Punishment

Renee Dwyer had just arrived at the Swan residence. She knocked on the door and a few minutes later her ex husband opened the door.

"Hello Renee." He moved aside to let her in.

"Hello Charlie." She walked past him and smiled when she saw that the house hadn't changed since she was here last.

"I'm sorry to call you here, but as I said before I need your help." He said.

"It's okay. She is our daughter and from what you said she needs both her parents to punish her this time." She said.

"Should we discuss her punishment with or without her?" He asked.

"Without her." She answered.

"After we punish her I need to talk to you about something." He said.

"Okay. Now list her offenses and I will write them down." She took out a pencil and a piece of paper.

Charlie nodded. "She has been late twenty times and hasn't come home three times. She has skipped school every time it is sunny. Not to mention that she has been ignoring everything I say and ignoring you. Yesterday she said that she was going to the Cullen house to hang out with Edward and Alice but when I called Carlisle he said that she hadn't been there all day."

Renee wrote it down. "I think that each offense should be a different punishment."

"I agree."

"Let's start with her punishment for being late." She said.

"We can't ground her since it doesn't work." He said.

"Since she has been late twenty times she should do twenty hours of community service." Renee suggested.

"Good and her punishment for not coming home three times, she has to do volunteer work for three days." He said.

"That is perfect Charlie. How many times has she skipped school?" She asked.

"There have been five sunny days since she started skipping on those days so that means five times she has skipped school." He said.

"So she has to work for you at the police station for five hours for five days." She said.

"You're a genius Renee. For her ignoring me and you then we should return the favor after her punishment has been given." He wanted her to understand how it feels.

"For lying she will be escorted anytime she leaves the house." She said.

"Yes and if she doesn't do any of the punishments then start taking away her things." He suggested.

"Good." She was pleased with what they came up with.

"I will go get-"

DING-DONG. The doorbell interrupted him. He answered it and was surprised to see that it was Teddy.

"What's wrong Teddy?" He asked.

"When I opened my curtains a few seconds ago I saw Bella climb out the window and thought that you should know. Harry said that she was in trouble and if I saw her leave then to tell you." He said.

"Thank you Teddy." Teddy nodded and went home.

Charlie went back to the living room. Renee saw that he was pissed.

"What happened?" She asked.

"My neighbor's little brother saw her leave a few seconds ago and came over to tell me." He told her.

"Dammit."

"I'm going to call Carlisle and then I am going to look around for her." He said.

"I am going to look too." She said.

Charlie nodded and Renee left. Charlie quickly called Carlisle. It rang once before Carlisle picked up.

"Is something wrong Charlie?" He asked.

"Yes. While Renee and I were discussing Bella's punishment, Bella snuck out. I was hoping you could check to make sure she isn't with Edward." He said.

"She hasn't since we sent Edward to Esme's cousin, but she might be with Alice so I will call you back to tell you whether or not she is with Alice." He said.

"Thank you."

"No problem."

Charlie left and started to drive around town. He called Renee at a red light and found out that she hadn't found her yet. When they find Bella, she would be in so much trouble that she would regret ever disobeying the rules. Renee went back to Charlie's house to see if Bella returned.

(With Alice and Bella)

"I knew that you would make it." Alice said excitedly.

"Of course you did." Bella said to the vampire seer.

"Let's shop." Bella nodded as they shopped.

What Bella didn't know was that her father had already found out that she had snuck out or that Harry and Teddy were on their way to the Seattle mall. They had to go there to buy some clothes for Teddy since he needed more cold weather clothes. They were walking into a clothing store when Harry spotted them.

"Cub go inside and find some clothes that you like while I make a phone call." He said.

"Okay Harry."

Harry called Charlie's house after Teddy left. He was surprised to hear a woman's answer.

"Hello?"

"Hello I am looking for Charlie Swan." He said.

"Oh he is not in. I can give him a message. By the way I am Renee Dwyer, his ex wife." She said.

"You're Bella's mum, right?" He asked.

"Yes." She confirmed.

"Well I just saw your daughter at the Seattle mall. She is with a girl with short, black, spiky hair. She is also short and very pale." He informed her.

"That is where she went. Thank you, mr.?" She was relieved that her daughter was alright but angry that she decided to break the rules and go shopping.

"Harry Lupin. I am Charlie's Neighbor." He said.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome." They hung up and Harry went inside to find Teddy.

