Tanya Iida, Vice Class Representative of UA's prestigious class 1A was forced to watch as a large majority of his classmates and friends disappeared before his very eyes. The purple warp villain, one of the many attackers at the USJ, had used his Quirk to send the young heroes-in-training to somewhere unknown. He felt a tugging sensation briefly, like gravity was pulling him in two separate directions.
But that feeling disappeared with the sound of a vacuum.
The excess mist rolling off the villain was pulled harshly towards Iida's left. Coughing, he looked to his side and noticed Thirteen using her Quirk, Black Hole, to pull all of the haze into her finger. With the smoke cleared, he was now able to see that only five other classmates were with him. Uraraka and Sato, whom he had grabbed and pulled away during the initial blast, and Shoji, who had used his large arms to cover and protect Mina and Sero.
All five students, as well as Thirteen, quickly grouped back together.
"Sero!" Iida barked. "Where is everyone?"
The giant's limbs grew a large assortment of ears and eyes, glancing and listening in every direction. "They are scattered and in disarray. However, it would appear nobody is harmed… yet."
"Yet?"
Landslide Zone
A small army of villains gave a loud roar as they rushed towards their newest target. The boss said to be ready for anything, so ready they were. The minute the portal closed, they all rushed forward.
However, they didn't know how badly they'd come to regret this decision.
Ice covered the ground just moments into their accent. Only one of the hero-brats had arrived, and he immediately slammed his foot onto the ground as the villains charged.
Their charge didn't last long, though. The ice that the boy summoned grew exponentially across the 'mountain' floor. Then, to their surprise, it grew over the villain's bodies, entrapping them in a cage of ice.
"How disappointing," the boy muttered, his costume a division of normal attire and ice split down the center, "that you could lose to a single child. Pull yourselves together. You're adults, aren't you?"
Ruins Zone
Bakugou immediately recognized the feeling of falling. Without thinking, he quickly spun his hands, activated his Quirk, and used Explosion to orient himself so he would land on his feet. Then, sensing movement through the purple smoke, he raised a fist and charged forward.
"DIE!"
The figure dodged and yelped. "Same team! Same team!" Kirishima activated his own Quirk, turning his forearms into stone and raising them defensively.
Eye twitching, Bakugou frowned at the boy. "Shitty hair? What are you doing here?"
"Dunno," he responded. "One sec we were fighting a villain and now we're inside some ruined building."
A voice interrupted them. "Surrounded by villains, don't forget."
Kirishima nodded. "Yup. Surrounded by villains." He froze, realizing that Bakugou wasn't the one to correct him, and quickly spun into a circle. Bakugou did the same, putting his back to his.
"Come here you damn villains!" the violent teen roared, small explosions popping off his gloved hands. "So I can kill ya properly!"
"Funny. We were going to tell you to do the same thing," the same voice snarled as a dozen villains stepped out of the shadows and stared at the two would-be heroes.

"Jiro, take this!"
Momo moved her leg back, sacrificing her stance to give the girl a better reach at her thigh. She was already creating her own weapon, a long metal pipe, when she noticed how unmatched her partner was. So, she used her Quirk, Creation, to form a smaller bat-like object for her friend. Jiro took it eagerly, brandishing the weapon in front of her.
The villains surrounding them didn't seem to care.
After falling through a portal, Momo didn't get a second to breathe when she noticed the enclosing army. Two thuds hit the ground behind her. The first was Jiro, one of the girls she had befriended since joining UA, and the second was Kaminari, the very outgoing blonde who always seemed to be with Kirishima.
"Woah!" he yelled, jumping to his feet. "We've got villains! And a lot of them!"
Jiro, after taking Momo's gift, nodded in agreement. "We can take them, right?"
"We can. And we will," Momo said, her confidence unwavering. This is what I have been practicing for. I'll prove I am worthy of the title of 'Hero'.

His tail always seemed to have a mind of its own when Ojiro wasn't focusing on it. This led to him often being unsociable and quiet. After all, if he got excited, his tail would begin to waggle, or when he was sad it would droop and drag across the ground. Such actions were not befitting that of a hero.
And it was really embarrassing.
But, as Ojiro began to fall, he was more than happy to let it act out. His tail wrapped itself around a lone flag pole, allowing for the teen to flip up and land on his feet.
Wincing, he patted his tail where it grabbed the pole. That burned! Where am I? A quick glance around and, for a moment, he thought he'd fallen into hell. Aside from the streets, everything was on fire. The buildings on his left and light were lit up by the harsh reds and oranges of flames. The heat of the fire instantly made sweat form on his brow and back.
"Into the fire," he muttered.
"Exactly, kiddo."
Ojiro whipped around, noticing for the first time that he wasn't alone. A small group of villains, all of them decked out in some sort of flame-resistant attire. "And we're gonna burn you alive."
Flood Zone
Vin gazed over the water and winced. Yes, the direct opposition would be the large number of attackers slowly encircling them, but she couldn't help but shake the unease of the deepness of their aquatic surroundings.
Once again, Vin was unprepared for this world. Swimming was never something she had time to enjoy. The canal routes were well guarded against those attempting to steal from nobility and the Boiling Sea was, well, boiling. But here in this confusing world, water was plentiful and stagnant.
If only I'd brought my knives or coins, she hissed. Then I could have Pushed away from the boat. That brought her to another angry comment; why in damnation does UA spend so much on robot fights yet can't afford a real, metal boat?!
