One year has passed for our brave heroes and those who support them. In that time warriors trained to become stronger than ever before, such as Goku, his second son Goten, and Vegeta's child Trunks. They were not alone as Piccolo honed his own talents with the competent sparring partner Tien Shinhan; even adding Dende to the list of those he has trained. With all of them preparing the next struggle some had chosen a simpler life of dutiful normalcy or relaxation.
Mister Buu as a house guest in the Satan's household is joined by the strongest fighter of Earth, Vegehan as he finishes the first and only school year that Gohan had missed because of the fusion. With Videl's help they both managed to pull through and it was seen as a merit to be celebrated at all. Her father was excited enough to decide to host a grand party in honor of his only child joining the ranks of adulthood.
With the Dragon Team among many classmates to even fans of hers were assigned, sinister forces were at work. Will they interfere with a happy occasion or do their aims draw somewhere else?

Chapter Nine - A Mechanical Machination
"Come on boys! You'll have to do better than that!" Goku cried out as he maneuvered deftly around the pair of children. With all three brimming with golden lights they danced across the grassy field like fireflies. Anytime a hand deflected a smaller fist followed up with another shin blocking a kick the adept fighter felt just enough pressure to give him a workout. At the same time he knew the boys were learning to better train as equals and get stronger as they have been over the last year.
After a crescendo of shockwaves lapped the plane, all three were more evenly matched than they used to be. Instead of being easy to read gestures and flashy techniques that overlapped one another the two choreographed instinctively to aid one another's movements. The older Saiyan had to use a fair bit of his power to keep up with the sprite half-breeds that were giving him a run for his money.
So when Trunks and Goten only exchanged a glance with one doing a shaking fist, Goku could tell it was one of their privately arranged strategies. Breaking off from their intense stand-off, the two knee-tuck back flipped till they landed softly on the grassy earth.
"Come on, old man," Vegeta's son crowed out in a beckoning stance that mimicked that of his father's while Goten seemed to copy his dad's own style. "Let's see if you can handle this."
"I'm ready," Son Goku replied with an eager upright posture with his arms interlocked and close to his head. "Show me this new plan of yours."
Chuckling, the Saiyan hybrid leaped forward with his arms drawn back. Once within arm's reach he unleashed a double-handed blast wave in Goku's face. With Goku uppercutting the body of energy he followed up with a swift rebuttal of a forward jab. When Trunks crossed his arms and was sent flying a few meters back was when a shower of light scattered over the man's vicinity. Raining down like marbles were fingertip sized spheres, scattering all around his proximity.
"Ey?!" He cried out with surprise, looking up to see Goten having thrown the signatures of Ki down below. "What kind of game is this suppose to be?!"
"Oh you know," His second son begun explaining as a distraction; just as Trunks primed a ball of energy and sent it looping around to detonate on the outermost edge.
"Dynamite Dominoes," The lavender haired kid declared with a dark smile, just as a series of significantly larger blasts detonated all around the surprised Goku. Like a cacophony of fireworks the pair of boys watched with glee as the older man yelped and cried out with pain from their attack sending him propelling up with the series of flashing smoke. Propelled over the field he'd land straight onto a bystander.
A blue-skinned, regal bystander.
"GAUGH!" The high pitched cry was muffled by the larger, smoking body. By the time Goku got up, still wincing from the pain, he looked down with apology as his flattened teacher got up with an annoyed twitch. "You know...you could go anywhere...ANYWHERE to train...and you choose here WHY?!"
"Aw, come on, King Kai," Goku apologized with a sheepish smile as he rubbed his hands nervously. "I didn't mean to land on you. It was an accident, I swear-"
"And the time you blew up my house."
"That too," He implored.
"What about when Bubbles was sent crashing into my back?"
"Uh, yeah, that was not intentional."
"Or how about when my planet was destroyed and I died with you?"
"...no, that was my fault," The godly trained Saiyan bent his head down with dejection.
"Look, I don't mind you coming to visit from time to time, but this is getting out of hand," The sagely teacher turned to look at him with annoyance as he adjusted his bent glasses. "I know you wanted to take your son and Vegeta's boy to train somewhere else than simply the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, but I live here! You can't just come barging in for the past year just because you wanted to exercise, let alone cause a mess I have to clean up!"
