Ch 2 Uprising - On the Eve of Battle
"A man?...And a child?" Riddic said in astonishment. Indeed, a few feet away from him laid a child and a man holding hands amongst the refuse.
He walked over to the two, scanning over their bodies: The child was butt naked and had a hairstyle that was more commonly seen among female Saiyans rather than man had short, spiky hair and wore a unique arrangement of Battle Armor; A green armored plating, like one of the ones that would normally covered one's arm or leg, covered his lower chest and down a few inches on his left leg. A red chest plate that also covered his left breast covered his upper chest and connected to a black shoulder cap. Underneath the armor the man wore a dull black spandex suit.
Both of them had serious wounds, but none fatal assuming they were treated soon.
Riddic knelt down, he reached over to the child's face and gently rubbed it. "You couldn't be older than a few days, you didn't deserve such a cruel fate."
Riddic looked over at the man, the latter's eyes were open. "Wh-who-?" The man struggled to say, his voice filled with pain and exhaustion.
"My name is Riddic. I'm here to help you."
The Saiyan man looked at the child next to him. "My son..."
"He'll be fine once I get you two out of here." Riddic stood up, scooped up the unconscious child with one hand then extended his other to the man. The Saiyan hesitated a few moments before grabbing Riddic's hand, the latter pulled him up and helped him stand.
"Thank you...You saved us."
"Don't mention it." Riddic said as he carefully shifted the light weight baby in his one hand, freeing his index and middle fingers. "You don't know it yet, but this is the second time I'm saving your lives."
The man raised his eyebrow. Riddic gave him a half-smile. "I fill you in once we treat those wounds. Don't you worry one bit."
The Saiyan sighed. "Paragus...My name is Paragus." He looked at his son and smiled. "And his name, my son's name, is Broly."
3 hours later...
In one of the many medical chambers spread throughout Planet Vegeta, Riddic watched as the two he rescued a few hours ago receive treatment from a pair of scientists and medical officers named Planthorr and Malaka.
Planthorr was a short, elderly humanoid man with a full gray beard and pointy ears. His college Malaka was a brown-skinned reptilian alien with an orange mohawk. Both were around the same height and wore the same uniform; A smaller set of Battle Armor shoulder and upper chest plates atop a white cloth that stretched down to their feet.
The two doctors were strangely friendly to Saiyans and helped watch over their young before the recent coup, now they continue to act and assist the Saiyans as if nothing ever changed.
The reason behind this behavior could have been any of the following;
1. They truly don't care what happens to their 'master' as long as they can continue working.
2. They, like many within the Planet Trade Organization despised Frieza and were more than willing to help out his enemies, or more accurately his killer.
3. These two actually took a liking to the Saiyan race -which is something very unique outside other warrior races- and wished to help them in any way they could.
4. This was a direct result of this "Doctor's Pledge" that Riddic and various others have heard of.
In the end it didn't really matter what their reasons were, as long as they wanted to help his race that was all Riddic needed to know.
Minutes passed, the sound of beeps and the pressing of buttons followed by the low hum of the medical pods were the only things keeping the room from going deeply silent.
"They are stable, if that's what you're wondering." Malaka suddenly said as he continued to monitor Paragus and Broly.
His colleague Planthorr walked over to the silver-haired Saiyan. "It's a good thing you brought them to us when you did." The elderly man said as he turned to face the two in the medical pods. "Judging from these wounds I'd guess they were caught in the battle on the surface the other day."
Riddic shock his head. "I doubt that." He stared at the face of Paragus, the latter's eyes were closed as the liquid within the pod slowly healed his wounds. "I found these two in a dump. Thrown away like the very garbage they laid on."
Planthorr spun his head back. "My word...Why were they there?"
"That's what I'd like to know." Riddic said as he crossed his arms.
As if summoned by that very question, King Vegeta and a handful of his Royal Guard paced into the room. The Saiyan King looked furiously at Riddic as he approached. "What were you thinking?! Do you have any idea what you've done?!" He shouted angrily.
"I saved the lives of two Saiyans. Something I've been doing a lot recently." Riddic answered as he turned toward King Vegeta. "Are you telling me that I was wrong in saving these two? And for what reason should I have left this man and his son to die in such a place?"
