It's been a couple of months ever since Lord Lucifer saved me and Shirone's life and added us to her sister's peerage. As I know, the only members of it are me being her traded [Bishop, Shirone as her first [Rook, and Akeno as her [Queen]. Both Rias and Akeno go to school in the human realm in the territory Rias and her family have control over in Japan. During the night, those two would go out to gain pacts and contracts with the humans there. Sometimes I would go too, but I couldn't leave Shirone alone in the castle. Even though everyone is nice here, I couldn't just trust myself for not being next to her when something bad happens. I'm at least going to wait for her to grow a little older to let her make contracts.
["Hmm… I guess I do see your reasoning behind this. We usually check the information on the summoner and what kind of wish they're trying to make before sending someone, but I guess humans can be more deceiving than us devils. I won't let Shirone do any contracts just yet,"] is what Rias told me. I'm kind of glad that she's way more understanding than my previous master. That man would do anything in his stupid title to get whatever he wanted. When I was brooding over my past again, the door to the bedroom opened. Who came in was Akeno and Shirone. They were both in sailor uniforms carrying book bags.
"Big sis, I'm back from human school," Shirone would say as she came up and hugged me. After being a part of Rias's peerage, she also enrolled us into the human academy in her territory. Shirone was transferred in as a first year middle school student while I was transferred in as a third year junior high student. The reason why I was home earlier than everyone was because I was a part of the so called "Going Home Club".
"Welcome home Shirone. How was it, today?" I asked her.
"We played dodge ball today during P.E class. My team one," she told me.
"Did you hold back against the opposing team at least?" I asked her. She nods her head up and down. Good, I don't want her exposing herself to everyone. Who knows. Some kind of Shinto priest might be there. "By the way Akeno, where's Lady Rias?"
"Rias is with Lady Sona in her territory. She's having a meeting with her along with Lady Seekvaria Agares and her cousin Sairaorg," she explained to me.
"Really? Then should you be there as her [Queen]?"
"Normally I would, but I was asked to send Shirone back home since she has yet to learn how to use magic circles." Ah, that's right. Shirone hasn't been a devil for as long as I have. I guess I have to teach her how to use her demonic power so at least she can teleport from here to the academy.
"Since Rias is away for the time being, I shall lead us into tonight's activities," Akeno said as she smiled.
It was cold tonight… My body was struggling to keep on moving through the endless blankets of snow, slowly turning red with my blood.
"My comrades… why? Why did you do that…?" I questioned myself. All of my friends… they sacrificed themselves to let me live… Why would the likes of God allow them to do that? To not only torture us with their so-called "training", their so-called "experiments, and their so-called sacrifice.
*Koff! Hagg!*
I coughed up more blood before falling face first into the snow. My body couldn't even move anymore. Everything feels so heavy. I feel like I could die at any second. Pathetic, I couldn't even avenge my comrades in any way possible. All of their hopes and dreams, gone. And soon, I will join them again. My only wish is that someone would make them pay… I don't even care who would do it. It could be the Devil himself. Just make them pay…
FLASH!
…A bright light entered my view before a figure emerged from it. I couldn't see what it was because my concussions was fading fast, but it seemed human… Even if it said something, I doubt I'd be able to hear them…
"Please… my comrades… stop them…. I…I…" that was all I could say before passing out.
The place I, Kuroka, was teleported in was a very snowy region. It was still snowing when I arrived. Akeno said there was a high level of greed around here, but the only thing before me was a young boy with blond hair laying in the snow with red splotches dying the snow around him. I guess it's his blood seeping out of his body. I guess he was trying to summon something right before he died. He said something about stopping his comrades or something like that. I decided to take a closer analysis on his condition. I picked up his body before rolling him over on his back. Blood was leaking out of every opening on his face. His skin was also in a weird tint of purple as well. But the main thing that was bothering me was the awful smell he has surrounding his body. There was no way to describe it besides poisonous. That when it hit me, he was poisoned.
"You there! Step away from the child!" A voice came out from out of nowhere. Before I knew it, a group of people came out of the trees surrounding us, holding some kind of objects in their hands and wearing some kind of masks on their faces.
"My, my. Seems like a little bat came out of their cave to play," another voice came from the crowd. A very old looking guy came out of the crowd. He was wearing clothing like a head priest of a church would wear. "So, mind explaining why the dirt of Hell is doing here in the mortal realm, devil?"
