronze only allow you to sense a person's quirk, not analyze it?" Pulling out an entirely new notebook, Midoriya begins copying the image of the Allomantic chart Vin drew.

"Each pulse is specific to the Quirk, but some are similar."

Midoriya nods. "Like speed Quirks. They are different but also related."

"Yes."

"What about Quirks that are passed genetically with an almost perfect match?" Iida asked. "My brother and I have the same Quirk, would our 'pulses' match?"

Vin shrugs. "I don't know. Maybe?"

"And copper hides your pulses?"

"Yes. But also no." Vin sighs and nibbles on the back end of her fork. "Copper releases what is called a coppercloud. It creates a bubble around me negating all pulses in the area. You can't Seek within one."

"Seek?" Uraraka asks. "Oh! You mean bronze."

Nodding, Vin points back at the chart she drew. "Most metals and effects have a certain terminology to it. Seeking, Smoking, Soothing, Rioting, Steel-Push, and Iron-Pulling to name a few."

"And what about the last one? It doesn't seem to follow this rule of four you've set," Momo asks.

"Duralumin is an alloy of aluminum, but it is useless. Aluminum erases all the metal reserves I have while duralumin enhances the next metal burned."

"So it's like a powerup?" Hagakure ponders. She belches softly and quickly covers her mouth. "Sorry."

"Maybe? It uses the entire energy of that metal in one quick moment."

"What would happen if you used it on tin, then?" Midoriya asked. "How far would you hear? How detailed could you see?"

Jiro shakes her head. "She'd go deaf. That much audio would explode an eardrum."

"It did feel that way," Vin remarked, remembering her first accidental use of the metal.

"Doesn't that mean there should be two more of these metals?" Iida points out, setting down his own utensils.

Midoriya nods. "Yes. It seems like your Quirk balances your Allomancy into quadrants of four this far. Physical, mental, and now enhancement."

"Maybe?" Vin frowns. "I don't know for sure. I only recently discovered that duralumin is Allomantically safe."

Kaminari makes a gasping noise and jumps in his seat. "Hey, why don't you just swallow like every metal you can find and test them all out that way?"

"Because I could die."

"You could die!?" Hagakure repeats with a small shout.

Vin winces. "That's the worst possible scenario. I tested dozens of alloys before finding duralumin. The worst that happened was a mild migraine."

"Stop lying," Momo whispers next to Vin. "If it will hurt you, we won't do it. Nobody here will even bring it up again."

This causes Vin to pause and to take a shaky breath. "Thank you," she whispers back.

"But didn't you also say gold does something too?" Jiro notes.

Vin nods. "Yes. But I don't know what alloy belongs to it. And the only other metal I know is Allomantic, I cannot find anymore."

"What metal is that?" Momo asks. "Maybe I can help."

Unlikely, it seems to only be found on Scadrial. But what was the harm in asking for help? "Atium," Vin answered.

Iida frowns. "I've never heard of such a metal."

"It was… a special metal that someone provided for me," Vin lied.

"Then why don't you ask him for more?" Kaminari asks.

Vin pauses, trying to come up with a useful excuse. "I moved here, away from my provider. And now I can't get in touch with him."

"Aww," Hagakure sighs, placing a hand on Vin's shoulder. "I'm sorry."

In return, Vin offers a small smile. "Thank you."

"Ahem," the waiter interrupts. The occupants all quickly turn to him, who taps one of his hands against a pad while holding out a pen. "Here's the check. Please be quick, we're kind of busy tonight."

"My apologies," Iida exclaims, taking the check. "We will be on our way as soon as we can." He ignores Momo and Hagakure's attempts to take the check and places his own credit card in the billfold. "Here you are."

The waiter nods in appreciation and quickly runs off.

"That was rude," Jiro comments. "He could have just waited."

"Badum-crash," Kaminari smiles.

Iida pushes his glasses back. They catch the light for a moment and briefly shine brilliantly. "It is our duty as paying guests to respect the timely manner of our visit and allow access for other visitors to enjoy their experience at a restaurant."

"I d-d-d-don't think it's that big of a deal," Midoriya stutters, the first time Vin had heard him do so in a while.

"Then I think it is time for us to take our leave," Momo picks up her purse and drops a small pile of cash on the table as a tip. Everyone else agrees and starts packing up their things. The waiter soon returns and returns Iida's card and helps usher them out.

"Have a great night!" He bows.

"Thank you!" Hagakure replies before turning back to the rest of the party. "What now?"

