Percy woke up to cheering and yelling, he knew what time it was. It was time for Capture the Flag. He shuffled out of his sleeping bag and followed the other unclaimed demigods out of the Hermes cabin. While some of the demigods gathered with the Athena cabin to gather blue painted armor, Percy diverted in his path and went to the Ares cabin to put on his red-painted armor. As Annabeth started to announce her plan to the other demigods, she noticed that Percy wasn't in the crowd. She stops her speech and follows him to the Ares' side.

"What are you doing?" She asks. She gives him a glare with her grey stormy eyes.

"Clarisse offered to let me join her team," Percy stated, he picks up his helmet and puts it on his head.

"Clarisse?" Annabeth looks at Percy confused. "I thought you were supposed to be on my team?"

Percy noticed how irritated Annabeth was slowly getting, maybe she did have a plan that was supposed to involve him, but he just ruined it by joining the Ares cabin. She continued to stare at him, Clarisse walks up behind Percy and places her hand on his shoulder.

"What's going on Percy? Is the Princess bothering you?" Clarisse remarked, she smiled crazily at Annabeth.

"Don't call me that," Annabeth growled. "Clarisse, why did you offer Percy to join your side? I thought you wanted to get back at him, he covered you in toilet water!"

"At first I did, but then I realized how powerful he could be joining my side," Clarisse smiled. She stared at Annabeth, her dark eyes filling at Pride for finally getting a small victory against the Daughter of Athena. "What is it that you always say? Oh right, he chose wisely."

Annabeth closed her fists tightly, it seemed like she wanted to punch Clarisse, but she held back.

"Percy, I strongly urge you to reconsider," Annabeth says through gritted teeth.

"Calm down Princess, the punk made his choice, you should respect that. Come on punk, let's talk strategy," Clarisse pushed Percy away from Annabeth, leaving the blonde alone to seethe in her anger.

Clarisse and Percy joined up with the Ares cabin, Percy looked around and saw that the Ares cabin joined up with the Dionysus, Hephaestus, Demeter, and Aphrodite cabins. Percy spotted two familiar faces, the two Ares kids that he soaked with sewer water a few days ago, they glared at him.

"Clarisse, what is he doing here?" They pointed at Percy with their sword, eyes glaring.

"He's on our side, I've been training him. He's sloppy, but he has potential. He picked us over the Athena cabin," Clarisse explained.

The two Ares kids seemed to calm down. Clarisse then got in front of the crowd to speak her war inspiring speech. Percy felt at home, he didn't feel like he was in the way of anything. He was glad to finally pick the right side.

"ARES CABIN! LET'S SHOW THOSE ATHENA PUNKS THAT WAR WINS OVER WISDOM!" Clarisse shouted.

The rest of the crowd shouted with her, and Percy joined in as well.

Clarisse lead the Ares side to the North, she looked around in the crowd of marching demigods for Percy, and she pulled him to her side.

"I want you to help guard our flag, Annabeth might have a trick up her sleeve, so watch out for her," Clarisse warned. "I'll be on the front lines, leading the charge."

"Understood," Percy nods.

Percy continued up to the North, where he spots the red-painted Ares flag mounted on a pole on the ground. The other demigods stood guard around the forest, the Aphrodite kids sat out from the battle, it seemed like the Ares kids were actually doing most of the fighting.

He heard a loud horn blow in the distance, metal clashed against metal, kids fighting kids, the battle is going on strong. He didn't notice anyone trying to go for the flag, maybe he got off easy. It was his first battle after all.

Percy held the back of his head sting, he shouted in pain. He looked down to see a smooth skipping stone near his feet. Where did that come from? He felt rocks continuously hit his body, Percy tried to block it with his oversized shield, but he couldn't tell where the rocks were coming from. A Hephaestus kid came up to Percy and tried to help block the unknown rock attacks.

"Go! I got the flag. It looks like someone has it out for you dude," The Hephaestus kid says, they stood by the flag.

Percy ran away from his post as the rocks continued to fire at his head. Did they enchant the rocks or something? He was only at Camp Half-Blood for a short time, but he's pretty sure if it's possible for demigods to exist, rocks can be enchanted to be thrown by didn't feel any more rocks attack him, so maybe whoever was throwing them finally called it quits. He stopped running and stood by a small creek going through the forest. Before Percy could finally take a breath of relief, he fell down to the ground. How did he fall to the ground, while standing up?

"I don't know why you joined up with Clarisse, but it's going to be the last mistake you ever made," Annabeth's voice boomed angrily.

Percy whipped his head around, he can hear Annabeth, but he couldn't see her. He felt a punch land right on his face, and he swung his sword blindly, trying to find her.

"I thought you were my ticket out," Annabeth ranted. "I thought you had some common sense, Clarisse is a bully! As soon as you turn your back, she's going to stab you with her spear!"

Percy felt himself being pushed, he fell into the creek.

"Thank you for running away from your flag," Annabeth taunts. "It would be easier to take it now."

Percy suddenly felt himself get a boost in power, he quickly got up and the water willed into a small wave and splashed into the invisible Annabeth, which revealed her position, which was right in front of him.

With his new heightened senses, Percy swung his sword near Annabeth's head blindly. He heard a loud high pitched scream, he hoped that he didn't cut her hair, or worse her face. The wave died down and Percy spotted Annabeth, who was now revealed from her invisibility. Annabeth crumbled to the ground and holds something close to her chest, it was a New York Yankees cap sliced clean in half.

Percy wanted to ask about her cap, but he suddenly heard roars of cheering. The Ares cabin had the Athena flag. Clarisse, followed by her crowd of siblings ran to Percy and picked him up, and hoisted him up in the air to celebrate.

"They never stood a chance!" Clarisse shouted.

Percy is put back on the ground, he joined in on the cheering, but he focused his look on Annabeth, who was still holding the sliced-up Yankees cap in her hands.

"Did you slice up her cap?" Clarisse asks Percy.

"It was an accident, I'm just glad I didn't slice her nose off or did something far worse," Percy replied.

Annabeth walked up to Percy, she was trying to hold back the tears in her eyes.

"I will never forgive you for this," Annabeth spat at Percy.

Percy felt guilty, that cap meant something to her and he destroyed it. It seemed unique too, hiding her with invisibility, it must've been her magical item.

Before anyone could say anything more, a loud growl is heard. Percy saw a big black dog jump from the shadows and attack him. Everyone started to scream "Hellhound!" and panicked. Chiron killed the Hellhound by shooting three arrows into the hound's back, the hound later disintegrated into dust.

Percy groaned in pain, the Hound attacked his arm. Clarisse helped Percy up.

"Can we get some ambrosia please?" She called out.

"Wait," Percy groaned, he slowly limped over and stepped into the creek. After only a few seconds, the wounds on his arm started to heal up, and everyone gasped. "What?"

"I knew it," Annabeth muttered. "This isn't good…"

"Oh, my gods!" Clarisse looked at Percy in shock. "You're being claimed!"

Percy looked above his head, a glowing green trident floated above his head.

"It is decided then, All hail Percy Jackson! Son of Poseidon, Ruler of the Seas, Bringer of Earthquakes, and Creator of horses!" Chiron announced.

Everyone bowed to Percy, even a reluctant Annabeth.

Now nothing would ever be the same for Percy again.
