Chapter 3: Red Faction - The Battle of Two Supers
Planet Todocama, 10 days before The Battle of Two Supers...
The mouthless, winged harpy like figure stood over the collapsed form of the Saiyan Bardock.
With one strike, he rendered one of the most feared warriors in the universe unconscious. The shapeshifter could've killed him, rather easily in fact, but he decided not to.
That wasn't the job he'd been paid for. No need to add extra work.
His job was to keep this guy busy while his employer's forces could wreck havoc in the form of a massive chain explosion aimed at the main enemy forces.
Now that his task was finished, and his troublesome foe dealt with, it was time to make his exit.
The shapeshifter extended his wings, jumped up in the air and flew off. In this form, it only took 5 minutes to reach his escape craft: A PTO standard Attack Pod.
Simple, and lacking any sort of defenses. It was a rather resilience craft however as each could easily break in and out of planetary orbit without decelerating in the latter case.
Not his personal choice, but the only method available that could be inserted stealthily behind enemy lines.
The space craft was hidden far away from the city. A few dozen miles in fact. Best to play it safe then risk it getting caught up in a stray explosion.
The shapeshifter transformed his form into what he usually used for social interactions these days and climbed into the pod, starting up the sequence to head to the planet of his choosing.
As the pod slowly rose up, the shapeshifter opened a storage compartment. Inside was a comms unit with a direct link to his employer.
It was an older model hand held hologram device. Perfectly fine with him. Wearing a Scouter was rather distasteful.
He activated the device as this pod started to launch off toward the sky. His employer designated himself as "G", a humanoid with rather...odd hair.
It didn't bother him that his employer used an atlas. In fact it worked better that way, names were a simple way to identify people, places and things anyway. He didn't use his birth name anyway...not that he could remember it even if he wanted to.
The hologram of G appeared; a human looking male wearing glasses and a mix of a swirl and front curl with a thin pony tail that stretches down his back then twirled around his legs as a hairstyle. This old school hologram didn't support color however. It simply bathed the image in light blue.
"I see you're making your getaway." G said matter of fact like. "Ahead of schedule in fact."
"Yep." The shapeshifter said, smirking. "Thanks for accommodating my meager requests on the comms. I hate Scouters."
"I can relate to that particular distaste." G agreed. "Those devices, though useful in various ways, are quite a handicap."
"I didn't think the PTO had anyone with a sense of humor."
"You'll find that a few of us Loyalists left do, especially given the joke of a state we are in now."
The shapeshifter let out a laugh, taking the black hat upon his head off. He smiled before speaking once again.
"Gotta hand it to you, I thought Ledgic was the only one left who had any brains on you guys' side."
"Indeed. Mentor had the foresight to create a group of commanders after the Fall of New Arcose. We of the new breed can formulate multiple complex strategies far beyond the simple run of the mill mass charges many COs utilize. In short, officers that can actually think. A rarity amongst Lord Frieza's forces." G replied with a nod. "I am among the first of his pupils, and I am charged with delaying operations in this quadrant."
The green haired man could relate to the growing desperation of Frieza's part of the PTO. His organization was like that in the early days, just a daily struggle to survive.
Heh, that's what happens when you go into empire building. Underworld, organized crime, that's the way to go.
"Got to say, this is the first time I've fought a Saiyan." He chuckled, changing the subject. "Tougher then they say, I can see why you all are in such trouble."
"I'm simply glad that intel file on Bardock you requested turned into such an asset." G replied. "Your abilities are rare, well worth your pay."
"The Intergalactic Mafia always aims to complete our contracts above satisfaction." The mobster replied. "Pleasure doing business with you."
"And to you as well." G replied, placing his hand on his chest and bowing slightly. "I hope we can count on you and your organization again, Incognito."
The mobster placed the hand back on his head. "As long as the pay is right G. As long as the pay is right."
Several minutes later...
The first thing Bardock heard was voices. Voices that he couldn't make out.
The Saiyan opened his eyes. Two or three forms were vaguely made out in the blinding light. One seemed to be knelt down by his face.
Lights started to dim, eyes focusing as these forms took shape. The forms before him were members of the 36th Legion: His men.
They were calling his name, or at least that's what the words he thought he was hearing.
"W-what happened?" Bardock blinked several times, trying to sit up faster than he should have.
"Easy Commander Bardock!" The kneeling trooper called out, holding out a hand to the Saiyan. "You gave us a scare, sir."
"We were ordered to recon the area when we lost contact with you." The massive, green skinned trooper standing to the right said, somewhat answering the commander's question. "Found you here, taking a nap."
Bardock started to push up on his legs. "Yeah, I fought some weird creature. It was-" He cut himself off, remembering a key factor.
"That explosion..." Bardock turned his head, grabbing the shoulder of the trooper beside him. "Tell me, how many losses did we take?"
The trooper looked down, hesitating to answer. "Total casualties have exceeded 60%. 70% of those figures are from our local allies."
"Goddamn it..." Bardock muttered. He promised these people peace...Not peace though death. "How are the Tomakachi reacting to this?"
"Their leaders, what's left of them, are gathering now." The standing trooper reported. "While I can't understand a thing they're saying, it seems like a bitter sweet state of mind."
"Ha, who can blame them..." Bardock replied, gaze drifting to his left at the partly ablaze Dodo settlement. "And the Dodo?"
"Wiping out the last of them as we speak." The same trooper answered. "For a race lacking in brains, they are dangerous mob fighters."
"Our transport ship detected several Attack Pods and other larger vessels leaving the planet shortly after that explosion." The kneeling trooper added. "The Loyalists seemed to have left the Dodo to their fate."
"Yeah well, we may have won tactically but this is a disaster." Bardock pushed up to his feet, looking at the city as he crossed his arms. "60% casualties from a single misstep. The enemy is getting smarter. We need to play it carefully from now on..."
The two trooper didn't reply, only the one rose to his feet as they stared at the back of their commander.
"Whoever has the highest rank after me is in charge now." The Saiyan said after several long moments of silence. He turned to face the two troopers, lowering his arms. "Tell them to report this to command, assist the Tomakachi in any way possible to help them recover from this mess, and get ready to pull out."
"Sir!" The troopers saluted, the green skinned trooper relaying the order while the other asked this next question.
"What will you do now sir?"
"I'm heading off to the next fight, and I can imagine I'm already late as it is." Bardock answered, surrounding himself with his aura before taking off towards his own spacecraft. "Sorry to leave you all hanging again, but this is orders from the top."
"We understand sir." The trooper replied with a nod. "Good luck."
Bardock let out an amused humf before launching off into the sky. "Luck huh?" He said to himself. "We Saiyans make our own luck."
It took the Saiyan several minutes before he reached his Attack Pod. He quickly sat inside, punching in the coordinates to Planet B25 and starting up the launch sequence.
Bardock leaned back, letting out a heated breath. This whole day was one disappointment after another.
His son, the shapeshifter, the state of his legion, the results of this campaign.
Now rushing off to help Riddic in some fight before he could wrap things up here.
While he had no idea what was gonna happen in 10 days time, Bardock did know one thing.
When he got there, he was gonna be pissed.
Bad news for the sorry fools who end up his enemies then.
