What makes a hero? Is it their deeds? Their actions? Their powers? Or something less explainable?
These are the questions asked by many a hero, from great god-like heroes of fairy tales to the simple ordinary man. Each one different in execution yet strives for justice and a dream for peace for all.
Yet for one, the title of hero was the journey, not the dream, well not in the conventional way that is.
This hero? Jaune Arc, the omniversal equivalent for 'harem' protagonist 'leach', although that is simply untrue. While he, in an unknowing sense, made the true heroine a side character, this is not a tale of Jaune becoming stronger by foolish means or by turning the character into something he's not.
This is the tale of a hero's evolution, from faker to hero, by the merit of the character himself. To become a hero that fights alongside the true heroes instead of shirking the title away from them.
Now with that said, it is time to take a journey into the unknown, through broken worlds and utopian realms, to see the end result of the wandering hero's mission.
The screen turned from black to white as deep yellow cracks began to form in the center, each one taking the shape of a letter or symbol before it exploded into fragments. From these fragments came the symbol of a shattered white moon with two downwards crescents and the familiar 'RWBY' logo that appeared over the crescents.
Welcome and please enjoy...
The remaining fragments of the moon circled around the sides of the 'RWBY' logo before taking the form of several words stylized in almost perfect cursive.
Jaune and the Alternative Adventures of the RWBYverse.
The title flickered a little before turning into an illustration, akin to a medieval tapestry, and the camera moved away to see a giant golden book with a single white moon on the spine as it suddenly flaked near the sides and turned a rustic bronze hue as black ooze dripped from the now exposed gear exposed sides and landed at the bottom of the screen itself.
The ooze hardened and formed a small black screen as it came to life with a red hue to reveal the hidden plot within.
Jaune and the Alternative Adventures of the RWBYverse: Chapter Zero, The Jaune-ros Journey.

-Remnant, Sanus, Vale, Beacon Academy-
The camera zoomed over the gray castle known as Beacon, the sun slowly rising behind its pointed tower as the green roof tops were bathed in an emerald light. This school, founded many ages ago to serve as one of the training grounds for Hunters and Huntresses, was full of majesty, mystique, and hidden secrets of utmost importance.
A key perhaps to the world's salvation perhaps?
Anyway! The camera zoomed quickly towards one of the windows and like a flash crashed through the glass and into the living quarters of a hunter team, one made famous for at least having a single famous celebrity.
-JNPR's Room-
Within the nearly bright room, illuminated by the early morning light, we see the sleeping forms of JNPR, each one resting in their respective beds or in the case of Nora, hugging a pillow while muttering 'Ren' every few minutes.
However, near the main closet area, the sound of humming could be heard along with the quick plopping sound of clothing, apparently being used as a makeshift locker room by this currently unknown individual.
"Hmm hmm hmm~" the figure hummed while tapping their left foot a little, the blue bunny onesie being placed upon the door handle haphazardly as they tried to be quiet on account of the sleeping students behind them. "Hey, hmmm hmm~ Yacha."
The camera zoomed closer to the closet while revealing a tall fair skinned young man with short blond hair, dark-blue eyes, wearing a black short sleeved hoodie with detached reddish-orange sleeves, a white diamond-shaped chest plate cut off above his lower abdomen, a pair of white spaulders with rerebraces set under them over his shoulders, brown wrist-length fingerless gloves with small metal plates over the backs of each, blue jeans with a white patch placed on the left knee, two brown belts that criss crossed around his waist with a pair of small pouches on them, white socks and black sneakers, humming to himself and looking very pleasant at the moment.
This was Jaune Arc, hunter in training and leader of JNPR, and well, he was getting himself ready for a quick jog in full armor before class started. A normal routine placed upon him by his partner, Pyrrha Nikos, after a full semester of being together as a team and it just stuck with him.
He continued to hum lightly, making sure no one was awake or heaven forbid Nora was awake, as he walked to his bed and took a blue handled longsword with a golden crossguard and sheathed in a white sheath with two golden lines going down the middle, from the adjacent wall and strapped it to his left hip. "Ah, what a wonderful day for a jog...still can't believe I'm still doing this. I mean six in the morning is really pushing it."
As he began to turn around with his right heel-
ZOOP!
He didn't notice the red vortex-like portal that formed under his feet until he took that unfortunate right step. "Eh?"
And fell head long into the red void.
"AHHHHHH!" he screamed while the portal closed behind him, leaving nothing but sleeping teenagers and a now bright sunny morning.
(Elsewhere)
Jaune screamed in terror as he fell deeper into the red void, unable to grab or even stop himself from flailing about like a fish in this well of neverending red.
However as he was dragged deeper into the vortex, the colors began to change from red to yellow, yellow to black, and black to white before repeating the pattern once more at an astronomical fast rate that made the teen's eyes hurt and his mind race.
