Chapter 1

London, England 1527

Princess Eleanor rode her horse along with Henry Percy and three of his men to reach for her brother, the king of England.

She refused to stop even for a moment until she recognized her home. She heaved her horse to stop on top of the hills.

Henry Percy stopped by her side and said, "Something wrong, your grace?"

"I must confess, Lord Percy. All of my years of captivity, words I have rehearsed repeatedly with my mirror to say what I have to say. It is now all gone instants. Does that make me dumb?" Tears were coming, but she blinked them away before they dropped.

"No, your grace. You are overwhelmed by emotions, and I would be speechless to know God had granted you a chance." Lord Percy said calmly.

"A chance?"

"A chance to set things right and redeem our small country to a new era." Lord Percy solemnly told the princess.

"You are right. I have kept England anxious about my absences, and I believed I should attend court now." Eleanor pulled her hood up and reigned her horse forward.

Horses of theirs walked through the town to reach their destination of seeing the king. Whispers about the king's court are heard in the streets.

"Have you heard about the king's new mistress?"

"That knight's daughter Anne Boleyn."

"Heard he is planning to divorce…."

"Yet both the church in Rome and her nephew refused…."

Eleanor sensed that she had missed many things in her home. She often tried to hear what others speak in her household of what news of her family. She was always careful, knowing that one slip she would get caught.

They saw the bridge where they could come to the castle and court.

'Oh Lord, give me the strength and will to fight for my country. Please, my heavenly father, save my brother's soul from the devil's grasp.'

Eleanor knows that this is one last chance.

"My lord," She softly called to him.

"My prince-" Eleanor shushed him. And she said, "Nowhere. Find us a back door to avoid everyone's including the queens' spies."

Lord Percy would have believed that she was paranoid. However, he did not disobey but who else, but Princess Eleanor to know Katherine's movement and spies better than anyone.

So, Lord Percy waved to his trusted page boy to lead both the princess and Henry Percy inside the court.

They managed to avoid the eyes of everyone in court, and ears had not been heard from their steps.

Percy's page boy walked the king's private room to announce the guards of Lord Percy's presence in the whispers.

Tap, Tap.

Lightly knocked as they leaned to hear from the answer of their king.

Quickly both the princess and Lord Percy enter the room. He gestured the princess to wait in the dark space as he came forward to greet the king.

Henry Percy kneeled to his king.

"My king," she heard Lord Percy say to her brother. Eleanor couldn't see his face because the red curtains hid her and anyone in front of her eyes.

"Lord Percy, what news?"

"It is worse as you had feared about your sister. Queen Katherine's loyal subjects overrun princess Eleanor's household, and they kept her a prisoner for years. We lost our able men I have brought, and only three had brought us back safely." He gave his report.

"Where's Ellie?" Her brother is eager to hear what has become of his sister. When he received the ring of their dear mother, he knew something was wrong. For the life of Henry, Eleanor never removed their mother's ring, and not even for a moment when she baths or sleeps without it.

So, for a moment, when that ring is presented to him.

He knew his sister needed his help, and he wanted to know why she said in that note.

'Being Katherine's Prisoner as you are a prisoner to her lies.'

Lord Percy did not say, but he walked back where Eleanor was hiding.

"Your brother wished to see you." Lord Percy whispered to her.

She came forward with a hood covering her head. Eleanor kneeled before her brother as she still looked down on the floor.

Henry shakily reached the hood and removed her beautiful blond that reminded him of their mother.

"Don't be afraid to look at me. Ellie dear."

Ellie, she had almost forgotten that silly little nickname.

Eleanor looked up to her brother and smirked, "You are still not the ugliest thing."

Percy gapped in shock at her mild disrespect, yet the king joyful laughed, and tears burst in his eyes.

He lifted his sister in his arms. He cares not if she is a little dirty and looks filthy.

They twirl around together as Eleanor briefly remembers how they would playfully dance in their halls when they were children.

He placed her feet to the ground. Henry wanted to look at his sister, and she looked much like their mother.

As he looked to his sister, she paused his hands and said,

"Brother, I came to help you."

King Henry said nothing.

"Queen Katherine betrayed you and England."

Henry questioned her, "What do you mean?"

[Dramatic music as the screen came close to her face]

"I know her secret. Brother, your marriage to her…is a sin."
