Chapter 6 - Ends that Justify the Means
Tranquility.
For the first time in the entirety of the day many unfortunate events transpired around Babidi and his maniacal creature Majin Boo, it was peaceful. The ominously powerful energy felt by the monster had all but vanished. Even Vegehan's seemed to quiet down into a subtle whisper in comparison to the heavenly shout it cascaded across creation.
"Thank goodness it's over," Dende breathed out with a sigh of relief, falling onto his haunches near the seven Dragon Balls, temporarily sealing the Dragon for the battle's climax, "I never thought this nightmare would end."
"Neither have I," Kibitoshin said with a relieved smile, not having the energy to do more than sit upon the rubble-strewn earth, "it was all a risky gamble. One plan after another seemed to crumble and be for naught. I'm just glad the Earth didn't have to be sacrificed in the end in order for Majin Buu to be dispatched for good."
"I'm just thankful we didn't have to sacrifice anymore than we have," Dende laughed morosely, looking around the decimated landscape that made up the earthen horizon for as far as he could see, "I don't see how we could give anymore than has been."
With an agreeable nod, the Supreme Kai descended into another bout of dreamy euphoria. The joy spreading across his being was undeniable, as his lifelong goal and ambition had been fulfilled. Even if it wasn't by his own hands, to see both Babidi and Majin Buu's lives come to an end was something he could feel ; as if weights of a thousand tons had been lifted off his shoulders, he could finally feel lighthearted and assured as he used to be a lifetime ago.
"Thank you, Vegehan," Kibitoshin thought to himself, closing his eyes with a bow of his head, allowing a solemn expression cross his features, "your sacrifice won't be taken lightly."
Meanwhile, in another corner of the collective group of heroes and survivors, a particular man in question began to question the scope of what has happen. Not only has everything he perceived before him wasn't a dream, -duely confirmed after a dozen arm pinches- but that everything he convinced the world of and himself had been true all along. Wish Granting Dragons, gods, and super powered warriors all existed in this Universe, a dramatic contrast to the simplistic reality he had blinded himself with.
As Bee played around in the dirt, barking and yipping happily, Mark couldn't help but look over at the stoic warrior closest to him. The triclopian looked intimidating, even with the more serene and relaxed appearance his visage adopted upon Buu's obvious defeat. His three eyed face made him the most human and yet most unnatural appearing fighter of those who've assembled around him. Even the paint-faced midget that sat cross legged near his heels seemed far more normal in comparison.
Crawling on his hands and feet quietly, as to not upset the docile mood everyone was under, Mark cleared his throat when he reached a handful of meters proximity to them an in question.
Upon hearing Mark's obvious grated voice cough aloud, his eyes twitched with annoyance, contrasting with the polite tone he spoke out in a rehearsed manner to Earth's World Champion, "Need something?"
"Uh...yeah, ermmmm," Mark began, unsure exactly what to ask at first. After a few seconds of scratching his rough chin with contemplation, the famed Martial Artist looked up at the more veteran and forgotten one with a voiced query, "what exactly was up with that Dragon, coming out of those balls?"
"You mean the Dragon Balls?" Tien asked pointedly, his three eyes now firmly fixed upon Mark's.
"Yeah, those!" Mr. Satan exclaimed with a forward thrust of his hand, "when that Guardian ki-er-guy summoned him, it seemed like he was asking him a favor rather than commanding him. Is that Dragon some sort of genie or pet of his?"
"Explaining it to you would be a pain," Tien drawled out at first, causing an obvious disheartened look across Mr. Satan's face. After seeing that, Tien shrugged with a sigh escaping him, unfolding his left hand to raise up and explain visibly for the dim-witted man, "first off, that isn't just some Dragon. His name is Shenron, the Eternal Dragon, a being that is harnessed and summoned through the power of the Dragon Balls. These particular ones can allow anyone who's summoned him to be granted any three wishes desired. That's the long and short of it."
