Hydradoggo: Hey how's it going im the author but you can call me Ronny Glad your still here and I havent messed up too bad yet but i just want to say if i make any grammatic errors or anyone has any feedback on how i could make this story a little bit better please dont hesitate to comment on it and let me know where i messed up the feedback would really help me to improve as i am still very much new to this but also i dont want any sugarcoating, all i ask is no one bite any of my 3 heads off id very much like to keep rizo(my right head) and virgo(my left head) intact as they are a massive pain to regrow... On top of that i have to type using MY BIG MEATY CLAWS. But anyway i know the chapters are super short right now but hopefully as time goes on ill try to lengthen them a little bit more so they dont fly so quickly but dont drag on ( haha pun go brrr ) anyway hope you enjoy the story, infact how bout we take a peek at spyro and cynders reaction to malefors sudden unconditional surrender ( pulls down the fourth wall via drawstring ) Hope you guys enjoy! :)

Spyro wasn't sure how to respond to this development, not to long ago the dark master was trying to kill them, now he was bowing his head and surrendering. Cynder on the other claw had what could be described as an appropriate response given the abnormality of the situation.

"And just march you right into the heart of warfang?!?" She scoffed, almost tilting her nose up in disbelief. "Not a chance, you probaly just want us to take you there under the guise of a prisoner and when we get inside you'll turn on everyone there." Malefor tilted his head to the side almost in a curious display, now rising up to his full height again, now staring slightly down at the black dragoness before him.

"While you might be on to something, there are 2 things wrong with that plan, number one" He raised a single claw as he named the main flaw in Cynder's logic. "You already know very well that I couldnt fight off the two of you by myself much less an entire city due to the effects of mana burn which you are also feeling yourself right now am i correct?"

This caught Spyro's attention. The purple drake tilted his head curiously, his inquisitive nature shining through his caution. "Mana burn..? What is that? What do you mean were feeling its effects?" He questioned. Malefor turned to face the slightly younger, inexperienced warrior. "Mana burn is the result of using your elements far past the limitations your body would normally allow you to reach, when you were battling me you had used up all of your mana at some point or another, but because you were so filled with adrenaline and pushing yourselves to the very edge just to continue the fight, you didnt realise it at the time. Go on try to breath fire or shift the earth." He implored tilting his head to the side.

Spyro now thoroughly invested in knowing as to where this was going, decided to attempt to breath a small plume of flame to his left, only to be met with a natural puff of air being exhaled from his lungs. There were no flames, no smoke and not even a single spark. He turned to Malefor, partially dreading the truth that he was unable to use his elements. The older drake merely gazed back with his tired dual hued eyes. "As I suspected the only reason neither of you noticed this before was because in order to keep your elements from failing, you both began to tap into your connection to convexity completely by instinct alone, and now that your body is being given the chance to relax it has allowed that connection to cease, though I'd like to assure you not to begin dreading the loss of your elements due to the fact you have both gone through the same experience twice before, the first time was during your battle in convexity, the other after you defeated Gaul. Your elements and mana will return with time and rest that you can atleast be thankful for." He stated hoping to dismiss some of the male's concerns.

"And more importantly..." He turned to face Cynder once more, a sorrowful expression adorning his face "You know as well as I that the fighting has simply lasted far too long, and that it is time to let it end." He said voice full of palpable exhaustion.

"I know you have no reason to believe a word I say but do you have any other choice right now, its not as if you can simply tell me to get lost." He stated matter of factly a small smirk on his maw. Spyro scrunched his face in thought, when Cynder took a single trembling albeit, challenging step forward "We could simply kill you here and now, you said it yourself your not strong enough to fight us both off." she growled begining to bare her razor sharp teeth. The intimidating display causing virtually no fear in the larger purple male.

It was at this point Spyro came to a decision and spoke up "NO" he declared getting between cynder and the former dark lord before she could attempt to rip Malefor's throat out. "You'll come with us to warfang where the guardian's will decide your fate." He decided, casting a glance at Cynder who could only gawk at the fact that Spyro was going to allow the dark master to continue living. She looked at Spyro incredulously "Spyro... Are you sure this is a good idea," tilting her head to getsure towards the former tyrant in question. "trusting him could end horribly, what if this is another trap? Do we really want to take that chance?" She asked visibly frightened at the thought of all of this backfiring in their faces.

