Author's notes: Heyo! I'm still a bit of a noob when it comes to writing so hopefully you guys could bear with it if you see any errors and stuff. Sorry in advance, but I try my best! I actually have other story ideas (listed on my profile) I'm gonna work on, so depending on the reception this story gets, I'll move it high or low in my priority list. A LOT of people are expecting me to update another story of mine too, so there's that.
For those who recognize my username... Don't worry. Jaune's Video Diary is gonna be updated next.
Hope you peeps enjoy my very second attempt at making a story! But please do leave your constructive criticisms, anything that could help me improve at all. I would appreciate that a lot.
Somewhere in Atlas...
"Father? Are you sure you are okay with all of this?"
"Why of course, my dear. Why wouldn't I be? Anything for your freedom."
Penny Polendina, a robot girl with orange curly hair, was helping her father and creator, Pietro, pack their things in the room. They were getting ready to move out.
"Hmm..." The elderly man was seated on his mechanical chair with four moveable legs used to aid his movement, scanning the fairly large room for things he may have forgotten to bring. "Seems about right. Deary? You have everything you need?"
"Yes, father! I made sure everything I need is in this suitcase." She was a bit giddy, presenting the huge luggage before her father proudly.
"Clothes?"
"Check."
"Spare parts? Batteries? Rocket fuel?"
"Check, check and check!"
"How about weapons and dust?"
"Check! I am combat ready for any unexpected altercations that may arise!" She gave a cheerful salute with radiating confidence to her father as if he was an officer of higher rank.
The man chuckled and gave her a warm hug, topping it off with a soft loving kiss on her forehead. "That's my girl."
She simply responded with a hug right back at him and a smile on her face. "Love you, father!"
"Love you too, sweet pea. Now let's go. The sooner we leave, the sooner you get to be with your friends again over at the Kingdom of Vale." He said, with a wink.
"Hurray! Beacon Academy, here we come!"
As soon as they were about to head to the door, a few knocks came from it.
The two gave brief looks towards each other. Afterwards, Penny slowly opened the door. She was already preparing to draw her weapon, blades already popping out of her backpack.
"Hello, Doctor... Miss Polendina... I am here to personally escort you in your travels." A tall and fair-skinned young woman with white hair, wearing a white military coat, was standing before them. She stood straight with her hands behind her back. "Orders from the general."
"Ah! Miss Schnee! What... a pleasant surprise." He gave a quick sigh of relief. "You gave us quite a scare. I wasn't expecting any visitors before we left."
Penny instantly withdrew her weapon and gave the woman a salute. "Salutations, Miss Schnee."
Pietro chuckled again.
Winter simply smiled and took hold of Penny's arm, lowering it. "No need for such formalities, Miss Polendina. You are not part of the Atlas military, nor am I your superior anymore."
"Yes, ma'am." She nodded. "It was a pleasure working with you."
"Likewise. You have served Atlas well. You and your father deserve this, especially after what's happened..." She turned away, feeling a bit worried about them both. "I-I'm sorr-"
"Now now, Miss Schnee. Anything that happened in the Amity Colosseum wasn't your fault, nor the general's. It was just a sequence of unfortunate events. She may have suffered from a dismemberment problem but..." Pietro's brown eyes turned to her daughter. "Nothin' science and a little bit of my aura can't fix. Heh... I'm just glad everything turned out okay in the end."
Just after saying that, he gave a few light coughs.
And after clearing his throat... "Oh, Excuse me."
"But Doctor... your health..."
"I'm fine, I'm fine. I'll recover like I always do as long as I don't keep pushing myself too hard." He began pressing buttons on his chair, heading out of the room. "Now let's get a move on."
The woman gave a sigh and proceeded to escort them.
Moments later, they were riding an airship. Winter served as their pilot while the two passengers sat comfortably at the back.
Penny couldn't help but notice her father seemingly working on something on the holographic screen coming from his mechanical chair. There was an image of a scroll and a peculiar looking ring beside it. "Hm? What's that?"
