The end is near
"Archangel! Noah! It's me! Flay allster!" came the cries over the emergency distress comm signal. The battle had stopped for the most part. Everyone seemed surprised aside from the ptolemaios crew, dearka and noah. The large white gundam that had been floating near the ptolemaios seemed to stir to life as the cries came out. It looked to the source of the cries but still seemed to be waiting for something.
Yzak cut a strike dagger in half and stopped, turning towards the zaft fleet the pod floated behind, eyes wide as he was surprised to hear she was in the pod.
The bridge crew of the dominion were confused, none of them knew who it was but natarle knew. "I hope he doesn't expect us to grab her pod…"she thought, glancing at azrael as he heard her last name. But last natarle checked she had joined celestial being so if she was out in the wild then it would just bring noah down harder on them if they tried to rescue her.
Noah meanwhile was just looking at the forbidden, his expression emotionless even as he heard her cries. He was already 10 steps ahead of this scene and he was just waiting for azreal to give the word to go get her since he knew natarle would leave her be. After all she was with celestial being and natarle knew that.
Dearka was busy going over his missile count in the moment of downtime in the battle. He had been flinging missiles like crazy at the dominion since his return in an attempt to help the archangel though it seemed even with his overwhelming firepower he was just adding to the mix that the CIWS were shooting down.
Setsuna and lyle had begun moving towards the earth alliance fleet, most of the strike daggers either destroyed or disabled. Seeing as they knew how this was going to play out they took advantage of the stunned battlefield to start defanging ships.
The M1 and baker teams had made a defensive perimeter around the 5 ships and were shooting down or trying to shoot down anything that got close.
Kira was spacing out just as he did in the anime, and just like the anime the action picked up again with the raider firing its scylla cannon at the freedoms back, managing to land the hit while Kira spaced out.
The emergency broadcast piped up again when Flay called out, "i-i have something with me...the man in the mask called it a key to end the war!"
That piqued azrael's interest. "Well well...this sounds promising. I suppose we should rescue the girl shouldn't we. have the calamity go retrieve the pod." he stated as he wanted to know what this key was. Natarle grimaced but kept her mouth shut. If anything would get this man killed it would be having one of Noah's people onboard the ship. Calling out the proper commands she watched as the calamity took off towards the pod, the freedom soon chasing after it along with an unidentified mobile suit that looked to be similar to the duel. Lastly the radar operator called out a new GN particle powered machine was making its way there.
It was a race though soon the GN particle powered machine began to pass the freedom and soon was matching the calamity. It's clear size betrayed its speed as as soon as the four machines arrived shortly after each other the machine similar to the duel fired pot shots at all three opposing machines. The calamity and freedom were forced away from the pod but the back of the large GN power machine opened up.
Orga gasped as when he turned back to try and swipe the pod away from the gundam he saw a large face. Shortly after that the back began to open up more and soon he was having to back away from a SECOND machine that seemed to unfold itself off the back of the white one. It soon became apparent the "mother" machine had a singular purpose as the calamity found itself having to dodge swing after swing from a pair of beam sabers that seemed to appear along with hands out of the apparent arms of the machine.
Yzak growled as he was forced into a battle with a similar machine to the seraphim that the calamity was fighting. Though this one had a small beam rifle and a shield and was easily keeping yzak away from the pod
Kira found himself staring at another smaller white machine similar to the duels current opponent. It was in a combat stance but had not fired a shot. Kira had no idea he was only here because of the fact noah was keeping the raider and forbidden engaged. Kira just looked at the machine, knowing this was one of Noah's people he was only here in case the calamity outmatched the one gundam pilot he had not met.
As all this went on the mystery gundam, the seravee GNHW/3, had grabbed the pod. However it did not immediately retreat. Instead it seemed to position the pod so the door for it and the cockpit area were lined up. From there a black lining around where the cockpit was on most mobile suits suddenly launched out, attaching to the pod around the door and making a tunnel of sorts out of some manner of material.
Flay was surprised when she received a response. "This is tieria arde of celestial being. Flay allster, i've hacked the comm system of this pod, it's just you and me on this channel now. I did this to inform you i`m here to rescue you..but the pod and the key you hold need to be taken by a separate party."stated a mysterious voice.