This wasn't the time for that, though. She had to focus.
"We're completely surrounded by villains with water Quirks," Midoriya frowned. His glances at her cut deeply, but she was thankful for his ability to focus on what was more important at the moment. She didn't realize such a simple act would cause such an outburst from him.
Aizawa was right.
Tsu nodded and croaked. "They must have gathered specific villains for this zone then, ribbit. Maybe they have a detailed account of what is in each zone and who to send to it."
"That would mean they had specific people in place for each zone," Vin commented. "If they were smart, they would have sent us to specific zones where we would be weakest."
"Exactly! But they didn't!" Midoriya began to pace around the ship. "In an underwater field, Asui- I mean, Tsuyu, you excel. So why would they send you here?"
"…" Both Tsu and Vin remained silent, allowing Midoriya to finish his thoughts. "Are you going to continue?"
"Oh, yeah. S-s-sorry." It was the first time Vin had heard his stutter since the attack started. However, the boy quickly recovered and continued, saying, "it's likely that they don't know who has what Quirk!"
Vin thought about this for a moment. Such an overstep seemed a little ridiculous. If she had planned this, she would have had a complete list of who had what abilities, as well as how they acted in public and how skilled they were in life-or-death situations. Damnation, she would have probably wouldn't have attacked so soon after getting the itinerary.
Perhaps they needed to attack today. Their goal seems to be related to All Might. How often would he come so far away from the school with so many potential hostages?
Midoriya nodded to himself. "Yes. And since they don't have any idea on our Quirks, they did the best they could: divide and conquer by using sheer numbers."
"Ribbit. But then that means they don't know what to expect from us. Perhaps we could use that against them?"
Vin nodded in agreement and focused on her metals. Since almost drowning, she had snuffed all other metals except pewter, using it to keep her awake and from shivering. However, her reserves of metals were fairly high.
Copper would last for a while, and there didn't seem to be a need to use it since there were no Seekers. Steel and iron were also plentiful, she hadn't used them much outside of trying to attack the purple villain. Zinc and brass had the lowest amount left, but there was more than enough to use for a few minutes. Duralumin was untouched, as it would wipe her other metals. Bronze was untouched and would remain that way, else she might have to endure the multitude of Quirk-pulsations. That left tin and pewter. The latter would run out soon, while the first was almost untouched. It was too difficult to use it in this world with its bright lights and loud noises.
But slowly, a plan began to form in her mind. And as she studied Midoriya's face, she had the feeling he came to the same conclusion. However, there was still one missing piece.
"They haven't tried to board the ship yet, so I think I'm right. But we need to escape quickly before their confidence grows. Vin-," Midoriya turned to her, his eyes flickering down to avoid eye contact, "-do you think you can fix that?"
Vin nodded.
"Good. But it also means they won't be letting their guard down. Tsuyu, what exactly does your Quirk allow you to do?"
The frog girl placed a finger against her cheek. "Well, I can leap fairly high and climb up walls. My tongue can extend up to twenty meters. Also, I can regurgitate my stomach - it's lined with a poisonous substance that causes tingling if you touch it. And, if I need to, I can secrete it too."
Both Midoriya and Vin tried to hide a look of disgust at that little tidbit.
"And mine," Midoriya coughed, "is that I become extremely strong, but it can break my body. Think of it as… a glass cannon. But I'm working on getting it under control."
Elend would have enjoyed that analogy, Vin thought. However, she quickly regained her focus and gave a brief synopsis of her powers as well. "I can swallow certain metals to gain different abilities. But I only have reserves from what I swallowed before we left the school."
"Okay… Tsu, how far can you jump?"
The frog-girl shrugged. "Maybe ten meters? Possibly fifteen. It depends on-"
Suddenly, the entire ship shook violently. The three classmates stumbled and Vin swore. They all rushed to the railing, seeing now that a few stray villains had broken the perimeter and used their Quirks to smash another hole in the ship.
The artificial sinking ship suddenly became very real.
"Let's end this already!" one of them shouted.
Midoriya turned to Vin and gave her a sharp nod. Putting together the plan in her head, she mentally grabbed ahold of her metals and burned zinc and brass. The feelings of her enemies became hers to control.
They were already afraid, worried about what these so-called 'Heroes' could do. Vin rioted that fear, making them more paranoid. Then she smoothed away their confidence. It was already waning, those who hired them were not the trustworthy sort. It would be easy to make them turn against their masters if Vin had the time to be precise.
But she was on a sinking ship with very little time.
No time for finesse!
Storm Zone
Darkness. The light fading. In time, this is how all life shall be.
"Hey, man. No need to be so depressing all the time."
Tokoyami sighed, his cloak falling into place as he hit the ground. His partner and Quirk, Dark Shadow, had once again formed without his consent, commenting on his monologue.
Dark Shadow chuckled. "Monologue? Your thoughts are always like that. 'Oh, I'm the reincarnation of a magic prince, destined to avenge my assassinated family and I'll never find love due to my mission.' What an edge-lord."
Rolling his eyes, Tokoyami did a quick scan of the area. It seemed to be a reconstruction of a city block at night. Night lamps were alight, giving the area an unearthly glow.