"Oh, this? Just workin' on my latest project. Just a little somethin' to keep us financially afloat for the rest of our time in Beacon. Though we have plenty of funds from working for the Kingdom of Atlas, it's better to have some sort back up plan for long term." His hand reached for her shoulder and pulled her gently closer. "It's also a gift from me to you in a sense."
Her eyes lit up in excitement. "Aw~ Thank you! What does it do though?"
"Before I do, do ya happen to be interested in boys by any chance?~" The man attempted to tease her.
Rather than getting embarrassed from bringing up the topic, she reacted the exact opposite. Penny brought her arms close to her chest, with closed fists, and began bouncing up and down. She was really giddy about it. "Oh, yes! I am! Is it going to help me get a boyfriend?!"
He was taken aback but eventually laughed it off. "Wasn't expecting that at all, but yes. It will. You have told me before that you've been having trouble getting yourself friends of the male gender."
"Yes, father. I have." She began recalling past events. "I don't interact much with other boys when I was still under General Ironwood's command. And even given the chance, I always make things awkward somehow."
The man placed a hand on her head and gently pulled her close for a hug.
She returned the hug and closed her eyes. She smiled regardless of the sad fact.
"There there, girl. This device will help you, no doubt." The man pulled out a ring from his pocket. It was the one Penny saw on her father's screen. "Wear this for a quick second, sweet pea."
She nodded and did what she was told.
"Let me just set this up for a sec." He took out a scroll, a collapsible holographic tablet, from his pocket and opened an app. It began to display the people Penny had met or seen. "Hm... Seems like you already seem to like someone~ Who is this blonde fellow? Is he in Atlas or in Beacon?"
"Oh, he's a student of Beacon Academy." Not getting embarrassed at all from his teasing tone, she answered. "I think I first saw him during the dance that was held back then."
"Tell me all about it. Maybe I can help you out by doing a little bit of research on him. See what we can find."
A week later in team RWBY's dorm room...
Ruby Rose, the team's leader under the red hood, was on the top bunk of her bed looking through her pics on her scroll. Pictures specifically having a certain tall, scraggly blonde in them. First picture was a normal looking group photo of team RWBY and Team JNPR at the cafeteria table where they usually hangout during lunch. The next pic was Ruby pulling Jaune away from her blonde older half-sister, Yang Xiao Long, who had him in a headlock while pressing her knuckle on his head. The last pic was a selfie taken by Ruby with him on it, both giving peace signs and a toothy grin at the camera.
She then sat up, checking to see what her teammates were doing. Blake, their reserved cat faunus friend, was reading what seems to be a familiar-looking book. Ruby didn't pay much thought of it. Her eyes turned to the white themed heiress, Weiss, who was sitting on a stool by the desk reading a text book while jotting down notes. Yang on the other hand was just on her own top bunk bed across Ruby's, playing a game on her scroll.
"Hey... Sis?"
"Sup, Rubes?"
"What's it like to have... like... a crush on someone?"
Blake's amber eyes briefly turned to Ruby's direction before turning back to her reading material.
"You have a crush on someone?!" Yang's eyes lit up in excitement. She instantly got off her bed and jumped onto Ruby's. "Tell big sis aaaaall about it~"
"So you're finally at that age. I hope you didn't choose the wrong guy." Weiss kept writing down notes, while constantly looking at her scroll and textbook.
"I didn't say I have a crush!" Ruby was quick to move her scroll away from her sister's view.
Noticing this, Yang instantly went for it, going so far as to wrap her arms around Ruby just to get to the scroll. "I know you have somethin' on there! Gimme!"
"Nooooo! Get off me!" She leaned back and planted both her feet on her blonde sister, one on her face and one on her belly, trying to push her away. "Could you please just answer the question?!"
"You have the urge to hangout with the person you're crushing on. You want them to give you attention and possibly have a closer relationship with them." Blake answered, earning the brief looks from her teammates.
"Huh... Yeah, I should've expected something like that as an answe-"
The moment Ruby let her guard down, Yang threw herself at her sister and successfully took her scroll, instantly getting off the bunk bed away from her. "Got it!"