"We're sorry, Mr. Kai," Goten humbly apologized from the background, causing the pudgy Kai to look over with surprise. Seeing that Trunks followed his friend's example he also bowed politely with clasped hands. "It was our fault, we sent Goku flying with our new technique. Please don't be mad at him."
"Yeah, we'll take the blame," Trunks seconded with a nervous bowed smile.
Sighing, King Kai grumbled as he waved his hand, "Whatever, it's not like I can stop you from coming here. But don't you think you're all forgetting what day it is?"
"Eh?" The son of Vegeta blinked while Goten's eyes scrunched up as much as his father's.
"What day is it King Kai?" Goku inquired with a scratch to his spiky head.
"Do I need to spell it out for you?" The Kai of the Northern Galaxies spat as he shook his fists with aggravation. "Today is that showboat's party for your technical son and his daughter! For Vegehan and Videl, remember?!"
"Oh crap!" Goten exclaimed with a sudden fearful face, paling with sweat cropping on his brow. "My mom's going to be so mad..."
"Your mom?! Mine's going to be super pissed!" Trunks cried out with his own wide-eyed look of shock and apprehension.
"BULMA AND CHI-CHI BEING MAD?!" Goku cried out with sudden fear, falling into a fetal position as he shook with a rare look of intimidation across his face. He'd whisper lowly to himself as he shook. "N-Nothing's more frightening than those two when they're angry about the same thing...oh geez, how could I have forgotten?!"
"Better get going, big shot," King Kai snickered, already picturing the look on the two women's faces. "The longer you take, the harsher their womanly scorn will be."
"C'mon, boys! We gotta go quick!" The Turtle Schooler shouted with a shriek, rushing over to the pair so they could grab a hold of him. When he felt they were firmly attached -with Goten hopping up on one shoulder with Trunks holding one hand- he placed a pair of fingers over his forehead as he concentrated. Finding the energy of Earth quickly, he quickly waved his free hand to his master. "Goodbye, King Kai! See ya later!"
"Don't keep me waiting too long," The Kai sarcastically said as the three disappeared in an instant. Groaning he looked at the smoking crater in the distance peppering his lawn along with a number of similar scars to his poor small planet. Looking to his pet monkey who held up a tool bucket, a drill and wore a hard hat he pointed at the mess. "You know what to do."
"Oo-ooh!" Bubbles concurred aloud with a few presses of the trigger as he set off to clean up.
Goku and the two boys arrived back at home, all of them sighing in relief that the prior two's mother wasn't there but most likely at the party. This bought the father and son some time to change out of their sweaty, torn uniforms for some spare clothes. While their musk couldn't be hidden at least the freshness of new apparel could make them more presentable. Trunks likewise had to make do with a spare uniform of Goten's; something the lavender haired boy was dubious in its style.
"Whatcha think?" Goten asked; doing so as he put on a new short-sleeved undershirt with a new orange top with a blue sash holding it together with his similar orange matching bottom with cloth boots.
"I dunno," The rich half-breed murmured as he looked around at his sleeveless martial arts top with slacks that went down to shoes that were thankfully just his size. They were comfortable enough but it felt a bit off from his own gi. "I guess mom would be alright with this..."
"She'll have to be, cause we're super late!" The oldest man of the Son house exclaimed as he struggled to pull over his last shirt over him. Sighing with relief he padded his chest with pride before walking to the other two boys. Holding out one hand he raised his fingers again to his forehead. "C'mon, let's get to it before your mothers really lay into me."
Acquiescing to his demand, they took hold of his hand and sooner they could speak they flickered instantly in the middle of the party.
"Phew! We made it!" He announced with a chuckle.
"Uh-"
"-Dad," Both boys stuttered warily stepping back from the older man as he felt chills run down his spine.
"Son-!"
"-Goku!" Bulma followed by Chi-Chi shouted causing the spikey haired Saiyan to shrink in terror before both angry faced women. They seemed to tower over him with the latter dressed in her old blue dress she wore during the Tournament w/ the prior wearing what looked like an orange scarf over a tight white top with a pair of jeans with brown boots to match. They glared hard at him as he looked up at them from his crouched, pleading posture. "You got a lot of nerve showing up two hours late!"
"Ehehe, whoops," Goku mumbled out with a slowly standing frame. "Sorry bout that. I lost track of time and the boys kept me occupied till-"
"It's bad enough YOU show up late, but now you're encouraging the boys bad tardiness," Bulma groaned as she rubbed her temples while Chi-Chi yanked on Goku's ear, whispering unintelligible yet clearly unpleasant things to him. Looking past the whimpering man she saw that Trunks was wearing an unusual outfit; for him that was. Blinking owlishly she looked at her wary son with a curious expression. "What are you wearing, Trunks? Is that one of Goten's uniforms?"
"Does it look bad?" He asked with a wince.
"No...actually, it looks great on you," She nodded with acceptance, causing her son to smile more confidently. Looking back at Goten she gestured to the two of them with a nostalgic twinkle in her eyes. "I swear, if you two didn't look like brothers before, you sure do now. What a pair you make."
"Hehehe!" Goten giggled while Trunks just blushed a bit while smiling lowly.
Waving them off she gestured at the still food occupied tables on the far lawn next to the pool of Mr. Satan's yard, "Go ahead and dig up. I'm sure you are all hungry after an extensive work-out."
"Awesome!" Goku's son said in unison with Trunks. With both of them racing off the light blue haired woman turned to look at the fervently bowing husband and father waving to the table the two children went to. "You too, Goku. Just make sure to at least congratulate Vegehan before it gets too late."
"Roger that!" He confirmed with a smile as he skipped over to the food table where he and the two half breeds began to dig in.
Sighing, Chi-Chi couldn't help but massage her temples, "I swear, dealing with Goku these days is even more troublesome than it used to be. Maybe him being dead all those years made him more childish than he used to be."
"I doubt that's the case," Bulma countered as she placed her hands on her hips, smiling fondly at the trio that began to pile on plates of food while also occasionally scarfing whole helpings of meat or other treats. "He's just trying to prepare those two. We won't always have strong adults running around. I think he's doing his best to prepare them for the future in his own way, you know?"
"I guess," The housewife sighed with a sad smile, turning to look at Vegehan who was busy clinging to Videl while just occasionally talking with the various guests mingling around. "I just wished he lived a more normal life. I never got to have one and neither did Goku so it was just my wish...that turned into a nasty obsession. I guess I was never meant to have a normal family after all, huh?"
"He got his high school diploma at least," The turquoise haired woman elbowed Chi-Chi in the arm a few times with a wry grin. "That has to count for something, right?"
"True," She grumbled, her lips pursing as she crossed her arms with a huff. "But it's not like he's continuing to be your wife, given he's...er, half Vegeta. I don't want him to be a freeloader by being married to that Videl but at least her father can support them."
"Trust me, we talked about it. It was awkward enough between Vegeta and I, adding Gohan tendencies just made it more emotionally unsettling," Bulma explained with a sheepish smile, turning to look at the man who slightly resembled her late husband as well as her friend's firstborn son. "But, he'll always care for Trunks and I, even if its from a distance. It's the same for you and Goten. I just think this helps him start fresh if he finds a girl who can accept him for what he is without clinging to a past self he used to be. We're too rooted in those men's history for him to fully embrace either of their lives."
"Sometimes, I wonder if you were the better mother than me," Chi-Chi replied with a laugh only causing Bulma to laugh with her.
"Hardly. My son is spoiled rotten cause I dote on him too much and his head was inflated by his father. You may have been overbearing but at least your children were polite and forthcoming in responsibility," She countered with a wink.
"Thanks, that makes me feel a little better," The raven-haired woman smiled genuinely.
"Hey, if you want to talk, I'm always around," Bulma replied, walking her friend over to get some refreshments.
Eighteen was trying to act like she was enjoying the refreshments. Given she had lost the desire her lost human body had for eating, drinking or even sleep she merely took part of the ingesting as a formality for her family. Her toddler Marron wouldn't want to see her mom not do anything to worry her so she sampled foods and drinks if only for the pleasure of taste rather than fulfillment. Thankfully she was occupied by playing with Yamcha's changeling pal, Puar, and the other changeling Oolong who had come for the feast as well.
She allowed Bulma's mom to talk about her time graduating many years ago along with her husband who spoke a completely different language involving science and mathematics. With her enhanced cybernetic biology, she couldn't help but tune some of their conversation out in favor of listening to what her husband was speaking to Vegehan and Videl about. It seemed far more interesting than was she was invested in at the moment.
"So, high school is over for you two," Krillin declared awkwardly, raising a glass to smile approvingly to the pair. "Congrats! If I ever know anything about disciplining from the temple, I just know it's hard work that you gotta stick with it."
"I wanted to kill everyone," The torch-haired Saiyan spoke bluntly.
"You know that's not true," Videl snickered as she held her boyfriend's hand tightly at the side. "It was just the professors."
"They were all idiots," Vegehan twitched with an aggravated note of irritation in his voice. "I know what fourth dimensional object is and the consequence of overcompensating the gravity well of a planet can do during light speed. Yet they were so insistent I prove what a geometric shape was. Prove it?! What the Hell do they know about shapes?! The only I need to prove is how much force I'm withholding in my fist from NOT punching a black hole into their chest cavities-!"
"...it sounds like it was tough getting through a year of school," Krillin trailed off with a sheepish chuckle.
"You," The Saiyan hybrid leaned forward, groaning as his head slumped forward into a raised glove-covered hand. "You have no damned idea..."
"It was a struggle, but I think he played the nice balance of tough guy and smarty pants to keep the classes lively," The raven-haired girl giggled as she leaned fondly into Vegehan's side, issuing the latter to blush slightly and turn his gaze to look elsewhere. "I enjoyed it, and I don't regret keeping my butt in class whenever the city called for me. It gave something for my dad and our house guest to do."
"Oh yeah, Mr. Buu lived here as well as Goh-...Vegehan," He corrected himself after a second much to the taller Saiyan's satisfaction. Cocking his head he propped his hands on his hips as he noted the mountain of food plopped on a single shaded table. "Has he been behaving himself?"
"If he didn't, then neither Mr. Satan and him wouldn't be alive to regret it," He dryly replied.
"Hey!"
"Fine-Fine," Vegehan rolled his eyes, wryly smiling at the fierce look he got from his beloved. Keeping a more friendly expression he nodded to where the pink blob continued to feast in peace. "In all honesty, he's actually been the new hero. Ever since the 'Golden Fighter' and Saiya-whatever retired -thankfully- he's been acting as a new superhero for Satan City. Being a disciple for the world's strongest champion also doesn't hurt the planet's perspective of him and her dad."
"Well, I guess that's a step in the right direction. He may end up being a reliable member of the team," The dwarf spoke optimistically.
"I doubt that-"
"He may be a great help," Videl eagerly interceded to defend Mister Buu's behalf which only made Vegehan huff with irritation.
Turning to look over his shoulder, Krillin smiled at his wife whom returned the gesture with an adjustment of her bangs. Chuckling he turned to nudge the taller Saiyan hybrid with a grin, "Gotta pay attention to the wife. I'll talk to you later guys!"
"See ya, Krillin," Vegehan respectfully bid the short man a wave as a mirthful smile dawned upon his face. When he finally departed out of earshot he couldn't help but lean down to whisper to his hand-gripped girlfriend. "How many people do we really need to talk to?"
"What's the matter? Not a people person?" Videl teased with a waggling of her brows.
"Between all of our teachers who had stopped by earlier, that muscle loving Sharpener, that ditzy blonde friend of yours Erasa, and the many many MANY nobodies that I've had to suffer through...what do you think?" He growled out, getting a particular flirtatious look from the aforementioned blonde from one of the tables while talking with a few students still hanging out in the party's midst.
"C'mon, they're not all bad," Mr. Satan's daughter encouraged with a wink. "Besides, is it hard for you to have a few admirers?"
"I don't care to be stared at like a piece of meat or a shiny precious metal," The Fused Saiyan huffed with pouted lips. "The only person I care watching me is with me right now. So what's the point?"
"You sound like you'd rather be alone with me than among any of your friends and family," She stated as if it was fact.
"I...I don't hate them," The Potara user nodded, specifically to the two adult women in the distance while also looking over at the dwarf. Even catching eye at the rarely appearing triclops with his own child-sized companion and Piccolo with his own matured disciple of his own kin. The boys that ate closely to Goku even had his gaze for a few moments. "I care about them, more than they know. I just only have one person worthy of being loved, and I'm keeping her close at hand."
"Well aren't you mister protective?" Videl noted, much to the young man's chagrin as he blushed furiously at that notion. Releasing her hand on his she noticed him looking at her questionably while waving at him reassuringly. "Don't worry, your cuddly beautiful girlfriend will be right back. I just want to get something to drink as well-"
A sudden dinging rang from the inside of the house, causing her attention to be diverted. When it repeated to ring Videl couldn't help but notice the news crew that had arrived half an hour ago had yet to leave her father's side. Rolling her eyes with a wry grin she raised a finger at the miffed torch-haired man.