"To-to-Tokoyami?" a voice whimpered, causing him to spin around. His eyes quickly focused on the figure of one of his classmates hiding behind the corner of a building. Though his large frame was pretty well hidden in the dark, Tokoyami easily recognized Koda's rock-like figure.
"It is I, Kouda," he greeted. "Were you warped here with me?"
The shy giant nodded. "Where are we?"
Tokoyami looked around. "I would guess one of the practice arenas. It might be best if we find our way back to our classmates."
"Yes. That's a good idea.." Kouda muttered, slowly pulling herself into the light. However, she quickly jumped back as the sound of thunder boomed and rain began to pour.
"Hmmm." The bird-man's beak formed into a frown as he glanced upwards. "I think we are going to be attacked."
"No shit!" Black Shadow cried. "And here I thought you were some dark prince, not Captain Obvious!"

"It sounds like everyone is safe for now. However, they are dealing with their own set of obstacles," Shouji relayed. "It's difficult to tell who is where with the different buildings and the fighting."
Iida nodded. "Thank you. If we can just get some help, I'm sure that the Pro's can handle this." He turned towards the purple villain and glowered at him. "All we have to do is defeat him."
"No!" Thirteen yelled. "His Quirk allows him to warp himself and others, but also keeps him intangible as long as he wants to." She turned to Iida. "Vice-President, I am entrusting this to you. Run. Run as fast as you can back to the school and tell them what is happening. Somehow the alarms never triggered and our mobile communicators have lost reception. Our alarms operate by infrared rays, yet even with Eraserhead canceling the villain's Quirks, they still have not come online. It's likely that whoever's Quirk is keeping them from activating hid immediately as they arrived.
"So, in order to smoke them out, you must rush back to the school and inform them of the situation!"
Iida gasped. "But Ma'am! It would be a disgrace to the class if their class leaders abandoned them in this time of need!"
However, Sato grabbed him by the arm and pulled him back. "She said to go, '' emergency exit! You can let everyone know what's going on and bring help! There's got to be a reason they planned their attack here!"
"Yeah," Sero nodded, also putting himself between Iida and the villain. "That means they won't stop you once you make it out. So use those legs of yours and leave that purple mist in the dust!"
"It'll be just like during lunch," Uraraka added.
Mina gave a sharp nod and acid began to form from her fingertips. "We'll support them until you get back."
"You're our best hope, Vice-President!"
His body shaking, tears began to form in Iida's eyes. He nodded sharply and let out a deep breath before getting on his hands and knees, ready to run. "Ready!"
The villain gave a low chuckle. "I may in fact be unable to stop him. However, I find it surprising that a Pro-Hero would be willing to let their opponent hear their plan."
"Isn't it obvious?" Thirteen asked, their hand lifting up as every cap on her finger detached. "We let you hear our plan because it doesn't even matter if you know!"
Ruin Zone
Kirishima panted heavily as he slammed another attacker into the ground. After taking out the heavy-hitters, he had stopped relying on his Quirk for defense and began using his brute strength to incapacitate the villains. Every moment, every situation, can be used as a teaching moment.
So, here and now, Kirishima learned what a real fight is. He dodged and weaved, grabbing arms and tossing them to the side. Or he would simply slam his fist into their faces. That seemed to get the job done.
He wouldn't say he was precise, but Bakugou was definitely a monster.
The boy's Quirk blew back every single villain who tried to get near him. Bakugou was savage, giving little care for the bodies that got flung into walls nor for the ones he tossed through the window (however, from the groans he heard, Kirishima was pretty sure they survived).
With one last blast, the last of their opponents fell. "Man, they were weak," Bakugou gasped. Even he was out of breath.
Kirishima nodded and whipped some dirt off his face. "Yeah. C'mon, we gotta go save the others. Since we only got warped to another part of the USJ, then it's likely so did they. I'm worried for our classmates who don't know how to fight yet."
He looked down at his hands and slammed his fist into a wall. "It's our fault this happened! We rushed forward and made Thirteen act like a rearguard instead of letting her deal with the situation. If she was up front, she could have sucked up the mist. We need to take responsibility like men."
"If you wanna go, go by yourself," Bakugou said.
"Hah?!" Kirishima gasped at the boy's cold attitude and stomped toward him. "Why now of all times are you going to act like a little brat? We can't even use physical attacks on him."
"Shut it! He's the only way for the villains to escape, so when shit gets real I'll just use Explosion to keep him stuck somewhere. There's no way he's invincible."
Kirishima was dumbfounded by the utter bravery coming from the boy's mouth. However, before he could respond, one of the villains began to rise to his feet and charge forward.
"Like he'd ever give you the chance to find out!" the villain yelled, pulling out a knife. Kirishima reached forward to push Bakugou away but was too slow.
Moving faster than both villain and hero, Bakugou used his Quirk to spin in a circle. Then, with his ungloved hand, he grabbed his attacker's head and shoved him into the cement floor.
"After all, if he thought these dirtbags could take us, then he's not as smart as he seems."
Stunned, Kirishima couldn't help but contrast his usual self with this new version. "Is that why you're so calm?"
Bakugou's teeth gnashed as he snapped, "I'm always calm stupid hair-for-brains!"
Ah, there it is.
"So just stay here while I go deal with these asshats," Bakugou snarled, making sure his gauntlet was secure.
Kirishima Hardened his hands and smashed them together. "You're starting to sound real manly, Bakugou! I'm with you!"
