"Mija, I got some tamales for dinner!"

"COMING."

Little Luz came rushing down from her room to her mother Camila. The cute 5-year-old girl was an absolute hurricane of a kid, but she was the best thing to have ever happened to Camila.

They were happily eating dinner that night. Luz was endlessly talking about anything and everything that happened in her day, and Camila just listened like he usually did. It was a normal day…

It was a normal day, until Luz said something odd.

"-And then I fell, but I was fine! And we all laughed, and the bell ringed and we went back to class! I saw Dad outside the class for a bit, and then-"

"What?"

"Huh?"

"What was that mija? You saw your … dad?"

"Yeah! He visits me and we play and talk!"

Camila did not know what to say…

Luz had never met her father.

Hell, Camila herself barely knew the Guy, they dated for maybe a month before the guy disappeared and left her pregnant (Dick). But then Luz kept talking.

"Sometimes he makes me feel better when I have a bad day. And he stops bad things from happening, like the time he moved me when a ball was going to hit me in the face or when-"

"Mija"

"Hmm?"

"Have you been talking to some man that walks up to you?"

"…Well… he doesn't walk, really. He is just there sometimes."

At this point, Camila's mind was desperately trying to think of a reasonable way to explain this to herself. She then realized that her hyperactive and imaginative daughter probably made an imaginary friend for herself.

Poor girl, Camila knew the other kids in school picked on her a lot, and not having a father was probably getting to the little girl. She probably made it all up to make herself feel better.

She probably made up someone that would be there whenever she felt bad, to pretend like she had someone that would take care of her when she felt alone.

Camila started to feel guilty about the long hours she pulled at the clinic.

But she had an idea.

"Sweety, I think that was your guardian angel!"

"*GASP* A GUARDIAN ANGEL?! WHAT IS THAT?!"

"Well you see cariño, angels are these very nice people that serve God and do good things in the world. We all have guardian angels that protect us and take care of us"

Camila's catholic upbringing taught her a lot of good things to say to Luz for these kinds of situations take place. And a lot of kids in their community were from catholic families just like they were. It was easier for her to say that she had a guardian angel, since every other kid would probably be told the same by their parents. A lot of issues avoided.

"WOW! THAT'S SO COOL! I HAVE A GUARDIAN ANGEL! I HAVE A GUARDIAN ANGEL!-"

Luz looked so excited to hear about this that she started bouncing all over the place. Camila already knew that putting her to bed was going to be difficult (as usual).

They picked up their plates, washed their teeth and moved to Luz's room to get her in bed.

As Camila walked out of the room, she failed to hear her daughter mutter something as she was falling asleep.

Perhaps a lot could have been avoided had she been listening

...

"I thought angels were white. But red angels are cool, too"

The police were surrounding the school.

Dozens of parents were at the school gate, which was blockaded by police officers. Who refused to give any details.

Camila was there as well, worried and scared for her daughter.

No one knows what happened. Out of nowhere, screams could be heard coming from the gymnasium, and by now several children had gone missing. A couple of teachers had gone in to investigate, and they were never seen again as well. It seemed like no one who went in that building managed to come out. The police were called and they arrived shortly. 3 officers walked in the building, but just like everyone else that went inside, they were never heard from again.

Aside from officer Margot Jenkins, a rookie in training that was still in the academy and was shadowing her elders that day.

When she came out, she was talking pure gibberish. When asked about the kids, the teachers or the other officers, her responses were incomprehensible.

However, when Camila barged through the crowd and asked about her daughter, officer Jenkins seemed to miraculously spring back to her senses just to say one thing before falling back into an incoherent mess.

"She's fine"

Despite the protests of the parents, the police refused to send more people in without knowing just what the hell was going on in there.

And one of the officers present had a bit of a better idea of what was happening than he led to believe. As he made a secret phone call to the people that were clearly best suited to deal with this kind of strange instances. Or as they are more accurately known: Anomalies.

After a couple of hours of nothing being done, the parents were growing even more restless and exasperated.

It was then that a mysterious heavily armored vehicle parked in front of the school, and a number of heavily armed individuals stepped out and headed towards the school.

Camila watched as these strange individuals went to talk with the police officer that had called them, and managed to overhear their conversation.

"Good evening sir! Field agent Maclaren, undercover at the Massachusetts Police station!"

The words of the man talking to him were inaudible from her position.

But upon looking at the bizarre group closer, she noticed a number of things.

First was the bizarre symbol that these people had in their uniforms: A circle within a circle that had 3 arrows pointed at the center. And second, was the two characters that seemed to stand out from everyone else. For one, they didn't seem to be heavily armed like the others. One was wearing a lab coat with the symbol in the front, and he also had a bizarre necklace, ornamented with gold and a massive oval shaped gem in the center. The other has completely covered by dark clothes, all the way down to a black hoodie, mask and thick glasses that made it impossible to discern any features of his face whatsoever. He even wore black gloves.

"Right this way, sir. The entity seems to be located in the school gymnasium. So far 5 children, 3 teachers and 2 police officers have been lost. A third officer managed to return, but she has been unresponsive so far. The only response we got from her was when a mother asked for the safety of her daughter, affirming her safety. The mother in question is Camila Noceda, and the child is Luz Noceda. So far, no one else that has entered has managed to safely exit the building. Their current locations and status is unkown."

The group then entered the school.

Luz read the note on the file once more:

[Following the events of Incident 6124-A, the subject is to be placed under constant observation by the foundation for the purposes of analysis and in order to avoid another incident. This may be one of the most important breakthroughs the foundation has ever had since its conception. A containment breach is beyond unacceptable. Anyone who is found to be negligent in their duties containing SCP-6124 faces threat of immediate termination. Allow me to reiterate: SCP-6124 may be but a young girl, and you are not wrong in thinking that she does not deserve this kind of treatment, but until it is proved unnecessary, she is to be contained under the maximum security possible. The implications and risks involved with her anomaly are simply too great to ignore. You must remember that we do what we must, no matter what. {O5-4}]

Luz closed the file, looking solemnly at the title on the cover:
