In the streets of San Fransokyo, there was a reptilian monster running wild, it's features looking similar to a mini version of the Kentucky Kaiju. Big Hero 6 was on the streets to stop it from causing a scare, like all the other creatures before it.

"Guys I'm right behind him!" Wasabi was talking through the comms. "He's going through the-" The kaiju monster leapt over the cars stuck in traffic, leaving Wasabi stuck in the jam as well. "Traffic… scratch that I lost him."

"Don't worry Chop Chop, we've got him." Hiro reassured him, he and Baymax were in pursuit in the skies.

Baymax's eyes glowed blue as he scanned the city. "He is moving toward Night Market Square, rapidly."

"I'm gonna cut him off." Gogo sped down the streets and towards the square, but saw no sign of the kaiju monster. "Wait, where'd he go?"

Hiro tapped the comms. "Chem Girl, you see anything?" Honey Lemon was atop a building, using her visor to scan the city.

She sighed. "Nothing." But then her visor beeped as it zoomed in on sudden movement. "Wait! He's on a bus."

"He's riding the bus?" Wasabi raised an eyebrow.

"Kind of." The kaiju monster was gripping the side of the bus with his claws, the passengers inside staring with shock and confusion.

"I see him." Hiro flew over and circled the bus, the kaiju monster took notice and hopped off, leaving the passengers alone. "Speed Queen, you've got intercept."

"Good, this ends now." She chased the kaiju monster into an alleyway.

He tried to scramble to safety, but the alleyway was a dead end with nothing for him to climb into. With no way out, he tried to fight but Gogo quickly threw a disk and pinned him down. "Gotcha!"

"Nice, Speed Queen!" Hiro and Baymax landed next to her.

One of the kaiju's eyes popped open as Fred's head poked out, he groaned in pain. "Yeah, but… did you have to throw the disk so hard?"

"You're the one who wanted to do a monster training exercise." Gogo argued. It had been Fred's idea to practice fighting against monsters given the current situation.

"At least it helps us memorize our code names." Honey Lemon added, sliding into the alleyway. "Good monster hustle Freddie."

"Flame Jumper." He corrected. "Can't use our real names while geared up, lest someone finds out our secret identities!"

Honey Lemon sheepishly smiled. "Right, I mean good monster hustle Flame Jumper."

Hiro attempted to wipe the sweat off his brow, but his hand just hit his helmet instead. "Phew! That was a workout, anyone else hungry?"

"Yes!" Fred bounced up to his feet as the group clung to Baymax's back. "Let's hit up Noodle Burger. I wanna try the new Frugal Noodle menu." As they took off to the skies, they almost forgot one member.

"Wait, I want Noodle Burger too!" Wasabi complained through the comms, poor him was still stuck in traffic.

But meanwhile, in the dark, monstrous sub-levels of Sycorax. Chris was humming a tune as he prepared a batch of cupcakes to feed to Liv.

Poor darling's been working herself down to the bone. He didn't blame her, they estimated they only had a few weeks left to find a solution to their dire situation.

She's getting weaker… He finished adding the special toppings and went to deliver the plate. The CEO was hunched over the chamber monitoring vitals like usual.

"Uhg! It's not working. Nothing's working!" She groaned, placing both her hands to her head in frustration.

"Sounds like somebody needs a Chris Cake." He walked over to her, offering one of the treats.

"Chris, not now-" Liv paused, seeing sparkling flecks on the frosting. "Wait, what's on it?"

"Gold flakes, it adds a fun flair." Chris hummed. "You're worth it."

"Gold?" She started running a test on the monitor.

"Completely digestible."

"Gold!" Liv smirked at the success rates of the test. "Biocompatible? Nanoparticles? Yes! Chris, you are a lifesaver." She gleefully took a cupcake and they toasted to their success.

"I'll have the pets see if there's any incoming shipments of gold." Chris replied after a bite. "City's a goldmine for that stuff."

Liv nodded, her smile turning into a cruel grin. "And it's ripe for the taking."