Spyro looked her straight in the eyes and nodded. "I do Cynder besides he surrendered willingly, and..." He turned to face Malefor directly. "There are some questions i really need to ask you if you'll answer them for me?" Malefor simply nodded yes in response before stating "I'd be more than pleased to answer whatever questions you may have if i have the answers to them, whether it has to do with Convexity or the event's of the past that I might know of, you only need ask and I'll gladly tell you what I know."

Spyro nodded in response and turned to face his dark scaled friend "Please Cynder, I really need you to trust me on this one, it's not our job to dish out punishment, if he willingly surrendered then i believe it's in our best interest to see to it he is tried for his crimes the correct way..." he turned to glance at Malefor once more who seemed to be glancing around at the surrounding area, seeming to be taking in the sights of the plains around them. He continued, his face adopting a frown "... I believe it's what Ignitus would have done..." Cynder could only gaze on as her friend was once again reminded of the brave fire guardian who had saved both of their live's giving up his own in order to allow them to make it across the belt of fire and defeat the dark master once and for all. In an attempt to comfort him she strode up close to him and wrapped her left wing around his neck in a small hug nuzzling her head into his chest suddenly surprising him.

As he began to feel the texture of her dark scales on his own bright purple one's. He began to return the hug with his own wing, slowly tucking his head on top of her own crested skull. "Thanks Cynder... It helps to have you here with me, it helps a lot..." He stated voice full of honesty and adoration for the black dragoness who had stayed by his side through thick and thin. Cynder sighed into his neck before softly whispering "If you believe that this is what he would have done, and your confident in this course of action, I'll stick by you all the way." In response Spyro began to part from the hug, Both hero's already missing the others touch. He turned back to Malefor once more and asked "Will you come with us to Warfang and allow yourself to face trial for everything that you've done?" It was phrased as a question but it may as well have been an order with how Spyro's steely purple gaze was fixated on him.

The fallen hero simply nodded before nodding his head towards the North "the sooner we reach the city the sooner you can feel safer knowing your among your friends, think of it that way." Cynder only grumbled at the blunt remark implicating that she was afraid as the purple dragon flapped his wings and took to the sky, Spyro falling behind him to keep a close eye on their recent foe, with the black dragoness staying by his side the whole way to ensure nothing happened to him. As they began to fly in the direction of warfang one thought echoed in her head "Can't wait to see Cyril's face when we show up with the dark master in tow." The thought of causing a little stress for the pompous ice dragon filling Cynder with a little bit of glee somewhat lightening her recently dampened mood.

~TimeSkip~

After about an hour of silent flying, not a word being spoken amongst the three young adults, they were steadily approaching the ever grand city of Warfang not long after the sun had set only did they arrive to see the site of one of the biggest battles of their lives the only indication of the city's presence amongst the darkness of the night being the flickering torch lights along one of the outer walls and the lit up dragon temple residing near the center of the city. As they descended and weaved their way amongst the towers and streets, Malefor had noticed out of the corner of his eye that Spyro had slowed down significantly when they began to turn and weave through the city's many buildings, seeming to be having trouble making tight turns at higher speeds. He allowed himself to slow down a bit to fly in besides the other drake, "You know you'd probaly have a lot less trouble making those turns if you leaned into them more and started tucking your legs closer to your body like so" he stated gesturing with his nose to his limbs which were folding at the joints to remain close to his torso rather than dangling below him as Spyro's were.

Spyro quirked an eye at this before realising there would be no harm in trying so he decided to attempt it, and as they took another turn to the left of another watchtower he discovered he wasn't having nearly as much trouble controlling his speed on those turns.

HOLD IT HOLD EVERYTHING (Cue freezeframe as Hydradoggo walks on screen) alright so i just want to make this absolutely cle- WHO CARES WHAT THEY THINK!?!? THEY DONT MATTER!!! R-RIZO WHAT THE HELL DUDE IM DOING SOMETHING SHUT UP!!!?!? (Shoving my right head out of frame) Anyway as i was saying, im probaly going to butcher a lot of stuff as far as anything that would have to do with aerodynamics or super complex sciences, because i am not really one of the most intellectual people and i just wanna ask yall not to blow up at me if i get something completely wrong which i most likely will sooner than later alright that is all anyway back to the show ( walks off screen before a clapping sound is heard as everything begins to move again )

Spyro turned to Malefor with a slight glance as they approached the dragon temple and allowed a small smile to Grace his muzzle "It worked thanks for that, I never once considered that such a small difference would make that much of a significant change in my control" he admitted. Malefor simply nodded and as they finally allowed the ground below them to grace their paws giving their tired wings some much needed rest, Cynder and Spyro let out a simultaneous sigh of relief to be back at what could be considered home now.