King Vegeta stared at Riddic, his reason for ridding these two seem silly now in the face of the Saiyan of Legend. Funny, he ordered the execution of an abnormally strong infant and his protective father in fear of the child being a Super Saiyan and here he was, explaining to thee Legendary Super Saiyan how he tried to kill these two out of a false paranoia.
How the proud king wished Riddic never found these two.
As the King of Saiyans tried to think of an explanation that wouldn't result in making him look like a fool, Paragus opened his eyes. The wounded Saiyan blinked, clearing his eyes of the liquid around him. He scanned the room until he spotted King Vegeta. Anger boiled up inside Paragus, the monitors beeped in response to the Saiyan's elevated heart rate.
"It seems you've upset him..." Malaka said casually, still keeping his gaze on the monitors before him.
Riddic and King Vegeta looked at Paragus. Riddic placed his left hand on his chin "Well this does explain a few things..." The silver-haired Saiyan lowered his hand and looked back at the Saiyan King. "Tell me; On what charge did these two deserve to die by your order? "
King Vegeta meet Riddic's eyes and frowned. There was no getting out of it now. "That infant had an immense power level: A reading of 10,000. When I heard of this, I found it odd and..." Vegeta looked at the ground, he couldn't bring himself to admit it.
"You grew concerned of such a great power and feared of what may happen if he should mature." Riddic said, filling in for the proud king.
Vegeta looked back up. "I thought he was a Super Saiyan and I sought to contain the problem."
Riddic smiled and let out a small huff. "Well it seems you thought wrong." Riddic walked towards the medical pod containing Broly. "Though it is rare that an infant was a power that high and is a just cause to be concerned, but as you and I both clearly know he is no Super Saiyan."
King Vegeta took a half step forward. "Indeed he is not, but his power is still a concern."
"Perhaps..." Riddic placed his hand on his chin. He looked at King Vegeta. "I'll take these two under my wing. If the boy becomes a threat I'll take full responsibility."
King Vegeta frowned. "Do you think it's as simple as that?"
"Is there a problem?"
"Tsk, let me spell it out for you." King Vegeta held up his left hand and clenched it, it shook as the proud king contained his anger. "I already ordered the death of these two. If you 'take them under your wing' that will be a direct defiance to me, your king."
"Well if you want to be technical, your not my king. Not anymore anyway."
King Vegeta raised his eyebrow, confused by the statement. Riddic smiled. "You don't remember? Well it was 6 years ago."
Riddic crossed his arms, turned 90 degrees, and began to walk off in that direction. "You see, when my father was killed by Frieza you saved my brother and I by 'banishing us from you sight.' In other words, you expelled us from your kingdom, our home."
"That said, my very presence here is already a challenge to your authority." Riddic spun around to face the Saiyan King. "Normally this would be cause enough for whatever punishment you have in mind but you and I know that I'm far too powerful for you to enforce such a ruling."
Riddic smiled. "King Vegeta, I mean you no harm nor do I wish to take your throne or anything of the sort. I just wish to ensure the survival of our race against the threat of the Plant Trade and prepare for what comes after. This decision to take these two under my supervision is also towards that goal. Please, for the sake of all Saiyans, don't make this any more complicated than it needs to be."
King Vegeta stood silent, fully taking in what Riddic said. "Do you promise that if this boy should ever become a threat, you will do what needs to be done?"
"You have my word."
King Vegeta stared into the silver-haired Saiyan's eyes for a few silent moments before letting out a small huff. He spun around, turning his head back to Riddic. "They're all yours." He said before strolling out of the room with his Royal Guard.
When he left, Riddic let out a short chuckle. "That went better than I expected." He turned to Planthorr, who was behind him on his right. "Inform me when these two are one hundred present healed. I have much to discuss with Paragus."
The small, elderly humanoid nodded. "You'll be the 1st to know."
Riddic gave the doctor his thanks then headed out of the medical chamber. There were still several matters he had to attend to before they were ready.
Meanwhile...
