Hey guys. Here is the next chapter to the reboot to Dragon Ball ZMX. I hope you all enjoy it. I will try to do my best with this series. However, I will be more focused on my rwby series, so this may not get updated as much as I would like.
Plus there is the fact I will be rewatching a lot of Dragon Ball so I can remember the gist of what I am trying to write.
Speaking of, I will be skipping most of Dragon Ball as not much of the story will be changed. It will mostly be the same with some small differences. And keep in mind, a lot of this chapter will go similarly to part of the show as it leads up to when the changes will begin.
Last we left off, Goku had met a new friend named Bulma, and went off on an incredible adventure to find the mythical dragon balls. Goku was excited, since he had never left the mountain he had called home all his life. The chance to see the world was more than he could ever hope for.
Along the way, he had fought many battles, and made several new friends. Such as the Turtle Hermit Roshi, the Ox king, who was like a brother to his grandpa Gohan, and the Ox king's daughter, Chichi. Chici was infatuated with Goku, and when she learned that Goku had a single mother, suggested her father meet her, being single himself. The Ox king just blushed and gave an embarrassed chuckle at this. Along the way, Goku even fought and befriended a shapeshifting pig named Oolong, and even faced a bandit named Yamcha and his talking cat Puar.
Over the course of the journey, Bulma felt herself grow close to the monkey tail boy. Though she wished he didn't have as much of a disgusting eating habit. But she honestly couldn't have been happier to have met him.
We come now near the end of their journey, as Bulma and Goku were sitting in a car, driven begrudgingly by Oolong. They were going through the desert, trying to find the final dragon ball.
Bulma was looking at her radar. "Almost there guys. So close. After so long." she then had a dopey grin as she imagined it now. Her dream boyfriend.
However, her fantasy was interrupted by Oolong. "Hey, so… I feel like I should ask. What's this wish you have planned? Something we can all split I hope. Like… I don't know, all the gold in the world?"
Bulma turned to him after leaving her fantasy. "Huh? Oh, yeah. I plan to wish for a boyfriend. The most perfect boyfriend to ever exist!" she said with a smug look.
"WAIT WHAT?!"
"What's wrong?" Bulma asked the pig.
"So after all the nonsense we have gone through, you're the only one who gets the reward?! What a rip off!" Oolong shouted. He stopped paying any attention to the road.
"Wow! Watch out Oolong!" Goku shouted as they were close to hitting the massive mushrooms around them.
"LEARN HOW TO DRIVE!" screamed Bulma as Oolong started paying attention and fixed the steering.
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to them, they were being tailed by Yamcha, and Puar. "I think they might be lost, Yamcha." Puar spoke. "I can't believe the dragon ball is out here in the middle of nowhere."
Yamcha just had a smirk, showing he was missing a tooth from a previous run in with Goku. "Oh it's here, Puar. I know it. We just have to wait for them to find it, then we swoop in and steal the dragon balls right out from under them. And i can finally be free of my fear, and i can find a girlfriend!" he laughed.
Back with Goku and his friends, Oolong managed to get things back under control. But his annoyance with Bulma persisted. "Bulma, I will ask nicely, please change your wish. There has to be something, anything you want that all three of us could split. Right Goku?"
"Actually I don't really want anything." Goku smiled. "I've just been enjoying this adventure." he chuckled, he was just having so much fun. He got to meet his grandpa's old friend, and his teacher. He was so glad his mom and grandpa let him come along with Bulma. Oolong was however, feeling annoyed not to have him on his side in this.
Bulma was really getting annoyed now. "Oolong, i am warning you. If you don't stop, I'll say you know what, and make you have to go to the bathroom." she threatened. Ever since taking a certain pill, Bulma only had to say piggy, and Oolong lost control of his bowel movement. (ew)
That did it. Oolong was not happy hearing her threaten him like that, so he slammed his foot on the break, bringing the car to an abrupt stop.
This only succeeded in making Bulma mad. "YOU ARE REALLY PUSHING IT, OOLONG!" she shouted. "Get this car moving, RIGHT NOW!"
"No." oolong denied. "I'm not driving another inch until you change your wish to something that isn't a total waste of a wish."
Bulma grit her teeth. "Why don't I wish for you to stop talking? Seems like a good use for a wish to me!" she growled. Oolong growled as they got out of the car, and glared each other down.
"You are such a selfish brat!" Oolong growled.
"EXCUSE ME?!" Bulma shouted.
"Uh… guys? Please don't fight." Goku asked. He didn't like seeing his friends fight like this.
