Ice, Fire and the Dead
…
Chapter 1: Outbreak of the Dead
Aegon hummed a quiet tune as he swept the floors of Fujimi Academy with a black bristled broom. It had been a few weeks now since he found himself in this strange new world. It had been the damnedest thing; it had been his nine and tenth nameday celebration when a red comet appeared in the night sky, then there was a flash of light and he found himself in a back alley of a city called Tokonosu in the land of Japan. After some confusion and wandering around, Aegon was found by a middle-aged man on his way to work and luckily, he spoke reasonably good Westerosi. The man was named Gunpei, it sounded vaguely Yitish to Aegon, and he worked as a janitor/cleaner at a local highschool. Gunpei was a decent man who saw Aegon's predicament and took him on board, and he didn't ask too many intrusive questions. He didn't even raise an eyebrow at Aegon's garb and weapons, his garb being the leather, cloth and mail sellsword armour and the Valyrian steel sword of Aegon the Conqueror.
Gunpei managed to teach Aegon the Japanese language and had gotten him a job at Fujimi Academy, just so Aegon could "get back on his feet". A few weeks had passed and Aegon spoke Japanese well enough to get by. It was a good thing Aegon already had several languages under his belt back home, what was one more?
Since working at Fujimi Academy, Aegon noted how everything was so different than what he was used to back home. Vehicles like these cars were one thing and Aegon professed to be curious about them and their inner workings. Perhaps in time, he could get a job that involved working on cars? But apart from that, Aegon also picked on the customs and speech patterns, as well as the cuisine and other things.
Aegon also picked up on the sport of Kendo that was practiced at Fujimi Academy. And it was there he made his second friend in the form of Saeko Busujima, the Captain of the Kendo Club at Fujimi Academy. Saeko was perhaps the most beautiful girl, woman, Aegon had seen in his life. She had long dark violet/indigo hair that was sleek and shiny and reached her waist, with a tall and slim yet curvaceous and athletic figure, and two deep ocean blue eyes and soft full lips that would be a blessing to kiss. Saeko had introduced herself to Aegon as she had seen him watching her and her teammates practice in their dojo, and Aegon confessed to her that he knew swordsmanship. Saeko asked for a match after school and Aegon couldn't find it in himself to refuse her request.
After school was out for the day, Aegon faced Saeko in the school dojo with her teammates watching. While Aegon professed to not be familiar with women warriors back home, it wasn't an unknown concept to him given that his ancestor Visenya Targaryen was as much a warrior as her brother-husband Aegon the Conqueror was, and was as comfortable in mail as she was in silk. Then there was the Dornish Princess Nymeria who had brought all of Dorne under her rule and even today, much of the Dornish fighting forces had women in their ranks and they were encouraged to fight alongside the menfolk. And in the Northern Kingdom, House Mormont of Bear Isle trained their womenfolk to fight alongside the men and for many women both smallfolk and highborn of House Mormont, it was not just a requirement but an honour as well.
Aegon soon faced Saeko in a special training match after school hours. Aegon was impressed by the indigo-haired woman's sword skills; He himself had been taught swordsmanship under Ser Rolly, and while Aegon would say that Ser Rolly was a good fighter and swordsman, Saeko's style seemed to trump it through speed and precision. But Aegon put up a good fight in the match against his opponent. The match ended in a draw with both Aegon and Saeko panting for breathe. Saeko's teammates had been stounded that their best fighter and captain of the team had been fought to a standstill by a foreigner. Afterwards, Saeko asked Aegon if he would train with her, in order to develop and further her fighting skills, and Aegon gladly accepted the request, feeling that he too could learn from Saeko in return.