Meanwhile with the nerd gang…

"I can't believe you guys forgot me! I thought that someone was gonna recognize me!"

"Wasabi, we said sorry, at least we got you food."

"Freddie. He has a right to be mad."

The comic fan frowned. "Fair point."

They were all at the Frederickson manor enjoying Noodle Burger after a long workout, even dragging along Ari to celebrate with them.

"Um." Said sweater girl spoke up. "Can we go back to playing games?"

"Truth or Dare?" Honey Lemon suggested.

"No!" Everyone chorused.

"Never again." Hiro was blushing red at the memory of his sister's birthday sleepover. That was one truth or dare he'd never live down.

Baymax, who wasn't at the sleepover, was confused by his reaction. "Why do you not want to play Truth or Dare?"

"Because." Hiro sighed, not wanting to clarify. "How about we play Two Truths and a Lie?"

"Sure." Gogo nodded, liking that idea.

"I'm down for that." Wasabi also nodded in agreement. "Wanna go first?"

"Hmm." Hiro crumbled his bag of Noodle Burger before speaking. "I was good at escaping as a bot-fighter, my favorite animal is cats, and chocolate is one of my favorite treats, second only to gummy bears."

"Isn't your favorite animal a dog?" Honey Lemon guessed, trying to catch the lie.

"Nope!" He grinned. "It's either escapee or chocolate."

The chemist frowned. "Aww… I guessed wrong."

"There there." Baymax patted her shoulder.

Fred was the one who guessed the lie. "The escapee one isn't true, you always got caught bot-fighting most of the time."

Hiro groaned. "Yeah, that was the lie. How'd you find out?"

"Tadashi told me."

"Why am I not surprised?"

Ari snickered at her brother, he sent her a glare. "I'm gonna go next." Gogo stated.

"Bring it, Gogo. I'm prepared!" Fred rubbed his hands together in anticipation.

The engineer took that as a challenge. "Let's see… I had dated one of the girls on the soccer team in high school, I have a soft spot for baby animals, and I'm into anime." Fred's jaw dropped. "You prepared, Fred?"

"Uh…" He paused, she hadn't shown any signs of which statement was the lie. "I'm uh… a little stuck."

"I don't think it's the soccer one." Honey Lemon frowned. "You're so shy with your feelings!"

Gogo smirked. "That one's actually true. Lie is actually the anime thing."

"Ohhh." The chemist blinked. "That was good."

"Thanks Honey."

Ari raised her hand. "Um, can I go next?"

"Sure, Ari!" Wasabi gave her a thumbs up. "What have you prepared for us?"

"Well…" She cleared her throat. "I've been having weird dreams for awhile, I still think the Mayoi are cute, and I can't stand eating pork."

"Weird dreams one is true!" Hiro blurted out. "She told me."

"Hiro, it wasn't even five seconds yet!"

"What exactly makes them weird dreams?" Baymax asked her. "Dreams are vivid sensations that are often confusing. Do you dream of sheep?"

Ari frowned. "No one dreams of sheep! They're like… weird memory dreams." She gestured.

"I often dream of sheep." Baymax stated. "I enjoy dreaming about sheep, and counting sheep."

"Oookay." Hiro awkwardly nudged the robot. "Any other guesses guys?"

"I think the pork one's true." Fred waved a fry in the air. "I've never seen you eat real bacon, just turkey bacon."

"Fred's correct." Ari chuckled. "So that means I don't like the Mayoi anymore, they give me the creeps with those big eyes of theirs."

"I still think they're cute!" Honey Lemon pouted. "I miss Minty…" She scooped Gogo into a tight hug.

"Aw, it's okay Honey." Gogo hugged her back.

"It's not!" She still missed the cute Mayoi, and the Mayoi in general, it wasn't fair that Sparkles got to hog all of them. "Can I go next?"

The group all nodded, and Honey Lemon took a breath before starting. "Right. So for my three things, my entire high school experience was just me being a crushing mess besides the science chemistry. I accidentally released all of my cousin's breeding hamsters in the house. And-"

"The hamster thing was real and the crushing mess was actually me."