But then, Bulma had a smirk. "Piggy!" she called out, making Oolong go wide eyed. "Piggy! Piggy!"
Just then, Oolong clutched his stomach and ran behind a mushroom. "T-that's playing dirty!"
Meanwhile, Yamcha and Puar were watching this happen. "Well… this is going to take a while…" he sighed. Looks like they aren't finding the dragon ball anytime soon. But he had to be ready.
Eventually Oolong came out from behind the mushroom. "Honestly, I should just steal your wish and ask the dragon for an unlimited supply of diapers." he growled.
"Oh just get back in the car, and start driving." Bulma ordered. However, as they got back on the road, they were left unaware that someone was aiming a weapon at them. As when they started driving, the car got blown to pieces. Yamcha and Puar went wide eyed in shock seeing this.
Bulma ended up screaming as they all fell on the ground. "AAAH! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED?!"
Goku was just dazed for a second, and extremely confused. "I… I think we just got blown up…"
"I noticed…" Oolong groaned.
Just then, a massive mech stomped on the ground, and saw the dragon balls. "Hehe, I came to repossess your dragon balls." a voice said, coming from the mech. It then flew off.
Bulma screamed yet again. Something that was much of a theme for her. "THAT THING JUST STOLE OUR DRAGON BALLS!"
"Didn't it say it repossessed them?" Goku asked. He wasn't too sure what repossess meant. He lived in the mountains all his life after all.
"It stole them." Oolong told the boy.
Bulma then turned to the spiky haired monkey boy. "Goku, get on the flying nimbus right now and go after that thing!"
"O-okay." Goku nodded. "FLYING NIMBUS!" he called out, summoning the cloud master Roshi gave him for helping mister Turtle get home. When the golden cloud got there, Goku hopped on and began the chase.
Meanwhile, the thief landed down, and opened the mech. Inside it was revealed to be Shu, the dog ninja, and one of Emperor Pilaf's two right hand minions. "Hehe, that was too easy." he chuckled.
He ran to the ship that Mai was waiting for him at. "So, did you get them?" she asked her partner in crime.
"Sure do!" Shu smiled as he showed the case with the dragon ball.
Mai smiled right back. "I think we actually did it!" She said as they got into their plane.
"Maybe emperor Pilaf will stop yelling at us!" Shu said as the two of them laughed happily and flew off with the balls.
As they flew away, Goku had arrived at where they left the mech. He hopped off the flying nimbus and pulled out the power pole his grandpa gave him. "Alright monster, time to give back the dragon balls you stole!" He growled as he was ready for a fight.
But the mech didn't move. Without a pilot to control it, it was just a useless hunk of metal.
"Um… hello? Mister monster?" Goku asked, not knowing what it really was. He went over to give it a closer look.
Just then, the hatch Shu left open began to slam closed. Almost hitting Goku.
"Hey!" He shouted, dodging it. "Thats' playing dirty!" He then noticed it still wasn't moving, which caused him to get annoyed.
He went over and tapped it with the power pole, causing it to fall over with a loud slam.
He was surprised by that and gave it one more tap. "Huh. Guess it's really dead." He decided he should just head back to the others. Forgetting all about the dragon balls.
Meanwhile with Bulma and Oolong, they were waiting impatiently for Goku to get back.
"He should have been back by now, what's taking him so long?" Bulma sighed.
Oolong then had an idea since maybe Goku won't get the balls back. "Say Bulma, why not forget your wish? I could just be your boyfriend?"
Bulma then had a disgusted look on her face. "Excuse me?! There is no way in hell you perverted pig!"
This made Oolong mad. "Fine. Your loss."
"As if." Bulma spat.
"I think I finally get it. You don't want a real boyfriend. You just want a fake pretty boy that only loves you because a dragon made him do so." Oolong growled.
"W-what is that supposed to mean?" Bulma asked. That was the second time someone said that. She remembered Goku's grandpa Gohan saying the same thing when she told him her wish. She was actually starting to have doubts if it was even a good idea.
Just then, Goku had made it back. "Hey guys!" He called out as he jumped down. "That monster is dead." He said with a smile.
Bulma however didn't seem as pleased. She looked Goku up and down. "Um… Goku? Where's the dragon balls?"
"Oh…. I don't know." Goku shrugged.
"What?!" Bulma shouted before falling to her knees. "N-no… they probably summoned the dragon by now… I can't believe it…" she said in a defeated and broken tone.
"But I still have one." Goku said.
Bulma looked up at him. "Wait, what?"
"Yeah." Goku smiled as he pulled the four star ball out of a sack on his sash. "I wanted to hold on to the four star ball since it reminded me of home." He chuckled.
This made Bulma smile, and even start to laugh. She then pulled Goku into a big hug. "Good job Goku! You're the best!"
"I-it's alright Bulma. Y-you don't need to thank me." Goku said, not knowing why but was feeling a little uncomfortable.
Bulma also didn't know why, but she blushed as she let go. "A-alright."
Oolong however had a perverted look. "Feel free to thank me if you want." That earned him Bulma's foot right to his snout.
Bulma then had a confident look. "Alright you two. Get in the car and I'll track them down with my radar."
Oolong, who was rubbing his snout, deadpanned at Bulma. "Did you forget the car got destroyed?"
Bulma then smirked. "Did you forget I have my capsules? I can just get out another one." She said confidentiality… before realizing. "W-wait… they were in my suitcase with the dragon balls…." Her confident attitude disappeared and was replaced with another defeated look. Which then devolved into crying.
Meanwhile, Yamcha and Puar were still watching. "Looks like they need a ride, Yamcha." Puar said.
"Y-yeah… but… she scares me." Yamcha said nervously.
"Then what do we do?"
Yamcha sighed. "We have no choice… we have to give them a hand…"
Puar was surprised by this. "But what about your fear of girls?"
A large blush formed on Yamcha's face. "Well… if we want to get our hands on the dragon balls… we have no choice."
Back with the others, Bulma was still crying. Goku went over and placed his hand on her arm. "It's okay Bulma. Don't cry. We'll think of something."
"Yeah right." Oolong rolled his eyes.
Just then, they heard the sound of a car engine. "Hey look who it is!" Called out Yamcha.
They all turned to him. "Yamcha!" Bulma said happily, seeing the bandit.
Yamcha was super nervous seeing her, but put up a… less than convincing confident look. "W-what a coincidence… n-need a hand?"
Bulma then immediately got in his car, startling Yamcha. "I'd love one!" she said. She then tossed Puar in the back. "Would you mind giving us a ride? Pretty please?" She asked with a wink.
Yamcha felt his fears spiking. "S-sure… we… we would be happy to…" he then began driving when everyone got in the car, save for Goku, who followed on the flying nimbus.
They drove for a bit, and Bulma decided she needed to check the radar. But knew she probably shouldn't shoe Yamcha. Just then, he had an idea. She turned to the bandit leader. "Hey Yamcha, mind doing me a favor?"
Yamcha had a nervous look. "A-a favor?"
Bulma nodded. "Would you mind closing your eyes for a second? Pretty please?" She then began fluttering her eyelashes.
A massive blush began forming on Yamcha's face. "W-what for?" 'I-is she going to kiss me?!'
"Just do it, please." Bulma asked nicely. "You too Puar." Both of them did as she asked, and Bulma checked the dragon radar. She smiled seeing that they were headed in the right direction. "Okay, you can open your eyes." She said as she put it away.
Yamcha opened his eyes confused, as he didn't feel anything happen. "W-wait… what happened?"
Bulma then winked at him. "A girl needs to have her secrets." She said, making him blush.
They eventually arrived at Castle Pilaf. When they entered however, they were surprised by all the "deadly" traps there. Such as walls slamming down at them, and trapping them. Sadly, they lost the four star ball due to sleep gas. Causing them to have to hurry when they wake up.
It led them to being chased by a massive metallic ball controlled via piano keys, and leading them to be trapped. Thinking they would be no trouble, Pilaf, along with Shu and Mai went to make their wish.
When they were trapped, Yamcha had the idea for Goku to use his Kamehameha. Though Goku was confused about how he knew about it, there wasn't really any time.
Goku got into his stance and fired the beam at the wall. Though due to Gku not having much practice, it was very small.
Goku chuckled nervously. "Oops. Guess I need to practice more."
"It's fine Goku." Yamcha said as he looked through the hole. His eyes went wide in shock. "There they are. They are about to summon the dragon." He turned to Puar. "Think you can turn into a bat and steal one of the balls?"
Puar smiled. "Sure Yamcha!" But all Puar did was turn into a version of herself with wings. She then flew through the hole.
Bulma then turned to Oolong with an annoyed look. "Well? Aren't you going to help?"
"And why should I?" Oolong asked with a raised brow.
Bulma was beyond pissed now. "Want me to say you know what every ten seconds?"
Oolong was sweating now. "Okay! Okay!" He then transformed and went after Puar.
Meanwhile, Pilaf was ready to summon the dragon. "Arise eternal dragon! And hear my wish!" He called out.
