It is time for the training to begin. This whole arc shall take at least four chapters, and I will also try to introduce a new Demon OC, the first one Tanjiro will tame!
Tanjiro: ...did you forget about Nezuko?
Who said I was talking about befriending them like how you did with Nezuko?
Tanjiro: Wait what?!
Chapter 3
Sakonji Urokodaki
"Wake up kid!" A voice shouted, before Tanjiro opened his eyes, and he closed them again before shielding them with his eyes, before his eyes adjusted and he saw it was morning time.
"Wh-What?" Tanjiro questioned, before seeing a man wearing a tengu mask sitting in a rock. "Wh-Who are you?!"
"I'm just your average old man wearing a tengu mask and I yell at random people sleeping in the middle of the forest where there is a murder scene," the old man replied. "I'M A DEMON SLAYER!"
"Hrrrmmm…" Nezuko was waking up. "Who's shouting?" Then she saw the old man. "I-Is that a Demon?!"
"No, I'm a Demon Slayer Trainer," the old man replied.
"W-Wait, are you the man that Giyu was taking us too?" Tanjiro asked.
"I don't know, am I?" The old man questioned mysteriously.
"Hmm…" Tanjiro and Nezuko weren't exactly sure. They never really knew what the man they were looking for looked like. For all they knew, this could be some random person. But, if it was the person they were looking for, then it's highly likely that the blue cloak he wore fit with what Giyu was talking about, when he told them his sword style was called Water Breathing.
"...yes?" Tanjiro finally guessed.
"The fact you made that assumption with the little info I gave you, means you're barely confident in yourself," the man said. "When I'm done with you, you'll be the exact opposite!" He stood up. "Now run with me!" The man began running, and Tanjiro and Nezuko quickly scrambled to get up before they followed him.
After running for roughly an hour, they had made it to the bottom of a mountain, and they stopped at a rather small house that could've been passed as a shed. Tanjiro and Nezuko were both catching their breath, while the man simply watched them for a moment.
"...you both aren't exactly fit, but you both managed to keep up rather well," the Demon Slayer said. "Fine, I'll train you both."
"So… you are…" Tanjiro looked up and tried to stand more firmly, before he said, "Giyu's… mentor?"
"I trained him, yes…" The man crossed his arms behind his back. "I am Sakonji Urokodaki. I train Demon Slayers in the art of Water Breathing, which has 11 different forms. However, I will not teach you the final form. I do not see you as worthy of it." He began to walk up the mountain more. "Now follow me for the first step of your training."
Tanjiro and Nezuko silently groaned, not wanting to walk anymore, the former more than the latter, before they followed Urokodaki.
As they climbed up the mountain, Tanjiro began to notice a lack of air the higher they went before breathing began to get harder and harder, until Sakonji stopped them in a clear circle of grass, surrounded by large trees. "Now, you two have until sunset to make it to my home. Fail before then, and I will not train you two." Sakonji then began running down the mountain at a speed that could only be achieved through intense training with the surroundings. "Now be careful!"
"That's it?!" Nezuko questioned, before Tanjiro realized something.
"I don't think this is gonna be an easy climb, even with my super smell," Tanjiro stated. "I think he might've set up traps, otherwise why would we need to be careful?" Tanjiro began coughing from a lack of air, and began taking even deeper breaths. "Let's go. And stay behind me Nezuko, in case he did set up lethal traps." Nezuko, seeing no reason to object and also due to being ordered by her 'master', nodded.
The two then began their descent…
Sakonji looked at the sky through his mask, before he heard the sound of a tree falling behind him, which would be up the mountain some ways as he turned around and saw Tanjiro and Nezuko running for their lives as a fallen tree was chasing them down the mountain due to the gravitational force of gravity before it hit two trees that would be the entrance to the path up the mountain, and the two fell to the ground, absolutely shaken by their near death experience — though Nezuko would've lived, to be honest. She just forget she was part demon — and were now catching their breath.
Sakonji walked up to them, and looked at the sun. While the sun was beginning to set, it was still quite light out, and there was plenty of blue in the sky.
"Impressive…" Sakonji commented before looking back at the two Kamados. "You made it early. Congrats."
"We… we made it?" Tanjiro questioned before falling to the grown, unbelievably sore. "Crap…"
"Indeed," Sakonji answered. "I accept you both as my students." Tanjiro and Nezuko both looked at each other and smiled. Sadly, he's gonna have to rain on their parade. "However! You two will be conducting separate training, since one of you is a genuine Demon, and the other is the Demon Tamer."
They both stopped their smiling before Sakonji smirked under his mask. "This is gonna be the most cruelest training you both will ever face, and I will not throw either of you a bone. So, get ready for the closest thing to Hell you two will ever face before you face REAL Demons…"
This is where I'll leave off, because the beginning of Demon Slayer is purely time skips. Too many time skips…
Hmm… *is thinking of Hit from Dragon Ball Super* That would be an interesting ability to give a Demon… anyways, the next chapter will be the start of Tanjiro's training, including the first Demon he will tame.
But here's a question I want answered by the fans: Should it be a new Demon, or a Demon who was tamed by the previous Demon Tamer?
Have fun!
