A giant golden book with a single white moon on the spine appeared from the empty space as it opened up its pages...again.

Jaune and the Alternative Adventures of the RWBYverse: Chapter Two, The Cold...and Explosive Age!

Xxxxxxx

-Sanus, Vale, Patch-

VOOP!

SPLAT!

Jaune groaned as all he saw was white due to landing face first on...something rather cold and soft. '...I'm alive? I'M ALIVE!'

As he pulled his head out of the white substance, he realized that….he was in the middle of nowhere. To be exact, he was in a large snow covered wasteland, snow falling in the thousands due to an advancing storm, as the ground was barren of any vegetation and had ice coated mountains in the distance.

However as Jaune looked around in surprise, especially when he realized he was on top of a frozen coastal sea, he finally realized that he was freezing and his body turning blue from the sub-zero cold environment.

"C-C-Cold!" he shivered while trying to feel his toes, but couldn't due to the cold seeping into his shoes. 'Omni!? Why this place!? WHY!?'

The harsh winds of cold air sent a chill down the spine of the human as he felt like he was in a place even worse than the last one, and THAT one had humanoid Grimm….speaking of which.

'Wait? Where did the hands go? Nevermind, I need to find shelter!' he thought while his body shivered and shook from the cold.

(Some hours later)

"ACHOO!" Jaune sniffed while his body was covered in snow, making him look like a walking snowman in the process. 'It's so cold...and I don't know where I am anymore! Omni, why did you send me here!?'

That was when he noticed that his now blue fingers were glowing a faint gold color as a burst of heat began to form all over his body, melting the snow a little in the process.

'Wait...did Second Chance just NOW work!? Gah! This new semblance is harder to use then...well I didn't know how my old semblance worked until a few hours ago. But still...also how long have I been walking on this frozen sea?' he thought while noticing that his shoes were touching solid earth, albit frozen and harder than steel. 'Um nevermind, found the ground.'

However, a few feet away from the boy, four familiar forms loomed in the distance, hiding behind some snow banks with their horns or ears sticking out like tiny sticks.

"Smart idea." Grimm Weiss rolled her eyes as Grimm Ruby looked away sheepishly. "Brilliant idea, having us jump into a random portal that Jaune, a human being according to Yang and Headmistress Salem, and into a frozen wasteland! Full of oozeless liquid!"

"He he he...well, at least we know he's an evil human right? Grimm Knights kill evil humans right?"

Grimm Blake facepalmed. "Ruby, even if the human WAS evil, why would he run away from the Headmistress instead of fighting with their 'bladed fingers' like in Professor Port's videos?"

"True." Grimm Ruby said while seeing Grimm Yang looking around and sniffing the air. "Yang?"

"Somethings' coming. I suggest we trail the blonde and get away from whatever lesser Grimm is coming this way."

"Grimm? Here? That's crazy talk." Grimm Weiss laughed mockingly. "There are no Grimm here besides u-"

RUMBLE!

BOOOM!

"...nevermind." she squeaked while the Grimm Knights in Training decided to run into the nearby snow banks to get a higher vantage point.

RUMBLE!

CRASH!

BOOOOM!

Jaune fell to his feet as the ground began to shake and the wind picked up like a hurricane, terrifying Jaune in the process. "E-Earthquake!?"

RUMBLE!

CRASH!

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" bellowed a low yet unearthly sound that made the human reminisce of fifty bullhead engines starting up at once as the earthquakes became louder and more frequent as the outline of walking mountain loomed in the northernmost distance of the frozen sea.

'Wait...why did that sound familiar?' he thought while hearing the ice breaking in the distance, the outline becoming clearer and clearer with each passing second. 'I know I slept in Professor Port's class a few times but why is this giving me chills and a flashback!?'

RUMBLE!

CRASH!

CRACK!

BOOOOM!

A low rumble echoed across the landscape as the dimension hopping human looked up and saw something...terrifying.

That something was a titanic mountain sized black elephant like monster with thick shaggy black fur covering its body, four large legs with jagged deep blue ice covering the legs and body like armor, small triangular ears, bone fragments under the ice, a thick spiked white mask with four red red eyes, a long armored trunk with red marking on the sides, four massive white tusks, the front ones being larger and curved forwards right near the face before moving upwards and the back tusks pointing towards the sides of the head, massive ice like spikes jutting from the shoulder blades, ten ice-like horns jutting from the top of the mask and curved to the sides, thick white ice that covered the tusks and trailed downwards to form icicles a mile thick, gray and black stones sticking to parts of the body, and ten large ice peaked mountains jutting from their backs coated with the remains of ancient trees and wooden structures.

And it was moving towards him!

"A-A-A GOLIATH!?" he yelled in shock before noticing the tusks. "No, a Megoliath!? Holy crap, how old IS that thing!?" 'And why is it so BIG!?'

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" it trumpeted while moving it's large legs towards the shore and broke several thick layers of floating ice in the process.

CRACK!

SPLASH!

'Crap! Even with that new semblance, and all the other stuff he gave me, I'm NOT ready for a Grimm THAT size!' Jaune thought in terror. 'Oh gods, I need to get away fast!'

RUMBLE!

BOOOM!

As Jaune attempted to move away slowly, he saw the Grimm staring down at him, due to his fear and from the familiar aura from Grimm RWBY, who were contemplating either fleeing or taking on the 'lesser' Grimm, and trumpeted a war cry that made the very air quake.

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

He paled as the Grimm began to move towards him, moving as fast as a speeding truck, as he began to take off in the opposite direction. 'SHIT!'

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

'I'm going to die by an oversized elephant!' Jaune screamed in his head while not noticing several figures on the nearby snow covered hills overlooking the frozen sea.

"FIRE!"

WOOSH!

ZIIIIIP!

SQUISH!

"WOOOOOOOOOOOO!" the Megoliath trumpeted out in pain as thick heavy iron hooked chains shot towards its face and impaled it on the ears, mouth and jaw as Jaune heard the sounds of grunting in the distance, the chains vibrating a little as someone raced across one of the chains towards the now enraged beast.

"What th-"

"RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The figure roared out while sounding like a very reckless beast as it ran across the spiked chains, their body covered in a thick orange aura that flickered a little like flames.

