"Come on, come on…" Hiro mumbled under his breath, where were they?

"Hiro, I am concerned about your pacing behavior." Baymax gestured to the robotics genius pacing in a circle. Mochi gave a concerned meow, he was sitting in Baymax's arms and definitely enjoying the view, except seeing Hiro act anxious was making both the calico and robot worried for him. "Aunt Cass is perhaps late due to the traffic on Shimamoto Boulevard."

"Yeah, but it's been half an hour! She should be back with Ari by now!" He'd normally be excited about the day that his sister was released from the hospital, but this level of tardiness was giving him goosebumps!

What if they got into a car accident? What if someone planted a bomb on the street they were driving on? What if someone blew up the hospital and my sister and aunt never made it out-

"Meow!" A loud yowl from Mochi made him look up to his relief as Cass and Ari were walking into the closed cafe. He immediately ran to his sister's side and scooped her into a hug.

"Woah." Ari giggled. "I don't remember you being this affection-" but she returned the hug back, even if it was a little tight.

He noticed that she was wearing the t-shirt they got for her back in New York, since her sweater got ripped beyond repair, to her despair. She still wore the same leggings and flats, but she had a bright blue bandana wrapped around her neck that covered the scar, and her trademarked rosemary pin was still tucked onto her hair.

Cass smiled at them, she waved as Baymax waddled over. "Hey Baymax, we're back."

"Hello Aunt Cass, Hiro was worried an accident would happen due to you being 34 minutes late." The robot explained.

"It was traffic. Also, we had to make a pit-stop."

Hiro frowned. "Pit-stop, did you get food or-" He then noticed the people behind his sister and aunt. "Oh it's you guys." It was the Rosemarys.

"That's harsh." Katie narrowed her eyes at him.

He opened his mouth to say another snappy thing at the feline but his aunt giving him a look stopped that. "Hiro, I know you're still mad, but Elio and Sarah wanted to talk about things since this whole situation is complicated."

"You can say that again… "Ari mumbled, face half-buried by her bandana.

Hiro still felt wary of the parents behind the door. "You're not here to make Ari pack up, are you?"

Both shook their heads. "No of course not!" Sarah protested. "She wants to stay here, and we'll respect her wishes."

That was surprising news to him. "Really?"

"Aunt Cass, what did you mean by Hiro being mad?" Ari turned to their aunt, a look of worry on their face. Was he mad at her? For not remembering sooner?

Cass made a face. "Well…" She had been shocked to find out Ari's connection to the Rosemarys, and a little mad they didn't fill her in on this.

Hiro's reaction had been another, as he was angry at them for not telling the truth, and even after explaining, he still felt a little sour at the whole thing, not that she blamed him, they both needed time to adjust.

Thankfully Elio stepped in to explain. "Let's just say your brother would've thrown hands in your honor if we did try to abandon you at the Lucky Cat."

The adults went to discuss things further in the kitchen, while the kids were awkwardly sitting in the living room. "I wonder what they're talking about." Hiro had thought about sneaking in, but he wanted to spend time with his sister since she was back.

"Probably about living arrangements, Dad brought some of Ari's old stuff with him." Rachel explained, glancing at the bandana-wearing brunette. "Y'know, in case you want it back."

Ari looked offended at the idea she wouldn't want her things. "Of course I want it back! I just want to know what it is."

It hurt seeing how upset his sister was about the fact that she couldn't even remember what stuff she used to own. "You really liked a lot of the adventure books that Mom kept around the house." Rachel started to explain, and Hiro could see sadness in her eyes too.

"She wanted to tell Ari the truth from day one." He glanced over to see Katie lying down on one of the couches, flexing a paw. "But she was scared she'd end up like Lyle."

Hiro approached the blue. "Lyle?"

"Her older brother." Her tail twitched. "He's gone now, because of those people who took her away."

The people who took her away? "Do you mean the Stones?"

Katie's eyes darkened a little. "Not them, but they didn't bring Ari back either."

It looked like she wanted to be left alone, as the blue turned her head away from him, so Hiro turned to his sister. "I can't believe he did that!" Ari had exclaimed.

"Who did what?" Hiro approached, noticing her distress.

Rachel explained it to him. "She's annoyed that the chief of police is bugging Dad because of Sycorax."

"Oh…" Hiro winced. "I'm guessing that's complicated?" Considering the fact that Liv- no Di had been impersonating Liv for months using her company's resources for evil, it must've been a mountain of paperwork.

