Bullying
(Cullen Residence)
After Carlisle changed Bella's medical results Charlie took her home. The vampire/doctor continued on with his day. He could already hear some of the doctors, nurses, patients, and visitors gossiping. They wondered why the sheriff had brought his daughter in and what was wrong with her. They had heard about her behavior and were disgusted and horrified. Many felt bad for Charlie. The blonde pretended he couldn't hear them but was once again annoyed that these people couldn't mind their own business.
He was really happy when it was finally time for him to go home. Many of them had asked what was going on. They were upset when he told them he couldn't reveal any medical information on Bella. Luckily the other doctors and nurses stopped gossiping and helped him out there. Now it was time to talk to his family.
"Alice? Could you come here please?" He asked once he was in the living room.
"Sure." She wondered what was going on and if she was in trouble. [What did I do? I haven't gone near Bella.]
"Don't worry you aren't in trouble." He assured her.
"Oh." That did make her relax.
Jasper came to her side. The others followed behind him. They sat down on the couch and looked at Carlisle.
"Just give me a second. I need to call Edward." He told her.
"Okay." She and the others were confused.
Their coven leader and head of the family took out his cell and called his oldest childe. It didn't take long for Edward to pick up.
"Carlisle?" He wasn't sure why the man was calling him.
"Hello Edward. I'm calling because I had a talk with Charlie Swan and learned something interesting." He told them.
"What is it?" Esme asked.
"Charlie is a wizard." He revealed.
"WHAT?!" The whole household yelled.
"That was my reaction." Carlisle smirked.
"B-but we would have felt and smelt that from him." His mate said.
"He used magic to conceal himself. He knows how some vampires hate wizards and he hid his scent so that they wouldn't realize he was one and be targeted. Bella is a squib. His ex wife left so that he didn't have to hide that part of himself from his daughter. They didn't want her to know that she couldn't use magic. He knew that we were vampires." He explained.
"He knew?" Rose asked in shock. "And he still let his daughter date Edward?"
"He did. He wasn't too happy with it but he wasn't going to try and control her. He knew that if he told her she couldn't she might rebel and date him behind his back. Plus she seemed really happy with you." He said.
"Oh." They were very shocked but they did see where he was coming from.
"Now he only told me because he found out why Bella was acting the way that she was. It wasn't because she was going through a rebellious phase." The oldest vampire in the coven said.
"Why?" Esme asked.
"A friend of hers from Phoenix had sent her a bracelet. The bracelet had a personality curse on it. That means that the personality of the wearer, Bella, would change to a bad one. It also affects those who spend long periods around them and have had any physical contact, like a hug or kiss." He explained.
"That's why Alice and Edward acted differently." Jasper caught onto what Carlisle was saying.
"Exactly." He nodded.
"Wouldn't we have noticed?" Esme asked.
"We did. We have commented on it more than once." He answered his mate.
"We played it off or when we tried to talk to them about it they argued." She said.
"Yes."
"How is Bella?" Emmett asked.
"She doesn't remember anything after she sent the bracelet to the time the charm was removed. Charlie told her that when she was visiting her mom she had a bad fall. The doctors missed a brain bleed in the personality area of the brain. She began acting differently. She suddenly fainted and that's when the bleeding must have stopped and now she's back to her old self." He told them.
"Why doesn't she remember but we do?" Edward asked.
"She's still human and you're a vampire. We have a hard time forgetting things. Plus the curse was removed from her. It was suddenly gone while your twos is wearing off. She had the curse on her full time while the curse on you two was leaching off the original." He explained.
"I see."
"Now that you both have been away from Bella and the curse is removed it will wear off. I was warned you two might get confused as the fake feelings fade and your true feelings return." Carlisle informed them.
"Okay." Edward said.
"I understand." Alice said.
"Edward? Alice?" Rose spoke up. "I'm sorry."
"What?"
"Huh?" They all looked at the blonde in confusion.
"I'm sorry for treating you both so horribly. Even if you hadn't been under the influence of the spell I was wrong to treat you that way." She said.
"Rose-" Edward went to speak but she cut him off.
"I was so rude and I am sorry. I was angry and I let my temper do the talking." She said.
"I understand." The bronze haired vampire said. "I forgive you."
"Me too." Alice said. "Why were you angry?"
"Like I have said she was willing to give up her family to become a vampire and you both were encouraging her and not understanding how Charlie and Rene would feel." She answered.
"Oh." She hugged Rose. "We weren't thinking about them."
"I know. I think the spell was forcing you both to see it from one side and one side only. It was frustrating that you were both so callous about her family." She explained.
"You're a good person Rose." Edward said.
"What?" She looked at the phone in confusion.
"You were trying to look out for Charlie and Rene when we weren't." He told her.
"Thank you. Now get you ass home." She said.
That made them laugh. "Alright."
The phone was hung up. They went back to what they were doing. Rose and Alice went off to feed and have a much needed talk and bonding time.
(With Teddy)
Teddy was waiting for his dad to pick him up. He couldn't wait to hang out with his family. It had been awhile since he saw the other kids of the family. He wouldn't get to see Charlie and Oliver's since they were at Hogwarts. He was disappointed but he would see them at Yule. His excitement faded when he spotted a few of his classmates walking towards him.
"Hey nerd!" One of them said to him.
Teddy sighed and looked at the kid who had tried to bully him. "Afternoon Mr. Matthews." He greeted him politely. "How may I help you?"
"You can help by getting out of our class." He sneered.
"I'm afraid I can't do that." He said.
"Excuse me?" He asked in shock.
"I said that I can't do that." He repeated.
"And why not?" He asked.
"It's not my choice." He answered.
"Tell whoever it is that you want to leave." He glared.
"No." Teddy said.
"Why you!" He yelled.
"Is there a problem?" A red haired man asked.
"Dad!"
Teddy was quick to hug Arthur. The man hugged him back. Before anyone could say anything else their teacher, Mr. Williams, and the principal, Mr. Collins, walked over to them. The kid who was picking on Teddy was taken to the office and his friends dispersed. Arthur looked at his son.
"Teddy?"
"Alex Matthews hates that I'm in his class due to my age and has tried to pick on me before." He answered his unasked question.
"Ah yes Harry was telling me about it. Well let's get you home." He said.
"Okay." The two left.