Landslide Zone
"So… your plan was to scatter us across the USJ and pick us off one-by-one? I'd be impressed if you weren't all idiots who don't know their Quirks from their rear ends."
Todoroki sighed, letting out a puff of visible air. The Landslide Zone, once reflecting a rockslide, now looks like the peak of Mt. Fuji. Ice covered the entire ground and the crunch of snow was audible as he moved closer to one of the dozen ice sculptures surrounding him.
They weren't statues, though. They were the villains who thought they could take him. Instead, Todoroki used a similar attack to what he used in All Might's class. But this time he didn't hold back. The ice flew up with very little warning and quickly entrapped them, freezing them in place.
"You little shit," one of them growled, "when we get out of here-!"
The student ignored him. All the other 'villains' were uttering similar cries. However, a few were complaining about losing to a child. Todoroki walked up to one of his trapped victims.
It seems they thought they could overwhelm us due to their numbers. And they thought that it would be easy to defeat us and then use us as hostages. However, from what I saw, there only seem to be four actual threats.
He sighed and sat down, facing a frozen villain. "At this rate, you will succumb to frostbite and necrosis. And since I am aiming to become a Hero, I want to avoid causing horrifying disfigurement. So tell me, what is your plan to kill All Might?"
Again? Why?!
Hagakure shivered in the cold. After falling through the villain's portal-thingy, she had landed on a bush that broke her fall. The invisible girl groaned and looked around. Judging by the terrain, she had landed on the top of the landslide zone. The view was almost spectacular if it wasn't for the approaching bad guys.
Stifling a yelp, she quickly tossed off her boots and gloves, rendering them completely invisible to normal people. However, this also meant a potential ally didn't see her either.
With the same demeanor he portrayed everywhere, Todoroki met the challengers head-on. Luckily, she knew what to expect. The temperature dropped suddenly and Hagakure quickly ran into one of the half-crushed cars littering the zone. She shivered as ice crept across the windows and rubbed her arms when her breath started to become visible.
Why can't I catch a break? she asked nobody as she struggled to kick the door open. The ice must have frozen the door tight.
"But-"
Bam!
"My-"
Bam!
"Friends-"
Bam!
"Need-"
Bam!
"Me!"
Whoosh!
Hagakure tumbled outward into the snow as the door finally burst open. The sudden drop in temperature immediately made the girl curl up into a ball and shiver.
"T-to whatever g-god that made m-me inv-visible," she stuttered, rising to her feet, "I hate you."
Slowly, she made her way down the snowbank towards the center of the USJ. As she… reverse-climbed, she saw Todoroki kneeling in front of what seemed to be a statue. The invisible girl quickly ran towards him, hoping he'd be able to use his Quirk to keep him warm.
"Todoroki!"
The boy's head snapped around and scanned the area. However, due to the nature of Hagakure's Quirk, he didn't see anything. She then grabbed his hand, making her presence known. He didn't respond, but quickly realized what was happening and made his left side warm up.
Hagakure sighed. "Thank you!" She then stomped the ground, asking, "didn't you see me?"
"…"
"Did you at least know your attack wasn't going to hit any of us?"
"…"
"Well, that's good," Hagakure pouted. "What are you doing with-?" She gasped as she finally saw the 'statue', realizing it was, in fact, a villain encased in ice.
Todoroki noticed her gaze and moved back to the villain-cicle. "What else do you know?"
"We've scattered the entire class of heroes across the different zones," the villain whimpered. "There's about ten of us in every section."
"Anything else?"
He looked down. "I wet the bed until I was fifteen!"
Sighing, Todoroki began moving back towards the center of the dome, Hagakure in tow. "What was that?" she asked.
"Answers. I know how they plan to kill All Might."
Mountain Zone
Kaminari let out a screech as another villain swiped at him. He could feel the air around his ear as he ducked under his arm.
"That was close!" he yelled, moving back towards Momo and Jiro. "I think I saw death's door! Who the heck are these guys and what the heck is going on?"
Jiro, after hitting a villain's hand with her bat, put her back against his. "We can worry about that later. Right now we just need a plan to get rid of them!" She turned to Kaminari and pointed at him with one of her earlobe-jacks. "Aren't you electric? Just fry them already!"
You say that like we weren't teammates during the combat training, part of him complained.
"I can't!" he yelled back. "I can't throw lightning in an open space like this. And if I discharge it, you might get hit too! I've tried calling for help-" Kaminari motioned to his earpiece "-but whoever was blocking the alarms is blocking everything. I can't do anything, right now! Don't rely on me when I'm relying on you!"
Jiro sighed, mumbling, "and they say girls don't know when to stop talking." Her eyes widened and a cruel smirk formed on her lips, making him gulp. "All right then, just be our human stun-gun!"
"H-ow!" Kaminari felt his teammate's boot slam into his back, throwing him forward and into a villain's chest. In fear, he let out a large charge of electricity, causing the man to spasm. Oh! I get it. I can use them as conductors!
"All right!" he smirked. "You can count on me!" Kaminari continued to discharge hundreds of watts into his target, waiting for him to fall. He couldn't do this half-assed. He needed to make sure this guy would be down for the count.
Out of the corner of his eye, Kaminari saw another villain rushing toward him. She didn't seem all that touch, except for the fact her entire fist was shoved inside of a boulder! Accepting death, Kaminari did his best not to scream like a girl.