His mind raced, the electrons in his neurons overloaded with activity, as he screamed to the top of his lungs. However, as he contemplated the fact that would die alone and without any of his friends around, he noticed a bright orange light emanating from the very bottom of the pit itself.
With a single thought, one that really fit the situation, he went cascading into the orange light. 'FUCK!'
(Elsewhere)
-Unknown location-
SPLAT!
"Ow!" Jaune groaned as he landed face first onto a red fur carpet, his forehead and nose now red from the 'light' impact injury he sustained. "Ugh...wait. I'm not dead?"
As the hunter in training got to his feet, a little slowly due to being discombobulated from the insane trip down the rabbit hole of doom, and blinked several times to adjust his still unfocused eyes.
Once, twice, three times the boy blinked, his eyes slowly returning to normal as his legs steadied themselves to normal gravity, occasionally twitching and spasming in the process. But when his eyes finally returned to normal, he went wide eyed in shock.
For he was in a large gray tiled study with thick black oak bookshelves stacked against the walls, a small open fireplace on the right side of the room in the shape of a triangular dragon head, a large glass windowpane on the left side of the room that seemed to be connected to a burning orange sky, a red circular fur carpet under his feet, and two large ornate red velvet chairs on either side of him sporting a single cat shaped pillow.
"...what in the? Ok, how did I get here and really?" he looked at the cat pillows in mild confusion. "Cat pillows? What is this? Blake's room or something?"
Looking around, the boy walked around to see if there was a potential inking for where exactly he was and how freaked out he should be right now, although he WAS getting there. As he looked out the window however, he noticed that everything was blanketed by orange and blazing colors, which made him unable to truly see what was out there but made him consider that this wasn't Remnant anymore.
"Ok. Big scary orange sky outside. Not at all scary." he said sarcastically before moving away from the window and looked around the room once more. "Maybe this place has Wi-Fi?"
As he pulled out his scroll, he noticed that it was turned off, even though he had charged it just last night.
"This is getting creepy." he gulped while putting the scroll back in his pocket, really getting scared and a little bit intrigued by this new location. He slowly turned his head to the side and saw something that caught his eyes.
A small red book with the words 'Little Red Riding Hood' on the spine, just angled a little to allow it's upper portion to form a triangle and was close to falling off the middle shelf.
"Strange title." he muttered while pushing the book back into place. "Reminds me of Ruby for some reason."
Slowly he moved his gaze away from the book, only to notice another book, this one a white book with the words 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarves' on its spine, right above the red book.
"Snow White? Never heard of that story." he muttered while getting some strange vibes from it, only to spot another book, this one black with the title 'Beauty and the Beast' on its spine, right next to the white book. "Nor that one. Maybe if I get out of here I can find them at the library? Show it off to Ruby." 'She is the fairy tale nut afterall.'
As his gaze turned from the upper shelves to the next row of books nearby, he noticed a yellow book with the words 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' on its spine, and snickered.
"That's something Yang would do. Three bears, ha!" he snickered while thinking back to all the times Yang caused trouble and imagining her with bears, big black Ursas to be exact. "Three dead bears maybe. Ah...right what was I doing again?" 'Damn it! That book made me forget that I'm not at Beacon!'
While his mind was refocusing on the current matter, his gaze became fixated on another book, a light navy green book with the title 'The Ballad of Mulan' on its spine.
"Mulan? Sounds Mistialian." he said while recalling that Mistialian based books were full of hardships and sexural eroticism, very hard core stuff in his opinion. "Better ask Ren about this when I get back...if that ever happens."
That was when he noticed another book, this one a light red book with the words 'The Iliad' on its spine, right nearby the green book.
"Iliad. Must be a war novel or something." he muttered while getting a strange suspicion that if he read that book, something bad would occur, either to him or someone else important to him, but he didn't know why exactly. "These books are starting to creep me out, like I'm somehow reading forbidden tomes."
Slowly his gaze moved away from the book and as quick as a Creep on steroids he saw another book, this one a light pink and orange with the words 'Poetic Edda' on its spine.
"Poetic Ed-what? Ok, now I know something's up. No normal book has made up words like that!" he said in disbelief while feeling a little more confused. "I mean what's up with the title? Even X-Ray and Vav comics had better titles." 'Most of the time.'
However, as he was about to move away from the bookshelves and find an exit, something unexpected caught his eyes. Something more different then the other times, like he felt a kinship with this strange book.
The book, a deep gold and white hue with the words 'Chanson en l'honneur de Jeanne d'Arc' on its spine, seemed to beckon him a little, not for the strange words or the color, but for the last part of the title, the word 'd'Arc'.
"D'Arc? Eh? My last name?" he muttered out loud. "I know my family is ancient but I never heard of this version of the name."
