A/N: I don't know how many of you anticipated this chapter and the revelations here but... you're welcome anyways!

The sixth file: Conan Arc
Subfile two: Miyano sisters

Yamato drummed his fingers against the steering wheel of his rental car. He'd been staking out one of the organization's laboratories for a couple of days already with Fujioka. While staking out places wasn't anything new or strange for either of them, this was the second time this month.

"Is Hibiki even sure this is the place that Sherry works at?" Fujioka asked, putting down his camera and looking at Yamato.

"There were only two options… And first one's data security was so weak Hibiki could break through it remotely. So yes, this is the place."

"Why the interest in Sherry in particular?"

"…Sorry, I cannot tell you." There were numerous reasons as to why it was important to locate this place and Sherry in particular. But none of them were for Fujioka to hear. The other man had taken surprisingly well his near death and subsequent makeover in order to hide. The curly dark brown hair was now cut much shorter and dyed black. Anything more drastic hadn't been needed as the organization thought him dead.

All the same though… While Fujioka Takao worked for Yamato and Shugo for now, there was no way to trust him with more detailed information yet.

"Okay." Fujioka shrugged, unconcerned. Considering the work he used to do the organization, this was small stuff. And job benefits were better as well.

Shugo frowned at the information put together by what his hacking had unearthed and what Yamato's nets had caught.

Miyano Akemi had been offered a deal. The 1 Billion Yen Robbery deal to be precise. And the woman had taken it.

"Too little, too late…" The young man muttered. The woman was probably recruiting her partners already. There was nothing to do about that. Just to keep an eye on things.

"Yamato… how good are you at driving a taxi?"

"Moderate. And I have good knowledge of the area. Why?" The blonde frowned, lifting his head up from his pillow. The stakeouts had finally worn on the man and he kept napping whenever he wasn't on the field.

"I think I'll plant you to the same taxi company that Hirota Kenzou works at, he is the most visible of the three and can be used as an indicator for the timeline." Shugo searched information on the company and of possible empty employee slots. "Fujioka can keep an eye on the laboratory, not that I think Sherry will appear outside much."

"I gotta dye my hair for this job, don't I?" Yamato grumbled.

"Yes."

"Okay. Wake me up tomorrow and let me sleep now." The blonde burrowed underneath his futon. Shugo smiled at his friend and brother figure who'd recently celebrated his twenty-ninth birthday.

"Sure."

Yamato did not like being a taxi driver but he did it anyways. He heard the rumors about Hirota making speed runs with his car at the end of every shift and installed a tracker to the car for Shugo to map out the route. He also found the man's apartment, just in case.

Then came the heist. Hirota quit the job day before. Three-person team struck the bank. Hirota escaped with the loot. Next day Shugo told him that person named 'Hirota Masami' had approached Mouri Kogorou. The detective was slowly raising to fame… apparently thanks to Kudou Shinichi's shrunken form that was now called Edogawa Conan. Yamato was not impressed. Especially after visiting the Kudou house he noticed the names Edogawa Ranpo and Arthur Conan Doyle next to each other on the book spines. Sloppy, sloppy, Shin-chan…

Mouri started his investigation then. He visited the taxi company and heard the rumors as well. After the visit, Yamato quit too. He had been only a temp for someone on a sick leave so it was not so suspicious.

Shugo in the other hand…

The Miyano sisters were meeting at a café, discussing about Akemi's mission and Edogawa Conan. Man, the boy was popular.

And both sisters were busy with their work or with escape. Akemi had visited Dejima house while Shiho had visited Kudou house. And it was this meeting that Shugo had his only chance.

"Hisashiburi, Nice-oneesan." The boy greeted the older of the two sisters after approaching the table. Both of them startled but Shiho was the one remaining tense even after Akemi relaxed once recognizing Shugo.

"Shugo-kun, you've grown!" Akemi smiled at the boy. "Last time we saw… it was nine years ago, wasn't it? A bit before you and Yamato-san left Tokyo."

"Correct." Shugo nodded.

"You've returned permanently then?" The woman frowned in worry.

"Yeah… Should be relatively safe for us." He shrugged. Yamato had issued a warning to Gin after all and there was no direct link between him and Shugo. Moreover, the organization still didn't know Yamato's current name.

"Onee-san, who is this?" Shiho asked sharply.

"Oh, this is Midorikawa Shugo-kun. He is Yamato-san's ward." Akemi introduced the boy. "Shugo-kun, this is my younger sister Shiho."

"Yoroshiku." Shugo nodded to the scientist.

"Yoroshiku." Shiho replied with reluctance.

"Shugo-kun, why approach me now? Yamato-san never did anything unnecessary and knowing he has raised you, I doubt you'd either," Akemi asked then.

"There is chatter about your mission and what will happen after you retrieve the money." Shugo informed her bluntly. "If possible, contact Yamato-nii at your earliest convenience so contingencies can be made."

"I see…" The woman frowned. "Thank you for telling me, Shugo-kun."