"I'll go handle it. It's either some freeloaders trying to get in or another delivery of food to satisfy the mountain of calories you Saiyans and Mister Buu need to stuff your faces," She assumed with a sigh as she placed her hands behind her head. Inwardly she hoped it was the prior; standing in one place wasn't her jive and she hoped she could at least get some of her blood pumping.
Passing by the news crew hunkered by her father she couldn't help but stare over the reporter and camera man's shoulder to the display he was putting up this time.
"Behold!" Mark declared in a low voice, his hands curled around space as if holding an invisible magic ball. What was actually between his arched digits and splayed palms was a marble sized twinkle of light. To her senses it was a pitiful amount of Ki but the fact he manifested it at all was still surprising to her; only to be lost by his next choice of words. "My most sacred of all powers. This is the magic that I summoned to use to destroy the evil that almost destroyed the world. I call it, Chi!"
"Are you getting this, Aranu?" The reporter asked as she looked on with wonderment, feeling privileged she'd get coverage over this rare display of power what was rumored to be a hoax.
"Yes, Miss Wong but...holy shit," The camera man replied back, almost too flabbergasted to hold the zoom-in on the ball of flickering light between the Champion's hands. "I can't believe he's doing it. Here I thought he's a hoax!"
"Now that's 5,000 Zeni you owe me," Ms. Wong replied with a cheeky grin as she looked over her shoulder with a wink that made him moan with defeat.
"It's a good thing you don't have real power, dad," Videl thought as she walked through the house, still hearing the rings from the other side of the door. Tromping through her mind was busy imagining what it'd be like in Vegehan's shoes. So strong yet so human in a way. He studied with her, had his own struggles and complaints. In the end as much as he had pride as a warrior he also enjoyed some aspects of education. She couldn't imagine being fused to another person, let alone uprooting her life, but to have a mountain of power behind it? "I might end up like Mister Big-Stuff if that's the case. I don't know what I'd do with myself..."
Grabbing the door handle she didn't think about sensing energy from behind it. Pulling it open she saw what looked like a group of caterers but in an assortment of odd appearances. One was short and purple-skinned with a stature that easily competed with Krillin or Chaozu. The other standing behind him was grey-skinned in complexion, hidden behind what looked like a tower of pizza boxes. Even another was a slender built woman with short-cropped hair that was cut to military style but hidden by a cap much like the others had on their heads.
"That's a lot of pizza," She spoke aloud with a chuckle, letting them in and gesturing across the mansion's entrance to the far hall that connected to the pool-adjoined backyard. "It's that way guys."
"This is so stupid," Murmured the purple-haired woman as she entered first while the other two followed her.
"Just stick to the plan," The shorter one snapped while the bigger one just huffed.
As she turned she swore she saw someone else walk past them. A sense of something going on was felt before she saw the final cap of 'Spacey's' cropped atop a strong-built man with silver-grey hair and a strong jawline. With cool blue eyes that reminded her of the blonde cyborg she looked at him oddly as if something the way he looked at her was amiss.
"C-Can I help you?" She asked warily, her right hand already twitching with anticipation of lashing out.
"Oh sure," The tall man replied pulling out with a gloved hand a receipt for her to look at. "That's 17231.05 Zeni; and tip if you'd be a sweet doll."
Sighing, she relaxed as she turned to get her dad, "I don't have change on me, I'll have to ask my dad for that."
"No worries, Videl."
A sudden whoosh was felt behind her, as his frame was now towering behind her much more average build. Before she could even turn a snap was felt across the bridge of her neck, following her complete unconsciousness. Falling limp into his arms, the man spread a toothy grin of accomplishment as he held the girl close.
"You'll do just mighty fine as collateral."
Piccolo turned, his eyes furrowing as he was discussing something idle with his sparring partner. This time he noticed the teenage Namekian standing beside him also look nervously around. The fact they saw nothing other than pizza deliverymen gave way for concern. Turning to look at Tien he nodded back to him who looked to a now reserved Chaozu who peered at the four's beneath his black straw hat while wearing respectfully sleeveless apparel bearing no mark other than red wrist bands, a green top, brown sash with similar adorned pants with cloth shoes.
When he finished he turned to look up at them and silently communicate to the four via telepathy.
"There's something wrong. I can't read their minds," He softly implied while trying not to show much distress.