Another friend Aegon had made was in the form of a chubby boy named Kohta Hirano, a second year student who was suffering at the hands of schoolyard bullies. Given that he was a member of school staff, Aegon intervened and kept most of the bullies at bay. Bullies were cowards in Aegon's opinion, and they only picked on those they thought weaker than themselves. Kohta was grateful to Aegon helping him out, but asked him why he did it. Aegon simply told the chubby boy that he did not like bullies plain and simple and that seemed to win him Kohta's friendship. But one incident Aegon found Kohta bruised and with a broken nose; the bullies had waited until Kohta was isolated from Aegon and pounced on him. Cursing the ill fortune, Aegon helped Kohta to his feet and even Saeko came to help, and they brought him to the Doctor's office where Aegon met his third friend in Fujimi Academy, Miss Shizuka Marikawa.
Shizuka Marikawa was a tall blonde with almost ridiculous curves that women would die or kill to have; she had enormous breasts that always threatened to burst out of the flimsy button-up shirt she typically wore. She was also a bit ditzy and oblivious to most things around her, but if you asked her opinion on anything medical, or asked her for her assistance with medical practices, she was practically a genius focussed on the task. When treating Kohta for his injuries, Aegon also lent his insight on medicine he learned from Haldon. Shizuka made a joke that Aegon's knowledge of medicine seemed a little old fashioned when he mentioned using honey and garlic to treat infections, but she commended the idea and the benefits behind it. She also seemed keenly interested in Aegon and who he was and where he came from, and she even offered to take him out on the town. Aegon politely turned the curvy blonde down, but he said that perhaps once he acclimated to Japan, he'd take her up on her offer.
So far, life had been pretty good in Tokonosu City. He had a steady and relatively simple job that paid well enough, and he'd made a few friends. But, Aegon was anxious to return home; he could already imagine his mentor/father figure Jon frantically trawling through every corner of the world searching for him, or searching every library for knowledge of how to bring him back or travel to other worlds even. Aegon had visited some libraries in his days off to search for some clue as to how to travel to other worlds, but no luck. The concept of travelling to other worlds was fanciful at best, although scientists did have the theory of other universes running parallel to their own.
But until then, Aegon would keep a low profile until he could find some way back home. So today, he was doing the usual rounds of sweeping the Kendo dojo. And any second now, he knew Saeko would be walking in through the door to practice her katas, and he would watch for a few moments.
And sure enough, Saeko walked into the dojo. Looking at Aegon, the indigo-haired beauty smiled at him. "Aegon-san. I thought I'd find you in here," she remarked with a slight smile.
"Well, I wouldn't want the captain of the Kendo team practicing her swordsmanship in a dirty dojo now, would I?" Aegon japed and Saeko smiled in amusement as she took out her bokken which was made of thick hard black wood. Aegon finished sweeping the last of the dust into a pile before he took out a brush and pan and swept the dust pile into the pan emptied the pan into the trash bin on his trolley.
"Up for a spar today?" Saeko asked him. Aegon smiled lightly and replied, "Still have to clean the windows. But afterwards, we'll see."
Saeko smiled in understanding as she began some basic stretches in order to limber herself up before commencing her practice. Aegon took a brief moment to watch Saeko stretch and her admired her long lean lines which complimented her still shapely curves showing that she was indeed a full-grown woman. To be sure, she didn't have the measurements of MIss Shizuka, but then again, who did? But that wasn't to say that Saeko didn't have any curves to her form, and the curves she did possess were more than enough to capture most men's attentions, Aegon's included.
Glancing out of the corner of her eye, Saeko saw Aegon watching her. A slight upturn was on her lips as she said, "In Japan, it is considered rude to stare so at a woman."
"Forgive me, Lady Saeko, I did not intend to offend you," Aegon said apologetically as he went back to cleaning the windows of the dojo. Saeko gave a slight chuckle and replied, "You've given none. You aren't that much older than I am, and I am within legal age."
"Perhaps," Aegon conceded. "But you are a student, and I am a member of staff," he reminded himself more than Saeko. "It would be improper of me to engage in such activities with a student," he said.
"So you've thought about it before?" Aegon blanched and looked at Saeko who had an amused grin on her lips.
"Maybe…" Aegon said carefully. Saeko simply gave another smile before going back to her stretching. Aegon then studiously went back to cleaning the windows, focussing on the task so as not to be distracted.
Then the PA system crackled to life.
