It was midnight when Sora was awoken by sniffling. Confused, she rubbed her eyes as she looked around her room in the infirmary. 'What was that?'
She noticed someone sitting by her window in an uncomfortable looking chair. His body was facing the window, so she couldn't tell if it was him who made the sound.
She shrugged. 'Oh well.' Lifting up her blanket to snuggle in them again, she turned her body and sighed. Her eyes started to droop when she heard the sniff again. Definitely him.
"Tai?"
From his position in his chair, Tai quickly wiped his tears before looking up. "What's up, Takenouchi?" He stood up and walked towards her. "Do you need something?"
Sora hesitated but, she sat up and scooched to the side. "Yeah...d-do you want to lay down with me."
Tai froze and his face felt like it was on fire. "W-what?!"
Sora narrowed her eyes. "Don't be perverted and just lay here next to me." she whispered and lifted up a corner of the blanket. "That chair looks uncomfy."
"Tell me about it." Tai muttered as he stood up. He took off his shoes and very stiffly got in bed with her. Sora smiled, amused, at how Tai laid next to her, arms and legs glued to his body, not wanting to touch an atom on her body. His face was red from embarrassment.
"Tai?"
"Y-yes, Sora?"
"How are you feeling?"
Tai didn't answer. He didn't know how to respond to that. His little sister was kidnapped right in front of his eyes days ago and he felt as if he could've done more to save her.
"I should've gone after them." Tai whispered softly.
Sora laid back down and turned her body in his direction. She wasn't there when it happened but she could only imagine how horrible it must've been to witness it. "Well...from what I've been told, they had their weapons on her right? If you would've gone after them, they probably would've hurt her."
Tai shut his eyes. "You're right. I just-" he sighed and turned his body to face her.
Sora's heart sank as he reopened his eyes and she saw how the tears started to fall on her bed.
"I'm so scared Sora. This is too much for me." Tai admitted, looking down. "This whole Sombra bs and Amy, Nova and Kari being kidnapped and saving two worlds and stopping Bashidamon...it's too much. I don't know what to do." His chocolate brown eyes looked at her. "And we almost lost you. I was so scared when I saw you lying here on your bed and I didn't even want to think about the possibility of losing you forever. But every now and then, the thought creeped up and I couldn't handle it, so I would go out to the garden after everyone went to sleep and I would just cry...and now here I am again, being robbed of someone who I love with everything I have. It shouldn't have been Kari. It should've been me."
Sora quietly placed her hand on Tai's cheek as his voice started to break.
"It should've been me, Sora! I should've thrown myself in front of her when DarkSirenmon reached out to grab her. I can't handle not knowing where she is or what's being done to her and I don't even know if her or Nova got separated and if she's on her own or-"
"Tai. Can I say something?" Sora asked and when Tai nodded, she continued. "You're overthinking this. Yes, I don't know what it's like to have a sister kidnapped but I can tell you this: Kari's a very smart girl. You two have been separated before and everything came out fine. Now, I'm not saying I know the future but what I can say is that overthinking isn't helping you and isn't helping her. Kari is probably thinking of a way to send out some sort of signal or something to help in locating her, Nova and hopefully Amy. Until then, I think you should focus on finding some sort of clue, something that could lead you to them. You gotta meet her in the middle, Tai. Don't let her do all the work. Besides," Sora smiled as she gently stroked his cheek. "You got a whole team of people and Digimon helping you out and I'm sure all of them, for one reason or another, want revenge on the Digimon who are the cause of all this evil. You're not alone. And as soon, as the doctor releases me from here, I'll be right by your side."
Tai's heart filled as her words hit him. She's right. "Thanks Sora. You're absolutely right."
"Of course I am." Sora grinned as she cuddled closer to him. "I'm a genius compared to you."
"WOW okay." Tai said with surprise. Now comfortable with being on the same bed, he placed his arm on Sora's side and she lifted up her head to rest it upon his chest. Tai smiled and hugged her. He then looked up at the ceiling and sighed, finally feeling a bit better after days since the kidnapping. 'Don't worry Kari. I'll find you' the thought put a smile on his face.
"As soon as I find her, I'll unleash hell on all of them," he said.
Sora giggled. "I don't know why, but I just imagined you facing the bad guys as a fire breathing dragon."
"Probably not me, but I'm sure Takuya would be able to do that. Since he can literally touch fire and everything involving fire."