'Wait.' Both Jaune and Grimmverse Yang thought in confusion as they watched the figure rush towards the Grimm's head and punch it square in the face, breaking its mask before grabbing the trunk, which tried to swat it off, by the tip and made a war cry that seemed to shatter the ice around them. 'Is that a male/human Yang/Me?!'

"RRRRAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" the male figure roared before jumping off, still holding the trunk, and-

BAM!

CRACK!

WOOSH!

"WWOOOOOOOOO!"

Pulled it down onto the snowy ground, causing the ice to crack and fly several feet in the air as the male figure grunted and pulled the trunk forwards-

RRRRRIIIPPPPP!

And ripped it off, muscle and what looked like a dark blueish gray brain attached to it by spindly threads, killing the Grimm as, to Jaune's surprise and shock, the Grimm didn't dissipate into black dust but remained intact….except for the large maskness hole that used to be its face.

'...HOLY FUCK!' Both Jaune and Grimmverse RWBY thought in shock as the figure panted and the snow storm began to die down, revealing several figures on the hilltops dropping the heavy chains in unison, looking extremely tired from the endeavor.

"A….Ah….." the figure panted as it was revealed to be a tall muscular pale skinned man with short shoulder length semi bright blond hair with small gray hair near the sides and two small strands sticking out from the top, blue eyes, a small yellow beard that trailed up his cheeks, thick scars across his arms, legs, and face with a rather long vertical scar across the left side of his face, wearing a deep white and gray furred short sleeved robe that had an exposed v-cut going down from his neck towards his hips, exposing his abs and thick yellow furred chest, long gray iron gauntlets that went from his fingers to his elbows that were in the shape of an Ursa's paws, a long thick cloak that went down to his legs and was lined with white fur, two thick armbands around his upper shoulders in the shape of a King Taijitu, a white belt made from the ribcage of a massive serpent, two curved daggers hanging from the belt by red rope, white bear fur leggings and thick knee length salmon skinned boots with black fur around the edges, who seemed to not be breaking a sweat as his aura died down and vanished into his body. "Ah...by the Two Lovers...I really need to stop using that battle cry. It's bad for the throat."

'Wait what? THAT'S what he's worried about?!' Jaune thought in shock before seeing him make direct contact with his eyes, revealing both the familiar green and red bars and the text box right under them. 'Not the fact he just KILLED a Grimm like a nonchalant Yang?!'

[Name: Taiyang the Strong. Sex: Male. Age: 20 to 30. Species: Human. Personality: Calm, collected, protective of family, blunt, slightly arrogant about certain things, no mercy with enemies. Aura Levels: High (Currently Low). Semblance Levels: High. Health: Perfect Condition. Secrets: Has no experience with cooking, masochist in bed, loves his wife too much, stole from a rival tribe as a child (iron fishing hook). Unique Skills: Enhanced Strength. High Charisma. Enhanced smell and hearing. Bladed Weapon Handling. Kinetic Energy Conversion. Hazard level: Medium.]

'Wait...Taiyang? Why does that sound...vaguely familiar?' He thought while the man walked towards him.

"Hey, are you alright?" He asked while Jaune noticed that the other figures, looking similar to this blonde Grimm killer but with various heights, genders and crudely made weapons, were collecting the hooked chains and heading towards the carcass.

"Oh um...what? Oh right, I'm fine." He said while the man raised an eyebrow.

"Are you sure? Because I saw you running away like a scared rabbit…." he looked at Jaune's attire and saw it wasn't covered in snow, just water. "And why aren't you wearing any furs?"

"And why would I?" Jaune asked while mentally kicking himself in the head for saying something stupid. 'Damn it mouth! Stop spouting nonsense like that! ESPECIALLY to the guy that KOed a GRIMM!'

'Huh, must be from Vauco. Less cold and with a lot of warmth.' Taiyang thought before shrugging in his head. 'Still he must be either a Protector or very dumb coming to Patch in 'weak' clothes, so quotes my wife.'

'Why is he eyeing me like a piece of meat...wait. Is he a cannibal or something?!' Jaune thought in terror before seeing the other 'hunters' using their iron blades to slice up the Grimm's flesh and fur off. "Um...so why isn't it gone?"

"Gone?"

"Like poof, it's gone in smoke clouds."

"...what? The Grimm don't even do that." Taiyang blinked in confusion. "If they didn't then how can my village even get the supplies we need to outlast the harsh weather?"

Jaune cocked his head in confusion as Taiyang sighed.

"Still, you look a little tired." He said calmly. "If you want I can take you to my village. Let you rest up before you leave for wherever you're going."

"Wait really? But I'm a stranger."

"So? You came to Patch, braved the ice and didn't succumb to the cold yet. My tribe values strength and you seem strong enough." He smirked while patting Jaune on the back, hard.

"Oof!" 'Damn it, he's just like Yang but less flirty….still. He's willing to let me stay at this village? Kinda nice….although I really don't think I'm that strong. I just got here hours ago.'

But as Jaune was about to retort, he noticed something ringing in his head as a small text box appeared over his irises and his body glowed a faint white color for a fraction of a second.

[Semblance Acquired- Power. Ability- Converts kinetic energy into raw power, will damage the user if inexperienced. Level- 1.]

'Wait….I got another-oh right. The Multi-Semblance ability, yeah...almost forgot about it.' he thought with a sweatdrop while still amazed that getting a new sembance works with a single touch to his body. 'Mmmm...I wonder if it goes both ways? Like I touch them to get a semblance or it's just them touching me. And wait, is it one at a time or all at once? Gah! My brain hurts!'

As this occurred, Grimmverse RWBY, who were still in shock over the fact that a human defeated a 'Lesser Grimm', noticed that the humans and Jaune were leaving the area, causing them to quickly move behind them, keeping a distance like a pack of hunting wolves in the process.

(Later on)

The cold wind hit Jaune in the face once more, feeling like a slight breeze to him...if it hit like a truck, as he followed Taiyang and his 'Protectors', as he called them, with a little hesitation. Yes, he was finally getting out of the cold, probably, but he was also in a place apparently far before the Great War, in the days of iron weapons and no comics, which kinda terrified him a little since he really was out of his element for the first time in his life...besides the trips to the Emerald Forest that was but those were close to civilization, this however was as far from normal civilization as possible.