"W-what do you mean? You're with celestial being? I..i don't know what to do? How can you rescue me but also allow my pod to be taken by another party?" asked flay frantically as she was so confused as to what was going on.
"Just relax flay. My gundam was specially designed for this task by Noah carson. Noah will explain it later but i am not physically piloting this machine, i`m an AI controlling it. Suffice to say this means the gundams cockpit is empty. A special device has created an airlock between my cockpit and your pod. I`m going to open the pods door and need you to leave the data disk you have in the pod then float through the airlock and take the seat in my gundam. I`ll get you back to the purgatory after that."stated tieria as sure enough the pods door opened a moment later with a hiss.
"Hurry, i can only keep them off me for so long."stated the innovade as a strain could be heard in his voice as he was forced to dodge a volley from the calamity with the seraphim while also performing so many other tasks, including keeping yzak busy.
Flay could see at the end of the tunnel sure enough the cockpit door was open and the seat was empty but the screens and other lights were on inside. Remembering her conversation with Noah from back in the desert she didn't question how he knew she had a data disk on her since he said he was with celestial being. Climbing out of the chair she pushed off and into the tunnel, with a cry of surprise she floated towards the cockpit, hearing the pod door close behind her. Soon she had reached the gundam and climbed in, a slight grunt leading to her getting into the seat as she had to get around the controls. A pedestal sat in the corner and soon a man wearing a celestial being flight suit appeared, his whole body a purple color.
"Thank you for trusting me, now hold on, this ride could get bumpy."he said as the cockpit door closed. Flay could see her pod on the screens and she watched as the machine let go, the tunnel detaching from the gundam and the pod. As the machine turned she saw yzaks new duel and wanted to call out to him but stay'd silent. She wanted him to know she was ok but something told her that it may throw off the obvious ruse. She watched as the machine engaging him seemed to back off and retreat towards the gundam she was in and as they turned she soon saw the small fleet heading their way. She assumed she'd be going to one of the ships she didn't recognize but saw GN particles coming off them.
The ride was certainly bumpy as tieria soon had all the S.E.M.'s and the seraphim reattached which meant he was having to dodge more than a few salvos as the machines got him to back away. Kira had opted to follow them and was helping somewhat but Flay couldn't see that. She watched as the controls seemed to move entirely on their own but she could see on the small holographic man's face the concentration it took to pilot the machine.
As they neared the fleet the camera's view moved and she watched the duel get forced back away from her pod by the forbidden and the raider while calamity grabbed it and flew off with it. From there she watched the duel seem to hold position, the machine going slack slightly. She assumed it was yzak beating himself up over losing her. "Can we open a channel to the regen duel? Please? I need to tell yzak i`m here."she said as she felt the gundam land in one of the launch tunnels of the fleet, not paying attention to which ship.
Tieria had to think for a moment but nodded,possibly having reached out to Noah like in one of the sci-fi vids she had seen with the tech school gang. "Yzak? Yzak can you hear me?!" she called out as the gundam was lowered into the hangar on a lift.
"Flay!? Where are you? Are you in that pod?" he responded, the comm ping he got being scrambled as to its location and there was no video.
Regardless, Flay shook her head, tears in her eyes at hearing how worried he sounded. "No, I'm not. I`m in a gundam. I got rescued by celestial being. I...i dunno if you're going back to that horrible masked man or not but...thank you. For everything. You were so nice and kind. I just wanted to let you know i`m alive."she said as she choked back tears, thinking she may never see him again.
To her surprise she heard a relieved sigh come from him. "Thank god. I was unsure what happened there. What ship are you on? I'll try to get access and come see you! Dearka...he...he convinced me to join you guys." he said, which he seemed to be tearing up if his voice cracking was any indication. Flay smiled.
"That's awesome! I can't wait! We should get you a blue uniform like your duel!" she exclaimed as the seravee walked into a bay and the hangar began to cycle oxygen back in.
"That sounds like an awesome plan!" said yzak but then the line was cut. Flay smiled. At Least she would still get to see him. As the cockpit opened and she floated out to see some unfamiliar faces she was still smiling. She was home. She was back with her friends even if they were on another ship.
The end is near
Noah was not surprised when after the earth alliance fleet backed off the zaft fleet did the same. No one wanted to face him or their impressive group alone. Especially not when all they had was about 3 ships worth of ginn's. Maybe when they got the zaku warriors in 2 years they might but by then everyone here would have changed and gotten upgraded units.
So with that he was currently waiting for the hangar to cycle atmosphere back in on the purgatory as the fleet made their way to a colony that cagalli insisted would shelter them.
As the atmosphere was cycled back into the hangar he got out of his machine and floated down, letting a technician worry about cycling his gundam back into a gunpla. As he left the hangar he was ambushed by Nina who hugged him and pulled him aside.
"Hey i got an idea for a new mobile suit for me. Can you come take a look at it and make sure it's in good shape?"she asked as she pulled him through the halls. "i…may have spent some time over in the real world talking to china with Alice and getting some advice on piloting as well as what machine might work best for me."she said with a blush and Noah laughed. "That's fine. Spend all the time you like over there. After all it`ll be a second home for us once the war is over."he said before kissing her and following her.
When they reached their shared cabin he saw an interesting looking barbatos gundam* sitting on a stand with a large mace/sword combo. Walking over to it Nina picked it up and held it out for him to examine.
Looking it over he was surprised to quickly notice resin parts. "Wait, this is a custom build. Not just parts snapped together but custom made parts added on."he said in surprise, looking at her. She was grinning ear to ear as she moved to his side. "A few weeks have passed in reality and…IBO i think is what you called it, anyways they started producing more kits and someone came out with this conversion i think alice called it to make the dragon king or something like that. I dunno what to call it…"she said with a pout as she took it from him and placed it back on the stand carefully. "Oh and its new name is the barbatos lupus rex for the base kit. Sounds like for once I know more than you do."she said with a giggle.
Noah raised an eyebrow and smirked before planting a kiss on her cheek. "Oh…you do now? But I still know how to name things better. I got an easy name for you. Oathbreaker."he said plainly and it was her turn to raise an eyebrow.
"Why oathbreaker?" she asked as she was concerned she had done something to earn the name between them. Noah meanwhile chuckled and went over to the bed and sat down on it. "Well that's easy. In reality there is a game called dungeons and dragons. In it the class of paladin exists. You were piloting a gundam known as paladin, correct?"he asked and she nodded, following and sitting beside him though he pulled her into his lap and rested his head on her shoulder.
"Well when a paladin is created they make an oath, similar to the one you would have taken when joining zafts military. You have since defected and broken that oath. So it's only fitting your replacement for the paladin takes on the name a paladin takes when they break theirs. Hence, oathbreaker."he stated as he kissed her neck.
She giggled and squirmed slightly in his arms….and that's where we will leave them as their quarters door closed.
The end is near
As the now 5 ships slowly made their way to the colony that cagalli was certain would house and protect them, they had first confirmed the lack of enemies nearby before beginning transferring personnel and supplies between the ships to more evenly distribute supplies and move people to be on the ships that best suited them. This meant kira and athrun were officially transferred to the eternal as it had been designed with them in mind.
Feldt was transferred via shuttle to the purgatory to be with Noah who had officially adopted her after a conversation with Nina about how big their family would be. Flay, having originally landed on the ptolemaios with tierria had been transferred to the purgatory as well as she was a part of noah's "cell" of celestial being. Lastly marie parfacy and allelujah haptism were transferred to the purgatory as once they reached the colony they would become non-combatants while noah looked into the technology to clone marie and separate her and soma perez. Once that was done he would allow allelujah and marie to return to the 00 universe while he kept his promise to adopt soma. The Arios and its accompanying unit the GN archer would stay with the 00 universe' celestial being crew so Ian could eventually upgrade them into the harute.