"Give it back!" She was able to catch up to her and tackled the blonde onto Blake's bed. The bed itself began to shake. Blake and Yang's beds were unstably placed on top of each other, only being held up by the faunus girl's books in between.
"Careful!" Blake raised her voice at the two and made them instantly froze.
Thankfully, the beds stopped moving.
They all gave a sigh of relief.
Yang however, now had the time to look at Ruby's scroll and see who was on there. It shouldn't be a surprise, but after seeing the blonde guy, she briefly paused. "O-Oh..."
...
"Uh... I mean ooooh~ So~ About time you actually fell for our resident lady killer~ I'm just surprised you're just starting to have a crush on him recently~" She simply tossed the scroll back to its owner.
Ruby caught it and began swiping the pics away. "What was that just now?"
"What was what now?"
"Don't pretend I didn't notice, Yang. What's with that weird... sad face thingy you just made?"
"I..." She turned away and crossed her arms. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"She likes Jaune too, Ruby."
"..."
Everyone stared at Blake for her remark.
"W-What? How do you kno-?"
"Read about it here on Yang's diary." Blake interrupted the girl in red before she could even finish her sentence, waving the diary briefly to them. "She read mine without permission, that's why I have this."
"Blake!" Yang was actually blushing.
Kind of a rare sight to see which made the faunus girl chuckle. "How does it feel getting a taste of your own medicine?"
Weiss was in her own thoughts, eyes downcast, before turning back to her studying. "I didn't know you were one to record events as they happen."
The rest ignored the smarty-pants' remark.
"So that's why it looked so familiar... Thanks for telling, Blake. Sometimes you're more of a sister to me than Yang is-" Suddenly, Ruby's eyes widened and turned to her older sister. "Hey wait a minute! You like him? Since when?! I thought you were turned off by him."
"Y-Yeah, I was. H-he's not all bad though. You get used to guys like him." She had a nervous grin, avoiding eye contact.
Ruby crossed her arms, glaring. "Let me guess. I have to compete with you now."
"Look. I'll try not to get in the way." Yang confidently placed a hand on her hip with a coy smile on her face. "But~ It's not my fault if he himself turns to me for attention~"
"I hate you..."
"You also have Pyrrha to worry about. Poor girl has been crushing on the dense guy ever since, well... probably when they first met." Blake pitched in again before continuing her reading.
"Ugh... Right. Her too..." Ruby sat down on Weiss' bed, placed both elbows on top of her knees and placed her chin on the palm of both hands. A worried expression was etched on her. "Would she... Do you think Pyrrha would start to hate me if she knew I like Jaune?"
"Pffft... Nah." Yang sat next to her and wrapped an arm around the girl's shoulder "I don't think she's the type. Better tell her about it though, just to be safe. The sooner, the better."
"Maybe you're right... After lunch I guess? Assuming she's not busy."
"Speaking of lunch, let's eat! I'm gettin' hungry."
Just after saying that, Ruby's tummy rumbled loudly. She quickly placed both hands on her belly as if trying to shut it up. "Yeah, sounds like a plan."
"Sure." Blake handed Yang her diary back.
Weiss simply stood up and followed the rest of them out of the room.
In the school Cafeteria...
Ruby was in the lead while her teammates were following right behind her, each having their own tray of food. She saw a glimpse of their neighboring team, JNPR, at their usual table. She took a moment to free up one of her hands and waved at them ecstatically.
Nora Valkyrie, the team's bubbly and hyperactive member, was the first to notice and waved back with the same if not more energy.
Beside her was her stoic partner, Lie Ren, who simply raised a hand to them.
Then there was Pyrrha Nikos, the team's red-head and most skilled combatant of the team. She simply gave the incoming group a warm smile.
Team RWBY took their seats opposite of team JNPR's.
"Hey, you guys!" Ruby instantly noticed the absence of team JNPR's team leader. "Where's Jaune?"
"He's at Professor Glynda's office, trying to apply as a working student. He'll be here shortly." Pyrrha answered, taking her scroll out to check if she had any new messages from him. "Well, at least that's what he says here. He's on his way."