"It was nothing. Please keep safe, nice-oneesan."

Shugo left, leaving the sisters troubled.

"You aren't really going to contact Kurosawa, are you?" Shiho demanded.

"I think I must…" Akemi frowned. "I hope whatever chatter they have picked up, doesn't involve you."

"Oneesan! They are dangerous! And unknowns! At least the organization's stance about us is already clear."

"I trust Yamato-san. We've met a couple of times past few years and nothing has happened. Shugo-kun in the other hand is talented with computers and if he says they have picked chatter, I have no reason to doubt him."

"…Very well. I'll trust your judgement on this matter, even though I do not agree with this course of action."

"Thank you, Shiho." Akemi smiled wearily. She really hoped everything would turn out fine.

There was one preparation that their plan required and that was testing of zombie powder. It was incredibly risky and the only test subjects they had, were themselves plus Fujioka.

Zombie powder was made out of tetrodotoxin i.e. blowfish poison and with correct amount applied to skin, caused the victim… or patient to fall in a fake death state. The first time Shugo had heard of it, was from a CSI Miami episode and had since done some research about the matter. The correct dose needed to be carefully applied do it wouldn't become dangerous but if they pulled this off…

Meanwhile Akemi had contacted Yamato and the man had gotten her measurements for a custom-made bulletproof vest that'd be basically invisible under her clothing.

Then came the day…

Yamato got the call from Akemi, telling that Mouri had tracked Hirota down. That she had her other accomplice were going to meet with him.

Next day, Hirota was found dead and the other accomplice took refuge at a hotel with the money. The thug probably had a crush on Akemi or something as he hadn't tried to kill the woman as well.

In any case though, Yamato staked the hotel and gave Akemi the bullet proof vest and zombie powder, to be used at her meeting with Gin and the aftermath, in order to fake her death. Shugo's knowledge of this world was invaluable in getting the timing and event order right.

Then it was waiting game. With Kagemiya connections, they'd gotten an ambulance to use and with Shugo redirecting all cellphone signals in order to pick up the one emergency call about Akemi… Yeah, they were really doing this.

The suitcases fell down at the elevator. Yamato watched the Mouri entourage lift them back up for Akemi, not recognizing her without her school girl disguise.

She left the suitcases at the hotel's luggage hold before taking a taxi to the docks. Then Ran and Conan ran out of the elevator, towards the taxi queue.

"Okay, Shugo, it's happening now." Yamato spoke to the mic on his collar and headed for where Shugo had parked his motorcycle The boy was already standby at the ambulance, waiting for Yamato with the paramedic uniforms.

There was a gunshot. Shugo flinched at the sound coming from his headset, connected to the bug on Akemi's bulletproof vest that was rigged with fake blood. Akemi's own blood actually, drawn from her the same day she met Yamato for measurements. There should not be any doubt about her death once everything was said and done.

Then there were voices. Conan and Ran. The kid sent Ran to call the cops and ambulance. The first call Shugo let go through to correct sources. The second one he picked himself, using a voice changer to make sure she wouldn't recognize him.

Yamato joined him in the meanwhile and changed to the whites of paramedics before taking the wheel of the ambulance. Shugo stashed his makeshift operation center out of sight, keeping only the earpiece, hidden under his hair. Make-up and some light prothesis on his face would make him unrecognizable.

They collected Akemi's unmoving body. The conversation between the woman and Conan had gone just like in the original story. Good.

The Kagemiya helped fake Akemi's records at the hospital. Once the investigation concluded, they provided a Yamada Yuna to be cremated and buried.

Meanwhile Akemi recovered from the usage of zombie power and a cracked rib at the hospital, under the name Takenaka Saya.

And it was up to Shugo to get her in the know of Kagemiya affairs as well as his and Yamato's aim. Akemi was skeptical but she was more worried about Shiho than about the potential moral dilemmas of their future actions. Thus she agreed to assist the two of them.

The Hunters had gained a new member.

Shugo kept an eye on Mouri Detective Agency while Saya became elementary school teacher at Haido Elementary. Some of her closest colleagues were Yonehara Akiko and Shibuya Natsuko. The two teachers got along well though with Yonehara there was an undercurrent of tension when it came to interacting with other teachers. Akemi's words… that made Shugo suspect that maybe she had some Kagemiya sensitivity after all.

But Shugo and Yamato kept an ear out for chatter in the organization in the meanwhile. No one doubted Akemi's death. Shiho was kept in the dark but she was slowly starting to rebel. It was only a matter of time before she'd try a suicide.

They were all holding their breaths.

A/N: A bit shorter chapter but I felt it was good to end here... for those who don't remember the two teacher mentioned here at the bottom: Yonehara Akiko was from the skilodge murder case... the murderer that is. Shibuya Natsuko in the other hand is Jodie's friend that was attacked and who Bourbon used to get more info on Jodie. Haido Elementary School is almost as sad place than Teitan... I mean that kidnapped pianist boy from Bach Air G-string was from Haido as well...