Roy and Daizu sat in the usual bar Roy and his crew hung out. Around them were the usual chatter and laughter of drunk and drinking Saiyans as well as the occasional former PTO trooper here and there. A good sign, given that they will soon all go to war together.
"So you and your crew went to some remote planet to train?" Daizu said, adding to the conversation he and Roy were having.
"Some planet named XO347 or something random like that." Roy answered. "It was a planet filled with massive creatures and man-eating vegetation. Basically everything wanted to kill you."
"I've heard of a planet like that. A while back a job came up for a similar planet but every team that was sent couldn't fully conquer it so they gave up on it. Are you telling me that the four of you did what no one else could?"
Roy waved his left hand back and forth by the side of his face. "Oh no, far from that. We only stayed till we were satisfied with our training, that place was a hell in its own right. You couldn't pay me enough to stay and try to domesticate it."
Roy let his hand down. "Also, it wasn't just the four of us that went. about two dozen other Saiyans came with us. These guys were supporters of Miasma, Riddic's deceased father, and wanted to help us."
Roy sat back in his chair. "Poor bastards didn't have a clue what we were heading into, none of us did. Most didn't make it through the 1st night let alone the 2 years we spent there."
"Sounds like you had quite the trip." Daizu said without remorse. Death was common in the business they now rebel against, no use trying to deny it.
"Yeah..." Roy rocked his chair up and down. "Well enough about me, tell me about you Daizu. How'd you get mixed up in all of this?"
Daizu let out an awkward laugh. "I think you know that story well enough."
"I meant how did you get tied up in the Planet Trade."
"Right..." Daizu looked down at his fists. "My story isn't too different from many others. Frieza and his brother Cooler decided to have a competition to see who can conquer the most planets within our 3 planet solar system. Frieza took my homeworld and the next door planet while Cooler took the distant 3rd and several large asteroids he'd later use for minerals."
"Technically, Frieza won their bet but Cooler argued that he won cause he conquered the asteroids that were big enough to be counted as planets. Furious, Frieza quickly conscripted all the able-bodied members of our race, spirited us away from our planet, and then blew it up as a stress reliever."
Daizu paused long enough for Roy to fit in a 'damn.' before the red-skinned humanoid continued. "From the very first day of our conscription, all of the members of my species 'fortunate enough' to survive the needless destruction of our planet deeply hated Frieza."
"Which was why you said what you said the other day when Riddic was trying to convince you guys." Roy added.
Daizu looked at the Saiyan and nodded. "I'm glad to fight with others that despise that murdering tyrant."
"You're one of us Daizu, at least in my book." Roy said as he raised his cup full of some red drink. Daizu did the same and, with a smile, the two tapped their cups.
"To the downfall of the Planet Trade."
A few hours later...
"So you're heading out?" Riddic spoke to a circular hand-held comm device he received from the Arcosian Blizzard. It had a bit more of a 'human' touch as it portrayed a miniature hologram of the one on the other end.
"I'm already in route." The elderly Blizzard spoke, his hologram showed his sitting. Most likely he was traveling in an Attack Pod or some type of shuttle. "Best estimates tell me one week. Though I wouldn't bet on this older model to be one hundred percent accurate."
"Why are you coming now?"
The holographic Blizzard smiled. "Do you think I wouldn't be there when we make the plans for war? We are striking at the heart of the organization. I won't have you Saiyans messing it up at this stage."
Riddic let out a short chuckle. "I see your point. King Vegeta will have a problem though."
"I'll deal with him when the time comes...Better yet, I would like to talk to him. Can you arrange that Riddic?"
"Now?" Riddic scratched the back of his head. "I'll see if I can, but he and I aren't exactly on the greatest of terms right now. You see I sort of blackmailed him into letting these two other Saiyans live."
Blizzard let out a short laugh. "Oh? Well you certainly have to tell me about that one when I arrive."
Riddic let out a few awkward laughs. "I'll be sure to do that. I'll contact you once I've work it out."
"I'll be waiting." And with that, the hologram disappeared.
Riddic placed the circular device in his pants pocket. He closed his eyes and sighed. "How I'm I gonna do this now?"
"Do what now?" A voice asked, originating from behind the silver-haired Saiyan.
