The Return Chapter 23: Our New Fighters, a digimon fanfic

AQUA: HI!

EVERYONE: HELLO!

TAKUYA: Hey, Aqua. Do you happen to have tickets for a Tonight Alive concert?

AQUA: Um, no. Why?

TAKUYA: It's cuz Z wanted to go to one and I promised her tickets

AQUA: HO HO HOOOOO, TAKI! You just got yourself in trouble. If you don't get Zoe those tickets...

AMY: You're a dead man.

TAKUYA: 0-0...what have I done.

AQUA: lol. So thanks to everyone who reviewed, followed and favorited! And by the way, Justin K? I actually LOVE that idea so I'm so going to use it :)

CALUMON: Aquamarine6996 does not own Digimon Frontier, Adventure 02 or any of its characters. She does not own Nova Kurata because he belongs to Lightus of the Light. She only owns Amy, Steph, Lili and some other stuff.

Sirenmon blocked a kick from Katashimon and used her bow to try and knock her off her feet. Katashimon back flipped and threw a couple of knives at her.

Sirenmon flew up just in time and from the air, aimed an arrow at the blue leopard. "Sound Wave Arrow!"

Katahismon hissed as Sirenmon's attack hit her, making her fly backwards. In the air, she grabbed on to a tree branch and swung around it once, twice, three times and launched herself towards the angel. She grabbed some knives, one in each hand, and prepared to stab Sirenmon wherever she could.

Sirenmon saw the glint of the knives from the sunlight and held her bow like a baseball, ready for impact.

"HELLO!" hissed Katahimon and held out her knives.

Sirenmon smirked. "And GOODBYE!"

Sirenmon hit Katashimon on her rib cage and Katashimon howled as she flew back down towards the earth.

Sirenmon took a moment to caught her breath. 'Man, she's good.' she thought and looked down where Katashimon landed.

But to her surprise, she saw nothing but a cat-like shape on the ground.

"Where'd she go?"

Lili tried to control her fear as Ken held her legs tightly. She looked back and cried out when the Sombras they had left behind, were now close by.

Kari, TK and Nova, along with their partner Digimon, stayed behind the group and Gatomon, Patamon and Impmon tried to slow the Sombras down.

"Kouichi, we're running out of room to run to!" Ken yelled.

Kouichi, who was running behind them, holding Bokomon and Neemon, gasped when he realized they were running into a canyon. "Damn it!" he shouted.

'What do I do, WHAT DO I DO?' Kouichi desperately tried to think of an idea but couldn't think.

Cody, who was in front, stopped when they almost reached the edge of the canyon, bare of anything. He looked around at the frightened Digimon.

"What do we do, Mister?" a Pagumon asked shakily.

"Is this the part where we die?"

Armadillomon pulled on Cody's arm. "Cody, let me Digivolve!"

Cody waited until Kouichi ran out of the trees with Ken, Wormmon and Lili. "Where're the others?" he asked Wormmon.

"I think Kari and the others are still trying to slow them down." Bokomon answered for him.

Cody turned his head towards Kouichi, who was getting stressed out trying to think. "I'm going to let Armadillomon digivolve."

Kouichi nodded. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay!"

Cody took out his Digivice and knowing that the Emblem he belonged to was activated, held it up. "Let's do this, Armadillomon!"

Armadillomon closed his eyes as he was covered in a blue light. "Armadillomon digivolve to...Ankylomon!"

So the moment Kari, Gatomon and the boys burst out the forest, the Sombras right on their tails, the dinosaur-like Digimon swung the iron sphere on the tip of his tail. "Tail Hammer!"

Ankylomon's attack caught the Sombras by surprise. Nova fist pumped when Ankylomon swung his tail so hard, it caught all of them and threw them all back into the forest. "YEAH!"

Cody climbed on Ankylomon's back and he looked back towards Kouichi. "I'm going to try and stop them."

"But you can't, my boy!" Bokomon cried. "You're too small!"

Cody kept on looking towards the Warrior of Darkness. "No offense, but you can't exactly protect us."

Kouichi looked taken back. 'I don't think he trusts me. But other than that, he's the only one who can fight them well...and I still have my powers so I'm not completely useless.'

Kouichi sighed grimly. "Go ahead...but I'm coming with you." he said and Cody stuttered when Kouichi ran ahead of him into the forest.

