Colonnello never thought he would be happy to have a menu placed in front of him. His mind was spinning. How in the hell did Skull have that information? He had buried his past a long time ago, and Natalia was married with grandchildren now. That anyone could drag up that kind of intel left shivers down his back. Not even Viper should have been able to dig that up.
He focused on the menu and his mind went blank. What the actual fuck?
Steak for the hungry werewolf: still mooing and ready for the hunt.
Salad marinated in Virgins blood for the vegetarian Vampire
Crustacean of the deep for the Mermaid in your life
Liver for the Hag
He looked up; his eyes wide to see the Lacky smirking at him. "Fon was partial to the Dragons breath." She said with a shrug. "It's spicy, should have seen him when we were cursed, you know our bodies couldn't handle it. It was fun to watch him suffer through it because he was being a stubborn bastard and refused to try something else."
"Do I want to know what Reborn got?" He asked with a weary sigh, his eyes looking back down to the menu.
"He was rather bland. Got the Steak well done with a side salad. If you're not feeling adventurous you should turn the menu over." He looked up and blinked before turning it over.
A sigh escaped his lips. This was much more like it. Steak, chicken, salad, pork with nothing weird. "Do Sirs need a moment?" The waiter asked coming back over with two large cups frothing over, placing them delicately on the table.
"Mmm, I'll take my usual please." Skull stated passing the menu over that she had not even opened.
"I'll take the Steak medium well, with Caesar salad and a bread stick." He muttered as he closed up the menu and passed it back over. "Your restaurant has some twisted since of humor Kora." He tried to make his voice as disapproving as he could and heard the man snort and mutter about uneducated muggles as he walked off.
He eyed the drink in front of him for a moment before letting out a sigh, his eyes raised to see the Lackey was already drinking hers. He took a small sip, unsure of just what he had gotten himself into. This was the last time he listened to his Storm. His eyes widened.
"Good, isn't it?" Skull asked with a large grin. "Tastes like a less sticky butterscotch. I could drink this stuff all day."
"Yea, it's good Kora." He muttered. "You don't like us much, do you?" He asked, the words coming out before he could stop them. "I mean I don't blame you. We weren't very nice to you but..." He trailed off as she raised an eyebrow.
"Would you like you if you were me?" She asked sounding genuinely curious as to his answer.
"Probably not." He grumbled after a pause.
"I shouldn't have kissed you yesterday, Kora. I…I wanted to apologize for it. No matter what the others had agreed to, you were right you aren't currency and…"
"No, you shouldn't have." Skull interrupted, her smile sliding off her face, her eyes narrowed as she studied him. A slow sigh escaped her lips. "You're an idiot Nello. The worst part is you're not stupid, you just don't think your actions through. It was the first thing after the Curse I noticed. Your brash and run headlong into things. Like the curse. You remind me too much of me when I was a kid, the only difference is I outgrew it, and you didn't." She paused, her hand coming up to play with the ends of her hair as she looked at him.
He felt like a little kid being scolded for acting stupid by their mother. "You and Reborn insisted that I join Carcassa, regardless of what I wanted and then you threw a holy hissy fit for attacking Mafia Land with them. You didn't like it, but it was a problem of your own making, and it never crossed your mind that I had little to no say in it." She took a deep breath and exhaled, her annoyance clear.
"Yesterday you kissed me, not because I am someone you like but to pay off a debt. You are a big brother, and by all accounts a dutiful big brother. What would you have done to someone who had treated your sister like that?" She asked and he stilled. Fury rolled inside of him.
If Nat had told him some asshole had dared to use her in such a fashion, he would have killed them. No questions asked. He wouldn't have even asked for an explanation.
"I'm sorry Kora." His voice was barely above a whisper as he sunk into his seat, his eyes looking at her pleadingly.
"I know." She said with a soft exhale. "Unlike Viper, and Fon, and…well all of the others. I do know your sorry Nello. That doesn't actually change anything you know?"
He nodded his acceptance. "I don't know if it means anything to you, but I don't think Fon's playing with you Kora. He is interested." He offered.
"It doesn't." She responded as their food was placed on the table. She had what looked like stew and bread. She gave a smile to the man who walked off before continuing. "Fon isn't interested in me Nello. He's interested in what he sees as a challenge. He knows I hid from you all for years, that takes dedication which he likes. He knows I'm not what you all think, he wants to know what I'm hiding. What I can do, and what it means for the dynamics of our bond. He isn't used to not getting his way, and that puts him on edge."
"I'd like to make it up to you Kora." He took a bite of his food, but his eyes were locked on his Cloud.
"What exactly would you like to make up to me Colonnello? The kiss is over and done with. I'm not even mad anymore."
"Just disappointed, in all of us." His voice was as gentle as he could make it and she hesitated before nodding.
"Well, that's one of the things I would like to make up to you, but I want to make it all up. I shouldn't have treated you the way I did Kora. I would of killed someone for treating Nat like that, and I…I want to make up for it."
"Forty years is a long time to make up for Colonnello. I guess we could start over, make a new beginning." She grumbled and he held out his hand making her blink before a bemused expression took over. She placed her hand in his.
"Andre Thatcher but everyone calls me Colonnello, world's strongest Rain." He smiled, his eyes twinkling, and she sighed but couldn't help an amused smile from tugging at her lips.
"Aconitum Oleander Lilly Potter-Black, and if you tell any of the others my name I will kill you, slowly. I prefer Skull De Mort. Immortal Stuntman, dare devil and worlds strongest Cloud."
