Kagami woke up, just in time for the Third Hokage funeral. It was a depressing thing, he may not have cared for the man but he did pity his brother and Konohomaru for losing someone so dear to them. He said nothing during the service, but listened and felt rain on his face. He stood there and put a hand on Naruto's shoulder, trying to help his brother move through and past his loss...
The next few days passed miserably for most, Kagami had to buy a new sword, he helped with the construction, and eventually, he was approached by Jiraiya once more. The Old fart approached him as he was leaving the shop with a new blade, for once not being overcharged without a transformation.
"There you are." Naruto was with him. "Come on kid, I need you and Naruto to help on a mission to find a really powerful gorgeous woman. The Legendary, Tsunade."
The boy's eyes widened. "We need to find her, Tsunade, the greatest Kunoichi, one of my freaking Idols? Where do I sign up?" Yes, he admired the most powerful medic in the world. "Even if it means training with your garbage ass. Why me though?"
Naruto raises his hand meekly. "It was my idea, I miss you Gami... I... I am sorry for... well... you know."
"Fine... I... I accept."
"Great, and the Pervy Sage agreed to teach us both a jutsu like no other!"
Kagami turned to the old man, who nodded. " I did just that, both of you will be learning it. I mean, what an honor is it to teach the first person to make Gaara bleed! I saw the tapes on your exam, very, very skilled. I haven't seen a more natural sword wielder since Kushina."
He blushed. "The Red Death, you are comparing me to her, the Leaf's greatest kenjutsu user, a jest surely."
Jiraiya smirked. " Not at all, I knew Kushina well, she was stronger than I am now at the age of twenty. She was a real beast, a menace with a blade and with her seals... had she lived passed the Kyuubi attack, she would have been the strongest Kunoichi in history no doubt."
"She is also you mother, Kagami." The Fox said, his voice echoing in Kagami's mind. "Kushina Uzumaki, your mother and my previous host.'
Kagami froze. "My mother."
Jiraiya froze, as did Naruto. "How did you know?"
"I can talk to the Fox, he told me she was his previous host... it's true, isn't it?"
The Toad sage nodded, sighing. " I am afraid it is... how can you talk to it?" '
"Him, I started to the day we met... I used his power to help the Hokage, it's how we killed and captured his Ninja."
Jiraiya nodded. "I heard about that... and wanted to talk to you about that, but we can do that later. Are you ready to travel?"
"I am always ready to travel, in case I am called onto a mission. We can depart immediately."

"Here." Kagami handed Naruto some leaves once they were about five miles away from the Leaf. "Put them on your skin, like this." he demonstrated them. "I am a sensor, and so you are too I suspect. With proper training you will be able to tap into that, Ru."
Naruto smiled. "We are sensors? Why couldn't we do it before?"
"Chakra control and imbalance. We have so much chakra we cannot dim it enough to see and sense past our reserves. It is like looking through to bright a light to see the sky."
"Oh... okay... so how does this help?"
"It works on your control, it helped me make my kenjutsu trick that I used to beat Gaara." Kagami put the Leaves on Naruto's hand. "Stick it with your chakra and focus ony your breathing."
"Okay, Kagami."
"Do you ever stop training?" Jiraiya barked out. "You need to learn to have fun!"
"I enjoy training, I enjoy reading, cooking and other things... but I am not blind. Being a vessel, a Jinchuuriki I have no choice but to be strong. This is for my own safety, and Ru's. The Fourth made sure of that when he took our free will away."
Jiraiya cringed. "You really hate him don't you?"
"No, I get he had no choice but I do hate that he did it... mixed feelings really. I resent that he forced this on us. I mostly hate the Third for never helping, it is only for Naruto's love that I do not shame the man further."
"Thank you." Naruto said, smiling.

Jiraiya's heart broke for his Godson, Kagami's hate for the Third was a painful thing to hear. He could not blame him for that or his resentment towards his own father. It was sad, but on some level Minato deserved it. He only hoped the boy would forgive his father one day, and himself for his own failings. He wished beyond anything that he could make amends, which is why he wanted to teach them both the Rasengan. It was the first thing he could and should do the make those amends.
Hours passed until they reached the closest outpost town, not at all far from the Leaf village. They stopped a few times along the way and each time Kagami practiced his swordplay, not really looking at Jiraiya. Naruto begged a few times to learn new jutsu then went over to watch his brother with awe. He seemed to have changed his tune about his brother, whom he used to bitch about, after the chunin exams.
Just as they reached the outpost town, Naruto finally managed to get three leaves to stick on his body, to the boy's pride. It was only around then that they got their key to an inn... and then Jiraiya saw the most beautiful of women. So, naturally, he handed Naruto the key, ordered him to do chakra control exercise and ditched the boys. Kagami's killer intent was as fierce as his mother's, but he did not complain.
"Come on, Ru, I'll show you some awesome control exercise and then we can work on your genjutsu breaking skills. Okay?"

Kagami swore to break Jiraiya's nuts when he returned. Naruto told him, as they trained, the story of how he learned to summon toads and boy it pissed him off. "He pushed you into a canyon? That fucker! Oh he is so dead!"
Naruto smirked, then sighed and smashed into Kagami with a hug. "I am so sorry, Kagami... I should have listed to you."
"Yeah, you should have... but I guess I forgive you... if you agree to actually start... what the hell?" Kagami froze as extremely potent chakra, beyond his and Naruto's combined, flooded the world. It was so strong he stumbled, nausea hitting him. "Naruto, something is wrong... " Someone knocked at the door, and Kagami acted. Grabbing Naruto's arm, he threw themselves out of the window and towards the roofs, desperate to get as far away as possible. Just in time too as the door to their room was blasted open by a large... club?
"Itachi, they are running away."
Kagami barely managed to get a hundred feet away before two scary looking ninja in black cloaks appeared before them. One looked just like Sasuke, the other like a human shark... that one was the source of the scary, powerful, massive chakra.
"God we are screwed."
That made the shark one grin.
"Naruto make clones and find Jiraiya with them, NOW!"
To his credit, Naruto did as he was told and the clones scattered but the real Naruto stayed. "I am not leaving you!"
"A wise static." The Uchiha one said, his voice monotone as hell. "But not enough... we have no choice but to take you both, so come quietly."
Kagami pulled out his blade, ready to hold his own, ready to fight. "I will not let you take us, either of us." Kyuubi's power filled him once more, without warning and he fell into a low stance. "I will fight, to the death!"