Riddic turned around, behind him stood a female Saiyan with long black hair that stretched down to her knees, and the universal black eyes every Saiyan has.
She wore a hybrid of the PTO's Battle Armor: She had a shoulder guard on her right as seen in the newer models and a shoulder strap on her left like the models most Saiyans wear, below the belt she wore a long cloth that covered her right leg and part of her upper left, other than that, she wore the standard armored boots and arm gauntlets. The color scheme of her armor was black and purple.
"Uh...Who are you?" Riddic asked as he raised his right eyebrow.
"The name's Lea." She said as she placed her hands on her hips.
Lea began to look up and down Riddic's body, circling around him as she took in every detail. Riddic stood still, feeling a bit awkward over the ordeal. After a few moments, Lea backed up a few steps and placed her right hand on her chin while letting that arm rest on her left.
"You're not what I've expected...Are you sure you're a Super Saiyan?"
'So that's what this is about.' Riddic smiled. 'Another one curious about the legend.'
Riddic spread his legs out. "I'll show you."
He brought his arms up to his waist line. His hair waved back and forth as yellow light began to flash around him. Within moments, Riddic turned into a Super Saiyan. He noticed it was getting quicker and easier to turn with every transformation.
Lea's eyes widened. She circled around Riddic once, looking at him in his current state.
"Wow..." She said before she stopped in front of him. "It isn't what one would expect, that's for sure. Yet you can actually see you power flashing around you, even hear it! That's something I've never seen before, at least not without launching some special type of attack."
"Yeah, its kind of cool when u think of it." Riddic said with a smile, a moment after he transformed back into a normal Saiyan.
"So you can freely go back and forth between Super Saiyan and normal?"
"Yep, though it wasn't as easy at first. It used to take a lot of concentration but now I can almost do it in a heart beat."
"That's pretty interesting, makes you wonder what's really true about the legend and what is just exaggeration." Lea smiled. "Thanks you letting me see your Super Saiyan state."
She turned around and began to walk away. "I'll see you around, Mr. Super Saiyan." She said as she waved back to him.
Riddic waved back at her, their was something about that Saiyan that was...unique compared to others he meet before. Then again Riddic was gone for 6 years and she could be what is considered the average Saiyan woman nowadays.
A few minutes later...
Somehow, some WONDERFUL WAY HOW, Riddic managed to get an audience with King Vegeta.
Despite their earlier conversation, King Vegeta seemed to show no ill will towards Riddic or the Saiyan King was a very good actor. Now that he thought about it, King Vegeta had to be since he had to work under Frieza for so long. Especially considering how proud the man wa-
"Is there a reason you requested this audience with me besides wasting my time by showing me that you'd make a wonderful totem pole?"
'Ah, there it is.' Riddic though to himself. 'All that raw frustration that he's trying to release in a calmer way.'
Riddic cleared his throat before speaking. "There's someone I'd like you to meet, if you don't mind me approaching."
King Vegeta let out a small huff. "Well it's not like I can keep you away even if I said no."
'Yep, definitely still angry from earlier.' Riddic pulled out his circular comm device and approached the Saiyan King. Once he was next to the king, Riddic pressed a large button along the side of the outer ring. A moment later, a hologram of Blizzard manifested on the display screen.
"King Vegeta, I would like to introduce you to my friend and co-conspirator Blizzard."
The holographic Blizzard bowed his head in respect. "A pleasure your highness."
King Vegeta looked at Riddic. "Is this some sort of joke? I thought you were rallying us to fight the Arcosians not make friends with them!"
"Have you forgotten what I told you earlier? Blizzard helped me because he too has his reasons to fight the Planet Trade Organization."
"Still, this is a complete farce. The Saiyan masses believe that its Frieza and his fellow Arcosians who are to blame for all the suffering we have endured."
"Ah, but that is a rather inaccurate stereotype your majesty. While it's true that Frieza and his family our conquerors responsible for many misfortunes throughout the galaxy, many Arcosians are scientists who's only interest is to expand upon their knowledge and improve the current state of their technologies."
"I am but an elderly Arcosian whose nearing the end of his mortal life wishing to make up for a mistake I cause many, many decades ago. Helping this revolution is the start of that wish."