"Hey, Pyr. Mm..." Yang, who was already digging in, swallowed the turkey meat in her mouth. "Rubes over here has somethin' to say to ya."
"The same thing goes for you too." Ruby poked her somewhat hard on her waist.
She almost dropped her turkey leg. Thankfully, she caught before it landed on the table. "Ow! Hey! Not when I'm eating!"
"Oh? What is it?" Pyrrha asked.
"You free later after lunch? Yang and I have... something to talk to you about."
Blake and Weiss remained silent but they did give them brief looks before going back to eating their food.
"Of course. I'm not doing anything later." She gave a nod before taking a quick look at the time on her scroll. "I'll just text him real quick. His food is getting cold."
The two sisters turned to the tray beside Pyrrha's. It had a plate of dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets and a small carton of milk.
"Jaune might take a while though." She added.
Just then, Ruby felt a couple of taps on her shoulder. "Hm?" She turned to look around. The sight froze her in place, wide-eyed.
The rest of the gang did as well, especially Pyrrha.
"SALUTATIONS, friends!"
Standing before them was none other than Penny Polendina, the robot girl herself.
She had a wide and cheerful grin on her face as she instantly hugged Ruby so tight. "Oh how I have missed you, Ruby!"
There was a slight tear on Ruby's eye, but with her being lovingly squeezed, she couldn't really speak. "I-I... Ack!"
"Whoops!" She let go. "Sorry, I really should learn how to hug people more gently."
"I saw you- You were... P-Penny..." Ruby couldn't even find the words to say so she just wrapped her arms tightly around the girl. Tears starting to flow out. "I'm so happy you're okay."
"And I am happy as well for you and your friends' well being." Penny turned to look at each of the gang and waved at them while still being hugged by Ruby. Her eyes were on Pyrrha, lastly, giving her a worried look. It was evident to her that she was holding back her tears.
Pyrrha's lips quivered, hesitating to talk, but she pulled through. "I'm... so sorr-"
"Water under the bridge, as they say!" Penny took hold of Ruby by under her shoulders, lifted her up and placed her back on her seat, and then proceeded to approach Pyrrha. She gave a big and tight hug. "It was not your fault. All is forgiven!"
Now Pyrrha struggled but managed to speak. "T-Thank you..." She tried to hug her back, thinking it might be a bit rude to tell her to stop, despite feeling a tad bit crushed in her embrace. But ultimately, she regained back her signature smile.
"Careful, Pen. I think Pyrrha can't breathe." Yang instantly tried to change the mood.
"Whoops! Sorry. Did it again." She let go and stood behind Ruby again. "And guess what! I am now enrolled and an official student of Beacon Academy."
She stood proudly before them giving a quick salute!
Just then, they were just noticing that Penny was wearing a red plaid skirt, thigh high stockings, a jacket with a tan vest and a white shirt, topping it off with a red ribbon tied at the collar.
"Uniform looks good on ya!" Nora gave her double thumbs up of approval.
"Welcome to our academy, Penny." Weiss said.
And Blake simply nodded in agreement.
"But... how about the general? And... your dad?" Ruby was still a bit concerned.
"Like I told you at the tournament. I have a plan and it was a success! My father was the one who convinced the general to set me free." Penny gave a nervous chuckle. "Though getting cut into pieces wasn't part of the plan, it worked in our favor! All's well that ends well."
"Well... As long as you're not getting into trouble." Ruby scooted over and gestured her to sit next to her.
"I am not." Penny happily obliged. She then turned to the three on the other side of the table. "Oh, you must be... Team Juniper?"
"Oh, where are our manners." Pyrrha chuckled before introducing herself. "My name is Pyrrha Nikos. Although, I believe... we have already met." She was still a bit nervous towards her from what had transpired in the tournament.
"I'm Nora!" She stood up with both hands against the table as she leaned forward, giving her best radiant, yet crazy-looking smile.