'Oh gods, I just realized that I have to...be so far away from home! I mean...how do Hunters even manage to stay away from towns and Kingdoms for so long!?' he thought before mentally slapping himself in the face. 'Calm down Jaune Arc, you signed up for this when you made the transcripts and when you took on this adventure. Don't go back on it now...although I really want a heater right about now!'

But as Jaune tried not to fall in the snow, for the tenth time today, he noticed some smoke in the distance and, after the group climbed a tall hilltop, saw a rather large, about the size of a small settlement in Anima, village full of structures resembling houses and small buildings made of bone, stone and wood as a large thirty foot tall wall encircled the village like a serpent. Within said village, billowing smoke and the occasional flame, was a large circular building about twenty feet tall and a few feet wide with an almost bird-like decor, with bird-like wings carved into the front and back of the building itself.

'...wow. I have to admit it, that is kinda advanced.' he thought while seeing Taiyang, holding the heavy chains over his right shoulder and an ice tusk on the left shoulder, sighing in relief.

"Home sweet home." he said before looking at Jaune. "Welcome to Patch, the strongest village in the Icy Sea."

"I see...and what's with the house with the bird designs?"

"House? That's a temple, my family lives there." he said while Jaune did a double take and went wide eyed, all the while his Protectors were holding several parts of the fallen Megoliath, many being fur or flesh, in their hands.

"Wait, why?"

"Because my family are Protectors, gods." he said while walking past Jaune, who stood there in surprise before shaking his head and ran after him, just as they made it to the wooden gates, reinforced by iron nailed into the wood itself.

"Who goes down there!?" yelled a guard from atop the wooden gates.

"Open the gates! Taiyang the Strong has returned! We bring the spoils of the hunt!"

"Yes sir! OPEN THE GATES!" the guard yelled to the inside of the structure. "THE PROTECTOR HAS RETURNED! ALERT THE VILLAGE, WE CELEBRATE THIS NIGHT!"

CREAK!

As the gates opened to the sides, two guards on either side pushing the wooden sides opposite of each other, the blonde Hunter In Training saw that the entire village was going into a frenzy, each one either gathering precious metals wrapped in fur to protect them from the cold, containers filled with unknown liquids that smelled like aged beer, long carpets of tanned Beowolf fur and various other objects that the boy had no idea of, even with his newly Information Recollection skill.

But as he saw Taiyang walk through the village itself, he saw that many of the people that took notice of the bearded blonde either bowed or prostrated to him, mostly the former.

"Huh...so that's what he means by being a god." he muttered while not noticing a group of humanoid Grimm running into the village and ducking behind several alleyways and corners to avoid detection, only to realize that Taiyang was going farther and farther away from him. "Wait, come back!"

(Later)

-Temple of the Two Lovers, Outer Hall-

CLANG!

Though the ornately carved doors, depicting two cawing ravens in flight, went Jaune as he saw the older warrior placing his spoils onto the ground, covered in cobblestones, who seemed relieved of having to hold heavy chains and tusks on his shoulders, as the younger blonde noticed a few things about the temple.

One, the walls were covered in images of Grimm, each one painted with crushed stone pigments that seemed to accent their already creepy appearance by a factor of ten. Two, a rather large stone statue of two figures, a man and a woman, was placed right in the center of the room and embracing in a...rather suggestive pose similar to a coupled dog, and three, a set of five stone thrones, all carved with two eye like holes on the back of them, right under the statues feet that were coated with thin layers of silver, especially the middle one that was two times the size of the others and had a single orange amber stone placed near the top of the chair and carved into the shape of a burning flame.

'Huh….this is actually like a temple. Not as lavished as back home but I like it. Feels like a place to rest….if it didn't have a statue doing doggy style!' Jaune thought with a heavy blush on his face.

However, as he looked around, Jaune decided to just see what this timeline was all about as he pulled out his Scroll, a little cold to the touch on account of being in the cold for a few hours, and opened it up just as two guards walked by and saw the blonde.

"Welcome back to the RWBYverse Database." said the AI Yang, as he now calls it, as the guards gasped at this 'magical' device's ability to 'birth a woman' into existence. "What do you want to know about hot stuff? Also missed you~"

"Right...why do you keep calling me hot stuff?" he muttered to the Scroll, not knowing it had a microphone feature.

"Simple, you're hot, made of sterner stuff, and I like ya. Heya~" she said before adding. "I would show you the goods, but I'm not updated with that function...yet~"

Jaune blinked and felt his cheeks turn pink as the guards behind him muttered to themselves over the 'blonde wizards' magic', only to calm down and started typing the key words 'Ice Age' and 'Big fucking Grimm!'.

"Searching. You have one hit." the AI said while pulling up several images of cave painting and the occasional digital map of Remnant, covered in ice and only dotted in very few pockets of 'normal' patches in the northern and southern hemispheres. "Timeline. Ice Age Remnant. History: created when the moon's chunks landed upon the planet during the departure of the Twin Gods, causing a climatic shift that permanently left the planet as a ball of ice. Humanity and faunus are constantly trying to survive in tiny clusters as the Grimm evolved to become masters of the frozen tundra. Weapons involving multi change functions are non-existent due to the ground being permanently frozen, except in randomly forming hot spots across the planet, where humanity can form a semblance of civilization in relative safety."

"Huh. Makes sense given I just met an immortal headmistress and learned about….his involvement with her." he muttered before seeing a picture of a small iron statue of a human holding a spear on the Scroll.

"The concept of Huntsmen (Hunters) and Huntresses are repurposed into the name Protectors, individuals that are worshiped as royalty and god-like beings due to their ability to use aura and hunt Grimm for their parts and flesh." the AI said while Jaune blinked in surprise. "Shall I continue hot stuff?"

"Oh, please do, this is kinda interesting." 'Way better than Professor Port's lessons that's for sure.'

But as the AI was about to bring out the information, a strange black energy shot towards the Scroll like a bolt of lightning and caused it to short circuit.

"Zzxxxjaslheuinazzz! Shutting down….power down….night hot stuff~"

Booooop.

"Oh man!" 'I thought Omni had this thing shockproof or something!'

