Summary: What if JJ had been a girl?

Chapter 1: The beginning

The first time John B met JJ was on the first day of the third grade. He was sat in the cafeteria of school pulling out his lunch when he noticed a small blonde girl sitting alone at the next table looking at her hands. He noticed her eyes kept intermittently looking over at the kid across from her's plate like she was trying not to look but couldn't stop herself. He noticed she didn't have a lunch so he quickly stood up and walked over to where she was sitting and handed her half of his peanut butter sandwich. She blinked at him with her big blue eyes and he wondered if she was going to refuse it but her hunger must have won out because then she grabbed the offered sandwich and scarfed it down in record time. John B smiled and sat down next to her to eat.

"I'm John B" He introduced himself with a big smile. "Want to be friends?"

The girl looked at him in suspicion like she didn't know what a friend was. After a few seconds his smile started to falter thinking she would refuse but then she smiled so wide and it lit up her whole face. It was the kind of smile that was contagious and John B decided she should always smile.

"I'm JJ." She said. And the rest of the day they talked and joked like they'd been friends from birth.

From that day forward it was the two of them against the world and they were inseparable.

Pope and Kie didn't come til later. Pope came first in the 6th grade. He was being targeted by 8th graders when all of a sudden a blonde girl stepped in between him and the bully with a wild glint in her eye. The bully raised an arm and tried to shove her out of the way but the girl didn't back down and shoved back. The bully had just raised his fist when another body slammed into him all wild fury and anger. The bully dropped but stood up when he recovered. He went to punch the boy who body slammed him but the girl quickly flew between them and punched him surprisingly hard for a girl and the boy stumbled back with a split lip. The new boy pulled the girl back away from the bully and was ready to continue the fight but luckily the bully seemed to have had enough and walked away. The boy whirled around to face the girl. "You ok?" When she nodded he breathed and said "That was stupid JJ." She just rolled her eyes and smiled at him in affection then turned her eyes towards Pope. The other boy just then seemed to notice he was there.

"Uh… thanks guys. I'm Pope"

After that The duo became a trio.

Kie came a year later. John B, JJ, and Pope were surfing at the beach when they saw a small tanned girl running back and forth along the beach looking to all the world like a crazy person scaring away any birds that tried to swoop down. The beach was too big for her to be complete successful but none the less JJ was curious what the girl was doing and while the boys continued surfing she swam back to shore. She finally saw that there were baby turtles in the sand making there way towards the tide and realized what the fuss was about. In a split second she decided to help and also started running around like a crazy person. That must have caught the boys attention because next thing she knows they are also helping and no more turtles were swooped up. The rest made it to the tide and went on their way. Kie ran over breathless and grinning from ear to ear. "Thank you guys!" After that, Kie completed their friends group and everything was perfect. Pogue's 4 life!