King Vegeta frowned. "How does helping the Saiyans achieve freedom help make up for whatever mistake you've claimed you made?"
"I believe you are missing the point."
"What we're aiming for isn't the liberation of a single race or a few dozen men." Riddic cut in. "What we're aiming for is a revolution that will shake the very foundation of the Planet Trade."
"Riddic and I agreed that we will do everything we can to make sure that this cycle of death, enslavement and suffering ends. We do this so that another race is never enslaved or destroyed by the likes of the Planet Trade or the Cold Family again."
King Vegeta grunted. "So in the end you're just using us."
"We are using each other. I settle all my debts while your people regain their freedom. In the end we both get what we want, assuming we can pull this off that is."
"Don't underestimate the Saiyan race."
"On the contrary, I'm placing a lot of faith on you Saiyans. You shall be the tip of the spear that will be used to strike at the heart of the organization."
King Vegeta gave the Arcosian a half-smile. "Well, so there is at least one of your race that gives us the respect we deserve."
"King of Saiyans, you'll find that I am much different that Frieza and his father. I value every soldier under my command and don't needlessly waste them." Blizzard's hologram rested his head on his left hand. "With me at the command, our victory is almost certain."
"Who said that you'd be commanding my army?"
Blizzard smiled. "Your majesty, haven't you ever heard of a little thing called 'faith'?"
King Vegeta let out a defiant huff. "Even if I did trust you with my army, the Saiyans won't take your orders."
"I wonder about that..." Blizzard's hologram smirked. "From what I understand, you Saiyans respect strength. Perhaps if I were to showcase what I am capable of they may have a change of heart. Unless you're referring to the fact that I'm an Arcosian, in which case we'll discuss other options once I arrive."
King Vegeta blinked a few times. "When you arrive? You're coming here?"
"In about a week's time, yes."
The Saiyan King looked at Riddic. "Did you know about this?"
"I just learned of it recently."
Vegeta leaned back in his chair, he sighed. "If our people find out you know what will happen right?"
"Well I can't speak for everyone, but the guys I told at the bar seemed to be alright with the fact that I teamed up with an Arcosian."
"Yes, but he is coming here! Right after you killed Frieza and declared our independence from the rest of them!"
"If I may interrupt." Blizzard spoke. "I have thought of a way to defuse the situation, but it will have to wait till I arrive. Do what you can to make sure word of my visit doesn't spread till after I arrive. Until then, I bid you good day."
The holographic Blizzard disappeared into the comm device, Riddic pull it away before looking to the Saiyan King.
"Do you think you can keep a lid on this?"
King Vegeta sighed as he slowly placed his right hand over his face. He began to massage the bone in-between his eyes.
"I'll see what I can do. Fortunately the only ones who know of this are those in this room." Vegeta moved his hand back to the arm of his throne. "My Royal Guard have kept quiet over worse events that happened in this room."
Riddic smirked. "I bet."
One week later...
Riddic stood on one of the various Attack Pod landing zones spread throughout Planet Vegeta. He was looking at the sky, awaiting his guest who would be arriving any moment now. After a few moments of sky watching, he found what he was looking for: A single burning streak of light across the sky. The sign of an approaching Attack Pod.
In a few moments, the pod landed on one of the safety cushions positioned around the platform. Riddic waited for the pod to settle before approaching it. As he walked towards it, the newly arrived pod began to open revealing a familiar shape.
The silver-haired Saiyan waited till his friend climbed out of the pod before speaking. "Welcome to Planet Vegeta."
Blizzard toward over the Saiyan's body by a full head, at least he wasn't as huge as he was when Riddic 1st seen him. The Arcosian looked down and smiled at Riddic.
"Thank you my friend, for troubling yourself to greet this old man."
A few minutes after his arrival, Blizzard requested if he can address the entire Saiyan race as well as everyone else on the planet. After a long debate with King Vegeta, the Arcosian convinced the Saiyan king on the grounds that everyone would soon know he was on the planet anyway.
