I got into Demon Slayer recently, so I wanted to try out making something for it, despite my lack of remembrance of all of the moves, but that's what the internet is for!

Also, I want to write more fluff and this was my chance.

Chapter 1

Becoming the Master (Involuntarily)

Blood.

Tanjiro Kamado panicked as he broke out into a run, heading straight for his house, which is where he smelt the ironed taste of blood thanks to his strong sense of smell. As he arrived at his house, he was met with a horrific sight.

The sight of all of his family murdered, and a strong smell of their blood filled his nose as he started coughing from being overwhelmed by it.

"They can't be dead…" Tanjiro mumbled as he began walking to try and see if anyone survived, before he noticed a smell that smelt so foreign to him, that it froze him from how evil it smelt. How was this possible?

Tanjiro was brought back to reality as he looked at the corpse of his younger sisters Rokuta and Nezuko, and he saw that Nezuko was still alive and breathing. He immediately grabbed Nezuko, before looking at the rest of his family, walking around and trying to see if any others were alive.

But to his still increasing anger and depression, they were all dead…

Except Nezuko.

"I'll get you help Nezuko!" Tanjiro said to her, despite the fact she was unconscious. He began to run down the mountain as best as he could with her, but making sure to not let her bleed out too much.

As he ran, so many thoughts filled his mind. 'Who did this?!' Tanjiro thought. 'Why?! Why kill such an innocent family?!' Tanjiro was subconsciously trembling in a hidden rage that made his mind flair with violent thoughts all of a sudden. 'I'm going to find the person who did this, and I'm going to make them pay tenfold for this!' He began growling, which made him fail to notice that Nezuko had regained consciousness, and had leaned back and began growling before shaking, which made Tanjiro lose his balance and they both fell off a cliff, Tanjiro letting go of her as a result as he fell into the snow.

'The snow saved me!' He thought before standing up quickly and looking around for Nezuko. "NEZUKO!" Tanjiro shouted, looking for his sister, before seeing her standing up. His eyes brightened before he realized she was still bleeding. "Nezuko!" He said, before running to her. "You shouldn't be standing! You're heavily injured! Let me carry you right now, we need to get you treated!" Tanjiro was met with a shock as Nezuko suddenly lunged at him, and he saw she had fangs and that she was about to bite him. He pulled out his hatchet and forced it into her mouth so she didn't bite him, but it cost him the chance to push her away, as she pushed him to the ground and pinned him.

'Crap! She's pinned me!' He thought.

She was clearly aiming to bite him based off of how she kept her teeth barred like that of a dog, and she kept him pinned down so he couldn't escape. And this was scaring him more than he thought.

'What is wrong with her?! Doesn't she know this is me?! Her big brother?!' Tanjiro questioned in his mind. 'Is she turning into a demon?! Those things that grandma and the old man said existed?!'

"NEZUKO!" He shouted at her. "Please! You need to stop! Don't you recognize me?!" He asked.

Nezuko paid him no mind before suddenly she grew in size, and she began to overpower him. 'What?! Is she actually a demon?! Is this what makes demons dangerous?!' Tanjiro thought as he tried to stop her. "NEZUKO! STOP! PLEASE!" And just like that she stopped, and stared at him with blank eyes as he pushed her off of him. He looked at her in shock before holding. "What just happened?! Are you sick?! Nezuko! Are you okay?!"

"I am fine," she said as he took the hatchet out of her mouth. "I'm not sick… and I am not hurt…" Tanjiro sighed in relief before she said, "Master." This made him pause.

What did she just call him?

Master?

Is she daydreaming?

"Um… Nezuko, I'm your brother, not your master," he told her.

"I know master," Nezuko said, which made Tanjiro scared.

"Don't call me that Nezuko!" He told her.

"Then what should I call you?" She asked, and he took note of the still blank look she gave him. Her eyes even seemed blank.

"You call me by my name! Tanjiro!"

"Okay Tanjiro," she said, before suddenly her eyes widened before she grabbed him and they rolled out of the way, and Tanjiro caught the glimpse of a man with a sword. When they stopped rolling, Tanjiro sat up and looked at where they were. There was now a man with long black hair, with a black katana, and he looked at them with a blank look.

"I recommend you hand over the demon," the man said, confirming Tanjiro's thoughts that Nezuko was now a demon.

"No, she's my sister! And she's not a demon! She's a human! And she hasn't hurt anyone!" Tanjiro argued, before picking up his hatchet and he held his arm out, telling Nezuko to stay behind him. "And I will not let you hurt the last member of my family!"

"Kid, it's my job to rid the world of demons," the man replied. "And what happens when she does hurt someone? What will you do?"

"Well she won't hurt anyone! I'll make sure of that!" Tanjiro said. "Isn't that right Nezuko?" He asked his sister, looking at her.

"I won't hurt anyone unless Master Tanjiro orders me to," Nezuko said.

"It's just Tanjiro! I'm not your master, I am your brother!" Tanjiro shouted at her. He looked at the man, who looked a bit shocked, but not enough for it to seem more than surprised about what his sister said. But the man was even more surprised than he let on.

