Last Time, Ash and the gang arrive in Mistralton city where they meet Cody again, who is really Missile in disguise, they also meet Trip who demands a rematch, Ash accepts only to get pwned by cheese, and Ash actually loses, how will this affect him? Who knows? Well I do, so let me tell you about it.
In a Mistralton motel, the morning after the defeat…
"Alright! Mistralton Gym here I come!" Ash shouted, waking everybody up.
"Oh come on Ash, it's five in the morning' Iris groaned.
"You can wait a little longer, I don't even think the gym's open yet" Cilan said.
"There's always plenty to do before noon, so I don't see what the problem is" Cody said, from a chair, he spent the night organizing the Team Rocket attack, he just had to get Ash to leave Mistralton first, so he had to do a little trick.
"Well, I agree with Cody, I'm gonna go see some sights" Ash said, trotting off.
"Have a nice trip!" Cody called out. Now to enact my plan "Hey guys, I'm gonna go buy us some breakfast, you want anything?"
"Sure, I'll take a gourmet deluxe size, Slowpoke tail glazed with the yolk of an eggcellent Exeggcute, with a side of organic creamy Moomoo milk" Cilan said.
"I'll just take a ham and cheese sandwich" Iris said, sweat dropping.
"And I'll take everything!" Ash shouted from afar.
"Alright then, see you guys later" Cody said.
"Bye"
"See ya"
Cody left and headed for Mistralton Gym.
Cody arrived at Mistralton Gym soon afterwards, and dropped his disguise, switching it for his combat form, Missile.
"Time for a little sabotage" Missile snuck into the gym, and destroyed all the security cameras, he got to backup PC, and the item reserves, and destroyed them. "There now without any items, or backup pokemon, Skyla will have to shut down her gym in order to get more supplies, and with no gyms in Mistralton, Ash will have no reason to be here" Missile then made a swift getaway, changed back to Cody, and got some takeout.
Back to the motel…
"Hey guys I'm back" Cody said, with lots of food in his hands.
"Thanks Cody" Iris said taking her ham and cheese sandwich.
"Mmm this Slowpoke tail smells better than I thought it would be" Cilan said, sniffing his food intensly.
"You're the best you know that"
"It's nothing, really" Cody said, then suddenly Ash came in, perfectly timed.
"That was a great exploration, Mistralton city was great!" Ash said.
"Here's your everything" Cody said, handing Ash a comically large bag.
"Sweet, Cody you want any?" Ash asked.
"Nah I'm good" Cody responded.
"Alright, I'm gonna dig in!"
After Ash, and the gang finished their food, they and Cody all headed to the Mistralton City gym, unbeknownst to them however.
"What?! Closed!" Ash said in shock.
"Yeah, sorry" said Skyla, the gym's leader. "Some thieves broke into the gym, and destroyed all our supplies and our PC"
"That's terrible" Iris said.
"Who would do such a thing?" Cilan asked.
"I bet it was those Team Plasma guys" Cody said, pushing the blame onto the Rocket opposing Team Plasma.
"Well, what are we gonna do now?" Ash asked, mostly as a rhetorical question.
"Well, I have an idea" Cody then said. "I heard there's this amazing tower not to far from here, legend says if you ring the bell on top, your wishes will come true"
"Yeah, it's called the Mistralton Tower" Skyla then said. "My grandfather also holds a competition there each year, right on tomorrow too"
"If we start walking there now, we should reach there just in time" Cilan said, pulling out his pokeGPS.
"Well, I guess we can go there" Ash said.
"Well what are we waiting for let's go!" Iris said, excitedly.
"Cody are you coming?" Cilan asked.
"Nah, I still got stuff to see in Mistralton" Cody said. "Yeah, stuff" In reality there wasn't much stuff to see.
"Welp, have fun I guess"
One day later…
"Mistralton Tower, here we come!" Ash said, rushing in front of a massive tower, of which a crowd had gathered around.
"Wow, Cody was right it is a sight" Iris said, looking up.
"I bet the view from the top is fantastic" Cilan said.
"Hey Ash, it's good to see ya" said a familiar voice.
"Hey it's Steven" Ash said.