Amongst all of this was as previously stated supplies such as rations, mobile suit parts and such. But more importantly there was the matter of yzak. On one hand he was joining noah. On the other hand he had a zaft produced gundam. So his first job was going over possibilities for a custom duel or some other gundam class gunpla he could switch to while his regen duel was scrapped and broken down to avoid any possibility of tracking them. The benefit to this was he was looking over the tablet catalog of gundams with flay at his side. Ever since he was diverted to the purgatory and she was transferred over she hadn't left his side. Not that he minded. She may be a natural but he had to admit to having become attached during their time aboard the vesalius.
So far he had found the gunpla that the zero system pieced his regen duel and found one with the same name but different specs. He debated just rebuilding it with gunpla but he was concerned the system would just map over it and he would be back to square one. as he scrolled through one more site's selection he noticed more than a few conversion kits…and that's when he found it. The blu duel HWS. he planned to tweak it a bit but it was a start. Going over it with flay he knew most of the weaponry and specifications were going over her head but the fact she was there was all he needed to put this together. Soon enough he was getting up, with flay in tow, and heading off to find Noah to see about getting this kit or parts to make it. He had so many other ideas flying through his mind but for now this one was the right call he felt.
The end is near
Feldt looked to Alice as she worked on a new model. She had a cup of hot chocolate in her hand and was trying her best to figure out how to start a conversation with the girl who was now her sister. Maybe bring up the model she was working on? Or maybe ask about getting a model based on the dynames? Feldt was no pilot but that didn't mean she wouldn't feel better with something to remember Neil with.
Alice beat her to it by looking up to her and just staring at her for a moment before opening her mouth and closing it, fish mouthing for a moment before sighing. "So…I get why you would get attached to my dad. He's charming and kind and to be honest you seemed to latch onto anyone who showed really any interest in you outside of celestial being business…sorry but it's just how i perceived you in the show." started alice. Feldt frowned, feeling she was not being accepted by her younger sister.
as Alice returned to her model and started to screw in something she sighed again. "But I also understand your reasoning. Celestial being is all you knew. Hell even your name is so secret you don't even know it. No one does. Even on the wiki it doesn't state your real name. You're probably the only one my dad couldn't name outside your celestial being name. So of course anyone who shows interest in you beyond your talents with celestial being you cling to. You…"she sighed and put her tools down. "Dad explained to me what happened. You heard he was adopting soma perez/marie parfacy and wanted that too. But he also explained all he did was give you a hug and say some kind words to you. Otherwise he was away for most of the time between that and when you asked him to adopt you. Neil also simply told you his name and showed a little interest in you and you fell hard for him. You're an introvert so it kinda follows the meme of 'op you showed me human kindness and affection so i`m your problem now.' but at the same time he also explained even i was a knee jerk reaction to help give me someplace to go given my parents are dead too."said Alice, seeming to just be speaking her mind rather than really going anywhere with this almost assault on feldts person.
Looking up from her work to feldt revealed she had tears in her eyes. "But I have to admit having you as a sister is amazing and awesome and I can't wait to get to know you personally. Plus.."she said, sniffling slightly, "with your pink hair and your complex of feeling you weren't born on earth might help Nina settle into this family too. Cause of the whole coordinators and weird natural hair colors."she said but held up a hand to stop feldts comment coming about it not being natural. "I know it's not your natural hair color…but i mean even in a picture of you as an infant your hair is pink….so just roll with it here in the cosmic era."she said as she stood up.
Feldt slowly stood up and they both walked to the end of the mess hall table and finally hugged, both of them crying now. Wiping her eyes dry and pulling back from the hug, Alice smiled. " Also your parents were gundam meisters. I never understood why you didn't become one. If you ever wanna look into gunpla battle i would be happy to whip something up for you."she said. Feldt smiled, "i`d like that…I dunno about being a meister myself but gunpla battle sound fun."she said.

Bailey looked in on the room where mayu was currently undergoing cellular regeneration. One could only see her head and neck from the window on the pod but he was assured that during the estimated 4-6 month process she would be well cared for and her arm would regrow. It would then take quite a long time in physical therapy before she would have full use of the arm again but she should be ready by the time seed destiny happened.
