Welcome back to my story/fanfiction, I hope you'll enjoy this chapter, in this chapter we'll be starting to get into something of a first arc, I don't know how many chapters this arc will be but it is the first we will encounter.
The previous second chapter of the original two chapters was extremely different from this one, and I am honest that I basically completely rewrote almost everything that was there with only maybe the beginning of this chapter being similar in nature.
I still hope you all will enjoy it though!
-Chapter Two-
After about a week of lessons, Hadrian was finally allowed to go and make a trip into the human world. He was very excited to be able to go and was now waiting for his father's Rook who would be accompanying him on his first trip. While his parents felt he would technically be able to do it on his own they felt better sending one of his father's pieces with him for added safety in the case that something did happen.
"Alexandrov! So, you're the one that is taking me to the human world?" Hadrian asked as he could see a rather large man walking in his direction.
"Indeed, I have been little lord." The blue haired man said with a smile as he ruffled Hadrian's hair. "I had nothing to do for a little while anyways and your father felt I would probably enjoy going out again myself as well." He admitted.
Hadrian nodded after displacing the man's hand from his head, Alexandrov was one of his father's strongest peerage members. The reason for this was because he was a Half-Dragon, he didn't know who his father was but his mother raised him with the knowledge of his heritage and sought out the help of the Devils once his draconic heritage began to show, with the absence of the Buné clan who would normally be better suited for this the Phenex clan helped the mother and son duo and later in life in return for the help and because of the friendship between Alexandrov and Ruval he had eventually joined his father's peerage.
"Well, I'm happy you're willing to come along." Hadrian grinned. "You alright with going to England? I've always wanted to visit there." Hadrian admitted, this was partially due to sentiment he wanted to see how different everything was here based upon the difference in years and world.
"That is no problem with me, we do however have to be careful there are parts of the United Kingdom that are not available to us because of the Church and the Tuatha Dé Danann, even if the former don't have as much territory there and the latter are a lot weaker than in the past it still wouldn't be advised to piss them off so to say." Alexandrov told Hadrian.
Hadrian nodded and soon after Alexandrov prepared a teleportation circle which deposited them somewhere in a back alley in what appeared to be London. They simply took their time to look around the city, they even did a bit of shopping here and there when Hadrian or Alexandrov saw something they liked.
Hadrian felt happy to be walking about these streets again, he just took joy in the fact that he was out and about again. And Alexandrov wasn't bad company either, his father's Rook was after all a rather funny man and very laid back compared to some of his father's other servants which helped the two in getting along rather well.
"Anything else you would specifically want to go see little lord?" Alexandrov asked later that day as it came closer and closer to the evening.
"I think so." Hadrian thought it over and hesitated a little before turning towards the Half-Dragon. "There's this place in Scotland I would like to visit, I know where it is." Hadrian admitted.
The blue-haired male raised an eyebrow at Hadrian before shrugging, "Well, seeing as you know where to go how about you take us there?" he asked.
Hadrian nodded and they moved towards another out of the way alley and checked if anyone was around before Hadrian concentrated and a magic circle with the Phenex crest appeared beneath their feet. "Here we go." He said softly before they were once again taken away in a flash of light.
When they arrived at their destination Hadrian and Alexandrov both took a moment to look around, what Hadrian saw made him rather sad. He had a small bit of hope that maybe there would be something in the place of Hogwarts, but all he saw where some little remnants of ruins, a large lake, and hills, mountains and forests surrounding him.
"Why did you want to come here Hadrian?" Alexandrov asked a little confused, "I can sense nothing around for a couple of miles." The half-dragon looked at Hadrian and saw the sad expression on his young charges face. "What's wrong?" he approached Hadrian and laid a hand on his shoulder shocking the boy out of his emotional state.
"…It's…" Hadrian hesitated, "I had a strange number of dreams a while back, and this place appeared in these dreams." The young boy let out a heavy breath. "I just expected…. I- I hoped for more then this." He admitted.
"I'm sorry Hadrian, that is wasn't what you expected, but as you'll come to learn hardly anything in life is as you want or expect it to be." The half-dragon said with understanding in his voice. "But, not all is lost now is it? We had a very fun day today, and even if you didn't find what you were hoping for today, maybe you'll able to find something else that will satisfy you just as much, something that'll bring you more joy then ever in the future." The taller male grinned at Hadrian and Hadrian couldn't help but give a little grin back.
Hadrian understood what the rook was saying but still felt a little sad on the inside, but he was right, even if Hogwarts or something similar wasn't here he would one day be able to find his friends in this world and he couldn't wait for that moment.
Hadrian was however once again startled out of his musing as the rook walked past him among the ruins that were placed before them. Hadrian decided to follow after him and simply looked around as well.
They eventually decided to take a stroll through the forest together as a nice and calming end to their day out. Hadrian could almost feel that there was magic in this forest it wasn't the same as the forbidden forest back in his old world, but he could feel the natural energy of the forest and something that felt like a blanket of protection weaved throughout the forest.
It was calming especially for someone as in tune with nature like Alexandrov, and one as sensitive to magical energies like Hadrian. Hadrian's eyes began to shine with a golden light and he could see the literal patterns of magic weaved in and around the trees and could see them lead all the way towards the center of the forest.