Planet B25, present day
"This is Commander Bardock to any on this frequency. I'm here like you wanted Riddic." The Saiyan said into his Scouter, hovering above the impact crater recently made by his Attack Pod. "Tell me where our enemies are. I need to beat something to death."
"This is Paragus." A voice replied over the comms channel. "Riddic is currently engaged with the enemy leader. The rest of us have split up to fight other opponents over the area."
"Yeah that matches up with what I'm feeling." Bardock muttered, raising his head to see the towering tree he saw from orbit. "Anyone reporting any troubles?"
"Bardock, we're Saiyans. I thought you knew better."
Bardock let out a laugh. "Newly picked up habit. Sorry." He paused a few moments, looking in the direction of each of the battles he could detect. "Guess I'll head to the closest one and go from there."
The newly arrived Saiyan didn't wait for Paragus's reply before heading off toward the closest powers he could pick up amongst the raging intensity of waves Riddic's battle was giving off.
It was an odd thing, cause the foe the Super Saiyan was fighting against felt similar in some sinister fashion.
And that foe felt even stronger then the Super Saiyan, but that was impossible.
Nobody could defeat a Super Saiyan. No one ever has before.
Or so the legends say...
Meanwhile...
Prince Vegeta was barely holding his own against his foe(s), but he managed to remain enough of an edge to make it seem like he was only playing around.
A hard ruse to maintain for so long. One that would not work for much longer, though it added him that his opponent(s) liked to toy around with their prey.
Vegeta dodged left and right through a barrage of small reddish energy balls launched by his foe. The Saiyan Prince circled wide, slowly making his way toward the ugly alien.
"What's wrong prince?" The fused being stated, laughing as he finished up his attack. "Where did that ego of yours go?"
"I can't waste all my energy talking to you." Prince Vegeta smartly replied, coming to a halt a few dozen feet from the alien. "Besides, if I could kill you with words alone I would've won already."
The fused Lakasei-Rasin smirked before dashing towards the Saiyan Prince. "I agree completely! Which is the only way you could've won!"
Vegeta raised his guard just before his opponent closed the distance between them. The ugly alien threw a punch, nearly breaking his opponent's defense.
Vegeta tried to get some distance by backing up, however the fused alien wouldn't allow it and followed the prince step by step. It took the Saiyan his all just to keep his guard up. Never before had he been this overpowered.
Yes, Vegeta knew that their were far stronger warriors out there and he knew he was a long way off from the best of them, but this was the first time it dared to show in his face.
Prince Vegeta let out a tsk, continuingly stuck on the defensive. Waiting for a chance to breath, a chance to counter, anything that would change the situation.
Unfortunately that chance didn't come soon enough. One heavy blow broke through his defense, knocking his arms upward.
The fused butt headed alien pulled his free fist forward, chuckling.
"This is it-" A brief flash of light shone out, temporarily blinding the young warrior as he closed his eyes. When Vegeta reopened them, what was one became two again.
"Damn, ran out of time!" Lakasei shouted, looking at his brother.
"We were so close!" Rasin replied, equally as frustrated as his brother.
Prince Vegeta smirked, not wasting a moment of this golden opportunity. He rushed up to the nearest of the two aliens, opened his palm, and fired a massive energy blast near point blank. The chosen victim only had enough time to let out a single gasp before being completely erased by the attack.
"Lakasei!" Rasin cried out in horror. Vegeta turned his gaze to the alien, letting out a low laugh. "That's one butt face alien down, and one to go."
Rasin let out a growl, cursing at the prince before throwing himself at the foe. "I'll kill you!"
Vegeta let out an amused huff, closing one eye as he easily dodged the volley of punches and occasional kicks by the furious little alien. Bored with showing his superiority after a few minutes, Prince Vegeta delivered a high kick to his foe's chin. The force sent Rasin high into the air, tumbling end over end.
Vegeta threw his hand up, extending two fingers toward the airborne Rasin and fired an extremely small, concentrated ball of energy.
This ball connected with Rasin soon after, entering his body and exploding from the inside. Nothing but a few ashes remains.
"I think I made the universe a cleaner place today." The Saiyan Prince stated, pleased with himself.
He lowered his hand, taking another moment or two in self satisfaction before turning his body toward the massive, divine tree. Vegeta sensed two massive powers there, one clearly Riddic and the other...similar in a way but as different as it was strong. Almost suffocating in fact.
Even so, this didn't deter the young prince's next move.
"Now then, let's see how a fight with a Super Saiyan matches up with the legend."
Lea fired an energy wave at the duo Cacao and Daiz. Instead of dodging like the pair usually did, the two of them threw their hands out in front of them. They formed energy balls, combining them together, and "caught" Lea's energy wave.
The two moved their hands upward, slowly as they struggled for control, then threw their hands high up in the sky sending both energy attacks out of harms way.
"OK, now you are just showing off." Lea said with a tsk.
"Oh but we're not finished yet." Daiz replied with a chuckle, he looked at his cybernetic partner. "Cacao, let's use our special move."
"Affirmative Daiz." The cyborg replied, flying upward. The dark greenish blue haired humanoid charged up two energy balls in both hands before leaping up as well.
"You think I'd let you get away with whatever it is you are planning?" Lea said as she raced towards the pair.
Daiz simply let out a laugh, as he matched Cacao's level. He turned toward the cyborg, extending the two energy balls towards his partner.
Cacao extended his arms out in turn, charging his own energy into the two balls. After a moment, the balls grew double in size. Several seconds after that, the two balls fused into one.
Fully charged, the pair threw the enlarged energy ball towards the Saiyan female with a yell. The latter stopped herself midflight, hastily forming a barrier around herself before the attack made contact.
The combo move shattered her barrier with relative ease, her skin scorching from the parts that it didn't absorb. For the first time in this entire fight, Daiz and Cacao inflicted real damage upon Lea.
It felt like her skin was on fire as she yelled in agony, flying backwards as her reflexes made her grab at parts of her body. It didn't help any, only made her skin more irritated.
"GODDAMN ITTTT!" She yelled, forcing her arms to drop. The most affected parts of her body kept twitching in pain. Lea looked at her arms; parts of it look like rusted metal and smelled like burnt rubber.
"How'd ya like our Scorched Earth combo?" Daiz asked with a chuckle. "Cacao's got a few interesting chemicals in his body ever since he became a cyborg. After a bit of experimenting, we found out that together we can make an attack that can burn flesh regardless of how strong or weak our foes maybe!"
"Gotta say though, you are the first person to avoid complete exposer to it or even survive afterword."
Lea flashed her teeth, fighting through the pain coursing through her body.
"OK, you two just went from annoying to PISSING ME OFF!" She roared, raising both hands to the sky. The Saiyan closed one eye as the motion caused her further pain, but her fury kept her from recoiling and carried through with her attack.
Lea unleashed a volley of energy waves at the duo. Daiz and Cacao wasted no time in dodging the opening attacks. Lea kept up her attack, throwing in some homing energy attacks this time.
Cacao avoided many for a time, between his natural agility and the boosters installed into his body he was much better prepared for this kind of attack. A few times however, an energy wave grazed or struck his lower legs or arms and threw him off balance. The cyborg quickly managed to compensate and continued his evasive maneuvers.
Daiz wasn't as fortunate, as he been hit several times in the back or front of his chest. While this caused him damage, the humanoid mostly avoided taking too many blows and mostly dodged or deflected every attack that was thrown his way.