The scruffy brunette nodded. "Yeah, I don't really know the 'real' Liv." She gestured with air quotes. "But my parents knew her from events, and I don't think she ordered her evil twin-slash-clone to try to destroy the city, but Chief Cruz wants to arrest her for what happened anyways."

"Seriously?" He frowned. "It wasn't Liv's fault, I was this close to getting mutated if she didn't intervene." That was scary to think about… how he was just a moment away from losing his free will.

Ari frowned in sympathy as she placed a hand on her shoulder. "We can change the subject." She offered, Sycorax was a sore subject for her too.

"Besides, I have a very important question for Hiro." Rachel turned to the robotics genius. "Do you know about the… thing?"

"Thing?" He narrowed his eyes in confusion.

"The… the water thing?"

What was she talking about? "I have no idea what you're saying."

"She's asking if you knew about Ari's water powers!" Katie exclaimed.

"Katie!" Rachel blushed at the feline's bluntness.

Hiro could only roll his eyes at the drama. "I already know about them, you don't have to be weird."

"Yeah I'm pretty sure I told you that Hiro knows." Ari waved it off. "Hey, do you know if they're genetic or something? My memories are kind of fuzzy when it comes to them." It creeped her out, especially when she sometimes heard a memory of someone trying to get her to use her powers for evil.

Rachel shook her head. "They're not and before you ask, you didn't want to talk about how you got them because you told me it was painful."

"Oh…" Now that she thought about it, maybe it was a good thing she didn't remember stuff about her waterbending.

The adults coming back into the room got their attention. "Are we going already?" Katie stood up.

"Yeah, as exciting as this all is, we do have to get going." Sarah explained.

"Come back anytime though!" Cass told them. "You guys are basically family now."

Elio smiled a little at her words. "That's really kind of you to say, I can see why Ari says you're an amazing aunt."

"Aww now look who's being kind!"

Hiro glanced over to Rachel. "Does this mean we're siblings now?" It would make sense since they both considered Ari a sister…

Rachel shrugged. "Dunno if we're at that point but we can at least be chill towards each other."

"That's fair."

"See ya later nerds!" Katie snickered as the family left the cafe, with Ari giving the feline one last glare before the cafe closed.

Since the city was recovering from its most recent invasion, the cafe wasn't open today. "Well I'll be catching up on my shows today." Cass declared, and Mochi followed her.

"I think I wanna go to the park, what about you?" Ari turned to her brother.

Before he could respond, his phone buzzed. "Hello?" He answered.

"Hiro, we have a problem." Gogo said on the other line. "There are monsters on Torii Gate Bridge."

He paled. "You're kidding."

"I'm not. There's some others downtown that the others are handling. I need you and Baymax to come over ASAP."

"I'll be there soon." He ended the call. "Monsters at the bridge." Hiro explained before Ari opened her mouth.

Terror flashed in her eyes. "Is it her? The Mayoi?"

"Gogo would've mentioned it." Hiro shook his head. "Maybe hide in the garage until further notice, if it is what we think it is, then you could grab the underwater gear and run for the docks."

"Hopefully not." She frowned. "Good luck."

"Thanks." He'd need it.

Who knew what these weird monsters were?

Meanwhile on the Torii Gate Bridge…

The chaos that was happening on the bridge was announced by three pairs of feet walking down the bridge.

"Oh wow!" In the front of the group, a brown-haired boy was admiring the view, blue eyes glancing at the city in front of them. His outfit was a short-sleeved jacket, baggy pants, fingerless gloves, odd looking shoes, and a crown necklace. "This is so cool!"

"C'mon Sora!" One of his friends called out to him, who was a walking, talking, white-feathered duck wearing a blue and gold outfit.

Walking alongside him was a walking dog that was the tallest out of the trip, outfit shaded in green, goggles rested upon his hat, and his ears flopped along with the wind.

Sora pouted at the friend who spoke. "Aww, but I wanna look at the big city!"

"It does seem pretty exciting!" The dog grinned.

"Yeah! I feel so metropolitan… uh, cosmopolitan?" He struggled to find the words.

"Non-apolitan!" The duck shouted, with the other two snickering at him. "Now what?" He noticed Sora pulled up his phone.

He continued tapping through the phone. "I gotta tell Riku what a blast this place is."

"But we just got here." The dog pointed out. "We haven't even done anything yet."

"Blast?" The duck gestured with his arms. "I'll show you a blast!"

BOOM!

The bridge shook and they all yelped. Ahead of them was a large smoke cloud, dark flying monsters circling it.