"Don't screw around, twerp!"
Just as her fist reached its apex, sonic vibrations slammed into it, causing the stone sphere to explode. The villain, confused, maintained her moment and her arm hit him harmlessly on the shoulder where she became an additional conductor. Like a bug-zapper, his entire body was electrified and any contact would result in joining the current.
Kaminari cast a glance at Jiro, whose's ear jacks were detaching themselves from her boots. "Thanks!"
"Just be happy that the costume guys included my idea of speakers for my Quirk to use!"
Momo, who was strangely silent during this entire fight (only making grunts and groans as she pushed against their attackers with her staff), suddenly stood up straight. "That's it! Jiro, use your speakers to give us some room."
The girl nodded and once again inserted her ear jacks into her boots. Sound immediately coursed throughout the area, causing villains to clutch their ears and run backward. "I don't think it'll hold them off for long!"
"A few seconds was all I needed," Momo responded, crouching down. The back of her outfit began to bubble before it suddenly tore. A large blanket flew upwards, billowing out before falling to the ground with a loud whoomph. "It just takes some time to make something this big."
With Jiro and Momo both now underneath the sheet, the villains began to laugh and mock the creation. "Is that supposed to protect you?"
"This," Momo explained, her voice muffled, "is a one-hundred-millimeter insulator tarp. And it's not to protect us from you!"
Kaminari smiled. "It's to protect you from me!" Finally! I get to let loose! Raising his arms, Kaminari began to discharge his Quirk, no longer holding back. "In this case, I'm super strong!" He slammed his hands down, allowing the electricity from his body to explode in every direction, zapping and coursing through every single villain around them.
As confident as she seemed, Momo worried she rushed her creation. If the tarp wasn't insulated enough, they might end up electrocuted along with the villains. But if it was too thick, she and Jiro might end up suffocating.
Luckily, the taste of iron in their mouths dissipated shortly after Kaminari's attack began. She pulled up the edge of the sheet and looked out. The spamming bodies of villains surrounding the area, electricity still sparking from some of their weapons and their hair.
"I'm worried about everyone else," Momo said, moving out from the tarp's cover and back outside. "Let's hurry back and join them."
However, Jiro grabbed her hand and blushed. "Um, you've got a pretty big tear in your costume…"
Momo looked down, just now noticing that the top half of her outfit had been torn to shreds after her creation. "I'll just make a new one," she commented, already pulling one out of her stomach and pulling it down over her chest.
I'm glad none of the boys in our class saw that, she thought. Her family had warned her that her Quirk would result in… less than modest attire. And, while she was confident in her body and had grown used to being stared upon, it was still a bit embarrassing to those of the other sex.
The two girls then pulled themselves out of the tarp. Kaminari was still standing, thankfully, but he wasn't acting like himself.
"He gets like this when he uses too much electricity," Jiro explained, sighing as he began to thrust his hands back and forth. Drool rolled down his chin and his eyes were glazed over. "His brain will be short-circuited for an hour or so."
"That's good to hear."
Momo and Jiro spun around in panic. That voice didn't come from either of them. The class president made a move to create another weapon. However, the voice told her to freeze.
"Hands up, and no Quirks allowed. Any move and I'll kill him."
The two girls follow the commands, lifting their hands up and turning slowly. The villain must have hidden behind Kaminari because he now had a hand around his throat with a finger, also bursting with harsh, green electricity, held up at their classmate's temple.
The villain, a tall man with a skull-like helmet, laughed. "It's good I'm an electric-type Quirk-user too or else I'd have been fried along with everyone else."
"Hehe," Kaminari giggled.
Jiro scowled. "He must have been waiting to ambush us when we thought they all were defeated."
"Yes," Momo whispered in agreement. "And it's likely that he is the one jamming the signal too."
"Hey! Get over here, now!"
Shuffling slowly forward, Momo's mind whirled trying to think of a plan. Perhaps… no. But maybe… no. No, no, NO! Every simulation in her mind warned her that any movement on her part could result in Kaminari being hurt or worse.
"You electric users are so lucky," Jiro commented, her voice loud enough to be heard. The villain's head tilted but said nothing. "I mean, even with an idiot like him, you could have any job in the world."
Momo glanced at her friend. "What are you-?" Her eyes widened as she saw one of Jiro's jacks slowly elongated down her back, sliding towards her boot. Oh! If she can connect to the speakers, she can launch a surprise attack.
"This might be naive of me to ask, but why become a villain? Every company in the world would love to have someone who can interfere with radio signals or charge their generators."
Suddenly, the villain's fingers began to spark with more energy, each bolt inching towards Kaminari's face. "You think I'm that stupid?! I see what you're up to. It would take an idiot to fall for such a childish trick. You heroes-in-training should take hostage situations much more seriously. If you do as I say, I'll let this moron go.
"So what's it going to be? Your lives? Or his?"
Inferno Zone
Left, left, right, duck, JUMP!
Ojiro did his best to avoid the flaming fist of another villain as they tried to smash his head in. However, their movements were all over the place. He easily dodged the attack, leaping over an attempted sweeping. As he flipped, he slammed his tail into the back of one guy's head.
Said villain fell to the ground unconscious.
Sidestep.