"I knew it!" Mark pumped his fist as he shouted aloud, "I knew that thing was some sort of genie!"
Rolling all three of his eyes, Tien couldn't help but turn his head away from the afro-haired fighter. His hopes of not being pestered were dashed as he heard Satan's voice yet another question aloud to him.
"So, if this Dragon can grant any wish, is it possible that he can bring anything or say anyone back to life?" Mark asked, in a hopeful tone.
"That's right," Tien nodded, remembering one of the primary uses the Dragon Balls have been employed for over the course of their discovery of them. "Why? You have someone in mind you want back?"
"Maybe," He said in a low tone, standing up to look down at his shuffling feet. "I'm not sure if its possible. Still trying to get around the idea that guys with multiple eyes, people who can fly, and magic dragons can exist. This all felt like a nightmare brought to life, and I'm not even quite sure how this is all so real..."
"A bit jarring, isn't it?" Tien asked with a smirk. "Though I was hoping after what happened at the Cell Games, you'd be a bit more open-minded to such things you've been so ignorant to. I guess idiocy doesn't need seven years to cure it; just one really bad day."
"Yeah. I really have been a big idiot, haven't I?" Mark admitted glumly, sitting on his haunches, arms resting on his knees as he let out a sigh. "I just hope she can forgive me..."
Quiet had subdued any further conversation among the remaining survivors of Earth. With the three-eyed warrior taking in what he heard from the champ, he looked over to see his diminutive friend lowering from the sky he had rose up to check for any sign of Vegehan. The look on his face told him everything; they really had won.
"Hey, Tien," Chiaotzu greeted his compatriot as he lowered to shoulder level to the bigger man. "I feel Vegehan heading this way!"
"He's right," Dende murmured out loud, turning to look at the patient Kaioshin whom kept his arms crossed across his elaborate clothed person. "It's weaker than before but I know that signature from anywhere."
"Good," Kibitoshin nodded with decisiveness, looking over his shoulder to see a rapidly approaching bright light that grew in size as it gained proximity. "We'll decide what to do when he gets here."
"You're the Supreme Kai. Why don't you decide that on your own?"
"Elder-"
"Fine-Fine, I'll keep my mouth shut."
Sighing, the Creator Lord blinked and saw Vegehan drop gently to the ground. He looked ragged and bloodied but his energy continued to thrum strong. His gloves were burned away, much like his dark blue gi blown off to see a burnt and lacerated under shirt sporting scabbed wounds with dark flecks of blood around the point of injury. Smears of blood came off split lips and a gash up in his scalp just above his right eye. The black obi wrapped around his waist was ripped a bit along with his deep blue pants, dirtied boots keeping him upright.
"Hope I didn't keep you guys waiting," Vegehan crisply apologized, looking over at every survivor present. "I did some checking on the rest of the planet. Apart from some empty bunkers and what looked like a fortified city I couldn't feel any Ki signatures. This world's a mess and hardly any life from what I've seen. Not even sure how many animals are alive with the damage that's been done."
"It's a good thing that we still have one more wish left for Earth's Dragon, then," Kibitoshin responded with a soft smile. "You did well, Vegehan. I only wish there was more that I had done."
"So it really was you guys who used the Dragon Balls to-" The Potara Saiyan began to say until he did a double take at the taller and older looking Namekian. He was now easily at shoulder length to him and developed some more refined chiseled features on his face. For all intents and purposes he looked like Piccolo's nephew or estranged son. "Dende! You're...bigger. When did that happen?!"
"The Supreme Kai transferred his own Ki into me and made sure it remained my own," The teenage Kami said with a humbled smile, waving his hand at the long-haired Kaioshin. "Without him, the wishes from Shenron couldn't have worked as well as they have."
"Huh," Vegehan turned to look at the fused Kaioshin, looking at him with an upraised brow while crossing his arms over his injured chest. "The Supreme Kai used the Potara earrings with Kibito, it seems. I thought you'd be taller. Still, good to know you can pull your own weight when it counts."