"How many times do I have to tell you it's Stephan" Stepstool said. "Come on narrator you know that's not my name!"
"Well, why are you here Steffen?" Iris asked.
"It's simple really, I wanna take part in the climbing of the Mistralton Tower, and get that wish at the top" Stop said.
"I guess that makes four of us then" Ash said.
"Yep, we're all joining in" Cilan said.
"Well, that's great the more the merrier" Stork said.
"Ladies, and gentlemen, welcome to the 46th annual Wishing Bell Festival, where the winner of the competition will be able to ring the wishing bell at the top of the tower" said an old man. "My name is Miles, and I am the grandfather of Skyla, as well as the host of this festival"
"Wow, he's a lot more young that I thought, I mean he's not young young, but not old old, either" Iris said.
"I guess you could say he's middle aged" Cilan said.
"Each trainer gets to pick one pokemon to act as their partner, to complete three events, a quiz, a dress up, and a race"
"Well, I guess it's you and me Pikachu" Ash said.
'Does this mean I get to speak now?' Pikachu asked, and yes you can speak. 'Oh good'
"Axew you down for this?"
'Of course!'
"Looks like Pansage and me are taking center stage"
'Alright'
"Well, me and Sawk are gonna win this!"
'Heck yeah we will'
"Alright now for the quiz, question one, true or false water is weak against fire, choose wisely" There was a screen is the middle showing the question and a little picture, and there was two signs on the left and right which displayed different answers.
"Really this one's easy" Iris said.
"Well, some would beg to differ, *cough* *cough* Brock *cough* *cough*" Ash said, breaking the fourth wall.
All of the gang chose false, while three or so people chose true, they must've been listening to Brock.
"The answer of course is false!" Miles said, various cheers arose. "Alright question two, how does an Eevee evolve into an Umbreon" There were now four signs each with a different answer.
"Hmm, it's by friendship right?" Iris asked.
"And I think it has something to do with the night" Steven said.
"Well, this sign's got those in it, so I choose this one" Ash said, walking towards it.
"Me too" Cilan said, also walking there as well.
"And the answer through friendship during the night" Miles said, half of the competitors got out, so there were some aws and dohs in the cheers. "Question three what is the pokemon" The screen in the middle showed a picture of a Pidove except only the beak and part of the head was shown.
"This one's really easy, it's clearly Pidove" Cilan said.
"Nuh uh uh, I wouldn't say so" said a random kid.
"What makes you say that?" Ash asked.
"Because I'm a psychic, I'm Ricky this is my partner Elgyem, and you sir are Ash" Ricky said.
"Whoa! How did you know?" Ash said, shocked.
"Because I'm psychic of course!" Ricky said, smugly.
"Or because Ash is famous" Cilan said, not convinced. "Who do you even think is the actual pokemon in that picture anyway?"
"Why it's Mr. Mime!" Ricky said, confidently.
"Ha fat chance!" Cilan said.
"Well, I believe him" Steve said.
"You can't be serious" Cilan said.
"I mean, with that confidence he's either insane or actually right" Iris said.
"Well, I guess we're all going with Mr. Mime" Ash said.
"What!? Well, I'm going with Pidove" Cilan said.
The gang went their separate ways, and about a dozen or so people actually chose Mr. Mime, meanwhile the majority chose Pidove, including Cilan.
"Alright folks, the pokemon in this image is Mr. Mime, wearing a Pidove T-shirt!" Miles announced everyone including everyone face faulted. "Looks like the popular vote lost"
"You gotta be kidding me, we didn't even get to dress up" Cilan said crying.
'Ah it's okay we'll get to dress up later' Pansage said, comforting his trainer.
"See? I am a psychic no one could've guessed that" Ricky said, he and his Elgyem posed dramatically.
"Or you just got the answer from last year's quiz" Iris said.
"Could be possible" Stool said.
"I kinda feel sorry for Cilan though" Ash said, looking at a moping Cilan who was walking towards them.
"Alright trainers now it's time for the second event, the dress up challenge, where each one of you will be assigned a famous trainer and their pokemon, and will have to imitate them using costumes!" Miles announced.
Everyone got assigned a costume, and some were a little odd.
