I apologize for the wait guys! Been pretty chaotic lately. Anyways, I'm rewriting the end of this story or adding a couple chapters or something. At any rate, here's another chapter! I might upload a few more tonight. All depends on my motivation.

Voices. Far off and distant ones. Just a soft murmur that is almost inaudible. Just a quiet lull that slowly brings you out of complete and total blackness of sleep to full wakefulness. It's a peaceful way to wake up when combined with the soft racket that is only made by people trying to be as quiet as possible. It's a beautiful sound to hear laughter that is barely contained. Gentle rain pitter-pattering on the roof seals the entire cacophony of noises, almost enough to lull me back to sleep, but now I'm not quite tired enough for that.

As I gain consciousness, I quickly realize that Jacob's breathing doesn't correlate with his even and deep breaths he has when he's asleep. That and he isn't snoring, albeit quietly.

I open my eyes and look over at Jacob, who is gazing at me. I'm lying in his arms, so I guess he's got every right to stare.

"Morning." I say with a grin.

Jacob smirks. "Morning."

I lie back down, snuggling against his chest, loving the feeling of lying in his embrace. "What time is it?"

"Ah. Sometime after eight?" He offers. "Not really sure."

I yawn tiredly before flinching at my morning breath. "Yeah. Must've been really tired.

"After last night I think we all were." Jacob mutters.

I shake my head. "Can't believe Mara actually thought Kensi would go with her, especially if she knew Kensi was an imprint."

"Kensi didn't know she was an imprint until then." Jacob points out.

I laugh. "If you think that you're incorrect. Kensi is wicked sharp about this. I'm sure she knew she was an imprint from day one. I bet she's got it figured out, just doesn't want to steal his headline."

Jacob smiles. "Putting it like that… that's just adorable."

I giggle softly as Jacob breathes against my hair sending pleasant shivers down my spine. How long have I known him? A week? But I remember approximately one day of that week.

"This feels really fast." I whisper against his neck. "I know you've known me for a week, but I only remember one day of that week."

Jacob looks down. "If I remember correctly, you're the one who invited me up onto your bed."

I smile bashfully. "I'm not saying it's bad. If you were dangerous you would've done something to me while I was defenseless. Besides, werewolves are honored members of any society anywhere. They're almost always made out to be the good guys."

Jacob smirks. "Paul is the one instance where they aren't."

I snort humorlessly. "Paul. Can't believe he didn't tell us that he had a kid. I know it happened a week ago, and by that time frame I should be way over it by now, but I've only had one night to think about it."

Jacob shakes his head. "I've thought about it all week and I'm not over it. I can't believe he lied to my sister like that. Embry is on the road to forgiving Paul, but that's because Embry runs patrol with Paul and knows how guilty Paul is for kicking you out."

I scoff.

"Rachel really changed him." Jacob mutters. "I remember everyone hated patrol with Paul because of his womanizing thoughts. Embry especially. He's always held women in such a high regard after taking care of his mother for so long. She raised him well."

I listen to Jake's voice, and intently as he talks about my sister's soulmate. "Embry has had the longest temper of all of us. He had the best control of his phasing right off the bat, and he's a natural. But if there was one thing that could make him phase on the fly out of anger, it was Paul recounting his womanizing ways. It pissed Embry off."

Dani sighs. "Wonder if Embry knew more about what Paul did to us than he let on."

"No one figured out through the pack mind." Jacob says, shaking his head.

I shrug. "He knew Kensi after he saved her ass, he might've known about her home life."

Jacob nods. "He did. He'd liked Kensi for a while, but after not seeing her for a while I guess he forgot and moved on finally."

"Moved on? How badly did he have it for her?" I ask, keeping my voice low. I can hear him and Kensi in the kitchen and don't want him to hear us talking about him.

"Like me and Bella bad before she got married." Jake muses quietly. "There's no telling what he did and didn't know."

"I bet it will all come to the light of day sooner or later." I mutter.

My bedroom door bangs open wide, slamming against the wall. Kensi pours into the room.