"I can't read their Ki either," Tien commented, turning his monk-bead wearing frame with a white cape over his emerald sleeveless top with green bottoms with brown cloth boots finished with a red obi wrapped around his waist. Casting a wary gaze at Yamcha who wore a simple sweatshirt with jeans who he decided to leave out of the loop. He was talking to King Ox who was communicating with a number of passer biers that were mingling with the large yard. "Let's not panic yet. I don't sense any significant power from them so they may not be a huge threat...yet. If need be we can take them out."
"They aren't emanating the strange presence we felt," Dende assuaged as he kept looking anywhere but the obvious pizza deliverymen, something that caused a ravenous Goku to come over and began to dig in eagerly. Even an impatient Vegehan walked towards the table, grabbing a few boxes to eat while he looked over at the house curiously. "Keep alert. Something isn't right."
"Yeah, I felt something like this last year," The former Guardian commented as he looked around with a furrowed brow. "Stay sharp, and keep a lookout for this mysterious intruder."
"Right!" They all agreed, now splitting up to mingle in the crowd out of their own volition.
"Wow, so much food!" Goten lauded as he finally broke the company of his father. With Trunks in tow they managed to scoop in plenty of helpings to eat near the painted fence. Entire adult portions were scarfed down with plates clattering messily around them. By the time they were finished with the pizza, they couldn't help but feel really tired. Before their eyes closed entirely Trunks looked up and nudged the yawning Goten. "W-What?"
"Do you have a girlfriend?" He murmured half-awake.
"N-No. Why?" The son of Goku asked curiously.
"B-Because that pretty girl is walking over to us."
Realizing he wasn't being tricked the boy sleepily looked over at a young woman treading over to them. She couldn't be older than Videl but the slender build almost implied a youthful spirit to it. Weirder still was the choice in garments. Bearing a gown that looked like she'd go to a ball rather than a graduation party the affects she possessed were as following. A headdress over her brunette styled twin-tail hair that matched the red accent black blouse that stemmed to a blossom shaped skirt that had black silk with red stylized lace that rung around it four times. Her right eye was a ruby red while the left was a pupiless gold. With sleeves of crimson that covered her elbows up to her wrists she knelt slightly so she could get a look at the pair of dazed half breeds while her bell-adorned collar dinged slightly over her bare upper chest past her shoulders.
"Well aren't you two big eaters?" She asked rhetorically with a musical giggle. "Are you getting sleepy?"
"Y-Yeah," Goten dumbly replied while Trunks tried to fight back the drowsiness he was feeling.
"Fufufufufu," The girl replied with a sultry chuckle, standing upright as she did so. "Then, would you like to nap somewhere more comfortable?"
"T-Thanks but we're fi-"
Unable to finish his retort, Trunks was wide-eyed as his whole mouth was covered following his entire head. Even as Goten tried to gaze at what looked like a mercury colored appendage of translucent metallic goo he turned and found his own head enveloped by it. Both of them beat against the substance, finding themselves unable to breathe let alone summon the strength to break free. Like metal they clanged but was slick enough to keep a deft hold. Eventually they passed out, causing the tendrils of metallic substance to withdraw as they groaned, a pair of hands catching them deftly.
"What tired boys," She admonished with a thin smile, stroking their heads as her clothing adorned bosom seemed to melt taking in their small childish frames. Weakly twitching they were pushed into her body till they disappeared with a rivulet of rippling motion. Reverting back to a normal shape she grinned as she rubbed her belly fondly with a blush on her face. "Don't worry, the Dear Doctor has great plans for you."
"Hold it!" A sudden voice bellowed as she'd find herself unable to move. Jerking around she saw a halo of light surrounded her of yellow. Turning to look over her shoulder she saw the psychic, Chaozu, with hands extended with a knitted brow of concentration. Grinning she looked over to see Piccolo and Dende at the forefront to look at the stranger. "Stop right there and release the boys! Now!"
"Or what?" She queried with a sly smile.
A sudden tendril erected out of the earth, wrapping around the psychic in question, constricting till he let out a pained cry.
"Chaozu!" Tien turned to aid his comrade till his own ankle was grabbed. Both of them were lifted off their feet and smashed together in the air. Following this was a throttling crash into the pool, causing gasps and cries of panic to rip across the yard. A wave of water was lifted up before splashing a good majority of those, including the pizza deliverymen.