Standing in the same spot since the beginning of this fight, Paragus frowned as Lea's temper proved to be the better of her once again.
Here she is, dancing to her opponents' tune. Wasting time and energy while Lord Riddic seems to be fighting against a foe as strong if not stronger then he. Paragus couldn't even tell if that power is Turles or not anymore. In fact, it felt similar to Riddic in a way...
Least Bardock was planet side to help the others should they need it. These minions of the renegade weren't exactly pushovers either.
"Enough of this..." Paragus shook his head, flying off towards the battle. He flew right next to Lea, the latter still blasting away. "Lea, that's enough now. Get ahold of yourself!"
"Back off Paragus!" She shouted, firing off the last of the energy waves before turning to face the fellow Saiyan. "I told you these two are mine! Go back to your corner and stay there!"
"WILL YOU LISTEN FOR ONCE STUBBORN WOMAN!" Paragus grabbed Lea by the collar. "While you were making a fool of yourself, I've been keeping track of all that's been going on around us! In cause you haven't felt it, your lover is getting thrashed about by whatever the hell Turles had turned himself into!"
Lea looked toward the tree once more, this time it's canopy had stretched out to cover much of the nearby sky. Vines or some equivalent reach down as if trying to touch the earth below.
Once again, she felt what she briefly sensed before. A massive power similar in strength to Riddic.
At that moment Lea felt her mate's power dip down drastically. He was in trouble. Damn it.
"Ok..Ok fine. What now?" Lea took in a breath, calming down.
"Isn't in obvious?" Paragus smirked. He hear something approaching, looked up, then pushed Lea away before dodging the incoming energy wave.
"You two done talking?!" Daiz shouted with a laugh. "We're still fighting or did you forget?!"
"Oh we were just about to resume you punk!" Lea replied. "Paragus, take the cyborg freak! Pretty boy is mine!"
"Fine by me." Paragus said, flying off towards his opponent. "Bout time I fought something today."
Nappa roared, firing his eye lasers at Amond. The latter decided to amuse himself further by playing a game of tag with the brutish Saiyan and lead him on a chase around the base of the Tree of Might and eventually further out.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Saiyan army was getting furious with each passing moment. It was bad enough his opponent humiliated him by shaving off his hair, now he was treating this like a game!
I mean, this would've been funnier if Amond was fleeing in terror but his was simply aggravating!
The leader of the Crusher Corps easily dodged the small energy beams with a laugh. "You gotta try harder than that!"
"Stop running you bastard!" Nappa shouted back.
"What's wrong? Can't keep up in our simple game of tag?"
"Why don't you come here and I'll show you what I can do!"
Amond let out a laugh. "So it's my turn to be it huh old man?"
Nappa's eye went bloodshot from the insult. "WHO YOU CALLING OLD MAN!? I STILL HAVE 40 YEARS IN MY PRIME EASY!"
"Then why don't you show it, old man?!" Amond shouted, twisting around and racing towards his Saiyan opponent.
Nappa, caught off-guard, only had enough time to stop himself before Amond smashed his fist into the Saiyan's face. Staggering back, Nappa was defenseless against his foe's follow up right hook and kick to the chest.
The mid-class Saiyan tumbled toward the ground. Crashing on his backside, Nappa closed his eyes as he twitched in pain. Dirt covering his body in small clops.
Amond chuckled to himself, quickly lowering himself to ground level. He slowed as the ground grew closer, crossing his arms soon after his feet touch the dry soil.
"Tag, you're it." The tall humanoid said with a smirk, appreciating his handy work.
Nappa raised his head up, body still racked with pain. He opened a single eye, flashing his teeth in pure rage.
"Piss off you annoying trash!"
"Awh, don't wanna play anymore?" Amond started, pointing his hand toward the Saiyan. "That's fine. I was getting bored anyway."
Energy charged in Turles's right hand man's open palm, growing nearly twice its size before he fired an energy wave at Nappa.
Nappa opened his other eye, letting out a defiant yell as his final act in this fight. The wave closed in quickly, following a small explosion upon contact.
Amond let out a laugh, placing his hands on his hips.
"Well it was fun, for a warm up I guess!"
"Warm up huh? That's good to hear." An unknown voice replied. Amond's eyes widened in surprise for a moment, letting his arms drop.
The smoke created from the explosion began to clear. Slowly, a new, black hair Saiyan with a shocking resemblance to Turles feel into Amond's view. In fact, for a moment he thought it was Turles! However, this look alike had lighter colored skin, scars upon his face, and a completely different armor configuration.
"Now you won't have an excuse when I start beating you to a pulp." This new arrival said, his face holding a stone cold, serious look.
Nappa looked into the back of Bardock, his savior, whom seemingly appeared out of nowhere, "It's you, Bardock." Nappa said, bringing himself up to rest on one knee. "Heard you were gonna show up. Better late then never I guess."
"Looks like I had to save you again Nappa." Bardock stated, looking over his shoulder. "What's the count again? Forth or fifth?"
"Real smart ass aren't you?" Nappa replied, rising to his feet. He walked two steps past Bardock, the latter returning his gaze to Amond whom stood a bit confused as this all went on.
"Well thanks for the save, but this guy is mine!" Nappa stated, cracking his knuckles as he quickly did the same with his neck. "Stay out of it from this point forward ok?"
"Sure big guy, if you are fine in failing your other job."
Nappa turned his head. "What do you mean?"
"You feel where the prince is heading?" Bardock answered, casually gazing at the large Saiyan.
It took the big guy a moment before he caught onto what Bardock was saying. Nappa closed his eyes, focusing on Prince Vegeta's unique energy signal.
It was hard at first, with the two massive power levels nearby smothering the whole area. He could make out four different powers, probably fighting each other, a fair distance away. These where probably Lea and Paragus against their opponents. So where was the Prince of all Saiyans?
Nappa started to get annoyed when he finally picked up his charge's signal. Vegeta wasn't too far off, but he was certainly in a different place then before. In fact, he was moving or so it seems.
Looks like he defeated the two foes he'd been fighting, as expected, and was moving onto the next battlefield. But the only thing in that direction is...
"That little idiot!" Nappa proclaimed, suddenly reopening his eyes. "What is his highness thinking?!"
Bardock crossed his arms. "Yeah, better go catch him before he does something dumb." He looked back at Amond, the latter smirking at this point as he seemed to have composed himself awhile ago."I'll deal with this guy and help you clean up after the prince."
Nappa threw his fist to the side. "Fine! But you owe me for this Bardock!"
"Let's just say you owe me one less then." Bardock lowered his arms, keeping his eyes solely on his new foe. "Clocks ticking Nappa."
"We aren't though, you hear me?!" Nappa shouted towards Amond as his body was surrounded in aura. "If Bardock doesn't finish you off by the time I get back, I'll tear your head off hear me?!"
"Oooh scary." Amond replied, slightly amused. Nappa didn't offer anything further, he simply flew off on an intercept course with Prince Vegeta.
"He's underestimating me if he thinks I can't defeat you in short order. Status will do that to a Saiyan I suppose." Bardock said a few moments after Nappa left.
"Ha, the same can be said for you newbie!" Amond said with a smirk. "That guy could barely do anything. What makes you think you can do any better?"