As Malefor followed closely behind the two hero's, he looked around at the currently very dark and quiet city, figuring all of its residents were no doubt sleeping soundly at this time, with the knowledge that the dark army had been defeated. As he gazed forward at Spyro and Cynder walking towards the front entrance to the temple, he began to dread the coming confrontation with the guardians but most importantly he was dreading seeing one of them in particular.

As they entered through the main entrance Malefor began to follow the duo down multiples hall's lined with stained glass depicting famous myths and hero's of dragonkind before arriving at the only door in the whole temple that was still illuminated with light, judging by the glow seeping out from beneath the door. As they grew closer they began to hear some familiar voices before Spyro and Cynder stopped in front of the large decorative wooden entrance. Malefor opted to stand just out of view of the doorframe to Spyro's left.

Spyro raised his right paw to the door and began to rap on it, causing the voices inside to stop suddenly, before a brief moment of silence. A comforting low toned voice from within stated "Come in."

Spyro pushed the door open

(Transition)

Sparx couldn't believe the nerve of Cyril, not in the slightest. The little dragonfly hovering in front of the elder dragons face demanding they send out a search party to find Cynder and Spyro. "What do you mean your not gonna look for them, what if their out there alive and hurt? huh!?!? Thats my brother out there fat and purple or not they could need help so why are you guys just sitting around on your butts not doing anything?!?" Cyril scoffed at the boldness of Spyro's adopted sibling, before he could say anything in retort however, Terrador spoke up in his deep voice. "Sparx we understand you are worried for Spyro and Cynder bu-" he was cut off immediatly by the small yellow bug. "Who said I was worried about Cynder, I don't know what your talking about, hehehe" he chuckled nervously crossing his arms after regaining his composure.

The old earth guardian sighed in exasperation but maintained his calm demeanour in the face of Sparx antics. "Regardless we are concerned for their safety as well, immensely in fact but the city of Warfang cannot just send everyone out to look for them when we dont even know where they are, certainly not when the city is in dire need of repair after the seige. I promise Sparx if they have yet to return within a few days time, so long as repairs continue to go smoothly I will see to it personally that at least a few search parties be organized to find them. You have my word." He consoled the small dragonfly.

Then they heard a knock at the door, which was odd due to the fact that just about everyone in the city was now slumbering in their beds and the only ones that should be in the temple at the time were the guardian's and Sparx. Terrador quickly glanced at his fellow guardian's who glanced back in response before he saw Cyril nod his head in agreement.

Terrador cleared his throat. "Come in" he said. The door began to creak open and at that moment Sparx let out a happy and gleeful cry at the sight of his brother, Spyro standing there with Cynder at his side. The little dragonfly darting forward to latch onto the purlpe male's muzzle, who had only managed to take 2 steps into the room before being attacked by the relieved insect.

"OH THANK GOODNESS YOUR OKAY PURPLE BUTT!! I missed you man." He turned to look at Cynder before detaching from his brother's snout. He crossed his arms hovering in front of her face narrowing his eye's at her. "Cynder" he stated. "Sparx" she responded. His frown and arms fell being replaced by a happy smile and a gentle tiny hand patting her snout. "Good to see you too nightmare girl." Cynder and Spyro could only gawk at Sparx word's as the little flyer had never once given Cynder a genuine compliment of any sort before. Cynder allowed a toothy smile to Grace her features. "Awww Sparx did you really miss me that much if I had known I'd have just stayed with you instead" she snickered.

"Haha very funny Cynder." He said slightly miffed at her usual snarkiness before the smile returned to his small face. "Just wanted to say thanks by the way." Cynder quirked an eyebrow at this. Sparx continued. "You took care of my bro for me so I am swallowing my pride and saying thank you, dont get used to it the great Sparx has a reputation to keep up ya know." Cynder smiled sweetly at the dragonfly's brief moment of genuine kindness. A rarity she would come to appreciate. "No problem Sparx."