"I'm...thankful to have received such high praise from the likes of you," Kibitoshin humbly bowed his head to the powerful mortal.
"Stop bowing, you fool! You're a Supreme Kai, not a mortal! Show a bit more backbone, dammit!"
Ignoring him altogether, he rose to look at the injured Saiyan with scrutinizing eyes. Stepping forward he waved his hands over the injured fused entity and created a mesmerizing lime colored light. Minutes later and Vegehan's injuries were erased, giving him a feeling of renewal that he took both with awe and gratification.
"There. I've never done it as a Fusion but Kibito's restorative abilities granted to me certainly helps," Kibitoshin explained as Vegehan inspected his tattered person at the disappearance to all wounds. Seeing the condition of his apparel, he aimed his hand at the Saiyan once more and generated a beam of golden light to hit his person. Seconds later his Potara born attire was as it had been before the fight, giving the impression he hadn't done battle in the first place. "There. Good as new."
"Probably even better, what with the Zenkai I most likely gained from this fight," Vegehan admonished with a smile, lightly shadow boxing a few times to get a good feel of the increased store of power lying within him. Inhaling deeply, he let out a sigh, erasing the grin to a look much more solemn. Turning to the Supreme Kai he placed his hands on his hips to look into his eyes. "I need some more favors from you. Can you contact the Namekians from here?"
"My Omniscience isn't perfect but I think I can manage that," Kibitoshin acquiesced, closing his eyes soon after. His godly senses soon expanded outward, leaving the solar system and expanding into the galaxy. He knew Namekian energy well, and their purity was almost impossible to miss. It surprised him when he found that their world was within their Galaxy he homed in on the signature and located them all. "I found them. A solar system enveloped by the rays of six stars with one habitable world at its center, a dot in the middle of a ring by comparison."
"Contact their Grand Elder, Moori. He's the one we need to speak with," Vegehan spoke in a brisk tone, already taking steps to stand in front of the slightly shorter Kaioshin. Placing his hand on his shoulder, he was in time to hear the thoughts of the current leader of the Namekian race.
"Greetings, Elder Moori. I'm the Supreme Kai of the Cosmos and I'd appreciate it if you can lend your services to me for a few minutes," Kibitoshin started with his tone soft and polite.
"O-Oh my, the Supreme Kai! I have only been told stories by Guru...uh, how can I help you?"
"Gather the Dragon Balls and call upon Porunga," Vegehan interjected hastily, ensuring he spoke out loud instead of to the Namekians. His existence, already tentative in nature, would be harder to explain to them despite their relationship to the rest of the Dragon Team on Earth.
After asking the Dragon Balls to be gathered they all waited for a small passage of time for the Namekians to gather the sacred wish granting orbs. When their Dragon was summoned, Moori spoke up. "I have done as you asked and have summoned Porunga. He awaits three wishes to be made."
"What now?" Kibitoshin asked vocally, letting Vegehan to think for a few moments.
"Considering Porunga is a Dragon with more limitless power than ours, let's start off with things we know ours can't fulfill. Ask him to undo the damage done to our solar system, both to loss of life, worlds or the land itself inflicted by Majin Buu," He laid out simply despite the gravity of such a wish.
When Kibitoshin asked the wish, Moori couldn't help but to comment on the freak storm that had threatened to ravage their home world being connected. When it was debriefed in vague detail that a fierce battle that had shaken the cosmos took place on Earth he was more agreeable to relay the message to their Dragon. After some time passed a divine light passed over their vista, from the heavens to the earth beneath their feet. To those with the ability to feel Ki, life suddenly filled the rapidly repairing world. It was a sensation only capable of making Earth's Kami shed tears of joy, hardly aware of his surroundings at the tangible signatures of billions once again inhabiting the Earth.
"Wow, everything looks untouched!" Chiaotzu exclaimed with a smile on his face.
"And I can feel so many life forms on the planet," Tien mentioned with a grin, noting his surroundings with all three eyes being returned back to a state that had been untarnished the day before.