The book, full of wear and tear damage, beckoned Jaune's hands towards it as he didn't notice the red portal appearing behind him or that someone was sitting in the right chair closest to the fireplace.
"Ah. Chanson en l'honneur de Jeanne d'Arc by Christine de Pizan, good choice Jaune Arc." said a mature voice from behind the teen. "That poem is a classic, although if you wanted a full history then Histoire du Siège d'Orléans would also work."
"Ah!" He screamed while turning around quickly and pulled out his sword, the sheath turning into a hand held shield, as he gained a panicked look on his face.
"At ease." said the voice, soon revealing themselves to be a tall figure draped in a long flowing red cloak that covered his face, arms and legs, who seemed to give off an air of unnatural charm and a hint of mystique to his appearance. "I mean you no harm."
Jaune blinked, still on edge but not by much, as he looked at the cloaked figure with suspicion. "Yeah, I don't believe you."
He chuckled a little. "Humans, always so cautious. Well, that is your nature after all."
"Who are you? Where am I? And why did you kidnap me!?"
"In order." he said while the glow of the fireplace made his cloak illuminate a little in a brilliant display of crimson. "I am Omni, god of time, space, alters and keeper of the dead. You are in my house and I never kidnap people, I brought you here as my guest."
"...a god? Like the Twin Brothers?"
"HA!" he laughed while sounding a little irked. "I'm not made from the Dragon god, nor am I one of those lesser gods Remnant seems to be lacking. I'm a god from the omniverse, I exist far from Remnant itself and have no ties to it except through occasional actions and little 'vacations'."
"Um...so you're a god?"
"Yep."
"...I think I hit my head harder than I thought." he muttered before the god snapped his fingers and caused a red portal to appear next to him.
SLAP!
"OW!" Jaune cried out while getting slapped by a halibut. "What the!?"
"That's my ability. I can pull and take other things from different points in time and space. A great way to travel and a greater asset in hurting those that mock me." he said calmly as Jaune rubbed the right side of his now red face. "Believe me now? Or do I need to hit you with a swordfish next?"
Jaune groaned while rubbing his cheek. "Ow. No no, please don't. I got the picture Mister Omni."
"Mister? Didn't expect that." he chuckled in amusement while pointing to the seat next to him. "Sit down please. We have much to discuss."
The teen looked at him with slight hesitation before putting his weapons back on his hip and taking a seat on the velvet chair, the cloth rubbing against his arms a little as he got comfy. "Um...so...um..."
"You want to know where you are exactly?" Omni chuckled. "Well, it's not Remnant. You are in a fixed point on another world, one where Grimm doesn't exist."
"I see."
"But you shouldn't leave."
"Why not?"
"Because this fixed point in time is situated right near an asteroid strike. Big time extinction level event." Omni said as Jaune paled. "So if you leave, you could die a most...unexpectedly painful death. No pressure though."
"...why would you even have a house here!?"
"Simple. I don't want unexpected guests popping up." he said as Jaune groaned.
"So I can't leave and if I do...I die? Oh gods no." he groaned in fear and disbelief.
"Well, you're half right. You will die if you just leave out the front door." the deity said with a shrug. "But you can leave, if you listen to what I have to say. It's kinda important."
"...I see." he said in a very nervous tone. "And what is this important thing?"
Omni smiled. "Simple, I'm here to turn you into a true hero."
"...eh?"
"You heard me." he said calmly. "I want to make you a hero, not in the 'sell your soul' kinda idea but to push you towards being a hero."
"...again. Eh!?"
"It's true. I'm here to make you a hero."
Jaune, his eyes filled with confusion, raised an eyebrow and coughed. "Um yeah, not that I don't trust you but….I DON'T trust you. Plus I have to get back to Beacon, my friends must be worried sick right about now."
"Don't worry about them." he said while Jaune frowned. "They will be fine, as long as you accept the mission ahead."
"If you even-"
"Relax, I will not harm them. However, that doesn't mean that your friends will be safe from danger either." he said with a slight edge to his tone. "There is a darkness threatening Remnant, and not just yours, but all other Remnants in the RWBYverse?"
"RWBY-what?"
"RWBYverse, the collective timelines of your particular section of the omniverse." he said while a portal appeared in front of the fireplace and formed a large image of several floating gear like galaxies within its red abyss. "All of them hold the collection together, like a book spine to a novel or in this case, the metal in a cog. And for every possibility, a new piece of the gear will form within its collective narrative."
The teen looked amazed at the image before it zoomed towards a large reddish gold gear with what looked like thick black chains entangling the right side as the left side was completely clean and shiny. "What is that?"
"The RWBYverse. And as you can see, it's not moving right." Omni said while Jaune saw the gear actually making sparks as it tried to move. "And this is due to that encroaching darkness."
