New A/N: I've returned from vacation, and needless to say I will try my best to write content, cringe, and chaos for my stories. I also would like to thank the people for showing their support for this story. It should be noted, I do not like to change the author notes I put, so in addition to this newer one, you also get the older one.
The Old A/N: Demons are so interesting. I'm not exactly the best with OCs since that's been one of my weakest spots, but I'm trying to limit my power leveling with the Demons too. And since Demon Slayer takes place in roughly the early 1900s, I have conducted research to follow through with some parts of the backstory for Lizzy!
Onto the chapter!
Chapter 5
Truth
Nezuko conducted a hard training regimen thanks to Sakonji, which included a thousand push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, sword slashes, and a ten kilometer run around the mountain, and then back, which was more like a twenty kilometer run. And as such, she questioned whether or not Sakonji saw her as a human, though she knew she was now technically a Demon. Or would she be a half-blood? Super Human?
However, when she got back from the run, she didn't expect a Demon, that she just knew was FEMALE, to be hugging her brother's arm and nuzzling his shoulder, which shocked her. However, she was on guard, since it was possible that this Demon had a brainwashing BDA and it was hard to tell if this was a tamed Demon or not, since it was a cloudy day and the shadows of the trees covered the area for the brief moments the sun showed itself.
"H-Hey Tanjiro," Nezuko said as she called out to her brother, who then looked at her, the Demon also doing the same, before the Demon walked up to her after letting go of Tanjiro.
"Hey there!" The Demon greeted kindly. "So you're Tanjiro's sist-" Nezuko then kicked the Demon in the chin with a swift raise of her foot, which demonstrated how flexible she was now that she was a Demon, which knocked the Demon to the ground. "P-Probably should've seen that coming…"
"N-Nezuko, wait! She's a good Demon!" Tanjiro said as he ran up to Nezuko, who was about to start pummeling her with punches, and grabbed her hand.
"How do I know you're not brainwashed?! That could be her Blood Demon Art!" Nezuko retorted at her brother.
"Because it's not! At least I don't think it is."
"Sorry, should've given you a heads up," the Demon said as she sat up, before rubbing her chin. "Hi, I'm Lizzy Wagon, and I was tamed by the previous Demon Tamer, and also by your brother too."
"O-Oh, s-sorry," Nezuko apologized, before helping Lizzy stand up.
"It's nothing. The others can get rowdy too. Really rowdy," Lizzy replied. "I've grown used to violence, and also a bit tolerant to the pain." She seemed a bit proud of that, though Nezuko wasn't sure if Lizzy should be.
"Just what the hell happens with you and the other Demons?" Nezuko muttered under her breath, though Lizzy heard.
"A lot of different shit, that you probably should be glad you're not a part of," Lizzy said immediately and quietly with a face that's seen things, which slightly scared Nezuko and Tanjiro. "...yet."
"Yet?!" Nezuko and Tanjiro questioned.
"With a Demon Tamer, comes a lot of Tamed Demons," Lizzy said, somewhat scared and confused if her facial expression was anything to go off of. "And because they're all immortal… they don't have much to do. And they fight. They fight and fight and none of them care that they're hurting each other and most act like nothing is happening. I… I figured we're trying to END the violence, but they all just seem so content on creating more violence. It makes no sense!"
"So that's why you were so excited to see me," Tanjiro said in realization. "You wanted me to end the violence… because you're a pacifist."
"Is it wrong to want everyone to live peaceful lives?" Lizzy asked.
"We'll help you!" Nezuko said, understanding Lizzy's intentions. "However, touch my brother in any way I don't approve of and I will kick you harder than I did just now, got it!"
"R-Really?" Lizzy looked surprised at Nezuko, her brother also surprised at Nezuko's decision.
"Well, he's kinda already tamed you and I, so it makes sense we'd stick together," Nezuko said while twirling a strand of her hair and looking to the side. "Plus… I am a bit curious about these other Demons. And I also want to end the conflict finally. What Muzan's done isn't forgivable, but that shouldn't be a reason to start problems for humans and Demons alike." Nezuko grabbed Lizzy's hands and looked at the Demon. "So as a friend, I'll try my best to help you!"
"Th…" Lizzy began to cry tears of joy and relief. "Thank-"
"Once me and Tanjiro complete our training and pass Final Selection of course," Nezuko finished, which kinda stung Lizzy a bit and made Tanjiro's jaw drop.