"I-It's like magic out of a dream!" Mr. Satan shouted out loud, looking at the distant horizon touched by majestic light that undid the damage to the many plateaus and mountains making up the vista. He saw his dog jumping up and down, barking with gleeful skips in his leaps. Witnessing the power of the Dragon Balls done firsthand, he knew it was more than a light show and that magic surely existed.
Still, something felt off. Scampering back and forth, he looked around for something as the other four continued to await news from the other side.
"It has been done as asked, Lord Creator," Moori replied sagely. "Are there any other wishes you wish to make?"
"Porunga has such great power. I could feel the damage undone in this part of the Galaxy," Kibitoshin murmured out loud in awe at the power of the first Dragon God. When he heard a bout of silence from Vegehan, he noticed his hand left his shoulder. Opening his eyes he saw Vegehan crane his neck to one side and look up towards the sky. "What's wrong?"
"Just now...I felt some signatures falling back where I came from," The Fused Saiyan spoke out loud. "That place is about four hundred and fifty kilometers northwest, I think. It feels like...OH SHIT!"
"Vegeha-?"
"Gotta go!" Vegehan shouted with sudden gusto, his power discharging off the earth like a rocket taking off. Amidst the blow back of Ki pressure, Kibitoshin somehow maintained his connection with the Elder Namek. What he, Tien and Chiaotzu couldn't see was him moving at speeds that defied imagining.
It took less than a second of him moving at his max speed in Base Form to reach the life forms he had suspected were familiar. There they were, falling from the sky before his hyper aware gaze. Each one of them were people Majin Buu had devoured and some of them weren't even people he suspected. One was a young lady with auburn hair and a red dress, another was a police officer followed by a fluffy haired cat. The numbers came into what looked like hundreds that were raining from the sky.
"Tch, it'd be a pain to carry you all by hand. HA!" Vegehan cried out, extending his hand to send out a tangible wave of Ki to wrap every person in a telekinetic grip. Huffing as he kept a firm grip he decided to find the nearest city and settle most of them there. Flying at an optimum speed towards West City he set down the masses on an empty street, mostly inhabited by dazed and confused citizens in the restored cityscape.
Looking over every unconscious individual he tried to skim through the ones he didn't care for or didn't know. It baffled him slightly at first to even see so many people drop that didn't involve themselves with Buu's rampage on the Lookout. However, seeing anyone eaten by Buu could theoretically come out of the place Buu met his end that made some sense.
What didn't make sense was seeing a handful of individuals that he had neglected to think about during the revival process.
One was Dabura, the Demon King and another was Majin Buu, or what he thought was him. Instead of the hideous being he knew him as it was a rotund cape-glove-boot creature. His mind reeled at the idea of having to deal with either of them but decided to bring back anyone memorable despite that. At the level he was at he could deal with either being with little effort on his part.
Looking around he saw the familiar form of Goku, lying next to Chi-Chi. Besides them was Goten, Trunks, Piccolo lying next to the Ox-King, Bulma, and Videl. To their left was Krillin, Eighteen and their daughter Marron. Finally there presided to their right was Yamcha, Puar, Oolong, Muten Roshi and Mr. Popo.
"Aside from the two weirdos that were somehow brought back to life, I found what I came here for," Vegehan decided with an outstretched hand. When they all became anchored to his Ki, the Saiyan lifted up and took off back to the others. Reaching them took only a minute even with his lowered velocity in care of not dropping one of them by mistake.
"There he is," Tien spoke out loud, finally catching sight of the Fused Saiyan as he tethered a group of people he was happy to see. That was, until he saw the other two. Backpedaling at the sight of one he knew without a second's doubt, he caught sight of Vegehan's tired expression when he walked past him.
"Let's deal with that later," The Potara Warrior waved off, approaching the confused Kibitoshin. "If you're still in touch with Moori, I'd like to conclude our business with him."