"But how? I mean, is it supposed to be like that?"
"Normally no, but due to a pivotal point in its early creation, the darkness and bad mistakes have been circling across other timelines and causing many to break." Omni said with a sigh. "When these timelines break, they form the black chains and well...they have been getting to the point of no return."
'I don't like the sound of that.' "No return?"
"Each black chain is connected to a possible bad choice that is made by the prime timeline, the center gear if you will." he said while the image zoomed closer to reveal a tiny black and white gear with the letters 'MO' in its center, which seemed to be rusting away and cracking at the seams as black chains erupted from it like roots. "Every time something bad happens, it makes another bad choice elsewhere, same with any good actions. However, as Remnant as a whole is fractured and divided, well...it's reaching its end."
"Wait what?! But what does that even mean!?" he asked in bewilderment.
Omni sighed. "It means that when a verse reaches its end, it will either end on a happily ever after or end in tragedy and ruin."
"...in Valeian please!"
"What I mean is that if the prime timeline, your timeline, reaches its end then the rest of the timelines will become broken and snuff out all other timelines." Omni said gravely. "In layman's terms, your timeline is going to be destroyed along with the other parts of the RWBYverse if something isn't done about it. I know you want to return home, but what will that accomplish in the long run? Sooner or later the darkness will overtake your Remnant and plunge it into darkness, BUT if you choose to take this important mission you might save everyone, even your friends and family, from complete destruction."
Jaune looked at the deity in shock, before slumping a little. "But why? Why me exactly? I mean there are a whole lot of more qualified people than myself. Like Pyrrha or Yang or even Cardin, I mean I'm-"
"Just a guy that faked his way into Beacon with false transcripts I know." Omni interrupted. "I have SEEN your life, not early life mind you, but your entire time at Beacon, even the parts where it didn't happen yet. You survived several Grimm, White Fang, a mad doctor-"
"Wait what?"
"Right, that one was a little later, anyway. You faced crime lords, bullies, getting rejected by Weiss, and a few other things you didn't even do yet." Omni said while sounding serious. "You are a capable person, fun loving, have great leadership skills and you actually HELP others, even when it wasn't your place to do so. In my eyes, that makes you a budding hero."
Jaune lightly blushed while looking away. "You really think so?"
"Yeah duh! I wouldn't have brought you here if you weren't a hero in training. Still, you need some fine tuning." he admitted as Jaune groaned. "Like not running into battle like a crazy guy, trying NOT to kill yourself for your friends, and mmm...oh right. Trying to be honest with your friends."
"Could we NOT go into my faults?" 'Or how much cringe I made in the past!?'
"Sorry, I had to mention them so you can learn from them." Omni shrugged. "Now, do you want to take on this mission or do you want me to send you back to a timeline where you will lose everything you cared for?"
Jaune stared at the deity, his eyes filled with confusion and strangely enough determination as he took the information into full account, the possibility of saving his friends and family at the cost of his own safety. As he continued to think upon this most important decision, he thought back to his team, Ren, Nora, his partner Pyrrha, along with his friends in team RWBY, Ruby, his crush Weiss, Yang and Blake, each one filled with hopes, dreams, fears and personal traumas that he only knew from fragmented conversations or pure instinct.
And for him, to help save them from a downward spiral into an unknown darkness that threatens to ruin everything, it was something he didn't sign up for initially...but as a Hunter in Training, perhaps this was the thing he needed to not only become a hero himself, but maybe break the chains of fear that he was starting to shatter before this endeavor occurred.
"Well? What will it be, Mister Arc?" Omni asked while being patient with the boy.
Jaune sighed. "Ok. I will take this mission, but only because I want to save my friends, nothing else."
Omni nodded. "I understand. Friends do come before power afterall, but first we need to give you some...upgrades."
He blinked before-
SQUISH!
An obsidian skinned clawed arm punctured his torso, leaving a black spot where the chest was, and pulled out a yellow orb of energy that seemed to twitch every few seconds as the hand moved back and near the deities' face.
CRACK!
SHATTER!
Breaking it instantly with a single squeeze of the fingers as Jaune looked at the black spot and then Omni in confusion and horror.
"What...huh!? What did...what did you just do!?"
"I took and destroyed your semblance, duh." Omni said in a monotone voice.
"...BUT WHY!?" Jaune asked in a flabbergasted tone.
"No offence to your original semblance's potential, it's not that good for this particular dive into the RWBYverse." Omni said casually. "Yes amping up your aura and potentially healing others is great and all, but the RWBYverse is MUCH deadlier than another verse. There are some timelines that would melt your bones before that semblance would activate, places where healing isn't an option and let's face it, no amount of higher aura will protect you from getting shit in the face or stabbed by an aura nullifying blade."
