Just because you have someone, doesn't mean you appreciate them...

A Month and two days later

Blade slammed against blade, metal scratching and ringing throughout the forest. Kagami swore internally as he was pushed back by Yugao's remarkable strength, no matter how much he trained with Guy or his own past training the woman was a beast. Pulling back he slashed again, then kneed her, and finally sent a punch to her unprotected elbow, all blocked with minimum effort. She smirked at him from behind her blade, and he felt a rush of cold wash down his spine. Pushing her away, he flipped back, over a shadow clone of hers that slashed down where he was standing.

Landing on his feet, he charged his blade with wind chakra and sent a slash of his own to her unprotected back, only to have the clone easily stop his blade with her own. She didn't even need chakra, her strength was enough. Pulling back, she made him stumble before kicking him hard into a tree and pinning him to the tree when both the original Yugoa and her clone placed their blades at his throat.

"My win."

"Well duh, you are miles above me."

She laughed, dismissing her clone and helping him to stand. Her hands glowed green as she healed not only the small cuts he had received during their hour-long fight, but the small blisters on his palm he managed to accrue from holding his weapon so long. "You are doing exceptionally well, you have gained remarkable skill with your blade in the month and change I have been teaching you... I have a question though, how did he notice my clone? My stealth is rather high and you are not good enough to detect my clone through your senses alone."

He frowned. "I... sort of felt her. It was like a rush of cold on my spine."

Her eyes widened. "That would make you a sensor... but you wouldn't have been tested properly for that since you also said you had to learn how to read on your own and help Naruto at the same time, Naturally... and I imagine that your increased chakra control has been helping too, your balanced spiritual chakra and so on." She kneeled before him putting a hand on his forehead, pushing in with her chakra. "Your chakra is responding, you are definitely a sensor. Good news indeed, I am as well, I will help you master your new powers. Bad news, most sensors need to mold their chakra to sense anything beyond huge surges of chakra, which is why you can sense it now, your chakra control is good enough to allow you access to that power. You cannot overly rely on it but that does not take away it's value."

Excited, he nodded. "That's still awesome... I wonder if Ru's a sensor as well... I'll have to ask him when he gets back from that C rank to Wave"

"You are twins, so it is likely... you can test him later, I will show you how. However, that can wait until later, for now I want to correct your form and what I saw during our spar. There were a few mistakes you made, but any mistake can be fatal so we need to work on tha-" She paused. "Naruto just got back now, I can sense his incredible chakra. The boy may not be the smartest or most skilled but in chakra value he is king around here."

"I noticed."

"Oh, and before we get started, good job with your wind style chakra flow, it was impeccable!"

Naturally, he flushed, still not used to praise from anyone.

"What?" Kagami bellowed, hearing Naruto tell the tale of his mission to Wave. "You... you fought a Swordsman of the Mist and a Bloodline user without any training from Kakashi who only taught you the tree walking exercise during the mission and then you tapped into the Fox's powers? Am I hearing this right?"

Naruto nodded, a mix of excited and afraid. "Why are you so mad? I kicked ass and... I lost a friend, Gami..."

"Naruto, you met Haku once and then fought them in battle. That's not a friend, that is lucky that tool did not slit your throat while you were sleeping." Groaning, he held his head. "We need to talk to the Hokage about getting Kakashi to teach you or at least get you a real team."

"I'm on a real team!" Naruto yelled, his chest huffing. "You can't keep babying me, Gami!"

"Naruto, Kakashi is not teaching you! You are a jinchuuriki, like me, you need to be a fantastic Ninja so you don't have to rely on the Fox's powers like you did." He had learned that term from Yugao, who kindly gave him a rundown of the other known Jinchuurki about. Shibi had confirmed this to him. "If Kakashi is not teaching you, at leas start studying or let me help you-"

"NO!" Naruto bellowed. "I CAN DO THIS ON MY OWN, I DON'T NEED YOU TO PROVE HOW MUCH SMARTER OR BETTER YOU ARE THAN ME LIKE YOU ALWAYS DO! NOT ALL OF US CAN READ SO FAST, OR LEARN TAIJUTSU FROM STUPID SCROLLS OR-"

"You don't even try, Naruto!" Naruto stopped, gaping. "You rely on your stupid pranks and that shadow clone jutsu, but a hundred times zero is still zero and that is what you are in battle... a big fat zero." Cold as Ice, Kagami stood, radiating dominant chakra. " Naruto, I love you, but that is the truth. You are lazy, entitled and refuse ot work hard. You want easy to chew answers. We are exactly as smart as each other, we were tested for it. I just try and you don't... When we were trying to read, you had to be all but tied down to even try. When we learned Taijutsu, you would rather mope about. I never tried to prove how smart I am, I just wanted to help you, but you refused since it required reading and actually trying.

I am moving out." Turning, he went into the house and grabbed his scroll of already prepared stuff. "I have been preparing to move out for months, but only since graduation has it's been serious. I am doing trying to help you but being smacked down for it. I love you, Ru, but you need to grow up and you let me help you, so I wash my hands. Good luck with your shitty sensei, awful teach and a Hokage that lets you get away with murder."

Satisfied, he rushed out of the door and towards the Aburame compound, leaving a stunned Naruto where he just was.

"Oh shit... I messed up." Naruto groaned, turning to his now empty apartment.

He loved Kagami, he really did but he was jealous. Everything seemed to come easier to him. Reading, studying, taijutsu, and everything else. Naruto hated studying, he could never stand still, no matter how hard he tried. Kagami could,., he just seemed better than Naruto and he hated it. What made it worse was that Kagami never bragged, he tried to help Naruto like he was a baby and he hated that.

He hated how much he needed Kagami to do basic things, how Kagami treated him like he was dumb, or so it felt like that, He knew that wasn't really the case, but it felt like that. He got so angry, so jealous that he ran his mouth and now his brother, his only family, left him. He had no idea how to feel... how to think... how to breathe.

Sitting down, he put his head in his hands and just breathed.

"What did I do?"

Shibi nodded. "When I offered last week, I was very serious. You would have been denied or overcharged elsewhere. It is the least I could do... but are you sure you want to leave your brother?"

"He needs to grow up and I need to be free of babying him. I was the one to clean the house, to buy the food, to actually study and train. Naruto's only skill is being great with money and even then he wastes it at Ichiraku for being kind of nice to us. He refuses to eat right, train, study and train. I was tired of being his parent more than his brother. I needed my freedom, and a chance to be myself. This is it."

"Very well, I hope it is the right choice for you."

"So do I... so do I but I have no time to mope about it. Yugao said I am a shoe in for the Chunin exams. I need to prepare, I only have a month to gain enough skill to dominate! I am a newly found sensor of all things, this will only help me to thrive. So, it's time to do just that! I have Guy and Lee, I have Yugao and I have Shino... but most importantly I have myself. I can do this. I will do this.

I will be working on my ken and genjutsu mostly, since they are the most behind. I will wow the judges so much they have no choice but to make me a chunin! No one will stop me, damn it. No one!"