So here stood the towering elderly Arcosian on the very same stage Riddic announced his plans one week ago and convinced many to join his- no, their cause. To his right stood his Saiyan friend Riddic, another Saiyan named Paragus and the red-skinned humanoid Daizu, the forward had an intense look on his face. No wonder, since this will determine if the Saiyans as a whole will pledge their help to the ultimate goal of this war already set in motion.
To Blizzard's left stood the Saiyan King and his young successor: Prince Vegeta. Behind the Prince stood the Commander-in Chief of the Saiyan army, a brute looking man named Nappa. He and the Prince had arrived just prior to Blizzard's arrival or so the Arcosian was told.
A few steps behind them stood members of the Saiyan Royal Guard, evenly positioned across the stage. Before them, a crowd of mostly Saiyans sat in anticipation, some whispered amongst themselves wondering why an Arcosian was here especially given recent events.
Blizzard looked at Riddic without turning his head, the latter looked back and gave him a quick half-smile. Whenever you're ready.
Blizzard smiled at his friend before returning his gaze at the crowd before him. He cleared his throat, a sign that he was ready to begin. Cameras positioned in the back of the room focused in on the large Arcosian, sending the image across the planet.
"Greetings Saiyans and all others who have allied with them in order to regain your freedom." The Arcosian placed his hand on his chest. "My name is Blizzard, and I must sincerely thank each and every one of you for doing what so many others have been too afraid to do."
Blizzard lowered his hand to his side. "For too long, this galaxy has been pledged with the evil of Frieza, his father Cold and their Planet Trade Organization."
The Arcosian held his right hand out to Riddic, in responce the cameras focused on the silver-haired Saiyan. "One week ago, Frieza's reign of terror was brought to an end by the hands of this Saiyan. A Super Saiyan named Riddic who I call friend."
Blizzard let his hand slip back to his side, signalling the men operating the cameras to turn back to the Arcosian. "Many of you already know this, which brings me to why I stand before you today. I am here to ask you, to ask each and every one of you if you will fight with me, fight with us, against the Planet Trade Organization and the power-hungry members of my race; the Arcosians."
Blizzard remained silent for a few moments, allowing all who were watching to fully take in his request.
"I'm going to be honest with you all. My reasons for helping the Super Saiyan were selfish at first. I would like nothing more than to get my revenge on King Cold, the true head of the Planet Trade. However, we have the opportunity to prevent anyone like Frieza from enslaving you or any other race again!"
Blizzard rose his fist up to his chest. "We can make a better galaxy free of tyranny and oppression! Where no one will be bound by the shackles of slavery! All I ask is that you fight with us, side by side as brothers and sisters in arms!"
Riddic looked at the Arcosian. 'That may be enough to get the support of the others, but most Saiyans couldn't care less about such things...'
Blizzard lowered his fist. "The road will be long and full of sacrifice, but you are Saiyans! A proud warrior race that lives for battle! Many of you may die but I'm sure that for every dead Saiyan there will be at least 10 dead enemy troops that dared fight against us!"
A slight roar of approval came from the crowd before him.
"Make that fifty!" One spirited Saiyan shouted.
Blizzard smiled. "Our enemies will cower at the mention of your very names! Together we will end an age, and go down in history as the greatest warriors that have ever lived!"
This got many of the Saiyans inspired, they started to cheer at the thought of it: Going down as the greatest warriors in history was a goal for any true Saiyan warrior.
The Arcosian waited for the crowd to settle before continuing, he placed his hand over his heart and closed his eyes.
"I swear on whatever life is left in this aging body, that our alliance will not end up like the 'agreement' you had with Frieza. You will receive the respect you all deserve," Blizzard opened his eyes. "And the glory you all desire!"
Blizzard threw his hand up high in that air. "To the ushering in of a new age!"
The crowd before him roared in approval, several jumped to their feet in excitement. Surprisingly King Vegeta and Commander Nappa clapped in response to Blizzard's speech. Whether the two Saiyans actually liked it or not was anyone's guess at the time.
"Nice job." Riddic said, approaching his Arcosian friend. "I think that convinced them enough to help us."
"Only time will tell." Blizzard smiled at Riddic. "If you excuse me, I need to discuss some issues with King Vegeta."