"Ren." He simply said, raising his hand as if he was being called for class attendance. His expression was blank as always. Also, he took hold of Nora by her arm. "Sit, Nora. Your skirt is getting on you food."
"Yeah, Ren here doesn't talk much." She said, as she sat back down, taking notice of her skirt. "Aw... I got syrup on it..."
"Nice to meet you all! Although..." Penny also notices the tray of food beside Pyrrha's but without someone behind it. "You seem to be missing a member."
"Oh, Jaune's a bit busy. You'll get to meet him soon enough."
"Speaking of the guy." Nora turned to the blonde guy just entering through the cafeteria door making his way to the table. He looked a bit mopey.
Ruby turned to look at him for a brief moment but instantly turned away and blushed the moment their eyes made contact. This made Yang chuckle while Pyrrha gave her a confused look.
"Hey, I'm back." As he got to them and took his seat beside Pyrrha, he tried to force out a smile. "H-Hey, guys. And... Woah..." He instantly recognized the new girl at their table. "H-Hi... You're Penny, right? Ruby's friend?"
"..." No answer. Penny was just staring at him a brief moment.
The silence made the atmosphere a bit awkward.
Jaune felt the need to break the silence so he asked. "Uh... You oka-?"
"Indeed, I am Penny!" She waved at him. "And you must be Jaune. The one who got viral online because of what you did during the dance back then. It's nice to finally meet you all! Formally!"
"Well... Let's not bring that up. Nice to meet you too." Trying to change the topic, he took a fork and was about to eat one of his chicken nuggets. "Oh! Thanks for getting me lunch, Pyr. My favorite too!"
Remembering the scene in their head, Ruby and Yang giggled and gave the blonde a thumbs up.
Jaune sighed in embarrassment.
"You're welcome." Pyrrha only began eating once he was at the table. "So. How did it go?"
"Huh? Oh! Uh... You mean the... thing. Yeah." He took a bite off of his nugget. "Mmm... It didn't work out. "Ms. Goodwitch said I needed a way better academic standing for me to be even allowed to be a working student."
"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that."
Weiss turned to him for a brief moment. "You really should focus more on your studies instead of playing video games with these two dolts in your free time." She pointed at the step-sisters in team RWBY. "Why are you even looking for a job in campus?"
"Yeah, I don't think being a literal teacher's pet is... your style." Yang added.
"I need the money to keep myself financially afloat. Tuition's expensive and I'm not exactly qualified for scholarship either."
"Or I could just cover for your expenses to save you the trouble." She calmly said while taking another bite off of her meal.
"I appreciate the offer but..." Jaune sighed. "Pyrrha, It's not like I don't want your help. I kinda prefer earning stuff on my own and not just getting handed stuff for free. At this point, you've given me more than I actually deserve."
"If it bothers you that much, then I won't mind it if you just borrowed my lien for the time being. You can always take your time paying me back once we graduate and become full-fledged huntsman."
"Knowing you, you'd probably just purposefully forget I'm in your debt."
"Pardon me for interrupting but..." Everyone turned to Penny as she spoke to blonde. "Are you really looking for a job?!" She suddenly got all giddy, and instantly took off from her seat just to stand next to him.
He got a bit flabbergasted. "I-I... Uh... Yes?"
"This is perfect! I would like to ask if you would like to work for my father. We've been on a look out for someone who could help with a little social experiment." Her nose was a couple of inches away from his with how close their faces were.
"A-A bit too close there." In response, Jaune kept inching away, leaning against Pyrrha in result. He briefly turned to his partner to say, "Sorry."
With a faint blush on her, she simply replied. "I don't mind."
Jaune placed both his hands on the robot girl's shoulder to gently free up some space between them. "I'm interested. So... Uh... what's the job?"
"We're looking for a test subject for our social experiment." Penny then took out a silver plated ring with an oval shaped glass ornament on it. She wore it on her ring finger of her right hand and then opened an app on her scroll. "My father made a device that scans a person's aura and tap into their level of interest, specifically towards people they are attracted to."