That was when Jaune looked up from his Scroll, just in time to see a tall pale skinned man with short dark spiky hair that grayed near the points, faded milky red eyes, slight stubble along the jawline, a single thick red scar over the forehead, wearing a long black and gray furred long sleeved robe that covered his hands slightly above the knuckles, a long black fur trimmed red cloak that went down to his feet and was tattered slightly near the ends, five rings on his fingers made of bone, thick iron plates strapped to his shoulders, arms, and legs by red string and were forged to resemble a Nevermore's wings, silver laced rib bone earrings, gray deerskin leggings with small tufts of brown fur near the knees, black dog skinned boots with a single iron heel in the back, and a single large gray scythe hanging from his back by red rope attached to the ivory human-like spinal column that served as its base, walking towards him while-

BAM!

"Gah!" Jaune cried out while getting tackled by the man, the familiar jingle from before ringing in his head as his body glowed a faint white color, who seemed to be unable to see...at all, especially when the older man was groping the air like his life was depending on it. 'Damn it.'

'Wait what!? Who even HAS a semblance like that!?' he thought while coming into direct eye contact with the man, who was getting off of the blonde and groaning at his misfortune.

'Wait, isn't that Ruby and Yang's uncle….wow. Didn't expect him here, wait, he has a semblance like that!? Holy crap how did either of them survive as kids!?' he thought while the man now known as Qrow walked away.

"Damn wrenches...don't they know I can't see." he muttered while sniffing the air. "I know they're here...the smell of ale permeates the air….no wait, that was me. Damn it."

'Do I really want to know?' Jaune thought to himself while deciding to take a look around the temple, only to see three figures walking out of the right most doorway, which weirdly enough has smoke and flames emanating from it's dark hallway.

These figures were all...interesting to say the least in the blonde's mind as he looked at each one in the eye, making sure to not look like a creep as the familiar text box and green and red bars appeared over his eyes.

The first figure was a tall pale skinned woman with bright crimson red eyes, long jet black bushy hair with a cowlick on top of her head that was held in a bun by thick black branches decorated with rib bones hanging from tiny white fur ropes, a G cup chest and wide ass, black tattooed eyes in the shape of the setting sun, thin black feather-like tattoos on the palms of her hands, wearing a long gray and white fur robe with long detachable sleeves that were connected to the shoulders by ivory laced red rope, slim iron gauntlets that extended to her elbows and were shaped like an Ursa's claws, a leather deerskin skirt that went to her ankles and was tied together by an engraved bronze belt, long thigh length white fur boots with bronze tips at the front and back, a gold necklace around her neck in the shape of a Nevermore in flight, two brown fur covered sheaths held on her hips by ivory beaded necklaces with two black sword hilts fitted within each one, and had a small white four eyed mask hanging from her neck by white string in the shape of a Beowolf, who seemed to be giving off an air of intimidation that rivaled the Beacon Enforcer Goodwitch.

The second figure was a tall fair skinned young woman with long bright golden hair that went past her hips and down to her feet with a cowlick sticking out at the top, lilac eyes, a single scared left eye, thin black tattooed eyes and lips that seemed to embody the curved angles of fire itself, a F cup chest and wide ass, wearing a deep yellow and brown long sleeved robe with dark brown fur on the sleeves and collar as the right sleeve was absent, revealing a stumped right arm that was covered by a triangular ivory plate attached to the robe by thick red rope, a leather deer skinned skirt that went to her knees and was tied by a brown leather belt around her waist, two bear tooth earrings, a long brown bear skinned cape that hung on iron rings stitched to her shoulders by ivory needles, long brownish yellow bear skinned leggings, a single iron gauntlet on her left arm in the shape of an Ursa, thick brown bear skinned boots with clawed toes, and a bronze torc around her neck in the shape of a Goliath's mask, who gave off a very familiar air that screamed beauty incarnate.

[Name: Yang the Beautiful. Sex: Female. Age: 17. Species: Human. Personality: Loyal, flirtatious, easily agitated, calm, views sister and mother as role models, cocky. Aura Levels: High. And the third figure was a short fair skinned young girl with long shoulder length black hair with red tips, two braided bangs that went to her chest and held together by fish rib bones, silver eyes, a C cup chest and wide ass, long black diagonal tattoos on her arms, hands, neck, lips and near the eyes that look similar to veins, wearing a long sleeved white robe with black fur on the sleeves, shoulders and collar, a floor length skirt made of leather bear skin with a single opening near the center, six gold branch like arm bands going down her arms, thick gold coated Beowolf teeth earrings carved into the shape of a single eye and had dangling iron balls attached to red string at the tips, a long golden necklace in the shape of a spider's web studded with ivory and light blue dust crystals, light brown deer skinned leggings that went to her hips, thick white fox skinned boots with pointed iron tips, and a golden crown studded with gold covered antlers and iron cross shaped ornaments hanging from the sides of the horns by red ropes, who gave off an aura of innocence and...pain for some reason.

As each one moved towards him, due to them busy talking to each other about something, the blonde stopped and raised an eyebrow at Jaune as the other two girls brushed passed him, causing the same faint white aura to form over his body, and moved towards their thrones to take a seat.

'Wait...what was with the stuff on Ruby? It was mostly blank.' Jaune thought as the alternative Yang walked over to him.

"Who are you? I haven't seen you here before...and why are you wearing such clothes?" 'And have a woman-shaped bag on your hips? Is it a deity or his lover?'

"Oh, names Jaune Arc." he said while the two other women took notice of him and watched the 'show' in front of them. "And I...I'm a Protector too. Well, one that's still rough around the edges."

"Oh? Really now?"

"Yeah and um...you're Yang right?"

She raised an eyebrow as 'Ruby' walked towards them and smiled.

"Hi. I am the Pristress of the Two Lovers, Ruby the Young. Nice to meet you, Jaune of Arc." she said with a smile. "So...what brings you here?"

"Would you believe I got lost?" he asked in a joking manner while Ruby cocked her head a little. "Anyway, I'm not from around here and a guy named Taiyang saved my butt earlier so…"

"So you were the one my husband talked about in the forges." the red eyed woman asked with an inserted look on her face. "The boy that ran from the Grimm Mountain and radiated heat like the burning stars."