"The Heartless!" The dog shouted. Out of nowhere, he summoned a shield, while the duck and boy summoned a wand and a sword that looked like a key respectively.

"C'mon!" Though mid-charge a blur went flying above their heads. "Woah!" They turned and saw it was a woman with yellow armor who had crashed a few feet away.

"Speed Queen! You okay?!" Looking back over there-

"What in…?" A red blur blur flew over. It stopped and landed near the woman, another boy with purple armor not older than him was riding on the red thing's back, then landed to check his teammate.

"Oh no…" He gasped. "Red Panda!"

The red creature called Red Panda looked at the unmoving Speed Queen. "Speed Queen's suit has shielded her from a major injury, but the blow she sustained to her head has caused a mild concussion." As the purple armor boy paled, Red Panda continued. "We should take caution and not move her until we can fully stabilize her head."

"Got it."

Having no tact, Sora shouted up at the robot. "Oh, cool! That's a robot!" Making the other two see the trio run up.

Red Panda waved. "Hello, I am here to assist and help. Please do not worry citizens, we will take care of the monsters." He was too busy fawning over the robot.

"Uh, Sora. Remember our other problem?" The dog reminded him.

The duck had a deadpan expression. "The Heartless."

"Whoops! Oh yeah!" And went running back.

"Hey!" The purple armored superhero called to them before they got out of earshot. "Who are you?"

"Oh. I'm Sora!" He waved.

"Donald." The duck replied.

"And I'm Goofy." The dog also waved.

"Name's… well I'm called Captain." The purple armored superhero introduced himself. "You know those monsters?"

Sora beamed. "Yeah! I've fought them hundreds of times!" He then paused. "Why're you called just 'Captain?'"

He didn't notice there was a faint blush on the captain's cheeks. "Well, I'm the leader of Big Hero 6. That's me, Red Panda, and Speed Queen." He gestured to his teammates. "And three others."

"Nice to meet you." Sora waved. "I'd love to chat, but we gotta defeat those Heartless first!"

"I would like to help Sora, Donald, and Goofy in defeating the monsters." Red Panda told him. "You should stay to administer care to Speed Queen."

"Right, buddy. Just don't overdrive mode, extra battery isn't on regular gear yet." He nodded, glancing back to Sora. "Good luck."

"Thanks!" Sora grinned, he then turned to his teammates, and ran at the monsters.

Hiro probably was panicking when he allowed a stranger and his talking animal friends help out, but then again Gogo had a concussion and he didn't know what to do, at least Baymax was helping out.

A rocket fist hit one of the flying monsters, Nice. He thought. Sora called them "Heartless", didn't he? The boy destroyed a monster with his key shaped weapon in an impressive manner.

"Thundaga!" Donald shouted, and lightning bolts struck the Heartless down.

It was quite a shock to Hiro when he saw that. "What the heck?" There weren't any clouds nearby, how could he have done that?!

Did he have powers like Ari? Or maybe the duck's wand was a lightning rod? Nope, one icy attack debunked that theory.

"Sora, look out!" Goofy exclaimed, a missile had nearly struck him down, but Sora leapt out of the way. "Go from car to car!"

The Heartless had set up cannons in the maze of cars. With skill, Sora slid between the gaps and shot bolts of energy from his key weapon.

"Look above you!" Donald pointed out, but Baymax's rocket fist had destroyed those missiles. "Thanks!"

"You are welcome." Baymax replied. Even after the cannons were destroyed, the bridge still shook.

Hiro froze, sensing something on his visor. "There's a big one stomping your way!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.

His warning came on time, as the big Heartless coming down the road threw a car that nearly hit Sora and Donald. "Woah!" Goofy deflected another thrown car with his shield.

"It threw a car at us!" Sora gripped his blade, something blue tinged the edges of it. "Blizzard Claws!" Icy claws formed at both of his hands, Hiro practically marveled at the sight. Where did those come from?!

What kind of powers did Sora and his friends have?

More flying Heartless dove in, and Sora had slashed them in precise blows.

The big one pulled an axe and swung, another thunder attack from Donald made it stagger, giving Sora an opportunity to deliver more blows. But then the Heartless swung around on its axe, kicking up rocks and knocking everyone on their feet.

Hiro winced seeing Goofy take the brunt of the attack.

"Sora!" Donald raised his wand, it glowed slightly orange.

The key wielding boy got the message. "Right!" His claws turned back into his blade. "Meteor!" They shouted, rocks came from the sky and struck the Heartless.