Sora nodded. "I wonder what your Digimon name would be."
"Taimon obviously. I would totally 'RAWR XD' at the bad guys."
Silence filled the infirmary.
"Yeah, remind me to never let you name things or get on Tumblr again."
Tai and Sora weren't the only ones awake.
Joe, Gomamon, Izzy and Tentomon were in one of the many offices in the Celestial Castle. Gomamon and Tentomon slept as the boys worked. Izzy tapped away on his laptop and every once in a while, sighed out loud with the occasional muttering.
Joe was on the floor, sheets of documents spread around him. He looked over the file they received from Angemon earlier in the day.

Takuya, Tai, Izzy and Joe were called into Gennai's office. Joe's anxiety was sky-high as he followed the group inside. He didn't know what they were called in for but he had a bad feeling about it.
Inside the office, Gennai and an Angemon were inside speaking, but stopped when the boys walked in.
"Thank you for coming in, gentlemen." Gennai said with a small smile.
"No problem...so what did you need us for?" asked Tai.
Gennai gestured towards Angemon. "Angemon? Would you like to repeat what you told me?"
Angemon nodded as he turned to pick up a file from the desk beside him. "I come from a prison in the Other World. I work as a messenger to one of the prisoners there to whom I owe my life to." he held out the file toward Izzy's direction.
Izzy reached for it and opened it as the other boys took a peak.
"The Mon who gave me this told me that this came from another fellow prisoner of hers. She was told to let me know that the file contains an idea as to how Sombras are made."
Joe gasped at Angemon. "Can we put an end to them?"
Takuya shook his head as he read over Izzy's shoulder, disagreeing with him. "Don't think so buddy. Maybe to stop them being produced, but not totally get rid of them."
"I don't get it…" Izzy said. "Who sent you this?"
Angemon shook his head. "Sorry, I didn't ask. The less names I know, the better. Could put them at risk if I had asked who gave the file to my friend."
"Perhaps later on they might send out more useful information." replied Tai and nodded. "Okay, let's keep it at that."
Takuya suddenly looked up. "...what if Amy was the one who sent this?"
Silence filled the room.
"I'm sorry for bursting your bubble, but there are several prisons in the Other World so I'm not sure if Lady Lapumon is in the same prison as my contact's." Angemon replied. "But I can try and find out."
Gennai nodded. "Yes, please find out. The quicker we find out where she is, the quicker we can recover her and find out a way to get Lucemon's data out of her before it's too late. Hopefully Kari and Nova are there as well." He then looked at Izzy and Joe. "And that reminds me...I have a task for you two."

Joe picked up a page from the file and sighed as he looked at a large black and white picture of Kiwimon, who was in his cell and angrily looking at whoever was taking the picture.
'What a fighter.' thought Joe as he put the picture down. Picking up another page, he once again read what was on it:

Joe shuddered as he read the next sentence.
March 5th:
-deceased. .
Was it the Sombra copier machine thingie that killed him? Or something else? He thought about it but it was more than likely it was the copier's fault.
Izzy suddenly slammed his fist on the desk he worked in, causing Joe to jump. "What's wrong?" he exclaimed.
Izzy groaned as he covered his face with his hands. "I cahn fegur ut hat to oo" he muttered, his hand making it hard to understand.
"...huh."
"I can't figure out what to do!" Izzy repeated as he lowered his hands in defeat. "I don't know why Gennai asked us to figure out a way to get Lucemon's data out of her. The only way I can think of is..." he lowered his voice. "destroying her."
Joe shook his head. "You know that's not an option."
"Don't you think I know that?!" Izzy snapped. "That's the only way her data is exposed! We expose her data and Takuya and the others can separate her data from Lucemon!"
"But how do we even know that she has data?"
"She's a Digimon!"
"She's HALF Digimon!"
"I KNOW!" Izzy exclaimed.
The two boys looked at each other in silence. Joe could see the stress his friend had and sighed. "I'm sorry."
"No..." sighed Izzy and covered his face again. "I'M sorry. I shouldn't have raised my voice at you."
Tentomon and Gomamon were awoken during the shouting and looked at each other in silence. Both heads turned when Joe suddenly spoke to them. "Sorry for waking you up."
Gomamon yawned. "It's okay."