"Attention, students. We have an emergency. All students and staff are to evacuate immediately," the voice of the School principle said over the PA system.
"That doesn't sound good," Aegon commented as he paused what he was doing. Saeko stopped her exercises and listened to the PA system as it continued.
"All students and staff are to remain- what the?! How did you get in here?! NO! STAY BACK! STAY BACK! NO-AAARRRGGGH! IT HURTS! IT HURTS! AAAAAAAARRRRRGGGHHH!" The PA System was the filled with the sounds of flesh tearing and bone cracking.
Saeko frowned as she took up her bokken and held it ready in her hands. "We need to get out of here," she said in a firm tone of voice.
Aegon nodded and said, "I just need to retrieve something first. Where should I meet you?" he asked.
"At the Doctor's Office," Saeko replied immediately, not outwardly concerned that Aegon was going alone. "Doctor Marikawa could have some medicals that we need," she said.
"I'll meet you there, then," Aegon said as he set off at a jog, his destination in mind; an old utility closet where he had left some supplies he knew would help him at this time. Saeko went in her own direction, heading for the Doctor's Office.
Reaching the utility closet, Aegon unlocked it with the key he had on his person. Opening the door, Aegon found what he was looking for. Blackfyre, the Valyrian steel sword of Aegon's ancestor and namesake, Aegon the Conqueror or the Dragon as he also went by. Buckling the sword to his waist, Aegon also took some other supplies in the closet such as a claw hammer, a workman's tool belt, a Stanley knife, fingerless workman's gloves and a flashlight.
After putting on the workman's belt and stashing the other items in its pockets, Aegon prepared to head to the Doctor's office. Then as he turned the corridor, Aegon was greeted with a horrific sight; the bodies of students and teachers, mutiliated and sick ash grey and their eyes whited out near completely, tearing into corpses of other students and teachers with a voracious hunger. The sight turned Aegon's stomach, but he quelled the urge to be sick as he drew his sword and shouted at them.
"HEY!"
The reaction was immediate, as a few of the grey skinned things turned their attention to Aegon and slowly shuffled forward, groaning hoarsely. The first one, in the shape of a stocky boy, open wounds on his arms reached towards Aegon. With a furious swing, Aegon cleaved the boy in half from the left shoulder to the right hip. Thick blood sprayed out, splattering against Aegon's clothes as the two halves of the boy fell to the ground, yet the half with the boy's head still twitched and groaned.
"Gods…"
Aegon didn't have time to ponder this madness as another one of the things reached out with its arms. Cutting off both arms at the elbows with a swing of Blackfyre, Aegon delivered a kick to the thing's chest and knocked it backwards into another, knocking them to the floor.
As much as he wanted to kill these things, Aegon could see there were too many for him to fight alone. Remembering there was another route to Doctor Marikawa's office, Aegon did a 180 spin and dashed off down the corridor. His heart pounding from a mixture of adrenaline and a hint of panic, Aegon ran down the corridor to the Doctor's Office. He hoped to the Seven that Saeko hadn't run into those things, and he also hoped that Shizuka was alive as well.
To Aegon's relief, he found Saeko crushing the skulls of the things with her bokken. Her speed and agility was impressive as she spun around flawlessly, avoiding the outstretched grasping hands with ease before smashing the skulls of her opponents with such ease. Aegon also noted that the ones Saeko killed did not get back up and that's when he realised that to kill these things, you had to destroy their brains. A simple enough theory, but in practice it would be difficult.
"Lady Saeko!" Aegon shouted as he slashed the head off one grey skin with his sword, the dark smoky blade stained with blackened blood.
"Aegon-san!" Saeko greeted him and her ocean blue eyes widened in surprise as she saw the sword in Aegon's hands. "Where did you get that?" she asked, her voice full of curiosity.
"I'll explain later!" Aegon said as he sliced another grey skin's head off. Saeko nodded but she sent a look saying that the matter was not closed. Dispatching the grey skinned people, Aegon looked at Saeko and asked, "What are these things? They look human, but they aren't!"
"As silly of me to say, I think these poor souls are undead humans, or zombies," replied Saeko as they jogged down the corridor, the screams of students and faculty echoing around the hallways.
"Zombies? I remember watching a movie of these creatures a little while ago," Aegon said. "If we get bitten, we become one of them?" he asked.
"From what I've seen, yes," replied Saeko as they neared the Doctor's Office where a throng of now zombies broke through the door.
"Gods, Doctor Marikawa!" Aegon cursed and Saeko gritted her teeth as they sprinted to the doctor's office.
As they reached the office, Aegon and Saeko found Shizuka surrounded by a throng of zombies, with a young boy screaming in pain as he was being torn apart by one.
Aegon and Saeko leapt into action; Aegon's Valyrian blade cleaved the heads of the undead wretches off their necks, and Saeko's bokken crushed their skulls and brains. Soon the room was cleared.
"Shizuka? Are you alright?" Aegon asked the ditzy blonde who immediately latched onto him, pressing his head right into her large bosom.
"Oh, Aegon-san! I knew you'd come for me!" she cried out hysterically. Aegon managed to free himself from Shizuka's embrace, his face beet red from being in-between the blonde's large mammary glands. Saeko was beside the boy who was a moment ago being torn apart by a zombie.
"What's your name, kid?" the indigo-haired girl asked the boy who coughed up some blood before giving his name.
"Kazu… Ishii. Kazu Ishii," he managed to say weakly.
"I'm Saeko Busujima, the captain of the Kendo team, and that's Aegon the school janitor," Saeko said to Kazu. "You did a great job protecting Doctor Marikawa. I commend your courage," she added.
"You did very well, young Kazu," Aegon said respectfully. "I only wish we were here sooner," he added regretfully.
"You do know what happens when you get bitten, right?" Saeko asked the boy who nodded weakly. "Do you want your parents and friends to see you like that?" she then asked. "If your answer is now, I'll end your life as painlessly as I can, but I've never killed anyone before," she said.
Kazu had a weak smile on his face as he said, "Please do that. I don't want to become one of them."
Shizuka seemed to realise what was about to happen as Saeko stood to her feet with her bokken in hand. "Wait, what are you-" the somewhat ditzy blonde tried to ask, when Aegon stopped her.
"Miss Shizuka, we understand you have a duty to heal, but this is an act of mercy," he said to her. "Believe me, if there was a way to save that poor boy who tried to defend you, we would take it," he added sombrely.
Saeko nodded in agreement as she raised her bokken high. "This boy is going to die with his pride intact," she said. "And protecting a man's pride, is a woman's duty," she statedbefore she swung her bokken down onto Kazu's skull, splattering the window with blood and grey matter.
Shizuka had a horrified shocked look on her face as she held a hand to her mouth,as if unable to comprehend what just happened. Then the side door to the office broke down and more zombies entered the room. Aegon stabbed his sword into the first one's chest before pulling his sword free and slashed off its head. The next one had its left arm chopped off before its head was removed from its body. Saeko killed the last remaining couple, before wiping her facer with the sleeve of her school uniform.
"We need to get out of here," Aegon stated as he wiped the blade of Blackfyre with a spare rag he had in his tool belt.
"Can we go to the staffroom?" Shizuka asked as she picked up a bag of what Aegon could only presume were medical supplies.
"Aegon-san, can you stay with Doctor Marikawa, while I lead from the front?" Saeko asked Aegon as they prepared leave the doctor's office.
"Leave it to me, Lady Saeko," Aegon said. "They won't get near Doctor Marikawa," he declared.
"Thank you, Aegon-san, I feel much safer with protecting me!" Shizuka said in her usual ditzy manner as she pressed herself close to Aegon, her breasts squashing up against his arm. Aegon suppressed a blush that was spreading across his cheeks and he could feel blood rushing down south to his nether regions as those obscenely large tits pressed against his arm.