"Gawrsh! Good blow!" Goofy nodded, throwing his shield at its leg, making the Heartless fall over.

With one final strike, Sora leapt, blade in the air. "Diamond Dust!" Strikes that looked like sparkles exploded on the Heartless, and it exploded in glittering dust.

Hiro felt his jaw drop at the explosive finale, he and Gogo had been struggling against the creature.

No matter what attack they used, it barely phased the creatures, and Gogo had gotten hurt when she took a hit for him, it almost looked like the end of the road.

But then Sora and his odd friends came and helped, using powers he had never seen before, like they had just popped out of nowhere…

Who were these strange heroes?

He was still in shock when Sora, Donald, and Goofy ran back over, Baymax still at their side.

"You appear to be in shock." The robot noted.

"You don't say?!" Hiro exclaimed. "How did you do that?"

Sora frowned. "Do what?"

"The thing! With your blade and you and Donald with the lightning and meteor and ice and glitter!" He gestured. "It came out of nowhere!"

"Wasn't it obvious?" Donald deadpanned. "It was magic."

"Magic?" Hiro frowned. "Magic isn't really a thing, then again…" I've seen weirder.

Maybe it wasn't strange that Donald and Sora's strange powers could be classified as such, there had been cases of that before, according to his cousin at least. "Uh, was it magic with your blade?"

"The Keyblade?" Sora's blade and the other's weapons vanished into thin air. "Yep! My Keyblade helps." He then noticed Gogo still unconscious, and equipped the Keyblade yet again.

"Sora?" Goofy raised an eyebrow, as the boy knelt, a soft glow forming at the tip of his blade.

"Curaga." Sora whispered as the glow surrounded Gogo. Just as it ended, she shot upwards.

"What the?!" She shook her head, placing a hand to it.

Baymax blinked. "Your concussion has healed." The robot looked at Sora. "Thank you, Sora."

"No problem!" He grinned, then sat down. "Ow… I think I pulled something."

Donald shook his head at him. "You still haven't recovered from using all that magic back in the Caribbean."

Sora pouted, crossing his arms. "Okay. Who are you?" Gogo gestured to the three.

"I'm Sora."

"Donald."

"Goofy!"

"Huh." She narrowed her eyes.

"They defeated the monsters." Hiro explained. "We should probably explain to the others at the-"

"Guys!"

"Too late they're here." Gogo stated, as Fred was bouncing over, Honey Lemon sliding to her girlfriend, and Wasabi slipping on the chem slide.

Fred was panting heavily. "We… we chased them off… They took a lot of hits." He wheezed, then fell down.

"He's being dramatic." Honey Lemon reassured them.

"Who are these guys?" Wasabi pointed to the trio.

Hiro pinched the bridge of his nose. "Can we pick up this subject back at the garage?" A chorus of nods made him relax.

When they got to the garage however, they had been alerted that there had been an article written about the new monsters… and not in the positive light.

Breaking News:

MYSTERIOUS MONSTER ATTACK!

Crisis struck San Fransokyo when a horde of unidentified creatures attacked the populace without warning.

Local superhero team Big Hero 6 was nearly deep-sixed when they came to the rescue, raising questions about how prepared they are to protect the city.

Will another group of crime-fighters rise up in our hour of need? Or is there no force capable of containing this new threat?

In the opinion of this humble reporter, the city's days are numbered, so grab your wallets, keys, kids, and pets, and get your kiesters to the airport before it's too late.

-Ambrose Williams

"Not cool." Gogo glared at the article pulled up.

"People like spectacle, not truth." Honey Lemon frowned. They had decided to trust the trio of heroes, chilling in the garage with their normal outfits, when Ari had brought up a report one of her classmates posted online.

"Ignore Ambrose." Ari told them. "He's a pessimist, said something similar after Bridgeton."

"Wow, rude." Hiro rolled his eyes.

Wasabi nodded in agreement. "Yeah, who needs quality reporting when you can just make stuff up?" The teen genius closed the article tab on his computer.

Fred crossed his arms. "I don't get it. Didn't they see how awesome we are protecting the city? I mean the other day we-"

"Don't mention it." Ari covered her ears. The comic fan clamped his jaw, a look of guilt on his face.

"Sure those things did a couple of hits, but we had our gear! And my fire blast!"

"Well, it didn't matter." Honey Lemon pointed out. "They beat us badly." She shot Gogo a concerned look, Gogo looked back and flashed a reassuring smile.

The engineer then cleared her throat. "Where the heck did they even come from?"

