Sorry, this chapter took so long to come out. I've been swamped with school work.

This is my first ever attempt at writing Fanfiction. Please enjoy.

Percy stared in awe at the sight before him. Arranged before him were 12 rows of tables each filled to the brim with students. Annabeth tapped his shoulder before pointing towards the opposite end of the room where another table was raised up on a dais.

"That's where we sit," she said before starting off in the direction of the table, pulling him by the wrist as she did so.

As they approached the table Percy noticed Jason waving at him from the middle seat of the table. He waved back quickly before they reached the table.

Slowly the room began to quiet as Annabeth took her seat next to the empty head of the table. She shot him a look before nodding her head and motioning to the head of the table.

The room fell into absolute silence as he approached the chair. As he pulled it out to sit the room suddenly burst into an uproar, questions shouted through the air as he sat.

"Quiet," Frank suddenly soared from the seat at the opposite end of the table. The room quickly fell back to the dead silence that had presided over the room as Percy had approached the seat he now sat in. He looked at Annabeth with a questioning look before speaking again, "this is Perseus Jackson he is Jason's new roommate therefore he sits at this table."

Suddenly a student stood, "then why is he sitting in Jacob's seat? That seat is for the dorm head, and as far as I know, there haven't been new elections." the student questioned looking at Frank.

"As you can see Octavian, there are no extra seats. Therefore I believe he should be permitted to sit there," Piper commented standing up next to frank. Percy shot her and frank looks of thanks as both she, frank and Octavian sat back down.

Next Annabeth stood and began to speak, "as you know, today is the first capture the flag game of the year," she began, "as such we have aligned ourselves with the Valhalla dorm to face off against the Nomes and Buddhist dorms," she continued, pausing for a short moment to let the information sink in before she spoke again. "Your group captains will give you more information, now suit up," she finished, the tables broke into cheers as people began to stand and file towards the sides of the room where armor lay in piles.

Percy looked to Annabeth, "what about me? Who's my leader?" he asked.

"You summarised it well before, look for the flag and beat people up while you do it," she said as she dragged him over to a pile of armor. She looked him up and down, "you know that you need armor right?" she asked with a chuckle as he watched her fit on her own gear.

"Not really," he chuckled, "I can make my skin harder than steel."

"Even so the rules say you need it," Annabeth told him.

"Oh, okay," he said before tapping the necklace to turn it into its armor form. Annabeth watched in awe as celestial bronze scales covered the form fit themselves to his body covering him from the neck down in the magic bronze.

"Is that a magic item?" she asked incredulously, as she pulled out a Yankees hat from her pocket. "This is mine," she said as she pulled it on vanishing from sight as it touched her head.

"You have an invisibility cloak?" he asked looking around.

"I do," she replied as she reappeared next to him. "Also you didn't answer my question," she noted as she moved back in front of him bending over to grab her helmet.

"Oh, yeah, my armor is Atlantean, it was part of a gift that my father gave me after I killed my first monster. The other part is my sword," he said, feeling the pen he had placed in his pocket.

"Is your father Poseidon?" Annabeth asked.

"Yeah" he replied, "I've heard that the gods aren't usually present but he tries, which is nice," he chuckled.

"Well, that should make us rivals, but I don't really care about that," she laughed.

"What do you mean," he replied as he absentmindedly thought that her laugh was the prettiest thing he had ever heard.

"My mother is Athena."

"Oh," he chuckled, "but why would that make us rivals?" he asked stupidly.

"Well thousands of years ago they had an argument over who would sponsor Athens and they have hated each other since don't you know any history?" she replied.

"Nah, I'm not really good with books. Oh, hey pinecone face" he said, changing the subject.

"Why don't you have a sword kelp head?" she asked, looking between him and Annabeth.

"I do," he replied, pulling out the bronze ballpoint from his pocket."

"That is a pen," she scoffed.

"No it's not," he replied calmly, pulling off the cap and watching the sword spring to full length as Thalia's jaw dropped.

"Damn that's cool," came Leo's voice from next to him causing him to jump. "So Anna, what's Percy over here gonna be doing?" he asked, turning to the person in question.

"He's gonna go solo runner," she replied. As the rest of the group joined them. "You know the plan, go debrief your teams. Good luck everybody," she said, breaking down the group.

"So where do I go?" Percy asked Annabeth as he watched students group up as their captains called them to explain the plan.