"Eh?"

"The clothes. The lack of wet hair." she pointed to Jaune's attire, making him realize that she was referring to his Second Chance semblance. "You act like a Silver Eyes, yet you bear no allegiance to them. Tell me, are you from Vauco? Vale? The southern tip of Mistral?"

"Um…."

"Mother." Ruby huffed. "Stop questioning him!"

"Fine, but he asked to answer it at the banquet." Raven shrugged while Jaune blinked.

"Wait? Banquet?"

"Yep." Yang chimed in with a smirk. "Father's hunt was a success and so we celebrate another glorious hunt, and you are the guest of honor...well that's what father rambled on about while beguiling Ruby with stories of the frozen seas."

Jaune blinked while Raven eyed him like a hawk. "Oh, so I'm a guest. Well I don't mind staying but I need to go in the mor-"

"No." Raven frowned. "You won't leave until you prove to me you CAN survive outside these walls."

"Wait what!? I can so survive!"

"No you can't. I can see it from your hesitation, your nervous tone and your weak frame. You are a fledgling Protector and will die from the cold in a matter of minutes." she frowned as Ruby and Yang nodded in agreement, much to Jaune's dismay. "But I can train you to survive long enough to find another village, I might be Raven the Merciless, but even I can see the raw potential you have, just waiting to be unleashed."

'Well...that was both reassuring...and painful to my pride.' He thought while Yang walked away, leaving Ruby and Raven in the room.

"Just remember." Raven said while walking towards her daughter. "I won't hold back, even if you're a guest of the Patch Clan."

Jaune blinked before seeing Ruby take him by the right hand and pulled him away. "Ah! What are you doing!?"

"I'm trying to get you some armor and appropriate clothes. You look silly without fur." She giggled.

"But I'm fine like this!"

"Just humor me, please?" she asked while looking WAY too cute for Jaune to resist as they disappeared into a dark hallway to the right of the five thrones.

-Upper Rafterers of the Temple-

"I can't believe it." grumbled Grimm Weiss while currently in the cold, spider web filled rafters as her team was shivering from the cold, although Blake was currently looking down into the banquet hall from a small hole on the semi rotten beams of oak wood. "I can't believe these humans are so...so stupid! Achoo!"

"Salem blesses you." said her team at once.

"Sniff. I hate this, being in the attic of a human building, without a proper bed!"

"It could be worse." Grimm Ruby said while currency hugging her sister for warmth, who just seemed to be trying to hibernate like a lizard, sticking her tongue out in the process as well.

"How?"

"Well, we could be out in the snow right...wait, if snow is real then...did the headmistress know? I mean we have been living on ooze for ages, so maybe if we bring the snow home-"

"Hush." Grimm Blake whispered while Grimm Weiss, who was enjoying the idea of an alternative source of fuel for her family company...and Grimm Blake's ass, raised an eyebrow as Grimm Blake's ears twitched. "I'm trying to learn where we are."

"Zzzzzzz."

"And please keep Yang awake." The Faun-Grimm deadpanned while keeping her eyes on the banquet below, ignoring her growling stomach and acidic drool. 'Damn, some of that stuff is better looking than the cafeteria crap.'

Grimm Ruby sighed before poking Grimm Yang in the eyes.

"AH!" she cried out while holding her eyes, the skin around her arms bubbling as her eyes turned lilac. "What the fuck!?"

"Yang, calm down." Ruby said with a hint of fear in her tone. "I was just trying to keep you from falling asleep."

"..." she grumbled as her eyes returned to normal. "Next time, just do it the normal way."

"And that would be?"

"Letting Hot Grimm kiss me, duh."

"Not happening." Blake deadpanned.

"Aw come on!"

(One month later)

It was a rather cold a bleak day as Jaune, now clad in with a long sleeved gray and brown robe with thick black Beowolf lined fur on the cuffs and collar, his signature chest plate and spaulders along with his gloves and belts, a thick black Beowolf fur cloak that covered his sides and seemed to still have the darkened bloodstains of its last kill, several thick yet rusting iron, copper and Stone Dust plates attached with red strong on his legs, waist and shoulders that were in the shape of a snarling Beowolf's head, old yet vibrant gray deerskin leggings with small tufts of black Beowolf fur near the knees, and black Beowolf skinned boots with a single iron heel in the back, was busy training with the matriarch of the Patch Clan.

The reason for his new attire? Simple, he was wearing it over his own clothes, which made him feel warmer than normal but it did make him more appealing to the residence of Patch than looking 'naked'. Although his sneakers were completely drenched and destroyed from the snow and ice so...he had to make do with an old pair of sticky boots from Yang's wardrobe.

However...he really didn't like the feel of this attire, not saying it didn't help him, but it just felt constricting around his body, especially when he spent a month getting used to the feel of raw iron on his limbs.

SLASH!

CLANG!

But he did have an interesting month here in Patch, as it was called by the locals, for one, he got to know these versions of Ruby and Yang more and while Yang wasn't much of a talker he did have some fun times with her, especially trying to out drink the other at banquets. He also was able to get to know Ruby and he was amazed how sheltered she was, like more then he knew her in his own timeline, especially when he regaled her with some talks of his heroics, which were mostly falsehoods but it didn't matter, Ruby was interested in them all the same. Plus he learned that she was also the resident forger of weapons for the village...although she didn't seem to clarify at all and he didn't want to ruin their budding friendship so kept quiet.

Although...he did learn a few other things, such as how to use a knife, which didn't seem interesting or useful at first but in the first week, he was able to not stab himself in the hands or get stabbed in the chest more then once by the former red eyed bandit queen. Yes, he got stabbed a lot, and by that he got stabbed over a hundred and nine times-

SQUISH!

"AH!"

Scratch that, a hundred and ten times since he started training and well, he is getting better. Especially when he finally learned how to throw the knives in mid combat...but even then, it will take time until he becomes a master and well, it might take a few decades or more.

"Ah...ah..." Jaune panted while holding a long hand sized gray iron knife, which had an inward curving blade coated in a red crystalline edge, long red threads at the hilt and an elegantly designed twin curved King Taijitu hilts that wrapped around the base of the blade, in his right hand, sweat beading down his bloodied body as Raven, who seemed to be in control judging by the lack of sweat, held her similarly made knife, which lacked the King Taijitu design in favor of a Nevermore's talons, in her left arm with a satisfied smirk.