"Of course." Riddic said as his friend turned around and approached the Saiyan King.
Riddic smiled. "You're a lot more lively than I remember. Guess being brought back into the fold gets the blood going eh old man?"
Daizu walked up to Riddic, Paragus followed soon after. "So that's the Arcosian you were talking about." Daizu said. "He's a lot different from Frieza, that's for sure. He actually seems a bit...friendly."
"Yeah, after seeing Frieza its kind of strange to see an Arcosian like Blizzard."
"Just like its strange to find a kind-hearted Saiyan amongst the rest of us." Paragus added in.
Riddic let out a laugh. "Yep, it's just like that." The Saiyan looked back at Paragus. "Look at you, an hour ago you were cursing up a storm and now you're cracking jokes."
Paragus smiled. "Well I can't stay mad all the time, even though my son and I were almost killed by our beloved king."
"You don't need to worry about that anymore." Riddic placed his hand on Paragus's shoulder. "You and your son are under my protection now. I won't let anything happen to the two of you."
"As long as you honor our deal I couldn't care less what happens to me." Paragus smirked. "Besides dying of course."
Daizu leaned over to Riddic. "What did you promise him anyway?" The humanoid whispered.
Riddic eyed King Vegeta, the latter was in a discussion with Blizzard. Most likely about the coming invasion.
"A chance." Riddic said as he looked back at Daizu. "For now that's all you need to know my friend."
Some time later, aboard Frieza's spaceship...
King Vegeta and his son, Blizzard, Riddic, Roy, Bardock, Daizu, Nappa, and several other officers from the Saiyan Army gathered around a holographic table on the bridge of Frieza's spaceship. An image of New Arcose was portrayed before them. The planet had a mystic purple color to it with dark green marks throughout the atmosphere.
"The bulk of our forces shall arrive in this captured spaceship, which will also be the staging ground and command center for our invasion of New Arcose." Blizzard stated.
"We'll have several units arrive on the planet a few minutes before we land via Attack Pods. They'll be given individual landing zones and tasked with sabotage of critical systems such as communications while creating as much havoc as possible to divert as much of the enemy forces as possible."
"So a distraction and a way to prevent them for calling for reinforcements." Daizu simplified what the Arcosian just explained. "Very clever."
"Here will be our landing zone." Blizzard pointed at a the holographic planet, in response the image magnified showing in detail the surrounding landscape and towering buildings. A red blinking light marked the LZ: It was a park by the looks of it, a perfect clearing to land a ship.
"By the time we arrive, this ground will be taken by my loyalists already on the planet." Blizzard stated. "Some are survivors who served with me years ago, others are descendants of said survivors. All despise the current Plant Trade and will fight with us."
"How will we tell if they're with us or not?" Roy asked. "Don't want to accidentally fight our allies."
Blizzard nodded. "A valid question."
The Arcosian pressed a button on the table, doing so caused a new image to pop up: It was a three-headed serpent beast, a hydra, framed in a red and orange obtuse triangle.
"This image will be tattooed on my men, more specifically the upper left chest of their Battle Armor. That is how you will tell friend from foe so be sure to memorize this image. We'll have the men who joined us here have the same image on their armor so to differentiate them from the enemy."
Riddic pressed his hand over his chin. He heard of a beast that looks like this one when he was on Earth. "A hydra?" He asked. "How do you know of such a beast?"
Blizzard chuckled. "I have heard of many legends and myths when I was on my throne, especially of those from a blue planet called Earth."
Riddic raised his eyebrow, he lowered his hand and his face formed sly smile. "Oh? You never told me you knew about Earth."
"There is much you don't know about me, my Saiyan friend."
"Can we get back to the matter at hand?" Prince Vegeta said rudely. "The sooner this stupid meeting is over the sooner I can blast some weaklings. Now get on with it!"
Blizzard let out a short laugh. "Forgive me your highness." He looked at the Saiyan King. "You're son has quite the attitude."
"I apologize for his rudeness." King Vegeta said in a way that made it sound like he didn't truly mean it.
"Don't be," Blizzard closed his eyes. "I find it rather amusing."
The young Saiyan Prince frowned. "I can hear you fool."