"Looks like I got Cynthia and her Garchompa" Iris said.
"I got Nurse Joy and Audino?" Steffen said, in shame.
"Hmm, Elesa and Emolga" Ricky said, smirking.
"I got, myself and Pikachu" Ash said, I guess he really is that famous.
"Alright folks get dressing now" Miles said.
Later…
"Okay, now it's time for judging" Miles announced, Iris was up first.
"Here we are!" She said, dressed up.
'Rawr!' Axew roared although the only thing that came out was his name.
"Hmm, very nice, you get to move onto the next round" Miles said.
"Alright! We did it Axew, or should I say Garchomp" Iris said, picking the Tusk Pokemon up.
'Yeah!'
"Okay, may I heal your pokemon please?" Stupid said off key.
'I'm gonna punch your sickness out of you!' Sawk said, posing dramatically.
"Hmm, yes very good, you move on"
"Ah heck yeah! We're gonna win this thing" Stoof said, excitedly.
'I don't know but I think I'm the world's best Audino' Sawk said.
Ricky was up next "Hmm, but you aren't, dres-"
"Elgyum use Hypnosis" Ricky ordered, his Elgyum to hypnotize Miles, when it was done Miles saw Ricky a lot more differently.
"Oooh! Hubba hubba! You sir get to pass" Miles said, panting like a weird guy.
"Why thank you" Ricky said, passing ever so smugly.
"What!? How is that fair?" Iris said, fuming.
"This is truly a scandal" Cilan said, shaking his head.
"I just hope he doesn't win" Steve said.
"Okay it's my turn" Ash said, looking the same, because well, he was cosplaying himself, at this point Miles had snapped out of Hypnosis.
"Oh my, this is just"
"This is just what?"
"This is just terrible, I mean you look nothing like Ash"
"Wait what?"
"I mean come on that hat is so not his style, and he would never ever wear that hideous jacket"
"But-"
"I bet that raven hair isn't really hair at all, I bet it's a wig!"
"No seriously I-"
"And your Emolga looks way more like a Plusle than a Pikachu"
'But I am a Pikachu!'
"You sir clearly do not know the Ash Ketchum at all, you are eliminated!"
"Doh!" Ash said, face faulting hard.
'That was almost as dumb as the Mossdeep gym battle, almost'
"Wow, that's just wow" Iris said.
"I guess that means we're both out" Cilan said, patting Ash's back.
At this point there were only six trainers left, Steffen, Iris, and Ricky included.
"Alright folks now for the last event, a race through the forest followed by a climb up the Mistralton Tower" Miles announced.
"Ha piece of cake" Stevie said.
"But! You have to hold a Litwick candle the entire way, and if it goes out then you will be disqualified"
"Not so easy anymore" Iris said.
"Of course it's not" Steffen said.
Iris, Stopsign, Ricky, and the three other trainers, who didn't get eliminated, got a Litwick candle, and stepped up to the starting line.
"You got this Iris!" Ash called out from the crowd.
"Thanks Ash" She called back.
"Good luck Stewart!" Cilan called.
"Again, it's Stephan, but thanks anyway" Stewart said, sweatdropping.
"Yeah, you'll need it" Ricky said, smirking.
"Alright trainers, this is it" Miles called. "Ready, set, go!"
All at once, everyone ran as fast as they could, with Stork and Iris in the lead, Ricky and everyone else were not too far behind.
"Uh oh, what's that!?" Iris said, stopping in front of some geysers.
"The first obstacle in the race is the geyser valley, full of geysers which if you run into will blast you high in the sky, and also put out your candle!" Miles announced from afar.
"How are we gonna get across?" Steven asked.
"Ha this is no challenge to me" Ricky said, coming up. "Elgyum, use Psychic"
Elgyum concentrated it's powers, and held back the water long enough for Ricky to run across, but one trainer tried to pass too, but got blasted into the air.
"Oh come on how is that fair!" Steffen protested.
"I've got an idea" Iris said, quickly she hopped onto some trees, and swung across the valley with some vines.
"Clever girl, but we got some smarts too, Sawk use Superpower to lift up those rocks and block the geysers"
Sawk lifted up some rocks and soon the water was stopped allowing for Steffen and the other trainers to pass.