(With Renee)

After she got off the phone with Harry she called Charlie. It took all of her willpower not to go to the mall and get her daughter herself. She was very angry about her daughter's actions. She took a deep breath to help herself calm down. Charlie soon answered the phone.

"Was she there Renee?" He asked.

"No, but your neighbor called and said that he saw that she was at the Seattle mall. He also said she was with a girl." She said.

"Does he know who?" He asked.

"No, he said that the girl was short, very pale and had short, spiky black hair." Renee said.

"That is Alice Cullen. Call her dad Carlisle and tell him to meet me at the mall." He said,

"Alright." He told her the phone number then he hung up.

She dialed the phone number. She was surprised that the phone was answered quickly.

"Did you find Bella, Charlie?" The doctor asked.

"Hello my name is Renee Dwyer and yes we found her. Charlie wants you to meet him at the Seattle mall since your daughter is there with Bella." She said.

"I will." He hung up.

She decided to clean as she waited for Charlie and Bella to come home. She wasn't doing too well with the wait and she needed something to do.

(At the mall)

Bella and Alice were in a makeup department when the two fathers arrived. Harry saw them and caught Charlie's gaze and waved him over.

"Hey Charlie."

"Hello Harry. Carlisle, this is Harry and his brother Teddy. Harry, Teddy, this is Carlisle." He introduced them.

Harry nodded as Teddy waved. Carlisle nodded back at Harry and then waved to Teddy.

"Bella and her friend are in the makeup department over there." He informed them.

"Thank you."

Harry nodded before a growling sound came from Teddy's stomach. He turned to his baby brother.

"Hungry Teddy bear?" Harry teased his brother.

"Yeah. Don't call me that." He growled.

"But Teddy bear." He whined.

"I'm warning you Harry." He said.

"Love you too Teddy bear." Harry walked off smirking.

Teddy followed after Harry fuming. Charlie and Carlisle were laughing at the display they had put on before they got serious and went to find their daughters. They left in the direction Harry gave him.

The girls walked out and saw their fathers. They both knew that they were in deep shit especially Bella.

"Hi daddy." Bella said, hoping that her father would be appeased by being called that.

"Bella get your ass to the car." He said.

"Alice I will follow you home." He said.

The two girls walked outside and then went in separate directions. Their fathers followed after them. The drive home seemed very long to the girls.

When Bella and Charlie got home they were met with the sight of Renee in the doorway glaring at Bella. Seeing her Bella knew that there was no way out of punishment.

"Bella, come inside and sit on the couch."

Bella quickly did as her mother ordered. She sat down as her parents looked down at her. They looked at her in disappointment and anger.

"Isabella Swan, you are in big trouble. For you coming home late you will do twenty hours of community service. For not coming home you must do three days of volunteer work. For five days you will work for your father at the station for five hours. That is your punishment for skipping school. Since you saw fit to lie to your father about where you were going yesterday from now on you will be escorted every time you leave the house. For sneaking out you will have to donate something that is important to you. If you fail to do any of these punishments your things will be taken from you." Renee told her daughter who looked at them both in shock.

"But moth-"

"There are no buts Isabella. Now go to your room and find the item that will be donated." She said.

"Yes mom." Bella said in a defeated voice.

Bella went up to her room. She couldn't believe this was happening to her at all. She grabbed the necklace that Edward had given her. She knew that her mother would know whether the item picked was important to her or not.

(With the Cullens)

Alice was worried now. Carlisle had demanded that they could not interact with Bella since she was in trouble. Edward was sent to their sister clan since he helped her break the rules and then refused to listen to Carlisle.

"Alice, you disobeyed my orders. Therefore you are also going to be sent to our sister clan." He said.

"But Carlis-."

"There are no buts. Go pack your bags. Jasper will take you." He ordered.

Alice turned around and saw that Jasper was not happy with her. The look he was giving her made her flinch. She did what she was told and packed her bags. Jasper was waiting for her in the car.

"I really screwed up this time, didn't I?" She asked.

"Yes." Jasper said in an emotionless voice.

"I will do everything I can to get called back. Then I will apologize to Charlie and finally I will make it up to you." She said.

Jasper nodded as he tore out of town at top speed. Alice knew that it would take awhile to make up for the mistake that she made but unlike Edward she was determined to do it.