After setting it up, she handed the scroll to Jaune. The interface had Penny's name on the upper right corner with a list of her friends under it. There were chibi drawings of faces with names underneath on the left side of the screen, a bar for each in the middle, as well as a colored hearts at the far right end.
"It's still in its development stages. We are looking for someone to test this on."
"Wait... So you basically want me as a guinea pig... lab rat... thing for this experiment?"
"More like a beta tester. There's a big difference."
"O-Okay? That's not so bad if you put it that way. So how does it work?"
"It's quite simple, really. You get access to the ring wearer's level of attraction." She lifted her hand to present it to him. Then she started pointing at certain icons on the interface. "For example. The faces on here are the wearer's simplified depiction of the people they feel an attraction towards. And these bars in the middle... Each time they fill up to 100%, or decline to 0%... the hearts on the far right will change color."
"Okay, that sounds simple so far. So these hearts... What do they mean?"
"They are tiers represented by color. From highest to lowest, the colors are: Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet. Violet level means there is no attraction at all while red represents the state of being madly in love."
Looking at the screen again, Jaune noticed that the color indicated on his heart icon. "What does Green mean then?"
"Oh that. It means the wearer has a crush."
"Wait. You mean... Uh... Well..." Jaune's face started to turn red, avoiding eye contact.
The rest of them were confused. They can't actually see what the blonde was seeing.
Penny was confused by his reaction and decided to take a look at her own scroll, casually taking it from Jaune's hands. "Ah. Alright. I see. You're wondering why you have a Green heart on here."
He just gave a shy nod.
Revealing that information, most of them leaned in closer. Ruby, Yang, Pyrrha and even Weiss specifically. They feared the worst.
"Just as you're probably thinking, yes. I do find you cute and attractive. It would make sense why it has that color." Penny said all that nonchalantly.
The gang however had mixed emotions.
Pyrrha was shocked but remained silent. Same goes for Ruby and Yang.
"Of course..." Weiss said to herself and face palmed.
Ren and Blake were the ones who seemed the least interested in the unfolding scene.
"..." He didn't really know what to say in response and decided to go with the first thing that came to mind. "Thanks! Uh... I'm... flattered?"
Jaune turned to his friends for a brief moment. They could tell just by looking at him that he was asking for help.
Only a couple of them made responses. Ruby simply shrugged at him while her sister, Yang, was chuckling and giving the blonde a thumbs up.
He was not amused and turned back to Penny, still blushing. "So... You probably want me to wear that ring to test it out. Can I ask how much do I get as compensation?"
"A thousand lien." She simply answered.
...
There was a brief pause. All of them were shocked by the amount.
"Is... Is that a weekly thing? Or..." He asked.
"Daily."
...
Penny took the silence as an opportunity to clarify. "My father is well aware about the app being very intrusive to one's thoughts and emotions. Of course one must be well compensated if they are willing to have their privacy breached to an extent."
"Makes sense." Thought the offer was good, he was still a bit unsure. "How long till I'm not needed anymore?"
"A long time. Possibly years. It will be all up to you. Once this app is launched to the general public, we would still need someone to test this on for updates, bug fixes, those sorts of things." She took the ring off and handed it to him. "All you have to do is to wear this ring, and earn a passive income."
He took a moment gazing at the ring on the palm of his hand and contemplated on the offer. "Well, I kinda do need the money..."
"If you're interested, you could start now by wearing the ring. It automatically tracks how long it's being worn. Oh! Meet my father first for some quick paperwork." She handed him a card containing the contact information and current address of the man. "Just ask him if you have any more questions."
He held it up to read it. "Hmm... Doctor Pietro Polendina... Here's a bunch of numbers... Oh, he lives here in Beacon?"
"Yes, he does. Would you like to visit him now?"
"After lunch. Let me finish this real quick." He slid the card down his pocket, wore the ring, and then began to eat. There wasn't much on his plate so it wouldn't take long for him to gobble it all up and and chug the milk down. "See you guys later! And thanks, Penny! You're a life saver."
And with that, he headed out of the cafeteria with haste.