"For starters, I know exactly what I'm dealing with." Bardock replied with a smirk of his own. "Let's just say I'm not impressed."
Amond frowned. "Oh yeah? Well then, have a taste of this!" He spun around several times, his body a blur of colors as he preformed his signature attack. A disk like energy disk launched from his hand the moment Amond suddenly stopped spinning. It raced toward Bardock at an alarming speed.
Or rather, where the Saiyan once was.
Amond's gleeful face quickly morphed into confusion as his disk attack continued onward without a target to hit. Before he could ask the obvious question, Bardock reappeared behind the towering humanoid.
"The other thing is, I don't underestimate my opponents." The Saiyan stated, ramming his fist into Amond's backside.
The leader of the Crusher Corps let out a yell of pain. His pupils fading as his body struggled to remain conscious from the sheer pain of the blow. Amond fell to his knees, perfect for Bardock as he smashed into his opponent's head with a hammer fist.
Amond slammed head first into the ground. Bardock looked at his collapsed form for a moment, then stomped once on the big man's back side for good measure. The ground cracked from the force of the Saiyan's blow, removing any doubt from his mind that his foe was finished.
Bardock turned and walked towards the massive Tree of Might, stopping after closing a dozen feet or so. The Saiyan raised his head towards the top of the tree, -rather as close to the top as he could see- crossing his arms before taking a few moments to study the planet killer.
"Now then...how to approach this..." He said, referring to what his senses were picking up at this time.
The two near identical powers where clearly Riddic and who ever this Turles guy is. The sinister feeling one had to be the latter, which would've been more overwhelming to not only he but everyone else planet side if they weren't used to feeling the pressure of a Super Saiyan by now.
Which is why it proved to be so unnerving that this Turles had a power so much like a Super Saiyan.
That's impossible. There can't be two Super Saiyans, can there?
Questions on that matter were pushed aside for now. These two had been trying to engulf each other for some time now, meaning the two were fighting each other.
And by all accounts, the more sinister power was winning.
Which is what begged the question; what could he do against a power proving to best thee legendary Super Saiyan?
Aside from futile actions that is.
Turles flipped end over end, rotating his body a full 180 degrees as he slammed a downward kick onto the other Super Saiyan's head. Riddic fell forward his face slamming on the floor. He cursed as his foe slowly approached from behind.
"This fight is disappointingly one sided!" Turles said with a mix of glee and mild casualness. "I was expecting more from you, but perhaps this advantage is thanks to the fruit of the Tree of Might...Yes, divinity fused with legend. That makes sense now that I think about it. Hahahaha, perhaps that woman didn't lie to me after all."
Riddic picked himself up on his elbows, turning his head toward the second Super Saiyan.
"No need to trouble yourself to get up." Turles said, shrugging his arms. "Honestly, it's just a wasted effort. I'll simply knock you down again."
"That doesn't mean I should give up." Riddic replied, rising to his feet. He turned around, settling into a simple fighting stance. "I cannot. Not after everything I've done up till this point."
"Well, I suppose I can commend you on your commitment." Turles said with a smirk.
"Such a shame. Here I was, considering to extend a hand of mercy by offering that we should pair up. A Super Saiyan is enough to set the entire universe in fear, just imagine what chaos two Super Saiyans would cause. But alas, I see that no matter how much I beat you down you will not break your hypocritical ideals."
"And so first Super Saiyan in over 1,000 years, you leave me no choice but to kill you and take your place in the galactic order."
"As if I'd let you!" Riddic retorted, dashing towards the other Super Saiyan. He opened with a near point blank energy blast, using the explosion and following smokescreen to close in taking full advantage of the fact that Turles cannot sense energy.
Riddic sensed his foe quickly, throwing a left hook at the man's face. The latter caught it simply. "Too slow." Turles stated, flashing his teeth in a casual smile. The first Super Saiyan threw a right kick, but this too was block with Turles's free hand.
Riddic threw his free right hand in the space between Turles's hands, right in front of the latter's face, and fired an energy blast.
Turles let go of Riddic's left hand, allowing him to jump back. He only planted his feet on the ground when Turles reappeared off his left side. Taken by surprise, Riddic only had enough time to turn part of his body before his foe slammed his knee in the first Super Saiyan's chest, followed up by an uppercut, then a straight kick that sent Riddic bouncing off the ground.
"I have to say, you are fighting more and more like a true Saiyan the longer we fight each other." Turles honestly said. "Using whatever means you have to win as long as you win on your own. You are a proud member of the Saiyan race all right."
He extended both hands above his head, purple energy charged in between. Unstable dark purple "bolts of lightning" shot out in vast numbers between the gaps.
"So, I will give you a death befitting a true Saiyan warrior! You should feel honored that a Super Saiyan has granted you this."
Turles waited for Riddic to pick himself up from the floor, launching his Calamity Wave attack soon after. "Farewell my fellow Super Saiyan!"
Riddic braced himself, placing his hands out and catching the energy wave if only briefly. He struggled to push it back or at least hold his footing. He only managed this for a few short moments before the wave proved too strong. Riddic was thrown back, carried with the massive purple-white attack. He could feel every bit of his body disintegrating, and yet nearly as fast as his body was dying his body was healing itself.
The wave carried the Super Saiyan far away from the planet-killing tree. Thus creating the image that he had been defeated. While Riddic knew his body was immortal, this was the first time he had been damaged so. He had no idea how long his body needed to regenerate itself nor how great his zenkai boost would be, if he would get one that is.
For now however, Turles relished in his triumph. Completely unaware of his foe's immortality for the time being. Oh how is would be a sight worth seeing once Riddic returned.
Thought that would be a small pleasure if he couldn't gain enough power to defeat his foe.
If worse came to worse however...there is always the fruit.
Speaking of next steps, despite the burning pain he found himself in, Riddic detected three separate powers approaching the core of the tree where Turles dwelled. He couldn't quite tell who was who with the current disturbance, but that mattered little. Riddic couldn't afford even one of his comrades to be killed on this venture. All were important for various reasons.
So he focused, reaching out with telepathy, trying to communicate with the closest of the three. It was the only option until this wave let up and freed at least one hand for Instant Transmission.
Hopefully it was someone who would listen...
Meanwhile...
Paragus found himself at a disadvantage. His opponent Cacao had a touch exterior then previously imagined proven by the several blows Paragus landed upon it. While he could match the cyborg blow for blow, Paragus knew it was only a matter of time before his hands started to fail him.
Every time the Saiyan tried to fire some sort of energy blast Cacao used his boosters to dodge even the near point blank shots.
"Come on old man!" Lea cried out, casually dodging a right hook from Daiz. She flipped forward, kicking the rouge on the top of his head and sent him hurtling toward the ground. "I'm getting tired playing with this guy waiting for you to wrap it up!"
"I'm far from old!" Paragus called back, parrying a punch aimed at his face. "This cyborg's body is really tough is all!"
"Of course it is! He's a cyborg Paragus! I already figured his body would be tough because of that!"
Paragus frowned, dodging back to avoid a high kick while countering with his own side kick. It didn't do much however. "Then why don't you get off my back and let me fight this guy in peace?!"
"No deal." Lea flatly said, crossing her arms. "You were the one who said we couldn't waste any more time here!" She turned to her side, extending an arm to the recovered Daiz. "Now that these two are separated, they aren't so much trouble." She stated, firing an energy blast at the former warrior prince.