"So, the staff room was where you wanted to go?" Aegon asked Shizuka as they left the office and walked quickly down the corridor. Instead of killing the zombies, Saeko simply knocked them down and away. Aegon helped knock a few of the zombies back as well, seeing how effective it was.
"It's where all the staff keep their carkeys," Shizuka replied before she looked at Saeko and asked, "Why aren't you killing them? It'd be easy for you!" she said.
"Knocking them down is more effective, and to kill each one I would need to stay still, and that restricts my movement," Saeko said calmly.
"Agreed, we also can't stay to kill every one of these things," Aegon put in as they went down the hallway.
"Wow, you've really thought this through," Shizuka said before she tripped over and fell down to the floor, her breasts bouncing almost comically, making Aegon avert his eyeslest he be called a pervert.
"Oh, jeez! What is this?" Shizuka complained in an irritated moan, rubbing her head with one hand.
Saeko knelt down beside Shizuka and said, "This clothing is unsuitable for running in." With a firm grip, Saeko partly tore at Shizuka's skirt, showing a hint of the lavender purple thong she wore underneath. Aegon turned and forced himself not to look.
"This is Prada!" Shizuka protested.
"What's more important? Your life, or clothing?" Saeko said to her.
Shizuka pouted before saying, "Both!" Then a loud scream that was decidedly human came from one of the classrooms. There was also the sound of something firing.
"What's that sound?" Shizuka asked as she stood to her feet.
"Sounds like a nailgun," Aegon remarked.
"Was it from the staffroom?" Saeko asked as they hurried onwards. Entering the classroom, Aegon saw Kohta armed with a nailgun that had been modified, killing a few of the zombies while a girl with long pink hair done up in pigtails used an electric drill to bore through a zombie's head.
"I'll take the right!" Saeko said to Aegon. With a rasp of metal scraping against leather and wood, Aegon's sword gleamed as he went to work hewing apart the zombies while Saeko worked to kill hers. Then running into the room was a boy with dark brown hair armed with a baseball bat and a girl about Saeko's age armed with the remains of a mop handle.
The pink haired girl had killed the zombie and was a trembling mess. The boy walked over to her and said, "Takagi? Are you okay?" he asked her.
"NO! I'M NOT OKAY!" screamed Takagi and she went into full hysterics and she didn't seem like she would calm down. Aegon sighed before walking over and with a light swing, he slapped the girl across the cheek.
"Calm down! Hysterics won't do any good!" he said to her. The sudden pain shocked the pink haired girl who then started crying, "Look at my clothes… Mommy will have to take these to the drycleaners!" she complained.
"Great, another one more worried about her clothing than her own life," Aegon muttered tiredly and Saeko gave a brief chuckle.
Aegon looked at Kohta and said to him, "Kohta? Glad to see you're still alive. Is that one of the school nailguns?" he asked the chubby boy who looked a little sheepish.
"I was just borrowing it," the bespectacled boy said timidly.
"Don't worry about it, lad, you're doing some good with it," Aegon reassured him, and he then looked at the new arrivals and said to them, "Alas, I don't know either of you."
"Takashi Komuro, Class 3B," the boy introduced himself and the girl beside him spoke.
"Rei Miyamoto, Class 2A," she said.
"Saeko Busujima, Class 3A," Saeko introduced herself as well.
"I'm Kohta Hirano, from Class 2B," Kohta said nervously as if afraid of intruding.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Aegon, one of the school janitors," Aegon said.
"Doctor Shizuka Marikawa," Shizuka said. "It's nice to meet you all!" she added.
Then the pink haired girl spoke up in an irritated voice. "Why are you all being so polite?!" she demanded.
"Things may have gone to hell, but it would be truly stupid to not get acquainted with one another," Aegon reminded her. "And I don't yet know your name," he said pointedly to the girl who blushed at the stern tone of Aegon's voice.
"Saya Takagi of Class 2B," she muttered sullenly.
"Well, now that we're all acquainted, let's compare notes of what happened to us," Aegon said.
"Me and Rei came because we heard Takagi scream," Takashi said. "But first, we need to block off the exits in case They get in somehow," he suggested.
