~NO POV~

"I think I'm a werewolf."

They froze, Cubby and Izzy looked at each other, then Jake, then back at each other. They believe him, Jake would never lie about something as serious as this, and with his recount, the sudden overprotectiveness, and circumstantial evidence, they knew he was right. But still, hearing it out loud was kind of bizarre.

They looked back at Jake, who looked relieved to get something like that off his chest, but he also looked to be slightly nervous, as if they would laugh at him or something. 'Which is ridiculous, how long have we been friends?'

"Okay Jake, we believe you," Cubby starts, "we know you would never lie about something as important as this. And, frankly, I think it's cool."

The relief in his eyes was almost palpable, but also unexpected. If he is a werewolf, then things will be very different around here.

Izzy's POV

It's 1 pm, about six hours since that bomb has been dropped on us. Not that we weren't prepared for it. And yes, we know what bombs are, we are pirates after all.

We are currently at the mermaid lagoon, occasionally chatting to the mermaids about whatever exciting thing has happened recently. Everyone knows that the Mermaids are the biggest gossip in Neverland and Sea. Eventually, the Mermaids bring up what they dubbed "the howl".

"It was so loud and clear, it echoed off the walls of the lagoon and traveled through the water," lamented a blonde mermaid.

"I know! I could hear it from my home!" A mermaid with brown hair affirmed, "but the thing is, it wasn't scary at all. It was as if whatever made that sound wanted to comfort us!" She said with a bright smile.

I turn around to see Jake looking slightly uncomfortable, but he doesn't show it on his face. He's terrible at lying, but he is pretty good at hiding emotions. He doesn't look ashamed, but it seems to be the fact that they are all talking about him as if he isn't there, even if they don't know it.

This went on for about 30 minutes, just us swimming in the lagoon and drying off in the sun, while they talked about their day. At the end of these 30 minutes, we decided to leave. We here in Neverland are very impatient.

We went the long way back to Pirate island, walking as far along Neverland as we could, content to be in each other's presence for as long as possible. The sun was already high in the sky, just starting to set, but the trees stretched out after it, leaving all three of us in the shade.

Jake is wearing his captain uniform, his captain's sword is hidden behind his back, invisible, and ready to materialize when needed. He says that all he needs to summon it is faith.

We finally reach the far end of the island, and when we do, we meet Bucky, our loyal ship. We hop on and order 'em to sail us back to Pirate Island.

Jake's POV

It's the beginning of dusk, and we are admiring the sun starting to set in the distance like we always do when there is no adventure. All in all, it was a pretty uneventful day.

Suddenly, as if on cue, I hear a very familiar crow in the distance, just as the moon rises behind us and the sky flashes green for a few seconds. "PETER!" We all excitedly exclaim. We all run over to give him a big hug.

My excitement dies, however, when I feel a pull behind me. I turn around blearily and look right at the object of my attention. Now everyone, including Peter Pan, is staring at me, confused before they see what I'm staring at. But I can barely register them.

"It's so beautiful," I think. The pull, the tug in my gut, grows stronger, and suddenly, the light which is, for some reason, weaker flashes across my vision. It dissipates, and I do what I am sure I have never done before, but it feels like I have done it all my life. I take a deep breath and howl.

I register gasps from behind me, so I turn back around to them. They all look taller, with mystified expressions. Peter in particular looks the most surprised, and he walks closer, as I tilt my head to the side in confusion.

He kneels next to him and extends his hand, "Jake?" he whispers, almost in disbelief. It's only then that I act, I almost jump on him in excitement, forcing him to catch and hold on to me. And now I'm doing something I have never done before, I licked him on the cheek.

It's only then that I realize what I am doing, and have a good look at my arms, er, legs. They are thin and covered with black fur that leads up to my body, and I realize that I have been

I abruptly stop and try squirming around, anything to escape, but Peter's calloused hands stop me. And I vaguely register my pack huddled around me, comforting me. "Wait... Pack?" A shiver of warmth, and right, races throughout my body, thrumming through my veins.

Pack…