"Of course," He nodded with understanding, but leaned forward to whisper. "But, is there anything else we really need? We undid the damage and restored the lives that were lost. What else can there possibly be?"
"Ask the Dragon to undo the fusion on me," Vegehan emotionless declared. "I wasn't told of the process how to cancel the fusion on me but I have a pretty good idea that wherever you got those earrings didn't come with an instruction manual. This means that unlike that dance one, this kind can't be undone, am I right?"
Trying to hold back the look of shock on his face from the request that was made he realized that what Elder Kai said was true. Bowing his head he knew no other power than possibly the Eternal Dragons that could grant the impossible. It was an old magic that has been long since forgotten. Knowledge of crafting the jewelry is one thing, but to undo its spell is an entirely different matter.
"Vegehan," Kibitoshin began with great hesitation, "I...I don't know how to tell you this but this may be irreversible. As I mentioned a little while back, I never possessed the power of healing, my steward and friend Kibito did. My predecessor who was released from a sword broken by Gohan gave me a pair of earrings for Kibito and I to try on. Much to their chagrin they can never exist outside of this body again, even in death."
"ALL THE MORE REASON TO GET PORUNGA ON THE LINE!" Vegehan shouted with a throbbing vein bulging from his forehead. "HURRY UP AND ASK THE DRAGON BEFORE I CHANGE MY MIND!"
"Y-Yes sir!" Kibitoshin stood straight up and returned to speak with the waiting Namekian Elder. After he divulged some information carefully to Moori, he waited for him to ask their Dragon to grant the wish. What seemed like quite some time passed and the air grew still. A gust of wind blew by, causing the earrings to jingle across the Saiyan's lobes. When his hair returned back to its upturned widow speak he saw the Supreme Kai's face grow dour. "I'm sorry. But it seems this power is beyond even the Dragon of Dreams. The Fusion truly is permanent."
"Damn," Vegehan swore under his breath, looking over at the gathered families with a solemn gaze at the mother of Gohan and the wife of Vegeta in particular. "This won't end well..."
"So what now? Elder Moori says you have only one more wish due to the first one taking up so much of the Dragon's energy," The Supreme Kai asked as he explained the situation.
"Just send that Dabura back where Babidi found him. That sad pathetic excuse of a slave is making me sick just being near him and it'd be just a waste of my Ki to kill him," Vegehan requested.
At first he was going to argue that such a heinous being be let off so easily. But knowing the position he was in and undoubtedly the kind of drama that was to unfold later he did as he asked. When the Elder made his final wish, Dabura vanished in a blink of light, leaving all those gathered including the inert Fat Buu.
It became a hollow victory for the Fused Saiyan. While he had made no plans to live, given the way he came into existence with only trickles of knowledge of how it happened, he didn't wish to endure the trouble that could come from still being around. He liked the idea of living but not with the heartache that was surely to come.
Tien and Chiaotzu grew quiet, knowing full well the dilemma that has been unfolded. They were happy their friends were alive but Vegehan being here meant Gohan and Vegeta could not return. Even the great Mr. Satan was silent, unsure of what it meant for the Saiyan Savior of what was going to come around. He was only happy to see his unconscious yet very alive daughter in front of his eyes; even his best friend Mr. Buu was back!
"We still have one more wish left. Do you want us to summon Shenron to have him fulfill it?" Dende asked, trying to lighten the mood.
"Do whatever you'd like," Vegehan coldly replied, giving the matured Guardian a dark glare before turning to look at the fat form of Buu. "I got one last thing that needs to happen."
Walking slowly forward he reached the proximity of Fat Buu which happened to be right next to Goku. Raising his gloved left hand, he primed a Ki blast just before his palm. He knew one well placed shot even in this form could be enough to wipe him out. As it swelled up to the size of a beach ball, he noticed a defensive barking being made by a dog perched on Buu's bloated belly.