Aegon and Takashi then moved some filing cabinets to block the doorways. It was a temporary measure to be sure, but it was better than leaving the doors wide open.
Shizuka was rummaging through the drawers, searching them. "My car keys should be here somewhere," she muttered.
"Will your car even fit all of us in it?" Saeko asked her.
"Now that you mention it…" Shizuka held a finger to her chin in thought.
"We could take one of the mini-busses?" Aegon said helpfully. "The keys should be here, and it seems unlikely they've been taken already," he added.
"You're right, they're still here," Kohta piped up looking out the window at the school parking lot.
"But where would we even go?" Shizuka asked.
"We're going to check on our families," Takashi said to her. "We'll stop at everyone's houses, from the closest to the nearest. And if we can, we'll rescue our families too. After that, we'll find somewhere safe to stay," he declared.
"A sound enough plan, but there's some flaws to it," Aegon said to Takashi. "But we'll figure it out as we go," he added diplomatically.
"Uhh… I think we should take a look at this," Rei suddenly said as she looked at the TV which was showing a news report. The reporter from a news channel was saying that the government was calling this event a mass revolt which had Takashi shout.
"A revolt?! They're calling this a revolt?!" he yelled in disbelief. Saeko pressed a button and switched over to another channel of a reporter standing outside with the police force behind her. Then shooting started and hordes of zombies encroached on the police and the reporter before the camera was cut and back in the studio with the news anchor nervously saying they would keep everyone updated. The whole room was quiet and the tension was palpable.
Takashi slammed his hand on a table and said, "That's all?! Why aren't they saying more?!" he demanded.
"Because they don't want to cause a widespread panic," Saya said, now much calmer.
"She's right," Aegon said. "Words of this will spread, so the government is doing what it can to contain the situation before it all goes to shit," he summarised.
"Fear leads to panic, panic leads to anarchy, and anarchy will lead to an actual revolt or civil unrest," Saeko then said. "The government can't fight the living dead in a time of anarchy, and with people fighting each other," she added sagely.
"But… how? When I was surfing the web this morning, everything was fine," Kohta said in confusion.
"I can't believe it's only taken a few hours to get like this," Rei said softly as she pulled on Takashi's arm. "But there must be some place that's safe right?" she asked looking up at Takashi hopefully.
"Keep dreaming!" Saya rebuked bluntly which made Rei deflate.
"Why do you have to say it like that?" Takashi asked Saya angrily.
"I agree with Lady Saya," Aegon stated. "There's no way anyone saw this coming, and it will only get worse from here on out," he said. Looking at everyone in the room, he said, "What matters now, is that we stick together and find our families."
"Agreed," Saeko said quickly.
"The Gaijin's right," Saya said as she hopped off the desk. "Besides, this is a pandemic," she added.
"A pandemic?" Shizuka asked, looking a little terrified.
"It's when an epidemic of an infectious disease spreads across the globe," Saya explained to her. "So the disease that's infecting people here is spreading across the globe," she then said.
"Like influenza?" Takashi asked.
Aegon was reminded of Greyscale from home and how quickly the disease could spread in communities if not contained.
"More like the Spanish Flu of 1918," Saya replied.
"No. This is worse than that," Aegon said grimly. "I'm not totally up to date on diseases, but what comes to mind is the Black Plague of the fourteenth century," he added. "But from what I read, the Black Plague didn't have people coming back from the dead and eating or infecting the living," he then said dryly.
"How did those diseases stop?" Takashi asked.
"There are a few theories," Shizuka offered.
"The most likely is because so many died, that the disease couldn't spread any further and infect more people," Aegon said.
"But in this case, the dead are walking around and attacking people, spreading the disease," Kohta said as he still watched from the window.
"So there's no reason why this disease won't stop spreading?" Saeko asked.
"But it's so hot outside!" Shizuka exclaimed with a dreamy smile on her face.
"What do you mean?" Aegon asked her.
"Maybe They'll start to decompose that They won't be able to move around anymore," Shizuka explained.
