By coincidence, after the tasting Fred had managed to bump into Sara. "Hey, it's my favorite middle Fern kid!" He greeted her.

"I'm the only middle Fern kid." She rolled her eyes. "Where were you?"

"Noodle Burger, for the Noodle Bigger Burger tasting." Fred replied, then winced as he remembered the aftertaste. "I'm not buying it when it comes out, it has cilantro."

Sara was frowning in confusion. "Noodle Bigger Burger?" She cocked her head. "I don't remember management telling us to learn about that…"

When seeing his confusion, she elaborated. "Oh, we usually learn about new stuff added to the menu ahead of time, so the chefs know how to make it, and if anyone asks if the food has anything to aggravate their allergies."

"Maybe it's exclusive to that Noodle Burger." Fred suggested. "Yours has different food than the one I frequent."

"I guess." Sara shrugged it off. "How was the tasting? Besides the cilantro part…"

"Weird. Mole was there and he also didn't like cilantro and uh… it was weird." He didn't know what to think of it. "You remember Mole, right?"

"That guy who flirts with Gogo all the time and blackmailed you guys one time? Yeah, I've remembered the name and face of that kid." She snorted. "What about him?"

"He was…" Annoying? Insufferable? "Decent-ish."

"Huh. Well, I'd just shrug it off." Sara told him. "Don't forget, he's the worst."

Fred chuckled. "You sound like my consciousness."

"I just think you should keep your guard up." She huffed. "That kid's been giving you a hard time, just because he was tolerable one time doesn't mean he'll be suddenly nice to you."

She had a point, Richardson might've been decent at the tasting, but peaceful times never lasted. "Noted, I'll keep that in mind."

"You're welcome!"

"Anyways, see ya." They parted ways, Fred looked up to see the sky was starting to turn orange.

Better head home myself. He thought, there was still a new villain to deal with, thoughts about the Noodle Bigger Burgers aside.

"Hey gang." They were all in Mr. Frederickson's secret lair talking to him on video. "Don't mind Benjamin. He likes to tussle."

While he was wrestling a bull at the family ranch. "Isn't that right, Benjamin?"

The bull bellowed. "Looks like more than a tussle." Wasabi winced.

Ding-dong! They all looked around. "Was that the door-"

Ding-dong! Ding-dong! Ding-dong! The doorbell cut off Hiro.

"I'll get it." Fred excused himself from the room. "Continue without me."

"Mr. Frederickson?" Honey Lemon turned back to the screen. "Do you know Supersonic Sue?"

"I haven't heard that name in years!" He chuckled. "Thought she retired after the big bang by Major Annihilation. That was a close battle!"

"Who?" Hiro raised an eyebrow.

"Guy that tried taking over the city, forced a few villains to help him too. Some of them left town to avoid working under him." Mr. Frederickson explained after ducking a headbutt from Benjamin. "Kind of like that guy who caused the star incident, good work on you kids for preventing that by the way."

"Thanks!" Wasabi flashed a thumbs up.

Gogo cleared her throat. "We're getting off topic, what do you know about Supersonic Sue?"

The former superhero was happy to explain. "She was a Roller Derby queen-" Benjamin knocked him off screen and he pushed the bull away to pop back up. "Until she was kicked out for using performance-enhancing rocket skates." The bull knocked him again.

"Y'know, people just use performance-enhancing drugs to cheat." Hiro mumbled, Honey Lemon winced as the bull knocked Mr. Frederickson over.

"So she turned to a life of crime?" Gogo raised an eyebrow.

"She broke down a lot of barriers for lady villains."

Honey Lemon raised her hand. "Mr. Frederickson, do you know where we'd find her?"

"No clue. I don't stay in touch with old foes." The bull was nomming his arm and another kept Benjamin back from biting it off entirely.

"But maybe they stayed in touch with each other." Hiro pointed out.

"You're thinking Baron Von Steamer."

"It's worth a try." He told Wasabi. "Well, looks like we're going to prison." On screen, Benjamin bellowed and crashed into Mr. Frederickson, at the same time Fred walked back in, looking a little stunned.

"Welcome back, Freddie!" Honey Lemon greeted him, he didn't reply. "We're going to see Steamer to try and get more information on Supersonic Sue."

"I'm a little nervous since he kidnapped me." Wasabi sweatdropped. Fred still didn't reply.

"Was it one of those door to door religious salesmen?" Hiro asked.