The dragon balls began to glow. Dark clouds began to fill the sky, as lightning shot from them. Puar and Oolong began to get nervous seeing this.
Lightning began to shout out of the balls into the sky, before twisting and turning, and changing into the shape of a massive dragon.
The Pilaf gang, Puar, Oolong, and Yamcha, who was still watching from the hole were left in utter shock at the sheer size of the dragon. Bulma moved Yamcha over so she could see too.
"What's going on guys? I can't see anything." Goku asked.
"What are we going to do?" Yamcha asked, not paying Goku any mind.
"I… I don't know…" Bulma replied.
Goku was getting frustrated. "Hey, let me see!"
Pilaf however was in awe as he watched the dragon take form. It was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. He could feel his dream finally coming true. His dream to rule the entire world.
The dragon was then fully formed as he looked down at the would-be tyrant. His were eyes blood red and his scales as green as emeralds. His body was miles long. "WHO HAS SUMMONED THE ETERNAL DRAGON FROM HIS SLUMBER?" the dragon asked in a booming and powerful voice.
Pilaf, feeling very intimidated, began to get nervous. "T-that would be me…"
The dragon stared him down. "THEN SPEAK YOUR WISH, AND I SHALL GRANT IT. BUT BEWARE WHAT YOU WISH FOR. AS IT WILL COME TRUE, BUT MAY NOT BE AS YOU EXPECT." He declared. "SPEAK!"
Pilaf gulped. "A-alright…"
Goku meanwhile was trying to blast the wall more. Though it wasn't doing much, the young boy was determined not to give up.
However, the dragon was getting annoyed with Pilaf's delay. "MY PATIENCE HAS ITS LIMITS. SPEAK YOUR WISH, SO THAT I MAY RETURN TO MY SLUMBER!" It growled, frightening Pilaf.
"O-of course!" Pilaf said
Oolong then swallowed his fear as he landed down and began running to Pilaf. "Damn it. I don't want to be a hero. I'm a coward. And yet here I am, having to save the day." He growled.
Meanwhile, Goku let off another Kamehameha at the wall, blasting a bigger hole into it. This allowed them to escape from the cell.
As that happened, Pilaf began to speak. "I WISH FOR THE WORLD-"
But then he was cut off by Oolong. "THE WORLD'S MOST COMFORTABLE PAIR OF PANTIES!" He called out, shocking Pilaf.
Just then, the dragon's eyes began to glow, and everyone gasped as they watched this. Just then, a pair of ladies underwear fell from the sky and landed in Oolong's hands. To which the perverted pig smiled.
Pilaf however was beyond furious. "Y-you swine!"
But then, the dragon called out. "YOUR WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED. FAREWELL." It then disappeared in a flash of light, and the dragon balls scattered across the earth.
"N-no wait! Come back!" Pilaf called out desperately.
Goku was surprised by this. "Where did the dragon balls go?"
"When the dragon grants a wish, they scatter across the earth and become stones for a whole year." Bulma explained.
The angry Pilaf turned to Oolong, who was wearing the underwear on his head. "Get that pig! I want him spitroasted and made into dinner!" As he said this, Shu and Mai ran towards Oolong, who began to panic and run away. Pilaf then saw the others get free as well. "Get them too! I want them all executed!" He raged.
Thus began a chase through the castle. Shu summoned his army of dogs, and when it looked like everyone was about to escape, they were surrounded and captured. And Pilaf had a good idea what to do with the people that stole his wish from him.
They ended up being placed in a room with steel walls, and a tempered glass ceiling. Goku found out how tough it was the hard way trying to break it with his head.
Pilaf was heard laughing on a PA system. "I hope you like your accommodations. I call it my easy bake office. That glass ceiling is designed to take the sun's rays and super heat that room. By tomorrow morning, you'll be fried alive. And I'll enjoy the whole thing." He laughed.
This caused everyone to freak out. Save for Goku, who was beginning to get hungry. Yamcha tried hitting the walls with his wolf fang fist. And Goku tried helping with his Kamehameha. But nothing seemed to even scratch the walls.
Yamcha fell to his knees in frustration. "It's not working. We're… we're stuck here…"
Pilaf smirked. "Sleep well. I'll be sure to wake you up early. I want you awake for your doom!" He laughed. He and his misfit minions left to go sleep for the night. They wanted to be up early to see the show.
Goku and his friends ended up just sitting in their cell, trying to think of something to do.
"You'd think we would get a last request." Oolong huffed.
"Can I request you to shut up?" Bulma growled.
"Nope." Oolong spat.
Just then, Puar looked up through the glass ceiling. "Well, at least the full moon is pretty."