"I don't know your strengths or weaknesses so I can't give you exact instructions,'' she said as she walked with him to the only group remaining captainless. She looked over the group before pointing to Octavian, "you are the senior-most solo runner, you guys are gonna be moving in theta formation today," she instructed him.

"What about him?" Octavian asked, pointing to Percy.

"Percy doesn't know any formations and I don't yet know the best place to put him so he will move on his own. Also, please explain the rules of capture to him," she replied.

"So like every new student," he said nodding.

"Yes," she replied before nodding back to Percy and headed off back towards the head table.

Octavian turned back to the group, "you know the drill," he said, watching them disperse before turning back to Percy. "So you don't know the rules?" he asked.

"I mean it captures the flag, how hard can the rules be," Percy replied.

"That's what I thought at first as well," Octavian chuckled. "In essence, it is the same though I guess. The main difference however is that you can kill people," he continued.

Percy's eyes widened, "what-"

"Not like that, there is an ancient piece of magic on the campus that simply respawns you in a weakened state when killed for lack of a better term, so don't worry," he said, noticing Percy's shock."

"Oh thank god," Percy sighed in relief. "So what's this capture rule that Annabeth asked you to explain?" he asked.

"Oh, the capture rule states that the person who captures the flag cannot hand the flag over to another person. Basically, you grab the flag and only you can bring it back over the boundary line," Octavian explained, as he began walking in the direction of the doors that the rest of the groups had begun moving towards as he had spoken.

Percy quickly followed suit walking next to Octavian as they passed through the doors. The room behind was filled with rows of stones, each stone with a circle around it and most had one or two students surrounding them.

"You go to boundary five," Octavian said pointing to one of the stones that had nobody around it.

Percy nodded, "what are the stones?" he asked before he walked off.

"The stones are actually teleportation stones, they'll take you to where you want to go on the battlefield," he explained. "Catch you later'" he said before turning and heading towards a different stone.

"Thanks," Percy called, turning back to the stone Octavian had pointed to and walking over. As he stepped into the circle marked around the stone it began to glow brightly in front of him. Percy felt a small rush of wind brush past as he covered his eyes from the light.

When the light finally faded, Percy uncovered his eyes and took in his surroundings. In front of him was a large river maybe twenty feet from side to side, to his left was a bridge over the said river, and to his right and behind him was the edge of a forest. Looking at the river Percy could see a small creek branching off into the forest on the other side of the bridge.

Suddenly Percy heard a booming voice speak, "good evening teams, you know the rules, the river serves as the boundary, fight to the best of your ability, may luck be on your side, let the game begin" it said.

Percy just stood there, suddenly he heard shouts from the other side of the river.

"Look, there's an enemy," came the shout as he looked around finding the person speaking pointing a strangely shaped sword at him from the bridge. On pure instinct, Percy jumped into the river.

As his underwater senses kicked in he scanned the enemies on the bridge, they were all laughing, and although his lip reading wasn't great he was still pretty sure one said, "well that's one less enemy."

Gritting his teeth Percy focused his power underneath himself building up water pressure beneath his feet releasing it to launch himself out of the water with practiced ease.

"What-," came the voice of one of the opposing warriors as Percy landed on the bridge riptide cutting him in half before he could even finish the thought.

"For Ra," one of the remaining fighters, a warrior, shouted, swinging his own weirdly shaped sword in a slash that Percy deflected with ease before willing the water of the river to wash the fighter and the remainder of his teammates off the bridge. Percy ran off into the forest as quickly as he could following the creek deeper into enemy territory until he heard voices in the trees to the left.

"Do you think they really won't find the flag here?" the first voice asked.

"Of course not, I know that Annabeth knows that I would think of this so I did it anyway. Besides Sadie even if a straggler somehow finds us there are more than enough of us to take care of them," came a second voice that Percy immediately recognized.

Another voice joined in, "Carters right you know Sadie." "Isn't that right stranger?" the third person added after a moment.

"You have great senses, my friend," Percy chuckled as he walked through the tight line of trees. "Sadly, in this case, Carter is wrong."

"Shit," Carter cursed.

Taking in the clearing Percy saw the flag leaning on the furthest tree from him, a platoon of magicians and warriors stood weapons ready between him and the tree.