"Too slow to react." She said while cracking her neck a little. "Even with your training, you couldn't dodge a child."

The blonde panted while his body started to glow a faint white color, his cuts slowly healing as he could feel the cells making up the skin stitching themselves a little. "Ah...cut me some slack...I'm still learning."

"Slowly." Raven retorted while watching Jaune's body heal itself up, only to stab him in the shoulder, again. "That little trick might be useful but as you said yourself on day one, it won't save you forever. So learn fast or die young, boy."

"AH!"

As the two continued to spar with each other, the blonde traveler having a hard time keeping up with his teacher, the young Priestess of the Two Lovers watched the spar from behind a door frame, looking rather interested in this particular moment.

But it wasn't for the reasons one would think, yes her step mother was fighting and she did look up to her...but it was the young stranger that she was currently spying on.

For what reason, one would ask, simple...she admired him, no, loved him. Ever since she was young, the Silver Eyed girl was a romantic and would try and imagine herself not as a priestess but as a normal girl with a loving boyfriend...the problem was that she was devoted to the Two Lovers and was naive to the harsh world outside her village, leaving her pinning for a friend and lover in the process.

'He's so cool.' Ruby thought while watching Jaune getting stabbed, multiple times in the hands and arms by her step mom's knives. 'Well he's not a good fighter but he's still cool...but does he see me as a woman or just a priestess? Mmm...maybe I should ask Yang about wooing someone? I mean she does get suitors all the time-wait. He's looking at me! Oh my, he's so cute when he's looking for mercy!'

'Shit! This still hurts!' Jaune yelled in pain while Raven pulled out the knife from his left palm and placed it in between the right side of her belt before walking away.

"We will continue this once you are rested, return here once that happens." she said before leaving Jaune and an unseen Ruby alone, although she did glance at Ruby, who waved to her with a smile. 'When will she stop acting like a little girl and talk to the boy like a normal human? The tension is irritating to watch and I just want her to settle down and act like a normal girl...if she has that long that is. No, don't even think about it, just focus on patrol duty, nothing else.'

"Ah..ah...ah...ah…" Jaune panted while his body began to heal, but noticed that his armor looked about ready to break. 'Maybe I should replace this? I mean it looks nice but it might break if I have to go into the wilderness again.'

As Jaune looked at his armor, he didn't notice that Ruby was quietly walking behind him with a nervous smile plastered on her face.

'Ok...just move towards him and don't be stupid. You are a confident priestess, not...ok maybe I am a maiden but this is different!' she thought before tapping his elbow, getting his attention very quickly. "Hi. I see you...did well with mother."

"You mean terrible right?" he asked with a hint of sarcasm as he knew that he was not so good with knives, swords yes but not knives, and Ruby, well this version at least, knew it.

"Well, you are getting better." Ruby admitted with a chuckle, making Jaune sigh a little. "But it's not all bad. You really improved."

"...maybe, but that doesn't explain why you're here. Weren't you busy...doing priestess stuff?" He asked while putting his knives away.

"It's not just being a priestess." She rolled her eyes, annoyed. "It's making sure the statues are cleaned and….other stuff."

"Like?"

"...that's complicated."

'Same old answer.' Jaune thought with a groan. 'It's always that same answer, and even when her hair is singed she won't tell me anything. Aren't we friends? Well friends from an alternative timeline...ugh. That still confuses me!'

'Should I tell him?' Ruby thought while staring at his eyes. 'I mean if he has the same feelings as me it might be easier to tell him...but what if he is repulsed? Disgusted even?'

'Why is she looking at my eyes like that?' he asked himself while feeling a little unnerved, since this version of Ruby had a 'glare' not seen with his own Ruby. "So...I have to get going-"

"Wait!" Ruby interrupted while holding Jaune's hands, which the blonde thought was confusing as her hands were extremely warm for some reason. "I need to say something important!"

"R-Ruby?" he said with a light blush as he tried to regain control of his own emotions, given that this was not only unexpected but highly unlike the normally reserved girl he knew as friend. 'Is she upset? Wait...is this something important? Like...um...I have no idea but maybe she wants to help with training or getting information. I know my Scroll's fine but it would be appreciative...gah! Calm down, brain!'

Ruby gulped while making a serious face as she gripped the boy's hands tightly. "I...I haven't been honest with you. Ever since you came to my father's home I have been keeping this a secret from you."

Jaune looked confused at this while Ruby continued.

"There's a reason why I'm a priestess of the Two Lovers. Why I always prevent you from going to the forge." she said while expelling a heavy sigh, several small orange cracks forming near her lips in the process. "Why you don't see me fight along with my family...I..I have a gift."

"...eh?" he said while seeing some embers forming near Ruby's lips. 'Wait, does she have a fire semblance? No, I know she had her normal semblance...unless they have two semblances in this timeline...no that's still impossible.'

"In the stories of my people, the Two Lovers created the Silver Eyes to protect humanity from the Grimm." She said as the cracks started to inch towards her cheeks. "But left behind something unwanted. We can control heat but...if we use too much or store it up for too long then...we die."

Jaune's eyes widened in shock. "W-What!?"

"I don't view it as a curse, but one day I will die." she said sadly. "But thanks to it, I was able to help craft the blades, armor and other necessities for my people. And I want to help them, but."

Jaune paled as he tried to calm down, but couldn't as his 'friend from another timeline' could actually DIE and he didn't have a clue how to stop it. "B-But what?"

"I just wanted to tell you this so...we could-"

BAM!

BAM!

"AHHHHHHH!" screamed one of the guards from outside the temple as the sounds of wood breaking and breasial roars could be heard outside.

"What the!?"

"Grimm? Here?" Ruby said with wide eyes while her breath started to heat the air like a furnace. "But how, no Grimm has been able to destroy the walls for years."

Jaune quickly pulled out his sword and shield, a little confident in his ability to kill a single Grimm, and ran out of the room.

"Wait Jaune! Come back!"

"Can't, I have to defend the village."

"But there might be more than one Grimm!" she yelled while running after him.