Goku then went wide eyed. "A full moon?" He then began to get nervous.
"What's wrong Goku?" Bulma asked.
"Well… my mom told me to never look at a full moon." He replied.
"What? Why the heck would she say something like that?" Oolong asked, thinking it was silly.
"Yeah, I agree with Oolong. That is kinda weird." Bulma nodded.
Goku began fidgeting in place. "Well… she says I turn into a giant ape monster when I do…"
Everyone looked at Goku wide eyed. "G-Goku, that's not funny!" Bulma said.
"I'm not joking Bulma. I almost trampled my grandpa to death when I did." Goku told her.
This really surprised Yamcha. Gohan was a well renowned martial arts master. If Goku had nearly killed him, then it must have been bad. "H-how did he survive?" He asked.
"My mom decided to also transform to try and stop me." Goku answered.
Everyone was now really nervous. Both Goku, and his mom could both turn into giant ape monsters.
"I… I had a feeling Goku wasn't an ordinary kid… and… and I guess I was right." Yamcha said nervously.
"T-then whatever you do Goku, don't look at the moon please." Bulma begged.
"Yeah… I don't think I want to see a giant ape." Yamcha nodded.
Goku nodded. But then, an idea came to him. Though he was nervous to say it. "What if… what if it could help us escape?"
Everyone freaked out even more. "Are you crazy?! Either we get our bacon fried or get it stomped by a giant monkey?! There's no option I like!" Oolong shouted.
"I know… but at least you would have a chance to escape. You just need to last till morning for me to change back." Goku explained.
Bulma wanted to argue. But over the course of the adventure, she had grown to really trust Goku. She knew he wouldn't suggest this unless there was no other option. "Alright Goku… I trust you."
"ARE YOU INSANE?!" Oolong shouted.
"What other choice do we have?" Bulma asked the pig. "We have no other means of escaping."
Goku nodded. "Alright." He then looked to the moon. For a minute, it didn't look like anything was happening.
Oolong raised a brow. "Huh. You think his mom just made it up so he wouldn't stay up late?"
"She didn't seem like the type to lie about that." Bulma said.
"Maybe it takes a minute?" Goku asked as he turned to them. Just then, his body went ramrod and his eyes turned blood red, making everyone jump back in fear.
Goku's body began to convulse as if something was moving inside him. He suddenly began to get bigger, causing his clothes to rip. His teeth began to get sharper, and his face began to turn into a snout as hair grew all over him.
Everyone began to panic as Goku kept growing, and growing, and began to look like a monstrous ape like he had said.
"Oh god! He was telling the truth!" Oolong shouted.
Goku began to get so big that the walls and ceiling couldn't hold him. They began to shift and break, before they were smashed to pieces.
"Looks like Goku's plan worked!" Bulma said.
"Great. So we won't be fried. We'll just get crushed. Great plan Goku!" Oolong shouted as they began to run for cover. "Seriously, if this is him trying to help us, remind me to never make him mad!"
"I'm with you on that one!" Yamcha shouted.
"We just need to make it out till morning like he said!" Bulma shouted.
"Easier said than done!" Oolong said as they tried not to get crushed by debris as Goku was smashing the castle.
Meanwhile in the castle bedroom, Shu and Mai ended up waking up from the castle shaking. "Wow! Is the emperor snoring again?!" Shu asked.
"I think it's an earthquake." Mai said as she looked around. However, Pilaf was sleeping through all this, dreaming he was a bee.
Just then, the ceiling to the bedroom was torn open by Goku, causing Shu and Mai to scream. Goku began to roar at them.
Pilaf, however, was still sleeping. "No… don't take my honey you mean old bear…" he mumbled.
"Emperor Pilaf! Wake up!" Mai yelled out.
Pilaf grumbled as he got up, and rubbed his eyes. "What's going on?" He asked. But then Goku roared again, causing him to scream.
Goku's friends were still trying to make a run for it as ruble kept falling around them. But as they were running, Bulma ended up tripping and couldn't get up.
"Bulma!" Oolong shouted as he ran over to her. "What happened?"
"M-my leg… I can't move…" she groaned.
Oolong tried to help her up, but due to not being very strong, he wasn't much help. He turned to Yamcha. "Mind lending a hand pal?"
Yamcha blushed as he looked at Bulma, then back to Oolong. "M-me?! I… I can't…"
Puar then floated over to him. "Come on Yamcha. I know you can do it."
Yamcha grew nervous. But as the castle was being trashed all around them, he swallowed his fear and grabbed Bulma and Oolong, then began running for his life as Puar followed.