Daiz caught the blast, getting dragged down to the ground before the attack exploded upon impact. Satisfied by the fact she couldn't sense her opponent anymore, Lea quickly flew toward Cacao. The female Saiyan gave the cyborg an uppercut, then held both her hands above her head.
"Blast him!" She commanded to Paragus, whom fired an energy wave a moment after she released hers.
The two waves twisted together in a spiral of destructive energy, hitting their target just as the cyborg managed to stop his flight. Nothing but ashes remained after the attack connected.
Paragus let out a sigh, he clearly had a long way to go. Lea turned her body towards the Tree of Might, taking a moment to feel out what was happening over that way.
Lea felt the similar yet sinister massive power and three lesser powers approaching it. She couldn't sense her lover...
Something was wrong.
"Let's go or I'll leave you behind." Lea stated, flying off towards the massive tree.
Paragus took a moment, closing his eyes as he felt the same situation Lea had a moment ago. The Saiyan shook his head, opening his eyes once again.
"If we survive this, you and I need to have a very serious discussion." He said, more to himself before flying after Lea.
"Looks like it takes a Super Saiyan to kill another Super Saiyan." Turles stated joyfully to himself. He laughed, low and short. The renegade pulled his hand up to near eye level, clenching and relaxing his fist twice.
"With power like this, there is without a doubt that I am the strongest warrior in the universe. Thank you Riddic, I couldn't have reached this level without you." An image briefly flashed in Turles's mind before he chose to add: "I suppose that woman should be given credit as well. She did set the stage for this to happen-ah wait, perhaps this is what she wanted after all."
The Super Saiyan chuckled to himself, crossing his arms. "Yes...that makes sense given how she acted then. Of course I could be giving her too much credit. No matter. It's a simple task of tracking her down should I desire an answer."
"H-how can this be?" A young voice called. Turles let out a slight hmm, smirk on his face as he casually turned around.
"Well this is a surprise. If it isn't Prince Vegeta. You're the spitting image of your father." Turles lowered his arms, gazing into the confused and alarmed face of the young Saiyan.
"How you can you be a Super Saiyan too?" The prince demanded to know, doing his best to hide the uneasiness in his voice.
Turles snicker at this. "I know, shocking isn't it? I was quite surprised as well. Who would've thought that there can be two Super Saiyans at the same time? Perhaps it's possible to have more than that!"
Prince Vegeta frowned. "I asked you how."
Turles raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Even know in the face of a legendary warrior you still act like a royal? Adorable, and brave young prince-"
He vanished, reappearing with his face within spitting distance to the young Saiyan. "-and quite foolish of you to make demands of me."
Prince Vegeta flinched, pulling his head back as he backed up two steps. Turles chuckled, choosing now to unravel his tail wrapped around his waist as he rose to his full height.
"I admire your audacity in the face of a higher power as much as I find in amusing." The Super Saiyan continued. "Tell you what prince, why don't you join me? I like people such as yourself. Besides, it wouldn't hurt to have someone else of noble blood on my crew. What do you say?"
"You're serious?" Prince Vegeta smirked. "You want me to work under you?"
"Well you are still a child, so I'd think of it more of taking you under my wing." The Super Saiyan answered.
"I plan on taking over the galaxy, so it would never hurt to have a successor to the throne lined up ahead of time. In fact, it'll save me some trouble later on raising a son from scratch."
Turles extended his hand towards the boy, his tail lowering itself further as a sign of honest kindship with the Saiyan Prince. If he could recruit the boy, he was certain to gain the allegiance of the Saiyan race. Thus an army of enforcers to aid in his galactic conquest.
As a warrior race, Turles cannot think of a greater challenge for the Saiyans than waging war against the entire galaxy.
"What do you say oh Prince of Saiyans?" Turles smiled in a honest and rather unnervingly kind fashion. "Join my crew and together the universe will be ours for the taking!"
Prince Vegeta let out a laugh. "You certainly know how to make a deal that's hard to refuse." He replied, slowly walking towards the Super Saiyan. Turles opened his mouth slightly, pleased with how things were developing so far.
"I'm glad you see things my way."
"Yes. You made everything quite clear Turles."
Vegeta stopped, arms length away from the newly christened Super Saiyan. The latter continued to smile, twitching the fingers of his extended hand in an act to both draw the prince's attention and to show his was getting a little impatient.
Prince Vegeta chuckled to himself. He raised his left arm towards Turles's open hand.
"Well Super Saiyan, this is my answer."
The prince suddenly dashed toward Turles's tail, grabbing it with his right hand before he could react.
Turles winced a bit, he was still training himself to get over the common tail weakness that all lower class Saiyans had to deal with. It wasn't a paralyzing weakness like all other low class warriors had to deal with, more of an irritation like a bug bite that shot up his spine.
"W-what are you?!"
Before he could finish, Vegeta, seeing how the tail wasn't as great of a weak point as he expected from those born of the lower class, bit down on it as hard as he could.
This, caused unspeakable pain to shoot right up the Super Saiyan's spine and into his brain.
"MOTHER FUCKER!" Turles shouted, whipping his tail and forcefully sending the Saiyan Prince flying head towards the ground out of the open core of the Tree of Might.
While this wasn't at full force, it was the most Turles could use on reflex.
Prince Vegeta flew out of the tree, a figure came up from below and soundly caught the little prince like he was a beach ball.
"Nice catch Nappa." The prince said like it was all according to plan.
"You're welcome Prince Vegeta." Nappa replied with a hint of annoyance in his tone. He released his charge, allowing the young Saiyan to right himself.
Turles, in all his Super Saiyan glory, appeared at the same entrance to the core as Vegeta flew out of earlier.
"You bit my tail!" Turles brought a fist up to his face as he yelled.
"You flung me through the air!" The prince retorted.
"YOU BIT MY FUCKING TAIL!"
"Yeah, well you deserved it low class clown!" The prince rose his fists up, throwing one to the side. "As if I, a Saiyan of noble birth, would ever serve under you! The nerve. In fact, you should be asking to serve under me!"
A blood vessel pulsed angrily as it popped up for all to see upon Turles's forehead.
"I'll DESTROY YOU!" He yelled, extending his hand outward.
"Well that won't do. As annoying as the kid is, we need to keep him alive for now." A new voice called out, diverting the Super Saiyan's attention.
Turles quickly turned around, his eyes scanning in the mostly dark core. It took a few moments to spot a figure nearly identical to himself tossing something up and down in his right palm.
"Speaking of annoying, why do the two of us need to share the same face? That'll make killing you kind of awkward." The look alike said, grasping the object firmly in his hand before dropping his arm to his side.
"Who are you?" Turles said, voice filled with venom. "I have no time for another annoying fly!"
"The name's Bardock. I'm a low born Saiyan like you."
"Fascinating," Turles replied with the roll of his eyes. "And what is it you want with me?"
"Nothing really, aside from telling you the tall, bulky minion of yours is dead." Bardock answered like the Super Saiyan asked him how he was feeling. "Gotta say, it's hard to find subordinates that are actually worth their salt."
"You defeated Amond?" Turles smirked at this, somewhat regaining his composure. "Impressive! He was a wanted criminal of the Galactic Patrol with a power level matching an elite fighter. No small feat."