Having half a mind to ignore the mutt, he saw Mark leap in between the bright light and Bee, but also most importantly Buu. His legs trembled, snot dripped from his nose as his mouth spread into a gritted yet firm expression of conviction. He looked scared but didn't look like he was going to move.
"Out of the way," Vegehan muttered out in a grated tone. "This doesn't concern you."
"L-L-Leave B-B-Buu alone!" He commanded, his stutters coming off as admirable if not pitiful. "He's my f-f-friend! Not like that o-o-other guy who a-a-ate him! H-H-He's the real m-m-monster!"
"Do I look like I was born yesterday? Majin Buu is Majin Buu, no matter what form he takes," The Potara Warrior dryly explained, not convinced enough to power down. "Gohan was nearly killed by that blob. Vegeta sacrificed his life in order to stop him. He killed millions before he switched to his tall psychopathic self. Do you just want me to forget all of that?"
"Give him a chance! He didn't even know what was wrong from right!" Mr. Satan tried to argue.
"I don't particularly like you so you acting like a sympathetic shield won't do you much good for his sake," Vegehan sneered, ignoring what he had to say by taking a step forward and angling his arm to point at his target from the side. "It's over! Accept that he has to die and you can all live in peace!"
"He saved my life!"
"He...what?" Vegehan uttered out with a cough, finding himself blinking with surprise.
"I-I didn't stutter! H-H-He saved m-my life, d-dammit!" Mark declared with throbbing veins bulging from his head, eyes shut close to block out the deadly light a mere meter or so away from him. "He...saved Bee's life. He was going to change, and do good from now on! But that ugly grey thing came out of him when he got mad...and it hurt him...ate him too. That's the monster who nearly wiped out the Earth! That's the one who you killed!"
At a loss of words, Vegehan's Ki began to dwindle in front of his hand but not disappear.
Seeing this as an opportunity to keep speaking, Mark crept a glance at the sphere of plasma still coalescing in front of the Saiyan's palm. Inhaling deeply, he rasped out his final ultimatum, "Just...j-just make use of that last w-w-wish to make everyone f-f-forget about B-Buu. Let him start from scratch. I know h-he can be a good p-p-person, he's shown it before. He's healed people and protected me from harm. Give him that chance!"
"A second chance? That sounds like something Kakarot would do," Vegehan realized, causing his eyes to strain into a bristling frown. Closing his eyes he discerned the pros and cons of what could come. "Then again, how much more of a threat is he compared to me? At his level he's equal to Goku and I'm over twenty times as strong as he is at his maximum. Destroying him would be easy if he steps out of line. But giving him the chance could be the end of everyone if Buu goes on another rampage. What the Hell am I supposed to do?!"
On the sideline, Kibitoshin watched with rapt attention at the standstill between mortal and physical god. The pair were so vastly apart in the power spectrum that it was laughable to think one could stop the other with mere force. It was a testament to the man's courage, given what he seen happen or was capable of. On the other hand the amount of patience and morality this new Potara born Saiyan hybrid may be at question though he knew not how far he'd go to achieve his aims.
Tien himself looked on with hesitation to intervene. Even though he could make out what was going on with Chiaotzu he was unable to see a total right or wrong. He knew Goku could give forgiveness as easy as money from a tournament he won, but this was someone who was different in every sense of the word. He just hoped the Gohan within the Fused Saiyan could find a middle ground where Vegeta couldn't find the word compromise in his vocabulary.
"Say if I believe you," Vegehan began with opened eyes, the Ki dwindling to a minute spark that crackled wildly within the center of his palm. This created a flashing opaque overcast on Mark's face that distorted horror and hope into a continuous reaction. "You'd understand that every death, every catastrophe that he wreaks will be on your head. I won't simply kill you if that monster slips up. I will introduce you to the definition of suffering. Are you willing to take that chance?"
Gulping heavily, Mark nodded his head rapidly, squeaking out his reply at a falsetta octave. "Y-Yes! Crystal Clear!"