Meanwhile, Pilaf and his two minions managed to get inside a plane and fly out of the castle. And Pilaf watched as Goku was destroying his castle. The castle that he spent years building. He began to get furious. "That's it. Turn around!" He ordered.
Mai and Shu looked at him wide eyed. "A-are you sure sire?" Shu asked.
"Yes I'm sure! We're going to kill that overgrown monkey! I don't care if we have to ram this plane into his nose to do it!" Pilaf shouted.
"I don't think that's a good idea sir." Mai said.
Pilaf glared at her. "Want me to throw you out of this plane?!"
Mai eeped as she turned the plane around. "N-no sir! Sorry sir!"
They then began firing at Goku with the plane's machine guns.
The others gasped at this. "Goku!" Bulma shouted, seeing the friend she made during the journey get shot at.
"I know he's big and hairy, but that's no reason to shoot him!" Oolong shouted angrily.
However, all the bullets seemed to do was make the great ape very angry. And so he began swiping at the plane.
Pilaf growled. "These pea shooters aren't working. Use the heat seeking missile!" He ordered.
"Yes sir emperor." Mai nodded as she readied the missile and took aim. "Hold still, big guy." She bubbled as she had Goku lined up. She then fired the missile.
The others saw this. "Oh no. Goku! Look out!" Bulma shouted.
"Out of the way kid!" Oolong joined in.
But it didn't help. Goku in his great ape form would not listen, and could do nothing as the missile then directly hit him in the chest. He gave out a pained roar as he fell to the ground, and with a powerful crash, slammed down.
The others couldn't see him moving, and assumed the worst.
Pilaf however, was celebrating while looking over the great ape in his plane. "YES! I DID IT! I KILLED HIM!" He shouted, laughing like a loon as he took the credit for himself, even though Mai did the shooting.
Goku's friends however, were in complete shock. "H-he's okay… right?" Bulma asked in a worried tone.
Pilaf and his minions landed down, and Pilaf began to gloat at Goku's body, saying that that's what happens when someone wrecks his castle. Then flew into a rage about how it took him years to build that castle, and began kicking Goku's hand, and then, jumping on his tail.
This however, caused Goku to stir, to which Shu and Mai began to scream. "Aaaaaahhh! Emperor Pilaf, stop!" They begged. But it was too late. Goku began to get up, and roared at Pilaf, causing the would-be tyrant to scream as he and his minions made a run for it to their plane.
Bulma had a smile on her face seeing Goku was alive. However, that was swapped for fear when Goku tossed a chunk of the broken castle at Pilaf plane, and reminded them he wasn't himself right now, as the castle was thrown in their direction. They began to run like the Pilaf brigade and find someplace to hide.
The plane ended up getting hit directly, and crashing. Though miraculously, the Pilaf brigade managed to survive the crash, and were just in a daze with parts of their plane scattered around them.
Meanwhile the others were more shocked they managed to survive at the castle tower just barely missed them. Yamcha, Oolong and Puar decided it would probably be best to just hide until morning, and let Goku just have his fun. But as they were about to walk away, Bulma got their attention, showing she was trapped under the rubble of the castle that was thrown. Yamcha tried to help, but it wouldn't budge an inch.
To make matters worse, Goku noticed them, and began roaring and running to them at top speed. This made Yamcha double his efforts, and begin to tap into Herculean-like strength, giving Bulma room to crawl out, of which she was thankful for. However before they could get away, Goku ended up grabbing Bulma and raising her up, to which she screamed.
"Bulma!" Yamcha shouted in shock.
Goku raised Bulma to his face, and roared, scaring Bulma more. "G-Goku it's me!" she shouted, trying to reach Goku, hoping there was still some part of him in there. Though it didn't seem to work, as he roared more, making Bulma pass out in fear.
The others were trying to think of some way to save her, only to remember Goku has a specific weakness. His tail.
Yamcha had a look of determination as he used his wolf fang fist on some of the castle debris, and (somehow) smashed it into the shape of a scimitar. Just as it looked like Goku was preparing himself to eat Bulma, Yamcha ran forward and slashed his sword as the ape's tail. Sadly the sword broke upon impact with the tail, much to the bandit's despair and shock. Goku began swiping his tail at Yamcha, who tried to dodge the attacks, and ended up latching on to the tail tightly.
This caused Goku to roar in pain, as he tried to get Yamcha off. Him flailing around woke Bulma up, who was screaming again. Oolong and Puar ran to help Yamcha, and dove on the tail. Making Goku be in even more pain as he felt weak.