"A power level over 10,000 is hardly considered elite anymore." Bardock shot back, raising his arm holding whatever object he was toying with before up to his mouth. "The new standard is 40,000, courtesy of Red Faction."
"Is that so?" Turles playfully replied. "Well I guess I should-wait..." The Super Saiyan cut himself off as he took a second look at the object in Bardock's hand.
"That's a-"
"Fruit from the Tree of Might, that's right." Bardock answered, taking a bite from said fruit. A moment after, the Saiyan could feel power coursing through his body as his power level easily doubled in strength. "That's...what a planet's life energy tastes like? Huh. It's certainly...different."
"Who said you could eat that without my permission?" Turles glared at Bardock, crossing his arms.
"Well you didn't exactly put your name on them." Bardock soundly replied. "All this fruit out in the air is just an open market."
Turles let out a humph. "I like your sass Saiyan. Why don't you join me? I need a new number 2."
"No thanks, I'm already working under a boss I rather like right now." Bardock replied, touching the remains of the fruit behind him. "In fact I'm doing a wonderful job with my current task."
"Oh?" Turles said, amused. "And what would that be?"
"Distracting you from the man sneaking up your backside."
"Wha-"
BAMMMM!
A mighty blow struck the Super Saiyan's head, slamming him into the tree bark to his left. Turles pulled himself free once the initial shock wore off, whipping himself around to face his assailant.
Even with his guard lowered, to inflict a blow that hurt a Super Saiyan was no laughing matter. Whom ever this was, it was trouble.
"Who dares to-?!" The second Super Saiyan cut himself off, eyes wide as he instantly knew the man hovering where he once was.
"Hi there." Riddic said smugly, even waving his hand in greeting. "Did you miss me Turles?"
"You?!" He replied, rising himself to Riddic's level. "How can this be?! I killed you!"
"Tried. You tried to kill me." Riddic tilted his head up. "All you did was make me stronger then ever. Sides, where do you think that unstoppable killing machine part of the legend came from?"
"We'll see about that." Turles muttered, smiling widely. "On second thought, I'm glad you showed up. I have some frustrations to beat out and needed a punching bag that can withstand my punches."
"Come get some then." Riddic replied cool like, vanishing from sight and reappearing outside the tree core.
Turles followed, using the same method, as he chased his fellow Super Saiyan past the prince and his escort and into an open part of the sky. Aside the canopy of the massive tree overhead of course.
The two Super Saiyans clashed, light flashing like lightning from their blows, the air seemingly quacking with each strike.
It was amazing how a near death experience can make a Saiyan so much stronger. Even more amazing when you have a healing factor.
Turles was bewildered by this dramatic increase of power. It didn't overwhelm him of course, just made his foe more his equal thus far.
"Seems you have gotten stronger there first Super Saiyan." Turles said between a series of punches and kicks he and Riddic were exchanging with one another.
"Of course. Why do you think a Super Saiyan is called unstoppable?"
"You know that applies to me as well?" Turles flipped, sending a downward kick toward his foe. Riddic rolled around the kick, countering with a mid chop to Turles's backside.
Instead, Riddic hit an afterimage. With a slight smile, he turned to his left where Turles hovered waiting for him. "I guess this will be longer then I thought." The second Super Saiyan stated.
"You never know, might be over in the blink of an eye." Riddic countered.
Turles let out a single laugh, then dashed towards the first Super Saiyan. The two continued their even contest of blows, each creating a shockwave that could be felt by all close by.
"I can't even see what's happening!" Nappa said as he still remained by Prince Vegeta's side.
"Of course you can't Nappa." Vegeta added. His eyes drifting to the areas were the two Super Saiyans were a second after they had gone. "I can't keep up with them, what makes you think u can?"
"I..I'm just."
"That's right Nappa, your just. Just a big oaf. Now why don't you shut your mouth so I can focus on keeping pace with this fight?"
Nappa let out a low frustrated growl, but complied with the order. Several silent moments past between the two as they tired to watch the epic fight evolving before their eyes when something closer drew their attention.
An explosion came from behind the pair. The two spun their heads around to witness a large body of flames spewing out of the Tree of Might around where the fruit grew.
"What happened there?" Nappa asked a moment before the answer presented itself. From the flames emerged a familiar figure; Bardock crushing the burnt remains of another piece of fruit.
The Saiyan turned his head slightly toward the prince and the commander. He slowly flew over their way, radiating in even more power then before.
Super Saiyans aside, it felt like Bardock was the strongest normal Saiyan or so Prince Vegeta thought.
"What did you do to gain such power so quickly?" Prince Vegeta demanded to know as Bardock neared the pair. The latter looked down at the young Saiyan.
"Doesn't matter." Bardock said, pointing his thumb at the burning core. "Its all up in flames now."
The young Vegeta let out a tisk. "Of course it is."
"Hey, normally I wouldn't even consider gaining this new power through just easy means unless the stakes were high." Bardock tapped a finger against his skull. "Just following orders from our Super Saiyan."
"What do you mean? What orders?"
"Yeah, and how the hell did you get these orders when I never seen Riddic talking to you?" Nappa added.
"Patience Prince Vegeta." Bardock crossed his arms, turning his body in the direction of the fight of two Super Saiyans. "All will be revealed in time. As for your question Nappa, ever heard of telepathy?"
"Its not like we Saiyans are unfamiliar with psychic abilities Nappa." Prince Vegeta took over, turning his head back toward the big oaf. "In fact, I'm starting to learn the very same technique from father. Honestly, how can the commander in chief of the Saiyan Army be so uneducated?"
Nappa let out a grunt. "Whatever you say, prince."
Vegeta raised an eyebrow, turning his body to face the battle before him but didn't remove his focus from his assigned bodyguard.
"Do I need to discipline you when we return Nappa?"
"Enough." Bardock commanded in a low tone. "Riddic might need a hand out there. Get ready to jump in on a moment's notice."
"Absurd." Vegeta shot back, glaring at the much more powerful Saiyan. "What Saiyan in their right mind would ever ask for help during a battle? Especially a Super Saiyan of all things?"
"So your telling me, the Prince of all Saiyans, would pass up a chance to defeat a Super Saiyan?" Bardock asked without removing his focus from the battle. It took all his effort to keep up with them, and just barely at that.
Vegeta blinked, processing what had just been said. "You..you're serious?" He started. "Us? Defeat a Super Saiyan?"
"It'll mostly be Riddic's effort of course." Bardock answered. "But it's the only way we can probably end this cleanly. Just need to wait for the right moment."
Riddic and Turles continued their clash of blows, going faster then few in the galaxy could keep up with, let alone match.
This was mostly for the silver-haired Saiyan to get accustomed to his new strength and compare it with a being of near equal power. While technically weaker, the difference between Riddic and Turles could be made up for with speed, experience, tactics, technique, and so on.
Funny how one zenkai boost could make such a contrast to their previous thrashing.
Turles was commenting on how impressed he was that Riddic could fight on even terms now, but the latter tuned it out. He was preparing for the decisive moment in this battle.
He had long decided that a clash of energy waves would be the concluding factor of this eye opening conflict. For that, he instructed Bardock to eat as many of the Fruit of the Tree of Might as he felt necessary to assist in this task before destroying the rest to deny Turles the chance to gain even more power.