Jaune groaned in pain while the black spot seemily pulsed a little like a beating heart. "But...how can I even survive!? Without a semblance I'm going to get hurt!"
"You have aura still, I never took THAT from you." Omni deadpanned. "Besides, you and your aura users have it lucky, MOST people from other verses don't HAVE aura to heal them so it's PAINFUL if we do something stupid like getting grease burns or falling from high cliffs. That aside, I have a solution for that little issue."
WOOOSH!
Jaune looked on in surprise as a multicolored ball of light appeared in Omni's right arm, which seemed to radiate a strange metallic shine to it, as the arm pushed right into the deep black hole in his chest and began to play around with his lungs for some reason. "AH! W-What-AH!"
"Hold still, I'm trying to put this safely into your body. Also your lungs are kinda soft, huh, very soft." Omni muttered out loud while Jaune screamed in pain. "Oh relax, I'm almost done."
"Ah! St-OW! Hey! Not my lung-AH!"
"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddddd…...DONE!" Omni said while pulling his arm out, the black spot vanishing in an instant as Jaune gasped for air. "Sorry about that, but adding an artificial semblance into a still living human is kinda tricky, and kind of a first for me." 'Plus I DID clean up his organs a little, they had Pumpkin Pete's crap clogging the arteries and that shit. If the Grimm didn't kill him, the cereal would have.'
The boy groaned and coughed in pain, although it was subsiding a little, as he glared at Omni. "Not...cool..."
"You'll thank me later." Omni said calmly. "But the effects will be kicking in soon."
"Effects?"
"Yeah. Don't worry, it's not going to hurt at all." Omni said while Jaune noticed that his brain was starting to get a migraine, a very bad one at that. "The migraine will pass in a few seconds."
As the boy clutched at his head, he noticed that his eyes were starting to see something looming over the deities head.
A green life bar with a deep red bar underneath along with the name 'Omni' in basic script as a small white bordered text box loomed on the right, although the text was blurred greatly by red glitches.
"What...the...fuck!?"
"Oh? What's wrong?"
"I see a text box! And some kind of life bar!"
"Ah. That's the Scan Sight ability kicking in." he chuckled.
"...what?"
"Scan Sight. I added this along with a few others to that artificial semblance so you could have a fighting chance in the RWBYverse. This particular skill allows you to see the amounts of Aura, health, Semblance as well as the names, age, sex, personal information and skills of a targeted ally or enemy. However it will only work if the user locks eye contact upon the person and only one at a time so you wouldn't get a mind overload."
"So I can see their most personal details? All of it?"
"Yep. Very useful if you ask me."
"...can I turn it off?"
"Yes, but it will activate every time you see a new person so keep that in mind."
"And HOW can I turn it off?"
"Just blink and it goes away for a while, until you lock eyes on someone else that is."
Jaune closed his eyes, which were still seeing the text box even with his eyelids closed shut, before suddenly it just disappeared in a small flash of blackness. "Huh. That's...very convenient."
"Well it is better than having it happen all the time." Omni chuckled while Jaune felt like he just heard the deity's voice crack a little, like he had some experience in that department for whatever reason. "Anyway, I still have to tell you about the semblance and the new skills I implanted into you."
"Wait what? You added more 'skills' to me?"
"Yep."
"...let's hear them." Jaune grumbled while hoping it wasn't detrimental to his own health.
"Ok. The first skill you have is called Information Recollection. This particular skill was given to you so I could keep you from forgetting your own damn adventure." Omni said while Jaune felt a bit of his pride shatter from the deities' words. "It will allow you to recall small or large portions of information."
"Really?"
"Yep, but it will become harder to recall the information on the fly so try to quickly write or type the information down." the deity said while Jaune simply nodded. "The next one is Multi-Semblance. This is part of the artificial semblance I gave you but changed it to a skill at the last second. It allows the user to gain, evolve, and fuse different Semblances that you do not normally have. However there is a set limit on how many you can use at a time, like about five or so and the cool off times for each are varied in nature."
"That sounds a little overpowered, don't you think?"
"Yes, but I made sure to tailor make them to keep them from being OP. Besides, that skill only works in tangent with the amount of aura you have, which is saying something given your large aura pool."
"Still…"
"I know, but you will be in the RWBYverse, a lot of places will be more overpowered then your current Remnant. To them, you might be underpowered."
'That's reassuring.' Jaune thought sarcastically.
"You have two other skills." Omni said calmly. "The first one is Magical Potential."
"...you know magic isn't real right?"
"Say's the boy talking to the god." He retorted back.
"...touche."
"The other skill is...I'll tell you that after the semblance." the deity said while Jaune looked confused.
"Wait? Why after?"