When Goku stopped moving, Yamcha had an idea. "Puar, turn into something to snip his tail off!" Puar nodded and immediately changed into a giant pair of scissors, moving to the base of Goku's tail. And with a single motion, snipped it off.
Goku roared in pain as he let go of Bulma, and began to change back. Once it was done, Goku's friends ran over and saw Goku back to normal. Though naked and passed out. They all gave a sigh of relief as they decided to wait for Goku to wake up. Bulma used her jacket to cover him up.
"Well that was quite the mess Goku got us into." Oolong grumbled.
"Well atleast our bacon didn't fry." Yamcha replied. Oolong glared at the joke the bandit made at his expense.
"It's… just hard to believe. That Goku and his mom can turn into those things." Bulma said in disbelief. She remembered how kind and sweet Gine was. "They both just seem… way too nice to turn into a bunch of monsters."
"Maybe Goku and his mom are aliens." Oolong spoke, not knowing how right he was.
Just then, Goku groaned and stirred. Bulma smiled. "He's waking up."
Goku groaned more as he got up. "Huh… What happened? Did… did it work?"
"Yeah, it did. Do you remember anything from last night?" Yamcha asked.\
"N-no not really. I can never really remember whenever I change. It's like… I go to sleep, and it's all like a dream I can't remember the next day." Goku explained.
This was something that left his friends surprised and curious. It had to be weird being in your body, yet have no control of it, and not remember what you did.
"Anyway… Oolong, give him some of your clothes. We can't exactly let him walk around naked." Bulma explained.
"Excuse me?! Uh-uh, no way!" Oolong refused.
"Oolong!" Bulma growled in a "I'm not giving you a choice" manner.
Oolong began to nervously sweat. "F-fine… he can have my pants." he said as he took his overalls off and gave them to Goku.
Goku just chuckled as he put them on. "Your legs are a lot shorter than mine."
"Hey, I don't need the wise crack!" Oolong shouted. Goku then fell over. "Oh wow kid, didn't mean to scare you." he said apologetically.
"Y-you didn't. I just… can't seem to stay balanced." Goku said as he tried to get up, but to no avail.
"Not surprising. You'll have to get used to walking without a tail." Yamcha told him.
"What do you mean?" Goku asked in confusion. Just then, he noticed his tail was gone. "M-my tail?! What happened?!" he asked his friends.
"W-well… you were kinda about to eat Bulma, so… we cut it off to save her." Yamcha admitted.
Goku's eyes went wide at this, and turned to Bulma. "Oh no! Are you okay bulma?" he asked in concern.
Bulma was touched by his worry and smiled. "I'm fine Goku. Don't worry. I know you wouldn't have done that if it was you in control."
"Y-yeah… but I'm still so sorry…" Goku said sadly. He really wished he could control himself like that. He nearly killed his grandfather, and now his friends. He really wanted to make sure to never look at the moon again when his tail grows back.
Eventually they all came to the conclusion their adventure was pretty much over for now. The dragon balls were gone, and couldn't be found again for a whole year. So that was it. They realized they might as well split up for now.
Yamcha had gained a bit of a crush on Bulma, and wondered if he could stay with her for a while. She agreed, thinking this might be her chance to get a boyfriend. But when she looked at Goku, she felt… off. She chalked it up to being more and more curious about the boy. Not every girl meets a kid that turns into a monkey monster. Oolong even ended up living in the city with Bulma and Yamcha, along with Puar.
Goku on the other hand, decided to head home to tell his mom and grandpa about his adventure. And then train with master Roshi.. So after a long and heartfelt goodbye, Goku and his friends went their separate ways. Goku however wasn't sad. Instead, he was happy to have gone on such a fun adventure and to have made such wonderful friends.
When he finally returned to his mountain home, he landed down with a bright smile. "Mom! Grandpa! I'm home!" He called out.
Gine went wide-eyed hearing her son's voice. She and Gohan ran outside, and she had a bright smile and tears of joy in her eyes. "Goku… you are really here…" she said as she ran over to him and pulled him into a deep hug. "My baby boy! I missed you so much!" Gohan came outside along with her, and gave a chuckle. He was happy to see the boy again.
Goku smiled as he hugged his mother back. "I missed you too!"
As Gine was hugging him tightly, as she was just so happy to see him, she then noticed something. "Wait… Goku… your tail! What happened to your tail?!" Gine screamed in shock and horror at her baby boy losing his tail somehow.
Goku then suddenly had a nervous look as he backed away from his mother. "W-well… that's what I wanted to tell you… I-it was cut off because… I broke your rule and looked at a full moon…" he said sadly.