"You're welcome!" She waved him goodbye. "Thanks for taking the job!"
"Wow. Never seen him eat food faster than Nora eats pancakes." Ren said.
Nora crossed her arms and said with confidence, "Meh, I could be faster if I wanted too."
Penny sat back down beside Ruby and asked them. "Jaune is very cute. Does he have a girlfriend yet?"
They gave each other brief looks.
"He..." Though she hesitated, Pyrrha answered truthfully regardless. "He doesn't have one."
"Great! He seems very nice. Maybe we would work as a couple!"
"..." Weiss wiped her mouth clean with a table napkin and then spoke. "You might want to go for someone else."
"Why?"
"There's someone else he already likes..." Realizing what she just said and knowing who she was referring to made her slightly turn red and shift her gaze away. "...I think."
Now Weiss was earning everyone's stares.
"Hmm... I wonder who." Penny took out her scroll again and opened the app. The list of names were in alphabetical order, so she tapped on an icon that would instead sort them by who Jaune is attracted to, starting from the most down to the least. "Interesting."
"What is it?" Ruby said, taking a peek.
Everyone else soon followed, curious as to who he liked the most.
"Oh, you wanna see?" She had no problems showing them, placing her scroll in the middle of the table.
The list goes as follows:
Weiss - 30% - Yellow heart
Penny - 5% - Green heart
Pyrrha - 95% - Blue heart
Ruby - 80% - Blue heart
Yang - 75% - Blue heart
Velvet - 50% - Blue heart
Blake - 45% - Blue Heart
Coco - 40% - Blue heart
Nora - 50% - Violet heart
Ren - 0% - Violet heart
.
.
.
"..." Though the top result was expected, Weiss' face turned slightly red. She was pleased to know she was on the top spot. Though she was good at hiding this fact and acted like she was annoyed. "Ugh... Seems like he hasn't gotten over me."
Ruby seemed a bit more shocked at a different matter though. "Penny? You two just met. How does he have a crush on you already?!"
"I think attraction doesn't necessarily require length of time spent with the one you admire." On her scroll, she was eyeing Weiss' icon specifically. "I wonder..."
Penny took her scroll and began fiddling on it. To them, it seemed like she merely exited the app. But once the scroll was back in her skirt's pocket, she pressed a button it before taking her hand out. Her scroll began to record their conversation.
She then turned to the white-haired heiress. "Do you not like him back?"
Everyone's gaze was now on Weiss.
"I-I..." The pressure got to her and decided to come up with something a bit vague. "Hmph! I think you all already know the answer." She crossed her arms and turned away.
Blake raised a brow at her, not really satisfied with the answer but decided not to pry.
"Geez, Ice Queen. Lighten up~ Anyways... With all the times you turned him down, I think it's obvious." Yang was the complete opposite. She seemed content with Weiss' statement.
"Yeah... We know you don't like him." Ruby had a look of disappointment on her face as she said that. Then she turned to notice Pyrrha still frowning and looking down at her plate. "Pyrrha, we need to talk after lunch. It's about Jaune. And Penny? You're coming with us."
"Yay! My very first girl talk!" The robot girl was getting all giddy again.
Now that Penny was invited and revealing the topic of their future conversation, Pyrrha gave Ruby a confused look.

Anyway, if you peeps did like this story where Jaune's privacy gets invaded, might I suggest reading my other story, "Jaune's Video Diary", where more of his privacy is invaded in a different way? xD
Not to flex, I swear! But I genuinely have no idea how the heck that story ended up on the top 18th on the most Followed story in the romance category/genre out of... like... 7000 stories (as I'm currently writing this). And I literally knew nothing about writing, and it was my very first attempt to write a story. All I did was write a guilty pleasure of a fanfic. Point is... You peeps might like it despite the poor writing quality of the first few chapters. Heh... Well... If it makes it any better. I've been told that the later chapters do get a bit better as you read on.
If you made it this far, then thank you so much for taking the time and effort to read all this! I appreciate it a lot. If you have any questions at all, just hit me up in the DMs. I do my best to get to everyone's messages.