Once Riddic launched his attack, Bardock along with Prince Vegeta and Nappa would aid what strength they had to his own wave and overpower their Super Saiyan foe.
It was a gamble, one that had to work.
Of course, Riddic could've taken advantage of his immortality, continued to fight Turles until the man tired out.
But how long would that take?
And who's to say that Turles wouldn't go for broke and destroy the whole planet in an attempt to destroy them both?
Even then, Riddic didn't know the differences between a Super Saiyan with immortality and a Super Saiyan whom ate so called divine fruit.
He didn't know the limits of the Super Saiyan transformation to begin with!
He spent too much time running a growing empire and not enough time finding out the true depths of what he could do. While that probably wouldn't change for quite sometime anyway, Riddic knew this problem needed to be corrected.
Who knows? Perhaps becoming a Super Saiyan gives you something more then legendary strength. Perhaps it gave you near unlimited stamina too.
That and what else the fruit of this planet killing tree could do aside from double the strength of those whom eat it...
Riddic simply didn't know.
And because he didn't know, because he didn't want to risk the chance under these circumstances, the first Super Saiyan in 1,000 years wanted to end this fight as soon as possible.
Riddic thought for a moment about which attack to use for his gamble. The Kamehameha was a fine attack to use, except it took a bit longer than he would've liked to charge the move to it's fullest potential power. Time he didn't have.
He couldn't use a simple energy wave either as those basic attacks couldn't fully draw out the stomping power he needed, which only left one choice.
A move he developed along side his brother.
A move that he now hated for the memories it brought to the surface of his mind.
A move that was his only real choice, feelings be damned.
Riddic broke away from his fellow Super Saiyan. The two stared at each other for a brief moment before Riddic opened his mouth.
"Why don't we end this Turles?" He asked. "Both of us have better things to do with our time then beat each other senseless in this stalemate."
"Hahaha, what does this game bore you? And when you finally managed to keep up with me..." Turles replied, grinning. "Though I admit, this fight is dragging on. While I don't mind that per say, I'm a bit surprised a fellow Saiyan feels the need to end things now. We are fighting in the greatest conflict ever seen by the galaxy after all."
"I'm not your average Saiyan. My father always raised us to be different from the common masses." Riddic replied, cursing himself for thoughtlessly including his twin. He placed both his hands at his sides, slowly spreading them further from his body and pointing his open palms towards Turles.
Energy charged in each hand, only these particular growing balls of energy spun around in different directions. This created a sort of cosmetic appeal to the pair; a tailing spiral of energy similar in appearance to that of a star.
"Regardless of what you think, I'm going to end this with my next attack." He stated, placing both hands before him. The two spiraling energy balls combined into a massive spiraling mass. With a load shout, Riddic unleashed the energy wave he'd honestly rather forget about.
"STARDUST BREAKER!"
The mass in his hands launched forward in a spiraling wave of blue energy. It sped towards its intended target, reaching half the distance by the time Turles spoke in turn.
"Very well! I'll play along!" Turles replied in kind, firing off his signature Calamity Blaster.
The spiral and light purple waves collided, -the former more drilling into the other wave then pushing- each trying to overcome the other.
"Not bad!" Turles commented, putting more energy into his attack. "You're making me try now!"
The renegade Saiyan managed to push Riddic's attack slowly back to the point were both attacks were about equal distance from each other. From that point however, Turles couldn't press any further.
"Trying huh?" Riddic muttered. "You're gonna be doing more than that..." He continued using telepathy. 'Bardock, where are you?'
"Right here." The calm, tough voice of Bardock replied. He appeared right next to the Super Saiyan. Riddic noticed how his power grew even more in the short time he last seen the commander.
'He's stronger than Turles when I first meet him.' Riddic mentally commented as Bardock added his own energy attack -Rebellion Trigger (wave version of Final Spirit Cannon fyi)- into the mix.
With Bardock's power added, it gave Riddic a chance to breath before redoubling his efforts.
"What's this?" Turles raised an eyebrow, smirking. "You need help to defeat me now oh might Super Saiyan?"
"Help? Hardly." The voice of Prince Vegeta replied.
The young prince, with Nappa off on his right side, appeared above where Bardock and Riddic were hovering. "He doesn't need our help. We merely wish to aid in killing you. After all, what greater prize is there then slaying a Super Saiyan? Even if it is an assisted kill, such a feat is irresistible even to an elite like myself."
As soon as he finished talking, Vegeta turned most of his body back. The prince set about charging for his most powerful attack. Violet energy surrounded his body in a sphere like casing.
Behind him, Nappa gathered his energy for his powerful Break Cannon attack.
"Arrogant aren't we Prince?" Turles said, though he couldn't hide the difficulty in his voice. Even if it was only slight. He pooled more of his energy into the wave, securing his place for the time being.
'We'll see who's arrogant!' Nappa mentally shouted, firing off his ultimate attack into the fray.
Vegeta merely snickered, focusing on gathering energy for his attack. It took a long time to charge it to full power, which is why it wasn't practical to use in most battle situations. He'd have to work on that once he gotten better used to the technique.
"GALIC GUN FIRE!" Prince Vegeta shouted a few minutes later, unleashing an attack passed down his family line for generations.
Nappa and Vegeta's combined might managed to gain the combining energy waves a few inches but otherwise the colliding forces remained in a stalemate.
"What now?!" Turles mockingly laughed. "Even your combined force can't defeat me!"
"I hate to admit, but he has a point." Bardock said quite enough so only Riddic could hear. "What do we do now?"
"Hold out." Riddic replied. "An opportunity will present itself, then we hit him with everything we got."
"Easy for you to say." Prince Vegeta added. "Nappa can only last so long."
Nappa glared the prince's way, but otherwise didn't do anything to show his feelings on that particular comment.
"Just be patient." Riddic smiled. "It shouldn't be too long till he slips up."
And so, the two forces continued their stalemate in a rather beautiful clash of blue, violet, yellow and purple light.
Occasionally one side would gain some ground, only to be pushed back soon after. It seemed like their struggle would continue until one side exhausted all their energy.
Obviously, those with lower power levels would drop first. As evident by Nappa whom was starting to show signs of exhaustion.
Riddic noticed before anyone bothered to say something about it. He studied Nappa's condition for a long moment.
'He's not gonna last much longer.' The Super Saiyan concluded. 'Come on, where's my opening damn it.'
Turles seemed to notice Nappa's struggling. "What's wrong? Running out of gas?" He laughed. "Don't you worry, you can rest easy soon enough!"
The renegade Super Saiyan added a huge chunk of energy to the mix. Riddic cursed, adding a bit more energy to balance the load. He managed to avoid a huge 'bump', but it was enough of a shockwave to rattle Nappa.
The big guy closed one of his eyes, struggling to keep himself upright. Bardock let out a tisk while Vegeta gave some words of...aggressive encouragement to his bodyguard.
Turles laughed. "What a sorry sight you all are!"
"Not as sorry as you asshole!" Lea's voice shouted out, followed by the appearance of two energy blasts that exploded on the Super Saiyan's backside.
"What the hell-?!" Turles shouted, more surprised than harmed. He turned his head towards the source, glaring and flashing his teeth at the forms of Lea and Paragus. The forward was flipping Turles off with one hand and pulling the side of her mouth with the other as she stuck her tongue out.