'Is… Is this what you were talking about Master Urokodaki?' The man thought. 'Did he tame his sister?! And is this the reincarnation of the Demon Tamer?!'

A Long Time Ago

"Master, what is it that you wished to talk to me about?" A younger Giyu asked his master, Sakonji Urokodaki, who was still wearing his Tengu mask.

"There is a story I wish to share with you. A very impressive story that we hope will repeat itself in a generation of Demon Slayers," the trainer said. "You see… a while ago, back when I was still a Demon Slayer, there was a man I had come across, much older than I am. He was a Demon Slayer like me and the many other people you will meet as you live your years as a Demon Slayer. But, when I saw him about to kill a demon, I heard him give the demon a choice…

"He said, 'Tell me, do you wish to live and be free of Muzan Kibutsuji's Curse, or die and go to heaven or hell?' The demon wished to live, as it begged. The man had asked it's name, and then I found out one thing… There was a cure for demons… A cure that has been dead for a while now sadly," Urokodaki finished.

"There is a cure for demons?" Giyu questioned, surprised a bit.

"This doesn't make them human, but it stops them from feasting on humans, and makes them a bit more human," Urokodaki answered. "The man had told me that by him taming them, he rids them of their weakness of the sun, and their need to feast on humans, and instead, they can eat normal food. He also can use their Blood Demon Art to a much weaker extent." Urokodaki's tone turned a bit sad as he then said, "However, the man had died a few years ago… The demons are still alive though, but they don't feast on humans still… They miss him though. A lot, and search everyday for his reincarnation."

"Giyu, if you ever see a man or woman trying to stop a demon, and they can control it, please, spare them. But otherwise, slaughter every demon. We can't let them consume our world." Giyu was silent as he processed this information, before Urokodaki shouted, "WELL WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE STILL?! YOU AREN'T DONE TRAINING YET!"

The Present

"Now please! Let my sister go!" Tanjiro begged.

Giyu made a "tsk"ing sound. "Why don't you make me!" Giyu said, still not believing the story to be true, and not believing that the reincarnation of the Demon Tamer was just some teenager.

"Uh…" Tanjiro wasn't sure what he needed to do. He knew nothing. Not how to fight, not how to counter, and not how to do this without getting hurt. But, he gripped the handle of his hatchet. "I can do this," Tanjiro muttered. He held the axe, before running forward, planning a basic swing.

Giyu saw through this and countered with his sword each time. "Pathetic," Giyu said before kicking Tanjiro in the gut, making Tanjiro gasp for air.

Nezuko, who's eyes widened at the fact her brother got hit, grew hostile as she elbowed Giyu in the gut, and he coughed up some blood and she got out of his grip before going to Tanjiro. "Don't hurt my brother," Nezuko growled as she glared at Giyu.

'Damn, I think she broke one of my ribs,' Giyu thought as he clutched the right side of his stomach. 'It could be possible… But it can't be!' Giyu dashed forward with his sword, aiming to take off both of their heads at once.

Then he saw it in the boy's eyes. A bitterly cold, unadulterated rage from realizing what was about to come. As Giyu sword swung, he heard it break as Tanjiro appeared and stopped it with his right arm, the sword breaking from coming in contact with the skin of Tanjiro's arm. And then Giyu saw the thing that made him believe about the Demon Tamer.

Tanjiro then punched Giyu in the stomach, and Giyu was sent a bit away, clutching his ribs again as he coughed up blood while looking at the snow on the ground. Giyu looked up, and he looked at Tanjiro, who suddenly had metallic markings on his arms that went up to his elbow, but stopped there. Giyu then believed as he recited a line from Urokodaki's story, one that he said right after Giyu was told the story from a former Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps.

'There was one thing that did strike me odd, since the Demon Tamer was pure human,' Urokodaki has said. 'He told me, that he sometimes randomly manifested powers that could rival the lower members of the Twelve Kizuki. And one of those powers…'

"He called Haki…" Giyu muttered aloud as he slowly stood up. "Kid… what is your name?"

"My name is Tanjiro Kamado! And you are not going to hurt my sister!" Tanjiro growled. He took a fighting stance before he saw Giyu sheath his sword.

"...does your sister follow your orders?" Giyu asked randomly.

"Why does that matter?" Tanjiro questioned.

"Kid… Even I barely believed the story… But I think it's possible now…" Giyu said. He pointed at Tanjiro.

"You, are the Demon Tamer."

A/N: Seeing as how I'm getting into Demon Slayer, I thought about this a bit and decided to do this story! I'm also putting a few stories on Hiatus so I can work on this.

It should also be noted that Haki is a One Piece reference. Am I going to include more powers that are references? Probably, but I want to try and limit myself from that since I don't want Tanjiro to be too overpowered.

And also, I'm breaking a lot of rules here, but I don't care. Expect there to be a lot of fluff from some Demons, and also for some humans slightly simping for Tanjiro, though I'm still halfway through the first season.

Have a good day!