"No…" He mumbled, it looked like he didn't want to talk about it, so they left it be. They had an old villain to see.

Hiro was bracing for a verbal debate when they showed up in superhero gear and asked to see Steamer for information. To his shock and relief, the security guards there were understanding.

"Chill, not all of us are like the chief." One chuckled. "If questioning one of the prisoners helps stop crime and the next big threat, go for it."

"The chief?" Fred was confused. "What do you mean by that?"

The group exchanged looks. "No one told him?" Gogo whispered, Honey Lemon had at least told her that after Detective Rosemary told the chemist and Wasabi at their team-up.

"Chief Cruz does not like us." Baymax explained.

Fred crossed his arms. "Typical. Each police chief and their deputy in comics is like that, just wait until he tries villainizing us to get us behind bars. It's like Officer Wartwood from the old Captain Fancy Cartoon Show, who's an antagonist for Season 2 and tries getting Captain Fancy arrested so he can take all the glory!"

A guard shuddered. "Jeez I hope the chief doesn't turn into that, he just complains whenever you're brought up."

"That's how it all starts-" Gogo elbowed him in the chest.

"Okay, quit conspiracy thinking, that's for another week." She rolled her eyes. "We have an old cyborg boomer to visit."

Behind her, Wasabi snorted in amusement.

They entered the high-security room Steamer was imprisoned in, the lights turned on as Hiro was the closest to the glass. It reminded him of the room they kept Cal-Yokai in… he tried not to think about that.

"Uh, Mr. Von Steamer? Uh, we- We need your help." The stretcher the old villain was on rattled. "Baron?"

The stretcher turned and revealed Steamer was conked out, snoring like how a typical old man snored in his sleep.

"Snoring can be a symptom of sleep apnea." Baymax explained to them. A bell ringing woke Steamer up.

"Give me back my pudding!" He blurted, shaking himself awake as the group gawked. "Oh! If it isn't Big Millennial 6. To what do I owe the displeasure?" Steamer greeted them.

"Supersonic Sue." Hiro stated.

"Oh. That's a name I haven't heard in years." The stretcher rolled away as he took a deep breath. Oh, no. Hiro knew what direction he was going.

"We're not looking for a long backstory-"

"We were young rouges, with an appetite for trouble." Too late, he internally groaned. "She was tough as nails. I was handsome as all get-out."

"Methinks' there was a villain romance." Fred stage-whispered to Gogo, who just elbowed him in the chest again. "Ow!"

"'Methinks' you should get off the Fanfiction Collection." She scolded. Meanwhile Hiro was trying to halt Steamer's rambling.

"Really? We just wanna-"

To no such luck. "Naturally, we became bitter rivals. She wanted to be Boss Awesome's number one enemy, but I had already called dibs."

"Couldn't you just be his number two enemy?" Wasabi suggested.

Steamer took offense to that. "Second place is first place loser!"

Gogo nodded in agreement, thinking to how humiliated she felt, and still was about losing to Sue. "Yep, he's right."

"Do you know where we can find her?" Hiro questioned before the old villain could go into more unnecessary backstory.

"No." He felt his eye twitch with irritation. "But if you see her, tell her I said her catchphrase stinks!"

Wasabi raised an eyebrow. "What's her catchphrase?"

CRASH!

"Supersonic Sue me, why don't ya?" Speaking of the devil, Sue had appeared, breaking into Steamer's cell via the stolen rocket fist.

"Yeah, that could use some work." Wasabi readied his plasma blades and tried cutting through the glass to get to Sue, but the plasma bounced back. "Oh. Ow. It's reinforced."

Sue zipped over to Steamer, grabbing his stretcher. "Guard! Guard, help!"

"Later, skaters!" She taunted them as she rolled Steamer out of there.

"Big Hero 6, save me-!"

"Red Panda, rocket fist!" Hiro commanded the robot, but before the fist could launch, the thumb popped off.

"Oh, no."

The robotics genius placed his hand to his helm, all that work and it did nothing. "Screw it." He started walking out of the room.

"Where are you going?" Honey Lemon called after him.

"Asking the guards if I can get the rocket fist." Sue dropped the original fist in Steamer's cell, he didn't want to make a new one, too much of a headache!

Note to self, make back-up suits of our regulars so I don't have to rely on ultra armor, which is a PAIN to patch up!