"Are you okay Izzy?" Tentomon asked as he walked towards his partner.
Izzy sighed and sat back on his chair. "I'll be okay, Tentomon. I just can't figure out a way to do what Gennai asked."
Tentomon and Gomamon got to thinking. What a tricky thing to figure out. After a few moments of silence, they all started throwing ideas around as they sat on the floor.
"Maybe we could get one of the Celestial Digimon to fight her until she's weak?"
"We could maybe try and see if she can get it out herself?"
"What if she digivolves into her weakest form and MAYBE we could take the data out somehow?"
"Could we maybe tell Kouichi to give her motivation to release the data?"
"We can beg it to go away?"
"What if Nova and Kari take it out using their crests?"
"Yeah Kouji and Kouichi can help out too..."
"WAIT WAIT WAIT" Izzy looked wide eyed at Gomamon. "Say that again?!"
"I said 'what if Nova, Kari, Kouji and Kouchi somehow use their crests and spirits to separate her data from Lucemon's data?"
Joe and Izzy looked at each other, questioning if it was somehow possible. Joe shrugged. "I think it's the best idea we've had so far."
Izzy nodded in agreement. "Then it's more important than ever to find them." He stood up from his spot on the floor and was walking towards his computer and gasped. "WAIT! Has Angemon left yet?!"
"No, Lady Ophanimon invited him to rest for tonight in the castle." Tentomon answered. "Why?"
"We can go with him and help him look for Amy and hopefully, we find Nova and Kari too!" Izzy said, clearly excited. "It's the best shot we have to locate them!"
Joe gulped as he looked at Gomamon. "You mean...us four?"
"No, just me."
Joe, Izzy, Gomamon and Tentomon looked up to see Kouji come inside the office. When did he get here?
Kouji took a seat next to Tentomon. "I couldn't sleep so I decided to walk around until I heard you guys talking. Not a good idea to be yelling with the door open by the way."
Izzy chuckled nervously and apologized.
"I overheard most of what you guys said and I agree with Gomamon. That could work. When we were battling Lucemon, Takuya, JP, Zoey, Tommy and I were caught in the middle of one of his deadly attacks. We were in a ball of Light and the only thing left to completely eliminate us was for Lucemon to throw a ball of Darkness at us. And it wasn't until Amy and Kouichi got in between the two to keep them separate."
Everyone stayed quiet as Kouji looked down at his bent knees. He paused as the horrible memory came back. "But Kouichi kicked Amy out of the way and it was him who ended up taking the hit." He looked up and nodded. "Amy would represent the ball of Light and Lucemon is obviously the darkness. Kari, Nova, Kouichi and I will definitely be able to separate them."
"So are you sure that you want to go with Angemon alone? You don't want to ask your brother to come with you?" Izzy asked and Kouji shook his head.
"No offense to my brother, but he's always been the emotional one and I'm afraid it could cause him to act out. Besides, it's better if it's just me. The less people go, the better."
The room stayed quiet as everyone thought about what he said. Izzy honestly couldn't think of a better plan. "Okay. I think it's better if you leave now. I can let the Celestials and Gennai know and Joe, you can tell Angemon. Kouji, I guess let your brother know."
Kouji nodded.
His heart pounded as Kouji tiptoed into Kouichi's room. Well, it was Amy's assigned bedroom, but ever since she was captured, Kouichi had found it comforting for him to sleep in there.
He was ready to have a full-blown argument about why Kouichi couldn't go with him but he was surprised to see that his twin was actually fast asleep.
'Oh thank god.'
He tiptoed towards the nightstand next to Kouichi and silently placed the note he had written on top. Kouji paused for a second to look down at his sleeping brother.
"I'll bring her back, Kouichi. I promise." he whispered. "I won't come back until I do." He gave him a genuine smile and then turned to quietly walk back out.
Kouji continued to walk through the castle until he finally reached the front. Stepping outside, he was met with the Celestial Digimon, Gennai, Izzy, Joe, Tentomon, Gomamon and Angemon.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Cherubimon asked.
"EXECUTE! SPIRIT EVOLUTION! Lobomon!" Lobomon bowed his head at Cherubimon. "I'm sure." He then faced Ophanimon. "Don't worry. I'll bring your daughter back."
"Good luck you too!" Tentomon called out.
Angemon walked up to Lobomon. "You ready?"
"Ready as I'll ever be."