A brief shuffle to the right and the other villain's fist brush past Ojiro's shoulder. With his enemy off-balance, he uses his tail to push the villain a wall, hard. However, this one didn't collapse. Slowly, the villain turned around and scowled, spitting a glob of magma from his mouth.
Ojiro dropped into a tight stance, bouncing on the balls of his feet and allowing his tail to help swing his momentum. His Quirk was a simple one, he had a tail. However, it gave him an edge in movement and allowed him to further use the skills he had honed in martial arts.
Sure, Bakugou could use his Quirk in ways that nobody else could, but Ojiro's skills in unarmed combat were unmatched.
Except, maybe Vin.
The villain charged at him, pulling out two sharp knives from his back and licking them, causing them to glow a hot red. For a moment, Ojiro hesitated but he quickly steeled himself and rushed forward as well.
The villain wasn't expecting this and overshot his strike, stabbing the air where he once stood. Ojiro smirked and grabbed the villain's waist. Then, in a single motion, he leaned back against his tail, placed his feet on the villain's stomach, and kicked upwards, tossing him into the air. The man screamed and dropped his weapons to the ground (where they proceeded to melt into a molten puddle of slag).
Ojiro jumped to his feet and dusted his hands before whipping away the sweat from his brow. This fight had gone on way too long. And while he was a good fighter, he wasn't sure if he could continue to fight in this heat for much longer.
A voice howled as a shadow passed over him. Squinting, he looked up to see another villain flying through the air with flaming wings.
But I guess I can handle one more.
Flood Zone
Vin let her power flow over the villains. Luckily, they were just barely within range of her abilities. A quick Allomantic push and pull on their emotions and suddenly, they all seemed to be frozen in fear. A few of them even began to swim away - though they did still face toward the ship, still questioning their decision.
"How low are you on metals?" Midoriya asked, concerned.
Vin kept an eye on their opponents. "Enough to continue this for a few minutes. But I don't have anymore. And without Momo…"
"Okay," Midoriya nodded. He shuffled up the ship, reaching the front. "Tsuyu, get ready to jump."
The girl ribbited. "Ready for what?"
Midoriya focused on steadying his legs and didn't answer. He just shook slightly - possibly in fear, possibly in excitement - and let out a loud cry before jumping over the edge.
"DIE!" he roared, imbuing his voice with the snarl of his childhood friend and teammate.
The villains, full of fear now, quickly started to swim away. Some screamed while others simply turned tail (quite literally for one of them). One of them even seemed to faint on the spot.
Vin held her hand out, calling out for Tsuyu. "Jump!" The frog girl didn't hesitate, quickly grabbing Vin's arm and flinging them both upwards with a mighty leap. From their aerial view, they watched in amazement as Midoriya, with only a flick of his finger, caused a massive eruption on the water's surface. The pond seemed to bloom like a flower, dissipating in a wide radius.
"SMASH!"
The shockwave of Midoriya's attack blasted him upwards. His finger, broken and purple, wiggled in the air as Tsuyu flung her tongue out and grabbed him around the waist. She was careful not to whip him forward and break anything else.
"For the time being, we've beaten the first hurdle," Tsu commented as they landed in shallow waters. Midoriya clutched his hand while Vin did her best to scurry towards the shore. "You two were great."
Midoriya blushed slightly and nodded. "It was lucky that we had the unique combination of Quirks to get out of that situation. If even one of us wasn't there, it would have been an incredibly difficult situation. That was an insane gamble and…" his voice dropped in volume as he began to ramble to himself.
Letting out a sigh, Tsu joined Vin near the sand. "What should we do next?"
"You should go get help," Vin answered, nodding to Midoriya's hand. "He needs medical assistance. I'll see about helping Aizawa."
Midoriya, using his good hand, grabbed Vin's shoulder and shook his head. "No. We should follow the water to the exit and avoid the plaza. There's going to be too many of them, even if you had metals. Mr. Aizawa is probably trying to keep them controlled but it's likely he jumped into the fight to help as a distraction. He's probably overextending himself!"
"That's why we have to help him!" Vin hissed, trying to pull her shoulder away.
However, he didn't let go. Midoriya glanced towards the center of the USJ and frowned. "I'm not saying we shouldn't try to help him. But… it would be smarter if we stayed hidden instead. Let's see if the villains leave any openings."
"If the leader gets captured, perhaps we can make them all surrender, ribbit," Tsu added.
Vin sighed and clenched her fists. "Fine. Let's go."
Storm Zone
Wincing, Kouda did her best to offer support to Tokoyami from behind her light pole.
"Behind you!"
Dark Shadow burst forth from Tokoyami's cloak and smashed its face(?) into one of the fronts of a villain that had tried to use the rain as cover. The villain gave a loud 'oof' before falling to the ground in a puddle of rainwater and spittle.
The strange creature gave a large thumbs up. "Thanks!"
Kouda nodded quickly. Without any animals - well, real animals, not shadow monsters - he was practically useless. His Quirk, Animal Voice, allows him to communicate with animals.
But here in this downpouring chamber, and even in the USJ proper, there were no animals around to talk to. And thanks to his naturally shy nature, Kouda's actual physical skills were…
Let's say, nonexistent.
But he could always provide support.
As Tokoyami dodged another strike, Dark Shadow grabbed another in its giant hands and tossed him into the air.
"Dark Shadow," his partner warned.
The creation crossed its arms. "What?"