"Wasabi! I didn't even get to finish!" The group started chuckling as Honey Lemon turned pink. "How about you go next then?"

"Gladly!" He smirked. "I started a competitive ironing team in high school. I collect vintage typewriters. And I knitted my first sweater when I was seven."

Fred slurped his soda as he observed Wasabi. "Hmm… This is a tough one." He pointed out. "I mean, they all sound true-ish."

"Yeah." Hiro nodded, eating a fry. "But one's a lie, right, Wasabi?"

"Yes!" He nodded. "I said two truths and one lie."

"Huh." Gogo hummed, she was playing one of Fred's arcade games at the moment. "Well, the ironing thing's real. I've seen the trophies."

"Still undefeated!" Wasabi boasted.

"Because you were the only ironing team at school." Honey Lemon pointed out.

"Irrelevant!"

"Any thoughts, Fred?" Ari looked over to the comic fan. "My gut is telling me the typewriter is fake."

Fred hummed. "I guess that the lie is…"

"Wasabi did not knit his first sweater when he was seven."

"Yep! Baymax is right! I was six." He nodded, then paused. "Wait, how'd you guess it?"

Baymax's screen visualized his response. "Your heart rate increased and your pupils dilated when you made the third statement."

"...How closely were you looking at my pupils?"

"Cool!" Fred found it amusing. "Baymax is like a walking lie detector!"

"Yeah Baymax, I didn't know you could-" Hiro paused, an idea forming in his head. Eureka! He realized. "Hey, hey, hey, Liv Amara!"

"Where!?"

"She's the one behind the monsters." Hiro explained to Fred, who was still glancing around.

Ari groaned. "Here we go again…" He glared at his sister, who still didn't believe him despite the evidence.

"But you can't prove it." Gogo pointed out.

"Now, I can." He grinned, gesturing to Baymax. "Lie detector."

She looked skeptical. "Are you sure you really want to know when everyone's lying?"

"Not everyone, just Liv."

Wasabi raised an eyebrow. "What are you gonna do? Just follow her around with Baymax listening to what she says until you catch her in a lie?"

Hiro grinned. "Well that's the idea."

"Actually, that's not a bad plan."

"Good luck Hiro, be safe." Honey Lemon gave him a thumbs up.

"I'll be careful." Hiro protested. "Besides, even if she did catch me, not like she could do anything." That caused the adults in the room to give each other worried glances.

They didn't want Hiro to end up getting captured again like what happened with Obake… or worse, what happened with Knox.

Fred provided a distraction for the group. "Ooh, oh! Okay, okay can I please have my turn now? I haven't gone yet!"

Honey Lemon smiled. "Okay, Freddie. You're up."

He dramatically inhaled. "Ooh, here it goes. I like too many pickles on my Noodle Burger, I own 59,497 comics, annnnd I speak fluent Lithuanian." Fred scooted over to Baymax, smirking. "Good luck with that."

Baymax looked back at him. "You do not speak fluent Lithuanian."

"This game is a lot less fun when Baymax is cheating by knowing all the answers!" He fell dramatically on the couch.

Gogo deadpanned at him. "Fred, we all knew that one."

"True."

After the end of the night, Hiro waved his friends goodbye and started walking back home, hoping to get a good night's rest before working on the lie detector program.

"Hey Baymax, since when did you know how to tell people are lying?" Ari turned to the healthcare companion.

"It has always been a part of my healthcare capabilities." Baymax explained.

She glanced back at Hiro. "If Baymax can tell when people are lying… how come you're making a program then?"

"It's not accurate, Baymax can only tell if they're displaying symptoms of lying, for someone as tricky as Liv, I need to enhance his lie detecting capabilities." Hiro especially wasn't going to take any risks considering it was Liv.

"And what'll you do when you're proven wrong?"