Stepping away he sighed and decided to go work on his model some more. He felt like that was all he was doing these days. Tuning his model or checking on her. He had found various crew members having to remind him to eat and such. He wondered what would happen to mayu after all this was said and done. She was only 9 now. No family aside from shinn. He thought to adopt her like Noah was doing but he would have to run that by his wife first. And he didn't exactly wanna adopt shinn as well. Biting his lip he found himself in his quarters once more, his various striker packs waiting for their daily tuning. Noah had even warned him he needed to sortie once or twice in the machine lest he over tune it and something break or become weakened by the over sanding or other treatments he gave it.
But as he sat down he realized short of going home this and mayu were all he had here. He wasn't a fanboy like noah. He didn't know the series like the back of his hand. He didn't know how to run a warship let alone be part of its crew. While he wasn't any of these things he was a former gunpla battler and knew how to pilot one with a degree of skill. He couldn't have made these packs without the tools at nielsen labs but even then he had a lot of help from the professionals there. Why he hadn't sortied during their escape from the mendel colony he had no idea other than the gundam meisters showing up. But with them leaving once they reached this new colony he wondered if he should put himself in the ship's regular roster. Then again there was already noah, he knew nina was trying to find a suit that fit her, nicol who was dabbling in gunpla building himself, and then there was yzak who had just joined the ship. Four pilots already. Did they really need him in this custom strike?
Moving to sit on his bed he pulled out his wallet and looked at the picture of his wife and kids. Seeing that he finally found his resolve. After exploring the colony he was gonna go home. Let Noah finish this fight while he got back to his family.

Natarle sighed as she sipped on her water bottle. She had been relieved when the calamity brough the pod back only for it to be empty aside from a disk. What was on it…she shuddered to think of a "man in the mask" giving out a key to end the war. What was more disturbing was that after examining the disk a grin hadn't left Azrael's face. Whatever it was got her a ticket back to command for now. Any other capable ship in her battle group however was being diverted to a fleet intent on bringing down what was being dubbed "battle group tango" they had an approximate trajectory for them but the fleet was apparently being boosted by cycling out a protective screen of mobile armors incase they came across any zaft ships since they now knew they weren't the only ones hunting them.
She went over the fleet's data, having been granted access to help project the numbers needed to bring them down. The data had been updated to include several prototype units as well as even more strike and buster daggers. The new prototypes were a downgraded strike piloted by more of these "biological CPUs" that didn't even have names. Just numbers. There were 16 of them, with 4 of each intended to be launched with different striker packs. The rest of the prototypes were a squad of "blitz daggers". She hoped Noah had something to counter all this. Otherwise she prayed they at least hid well enough that she didn't have to hear about them being shot down for some time. Laying her head back in her chair she decided to just wait out the rest of her shift on the bridge and she would go rest after this.

So this chapter is a tad short but it took me so long to come out with it. I hope you guys don't mind. I just wasn't sure where to go with it. The next chapter will definitely be off script to the series and I'm hoping to set something in motion you will all enjoy. The key takeaway here is I'M BACK BITCHES! I have my muse. I have my drive. And I'm eager to get working on the next chapter. But it will be some time before that one comes out as i`m still going over the other chapters with a fine tooth comb. Speaking of which, you may notice Luke has been replaced by Bailey here. When I first started this story my best friend was named luke. So I wanted to insert him into the story since Noah has a best friend. However as time has gone on i have since sorta lost luke as a best friend and now have a friend named bailey. But if you go back and reread chapter one i already swapped him out there and i will be doing so in other chapters involving him. Also you may notice tiny tiny changes to chapters 1-5. These are the chapters I already went over. From 6 on expect much bigger changes, anywhere from new dialogue to entirely new fight scenes and extended ones. I highly recommend chapter 6 on become a weekly reread as I will be updating them over the coming weeks. And I plan to have the next NEW chapter out by christmas at the latest.
*I was unsure how to describe the custom suit I found for this one. Like yzaks new suit if you look it up you`ll find a resin conversion kit. But the next chapter will have her full loadout for the oathbreaker. The gunpla she is using is basically just a dragon king conversion kit for the gundam barbatos lupus rex with some added changed as usual.
