Cody had just lain down to enjoy the sunset on the sandy beach. But she has an unexpected visitor.
Cody loved the beach. The soft sand to her toes, how she sank restfully into it. She could hear the waves crashing to shore not very far away. It made her feel calm.
"Cody!" A voice said from behind her.
"Aww crap. I know that voice." She said to herself. "Hey Rick."
"Hey, whatcha doing out here?"
"It kind of looks like I'm enjoying the sunset." She said sarcastically.
"Can I join you?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"Nope!" He joked.
They had a few moments of silence until Cody spoke up.
"Beautiful sunset isn't it?"
"Yep, like you." He said while turning to her.
"Aww, Rick." She said with a smile. "That was really sweet of you."
"I'm just telling the truth."
Cody reached over and kissed him on the cheek.
"Uhh..thanks." He said touching his cheek.
"You're welcome." Cody said smiling.
And again, more silence.
Rick reached over and put his arm around Cody. Now usually, Cody would move away, but she didn't this time. I guess you can say, since her break-up with Squib, she was going for other guys. Guys you wouldn't think she would go for.
The air was becoming cold. Cody felt chills all over her body and snuggled up to Rick. She looked up at him who was staring into the sunset.
"Umm so Cody?"
"Yes Rick? She replied.
"Wanna go steady?"
Cody said nothing for a few seconds and then looked up at him again.
"Sure." She said and reached up to kiss him.
