Chapter 26
Months with by quickly. The center was doing well with breaking down the large walls that surrounded it. The induvial buildings for each division were torn down and split apart. With the help of Grimmjow's company, they were able to get the work to move at a steady pace. The second phase of bringing the city together had started. It still made people a little uneasy as those who lived in Hueco Mundo started to appear more frequently.
There was a new post office right by the mall that was run by Rose. He also set out to make smaller mailrooms around the city, so people didn't have to make such a long trip to go to the main store. Along with the post office, Lexton's company started to take shape. With the bought-out land, his building was becoming the main centerpiece of Hueco Mundo. Changes were happening all throughout the city, and it was being noticed and greeted with positive feedback.
It was October 10th, the time was getting close to 8:30. At the Kuchiki manor, Byakuya was getting dressed up. He was wearing a white suit with white linings and matching shoes. He was fixing his cuffs, getting lost in his thoughts. Tonight, he was going on his first official date with Nia.
In the past month, the two had gotten close. After giving her a tour of the city, they would meet up and have a little breakfast or lunch. They spoke on deep topics sometimes like the harsh moments they would have when they missed their former lovers. They kept a low profile, and he was very good at keeping their outings down low. He enjoyed her company and her laugh and smile made him feel what he missed when he was with Hisana. He didn't want to risk that turning into some rumor and making her feel like she was just a replacement. He rubbed his chest. 'I hope this isn't moving too fast…'
There was a knock on the door. "Come in." He says grabbing his jacket. The door opened and Ichika rushed in. "Uncle!" She stopped and her eyes grew wide. "Wooooooow! You handsome!" She says pointing up. Renji walked in and chuckled. "She isn't lying. Are you excited about your date with this mystery woman you refuse to tell anyone about?" "Renji…why are you not by Rukia's side. She is due any day." "I know, but Ichika wanted to come to see you before you left." "Hug me!" Ichika says with her arms open wide. "She wanted to give you a good luck hug." Byakuya picks her up. She hugs him and gives him a kiss on the cheek with a good. "Thank you." Byakuya says putting her down. Ichika giggled. "Let's go muffin top. Don't you want to be with mommy when your brother comes?" "Yes!" She yelled and ran out. "Good luck tonight sir." Renji says closing the door. Byakuya let out a small sigh and grabbed his phone. He texted Nia to let her know she was on the way.
At Nia's house, she was in her room sitting in front of her mirror. She was wearing a gorgeous Rotita cold shoulder bib neck ombre mermaid dress. Her hair was curled slightly, and she wore no makeup. It broke her out badly. Her phones ding. Grabbing it she smiled at the message. "Okay, I guess this is it." She grabbed her black heels and walked downstairs to the living room where her 10-year-old daughter was sitting on the couch. She had bright red hair and eyes and was wearing a princess nightgown. "Kim honey?" Kim turned and her eyes widen. "Whoa. You look, hot mom!" Nia giggled. "Thank you." Kim jumped up. "So, you really like this guy? Can I meet him?" "Not yet honey." Kim pouted. "No fair." Nia rubbed her head. "Go on and get ready for bed okay. I'll be back home before 11." Kim sighs and ran upstairs. "Don't forget to check on your brother!" Nia yelled as she put on her heels. She grabbed her purse and jacket and sat on the couch to wait.
Pulling out her phone she called Danni who picked up right away. "Oh my god, he dumped you! I'm coming right over! I'll bring Yoruichi and we can have a girl's night out! Screw men!" Nia laughed. "What?! No! He isn't even over here yet." "Oh…then what the hell did you call me for?" Nia rubbed her hair behind her ear. "I-I was getting a little nervous. What if he does want to go out again after this." "Oh, Nia. We all know he has the hots for you. I mean he is taking you to the steak restaurant, you know how expensive that is now? I men for you regular people. I get to eat there for free ha-ha!" Nia chuckled. "Yeah, it's just…after Terrance…I feel like I'm betraying him a little." "I know sis, but I think this is good for you. You have been stuck for a while and it's time for you to explore once more. Have a good time, don't worry about the past, and enjoy his company. He might look like a stick in the mud, but he is a very caring man. A little hard to read sometimes but he wouldn't do anything to make you uncomfortable." "Okay sis. Thank you." "No problem. Call me with the juicy details okay!" She hangs up. Nia rubs her arms and takes a deep breath. "You can do this…don't freak out and embarrass yourself…"
About 20 minutes later, she heard the doorbell ring. She gulps and gets up. "Here we go." Walking to the door she opened it and held back a gasp looking at Byakuya. 'Oh my…he is quite handsome…even more than usual!' Her eyes meet his. His eyes were just as wide as hers as he looked at her. She blushed and turned her head. "H-Hi…" "Hello…" They stood there for a moment until he cleared his throat. "We should get going." "Oh right! Sorry…" He held out his hand and she took it. Walking out she closed the door behind her and locked it. Getting into the car, he drove off into the city.