"…"
"Ugh. Fiiiine." Dark Shadow flew upwards as the villain's screams grew louder. The living Quirk grabbed the falling evildoer and safely carried them to the ground… before tossing him into the pile of unconscious bodies.
But, while both of them were distracted, Kouda saw someone holding up something long and barreled at her classmate(s). With no time to warm them, he did the only thing he could.
Kouda jumped at the villain.
With speed he didn't know he had, Kouda placed himself between the villain and Tokoyami. Then he spread his arms and charged. "Run!"
The villain's eyes went wide as he smashed into him, knocking the weapon away. He wasn't that capable in combat but was fully able to accomplish a simple tackle. The bad guy's head cracked against the ground, rendering them unconscious.
I did it, Kouda gasped. I did it! I stopped a villain from shooting Tokoyami!
He jumped up, silently cheering for himself. But as he looked down at the assassin's weapon, he realized something was wrong.
"Isn't that… a flashlight?"
Dark Shadow floated over to him and picked up the 'weapon'. "Phew, thank goodness. I hate light. It makes me feel all bad inside and I have to recover inside of the boss for a bit."
"So… I did save you?"
"Yup! Thanks a bunch. Now let's go kick some villain tail!"
Entrance Area
"Ready?"
"On my mark!"
"Run!"
The small group of students trapped at the USJ's entrance prepared to make their final stand.
Well, Uraraka thought, not our 'final' final stand. Just the final stand of this fight.
The plan was simple. Distract the villain as Iida ran through the doors and got help. Actually, the only one who would distract him was Thirteen. The rest of the class was told to get behind her so they wouldn't be in the way of her Quirk.
Iida, who was holding a runner's pose, bolted forward at what must have been top speed.
"Go Iida!" Mina cheered.
As their class rep got closer to the villain, Thirteen's fingers began to create a visible sucking of air. Stray mist floated off of the villain's 'body' and was quickly absorbed into her vortex.
"As I said!" she yelled. "It doesn't mean anything if you hear our plan!"
The villain chuckled and his body began to swirl. "Ah, Thirteen. As expected of a hero who spends their time on mere disaster relief." The Pro-Hero's vortex grew stronger as the warp gate grew larger. "Your combat experience is deplorable."
Then, between Uraraka and Thirteen, a second gate opened. The astronaut-like hero let out a scream as their own Quirk was used against them.
"You'll turn to dust by your own power."
Freezing at the sight, Iida began to turn around. However, Sato grabbed his shoulders and pushed him back towards the exit. "She told you to run!"
The boy hissed. "Damn it!" he roared, running even faster than before.
"Children," the purple villain sighed as his body began to disappear into another portal. He then reformed a few meters in front of Iida, blocking the doors. "I'm afraid I cannot allow you to get help. That will cause quite a problem for us."
Iida didn't slow down. He moved to the side, trying to make it past the villain. However, from the purple haze, a tendril lashed forward. It scratched against the cement floor, leaving a long gash.
It's tangible! Uraraka gasped. "Iida-!"
Before she could warn him, Shouji was there. The giant man must have already been moving because he caught up to the two with impossible speed. Shouji grabbed at the smoky tendril in what looked like a hug and bent it upwards.
"Quickly!" one of his limbs yelled, sprouting a mouth.
Nodding, Iida rushed past, making even greater headway towards the door. However, the villain quickly flung off Shouji and flew towards Iida.
"Vanish!"
Uraraka's eyes widened as she saw something silver reflect through the man's smoky body.
Vin's pipe flew between Kirishima and Bakugou and made a metallic ding as it hit something solid.
She gasped and turned around to Sero. "Fling me! At the villain!" Uraraka then pressed a hand against her wrist, making herself weightless.
Sero, thank goodness, didn't question the order. He lifted his arms and tape flew up, sticking to Uraraka's back. He spun around, picking up momentum, before releasing the strand.
Like a rocket, Uraraka's weightless body flew towards the villain as he gained on Iida.
"What are you doing?" Mina gasped as the brunette blasted past her. The pink girl had moved to help Thirteen but paused at Uraraka's sudden plan.
Uraraka held out her arms as she approached the villain. "I don't know why he's wearing a collar," she yelled, hitting the smoke and grabbing a hold of something solid. "But if he does, then that means he's got a solid body in here somewhere!"
Her Quirk activated as her hand pressed against the metallic item. The villain gasped and tried to spin around but Uraraka still held onto her momentum. Spinning, she twisted upwards and tossed the collar upwards.
"Run Iida!" she cried.
With no hold of gravity, and in a momentary lapse of concentration, the cloud of purple smoke fell towards the roof.
Once again, Sero moved without thinking and shot up another strand of tape that quickly collided with the metal collar. He grunted and swung backward, bringing the villain back towards them.
"Go dude! We got this!" Sero flung the villain as far as he could. Feeling sick, Uraraka pressed her fingers together, once again letting gravity take hold of her (and the villain).
The last thing Uraraka saw before she hit the ground was Iida squeezing through the doors and leaving a trail of dust behind him.
Plaza
"Twenty-three," he hissed.
Eraserhead charged again at the last villain standing. Unconscious bodies cluttered the ground around them as he did his best to capture the man covered with hands. The giant bird-creature seemed frozen, having not moved at all since its appearance.
