A/N: Hey there! I was not expecting so many people to actually like and view the story in such a short amount of time! Y'all have surprised me, I hope I don't disappoint!

I'll just say this, the time period and arc I chose to start in was random. I found a complete timeline of the history of the Fairy Tail universe online then rolled randomly to determine where Kilgara would start his journey. This is where it landed! Going off of that, I also want to say that most of the random rewards from quests and gacha tokens will be random as well, I have this weird system on paper that I'm trying out. That's how I determined the perks and traits for the last chapter as well. I do have a few things planned as far as things like that go, but for the most part it'll be random! If you have any suggestions of items/abilities/rewards/penalties you want to see, feel free to tell me and I'll add them to my lists! I decided to do it this way to try and make it more fun for me as the writer; I feel like it's also fun for the reader too, but maybe that's just me.

Feel free to review and critic, just don't be rude please! :)

"Hey you guys?" Happy asked softly, "Does anyone happen to know where Erza went?"

Natsu let out a breath from where he was laying down, his arms behind his head, while Lucy turned to Happy.

"She just needs to be alone for a little while," Lucy said, her voice soft and sad.

Natsu, Lucy, and the rest had just defeated the Oracion Seis. Under normal circumstances, they would be celebrating their victory. They had just come out on top of their greatest battle yet! Half of them had nearly died, facing off against Cobra, Angel, Midnight, Brain, then Zero and all the others, and they persevered! Nirvana was destroyed and Cait Shelter was safe; the world was safe from this threat. But none of them could bring themselves to celebrate. Jellal had just been taken into custody. The new Magic Council had been quick to apprehend both the Seis and Jellal.

Natsu didn't like any of this one bit. As far as he was concerned, Jellal was now a friend who could be trusted, and he was someone important to Erza. He knew Erza was sad; he could smell her tears, and faintly hear her cries, off in the distance. Yet there was nothing he could do.

Small footsteps made him glance to the side from where he was laying; Wendy was heading in Erza's direction.

Natsu took a deep breath, closing his eyes before breathing out. When he opened his eyes again, he was greeted by a strange sight. A bright red light had opened a hole in the heavens. He stood up, a little awed at what he was seeing.

"Lucy," He pointed to the night sky, "Look up there! Is that some kind of star?"

Lucy turned to Natsu when he called her name, then looked up to where he was pointing. Her eyes widened, "I don't think so…"

Gray, Jura, and Ichiya looked up as well, "What is that…?" Gray asked.

Natsu narrowed his eyes. The light, whatever it was, was getting bigger. And brighter. There was something else too. A strange noise…

Natsu's eyes widened, "Everybody get clear, now!" He cried out. He scooped Happy up as he grabbed a hold of Lucy's hand, before he booked it, running as hard as his aching legs would carry him. This was bad. All of them were still weak from the earlier fighting!

He chanced a glance behind him. Jura, Ichiya, and Gray were hot on their heels, looking up, with Charla close behind them. Wendy and Erza were nowhere to be seen. Natsu looked back up; the light was descending rapidly!

KA-BOOM!

The light hit the remains of the city of Nirvana, causing a shock wave of pure force to knock everyone off their feet! Natsu managed to catch Lucy, Happy squished between them, as they went down.

"Ow…" Lucy rubbed the back of her head as she stood up, slowly stabilizing herself as she climbed off of Natsu, who groaned as he too stood up, Happy going plop on the ground.

"What the heck is going on!?" Natsu shouted as he readied his fists, looking toward the formerly moving city, only for his eyes to widen in shock.

"Natsu?" Lucy asked, turning her eyes in the direction he was looking in. She took in a sharp breath as her own eyes widened.

Nirvana was no longer there. In place of where the ruins of the city once stood, was a massive crater. Patches of red light, almost magma-like in appearance, were splotched all over the massive crater.

"What in the world…?" Gray stood up, looking at the carnage, "What was that?"

"I'm not sure," Jura said, moving closer to a patch of red light, which seemed to be burned into the ground, "This is…pure magic. Pure etherion…"

"Man…" Ichiya said, just as shocked as the rest of them.

Natsu settled back into his stance, getting ready for a fight. Was it the Oracion Seis? Had they escaped the Council and come back to face them again? Wait…

"Erza! Wendy!" Natsu made a beeline toward the crater, running in the direction he last saw them in.

"Natsu! Wait!" Lucy cried out as she ran after him, concern for Erza bubbling in her chest. Did they get caught up in the explosion? If they did, then…there was no way anything could survive such a blast! Everything was completely annihilated…

Lucy ran faster to catch up to Natsu. Natsu was sniffing the air, taking in every sight and scent he could; it was no use, the area smelled completely burned, any trace of Wendy or Erza's scents were gone!

As they neared toward the center of the crater, Natsu smelled something that made his mind go completely blank. He stopped, causing Lucy to barrel into him.