"How long does it take for a dead body to decompose?" Aegon asked, feeling slightly optimistic.
"In summertime, it usually takes around twenty-two days for some parts of the body to decompose," Shizuka said. "But in winter, it might take months," she added, her face one of concentration as she appeared to be running numbers in her head. Aegon had to admit that while Shizuka may be a bit of a ditzy blonde, her medical knowledge was astounding.
"But these things defy medical knowledge!" Saya stated. "So, do we even know if these things will decompose at all?" she asked.
"Lady Saya, unless you have something constructive to say, please refrain from making any more rude remarks," Aegon said to the pink haired girl sternly. Saya blushed and hung her head, a little embarrassed and upset at being told off by a foreigner.
"But, Lady Saya does have a point again," Aegon then said. "These things may decompose, but it's unknown if they do. And removing their organs doesn't seem to work, unless of course we remove or destroy their brains," he explained. "And we also know that if we bet bitten, we may as well kill ourselves to avoid becoming one of Them."
"What is important is finding a secure location, after we find our families," Saeko then said. "If we all act in our own self-interest, we won't last very long out there," she added. "We need to work together as a team," she then said.
"But we should help other survivors, shouldn't we?" Takashi asked.
"We can, if we are able to," Aegon said to Takashi. "We have to accept that we're not capable of saving everyone out there. Hard choices will be made for our survival, and we must learn to live those choices," he added bitterly.
"We need to figure out a formation," Takashi said nodding his head in acceptance. "Aegon-san, you and Miss Busujima lead from the front and form a vanguard. You two are the most capable fighters we have," he added.
"Lady Saeko and I will do our best, Takashi," Aegon replied confidently.
Takashi nodded in thanks before looking at Shizuka. "Miss Shizuka, you, Hirano and Takagi will be in the centre where we can protect you. Hirano, your weapon is useless in close quarters, but you can take out any before they get close to us. I'll be on the right side of Hirano, and Rei will on Shizuka's left to cover the left flank."
"Are we all clear on the plan?" Takashi then asked everyone. Everyone nodded in agreement.
"Alright, let's get work!" Aegon said as he mentally prepared himself.
"How do we get out from here?" Rei asked gripping her makeshift spear in her hands.
"The front door is the closest to the parking lot," Saya said.
"Then let's go," Takashi said as he and Aegon prepared to move the makeshift blockade. As they opened the door, they were greeted by three of Them in the hallway. Kohta quickly took care of them with his nailgun, each shot hitting Them in the head. Aegon blinked and said to him, "You never said you were a good shot."
"It's a hobby," Kohta said with a timid smile.
"Remember, don't fight unless you have to!" Takashi reminded Aegon and Saeko who both nodded in response.
"They also react to sound, and they're strong enough to break down a door, so if they grab you, it's over!" Saya also said.
"Good to know," Aegon said grimly as they made their down the hallway, prepared to make their escape from Fujimi Academy.
…
TO BE CONTINUED…
A/N: There! The first chapter of this crossover done and dusted! I hope this passes the grade, and I know this seems like an odd crossover, especially that I plan on it being a multi-crossover with Fallout 4 and Witcher, but let's hope I can make it work. I also have a romance poll set up for this story and so far Saeko seems to be in the lead along with Ciri from the Witcher series, and my Institute Courser OC L2-72/Lara. I've got a few ideas involving Saeko and Aegon together and I hope that the filler bits of Aegon and Saeko's friendship plants the seed of a romantic relationship between them, but we'll see how it works.
Anyways, in regards to Fallout, I'm trying to decide whether the group ends up in the Fallout universe as they escape Fujimi Academy along with Shido's group, or if I should work up to that at a later point such as when the group leaves the Takagi estate which is basically where the anime dies. There'd be the Shopping Mall arc where the group meets Asami the police officer, but still trying to decide if that's where the Fallout crossover happens.
And apart from that, I haven't got much more to say, so I'll just leave this here and I'll hopefully see you all in the next one.
Be kind to one another,
Angry lil' elf.