He glared at his little sister. "I'm not!" But arguing about the subject with Ari for the millionth time wouldn't change things, the sweater girl could be stubborn when she wanted to be.

"Though speaking of lying, I didn't know you're still having weird dreams."

Ari glanced away. "Er… they're more like nightmares, I don't like thinking about them."

"Is everything okay?" Concern trickled in his voice. "Is it about-"

"No it's not about Bridgeton! I'm over that!"

Baymax blinked at her. "That is not true." Hiro gestured to the robot, even he could tell Ari was lying about that particular subject.

"What's it about then?"

She clenched her jaw. "It's… stuff about my parents, like one time I had this bad one where my dad was acting really mean when I asked him about school, or there was this one where my mom stole all my toys because I went into the basement when I was not supposed to."

Hiro blinked as he processed that, Ari was explaining it like it was a twisted nightmare, but considering how scared she had been when first meeting her.

He wondered… were those nightmares, or memories? "Are you sure they're bad dreams?"

"Yes! My parents might be strict… but they're not that strict." Ari crossed her arms. "My mom usually took my toys if I broke a rule anyways, typical parenting."

Strict is an understatement… Hiro paled. He was a rule breaker himself, but he always got scolded by his aunt most of the time, or grounded if it was something like bot-fighting.

He didn't say it aloud, less to stress his sister tonight… but Hiro had a bad feeling that Ari was not only lying to him, but he was lying to herself.

Even if he wasn't able to catch Liv in a lie, he'd at least be able to catch Ari in one.

Ferns and Nerds group chat:

Sienna Kline: gold,jpeg

Sienna Kline: I found this gold bracelet at the jewelry store today. It has the coolest pattern!

Honey Lemon: Aww, did you buy it?

Sienna Kline: Yeah but not for me and David.

David Ferns: Phew

Wasabi: Why don't you like jewelry?

David Ferns: It's itchy and I don't like putting cold metal things on my hands!

Sienna Kline: Friend of mine wanted to send something to his cousin.

Gogo: Oh?

Wasabi: Awww that's sweet of you to do!

Sienna Kline: I know : )

Honey Lemon: Maybe I'll get some jewelry for my lovely gf!

Gogo: Aww Honey

Gogo: You don't have to.

Honey Lemon: Hmm you're right

Honey Lemon: We could go shopping for yarn instead!

Gogo: Much better

Mikan Ferns: Yarn?

Gogo: We have yarn lovers in both our fams. Shush

"There." Hiro grinned, after all his hard work, the chip was done. "I enhanced your lie detector interface." And he even got it done just as school was over.

Ari had brought him lunch awhile ago and was watching him work. "Wow, that's a lot of work put into one tiny chip."

"Hey, those little parts in the chip are big important things." He then pointed to a small watch on his desk, it looked like a normal watch, except it had Baymax's face on it. "This is also a backup detector I built."

She glanced at the watch. "Wow it's so well disguised, I could never tell it's a secret device."

He rolled his eyes at his sister's sarcasm. "Ha-ha, this is just in case Baymax gets into low-battery mode, this doesn't have a lot of battery power, but it'll work."

"Y'know if Liv spots you trying to catch her lying, she is not going to be happy." Ari pointed out, she might not buy into her brother's conspiracy theory, but she didn't want him to get in trouble.

Hiro blinked, his sister had a point. "First, let's test the detector." He cleared his throat. "My name is Fred."

Buzz. Baymax looked down at the angry red face on his screen. "Lie."

"Ha! Perfect." Hiro beamed, then continued. "The sky is green."

Buzz. "Lie."

"Dolphins are fish!" Ari chimed in, which got another buzz from Baymax. "Knew it!"

"Nice." He hummed. "The earth is round."

Ding! The face was a smiling yellow. "True." Baymax stated.

"Then we're ready." Hiro pumped up a fist. "Let's get Liv… and I guess I'll bring a partner in crime along." He glanced at his sister.

Ari was frowning. "I am not coming with you."