(Elsewhere)

-Upper Rafterers of the Temple-

Grimm RWBY peeked out of a corner of the rafters and were kinda confused about one single thing.

"Hot Stuff." Grimm Yang said while looking at Blake, who deadpanned at the nickname.

"What?"

"When did the lesser Grimm get into the village?"

Grimm Weiss facepalmed. "Yang Xiao Long! Did you forget that Higher Grimm like us can attract lesser Grimm?"

"...shit." Grimm Yang facepalmed while Grimm Ruby chuckled nervously.

"Yeah, maybe saying here, sneaking the food and stuff, was a bad idea." she said while Grimm Blake grumbled.

"The weather is too cold for any of us and I would rather save my strength against a worthy foe than these mindless animals." she grumbled. "Plus we might be a good team but Weiss' special ability only works for so long."

"Hey!" Grimm Weiss huffed in anger. "It's not my fault that I already have one of each lesser Grimm in my body, and not in the kinky way either! I rather have rare 'fallen' to consume than a mediocre feast."

"Um guys." Grimm Ruby deadpanned. "Maybe we should just make a hasty retreat, find the human and use that red thing to get out of here."

"I'm all for it." Grimm Yang said while sneezing. "I'm sick of the cold."

"Then we are in agreement." Grimm Blake said before looking around for an opportunity to move away from the slaughter of 'humans', or whatever they were since she was still unused to the smell of 'Non Grimm'. "First sign of the blonde and we leave. And no weapons."

"Agreed, my Myrtenaster shouldn't be tainted by lesser Grimm, again." Grimm Weiss said while internally thinking that if she did use her weapon, it might either shatter from the cold or break the tip aka her nails. 'I really hate my weapon sometimes.'

(Elsewhere)

"RRRRROOOOOAAARRRR!" howled a Beowolf, covered in thick white ice like armor and standing five times the height of a normal Beowolf, as it stood on top of a burning house, a large group of various Grimm of different sizes and species attacked the village with impunity, the entire village burning to the ground in the process.

Death was rampant as the villagers began to run or hide from the Grimm, unable to understand why after many years of protection, their Protectors failed to keep Patch from being turned into a living nightmare.

"AHHH!"

"Why have the Protectors forsaken us!?"

The camera quickly zoomed around the burning village, smoke billowing into the air like formless trees, as legions of Grimm charged into the village and broke through several of the wooden walls like they were made of paper, although this was only due to the massive Megoliaths using their tusks to rip the supports off from the frozen ground. The screams of hundreds rang out as the camera zoomed towards several key areas.

The first was the mangled corpse of Qrow the Blind, his body being feasted upon by oversized white colored Nevermores, each one pecking a limb off and fighting amongst themselves for the semi warm remains.

The second was a battle, one between Taiyang the Strong and Raven the Merciless, each one struggling against hordes of ice covered Ursa and unnaturally strong yet normal looking Teryx as they were covered in blackened blood and Grimm ooze.

The third was of Yang the Beautiful, with one arm usable in combat, punching the brains out of several Sabyr's, each one larger and bulkier than their normal counterparts, as the iron gauntlet broke their skulls and masks with each consecutive punch as her body was covered in scratches and blood.

And the final key area was of Jaune and Ruby, each one currently fighting against a very large and strangely bulky Nuckelavee, with the blonde having a very difficult time landing a hit on the Grimm and having his armor crack and shatter several times in the battle while Ruby, with her large scythe and ability to superheat the blade itself, was able to cut off at least one of the arms before getting grabbed by the other hand.

Needless to say, they were in a very difficult situation, especially when Jaune was trying to figure out how to use those Semblances stored in his Multi-Semblance ability...and getting nothing in return.

'Damn it Omni!' he thought in anger while dodging a strike from a charging Beowolf, the last of his armor breaking off in the process as his normal armor revealed itself and helped block the near collision of the beast's ice-covered jaw. 'Why didn't you tell me HOW to use it in battle!'

"Grrrrr." growled the Nuckelavee as it squeezed Ruby tightly, her face slowly forming orange cracks that quickly changed into a bright red color, as she tried to get out of it's grip.

Sissle.

Sissle.

'Pain..so much pain...' she thought as the very air began to warm and the Grimm's hand began to burn, the skin bubbling as it cried out in pain and released the girl as she fell right onto the snowy ground. 'So much pain...must...control...flames...ah!'

Sissle.

Sissle.

Wooosh!

"Ah!" Jaune cried out while getting clawed in the face, his aura and artificial semblance healing the small and large injuries to his eyes as he noticed that the entire ground was starting to turn into a molten sludge and the Grimm seemingly catching on fire for some reason. "Wait the-ah Hot hot!"

As he jumped to his feet and moved away, he didn't notice that Grimmverse RWBY were currently on a nearby rooftop trying to get away from the fire all around them, but did notice that Ruby, her body covered in bright red cracks and expelling superheated flames from her mouth and nose, was holding her head in pain as the very environment around her started to cook and burn like a furnace, and the temperature was increasing drastically.

"Ruby!"

"Stay back!" Ruby yelled while several Ursa, each one the size of a small house, roared and tried to move towards the silver eyed girl, only to catch one fire as their masks melted off to reveal a boiling black tar like substance leaking from their heads as bone shards began to crack and fall off like dried tinder. "I-I can't hold it!"

Jaune, very much horrified that this was happening, saw a red portal forming right in front of him, seemingly tempting him to get into it and escape this frozen hellscape...if he didn't want to save his new friend that was. As he raced towards the now in pain Ruby, his body started to burn a little as Ruby's hair started to catch on fire and the cracks began to turn a bright blue color. "Ruby! Let me help you please!"

The Priestess, seeing that she has little time and not wanting Jaune to die in the most painful way possible, quickly ran to him, just as Grimmverse RWBY, seeing their chance, jumped into the portal and away from the flames, and pushed him right into the portal.

But as she did, she said something that shattered Jaune's world to the core.

"I love you." she said while closing her eyes, a lone tear evaporating instantly as her body began to glow a bright silver color. "Live, for my sake."

"W..w..w..-"

ZOOP!

'Goodbye...Jaune.' she thought for the last time before-

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Everything was engulfed in silver, the screen burning along with everything else as the world became black.

To be continued in the next chapter.