After some more running the competitors came across a a windy field.
"These fans are really strong, they can push you back, and easily put out your candle" Miles announced from way back.
"No problem for us, Protect" Ricky ordered, now with a shield, he simply walked across the field.
"Doh, alright looks like we're gonna have to do this the hard way" Steffen said.
'Yeah, let's do this' Sawk said.
"Hey Axew, do you think you could use Rock Tomb and create a barrier?" Iris asked her partner.
'Hmm, well I haven't used it in a while, but I think I can' Axew said, stomping out massive stone shields from the ground.
"Alright, let's go!" Iris said.
"Alright, careful now, slow and steady wins the race" Steffen said, him and his Sawk slowing marching towards the end, protecting the candle as best as they can.
At this point only Steven, Iris, and Ricky remained, and by the time Iris made it to the next area, which was a lake, Ricky was already half way across thanks to Telekinesis of course.
"This lake's full of ravenous pokemon, you could go around, but going across is the fastest way" Miles announced from the starting line.
"Hmm, Axew can you Slash down that tree?" Iris asked.
'You bet I can' Axew slashed down a nearby tree, and Iris fashioned it into a boat, and started rowing it across, at this point Steffen had reached the lake.
"Alright we're here, guess we'll have to make a boat too, you know what to do Sawk" Steven said.
'I got it!' Sawk chopped down a tree, and he and Steffen started crossing the river.
At this point Iris was about to pass Ricky. "What!? No way! Elgyum, get us across faster!" He demanded.
'Yes sir!' Elgyum said, but in all their ruckus they made a nearby Seismatoad angry.
'Grr, zip it you two!' It roared.
"Uh oh" Ricky said, before getting doused in a powerful Hydro Pump, which caused his Elgyum to drop him into the water, just in case the Hydro Pump didn't already put out his candle. "Oh phooey"
"Phew, that was close, hey look I think I see the shore!" Iris said.
'Hooray we're gonna win!' Axew cheered.
"Ah man, looks like we'll come in second" Steffen said, disappointed.
"Jellicent!" Then suddenly a Jellicent appeared behind him, and shot a Hydro Pump at him.
"Ah! Come on Sawk we gotta get out of here!" Steven said, he and Sawk ran across the water as fast as they could, ending up on the other side of the lake, now it was neck on neck!
"The final obstacle is the climb of our famous Mistralton Tower, which consists of 2317 steps, yes I counted" Miles announced.
"Well, I guess I'll race you to the top" Iris said.
"But I beat ya" Steffen said, rushing up.
It was a loooooong climb, and both trainers were neck to neck, eventually they both reached the top of the tower, all they had to do was cross the finish line. They jumped, but there was only one winner!
"And Stupid wins!" Miles announced.
"We did it? We did it! Yes!" Steffen cheered, hugging Sawk close.
'You didn't even realize he called you Stupid' Sawk said, jumping in joy.
"Well it was close" Iris said, tired.
'That was fun though' Axew said.
Later at the bottom of the tower…
"So what did you wish for Steffen?" Ash asked.
"That someone would get my name right, and that I would win the upcoming Clubsplosion!" Steffen said, sad then glad.
"What's that?" Ash asked.
"It's a tournament held in Icirrus city one week from today, winner gets a year supply of vitamins" Stewart said.
"Sounds interesting" Cilan said.
"Yeah, well, I better get on my way now, see ya guys later!" Steffen said.
"Bye Steffen!" Iris said.
"Again it's Stephan"
In an alleyway in Mistralton City…
Some Rocket grunts were discussing the attack on Team Plasma's base.
"Alright all we have to do during the raid is stand around and look for guys who could potentially botch this operation"
"But I don't wanna sit around and do nothing, I wanna do something tomorrow"
"Fine if you want I heard there's a casino around here, it's open tomorrow night, which is conveniently during the attack"
"Yeah it's starting around midnight right? Isn't that what Missile said?"
"Yeah but, shush someone could be listening"
"Really? Back here? You must be crazy"
But unbeknownst to them, one international police member was disguised as a trash can right next to them all along, one might call him a Looker.