Jiro shrugs. "It's getting kind of late, maybe we should all head home."

"That would be the most logical course of action," Iida exclaims. "After all, we are students of a highly prestigious school and it would be remiss of us to ignore our scholarly duties nor keep a regulated sleep schedule!"

Vin raises an eyebrow. "What?"

"He wants us to go get ready for school," Uraraka explains.

"Ah."

Kaminari stretches. "Fine, mom, but only if Vin promises to tell us more about her Quirk tomorrow."

Most of the party nods in agreement, earning a sigh from the Mistborn.

"Fine."

One by one, everyone begins to leave, offering different farewells. First Iida then Jiro. Kaminari quickly followed. Then Uraraka. Leaving Momo, Hagakure, Vin, and Midoriya.

"Where are you staying?" Hagakure asked. "Maybe we could have a sleepover someday!"

Sleepover? "Nezu is letting me stay at the school's dorms since I'm here alone."

"The school has a dormitory?" Momo asks.

Vin nods. "Apparently they have been remodeling it for the past few years. Nezu said it was to go into effect in a couple of years or so."

"Cool!" Hagakure beams. "So we could be bunkmates! That's much more fun than just hanging out!"

"I-i-i-i-i-i think I sh-sh-should go." The stuttering, green-haired boy takes a few steps backward, moving away from Vin and the others.

"Wait," Vin ordered. "We need to talk."

"With m-m-m-me?" Midoriya asked. Vin nodded, much to his dismay. "About w-w-what?"

Vin stepped towards him and leaned towards him. "Your Quirk."

Does she know? What does she know? How does she know?! Did All Might tell her? Or did someone else? Midoriya's mind raced in a few heartbeats, trying to calculate the infinite reasoning behind her words. While he froze in place, Vin turned back to Hagakure and Momo.

She muttered something to them Midoriya couldn't hear. Almost immediately, it earned her a quick hug from Hagakure. She then made her own goodbyes and ran off.

"See you tomorrow, Midoriya!"

Midoriya didn't respond, electing to continue shaking in fear.

"I'll see what I can do about your metals," Momo offers. "Maybe I'll find some new alloy for you to use."

Vin mutters a thank you before watching the high-class girl run off. Then she turns back to Midoriya.

Gulp.

She walks back up to him and stares into Midoriya's eyes.

"Y-y-y-y-yes?" Why is she so scary!?

"Your Quirk," she begins, "'Superpower' is similar to pewter."

Oh, thank goodness. Midoriya breathed a sigh of relief when he realized his secret was safe. The panic he felt moments before quickly dissipated.

"And I'm willing to help you if you tell me the truth. One for All."

Panic never left, apparently. Because Midoriya couldn't even breathe with the anxiety this strange girl was inflicting upon him.

"W-w-w-w-w-w-w-what? I-i-i-i-i-i-i d-d-d-d-don't-"

"If you lie, I won't help you," she interrupted.

As she said so, he felt a calming breath overtake him. He could trust her. She just told them about her Quirk, after all. And she hasn't-

"You used your Quirk!" Midoriya gasped. "Zinc! You're trying to make me trust you! And that night, after the preliminary exams, you did it then too!"

Vin sighed and Midoriya felt his emotions return to normal. I wouldn't have even known if she didn't tell us what her Quirk could do! That's insane! That's… That's a huge breach of privacy.

"Why would you do that? It's illegal to use your Quirk without license or permission. You could get arrested or-or-or expelled!"

"I don't care," Vin answered.

Midoriya gasped. "But… It's UA! How could you not care?"

"Because…" The strange girl looks up at the dark-purple sky. "I can't. I just can't. Not anymore." She turns back to Midoriya, and he catches his breath. For a moment, a brief sliver of a second, her eyes flashed something he'd never seen before. It was like… loss and anger at the same time but to an ultimate degree.

It made his heart ache. He needed to do something. He needed to help ease her pain, no matter what it cost him.

"I… was given this Quirk by All Might himself. And it is called One for All."

A bit of a talky chapter. Sorry everyone, but that's what I thought you'd all enjoy. Especially since Vin seems to be opening up a bit! Maybe a little? Or maybe even too much? I guess we'll have to see.

Also, there's the thing with Midoriya too…

So I guess this was kind of important XD

I want to quickly thank you all, once more, for a great year of support. It's really thanks to all of you I've been writing this far. Every time I read a comment, or get a notification that someone has followed or favorited this story, I say thank you.

Thank you so much.