Semblance(s): Petal Burst/Speed

Bio: In this timeline, when the Twin Gods of Light and Darkness destroyed the first age of mankind and left, the shattered moon's shards crashed landed on the planet so hard that it shifted the orbit and caused the climate to change from mild to a near permanent ice age, causing Remnant to become a near permanent snowball planet with very little warm areas dotting random places in both hemispheres. One such Protector was Ruby the Young, the adopted child of Taiyang the Strong and Raven the Merciless who was born with the legendary Silver Eyes and it's ancient curse. The curse, called the Silver Eyes curse by the locals, was a failed attempt by Salem and Ozma to reheat the planet using the Silver Eyes as a catalyst to change normal elements into combustible materials and possibly radioactive materials, however it backfired and created a curse that causes a Silver Eyes Warrior to radiate intense levels of heat that, if not expelled in regular intervals or overloaded, will cause them to explode like a miniature nuclear bomb, which caused the small patches of heat found at random across Remnant. The child, not knowing about the curse's origins, began to view it as a gift from the Two Lovers, deified versions of Salem and Ozma that stayed together in an unknown place in the north and 'created' the Silver Eyes and the curse that went along with it, and became the local Priestess of the Two Lovers, praying to them for salvation and good hunts to the point of semi obsession. Viewing her step mother and sisters as role models along with her adopted family, she is devoted to them and has become a scythe wielder to help protect her people, although because of her innocent nature, she is unfamiliar with the harsh world outside her village, even if she's a romantic at heart. Currently, her whereabouts are unknown.

Grimm Slime Immunity: A [A skill made by the user's unintentionally foolish action of drinking Grimm Slime, the most corruptive force in the RWBYverse, in its rawest form. Thanks to the Second Chance Skill, the user is immuned from its toxic effects, but if exposed to more than a teaspoon's worth, it can still turn him into a Grimm...maybe. Who knows? But yuck, who would drink that stuff normally!?]

Hardened Body: D+ [Due to a certain incident involving the user and a fast moving object from the Grimmverse, the user's body has been toughened by the Second Chance Semblance to increase the user's bones, muscles and skin in direct opposition from blunt force trauma. In short, the user is now capable of surviving getting hit by hard objects or beings, but it still hurts. Can be increased with time and training.]

Cold Immunity: C- [A skill that causes the user's body to expel a small amount of heat to keep cold air or temperatures from harming the body. It grows stronger with constant exposure to the cold. But it doesn't mean one can run around in the snow naked….no matter how funny that would be.]

Knife Immunity (Skin): B [A skill that increases the user's skin to prevent knives from piercing their skin, however it only works on knives, not swords or anything else with a thicker blade or piercing weapon. Bleeding can still occur from internal damage.]

Parameters:

Strength: C+

Agility: C

Luck: D

Endurance: C

Intelligence: C

Mana/Magic: ? [Currently Unusable/Nonexistent.]

Aura: A-

Semblance: A~EX [Depends on the situation and the amount of Aura placed into the Semblance.]

Semblance: Aura Amp (E~EX) [Anti-Self/Anti-Healing.] {A Semblance capable of amplifying the users Aura, along with those they deem allies, to increase an Aura's effects. Ex- Increased Aura healing, increased Aura defence/damage reflection, increased Aura capabilities of the user, etc. Due to both inexperience and a certain deities' manipulations, this Semblance is sealed indefinitely.}

Semblance: Multi-Semblance (?) [Unknown] {A Semblance made by an outside force, an artificial Semblance to be exact. It allows the user to gain, evolve and fuse different Semblances that the user does not normally have. However there is a set limit on how many the user can use at a time, usually five to six, and the cool off times for each are varied in nature. But besides these letdowns, the skill is versatile enough to keep the user alive...given the amount of Aura they have. It is not the main Semblance, but designated as a Skill.}

Semblance: Second Chance (A+) [Anti-Unit] {A Semblance that allows the user to heal, adapt and evolve their body from any form of attack or injury, physically but mentally is a bit slow to respond, and gain an immunity to whatever hurt the user in the first place. Ex- Harden skin, tougher bones, faster response time for bullets, immunity to poison, bigger muscles, ect. It can only work if the Aura levels are active, if not then it will not work.}

Weapon(s): Crocea Mors [An ancient blade with a collapsible shield/sheath from the Great War that created the Four Kingdoms. Not really modern per say in the modern Remnant Era but was an excellent weapon for a member of the Arc family.]

Items(s): RWBYverse Scroll [A special Scroll made by a certain deity to give the user some basic information of the RWBYverse. By combining the now destroyed Beacon Scroll's data with special otherworldly materials not common in this part of the omniverse, it is virtually indestructible and hack proof. But it still needs Wi-Fi for anything game or CCTS related, unfortunately.]

Items(s): Bag of Pyrrha [A specialized subspace pocket dimension fitted with the soft fabric body of Pyrrha Nikos, the Invincible Girl, in a naked situation. Capable of holding even the largest of objects or the most hazardous of substances, this bag is essential for all the user's needs and personal objects. The likeness of Pyrrha Nikos was a joke made by a certain being and can NOT be seen as anything other than a naked bag version of the woman, no matter how naive the user is. It does NOT have any filter system to make it look like a normal bag.]

Items(s): Beowolf Fur Coat and Armor [A set of iron, copper and Stone Dust armor that can withstand heavy winds and blows from iron blades...if in prime condition. As it stands, only the Ursa fur coat is new, the armor however….is rusting and won't withstand high caliber blades for more than two minutes. Poor user.]

Items(s): Iron Plated Beowolf Fur Boots [A pair of iron boots with a fur trim made of study Beowolf fur. Allows the user to stay above the snow and can, in some situations, trek through mud, sand and dirt. Unusually smelly.]

Items(s): Fire Dust Coated/Infused Knives (Twenty) [A set of iron knives that are infused or coated by Fire Dust. The temperature usually made for such weapons, especially in a certain cold timeline, is about 20,000 degrees or higher, making them extremely difficult to create without the aid of either a fire based semblance or a curse involving heat. A staple of the Branwen Clan and the Patch Tribe, the making of such knives is a guarded secret...although it could be due to a certain _ influence during the smelting process.]
