Jack was going for a stroll in town. It was his first day in Japan. It was dark and rainy, but he didn't mind. Unbeknownst to him, he was noticed by a team of role-playing videogame designers. "Look at that guy. He'd be the perfect model for our protagonist," said Hiro.
Hiro parked the car, they got out, and they walked over to Jack.
"Hello, we are making a role-playing videogame. Would it be okay if we modeled the protagonist after you?" said Hiro. All Jack heard was realistic Japanese noises coming out of Hiro's mouth, and he didn't know what they meant.
"Who are you?" replied Jack.
"What's he saying?" asked a female member of the team.
"I think he's saying 'yes'," said Hiro but he was sure that wasn't what Jack was saying and that Jack couldn't understand him.
And so they took the confused Jack away to the video game development studio.
"Okay, hold still," ordered Hiro.
Since Jack only heard realistic Japanese noises coming out of Hiro's mouth, and hadn't learned Japanese, he didn't realize he was being told to hold still.
"I've got an idea. Wait till he falls asleep. Then he won't be able to move," suggested someone.
"No. We need to do it while his eyes are open," said Hiro.
Suddenly, the police busted the door open.
"We got a call about a kidnapping," said the policeman.
"How did you find us?" said Hiro.
"We spotted the car that fit the description caller gave us and followed it. The hostage looks just as they described, as well," explained the policewoman.
"Put your hands in the air," said the policeman.
"Wait! Please! We weren't going to hurt him! We were just going to use his face as a model for the protagonist of the role-playing game we're working on," said Hiro.
"Kidnapping is illegal," said the policeman.
"We didn't kidnap him! We got his consent!" said Hiro.
"Did you consent to this?" the policewoman asked Jack.
Jack remained silent.
"You don't have a clue what I'm saying, do you?"
"Book 'em."
And they all went to jail.
"What the hell just happened?" said Jack scratching his head.