"I didn't say you're tagging along" He reassured her. He already had an idea who could help tag along with him and Baymax in mind.

Later…

He found Liv walking down the street, phone in hand as it looked like she was reviewing emails while walking to her destination.

Despite her attention being divided, Hiro still kept a cautious distance on his moped, not wanting to risk being caught.

Baymax was in his charging station by the passenger seat, keeping his energy up until they got a proper chance to spy on the CEO.

"I've never been to a real live stakeout before!" The healthcare companion wasn't the only passenger though, Megan was tagging along, as one of the few people that knew Sycorax wasn't what they seemed. "So exciting!"

"Shh." Hiro reminded her, he had given her the lie detecting watch in case something happened for him to leave.

And if Liv noticed he was spying on her… at least he had an alibi of saying he was coincidentally with a friend in the same area just hanging.

Not to mention Megan could write down any lies they catch, it never hurts to have a second opinion when it comes to investigating these types of things.

"Right, sorry." She chuckled, she was just excited about the idea of finding the truth about the monsters.

As Hiro paused the moped behind a car, trying to see where Liv was going, he got honked at. "Hey!" There was a very angry driver behind them.

"Hello." Baymax greeted the driver.

Hiro chuckled nervously. "Sorry!" He quickly sped away, still hot in pursuit, but parked the moped to the side as Liv walked into a fancy restaurant. Uch. I think it's the one Krei tried taking my aunt to. "Well, I guess we're getting lunch."

"I'm at least getting an appetizer." Megan stated. Hiro gave her a look of confusion. "What? I'm hungry."

"Here you are, a nice table in the back." The waiter's deadpan tone gestured to the table, which was too far away from Liv for Hiro's liking.

"Actually, could we be a little closer to the window?" He pointed over to a closer seat.

"Impossible. That table's reserved."

Buzz. Baymax looked at the waiter. "That is not true."

"Huh." Megan glared at him. "Not cool, dude."

So they snuck behind Liv as they were led to their new table. "Will he be eating?" The waiter gestured to Baymax as he handed them menus.

"I am a robot."

"So I take it that's a no."

"But we need the menu." Hiro grabbed it anyway.

"Always good to have a third opinion when ordering." Megan chuckled, trying to cover for her friend.

The waiter looked like he wanted to be anywhere but here. "Keep it together, Sydney." Then he walked away.

"That was close." Hiro sighed with relief. "Thanks Megan."

Megan smiled at him, then glanced at Liv's table. "Oh, so that's why she's here."

"Hmm?" He turned around as Bluff Dunder walked over to the table and took a seat across from Liv.

"Ms. Amara, thank you for your time." Bluff Dunder adjusted his tie.

"Okay, Baymax." Hiro whispered to the robot. "Listen to what they're saying and Megan, write down any important truths and lies."

"Got it." Megan pulled out a notebook and pen.

"Big fan right here." Buzz. Baymax caught a lie from Bluff right from the start.

"Big fan of yours, Bluff!"

Buzz. "I'm turning that down." Megan muted the volume.

"So, Liv, about your latest research?" Bluff questioned.

"Well, my team and I are working on a cure for a rare disorder." Liv explained. Hiro looked over and saw a yellow smiley, he nudged Megan and she began writing.

"Ooh, tell me more." He grinned. "I'm not an expert, but I'm quite knowledgeable about the subject." That was a lie, according to Baymax. "How's progress on that?"

Liv was happy to feed him more info. "Yes, we're still in the development phase, but a key component is actually gold."

The teens saw the smiley face on the screen. "Gold?" Hiro whispered to Megan.

"Is gold used for medical purposes?" She turned to Baymax.

Baymax silently pulled up an article. Yes, but there are many side effects from using gold."

Whatever disorder Liv was talking about, it must've been dire enough for her to resort to gold for a cure.

"Well, that sounds like an expensive ailment!" Both of them laughed.

"Oh, Bluff, you're too much." Liv waved a hand. "But you're right. It would be expensive, but, luckily, I only need the tiniest amount."