"What's going on?!" Krillin cried out with alarm just as Yamcha himself stuck close to the other party guests.
"Krillin! Get to Marron, stat!" Eighteen ordered as she barreled across the air, aiming to get to the dress-adorned woman who bore a dark smirk. Before her fist found its mark a sudden image blurred before her eyes, along with a gloved left fist striking her in the face. The force unleashed was enough to upheaval the earth and send her barreling out of the house's shaking vicinity to crash across the green hillside with a mighty crash.
"I could have handled her, Violet," The brown-haired girl replied with a pout.
"Can it, you trap!" The Colonel replied with a sneer as she locked onto the next target. Unexpectedly she saw Dende whipping around in his purple colored gi, adorned with his Kami neck-wrapped cloak and symbol on his chest. His leg swung around to catch the cyborg's arm, causing a shuddering crash to emit beneath them. With his bare palm thrusting forward, she moved her own arm to brace for a Ki wave that never came; instead was a shockwave of generated force that sent him flying past the sidestepping metallic being, sending her crashing past the fence and somersaulting over the street.
Dende would feel a sudden punch issued to his jawline, causing him to spew spittle as he was launched across the yard into the next few houses away from the mansion. In the meanwhile metallic being morphed till it reflected a sheen of grey-silver over its entirety. When Piccolo and Tien rushed towards him their fists passed through what felt like butter. Slathering over their arms, they'd be yanked around and then crashed barely away from some of the fleeing classmates that were amidst the chaos.
"Suigin! Stop messing around!" Fifteen replied as he palm-thrust Yamcha, sending him crashing into Krillin past a number of wayward party guests. "You need to get out of here!"
"Right-Right," She -or rather, He- huffed, feeling a bit excited from the battle taking place. Turning to see Goku unable to transform crashing a fist against Fourteen's solid chest only for his head to come down and butt his skull. Crashing him into the ground, Goku winced as he rolled around and woozily stood up to block a series of relentless punches aimed at him.
Seeing the coast was clear, Suigin rose up into the air suddenly blocked by a wall of muscle overlapped with a biker jacket and blue undershirt with shredded jeans. Gloved hands laid dormant at the sides with boots hanging in the air. The power emanating off him could be felt by the metallic being.
A power only belonging to Vegehan's.
"Do you honestly think you can escape here on my watch?" He asked dubiously, his arms crossed and a scowl plain on his face.
"Uh-oh! I seemed to have messed up here," Suigin mocked with a feigned look of surprise on his features.
"Damned straight," Vegehan snarled as he lifted his finger-less gloved hand to raise towards him, creating a white orb of cerulean outlined light. "Now kindly stay there and die."
"Even with the boys inside of me, you'd try to destroy me?"
"We have Dragon Balls. You don't," He threatened, his gaze becoming dark as the energy crackled menacingly, far more audible than the attacks issuing below them. "Unless you know what's good for you, drop the boys now or I'll atomize you three and take my chances!"
"Are you that cold-hearted, boy?" An accented voice sounded from behind, making him turn to look at an Android he didn't notice among the four struggling below. Muscular with arms exposed from the sleeveless false marketed logo on his chest, his blue eyes tinged with a twinkle of menace. Brown leather gloved hands clenched at his sides while a smirk belied his purpose. "That you'd risk that even fer yer desert flower, Videl?"
It was that last word that made the Fused Saiyan turn rigid with sudden alarm. An instant later it boiled over into absolute livid rage. Where he concentrated power into the orb of Ki was now turning into an enormous aurora of power. Lightning cracked across the now clouded heavens, the wind shaking as his voice bellowed aloud with eyes glazed with a pure cobalt fire of wrath. "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO VIDEL?!"
"Calm yerself, Princeling," Thirteen began to say, despite his grip placed on his hat and one holding out warily to the anger-filled Saiyan. "She's in our benevolent care. Unless you fulfill our demands, the Doctor w-GRK?!"
"I ASKED YOU A QUESTION, DROID!" Vegehan swiftly closed the distance, his hand wrapped around the muscular Android's throat. Pulling his grimacing face to choke close to his furious eyes, he snarled in a lower yet still wrathful tone that complemented the blaze of power circling around him. "What have you done to her, you metal bastard?"