Sighing, he defused the last of his sparking Ki and let his glove fall to his side. Shrugging he drawled out in a sarcastic manner with a wave of his hands to emphasize his lack of joy at the decision made. "Don't say I didn't warn ya. If there's any creature more adaptable than Saiyans, it's that pink blob behind you. I'll make good on my word if he decides to lose his shit."
"Hahahahaha, wow. I never pictured you to be the model of mercy!"
"That voice," The Fused Saiyan caught on immediately, turning to look to Buu's right. There was Goku, the first to awaken, and squatting with a stupid grin stretched across his face. It looked amusing, to him, that someone who clearly had Vegeta's characteristics to have handed out grace like that.
And he made no secret of speaking his mind.
"Gosh, I didn't know that with all that Vegeta in you that you could spare somebody. But I guess there's more of my son in you than even you realized, hahaha!" Goku chimed out in a goofy giggle.
"S-Shut your trap, Kakarot!" Vegehan snarled with an upraised glove wrapped fist, a vein pulsing behind the elastic material to indicate his anger. "Know that I spared him not on a whim but through careful consideration! I don't forgive so easily like you do, clown!"
"Yeesh, you could at least try to act like I'm half your dad," Goku moaned out, rising up to his feet with a pouty expression. At mentioning that, seeeing Vegehan's angry expression, he scratched his head with confusion. "Uh, is that even right? If Gohan fused with Vegeta, does that make you my rival AND my son?"
"I'm a new being, pure and simple. I am collective of both, with memories and emotions to boot," Vegehan bluntly explained, crossing his arms while glaring at him head-on. "As for genetics...I don't know but that's hardly here nor there. The real question is how am I going to deal with the broken hearts that will be crushed when they hear the good news?"
Opening his mouth, Goku immediately closed it. Looking back morosely at his wife and then at his childhood best friend, he could understand Vegehan's current mood. Even while he was faking his unconsciousness to see what decision he'd make, he could tell that was Vegeta and Gohan's energy mingled into a singular well of power. It was beyond understanding just how far apart the gap between him and this new Fusion was.
But that paled in comparison to the travesty of never returning to normalcy.
"I guess we'll settle with erasing the memories of this Buu so that the Public Oaf can keep his friend and his dignity," Vegehan brushed off with a groan, rubbing his face at knowing he couldn't discuss this further with such a limited intellectual as Goku was. Travelling over to Dende, he beckoned him to summon the Dragon but largely felt detached to the whole ordeal. Even though this event fixed the traumas and paranoia that had befallen the human race his own problems had largely just begun.
A/N: So, after long last, another chapter of Dragon Ball Zenkai has been released! Now, given, the nature of this story's origin I am wondering after a certain point if I should make a new DBZ titled story that branches off this installment? Anyone who has thoughts about this, leave in the Review section along with your thoughts on this Chapter itself.
EDIT: I adjusted the dialogue so that Vegehan recognized the Supreme Kai from Vegeta and Gohan's interactions with their prior fused selves. Given they can't sense God Ki (yes, even Kais have it) they have to be told or go by memory. And I also fixed a few other things. Hope that clarifies some of the irregularities in the Chapter ^^;
Due to this chapter's length it didn't take me more than this weekend to write it, get it edited and previewed by Firegod00 and have it up for your viewing pleasure. Still, while this Chapter lacked in action it definitely was supplemented with plenty of emotion and drama. Vegehan cannot be undone and the repercussions WILL be felt in the next Chapter. The only silver lining is that Mr. Buu can live on and everyone who was eaten/killed by Super Buu was released, including Dabura (lol, as if I'd forget the fine details of no "Only Good People be brought back" in that ludicrously labeled wish.)
Please let me know what your take of how this delicate situation be handled. Will Vegehan want to live alone, away from anyone the sum of his parts may have felt attachment to? Or will he settle down with Bulma or Videl? Is there any hope of normalcy for this poor Potara Saiyan?
Find out, on the next update of Dragon Ball Zenkai: The Power of Two!