The Eyes of Wisdom, the Paimon family clan trait, by many it was seen as a rather useless but these eyes showed the truth of the world. It would show one magic, the truth behind illusions, and more. But Hadrian was currently only at the level where he could see past minor Illusions and see the imprint magic and energy left behind.
"Alexandrov, you fell all of this as well right." He asked the large rook.
The half-dragon nodded as he looked at Hadrian and his glowing eyes, "This magic, it is all of the forest itself I can't see it like you can, but I can definitely sense and feel it." He admitted.
Hadrian hummed, "I can see this network of protection magic utilizing the forests own magic, and it's leading towards and protecting the center of this forest… I'm tempted to follow the trail." He looked at the half-dragon to see what he would think.
"I can't truly order you around, but I'm not sure if this would be the best idea little lord, whilst I understand your curiosity and if you truly want to go I will follow you, I advise against it for now, perhaps what's at the center of this forest doesn't want to be disturbed."
Hadrian nodded in agreement, but still continued onward, he felt like he needed to continue, to see this all through. And it wasn't the magic around him that was doing this either, this… it was something else and Hadrian knew he wouldn't be satisfied until he had managed to uncover what it was that was drawing him in.
The two continued down the path the rook following after Hadrian who led them in the direction of the center of this forest. They had already been walking for about an hour now and were getting closer to the center of the forest the magic around them had begun to intensify becoming stronger and stronger as they went deeper in.
"We're close, I think we'll be approaching the true barrier soon." Hadrian said, he could see the magic swirling about, creating something of a dome around the forest center, it was invisible to the naked eye but to his Eyes of Wisdom he could clearly see every detail.
"Then allow me to walk in front, in case we do meet any hostiles I'll be better able to shield you should something happen." The rook said as he and Hadrian switched positions.
With the rook now in front they slowly approached the center and thusly the barrier, but before they could even come within touching distance of the barrier an arrow hit the ground before Alexandrov.
"You there! Halt!" A voice shouted out from within the barrier, there upon the branch of one of the trees they saw a man holding a bow as he notched another arrow. "How did you approach our sacred ground!" he called out to them.
Alexandrov stood a little taller before calling back towards their assailant, "We were wandering through the woods when the magic present within it drew us in, we did not come here to do anyone harm and did not know these grounds were sacred!"
Hadrian looked at the man with his Eyes of Wisdom and could see the energy swirling around him and interacting with the barrier. He assumed this meant the man was in some way shape or form connected with the barrier itself.
"And how are we supposed to believe that! State your name and faction!" the what the two Devils could now identify as what appeared to be an Elf called out as his hood shifted and his pointed ears appeared.
Alexandrov looked at Hadrian and both nodded, "I am Alexandrov Vasiliev, Rook to Ruval Phenex heir of the House of Phenex, this is his son and my charge Hadrian Phenex secondary heir to the House of Phenex, we belong to what is commonly known as the New Satan Faction." The half-dragon confessed. "We swear on our honor that we did not come here with any negative intentions.
Hadrian stepped forward a little, "Please believe us, I felt the magic within the forest, and I don't know what it was, but something drew me here." He called out.
The elf seemed to contemplate something before making a hand gesture and a number of other people jumped from the trees down towards the ground. The man who they now assumed was their leader jumped down as well and stepped past the barrier. "Very well, for now we'll allow you entry if only to find out what drew you here…" the elf his gaze then hardened. "But should any of you make any wrong move we won't hesitate to strike you down, even of you are the heir to a noble devil family." Most of the other elves behind the older elf looked at them with wary gazes and surrounded them as they were led into the barrier.
When they fully passed the barrier both Hadrian and Alexandrov let out gasps of shock in awe at the magic and sights before them. The magical energy here was so thick it felt like you were simply breathing in pure magic every time you took a breath.
In the true center stood a humongous tree with green and golden leaves, and entrance was at the bottom and branch like stairs curled all around the massive tree. Surrounding the tree, a full-on village stood filled with various Elves and even some Humans and Half-Elves could be seen running about from older people to very young children.
"What is this place?" Hadrian asked in awe as he looked around, "I've never seen a place more beautiful than this." He admitted.
The man currently leading them towards the village gave the young devil a soft look, "This is the home of the last surviving Wood Elves, we never numbered that many, but with the expansion of the human race and eventually all of legend and myth hiding themselves we were forced to retreat here or go extinct… welcome to Anenfel, to our knowledge the last Elven settlement in existence…"
Thank you for reading this chapter, it is indeed a little shorter than the last one, but I felt this was the best place to leave it at for now.
Once again constructive criticism is welcome, and any peerage or character recommendations are welcome as well. I'm also open to any questions and if I get any reviews with questions in regard to the story I'll try and answer them as best as possible without spoiling anything I have planned.

I decided that for the pawn that I had planned with two pieces that they would probably be better suited for a Knight piece after looking everything over, so I simply switched their piece but haven't decided on anything else right now.
Chapter three is in the works, but I can't promise when it will truly come out. I do hope it will be here before the end of the month and have a lot of inspiration to work with so I hope you'll enjoy all of it.