"Cody, just go!" yelled Kari.

Anklymon turned his head and soon, they disappeared form sight.

Ken put Lili down and looked around his surroundings. "I don't think it's safe for us to be here. We should try to leave this place."

Tk nodded. "He's right, we're in a dead end. We might as well keep on moving on the canyon's edge since all the fighting's in the forest."

Nova looked up at the sky and he had a perfect view of Sirenmon flying above the trees in the distance. And once in a while, he could see Sora's group fighting as well. He clenched his fists in frustration. "Damn it, Impmon! We should be fighting too!"

Impmon pulled on his partner's leg. "Come on, buddy. They're leaving us!"

Sirenmon's bow was now in Katashimon's hands and she back flipped as she tried to avoid Katashimon, who was using her bow to attack.

Sirenmon kicked her bow and smirked when she made Katashimon stumble back.

"HEY! That's cheating!" hissed Katashimon.

"There's no rules in-"

Both Digimon froze when they heard voices, not too far.

"Wait up, Tk!"

'Fuck!' Sirenmon cursed.

Katashimon threw Sirenmon's bow away from them and she started to run on all fours as she dashed towards the voices.

"NO!" yelled Sirenmon as she flew towards her bow and then followed.

Sirenmon watched in horror as Katashimon moved quickly through the forest. She gave up running and flew up above the trees, her heart in her throat. Sirenmon saw a movement in the trees and screamed when a canyon appeared, the other Digimon and her fiends in danger of being attacked.

She landed not too far behind them, startling the others.

"Amy!" Lili yelled from Ken's back.

And at that moment, Katashimon sprang out of the trees and grabbed the first person she saw: Bokomon.

"BOKOMON" shouted Neemon in agony.

Poor Bokomon shook as he was held in the air by Katashimon's long claws.

Sirenmon glared the hell out of the blue leopard. "Let him go." she growled.

Katahismon looked surprised and shrugged. "Sure thing." she said and held Bokomon above the emptiness of the canyon.

"NO!" yelled everyone in union.

"What?!" said Katashimon with a smile. "You told me to let him go!"

"You know what she meant, you big meanie!" yelled Neemon. "Now, let him go!"

Jp pushed aside a tree branch and let Stephanie and Kotemon pass through. "Come on!"

Stephanie walked by him, holding Kotemon's hand. She looked up, expecting to see more trees, but she gasped sharply.

"What?" said Jp and followed Stephanie's eyes. His shoulder drooped down. "Oh..."

Stephanie turned and angrily slapped his arm. "GOD DAMN IT JP! WE'RE BACK AT THE FUCKING BEACH!"

Jp's eyes widened. "WELL, IT'S NOT MY FAULT!"

Stephanie peered over a bush and gasped when she saw Lobomon fighting a Digimon bigger than him. "Oh my gosh!"

Meanwhile, Jp quickly counted how many Sombras and Digimon servants there were. "Um, Steph?"

"What Jp?"

"I think the number increased." He gulped and shared looks with the blue-ette. "I counted twenty."

Stephanie's eyes widened and in a flash, slapped him. "WELL, WHAT ARE YOU DOING LOOKING AT ME FOR?! MIGHT AS WELL GO HELP THEM!"

Jp recovered from the slap with teary eyes. "Yes ma'am." he whined and took out his D-Tector. "You're scary." he blurted out and ran before she could attack him again.

"Execute! Spirit evolution!...Beetlemon!"

Kotemon looked to see Stephanie biting her lip as she followed Lobomon's movements. "Why don't you help them, Miss Stephanie?"

Stephanie chuckled nervously. "I wish I could, Kotemon."

To her surprise, Calumon himself flew towards them in the sky. "Hello!"

"Calumon!" Stephanie cried out as she held out her arms. "What are you doing here? I thought you were with Lili!"

Calumon smiled. "You want to help out? Well, look over there!"

The three of them looked where Calumon pointed and Stephanie gasped when something was causing a small hill appear in the sand. The hill grew taller and taller until they got to see what it was.

It was a small statue of a aqua blue mermaid. An attraction filled Stephanie and she put down Calumon to walk towards it. The statue began to glow more and more as the blue-ette got closer and closer.

Bokomon shook as he looked down and saw how far it was from him to the bottom of the canyon. "P-Please Katashimon, let me go, PLEASE!"