"Well, why don't we ask the guys who stopped them in the first place? "Wasabi gestured to the trio of musketeers who had been watching them chatter.

Ari agreed with him. "Yeah, I wanna know who these guys are too!"

Hiro got up from the computer. "Well, I guess we should introduce ourselves then." He then began pointing to the others. "You've already met me, Gogo, and Baymax. The rest are Honey Lemon aka Chem Girl, Wasabi aka Chop Chop, and Fred aka Flame Jumper." He gestured to the other three, they all gave various greetings to their guests.

"And then there's me!" Ari pointed to herself. "I'm not a member of Big Hero 6, but Hiro's my brother so I know about them! I'm Ariel, but you can call me Ari!"

Sora gave her a wave. "Oh cool! You're the second person I know named Ariel, I haven't seen her in awhile though since she lives in At-" Donald and Goofy immediately shushed him, muttering about order and meddling. "Errr, we live oceans apart."

"Ah, bummer."

Hiro then pointed to the trio. "Ari, these three are Sora, Donald, and Goofy."

"Nice to meet you." Goofy waved.

The Keyblade wielder had a goofy grin. "Hi! We're the, uh…" he paused, looking at the computer screen, then looking back to the superheroes. "Keyblade Hero 3!" He and the other two posed.

There was awkward silence, Baymax was the one who broke it. "I am detecting minute contractions in your faces and shoulders, perhaps due to the garage's brisk temperature." His body glowed orange. "To remedy that, I will give each of you a hug and warm you with my internal heat source."

It was no surprise Ari and Fred dove for a hug first, soaking up the robot's warmth.

Meanwhile, Donald glared at Sora. "Hey! Why'd you say that?!"

Even Goofy was pouting. "Sora, you know Donald and I don't have Keyblades."

"So? We're heroes, aren't we?" Sora gestured.

"Not here we're not!" The duck stomped.

Gogo sharply whistled, ending their banter and making the boys turn to face her. "The monsters. Tell us how you were able to take them down."

"What are they?" Fred asked.

Sora nodded, clearing his throat. "They're called the Heartless, and they're drawn to the darkness inside people's hearts."

"Ooh, now we're talking! Light versus darkness. Classic conflict!"

Wasabi glared at the comic fan. "Would you calm down, Fred? This is serious, people have gone missing!" The comic fan shrunk back. "Drawn to darkness inside people's hearts?"

"If someone was consumed by their anger, jealousy, and hatred, they could succumb to the darkness and become a Heartless." Goofy elaborated.

"Or if their heart is stolen by a Heartless, that heart is turned into a Heartless itself." Donald added.

Ari raised her hand. "What happened to the body then?"

"That's another complicated issue." Sora winced, his body in a certain tenseness. "We can explain more if push comes to shove."

Honey Lemon sighed. "Guys, we're getting off topic, the problem is we don't know how to fight the Heartless."

Gogo stared at her. "Wait. So we're just going to give up?"

"With our current skill set, my analysis places our chances at-"

"You don't have to crunch the numbers Baymax." Hiro pointed out.

The Keyblade wielder flashed them a comforting smile. "Hey, don't sweat it. The three of us will go take care of the Heartless for you." Then turned to his friends. "Right, Donald, Goofy?" Both of them nodded in agreement, preparing to leave the garage.

"Wait." Hiro spoke up. They couldn't just sit there and let their new allies handle this by themselves. "We're going too."

"We've got it." Donald reassured him.

He shook his head. "We have to help, San Fransokyo is our home, and we want to protect it." The gang nodded in agreement with him.

Sora nodded back at them, a silent agreement.

Wasabi broke it. "Great, buuut… don't we need a plan?"

"We train up!" Fred exclaimed. "When heroes are brought low, they get new powers-"

"Hiro made you guys upgrades not even a week ago." Ari pointed out.

Hiro was thankful for his sister's support, but he got this. "Well in Fred's defense, the ultra armor is still out of commission thanks to Bessie, and I haven't put the upgrades on the regular gear yet."

Fred nodded. "Like I was saying… it's shugyo time!"

"Did you read that in Captain Fancy?" Gogo deadpanned. "Or what, Greek's Quarterly?"

He took offense to that. "Hey! It's a word that means deep training montage, and considering this threat is basically out of this world-" He did not notice the trio sweating behind him. "We need to dive into some serious training!"

"Fred's got a point." Hiro had a grin on his face as a plan came into his head. "I may have an idea."

It was a little odd… but this new threat was odd too, they were going to help their new friends out, as that was what Big Hero 6 did best.