"If you're all done chatting," Urokodaki called out as the three became aware of their surroundings, "I need some chores done before dinner! We're gonna need wood tonight too!"
"I'll get started on the chopping!" Tanjiro called out before he went to grab the axe to begin chopping.
"Let's go get you cleaned up," Nezuko told Lizzy as she helped Lizzy onto her feet. "I've never had many friends before due to watching most of my siblings. It'll be nice to get to know someone." Nezuko offered a sympathetic smile, and her eyes told Lizzy that she too had experienced terror the likes that most don't see in their lives.
Lizzy wiped her eyes with her hand and smiled after hugging Nezuko. "Thank you…"
Beef stew was a delightful dish when made by Sakonji Urokodaki. The three guests of his all would agree over this sentiment.
However the old Demon Slayer had to eventually come to the conclusion that Lizzy was going to be trying to take Tanjiro back to where she and the other Tamed Demons lived. Either by force, or when the two Kamados were ready. But as it seems the three got along surprisingly well so far, so it was more than likely that Lizzy wouldn't try to take them away.
At least for the time being.
"So, Nezuko, what is your Blood Demon Art?" Lizzy suddenly asked while Sakonji continued to think to himself, oblivious to their conversation.
"Huh?" Nezuko looked at Lizzy confused. "What do you mean?"
"What's your Blood Demon Art? You know, the special power you have because you're a Demon."
"Well…" Nezuko did some thinking, before realizing something with Tanjiro and the two looked at each other. "Huh…"
"We don't know what it is…" Tanjiro finished for his sister.
Lizzy just looked at them a bit confused. "Is this a joke?"
Nezuko shook her head. "Nope!"
"How long have you been a Demon?"
"Three months, or roughly around that time."
"How do you not know how to use your Blood Demon Art?!"
"Well Tanjiro did kinda tame me after I tried to kill him, which was like, within an hour of me becoming a Demon."
"This is just a guess," Tanjiro began, drawing attention to him. "But Nezuko could be a Demon who possesses no Blood Demon Art."
Lizzy shook her head while wearing a disbelieving look on her face. "But that's impossible! Every Demon has one! It takes a bit longer for some though from what I've heard."
"Well, the only thing I could think of that could be Nezuko's Blood Demon Art…" Tanjiro began to think back on the day they learned about the Demons. "It could be that power that let her body grow bigger…"
"Really?" Lizzy looked at Nezuko. "That sounds interesting!"
"Well I haven't used it since then, nor do I remember how," Nezuko said as she looked at her stew, before humming to herself.
"Well, what's your Blood Demon Art Lizzy?" Tanjiro asked the older Demon.
"Oh, see the mist that comes from my mouth?" Lizzy pointed towards the mist that came from the corners of her mouth, and Nezuko and Tanjiro looked at her, waiting for an explanation. "Well, with this Demon Art of mine I'm capable of making portals that I can walk through and take me to places I've been. I use it to get around a lot, but the toll on me is still really harsh, even though I'm tamed."
Tanjiro looked a bit interested. "The toll?"
"I get really hungry and exhausted," Lizzy explained. "I would normally have to eat two humans before I could warp again, but now I just got to eat a few servings." She rubbed the back of her head shyly. "Amazing how Demons don't gain weight, right?"
"Uh…" Nezuko and Tanjiro had no idea how to react.
"Y-Yeah… new Tamed Demons give the same response when I say that," Lizzy said.
The rest of the night went pretty well, and afterwards, everyone went to bed and slept soundly.
Well, almost everyone.
Tanjiro poked at the fire as he tended to it, sleeping close to the fire as well while Lizzy and Nezuko shared a room together. At least he understood why Sakonji would have him man the fire, especially since it sounded like the Tamed Demons… got up to things. Tanjiro shuddered and smacked his cheeks.
"Don't think about it! We'll get to that road soon enough!" Tanjiro told himself, not paying any attention to how he said 'we'.
A simple healthy dose of filler. I'll probably write some more shenanigans between the three of them (Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Lizzy), and maybe dive into Lizzy's past before Final Selection. The arc following is a semi-filler arc, where we'll see Tanjiro confront the main batch of the Tamed Demons, including their leader.
I'll confirm this now, the 'leader' is powerful.