"NOW!" Riddic screamed, throwing everything he had into his energy wave.
With a yell, Bardock and Vegeta followed his lead. Nappa threw what energy he could spare, then cut himself off with barely enough power to keep himself floating.
The boost in energy output was more then enough to break the deadlock and pierce through the distracted Turles's Calamity Blaster straight towards its caster. By the time the Super Saiyan returned his attention the spiraling wave was already on top of him.
He couldn't even put up his guard as the combined wave burnt through a section of the massive overgrown canopy and carried him away off towards the dying planet's atmosphere.
Turles screamed, both in pain and shock. "I'm...a Super Saiyan...! I've eaten the divine fruit! How can I lose like this?!"
He question remained unanswered, except by the blistering hard truth that now both carried and incinerated his body as it continued unmolested into the dark reaches of space.
The three Saiyans finally released themselves from adding anymore energy to their successful attack. Prince Vegeta wiped the sweat off his brow, glancing at Nappa whom was slowly drifting down to ground level.
Bardock took in a deep breath and let out a satisfying exhale. "Looks like we did it." He said, crossing his arms.
Riddic breathed a sigh of relief, turning his attention to his approaching mate and Paragus, both smiling as they approached.
"Thanks for the help you too." The Super Saiyan said. "That was just the opening we needed."
"Of course," Paragus bowed his head, saluting in the Saiyan fashion. "Anything to-"
"Do I get a reward for my hard work?" Lea shamelessly asked, cutting in front of Paragus as she proudly placed her hands on her hips.
Riddic chuckled, releasing his Super Saiyan form. "When we get back, I'll treat you to something real nice." He raised an eyebrow, finally noticing the burn marks on his lover. "Are you ok? That looks like it hurts a bit."
"Oh? Can't wait.~" Lea said with a wink before pulling herself in for a quick smooch on her lover's lips. "And don't worry about it. These stopped burning awhile ago. It'll come off once I get in a healing tank."
"If you say so." Riddic replied with a slight smile.
The Saiyans began to move towards their respected pods. Paragus being forced to give Nappa a shoulder by both Prince Vegeta and Lea, a task he loathed. Not cause of the task itself, but who ordered him to do it.
The silver-haired Saiyan looked one last time at the Tree of Might.
Thanks in part to Bardock, the upper canopy was quickly starting to be engulfed in flames, though that could mean falling parts of flaming greenery could start raining down on their heads at any moment.
It's a shame that this world had to die due to the malicious intentions of one man.
Perhaps, once the tree died this world will be revived. He could task some scientists to study this world and see if its restoration could be sped up at all. It would be nice seeming this world recovered from all this devastation.
For a final time, Riddic looked in the direction Turles disappeared into the stars. This had been an learning experience for the silver-haired Saiyan. Many new ideas and possibilities had been reveal to him.
The most important being that more than one Super Saiyan can exist at one time.
How this is possible, Riddic still didn't know. Regardless, he'd have plenty of time to figure it out.
For now it was time to return home.
They won.
And as winners, they will return home with glory.
Power Levels
Riddic: (Super Saiyan) 145,115,000 (Zenkai) 148,253,000
Turles: (Super Saiyan) 148,350,000
Bardock: (eating 1 FofTM) 90,000 (eating 3 FofTM) 360,000
Combined Energy Attack: 148,253,000 + 360,000 + 11,000 + 21,000 = 148,645,000
And here ends another entry to Double S!
Damn, hard to believe it's been two years huh? I'm sorry it's taken me so long, but most of that time I had to deal with events outside of my control. Especially early last year. It is what it is though.
Sides, it's like what they always say: Better late then never :D
Doesn't help that I have a schedule to work on these entries of mine like I used to but I blame that on the previously mentioned problems I dealt with. Not that we aren't all dealing with issues at this day and age.
Anyway, onto me explaining certain bits in this entry cause this stuff needs explaining.
Before I get into the meaty stuff, you can see Nappa and Prince Vegeta's relationship is different from the show. This is because the two of them aren't 'used' to being around each other quite yet. The show's relationship of the two Saiyan survivors is that of master and servant whom have known each other for over twenty years with the two barely separate from one another.
This verses where they might have known each other for a fraction of that, but directly interacting with each other for maybe a total of a year or two is a clear difference. Thus why we have clear signs of Nappa's frustration at Vegeta's rude remarks, but knows better then to outright act rashly in the face of authority. It'll eventually evolve into a relationship similar to their show counterparts however. Just a matter of time.
Speaking of time, its rare for Saiyans to ever team up during a fight outside an all out brawl or a battle where the fighters are even on both sides. Of course, this rule is hit or miss when it comes to the Z fighters but we aren't there yet hahaha.
Only during emergencies at the highest stakes were they are willing to dial down on their pride is this possible. Or you know, when you're dealing with intelligent Saiyans like Bardock.
Now of course we know Vegeta would rarely ever team up with someone in a fight, but taking a bit of an advantage that he is a kid here, we have him enthralled by the idea of helping to defeat a Super Saiyan. Something he can brag about for ages to come!
True he didn't defeat one by himself, but for the time being this is enough to satisfy him given what is known about the legendary fighter up to this point.
As we all know, this feat will be downgraded by how just about every Saiyan can become SS with the right motivational push. For now though, we let the kid have his moment haha.
Finally, I wanted to touch on the combination attack math. According to DBZ logic, or at least reasonable logic relating to the universe that makes some sort of sense, a fighter needs a measly 10% difference in power to completely dominate in a fight and barely feel anything their opponent(s) throw at them. A "smart" fighter could survive or an overconfident opponent could create an opportunity that'll allow them to be defeated or at least get inflicted with some damage. Like getting hit with a Spirit Bomb.
You see a case of a combo of a smart fighter and overconfident opponent with Vegeta's fight earlier as he was running out the clock on the fused form of Rasin and Lakasei earlier.
In between that 9% - 1% gap it boils down to technique, experience, superior speed factor, etc, etc to determine the difference between a hard fight, mostly one sided thrashing, or an even fight. All sorts of variables can decide victory or defeat regardless if one has a slightly higher power level than the other.
This is the case with the first round of fighting with the two Supers, as Turles had a faster speed factor and strength compared to Riddic before zenkai made up the difference. The main reason why Turles was physically stronger and faster then Riddic for those opening acts is due to the fact that base Turles is far stronger then base Riddic thus the Super Saiyan transformation had more stats to improve upon. Which is why Riddic got thrashed but could still keep up with it if you would.
Powers of multiple fighters don't truly combine to make any sort of difference except for energy based attacks as they literally stack ki together. That said, if you do math, even the combine power of Riddic, Bardock, Nappa, and Vegeta couldn't not overwhelm Turles outright. It became a rather challenging attack that he needed to focus on to try to at least prematurely explode or wait out some of the others to tire out so the odds would be more in his favor to push back.
Thus when his concentration was broken, much like the Kamehameha duel between Cell and Gohan, Turles was swept with the rug under his feet and it all came crashing down around him.
And now we have the news that other Saiyans can become Super Saiyans brought to light. What will Riddic and his fellow Saiyans do with this knowledge? Will Riddic finally get a chance to actually train sometime soon between his imperial duties? And what lies beyond for them now that the current threat is over?
Find out next time with the official conclusion of the Turles Saga, here on Dragon Ball Double S!