Hiro looked over to Baymax, and noticed his screen was red. "Huh. So she needs a lot of gold…" Then his phone buzzed, a few diners glared at him. "Sorry." He quickly checked it. It was from Gogo.

Gogo: Mr Sparkles at docks. Come ASAP

"Mr. Sparkles, come on…" Hiro grumbled. Of all the times for that jerk to show his ugly mug.

Megan leaned over to him. "What's the problem?"

"I-uh… can't say, emergency." He quickly stumbled out, couldn't lie due to Baymax next to him, so telling a half-truth was better. "But I have to go."

Megan nodded in understanding. "I'll tell you if I find anything." At that moment, Sydney the waiter came back.

"Are you ready to order?"

"Sorry, we have to go!" Hiro ran out of his chair, Baymax waddled after him, Sydney made sure to grab the chair that was stuck to the robot's vinyl skin. "Do you also have to leave?" Sydney asked Megan.

She shook her head. "Nope, but can I look over this menu a bit more before ordering an appetizer? Also I'd like some water please."

He looked less stressed at that. "Sure."

By the time Hiro flew over to the ship Sparkles was attacking, with Gogo also hitching a ride on Baymax, they saw several Mayoi dress Sparkles into scuba gear and he retreated into the water.

"Great." Gogo stared down at the rippling ocean water.

"Don't worry." Hiro told her. "Skymax can bring the underwater gear."

She sighed. "I guess I have to wait here."

"Why?"

"I don't have underwater gear."

"Actually, I've been working on that." As their respective Skymaxes came down, Gogo smiled at what was in hers.

"Dude, you're awesome."

Hiro smirked. "I know." They quickly got into their scuba suits before diving into the cold ocean below. Gogo seemed to have fun testing out her suit by swimming circles around the guys.

"Oh, yeah. I like it." She smirked, looking at her blue-and black scuba suit that had yellow highlights.

"Looks like Sparkles didn't get far." Hiro pointed to the former show host trying to push a crate larger than him.

They swam up to him. "Sorry, Sparkles, but you should've had a better plan." Gogo chastised him.

"Hey, don't be so harsh!" He complained. "I'm on my own here!"

Buzz. Hiro whipped his head over to Baymax. "What?" Then his nerves shot up as there were two screeches into the water.

Two eels with arms swam from behind the crate, glaring at the heroes. One eel was mint-green, the other was cerulean.

Their soulless yellow eyes gave Hiro chills, the eels looked disturbingly familiar to him, but he just couldn't place the feeling.

But as the two creatures swam in sync, it sank in for Hiro as he froze with horror. Oh no, oh no, Liv didn't…

Not to those two… the duo that had a special place in his sister's heart.

"High Voltage?" He stammered. Gogo had a similar look of horror on her face at the idea that the monstrous eels in front of them were the mother-daughter duo.

But when he turned to face Baymax, the yellow smiling face on his chest only gave him goosebumps at the bone-chilling truth.

AN: *evil cackle* guess who's baaaaack! Man it's been way too long, I really needed that break though, and now I am all pumped up and ready to finish Tempest of Hearts!

Lie Detector is one of my fav eps, so it's fun to add my own little twist to it, starting with the truths and a lie game, wish we could've seen the rest of the nerd gang's guesses but it was cool coming up with my own version, and even adding Ari's!

Ari, oh Ari... she's still not sure what's the truth or not, but Hiro's picked up on her denial a little. (I so need to give her a break next episode, I feel like TOH in a nutshell is Ari gets a break 1 ep, she doesn't in the other XD)

Another thing I did was add Megan into the "spying on Liv" segment bc she should've had more plot relevance in the COM arc! And she's pretty good at investigations.

I am not sorry about how I ended the chapter tho, hehehehehehe :3

Now for an old time favorite, Question of the Week: This one's simple, what do you guys think what the rest of the gang's "2 truths and a lie" would be, I shared my own version, now I kind of want to see your version's too

See you guys next week, man it's so good to be back!