A brief clearing of a throat from terrador gleaned the attention of the three friends. "As nice as this reunion is you three, I would like to remind you that there is the matter of discussing what to do now that the dark army has been defeated." He looked to the young purple drake. "We are immensely happy to see your both alright though" Volteer spoke up striding up next to the earth guardian with Cyril in tow who seemed to be confused about something "Where is Ignitus, Spyro?" The ice drake asked.

At this Spyro and Cynder's expressions darkened visibly. Cynder started "Ignitus.. he... he di-" she was cut off when Spyro intterupted her. "He's gone" Spyro's face was pointed towards the ground, scrunched up in a visible display of anger, and regret. "He gave up everything to get us through the ring of fire... He died to save us... He said... That he had never done right by either of us but he could do one thing to ensure we had a chance."

At this all three guardian's and Sparx's expressions became saddened by the loss of the kind fire dragon. Cyril spoke first. "Ignitus... Always was the honorable type... It doesnt suprise me that this is how he would go out... But for it to actually happen." He inhaled deeply before letting out a breath of cold air. "I was hoping I would never see the day."

Volteer voiced his thoughts, his normally chipper and fast paced voice now slowed and full of sorrow allowing everyone to understand him easier. "Ignitus was an inspiration to us all, he found you Spyro, you reignited his hope for this world and he helped ignite ours in turn. I am certain he is watching over us even now smiling down on you for your victory." The electric guardian spoke with such honesty and such certainty it was impossible to attempt to prive him wrong.

Terrador was the last to speak. "Ignitus will be deeply missed, we will all mourn and grieve his passing but let us not forgot what he would want... he would desire us to make sure to move forward with our lives to make sure that nothing he did was in vain." His voice was slightly shaky but only barely, his composure holding. "We will organize a funeral for Ignitus soon, Spyro I expect you will wish to attend?" The purple drake nodded in response having recovered his composure.

Spyro's expression twisted in a slight grimace, as a very important thought came to mind. "Um theres just... One other thing we need to tell you about..." His voice filled with a nervous tone that carried a sense of caution for what would surely come next. Cynder's own breath hitched in her throat at this, knowing exactly where this conversation was going. Volteer tilted his blue hued horns to the side, curious. "What is it Spyro is something wrong?"

The purple and black dragons parted from the still open doorway. "well you could say that... The thing is we didnt come back... Alone per say." As he said this the guardian's could only stare in shock as they witnessed a purple and red hued paw step into view from the right of the doorway, followed by a narrow square purple muzzle tinted with red at its front, trailed behind was the sturdy frame of a dragon who has grown to know battle on an intimate level, tipped off with the axe bladed tail of a warrior, aswell as topped by two large purple wings tipped with 2 small claws at their peaks, the bones themselves being adorned by tan membranes.

Two dull eye's, one yellow and the other purple gazed back at the guardian's in a state of examination, almost how a scientist would dissect a specimen with their instruments, the dark drake before them almost appeared to be picking apart their emotions and psyches with his eye's alone. After the initial shock had passed, three different expressions all surfaced on the face's of the elder dragons, Volteer's a mix of fear and curiosity, Cyril's a mix of what appeared to be disgust and a bit of anger. While Terrador's face conveyed only caution and a little bit of what seemed like hatred at the moment in regards to what he was faced with.

He let out a low growl. "Malefor" he almost snarled at the Former dark lord that now stood before them. Malefor allowed a small smile to grace his features before tilting his gaze to meet the earthen dragons green eye's.

"Hello Terrador"

"My old friend."

(Large gooey black paws rip through the screen tearing it to ribbons, a large black canine face with pure white features meeting the eye's of the audience)

Welp... There you have it chapter 2 everybody i was trying to make it longer and i hope i succeeded sufficiently at least for now obviously its still a bit short but im gonna work on that as time goes on. Anyway... Id like to let it be known that despite what i said in the prologue and in the description i have officially committed to this story and will continue to write it as best as i can. Btw i just wanted to let anyone who might pick up on it know, that my depiction of Malefor is mostly based off the design of Malia a version of Malefor that was created by justkindof and Ipintsibooanyone has any questions at all ask them in the comments and i will get to as many of them as i can in each chapter and as long as they arent super invasive or spoiler related i will do my best to answer them at the beginning of each new chapter. That being said if you enjoy my story and have thoughts id love to hear them so make sure to stick around if you wanna see what happens with the guardians next ok. See ya around next time!!
