Chapter 4: Man of Mystery
"Mobius, take out his Power Dart Striker!"
Sylvio's cronie could only watch in his horror as his machine was frozen before smashing to bits, wiping out his life points.
Crony #1: 0000
"Way to go, Sylvio!"
"A perfect win!"
Sylvio flipped his air arrogantly.
"But of course! After all, I am the best, the greatest, the awesomest, and most of all, the best dressed!"
"Too true!"
Just then, the doors to their warehouse hangout flung open. In walked a masked man, proud and silent.
"Hey, what's the big idea! Don't you know its rude to barge in like that?"
The mystery man said nothing, only pointing at Sylvio and raising his duel disk.
"You want to duel Sylvio? Is this a joke?"
"Yeah, he'll cream you before you get two turns in."
"Now now, don't be so rude. If he wants to duel me, then I accept. Of course, it won't be a very long duel, but-"
"Hurry up and duel already."
"Oh, so you do talk. Well then, Mr. Mystery, let's duel!"
DUEL!

Sylvio: 4000
"I'll go first. I set five cards face down and end my turn."
Sylvio burst out laughing at his opponent's lackluster play.
"Five cards and not a single monster! Oh, that is rich. Let me show you how a real duelist plays the game. First, since you have two or more spell or trap cards, I can special summon my Escher the Frost Vassal (800/100) straight to the field! Next, I sacrifice my Vassal to summon his master, Mobius the Frost Monarch (2400/1000)!"
A giant king made out of ice stomped onto the field, creating large gusts of icy wind.
"And when my Frost Monarch hits the field, two of your spell and trap cards hit the graveyard, so say goodbye to the ones on the ends!"
The king brought his hands together, creating miniature storm of snow and ice before releasing it, freezing over said face downs before they shattered. Sylvio's cronies shivered slighty, before realizing something.
"Hey guys, did that feel...real to you?"
"Yeah, like this was an action duel!"
"But...there's no arc system in here."
Despite this oddity, Sylvio continued his turn.
"And don't think I'm done yet, because I activate the spell card Double Summon! Now I can normal summon again! I tribute Mobius the Frost Monarch to summon Mobius the Mega Monarch (2800/1000)!"
Mobius encased himself in ice, forming a solid barrier around himself. Then the ice shattered, revealing a larger and more impressive form of himself.
"Now, I know what you're thinking, and normally I would require a second tribute. But since regular Mobius was tribute summoned before I summoned the Mega Monarch, he counts as two tributes!"
"Brilliant move!"
"You go, Sylvio!"
Sylvio took a bow before returning to the duel.
"And like his lesser form, my Mega Monarch can destroy spell and trap cards, except this time he can destroy three, like your remaining backrow! And don't even think of using them, because when he's tribute summoned by using a water monster, none of them can be activated in response!"
Sylvio's opponent stared silently as the massive ice storm destroyed his last line of defense. Or so Sylvio thought...
"Now Mobius, attack Mr. Mystery directly!"
"I activate three trap cards from my graveyard, The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil!"
"What? From the graveyard?"
"When you attack me directly, I can special summon them from the graveyard as level 4 monsters (0/300 X3). So my life points are safe."
Three ghostly horsemen appeared on the field, one of them taking the full force of the attack, much to Sylvio's annoyance.
"When my Shadow Veil leaves the field as a monster, it is banished."
"So you managed to save yourself. I set one card face down and end my turn."
"Prepare yourself, because with these two monsters I build the overlay network and Xyz Summon! Rise up, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon (2500/2000)!"
A large, shadowy dragon emerged from the portal, causing tremors throughout the building with its massive roar, causing Sylvio's cronies to duck for cover.
"Ah man! That thing is huge!"
"I thought only top level LDS Students studied Xyz Summoning?!"
"I want my mommy!"
Sylvio sighed in annoyance.
"Relax, you three. He may have summoned an admittedly impressive dragon, but my Mobius still has more attack points."
"Then its a good thing my Dragon has a special ability. By detaching two overlay units, I can cut your Mobius's attack points in half and give them to Dark Rebellion."
"What?!"
"Go, Treason Discharge!"
Sylvio could only watch in horror as the black dragon shot out bolts of lightning from its wings, sapping Mobius of his strength while increasing its own (2800-1400) (2500-3900).
"Now Dark Rebellion, destroy Mobius with Mauling Mandible Discharge!"
The Dragon's jaw glowed a dark purple, pulsing with dark energy as it rammed into the weakened monarch, destroying it and causing the celling to crack.
Sylvio: 1500
"I activate the trap card, Ice Rage! Now since it destroyed an Aqua type monster, your Xyz Monster gets destroyed and you take damage equal to its attack! Your life points are about to take a major hit!"
"No, they won't. From my graveyard, I activate the spell card Phantom Knights' Spear from my graveyard. By banishing it, I can negate and destroy your trap card."
Sylvio clenched his teeth as the spear rammed his trap card, smashing it to pixels.
"I end my turn with one card face down. Now tell me, what is your affiliation with Duel Academy?"
"Duel Academy? What on earth are you talking about?"
"Don't play dumb! That pin on your jacket proves you are with them!"
"What, this? This is part of the LDS uniform. Every student has to wear it."
Realizing he wasn't going to get the answers he wanted, the mystery duelist turned to leave, much to Sylvio's fury.
"Hey, the duel's not over yet! By discarding Treeborn frog, I can special summon Swap Frog from my hand (1000/500). Next, I tribute him to summon Raiza the Storm Monarch (2400/1000) in attack mode! And when my Storm Monarch is tribute summoned, I can return one card on your field to the top of your deck, so say goodbye to Dark Rebellion!"
"I activate Forbidden Chain. This not only negates your Raiza's effect, but prevents it from attacking."
"Oh come on! I end my turn with one card face down."
If he attacks, my Magic Cylinder will stop him dead in his tracks. And next turn, I can trade Raiza in for his Mega Monarch and get rid of his Dragon once and for all. No matter what, I'll win next turn!"
"This duel is over. I activate Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your Face down card. Now Dark Rebellion, end this duel!"
Sylvio could only watch in horror as his chained up king was electrocuted to death, the blowback sending him flying into a wall.
"Sylvio!"
Sylvio: 0000
Unknown wins!
Sylvio grunted in pain as his opponent left.
"Who...who are you?"
"Who I am is of no concern. But let The Professor know that he will pay for all that he's done."