"Because I want to build suspense." Omni smirked under the hood as Jaune just sweatdropped at that statement. "Anyway, the new semblance you have is called Second Chance."
"Second Chance, nice name." Jaune admitted. "But why is it called that."
"Ah. I knew you would ask me that question. It's quite simple." he said while pulling out a blackboard from a portal and placed it near his left side as he began to draw some images and little chalk writing with a gold colored chalk stick. "This semblance's true power isn't to attack or to defend against short term enemies, but to help adapt your body for the long run."
"How?"
"Simple, this semblance will allow you to heal, adapt and evolve their body from any form of attack or injury. Physical damage will be instantaneous while mental damage will take a little longer to respond to, but these boons will also allow you to gain an immunity to anything that hurts you the first time, hence the name Second Chance."
"...wow." Jaune admitted as Omni drew some examples on the blackboard, one of which was a crude image of Jaune with a spear in his chest and a very big butt. "And I do NOT have a big butt! That's not even correct!"
"Bah, most people like that ass, most girls too." he teased while drawing another image of Jaune, but with a spear getting broken by the now hard skin. "Some examples of the adaptation process are hardened skill, faster reaction time, tougher bones, poison immunity, etc, etc. But be very careful, this semblance will only work if you have a very active aura level. It will not work if it's broken or depleted."
"Huh. That is kinda cool, but will it hurt?"
"The first time, yes. The second time, no."
"...that is kinda amazing. To have such a semblance...kinda like Pyrrha's."
"True, she does have an amazing semblance." Omni nodded in agreement. "But speaking of Pyrrha, the last skill is kinda...interesting."
Jaune felt a cold shiver run down his spine, as if he was going to get killed by something in the next few minutes. "Interesting? How so Mister Omni?"
"Well…..you know what? I'll let you find that one out yourself." he said while Jaune felt very nervous. "Anyway, I have something to give you. Wait, where's that Scroll of yours?"
The boy took out said Scroll and saw it getting snatched by the deity. "Hey, careful. That's a student loaned one."
"Relax Mister Arc." Omni deadpanned. "All I'm going to do is this."
SNAP!
And just like that, Jaune's Scroll was broken in half, as blue glitches began to leak out of it and seemingly float in the air like tiny clouds of energy, much to the boy's horror.
"W-W-WHAT DI-"
"Hush! This all part of the plan." he interrupted, placing a finger over Jaune's lips in the process, as he pulled out a long medium sized rectangular red, white, black and yellow colored Scroll with a black diamond button in its center, thick black grips with yellow trimming, and on it's back was a white shattered moon symbol with two yellow downwards crescents in the center as a transparent black 'RWBY' logo covered the crescents, from his left robe sleeve and caused the glitches to get absorbed into the multicolored Scroll. "There. Your new Scroll. Waterproof, damage proof, elemental proof, hack proof, and has all your old data plus information on the RWBYverse itself. Not a complete record though but with your new skills, you can add to the Scroll's data and well, be an expert in your own verse in no time."
"...but why destroy my old one?"
He shrugged. "Because I felt like it. I am a chaotic neutral being after all."
'That is SO not cool!'
"Mmmm." Omni hummed while tapping the end of his chin. "What else was there…."
Jaune sighed a little before something important popped into his head. "Wait, if I do leave, won't I miss the Vytal Festival?"
"Oh that, time will be frozen in your timeline for the duration of your trip. It will stay exactly the same moment in time until you return." Omni said as Jaune sighed in relief. "But be warned in the RWBYverse, the timelines will be wonky as all hell. Some will be set in the distant past, some in the immediate future, others in the far future and others are just timeless, so it might be possible to be an old man by the time of your return."
"W-"
"But that won't happen since you will not be affected by any time during this adventure, aging wise. The semblance, skills and a bit of my powers will help with that but you will age the same, but a little slowly."
"How slow?"
"Mmmm like you will be taller and not have wrinkles, but overall you will look exactly like you do now."
"I...I see." he nodded in surprise. "But that's fine, since no one else will see me for long to notice."
"Except your companions."
Jaune stared at the deity with deer like eyes for a second before shaking his head. "Wait what? Companions!?"
"Yep, you are allowed to take companions on your adventure, from any timeline you choose." Omni said, like it was common knowledge. "But only if they are willing and if they want to be your boy/girlfriend."
"...ha." he chuckled while Omni looked lost. "That's funny, you're funny."
"About what?"
"The boy and girlfriend stuff. Like I would be that lucky, even if I do have the-"
"Jaune." Omni interrupted. "I was telling the truth about that part and while you do have zero understanding of dating a girl, there ARE potential lovers in your future."