"Ouch!" Lucy cried out as they collided, "Give me a warning, will you Natsu?" She rubbed her face before turning to face him, her brow furrowed. "Natsu?" Her face softened as she saw Natsu's gaze trained on something in front of him. She looked in the direction he was facing, confusion blooming in her mind. He was looking in the center of the crater.

"It can't be…" Natsu whispered, "This scent…there's no way…" Natsu suddenly took off again, running for the center of the crater.

"Natsu!" Lucy cried out, exasperated, "Did you find them? What's happening?" She took off after him.

Natsu came to a stop near the center of the crater. What he saw caused his eyes to widen as his jaw went slack. Sitting in the center of the smoking crater was a black stone. The stone was large, just smaller than Happy's egg had been. Spiraling throughout the black stone was a deep red color. The red spirals gave off a faint, eerie glow, so low he could barely tell it was there. Natsu slowly approached the stone; the closer he got, he saw that the stone in fact resembled the oval shape of an egg. The longer he looked, the more he was sure of what he was seeing.

Lucy stopped by Natsu's side, panting a little to catch her breath, with Happy flying just behind them.

"Natsu," Lucy asked, her eyes going from him to the black object, "Natsu…is that an egg?"

"It sure looks like it," Natsu crouched down, sniffing the egg, "I don't believe it…" he said, his eyes widening once more before a grin so wide split his face.

"Lucy! Happy!" He called out, "This is a dragon egg!"

"What?" Lucy turned from Natsu back to the egg, "How can you be so sure? Didn't you think Happy's egg was a dragon egg too?"

"That's true," Happy nodded, "You sure this isn't another egg like mine?"

"Almost positive!" Natsu bent down and picked up the egg, "It's scent is different! It reminds me of Igneel! And look at it, how can this be anything but a dragon egg?"

"Natsu!" That was Erza's voice! Natsu had almost forgotten why he ran through the crater in the first place, "What's going on!?"

Natsu, Lucy and Happy turned to see Erza, Gray, Wendy, Charla, Jura, and Ichiya running toward them, concern clear on their faces. Erza was looking a little on the rough side, but everyone seemed to be doing fine.

"Erza! Wendy!" Lucy cried out in relief, "Thank goodness you guys are okay!"

"What happened to you Erza?" Happy asked, hovering closer to everyone.

"I had to use my adamantine armor to protect me and Wendy from the shock wave of that blast," Erza panted, placing her hands on her knees as she caught her breath.

"What happened?" Gray asked, looking around. He saw Natsu holding the egg, "What is that? Some kind of stone?"

"It's a dragon egg!" Natsu exclaimed, ecstatic.

"What!?" Wendy cried out, before a small smile appeared on her face, "Really!? That's amazing Natsu!"

"Wait, how can you be sure it's a dragon egg?" Erza asked.

"It has a scent that reminds me of Igneel!" Natsu held out the egg happily, "I wonder when it'll hatch?"

"Hold on, Natsu," Lucy said, "We don't know for sure if that's even an egg. For all we know it could be a meteorite of some kind; it fell from the sky!"

"Why would a meteorite smell like a dragon, weirdo?" Natsu tilted his head at Lucy, a smile coming to his face when he saw her reaction to being called weird.

"Jura," Jura turned to Gray as he spoke to him, "Have you ever seen anything like this?"

"I can't say that I have," Jura said, "Whether it's a dragon egg or a meteorite, one thing is certain," he cast his eyes about the horizon, the first rays of sunlight crossing the dark sky, "It's powerful."

The rest of the group looked around them as well, the massive crater and strange burning light leaving a strange sense of awe and fear in them. Well, most of them anyway. Natsu was still excitedly holding the egg, not taking his eyes of the thing.

Lucy turned back towards Natsu. She couldn't help but smile at his excitement and enthusiasm. She doubted it was really a dragon egg; but if it made Natsu happy, then for the moment she would support him in his belief until they could confirm what that thing really is. And who knows, in this crazy world of hers it very well could be a dragon egg.

"In any case," Lucy said, putting her hand on Natsu's shoulder, "We should get some rest. We've all been through a lot. We can take this back to the guild; maybe the master will have some insight for us."

"There's also the guild's library," Erza agreed, "But yes. Now that we know there's no immediate threat, let's find a place to rest."

"You can all come to Cait Shelter," Wendy smiled at everyone, "We can even throw a little celebration later!"

"Sounds like a good deal to me!" Natsu gave a big smile, hoisting the egg above his head, "Let's go, Happy!"

"Aye sir!"

Lucy looked behind her as they walked down the road. She smiled softly as she saw Natsu talking animatedly with Wendy. They were talking about Fairy Tail and the supposed "egg" they had found.

Wendy seemed to be doing better. Just yesterday, her whole world had come crashing down around her. Who would've thought that the Nirvit "descendants," all the members of Cait Shelter, were actually just illusions? Lucy couldn't imagine how traumatic it must be to find out that everyone you grew up around, everyone you cared for, turned out to be fake, not even real. On the other hand, those illusions were impressive feats of magic. Illusions with their own personalities? Talk about impressive!