"W-what?! What would you do that sweetie? You know how dangerous it is." Gine said with a concerned look on her face.
"I… I didn't have a choice… I had to save my friends…" Goku said, as tears slowly began to run down his face. He knew how important that rule was to his mother. He knew she was going to be mad at him.
However, he was taken by surprise when Gine pulled him into another hug. "Oh sweetie. That was very dangerous… but I'm so proud that you were so willing to save your friends like that."
"Y-you're not mad?"
"Of course not. I was just worried. I know you can't control yourself in that form. But I'm sure you wouldn't do that unless you had no choice." Gine said as she looked at Goku with a smile, and dried his tears.
Gohan walked over and smiled. "My thoughts exactly, Goku. You have nothing to apologize for. Now then, why don't we have something to eat, and you tell us all about your adventure."
Goku and Gine drooled as soon as he said something to eat. They rushed in, causing Gohan to chuckle more as he soon followed. Goku went on and on about his adventure. The places he had been, the people he met, the battles he had fought.
Gohan couldn't help but laugh when Goku told him about how he sent a rabbit to the moon.
Gine was embarrassed when Goku told her that Chichi said her dad was single.
Gohan smiled when Goku mentioned the Ox King. "Ah, it certainly has been a long time since I heard from my old friend. Hehe, I remember all the times we spared against each other. Now look at us. I have a grandson, and he has a daughter. Where does the time go?" he said in reminisins.
"Oh yeah! That reminds me." Goku spoke. "The turtle hermit offered to train me."
"Oh really? Hehe, guess Roshi can see the same potential in you I have." Gohan chuckled. "Well I see no harm in it."
"B-but wait, he only just got back! You can't be serious Gohan…" Gine said with concern.
"Oh come now, Gine. Goku is a growing boy, and a growing boy needs room to grow. Just look at how much he has learned and experienced on his adventure. Imagine how much more he could learn. Like I said when he went on his adventure with Bulma, he can't stay cooped up on this mountain forever." Gohan explained.
Gine still wasn't too sure, before Goku leaned towards her and gave her a big goofy grin. "Please mom! I want to learn from the turtle hermit. I already figured out how to do his kamehameha wave by watching it."
Gohan let out a hearty laugh. "My my, that is impressive! Figuring it out without training. See, Gine? He could grow so much if he was given proper tutelage, you can't tell me you would deny that from him."
Gine looked at the two, before letting out a sigh. "Well… alright… but I hope you don't mind us visiting every once in a while. And I at least want you to stay the night." she said with a small smile.
Goku went starry eyed. "Yes! Thank mom!" Goku cheered as he hugged them both. For the rest of the day, they enjoyed Goku's return. Gine was sad when it started to become nightfall, because it meant that in the morning, Goku would be leaving once again to go train.
As Goku and Gohan were fast asleep, Gine walked out, and looked at the night sky. She let out a sad sigh. "Bardock… I still think about you every day… I miss you so much." she said as tears ran down her eyes. "Our little Kakarot has grown to be such a strong boy. You would be proud if you could see him. I think he will be a great saiyan when he grows up, just like his father…" she said as she just quietly stood under the starry sky.
Meanwhile, in another part of the galaxy, Bardock was doing the same. Thinking of his wife and sons. After being hailed as the savior of the saiyan race by the survivors of his people, Queen Cassava offered for him to be King, so as they could lead together, stating it would be a marriage of convenience and respect.
Though Bardock was hesitant at first, due to still loving his wife, and holding on to hope that one day he would see her again, he knew it had to be done. And so, after a long ceremony, he was named King Bardock, and the people looked to his visions to know what to do next.
After a while, the saiyans had started acting like a gorilla fighting force, attacking Frieza outposts, and leaving no trace or survivors to tell Frieza who it was, as they wanted to keep their presence a secret. The mostly targeted worlds that could easily be forgotten, like the world they settled on, and so, the saiyans' territory slowly grew in secret.
"Bardock!" came a voice, snapping Bardock out of his thoughts.
"Huh? Oh, hello, Cassava." Bardock said to the queen as he turned to her.
"We are needed for coming up with who our new target should be. Mainly, I need help keeping the idiots who want to launch an assault on Frieza in line." the Queen groaned.
Bardock let out a sigh. "Alright, let's go." he said as he and Cassava went off.
And so as a family is split across the galaxy, each of them are preparing for new adventures. Goku's training with the turtle hermit will come and go, and he will make a new friend along the way, as they train under the tutelage of master Roshi. Preparing for the world martial arts tournament. But what will happen then? Find out next time, on Dragon Ball ZMX.