"Well, that sucks," Percy muttered as a light on his coms turned on and the coms unit Annabeth had handed him started to beep.

"Who the hell are you?" a blonde demanded pointing her staff at his chest, as he dropped and stomped the beeping com unit.

"I'm Percy," he grinned, "I see Carter hasn't told you of me," he chuckled.

"No I have, she just didn't believe me," Carter spoke up.

"What are you talking about?" Sadie questioned.

"Miami," Carter replied before looking Percy dead on. "Please forgive me, man,'' he said before he raised his hand.

"What do you mean," Percy asked as Carter brought his hand down and the platoon that had surrounded him attacked.

Swinging faster than the eye could see, Percy brought his sword up to block the first attack that was slashing towards his chest simultaneously dancing away from the sword that swung towards his legs.

Dancing around Percy went from magician to warrior with efficiency calling on the creek water to help him generate a miniature hurricane as he destroyed the platoon guarding the flag.

In less than a minute the only remaining warriors were Carter and Sadie.

"So you really were telling the truth about the hurricane man," she said, turning to Carter in surprise.

"Why would I joke about that?" he asked as Percy moved his hurricane towards them.

Sadie shrugged before putting her hand out to Percy, winking at Carter as she did. "You go us good, you deserve the flag,'' she said," her hand in between them.

Percy chuckled before walking past her, "Carter tried the same thing on me when we first met, I won't be falling for that again" he said as he grabbed the flag. As he grabbed the flag he turned to Carter, "maybe we could catch up tomorrow?" Percy asked.

"Sounds great," Carter replied, "I'll find you after class is over tomorrow."

"Awesome," Percy smiled before turning back towards the creek and following it back to the river slaughtering every enemy in his way. As he reached the river he saw Annabeth on the other side arguing with Octavian and Thalia.

"Octavian we have no idea where Percy is and we called for a regroup 20 minutes ago when they almost got the flag," Annabeth yelled.

"Calm down Annie, kelp heads probably fine, he might have not heard the call," Thalia reasoned.

"Yeah, but I sent him here because I thought that this was an easy place to get back to if someone called for a regroup," Octavian said, "Which just means that he probably lost his coms or didn't understand the beeping."

Percy slipped through the water as fast as he could. "Actually, I decided to ignore the coms," he interrupted as he emerged from the water.

"Oh thank god your-," Annabeth began before she was cut off by the same booming voice that had started the game.

"The blue team has captured the red team's flag and as a result has one the game," it declared.

"What the-" Thalia exclaimed, in shock.

"Oh yeah, I forgot that I was carrying this," Percy shrugged as he handed the flag over to Annabeth.

"You? How? Where the hell was the flag," she stuttered.

"Yes, I'm awesome, down the creek protected by carter Sadie and a whole platoon of magicians and other warriors that I beat myself," he smirked.

"you took out a platoon of fighters," Thalia asked in shock.

Percy nodded, "yeah I can do this thing where I can summon miniature hurricanes it makes it kind if easy to win if your opponents can't take a step without being blown away," he chuckled.

Octavian's mouth was hanging open as he stared at Percy in shock. "I was gonna vote for Jason but I changed my mind. When it's time to vote dorm head you have my vote," he finally said after a moment.

"So who got the flag," came Leo's voice, cutting the tension like a knife through butter.

The four jumped.

"Shit Leo," Annabeth cursed, turning to the short Latino, "how many times do we have to tell you to stop sneaking up on people?"

Leo shrugged, "so who got the flag?" he asked again.

Thalia looked at him, "Percy got it," she said after a moment.

Surprise crossed his face for a moment before he chuckled. "I suppose that makes sense," he laughed, Chiron and Lupa wouldn't have put him in on the twelfth floor if he wasn't as strong-."

"No you don't understand," Annabeth interrupted.

"What do you mean you don't understand?" Leo asked.

"He took out an entire platoon on his own," Thalia explained.

"He. What?" Leo stammered at a genuine loss for words.

"My strength isn't that great, now let's go party. After all, we won the first game of the year," Percy smiled, breaking them out of their stupor.

"Percy's right, as confused as I am, let's go party," Leo exclaimed.

"Yeah, let's go," Thalia added after a moment.

Annabeth sighed and shot him a look that told him this was not over before speaking as well, "I suppose we should get to the party and make sure Magnus and his friends don't destroy the venue."