Regardless, Lucy was glad that Wendy seemed to be doing better. She could tell that Natsu was doing his best to help cheer the smaller girl up; he was surprisingly considerate when it counted.

She turned her gaze back to the road, wishing they could ride in a carriage or something. She was still exhausted from all the fighting. Half of them were still covered in bandages, herself included! She breathed in a deep breath of fresh air, reveling in the beautiful moment of peace she and her friends found themselves in. Right now, it was her, Natsu, Gray, Erza, Happy, Wendy, and Charla. They had parted ways with Blue Pegasus and Lamia Scale not too long ago; they were now traveling down the road, heading to Magnolia. Lucy couldn't wait to sleep in her own bed again! They had only been gone for a couple of days, but it felt like weeks had passed!

"Guys!" Natsu suddenly exclaimed, causing everyone to turn to him.

Lucy and the others stopped walking when they saw that Natsu had stopped moving. He was holding the supposed egg out in front of him, his eyes wide. A smile soon broke across his face, "I think it's hatching!" Natsu nearly began jumping back and forth on his feet, he was so excited!

"C'mon, Pyro," Gray said, turning back around, "It's just your overactive imagination."

"Wanna say that to my face, Freezer Burn!?" Natsu growled, clenching a fist at Gray.

"You lookin' for a fight!?" Gray whirled back around, clenching his own fists.

"That's enough, you two!" Erza called out over her shoulder.

"Yes ma'am!" Natsu and Gray exclaimed together, both jumping into a stance of salute.

Lucy chuckled as they all resumed moving forward. She looked to Natsu, who was moving with the rest of them, but his eyes were trained on his supposed dragon egg. He was holding it with a surprising amount of care.

"What do you think, Erza?" The red head turned to Lucy, "Could that really be a dragon egg?"

"Hm…well, Natsu's nose has yet to steer us wrong," Erza said, glancing behind her, eyes on the black oval Natsu was carrying, "But a dragon egg…I'm not so sure about that. We'll have to get the master's opinion before coming to any certain conclusions," she turned back to the road ahead of them, "Let's just hope it's not dangerous."

Lucy couldn't help but hope that as well. But knowing their luck, she had a feeling Erza just jinxed them.

"Long story short, Wendy and Charla are Fairy Tail's newest members," Erza announced, "So you better treat them well!"

"It's a pleasure to meet you all," Wendy smiled as she bowed, happy to be getting to know her new guild.

The Fairy Tail guild was ecstatic to have Wendy and Charla as members, and everyone couldn't stop going on and on about how adorable they were. And they went even more nuts when they found out that Wendy was a Dragon Slayer just like Natsu and Gajeel!

"We're glad you made it back safely," Mira Jane smiled at Erza as she approached her and Master Makarov at the bar.

"Hello master, Mira," Erza greeted with a smile of her own.

Makarov nodded his greeting, "Great work Erza," he commended, "I'm sure things will quiet down now that the Oracion Seis are out of the picture. And thanks for bringing two precious, yet powerful additions back to the guild with you."

Erza nodded, smiling at the praise Makarov gave her and the others, before she turned toward Natsu, who was still holding the black oval.

"There is something I need to discuss with you…"

"Hm?" Makarov tilted his head at her, before a shouting caught his attention.

"Happy! Lucy!" Natsu shouted, his voice bouncing with excitement, "I felt something move in here! It wobbled, the egg wobbled!"

"Really?" Happy flew over, eyeing the egg, his best friend's excitement rolling onto him, "Maybe it's a giant fish!"

"No way, buddy," Natsu shook his head as he ran to Lucy.

"Natsu," Lucy began, an amused smile on her face, "Are you sure you felt it move? You've been jumping around ever since we got back."

"Hey, I've been careful!" Natsu exclaimed indignantly. Which was true; Lucy could acknowledge that he was surprisingly gentle with the black oval.

"Ha ha!" Gray laughed, "The day you're actually careful is the day all hell freezes over, Flamebrain!"

"What was that, Frosty?" Natsu sneered, turning towards Gray, his fist lighting on fire.

Before Erza could say a word to get them to stop fighting, the black oval in Natsu's other hand wobbled, quite visibly. All thoughts of Gray and fighting immediately left Natsu as he excitedly looked back at the egg, before setting it down.

"See that!?" Natsu asked, "I told you!"

"I'm not sure about this…" Lucy said hesitantly, "Take a step back, Natsu, we have no idea what we're really dealing with here!" Lucy went up to Natsu, placing her hand on his shoulder to try and pull him back a little.

"What's this about an egg hatching?" Makarov began approaching, "You know how I feel about pets in my guildhall!"

Natsu opened his mouth to respond, but a cracking noise made everyone in the vicinity freeze. All eyes looked towards the black oval, which now had a crack going down the middle of it.

The egg wobbled more fiercely, almost frantically. More cracks appeared along its surface, before a single, black, bat-like wing burst forth.

"I don't believe it…" Lucy said, taking a step around Natsu, standing at his side.

The rest of the egg practically exploded apart.