Lest he repeated the rocket fist failure and spare him the humiliation.

Ferns and Nerds group chat:

Mikan Ferns: Hey Wasabi you okay?

Wasabi: Um… yes?

Honey Lemon: That's out of nowhere to ask

Mikan Ferns: Saw the news this evening about Steamer escaping and just wanted to check

Wasabi: OH

Sara Ferns: STEAMER?! AS IN BARON VON STEAMER?!

Gogo: Caps

Sara Ferns: I swear if he lays ONE hand on you. ONE HAND.

Fredzilla: Um you know Steamer was trying to kidnap me that one time, right?

Sara Ferns: You're not the one who almost died!

Hiro Hamada: Why are you so hung up about that anyways? It happened months ago

Wasabi: Still get nightmares about it

Gogo: Not helping

Fredzilla: Sara?

Mikan Ferns: She's not working.

Mikan Ferns: awsikdidijsjaiji

David Ferns: "Answer your texts!" -Mika

David Ferns: "NO!" Sara while she's grabbing Mika's phone so she doesn't translate what she's saying aloud

Wasabi: Why are you all like this?

David Ferns: Mom and Dad raised us, what did you expect

Hiro Hamada: I'm telling Professor Ferns you said that

David Ferns: PLZ NO

"So, I know we're superheroes and all-" They were all back at the Boss Awesome lair to discuss their next move, Wasabi was skeptical at the idea of rescuing his former kidnapper. "But are we really obligated to rescue Steamer?"

Gogo shared his thoughts. "Yeah, I know he's technically a 'victim,' but he's also technically annoying." She used air-quotes on the word "victim."

"A real hero helps everyone in need." They nearly jumped as Mr. Frederickson was behind the monitor. "Even your worst enemies."

"Dad!" Fred greeted him.

"Hey son, hey gang!" He greeted him back. "You forgot to hang up earlier."

"Help a villain?" Gogo raised an eyebrow. "Wouldn't they just turn on you?"

"Now who's the conspiracy theorist?"

"Quiet, Fred."

"I mean… Mr. Frederickson has a point." Honey Lemon turned to Hiro. "Remember what happened with Jun-"

"Don't you dare." He glared at the chemist. "Must I remind you of what happened at Bridgeton?!"

"That was because of the whole monster thing." She argued. "They were 'this' close to reforming before they turned."

Hiro squinted as she gestured with her hands. "Your fingers are touching."

"Exactly!"

"Guys, not right now." Wasabi pinched the bridge of his nose, he did not want to hear about that incident. "It'd make us bad as our enemies if we just let them… y'know."

"Yeah, you're right." Hiro sighed, thinking of the hours he spent searching under the bay for signs of Obake. Even if he hated the man for almost destroying the city and his loved ones, he at least tried to find him.

Otherwise, he'd just be as bad as him, wouldn't he?

"I suggest you have a group discussion." Mr. Frederickson advised. "I'd always chat about important choices with my closest allies and family."

"Thanks Dad! " Fred flashed him a thumbs up. "Love you, and-WATCH OUT BEHIND YOU!" He pointed to Benjamin, the bull growling behind Mr. Frederickson.

"Thanks, son!" And the former superhero tussled with the bull once more, which ended the call.

"I guess we're doing night patrol." Honey Lemon told the others.

"I can't go out tonight." They turned to Fred. "Sorry, guys, I have to get up early."

Gogo crossed her arms. "For something stupid?"

"No!" He protested. "It's for my Kentucky Kaiju movie marathon." With reluctance he added, "with Richardson."

"Called it."

"Wait." Wasabi held up his hands. "Richardson Mole? The guy that blackmailed his way onto the team, made you slip our identities to Ari, and was gonna tell the world despite doing what he asked of us?"

"And constantly hits on Gogo." Honey Lemon frowned, gripping one of Gogo's hands in a comforting manner. "He's not really nice."

Fred winced, he almost forgot about that incident. "Yeah, it turns out we actually have a lot in common."

"You don't say?" He ignored Hiro's sarcastic comment.

"Sometimes bitter enemies who disgust you to your core can become, um…"

"Friends?" Honey Lemon suggested.

"Let's go with less disgusting for now. We'll see how this goes."

"I'd love to see you explain this to Ari." Hiro smirked.

Fred huffed. "Challenge accepted!"

Wasabi pinched the bridge of his nose again, then facepalmed.