'...what!? But huh?! But how? Is it the Arc charm? Is it really the Arc charm!? No no! That's dumb, I can't even get Weiss to like me much less anyone else! Ah...I need to know who would fall for me! But...ugh it's not a good idea to ask a literal god about your love life.' he thought while internally battling with his logical and emotional sides of his brain. 'Plus he might be planning something completely void of love lives!'
'I wonder what ship to make next? Jaune x Summer? Nah, maybe Jaune x female Hazel? I don't think that's a thing yet.' Omni thought while in his own little world right now.
'Ugh! I need to know!' Jaune thought as his brain chose the very scary path instead of keeping quiet. "Ahem. Mister Omni."
"Yeah?"
"Who...do you think would...fall for me?" he asked sheepishly.
Omni deadpanned at that while shaking his head a little. "That my dear Jaune, is a loaded question. Some timelines feature you having one lover, two loves or even fifty in some cases. So I suggest you rephrase that a little."
"Ah, um...who would love me for me? As a girl/boyfriend I mean."
"Well let's see now." Omni said while pulling out a long paper scroll from a portal and let it go falling to the ground as it rolled out and all over the room. "Starting from the top. Pyrrha Nikos, Ruby Rose, Weiss Schnee, Nora Valkyrie, Yang Xiao-Long, Blake Belladonna in some cases, Velvet Scarlatina, Neopolitan, Glynda Goodwitch, Raven Branwen in some situations, Lie Ren, Penny Polendina for some reason, Summer Rose in very small circumstances, Cinder Fall for some unhealthy reason, and-"
"Please!" Jaune yelled while covering his now red face. "No more!"
"But I didn't even get to the MILF's yet."
"Just stop!"
"Ok." Omni said while the scroll vanished into smoke. "But needless to say, there are a lot of people that might fall for you if you had given them the chance."
"...so Pyrrha…?"
"Loves you. Big time. Ruby might be as well later on but that's to be seen in the far future." He winked at the screen. "Still, I answered that question. But I have some advice for you before I send you on your merry way Mister Arc."
Jaune raised an eyebrow while placing his hands away from his face and onto the chair's arms. "What exactly?"
Omni sighed heavily while crossing his arms together. "You have to be yourself."
"Eh?"
"You heard me. You, Jaune Arc must be yourself throughout this endeavor yet also stoic to all hardships this journey will entail. The RWBYverse is full of wonder and despair, a breeding ground for hardships that you must overcome to save your timeline and the people living in that little ball of brokenness known as Remnant." Omni said while Jaune nodded, but was a little confused about the whole idea of being himself. "Also you must be careful of the timelines themselves."
"Huh? Why is that?"
"Because the timelines of the RWBYverse are more dangerous than any Grimm. More specifically, there are timelines where you could burn up by the very air you breathe in, some with no breathable atmosphere, some with sights and sounds that would make a normal man go insane."
Jaune gulped while images of himself in those situations appeared in his mind, in vivid goreness.
"And some will hold versions of yourself that have fallen into the embrace of madness itself. But the worst ones are the ones where none of your friends exist, for those will be the most unfamiliar to you Mister Arc." Omni said while Jaune let that sink in and blinked in horror.
"..."
"Anyway, that's all the advice I can give you." he said while Jaune was still stunned, only for the deity to blink in realization. "Oh right! I almost forgot this."
Zoop!
And from the depths of a red portal came a small bag, about the size of Jaune's hand, in the shape of a tall muscular pale skinned woman with long red hair that was styled into a waist length ponytail that curled slightly into a loose ringlet, green eyes with light green eyeshadow around the far upper corners, a D cup chest and wide hips, wearing a large bronze gorget around her neck, a bronze bracelet on the upper half of her left arm, a brown circlet adorned with a pair of small green teardrop-shaped emeralds on thin chains under her hair, and nothing else as her body was completely naked, which spun in the air for a few seconds before it attached itself to Jaune's belt with a bronze strap near the 'bag's' hips.
"This is a bag of holding and well, its for all of your stuff-"
"W-W-W-WHY!? Why is it in the shape of P-P-P-Pyrrha!?" Jaune blushed while as red as Pyrrha's own hair.
"Because it's funny." he chuckled as Jaune glared at him in embarrassment. "Relax, no one will even notice it, the bag will appear as a simple bag to others." 'Not~'
The boy blushed while feeling very dirty at the moment, given that he has a bag, in the shape of his partner, and he has to carry it for the entire journey. 'Why me!? It's cute but...gah! Stop staring at it!'
The deity chuckled at him before realizing something important. 'Wait...how am I going to track him? Drat! I knew I forgot something important!'
As the deity thought of a good way to track the only son of the Arc family, he slowly grinned and turned to Jaune, making the boy pale in primal fear.
"M-M-Mister Omni? Sir?"
ZAP!
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Jaune cried out in pain as he got hit by bolts of red lightning, causing him to light up like a lightbulb as Omni kept on upping the voltage. "AHHHHHHHHH!"