The last villain, the one covering his body with what he hoped were fake hands, was more elusive than he initially gave him credit for. The man had somehow been able to dodge every swipe with his capture tool. However, Eraserhead was always able to keep him in his line of sight. That meant his Quirk, whatever it was, wouldn't work.
"Twenty-four."
Once again, he flung his capture tool forward as he jumped over a body. "Are you the champion?"
Instead of responding, the villain ducked and grabbed ahold of the strand. "Twenty." His smirk was audible even behind the hand covering his face.
Eraserhead tch'd and pushed himself even further forward, dropping low to the ground.
"Seventeen."
With a hard pull on the strand in the villain's hand, Eraserhead made him stumble forward. With his body open, he planted a hard strike with his elbow into the man's gut.
The villain grunted and hunched over Eraserhead's elbow. "You know," he wheezed, "that it's really hard to tell but with all this jumping around, there are moments where your hair covers your eyes."
It took every ounce of willpower for Eraserhead not to move. Is that what he was counting? Where's he going with this?
"It always falls whenever you complete one action. And the interval keeps getting shorter and shorter." The villain leaned down and placed a hand on Eraserhead's elbow. "You shouldn't bite off more than you can chew!"
He gasped when the villain's touch began to corrode and dissolve his shirt. Then, when the cloth had been destroyed, the corrosion began to press into his skin. The outer layer of his arm began to flake away, revealing the red, raw tissue underneath.
In an act of fear and determination, Eraserhead slammed his other fist into the villain's cheek, giving him enough slack to twist his elbow free and jump a few yards back. He groaned and glanced down at his arm, wincing at the sight of it.
At least it isn't broken, he hissed.
The villain whistled and slowly rose to his knees. "That Quirk of yours… It's really unsuited for fighting large groups for long periods of time. You're more used to fighting in short-length, sneak attacks. This is really different from your usual line of work.
"So, perhaps, was the reason you rushed into battle like this was to give your students some peace of mind? Some hope?" The villain got to his feet and wheezed. "You're so cool, Eraserhead! A real mentor character! But you got one thing wrong."
Something moved behind Eraserhead. He flipped his head around to Erase it but froze as a large shadow covered his entire line of sight. The monster-creature had finally made its move, looking down at him with its sharp, rock-like teeth and bulging eyes.
Wasn't it just-?
"I'm not the champion here."
Who were they kidding?
In this world of heroes and villains, they hadn't seen anything yet.
Midoriya, Vin, and Tsuyu rose from the water slowly and peeked over the bank. They had slowly made their way around the entire beach by taking quick breaths and swims, though Vin was mainly pulled as she held her breath, until they arrived at the closest area where the plaza and flood zone connected. And now they found themselves in perfect view of the horrors of this world.
Not allowing themselves to even gasp, the three students froze in disbelief at what they saw.
Mr. Aizawa was down. On his back was some sort of… monster. It pinned down their teacher with barely any difficulty. Its right hand was holding down on his neck while its left twisted Aizawa's hand even further. The limb was obviously broken, now bent in two more places than what should be humanly possible. Blood was splattered in droplets around them and Eraserhead's iconic goggles now lay in shattered pieces.
A wheezing chortle cut the silence. It grew louder and louder as they turned to see the first villain leaning back with wide, outstretched arms. "Tell him! Tell the symbol of peace he's wanted by the artificial human!
"Nomu!"
Huge, huge thanks to my first ever supporter!
Helpful supporter - Dalek2150.
Here you go, everyone! I told you I'd get the next chapter our quickly. And thanks to my brand new beta/editor, I did (thanks a bunch SlayerofSnails).
I tried very hard this chapter to focus on everyone in class 1A. There was a lot of hopping around but I think I at least included everyone. For instance, the Inferno and Storm Zone stuff is completely original and so was Hagakure meeting up with Todoroki who, again, was completely written out of this arc for a throwaway joke at the end. Seriously, I love this manga/anime, but Assassination classroom was able to make every student likable and gave them each something interesting and recognizable. MHA has had like 5 seasons thus far and hasn't given us any history outside of the 'DekuSquad'.
But that's enough hating.
A lot of this was just writing what happened in the anime. There were slight tweaks due to Vin's involvement with the characters as well as me thinking this was a better way for their characters to be. (Also some foreshadowing stuff down the line.) I'm sorry there wasn't much Vin action outside of the Flood Zone, but I hope this trip down memory lane was enjoyable for you all.
As much as I greatly enjoyed this though (and amazed by how quickly it took to write it), I am going to pause here. I didn't want to leave you all last chapter waiting for the action so I made this. But now… I'm kinda MHA-out'd. This and the last chapter come up to almost 30 pages. I'm just going to go back to Remnant Who to work on that chapter and when that's done, I'll come right back. I promise it won't be long, maybe a month max.
Editor's note: Enjoyed editing this and talking with RW.
We have still been unable to meet our goal of being the #1 Mistborn Fanfic. First is still being held by Slavok's Beautiful Destroyer with a difference of 131 Favorites and 22 Follows. C'mon guys! We can do it! Spread the word! Spam the 17th shard! It is possible!
Also, and I know I say it every chapter (like twice), please please please comment. It really makes my day reading new comments. Even if you're reading this a week from the post-date, don't be afraid to post what your favorite part was. Not only do your comments bring me the energy to continue writing, but they also help fuel my creative imagination for new unique ideas.