Katashimon shushed him and she looked back up towards Sirenmon. She smiled.

And let him go.

"BOKOMON!" everyone yelled hysterically.

Sirenmon shouted out a battle cry and used her bow to hit Katashimon, who fell back. She grabbed Katahsimon by the tail and let her go as Katashimon flew far back into the woods. Sirenmon then dove into the canyon, flapping her wings repeatedly as she fought to caught up to the falling elder.

Kari gasped and looked over the edge.

Lili was let down and she crawled over towards Neemon, who's ears was dropped down and he held his hands together. "Please, please, please, catch him!" he muttered as sweat covered his forehead.

"AMY!" Bokomon flailed his arms around and screamed in fear.

The ground was soon going to meet him, Sirenmon flapped her wings and caught up to him when he was no more than 15 feet away from the canyon floor. She hugged him to her chest and turned, making full impact with the ground.

Tk sighed in relief when he saw that Bokomon was safe. "He's good."

Everyone cheered and Neemon hugged Lili as he cried from the relief.

Nova smiled down towards his partner, but frowned when he saw from the corner of his eye two things coming over towards them. "Um, guys?"

Everyone stopped their celebration and stood silent.

Ken's eyes widened when two statues silently floated towards them from the forest. "What are they?"

"Aren't those the Spirits of Wood and Earth?" a Toucanmon called out.

"Yeah! It is!" the other Toucanmons said.

Lili watched confused as the statues floated over...to her. "Huh?"

Neemon gasped. "Lili! I think both Spirits are yours!"

'They're ours, little sister.' a voice said.

Lili cocked her head in confustion. "Who said that?"

"Said what?" asked Impmon.

'Don't worry, Lili. I'll always be with you.'

A tear escaped Lili's eyes as a smile appeared on her face. It was Ai. She didn't care how, but Ai was talking to her, and that's what mattered. And Ai was going to help her fight.

The two stautes floated towards each other intil they blended in each other, creating a new one. This time it was a fairy kneeling down on one knee, with red hair and vines covering her body.

'This is the Spirit of Nature, a combination of Wood and Earth.'

The new spirit floated closer to her, engulfing Lili in a light.

Sirenmon let her arms fall from Bokomon. Her head fell back as her body cried in pain. "Ouch."

Bokomon climbed off of her and placed his hands on her face. "My dear, are you okay?"

Sirenmon nodded stiffly and she groaned as she sat up.

Bokomon's eyes suddenly widened and he reaching into his waistband. "Here! I meant to give this to you!"

Sirenmon opened her closed eyes and focused on a purple object dangling from Bokomon's hand.

The last Emblem.

"You're the keeper of the last one?!"

Bokomon blushed. "Yes. I-I forgot to give it to you." he said and Sirenmon sweat dropped. His face then turned serious. "This Emblem is called the Misertus Emblem. And it holds the Crests of Hope, Light, Kindness and Darkness. It also holds the Spirit of Kouichi, Darkness."

Sirenmon's eyes widened and she took the Emblem from Bokomon's hands. Bokomon then watched as she flew up in the air and closed his eyes in relief.

"Now the worlds will have all the help they needed."

In the air, Sirenmon held up the Emblem in the air and shouted out the Crests and Spirit.

"THE CREATS OF HOPE, LIGHT, KINDNESS, AND DARKNESS! AND THE SPIRIT OF DARKNESS!"

Everyone in the island stopped fighting, running, etc., when they heard the Warrior of Sound's announcement.

Katashimon was barely gaining consious when she heard. "SHIT."

But other than that, five teens either gave their partners or Digi-vices a smirk. The five of them then held up their Digi-vices and called out their digivolutions.

"Patamon digivolve to...Angemon!"

"Gatomon digivolve to AngeWomon!"

"Wormmon digivolve to...Stingmon!"

"Impmon digivolve to...Devimon!"

"Execute! Spirit evolution!...Loweemon!"

And as for the two girls with their new spirits, Water and Nature, they digivolved for the first time.

"Execute! Spirit evolution!...Teramon!"

"Execute! Spirit evolution!...MeiRenyumon!"

AQUA: WOO HOO!

STEPHANIE: Time to kick some butt!

LILI: YAY!

NOVA: HELL YEAH!

EVERYONE: WOO HOO!