"A few more volts and...done!" Omni smirked while the lightning dissipated, leaving Jaune twitching in pain, but otherwise fine. "And don't worry about the semblance, it won't work until you go to your first timeline. But...are you ok?"
"Ah...ah…"
"I take that as a yes." He nodded while Jaune glared at him and got up. "What?"
"Why the fuck did you zap me!?"
"Ah. To place a tracking aura over your body. It's invisible to the naked eye but it allows me to track you across the RWBYverse and send you portals to get from place to place."
"Portals? What?" Jaune said in confusion, his face still filled with frustration. "Just what-"
ZOOP!
And cue a red portal appearing in the middle of the room, the sides covered in silver chains connected to two large rose shaped gears that turned counterclockwise.
"This is the form of travel you will be taking between the different Remnants." Omni said while pointing to the portal with his left arm. "Each one will last about a few minutes and will stay around for a few hours or more if you somehow get lost. Just remember, once you and your companions enter a portal, you can't go back and see the previous timeline until the adventure ends."
"I see..." Jaune said while getting up, stared at the portal and then looked at the deity with a nervous look on his face. "Mister Omni?"
"Yes?"
"Are you sure I can do this? What if I screw up and make the problem even worse?"
"Well Mister Arc, or should I say Jaune, we all make choices that seem difficult on the first try but from my long life, I learned that doing something is better then doing nothing. Just do your best and well, make mistakes, it's the only way we even advance into a bright future is to learn from said mistakes." Omni reassured while Jaune felt a little better. "But I suggest you hurry, the RWBYverse isn't going to save itself you know."
The teen nodded before walking into the portal, his nerves still shot from the electrical blast, as the deity waved goodbye to him. 'Maybe this won't be so bad….right?'
ZOOP!
The portal closed as Omni sighed and shook his head.
"This feels like Ozpin's methods." he sighed while looking out the window. "But if Jaune Arc can find the solution to Salem's suicidal plans for Remnant, then I have to hope he uses it soon or the RWBYverse will just...break under its own darkness."
To be continued in the next chapter.

Magical Potential: F [A skill long sealed away by time due to the Twin Brother's eradication of the first humans. Due to a certain deity, this skill is allowed to be released, but only time will tell if the user will unlock it completely or not.]
Harem Maker: ? [A skill implanted by a certain deity to give the user more 'potential ship material'. It is a passive skill that works only when the user is close to a potential love interest that also shows interest in the user. Mana/Magic: ? [Currently Unusable/Nonexistent.]
Aura: A-
Semblance: A~EX [Depends on situation and the amount of Aura placed into the Semblance.]

Ex- Increased Aura healing, increased Aura defence/damage reflection, increased Aura capabilities of the user, etc. Due to both inexperience and a certain deities' manipulations, this Semblance is sealed indefinitely.}
Semblance: Multi-Semblance (?) [Unknown] {A Semblance made by an outside force, an artificial Semblance to be exact. It allows the user to gain, evolve and fuse different Semblances that the user does not normally have. However there is a set limit on how many the user can use at a time, usually five to six, and the cool off times for each are varied in nature. But besides these letdowns, the skill is versatile enough to keep the user alive...given the amount of Aura they have. It is not the main Semblance, but designated as a Skill.}
Semblance: Second Chance (A+) [Anti-Unit] {A Semblance that allows the user to heal, adapt and evolve their body from any form of attack or injury, physically but mentally is a bit slow to respond, and gain an immunity to whatever hurt the user in the first place. Ex- Harden skin, tougher bones, faster response time for bullets, immunity to poison, bigger muscles, ect. It can only work if the Aura levels are active, if not then it will not work.}
Weapon(s): Crocea Mors [An ancient blade with a collapsible shield/sheath from the Great War that created the Four Kingdoms. Not really modern per say in the modern Remnant Era but was an excellent weapon for a member of the Arc family.]
Items(s): RWBYverse Scroll [A special Scroll made by a certain deity to give the user some basic information of the RWBYverse. By combining the now destroyed Beacon Scroll's data with special otherworldly materials not common in this part of the omniverse, it is virtually indestructible and hack proof. But it still needs Wi-Fi for anything game or CCTS related, unfortunately.]
Items(s): Bag of Pyrrha [A specialized subspace pocket dimension fitted with the soft fabric body of Pyrrha Nikos, the Invincible Girl, in a naked situation. Capable of holding even the largest of objects or the most hazardous of substances, this bag is essential for all the user's needs and personal objects. The likeness of Pyrrha Nikos was a joke made by a certain being and can NOT be seen as anything other than a naked bag version of the woman, no matter how naive the user is. It does NOT have any filter system to make it look like a normal bag.]
