This was a blast to write. I really had fun with this one, making some awesome choices for later...

And I cannot wait for the next chapter... enjoy.

One choice in particular will matter a lot more than others, I cannot wait for them.

One Month of ROOT Later- Right after Land of Tea Mission

"Kagami, it is time for your first mission."

Kagami blinked, looking up at his sensei. "What? I thought you said I need to be here for three months?"

"I did, but something has come up." He leaned forward. "Sasuke Uchiha has defected, your brother has been placed on the mission to capture Sasuke Uchiha. It is going to fail, Sasuke is miles above your brother, and his Curse Mark is likely to mutate into it's second form. Your brother also has a weak heart... No, this mission is doomed to failure. Your mission is two fold. First, you are to gather the remains of anyone that is killed by the Sound Ninja or our Ninja, then once you deliver them, you are to go to the Land of Tea and gather the Raijin of the Second Hokage your brother foolishly left behind. That will be a powerful weapon for you to wield, one that will make you far more dangerous in battle, especially against Jinchuuriki or the Akatsuki. According to the reports it was left by a bridge close to the Todoroki shrine, deep in the waters. Retrive it if you can, as well as the body of Aoi if you can find it. Village secrets should never be so open."

Sighing, Kagami nodded. "You are testing me to see if I will reveal myself to my brother, are you not?"

"Yes, I am."

"Naturally... well, sorry to prove your worries wrong, but I have no interest in going back. Not when I am learning so much, becoming so strong, I have learned more in the last month than I learned in my entire time in the academy combined. I am actually becoming a Ninja, I am good. So, where and when?"

"On the path to the Land of Rice, where Orochimaru's base is located."

"Fine, what is my codename, if I am caught I need a new name, a new identity."

Danzo smirked and threw him an outfit, with a hood and a mask. "Your new name is Chimera, for that is what you are, a combination of countless pieces creating a far more valuable whole. Now get dressed, and know that you will be monitored." The mask was white, but had an etching of what appeared to be a mixture of a goat and a lion on it, it looked odd but kind of badass. The outfit was a black ANBU outfit, with a hood that wrapped around his head and partially over his mouth like Kakashi's. He would never be discovered to be who he was.

"Anything else I need to know?"

Danzo nodded. "Two of Orochimaru's Ninja, with level two curse marks, were broken out of their cells and they too are with Sasuke. Both are Jonin level, though weakened from imprisonment. Still, do not underestimate them. Now get dressed and go!"

Nodding, Kagami did what he was told, dressing and rushing off. 'Kyuubi can you track your chakra down?'

'Yes, go a few more tics east and you are on the right trail. Oh and Danzo was not lying, you are being pursued in multiple directions...'

'I figured.'

At full speed, now baring down at speeds faster than Rock Lee with his weights or Sasuke period (Yah Healing factor) and having that stamina to really use it, Kagami found his first body in three hours. Choji and another body, one he did not recognize. They showed signs of the Curse Mark, and looked rather beat up. Choji was barely breathing, his chakra weak and thready.

Ignoring Choji entirely, he approached the body of Orochimaru's henchmen. "How did that weakling catch you off guard enough to kill you?" he heard his voice, it was raspy, cold and metallic, a product of a technique Danzo had him learn for safety's sake.

"STOP!" He heard someone say, turning to see Leaf Ninja, medical ninja, approaching. "That boy is a member of the Leaf, you will not touch him!"

Rolling his eyes, he ran through a few handsigns at speeds equalling a jonin, before slamming them on the ground. A rush of dust rushed through the air, blocking their sight. This was a jutsu stolen from Sand years ago, Danzo personally taught it to him. Quickly, he used a scroll to seal away the Sound Ninja's corpse before rushing off once more at vast speeds.

Only to find a barely conscious Neji stumbling about, the boy's byakugan was not activated. It was easy to not only knock him out with a chop to the neck but also extract some blood from him and then grab the Sound Ninja he slaughtered.

'Having the blood a Hyuuga, especially one so strong is nothing but useful...'

The next one was harder, as the body was right by not only Shikamaru but Temari, Temari's chakra was full and Shikamaru looked dead on his feet. Frowning, he wondered how the hell he was going to get out of this one...

'What to do, what to do... any idea's Kyuubi?'

"Genjutsu to startle them, speed to knock them out."

'Sounds fair. Remind me to ask for more Stealth and assignation training...'

Gathering his chakra stealthily, he ran through his handsigns and cast his strongest Jutsu. A weakened form of the Temple of Nirvana, Blessed Rest was designed for creating drowsiness not outright knocking out your enemies. The effect, amplified by his potent chakra, made both Temari and Shikamaru stumble just long enough for him to use his full unweighted speeds to knock them both out with a punch to the back of the head.

The girl he found, red haried and bleeding out... was...

"She's alive... Should I kill her, or make her Danzo's bitch... I think a living prisoner would be far more useful." Placing her into a prisoner seal instead of a corpse seal, he happily took her and ran off, rushing to find the next person he needed to capture. Which ended up being a Kaguya, if the sea of bones meant anything. 'Damn, Gaara and Rock Lee.. this is not good... but their chakra is low... I could likely best them both, but I don't think I need to... I think a repeat of what I just did would be fine. Wait not, that would make Gaara's tailed beast rage... hmm... why not just take the body? I can just run away after that, or make water clones to fool them... he never said I couldn't be caught and frankly a Kaguya powerful enough to fight Gaara and even a wounded Lee... that is a very powerful figure. We need that blood, maybe I can transplant his cells into my body, get his powers like Kakashi got the Sharingan... that is for another time.'

Gathering himself tall, he rushed forward and grabbed the Kaguya from the Bone collasping around it's body, landing to the right of the bone forest. Gaara turned to him alongside Lee.

"Who are you?/How unyouthful!" Gaara and Lee said as one.

Kagami shrugged. "I am someone that is interested in powerful corpses, that is all you need to know. But if you must call me something, Chimera is a fine name to answer by. Water clone jutsu." To mask his identity, since so few had his chakra reserves which had only grown stronger since he entered ( or was forced) into ROOT, he made ten clones. "See you later." And with that, they all rushed in a different direction, making them impossible to track.

After the real Kagami was about fifteen miles away, he turned to where he sensed the following ROOT ninja. "I know you are following me, I can sense the mark on you. Take these to Lord Danzo, so the bodies don't go back. Tell him the girl is alive, she might be useful."

A ROOT Ninja, with a blank mask, approached. "You did well." She said.

"I know, now, off to Tea."

They nodded and vanished themself, as did he...

It was only when he was about thirty miles away that he felt an immense suffusion of Kyuubi's chakra fill the air, the very rain itself... and he knew his brother was using that power to fight Sasuke... the power of the Curse Mark filled the rain as well.

'Kyuubi, is he safe?'

"He is alive, but he is unconscious, my other side, is too far away to speak to, but I can tell Naruto is safe."

'Thank you... '

And with that, Kagami hurried away, to the Land of Tea and to the rest of his new life.
