Deep Dive
Throw caution into the wind,
And feel yourself be swept away.
Before I had thought that there was nothing more that I dreamed of
Then to go where the wind took me.
To new places.
To new worlds.
Anywhere but here.
But I had forgotten what was most important to me.
Friendship.
What used to be my greatest treasure.
But even treasure can be eclipsed by desire
If contained for too long.
I found myself longing for freedom.
To leave this world I called home and see new places.
The desire consumed me.
Filled me with lust.
Greed.
And soon I had forgotten
The two that had stood beside me.
To this day I wish I had chosen a different path.
To this day I wish I had remembered what I had been given.
To this day I wish I hadn't cast it aside
For desire.
I let the darkness take me.
It promised me freedom,
But it left me in chains.
The light that I had cast aside
Where two old friends
That left everything to find me.
Save me.
And as I watch them now
I see that I have abandoned them.
Thrown myself into the wind.
Left them for my false and empty dreams
That had consumed me in the end.
