A/n: Hello stranger, reader, friend,

So I was re-watching Grey's Anatomy and I thought of giving this a twist. So I took my favorite character of the series:

Addison Montgomery and I included an original character. (This was an assignment once so I thought this would be fun to write). This story is about romance, drama, hurt and all things Grey we love!

Mostly Addison x OC/ other characters included.

Please review and give me credit if you want to link to my story.

The more reviews, the more chapters I will upload.

Chapter 1: God's right hand

Lorraine entered Joe's and made her way to the bar where a woman, slightly older than her, was enjoying her drink.

As elegantly as she could with her knee high skirt and heels she took a seat at the corner of the bar.

'Another Martini please Joe.'

When Adisson ordered the stranger glanced at her questionably.

'Little too early to drink isn't it?'

Addison, surprised by the remark thrown at her, watched the other woman before glancing at the clock which pointed at 11.00am. She was in fact true, Addison didn't drink that often but she couldn't care less, not today. The redhead chose silence.

'Ah I see, marriage problems.' The blond haired woman continued, taking a sip of her water.

'Who says I have marriage problems?'

Addison went into defense. Who was she anyway? Telling her what she could do or not do?

The younger woman turned towards Addison, her blue eyes almost piercing through Addie's. It almost felt as if she was about to dissolve in her gaze.

'Your ring is gone but the skin is almost pale, which gives away you just recently removed it. It is only 11 o'clock and you're already drinking a martini, which screams for help. And to top that; no beautiful women, like you, go alone to a bar unless they want to forget a terrible one night stand or to get over a heartbreak'

Addison's lips parted as she digested the woman's observation, moving her hands under the bar awkwardly and almost blushed at hearing the compliment.

It had been a long time since anyone gave her a compliment without the expectation of getting her into bed.

'That's where you are wrong, I am meeting with someone else.'

'And that's what every woman would say in their defense.'

Both laughed at the foolishness of the conversation.

'Lorraine.' She held her hand to the surgeon, who gladly accepted it.

'I'm Addison.'

'Nice to meet you.'

'Nice to meet you as well. Since you already know why I am here, what brings you to Joe's bar?'

' I'm here temporarily for work, not exactly the type of subject one wants to discuss.'

Addison smiled at her.

'Maybe… men can be jerks don't you think?' Addison blurted out while swirling her 3rd martini with her glass and gulping the fluids down her throat.

'I don't know. I am single.'

Both locked eyes and Addison pointed her finger towards her.

'That's what I am too!'

Her words are a bit louder than intended. The alcohol was clearly kicking in right now.

'You? Hard to imagine people not standing in line for you.'

'Awwww that's so sweet.' Addison placed her hand upon Lorraine's.

'You know, men are always trouble. One day you're married for 10 years, the next you're divorced. I am thinking of turning gay, you know. Less drama and all.'

Lorraine sipped from her water she ordered earlier. 'I am not sure about that.'

'I have sworn off men. I am staying single for the rest of my life. Drinking martinis as much as I want and when I want.'

Addison held her glass to Joe for a refill.

'I think you had enough Addison. I will call you a cab.'

'What no! No, I am fine, I can drive!'

Addison took her purse, searching her car keys but quickly came to realize that she didn't have them with her.

Joe and Lorraine watched in silence.

'I am calling a cab.' Joe reached for the phone.

'No, I will walk. It's fine.' Addison hated cabs, they're smelly and the drivers always talk. She couldn't have that, not now.

'You're going to walk to the Archfield?' Joe couldn't believe the stubbornness of Addison.

'The Archfield Hotel? You're staying there?' Lorraine asked curiously.

Addison nodded as she got up from her stool. 'Yup since no one wants me. Girl has gotta live doesn't she.'

Addison's tone was almost amusing to Lorraine.

'I'll walk with you, I am staying there as well.'

Lorraine paid for both drinks and followed Addison's lead.

The fresh air did both of them good and the 15 min walk wasn't the end of the world.

Although they mostly walked in silence, both seemed to enjoy each other's presence.

Addison was glad she didn't have to spend this time alone.

That's what she really felt inside, loneliness.

Although she knew her marriage was over and Derek chose Meredith over her, she couldn't help but feel that she might never find someone who genuinely would care about her.

Sunken into thoughts they arrived at the hotel.

Both checked in and got their keys.

The 'ding' of the elevator made both pairs of eyes watch the light turn yellow on the ground floor.

As they got in Lorraine couldn't help but take in Addison's body. She was a very intellectual being, dressed sexy. Her flaming red hair with a pair of green eyes most certainly drew attention.

Addison in return watched Lorraine in the corner of her eye. Her long blond hair draped over her shoulders, a welcoming smile that makes everybody's heart leap, and a soft calming voice who knew just what to say.

'For what it's worth, your ex is never gonna find the woman he had with you.'

'I am sure we disagree about that. I like to think he doesn't know better.'

'I know better.'

Both eyes met, a strange feeling suddenly overcame both women.

They somewhat awkwardly stood next to each other.

'Addison..' the elevator 'ding' was heard once more.

'.. this is me.' Lorraine walked out of the elevator, holding her hand against the door. 'You will find someone who loves you for you. Maybe they're even closer than you think.'

With that Lorraine winked at her and turned to leave.

Addison watched the doors close.

Did she just flirt with me?

When the elevator reached Addison's floor, she took out her phone and started texting to Callie:

You would not believe what just happened to me.

GAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGAGA

The next day at Seattle Grace Hospital.

'Survived the hangover I see? Didn't expect you here.' Lorraine said as Addison looked up at her, giving her a welcoming smile.

'Morning. Yeah, I hope I didn't say something awkward.' Realizing she might get a little loose headed when she drinks.

