Crystal Light Awakens?

Glimmerwing woke surrounded by the ponies, his head still hurt but everything else seemed fine. "Are you alright sugar cube?" Applejack asked.

"My head hurts," he answered.

"You have a glowing horn," Twilight said as though a little miffed. He was surprised and attempted to look at it but was unable to.

"Here," Rarity offered pulling a mirror out of her bag with magic. His eyes bulged a bit as he saw his entire look seemed slightly changed, was he shinier? His mane and tail glowed with multiple hues of blue and gold despite not having his Aliture and the crystal horn was complete on his head as though he hadn't had a gem at all. But how could he have his horn now? Would it disappear? How long before he would be back as he was?

"I-I.. I can't stay here," He suddenly said. It was wrong, all of it and this place had done something strange to him.

"But we just got here," Rainbow Dash piped in with a raised eyebrow. It was too late to stop his panic now, he was already backing away before turning tail and flying off. He wasn't sure where he was flying too but he knew he had to get away, then he hit something and searing pain raced through his skull. He hit the ground hard but he managed to shake off the agony and rise to his hooves. He looked back to see his pale yellow tail back to normal then he looked to the city itself, luckily no one had followed him yet. Glimmerwing dashed off and then began to fly as far from the strange city as he could. He flew until he could fly no longer but when he landed, it was next to some dark rock. He couldn't really tell what the rock was, as the sky was full of dark clouds.

He sighed and collapsed before it, somehow he felt as though as all the energy he had just had was being sapped away from him. "What..?" he managed to say, as the rock before him began to glow slightly while revealing it's true nature to him. No a dark crystal, he thought attempting to get up but he was now unable to move. Dark tendrils began to surface and writhe before him until they suddenly took shape. His strength was no longer being sapped so he stood but as he did so, dark shackles latched around his legs just above his hooves.

"Oh no, you won't be going anywhere," the dark pony spoke. Glimmerwing shivered he had never before felt the way he did just now, he was faced with a being whom was corrupted by the same darkness as that that had taken his home yet he felt.. well he wasn't sure but it definitely was different. "Firstly," the shadowpony said slyly circling around him. "I am not corrupted, I was born this way. I am half-pony, half-shadow pony." Glimmerwing jerked in surprise, was the other pony reading his mind he wondered. The male paused briefly beside him, inspecting him curiously. He couldn't help but feel nervous as the other looked him over. "Secondly, yes I can read your fears."

"I.." Glimmerwing began.

"Do not tell me the nonsense of this threat that you think is spreading," the male began. "I have been here far longer than that, the darkness has tried to take this place time and again. And time and again has been thwarted, infuriatingly so." the male seethed now, clearly anguished by some failure of his own that was incorporeal to Glimmerwing. He was also concerned the shadowpony may be even slightly delusional from.. "I am not delusional, why is it you only have one name and a blank flank?" Glimmerwing blushed slightly embarrassed.

"I have not yet received my.." he began.

"Cutie Mark," the male finished infuriatingly, correcting his own term for it straight from his head. "You would do well to learn these terms, the ponies here will be confused otherwise. Most of them are quite simple ponies with simple understanding.

"And what of.." Glimmerwing attempted again.

"Princess Twilight and her friends?" the male seemed to enjoy this game. "They are a cut above the average pony, smart despite their appearances and cunning enough to stop even I from my scheduled return." Glimmerwing had to turn his head the other way as the male came around to his other side. "I am surprised however, that you don't wish to know the name of pony you just freed, after all I am quite eager to tell you." The shadowpony grinned. Glimmerwing waited with bated breath as the other male circled around once more to his other side. "I am King Sombra, of the shadow pony and once King of the Crystal Empire." Glimmerwing closed his eyes briefly, there was no way he was getting out of the dark cuffs on his hooves and he desperately wanted to be free. He had to at least warn the princess' of the danger and peril he had unleashed. He huffed in frustration as he struggled in vain, how was he to get out of this one?

He cried out suddenly as searing pain coursed through his neck, he nearly panicked and bucked. But he managed to stay still until his legs wobbled and he felt woozy, just what was that sharp pain? What was Sombra doing to him? He then heard some form of incantation but he was barely hanging onto consciousness as it was. He suddenly stood straight as the noise stopped and his vision sharpened, it was then that he realized he was free from the shackles. He attempted to move but found himself under some sort of spell.

"Now let's get back to the princess," he felt his mouth curl into a smile without him doing so. It was then he realized that he was not in control of his own body, any longer.

Rainbow dash flew about in a hurry, she had split off on her own to search for their wayward companion while Twilight, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy went to the library. Appplejack had went off on her own as well and Rarity was.. well Rarity being dramatic as always. She was certain she could catch up to the wayward stallion but her hopes were dashed as she reached the barrier's edge. But he couldn't have gone that far right? Did he leave the safety of the barrier? She flapped on in the general direction but came to a sudden halt and did a double take as she saw the stallion seemingly trotting along back toward the barrier. She zipped down to him and landed.

"I'm glad I found you," Rainbow Dash said. The stallion jolted a bit, then kept pace with her.

"Yes, I apologize for earlier," Glimmerwing said, though his speech pattern seemed slightly different then she remembered. Maybe he always talked this strangely. "It must have seemed quite silly for me to act as such." She couldn't quite put her hoof on it but something was definitely different.

"Well I'm glad you're not freaking out now but what even was that earlier?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Some kind of panic attack? And why are you talking different?"

"Ah.. yes I panicked," Glimmerwing said, sounding much more like his normal self. They were nearly to the barrier when the stallion suddenly stopped, it was like he was afraid of the barrier but that couldn't be right. Or maybe he was still nervous about entering the city.

"Hey maybe the first time was a fluke," Rainbow assured. "Maybe you won't look different this time."

"Right," he said, giving her a confused look. She watched as he took a breath and stepped inside the barrier, he then quickly looked himself over. "Oh, you were right! The first time must have been a fluke." She smiled as he seemed much more like the pony who first landed but what was with him before?

"See, what'd I tell ya?" Rainbow replied, quite pleased with herself. "Come on let's get back to the others and see if they found those.. ugh books." She definitely was not into the whole reading thing like her egg-head friend was, well at least not in public. She looked back occasionally just to be sure he was still following but other than that, she kept on leading the way to the library. Well that and questioning her sanity from earlier, it was like he had been a different pony outside the barrier. And now he looked like the same old unsure stallion, while before he seemed to strut with confidence? No way did a pony just change unless.. maybe this pony was fooling them all into thinking he was a good guy. Maybe he was really a bad pony here to do some kind of evil to their world.

Of course he hadn't seemed like a villain, so why would he act differently now? She grit her teeth but decided to stop thinking about the subject, after all if he was evil they would stop him, no big deal.

*intercept's* Hey guys short chappie sorry about that I wasn't exactly sure what to do here to be honest but I figured it out in the end! And now Sombra is free and yes I kept a lot of what I wrote but as you see I got rid of that early lemon sorry all but it was unscheduled, unofficial smut. I might do some other chappies with said unofficial smut in it but not today hahaha. Let me know if you want more unofficial lemons and I will tease you all with it later hehehehe. Anyway not sure where I am gunna put the real lemons but when I figure it out I won't need any filler to fill with filling lol. Hmm and Sombra be messin' up hehe seems Rainbow is on to him maybe hahahaha.