"Good morning!" She crows. She skips a few steps through my bedroom. She stands at the foot of my bed with a shit-eating grin on her face. Embry stands in the doorway, arms resting against the door frame, and occupying the entire door frame with his imposing form. There's a soft smile on his face as he watches his imprint with adoration in his brown eyes.

"Can I help you?" I ask, looking at Kensi, flipping onto my back, which there is barely room to do on the small bed.

"How did you sleep?" Kensi asks in a playful and energetic voice. She's bouncing with excitement, her eyes are sparkling. It's times like these when Kensi is undeniably the prettier, hotter, and more beautiful twin.

I furrow my eyebrows at her. "Fine? Why?"

"Did you sleep?" Kensi asks. "Because I could've sworn- Embry, did you hear something?"

Embry smirks. "Of course, of course. I don't know what-"

"Could it have been…" Kensi looks at Embry and they share a suggestive look. "I don't know…?"

Kensi grabs my ankle and very rudely intrudes my brain with crude and very immature imagines.

"KENSI!" I cry covering my eyes as if that's going to get the images out of my head.

Kensi laughs, leaping onto my bed and squeezing between me and Jake. "So. Mom and Dad." Kensi teases. "What's for breakfast?"

I wonder briefly what has gotten into my sister.

I grab her wrist. Did you get banged or something? Why are you so active this early? And why are you so chipper?

"Gross!" Kensi growls rolling over me and onto the floor. She gracefully lands on her feet and straightens. "Oh come on, Dani."

"Is that not what you did with me? I mean you projected your perverted thoughts on me, why couldn't I?" I tease watching the blush ignite her cheeks.

"I made breakfast, by the way. Get your asses in here before Embry and I eat it all." Kensi says. She ducks under Embry's arm, dancing between the small gap between his body and the doorframe. She brushes his body and I watch as he tenses.

Jake snorts into his shoulder. "Dude. Does she know?" He whispers quietly.

Embry glares before leaving without offering us an answer.

"Going to air on the side of 'no, no she does not." I mutter to Jake.

"No shit." Jacob says as I get up. I pull my shorts down from between my legs and throw my hair up into a messy bun as I walk out of my bedroom. My bare feet seem to freeze to the icy laminate floor. I unstick the long sleeve shirt I slept in from my stomach as I walk into the kitchen. The aroma of pancakes and bacon fill my nose as I inhale.

"Do both of the twins cook this well?" Jake teases from behind me.

"Well you know, when our mother was too busy being drunk and Paul was too busy doing other girls, someone had to make sure no one went hungry." Kensi smirks.

"Hey Kens, do you have orange juice or something?" Embry asks.

"Yeah. There's concentrate in the fridge if you want to make some." Kensi offers as she fries bacon.

The stove being right next to the fridge where Embry is looking for the orange juice concentrate gives me an idea.

I wink at Jake, before walking over to stand beside Kensi at the stove. "Smells delicious sis."

I flick my fingers at the fire, twisting them up higher and higher, until they lick at her arms.

Kensi yelps in surprise, jumping away from the stove and backwards into Embry.

He doesn't budge despite the force she hit him with. Embry just glances over at my sister slightly confused. Kensi shudders and scratches at her arms.

"You know I hate that!" Kensi cries while I double over laughing.

She turns around and hits me with the tongs she was using to fry bacon with. Twice. Hard.

She shudders again.

"Did it hurt or something?" Embry asks, slightly concerned.

"No." Kensi says. "It's just…"

"She's ticklish." I say in a singsong voice. "Very ticklish. Flames, when you know, you're fireproof, they're like dragging a feather over your ribs."

"Doesn't sound very thrilling." Embry mutters with a smirk directed at Kensi.

She smirks at the stove before reaching out and dragging her index finger over Embry's skin on his side.

"Damn." He mutters barely able to conceal a shiver. However I'm sure he shivered because Kensi touched him. Intimately touched him. I wouldn't have the balls to touch Jake like that.

Just another way Kensi and I are different. She's so bold!