'And if you did, your secret is safe with me.'

Both laughed and Addison couldn't help but feel herself growing warm in her stomach.

The blond haired woman glanced over at the chief's office and laughed a bit.

'Is he always like that?'

Addison knew she was referring to his nervous behavior, pacing around in his office, re-arranging things on his desk.

She smiled at seeing dr. Webber like this.

'Only when he is about to meet some fancy surgeon who thinks they can change the future of the hospital.'

'Is that so?' Lorraine leaned against the railing of the bridge. This was about to get interesting.

Addison nodded as she proceeded.

'He told me he was meeting with a surgeon from NY, who invented some robot which could improve surgical procedures on the nerves system.'

Both of them watched as dr. Webber left his office, fixing his tie on the way out.

'Some surgeons think they are the right hand of God.' Addison continued before greeting the chief by waving her hand as a friendly greeting.

Dr. Webber came over to the two women, nodding friendly to the redhead. 'Adisson.' Who returned the favour.

He then turned his eye to Lorraine.

'Dr. Kelaghan, how was your flight from NY?' Shaking eachothers hands.

'Not a big fan of flying but I made it.'

That moment Addison felt her cheeks turn red. She did not just do that.

'Please, this way…' Webber said as he guided Lorraine to his office.

Dr. Kelaghan turned towards dr. Montgomery with an amusing smirk on her face. 'I will say Hi to God.' With that she left Addison standing there.

Her green eyes watching as defeat crept onto her shoulders.

Not able to avoid her gaze, she could see Dr. Webber and dr. Kelaghan entered his office and took a seat.

Her pager went off and was taken back to reality by the sound and buzzing.

Without hesitation she read the number of the room and went off to see the patient.

A while later Addison found herself at the nurses station, updating the chart of her patient.

'Could you get the labs of mrs. Gavin?'

Dr. Torres handed the chart to one of the nurses, noticing her friend, as she came to lean her back against the nurses desk.

'So I heard she is our visitor, all the way from NY.'

Addison watched as Callie noticed the chief and dr. Kelaghan walked in the hallway, busy talking with each other, as they halted at a bulletin board.

Addison rolled her eyes and smirked, putting the chart back on the file cart.

'Tell me about it. I practically scolded her.'

Callie gave her a confused look.

'You, what.?' This wasn't like Addison at all.

'Well not scolded her but basically told her she felt better than humanity.'

'Oh autch .' Callie faked a painful grimace.

'Plus, you know I told you someone was flirting with me?' Callie nodded. 'It's her.'

'Double autch!'

'Stop saying autch! You're not making me feel any better.' Addison swatted Callie on the arm.

'Can I have your attention please?' Dr. Webber announced while everyone present formed a group at the nurses station.

Addison and Calliope assembled with the others. The orthopedic surgeon, holding her hands in her pockets and continuing with a lower voice.

'Don't worry, she might feel upset for a little while but the distance between NY and Seattle is huge. You'll probably never see her again after today.'

Dr. Webber's speech was short and both friends only heard half of it, only paying attention to their own conversation.

'So I am pleased to inform you that Dr. Kelaghan will be joining our team and officially starts tomorrow.'

Both Callie and Addison silently gasped in surprise. This was not happening!

'It was nice knowing you.' Callie held her hand out to Addison in order to shake hers but her redhaired friend was frozen.

The group applauded as Derek and Preston introduced themselves.

Dr. Webber then noticed the neonatal and ortho surgeon and guided their new team-member towards them.

' Lorraine, I would like to introduce you to Calliope Torres, our orthopedic surgeon.' Both shook hands and greeted each other.

'And this is Addison Montgomery, she specializes in neo- natal surgery.'

Before Addison could apologize for her behavior earlier Lorraine spoke.

'Yes, I believe we met at Joe's yesterday.' Addison awkwardly shook Lorraine's hand, Silently thankful that Lorraine didn't make a scene of her fiasco earlier.

'We did.'

'May I add that Dr. Montgomery is the best in her field.'

God, not now. She thought.

'Richard..' she nervously tucked her hair behind her ear, wishing she could hide in a closet till this day was over.

'I was once told that the very best are the right hands of God.'

Lorraine smirked at her own comment as Addison nervously smiled at her. She knew she had Addison right where she wanted.

Dr. Webber laughed at the comment. 'That might be true.'

'There's lots more to see so if you would please follow me dr. Kelaghan.'

'Guess I'll see you around.' Lorraine said her goodbyes and followed Richard, introduction day was always the one she hated when she started somewhere else.

Addison somewhat nodded, deciding it was best to remain silent.

'Bye.' Callie said, holding her hand up in her pocket.

Both turned towards the desk of the nurses station, Addison burying her head in her arms, feeling Callie's hand patting her on the shoulder. 'I'm gonna have to move.'

'You'll live.' Callie said amusingly.

'Moving whereto?' Derek asked as his eyes roamed over de charts and took the one he searched for.

'Addison scolded our new colleague.' Addison watched her friend, she could not believe Callie gave her away to her ex-husband.

'You scolded her? That's not very nice of you Addison.' Derek sounded surprised while opening the chart. Addison just wasn't the type.

'God, I did not scold her, can we just let it go already?'

'Making friends is hard for you is it? You should apologize.' Derek said amusingly, as if trying to pester her with her incapabilities, walking towards his patient's room.

'I will, I was planning to.' Addison glanced at the clock, only ten. How she wished this day was over.

A/N: Okay so far for chapter one's first part. I am not giving away too much in this chapter since this ought to be a long story. How do you like the OC so far? I am planning to get every character appear in the story and I will try my very best to get future procedures as detailed as possible.
