Fon couldn't sleep. He had tried meditating his anger away, but it wasn't working. He could feel the fury burning through his veins. He was angry at Colonnello, he had kissed Skull. Had dared to put his lips on her. He was angry at Viper; the greedy miser had used their gender revel to get the Rain to kiss his Cloud. But mostly he was furious with himself.
Viper may have placed the bargain, but Fon had agreed to it. True, he hadn't known what he was agreeing to, but he should have found out just what the miser wanted for the information. Ignorance was not an excuse. He never would have allowed being ignorant to stay his hand, he had always felt a certain amount of derision for those who were ignorant of what they were getting themselves into.
To have the tables turned was not a feeling he relished. The sight of Skull furious was breath taking, but that hurt in those gem-colored eyes had made him feel as low as dirt. Combined with the other knowledge he had gained…well he wasn't pleased not with his bond mates and not with himself.
The single piece of information he had gained that he did like was that HE had been Skull's first kiss, and how that was possible he had no idea. Yet even that knowledge was overshadowed by the fact that he had stolen it, and she hadn't given him her first kiss. A low growl escaped his lips as he opened his eyes to stare at the ceiling of his room.
He hissed in frustration as he stood from his bed, his bare feet padded against the hardwood floor. He opened it just a bit when he heard voices, curious as to what it was, he pulled his door ajar just enough for the words to wash over him.
"Thank you. Next time please don't use me to annoy Fon. I know you have something against him, and I respect that. I don't care what it is, but I am not a possession to be used, regardless of what you and the others often times think." It was Skull's voice, soft and sweet like a tinkering bell sounding in the gloom of the hallway.
He peered out to see his Mist's cloaked form walking away from Skull's room. The light gleamed off something and he tensed as he looked at Skull to see shards of glass still impaling the small form. He moved before she could shut the door, his arm swinging out to force it open.
"W... What the hell do you want Fon?" Skull demanded, her eyes like ice as she looked at him, but he wasn't paying it any attention. Shards of glass from the shattered window were indeed embedded into her skin. He reached out; his hand trembled just slightly as he grabbed her arm. They were far deeper than they looked. It was no wonder she hadn't pulled them out. They were the only thing stopping the blood from freely flowing.
"You should have had Reborn fix this." He murmured as he dug his phone out with his free hand. She glared but he wasn't interested in fighting her. There was no way it wasn't painful.
"Chaos?" Came the familiar greeting.
"Skulls room if you will please and bring Verde." He responded before hanging up. Not bothering with waiting for an answer. He knew the Hitman would do as asked, if for no other reason than to assuage his own curiosity.
"Fon, get out of my room." Skull growled but Fon was not in the mood to listen. He moved forcefully, pinning her against himself as he took a seat on the bed, his own larger frame wrapped around her smaller one. "Get off me before I kick you in the balls." She snarled as she struggled in his hold only to get a soft, deadly hiss from the man.
She turned to see the blood red color of his eyes; his flames barely contained. "Stop moving Skull. I won't be held responsible for my actions if you don't." He tried to keep his voice soft and gentle as his flames demanded that he disintegrate the glass, but he knew very well that if he did and they were as deep as they looked then he could hurt her.
"Fon?" Reborn's voice called bringing his gaze to his Sun. He saw the weariness in both Reborn and Verde's gazes as they took them in.
"If you will please." He said, his voice taunt.
"Lackey?" Reborn questioned, moving his eyes to the glass shards his own eyes opened wider before he was moving. "What the fuck!" He hissed grabbing her arm, and Fon knew the man was trying to be gentle but the hiss that left Skull's lips from the forced movement had his flames churning.
"These are deep. And there is a number of them." Verde stated, his voice analytical as he studied the different pieces in her arm.
"She has them in her back as well." Fon admitted and was not at all surprised when Reborn reached over and hauled him up so he could get a look.
"What the hell is your problem?" Skull growled.
"Your hurt." Reborn's voice was almost black with fury. "You should have come to me instead of sitting in here pouting like a damn child!"
"This…" Skull stopped before laughter bubbled from her, and Fon wondered if perhaps she had suffered some blood loss. "Why would I come to you? To any of you?" She asked breathless from her laughing spell. "You have done far worse to me than this. This doesn't even rank up to the top hundred of injuries I've gotten by one of you, or from coming to help one of you and never, never had any of you cared. Why would I come to you when the last time I asked for help you all made it abundantly clear I was on my own." She sneered and both Reborn and Fon flinched from her.
"Get out of my room. All three of you." She said, her voice firm and filled with resolve as she looked from one to another. "I haven't needed your help with any of my injuries in the forty years I have known you, I don't need your help now."