In his fury, he had completely forgot the dress adorned entity behind him. A slick feeling of squelching flesh parted through his chest, causing his eyes to dilate and his power drop. Looking down at his chest, his shirt was torn and his jacket ripped, a spear of metal ooze covered in his own blood. Hacking up the essence he turned to look back at Suigin who withdrew the extended tendril, returning its natural sleeved look without the blood that he took within his frame.
"We don't have time fer yer tantrums, boy," Thirteen spoke, ridding himself of the grip of the convulsing Vegehan as he struggled to keep himself afloat. A sudden fist crashing into his face, sending blood and teeth flying out of his de-powering maw. Flying down with incredible velocity he tanked into the ground with a shuddering wave of force that ripped half of the house apart along with the tables. Shuddering while bleeding in the crater, he raised a hand up just as the Android primed a scarlet painted bolt of light that he let loose towards him. "So long, Saiyan."
While the other Androids fled the scene, the bolt of light that dramatically increased in speed homed in specifically to kill the incapacitated Saiyan. Not only that, it'd undoubtedly wipe out all remaining bystanders of less than capable endurance. His hand was still reaching up until a silhouette of gold and shadows rush forward to brace for the attack.
A howl echoed the rescuer's throat as blast was condensed and focused into the embrace of the arms of the stretched up limbs. Lightning cracked and danced around his frame as the rigid mane flapped wildly around the scalp. Soon those arms enveloping the deadly light pulled it towards his chest, shrinking it and then causing it to evaporate entirely. As the glare dampened, Vegehan's fading gaze caught sight of the Kai school placed on his orange top's back.
"D-Dad," He muttered out till he finally found his world turning to darkness, his voice faltering as the chaotic battlefield had finally silenced. "...save...Videl..."
A/N: Wow. That escalated quickly. I mean...things really got out of hand.
And why wouldn't they? The bad guys came in with drugged food that practically knocked out Goten and Trunks while weakening Goku. Everyone was more or less taken off guard by how strong these Cyborgs are. And given that Vegehan was so focused on Thirteen he had no way of defending against Suigin's attack, no matter how strong he is (cause if your guard isn't up, you'll be taken down, godly power or no as RoF has shown us).
With everyone blitzed and Videl kidnapped with the sons of Vegeta and Goku, will we find them in time before their evil scheme is enacted? What do they want with them? And will Vegehan get even with the evil Doctor Gero before he gains his ultimate revenge?
Find out, in the next Chapter of Dragon Ball Zenkai: The Power of Two!
Before I go, let's thank my good friends LastationLover5000 and Firegod00 for helping preview and proof this story so it's in top shape. They both collaborate also on another DBZ title, Dragon Ball Hearts of the Adventurers. If you guys would like a different take if Goku and Bulma got together, I highly recommend it, as it is a side project of ours I'm really fond of.
And, as always, here's some responses to my faithful Reviewers to this story ^^
Jack905: In time, yes. This Arc will be the only one to precede that. Until then I hope you like what I got written up for ya ;) And also, yes he moved in with them cause he's a moneyless bum XD see you next Review!
Guest: Glad he's appealing to you ^^ I tried to make him likable and intelligent. Good to see the work I put into him is paying off
Leo the zodiac: Nah. As much fun as me balancing out romantic interests that'd come and go, I don't see it within Vegehan's character for doing that. I explained part of the reason why he doesn't settle back down with Bulma or play doted son to Chi-Chi in this case. Videl is the prime choice, if only because I like how they interact and the potential for their family in the future. Glad you love it aside from that detail :)
Tien Shenhan: Huh, glad to see even a character from the series can enjoy this, lol XD Thanks for the praise and I'll keep up the work you laud ^^
The Anguished One: I honestly thought they overestimated the problems faced for Vegetto, but I can understand what you mean. Fusing two beings has lasting consequences, far moreso than simply death has been written off. In your thoughts about the next generation, I also thought it was a wasted opportunity for them to expand upon in Super. Uub was a poor man's substitute for reasoning why Goku would just up and leave his family. Goten should have taken up his father's mantle in my opinion with Trunks being likeminded in that sort, but that's just me. (Uub, btw, was referenced in DBS so he's still Canon to the story).
Hopefully what you saw in this, albeit, hasty fight showcases a little bit how they can handle themselves with our heroes. See you in the next Review!~
LastationLover5000: Thank you for your comments and thoughtful mentions. I'll keep these closely in mind ^^ Thanks for your support as always.
And with that, it's time I bid you farewell. See you guys at the next update!~
