The Mayor stood, tipping his hat (and his head) to guests every day, reciting his lines.

He was an iconic part of Phantom Manor, though not quite as iconic as The Phantom and Melanie themselves. And he knew it.

He also know he wasn't quite his own character. Or unique - exactly. He had the voice of the Haunted Mansion's Ghost Host, and the body and face of Journey Into Imagination's Dreamfinder.

Sometimes he thought about them and what they were like.

Were they nice or were they not? What did they enjoy doing? What were their hobbies? Did they speak French too? Or another language?

The Mayor would never meet them, and he knew that. The Ghost Host was just not a part of the Phantom Manor storyline, and Dreamfinder was now in storage at the Walt Disney Archives.

But he did wonder if they ever thought of him too.

A/N:

It is true. The Mayor of Thunder Mesa - and now Phantom Canyon - is made from the mould of Dreamfinder! And recites lines the original Ghost Host says in The Haunted Mansion (like "Welcome, foolish mortals!"). Gotta be weird to be an iconic character that is also splice of two different iconic characters.