Blizzard smiled, he opened his eyes. "Indeed, lets move on shall we?" Blizzard pressed a different button on the table, bringing up the previous image.
"Once we land, we'll divide our forces into several groups." Blizzard pointed at the park, then guided a path from it to the right with his hand. As he did a red line formed as he traced the path. "The 1st group will be comprised of a small band of Elite Saiyans, they'll flank along the right while picking up as many of the Attack Pod teams as possible. After they've gain enough strength their job is to intercept any enemy reinforcements heading from that way."
Blizzard traced another path with his finger, this time along the left. "The 2nd will be the majority of our allies currently present on Planet Vegeta. They'll carve a path through the left, wiping out all resistance along the way. This group is mostly a distraction to divert or enemy's attention."
Blizzard traced a third path, this time down the center. "The 3rd will comprise the bulk of our main force: the Saiyan Army. They'll plow through the center and toward the main objective." Blizzard pointed to a large spiral building, this building was immensely larger than those that surrounded it.
"This tower controls every system on New Arcose, we take it we take the planet."
Nappa balled one hand into a fist and punched his other hand. The big oaf smiled. "You just leave that to me. That tower will be ours before the day is through."
"That's the idea." Riddic added. "We need to capture that tower quickly, otherwise our enemies will rally and wipe us out."
"Are you forgetting you're a Super Saiyan, Riddic?" Roy said casually. "If things turn bad you'll just wipe them out."
"Maybe...but there is a chance King Cold is on the planet as well. Then there's the chance that some of the Arcosians are fighters who may try to attack us in defense of their home."
"We have countermeasures in case either situation happens." Blizzard cut in. "Continuing the briefing," The Arcosian pointed at the LZ again then moved his finger around in a circle. "We'll have a few units in reserve should things take a turn for the worst. These units will also protect the ship from any counterattacks the enemy may throw at us."
Blizzard looked up from the table. "You will all be assigned your units while en route to the planet. Any questions?"
Bardock raised his hand, Blizzard turned his head to the Saiyan and nodded for him to speak.
"Where will you be during all this?" He asked.
Blizzard turned back to the holographic table. "I'll be inside the ship, giving all of you tactical data, while updating you as the battle progresses." He turned back to Bardock. "And if King Cold or any other obstacle were to appear I'll be the 1st to know and deal with it accordingly."
Blizzard turned his head and looked at the others inside the ship's bridge. "Are there any other questions?"
Everyone in the room remained silent.
"Very well, you're dismissed." Blizzard said as his gaze returned to the holographic table.
The Saiyans along with Daizu began to move towards the exit.
"Riddic. Could you stay a moment longer?" Blizzard called to the silver-haired Saiyan without removing his gaze from the table
"Sure, what's up?" Riddic said as he backtracked to Blizzard's side.
The tall Arcosian remained silent for a few moments. "What are your thoughts on my plan?"
"Its a good plan, assuming we can get past any planetary defenses they may have."
Blizzard chuckled. "My men on the surface assured me they have no such thing." He frowned. "The fools...In all the long years I have been overthrown the Cold family has grown overconfident. That shall be their downfall."
"Maybe." Riddic placed his hand on his chin. "But even if we knock their communications other planets will notice the lack of and may send reinforcements."
"I already have that covered." Blizzard pressed a button on the table, a star map of all the known planets the Planet Trade Organization popped up. The Arcosian walked around the table.
"Across Frieza's territory I have told my loyalists to spread themselves amongst the planets that are most likely to send a significant number of reinforcements." Blizzard held up his handheld communication device. "All I need to do is give the word and chaos shall spread throughout the Planet Trade."
Riddic smirked. "So you're going to take it that far this soon."
"I have no need to hold back at this point." Blizzard put his comm device away.
"This is my revenge against Cold," Blizzard spread his arms across the table. "And it shall be glorious."
This took me awhile to get motivated to finish, plus I've been having a few life issues recently. Anyway its done.
So a bit of plot development and the introduction of a new character Lea.
And here we go.
What is the deal that Riddic made with Paragus? How will this affect the rebellion?
The invasion of New Arcose begins next time! On Dragon Ball Double S!