They pulled up to the restaurant within 25 minutes and parked. "Wow. This place must be popular." Nia says looking at the long line. "Wait here." He says getting out of the car. Nia blinks in confusion as he put his coat on and closed the door. He walked around and opened her door and held his hand out. Nia giggled and took his hand. "Such a gentleman." She says putting on her coat. She wraps her arm around his and they walked to the front. There were two entrances. One for regular seating and one for VIP seating. They went to the VIP seating. There was a man standing at the door. "Do you have tickets?" Byakuya pulled out two and handed them to the man. "You may enter. Enjoy your meal."
They walked into the restaurant. Nia smiles smelling the good food. There was music playing and people were dancing on the new dance floor. 'So, fancy.' They walked to the podium where the waiter was waiting for them. "I have a table reserved for Kuchiki." "Of course, sir, we have everything ready for you." They followed the waiter to the back near the private area. People looked their way. Eyes widen spotting Byakuya as it was rare to even see him with a woman on his side. Nia could feel the eyes staring at her and became nervous. She tightens her grip on Byakuya's arm. He notices this and places his hand over hers. "Just focus on me. You can ignore those who stare." His words made her heart flutter to where the only thing she could do was nod.
They reached their table; it was in the back near a window away from prying eyes. The waiters took their coats and went to go hang them up. Byakuya pulled the seat out for Nia and pushed her in. He then took a seat in front of her. "I hope you don't mind but I order us a bottle of wine." "I love wine. So, I don't mind." Nia says smiling. "You can order anything you like tonight. I'll be footing the bill." "Oh? Are you sure?" She opened the menu, and her heart sank at the prices. "Oh my…everything is so expensive…I would feel bad ordering this without having to pay." "It's no issue. Please choose whatever you like. Money isn't an object to me. I want you to enjoy this night to its fullest." Nia smiles sweetly at him. "The fact that I get to spend this night with you makes it the best night ever." Byakuya held in a sharp breath as his heart started beating fast. He turned his head slightly, fearing that his face would cave in from her innocent flattery.
The waiter came over with a bottle of wine and pops it open. He poured them a glass then set the bottle on the table. "Are you ready to order?" Nia nods. "Um, for the appetizers can I get the smoked oyster spread, and then can I have the garlic butter grilled steak and shrimp?" "A very nice choice ma'am. Our seafood dishes are quite the delight even though we mostly sell Steak." Nia smiles. "And for you sir?" "I'll have the flank steak with shishito shish salsa Verde and beet carpaccio, and can you bring a bowl of rolls and butter?" The waiter nods. "Of course, sir, I will be right back with your rolls and oysters." He walked off. Nia grabbed her glass and takes a sip of the wine. "Mmmm, such a rich and sweet flavor. I can taste the grapes that were made with this." Byakuya sips his wine. "You seem to know a lot about wine." "Not really, but I know a very good winemaker and I think this is her second stand batch. Watching her work, I was able to learn a lot about wine." "I see so you can bake, and you know your wine. Any other hidden talents you have?" Nia giggled. "You are just going to have to discover them on your own." "I see. I look forward to the challenge."
As the night went on, Nia and Byakuya talked more about each other. "My siblings?" Nia asks dapping the corner of her mouth. "I'm the youngest of five. One brother three sisters. My oldest sister is above us all then my brother, then Danni, my next sister, and then me!" "I see, I only have Rukia as my sister. Her sister was my wife and I looked after her as a promise to her." "Oh. She must be lucky to have such a great brother." "I wasn't always great. Even though I promised to look after her I was…cold…to her. It took me a while to adjust and come to terms that she was my sister." "Was it because she looked like her sister?" "Maybe…I never really understood it myself. My family was already on the fence about me marrying Hisana who was a commoner, and I broke the family rules getting her to be my wife. I also broke the rules once more when I adopted Rukia." "Mmm…I've never been in that situation but I kind of understand the family rule thing. Danni's marriage was arranged. She never wanted it, but she wanted to do what was right for the family. I also had a arrange marriage, but I had already fallen in love with my husband at the time. I ran off to be with him. My father was very upset and my mother well…she was devastated that I ran off. She didn't care about the marriage she just wanted me to come home."
"Did you ever return home?" "Yes, after I had my first son. I was shunned by some of the family by my siblings helped me through it and my parents came around. They were happy that I made it home safely and were happier that I gave them such a cute grandchild that shared my father's features. So, I can say it was a happy ending." "Interesting. I've only met your father once. He was a very overpowering man." Nia laughs. "Yes, and once you meet him again you will see something even scarier." "Again…does that mean you foresee us getting much closer to where I will meet your father not as a friend but as something more?" He watched Nia's face turn bright red. He couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. "Oh my…I'm so sorry. The words came right out, and I didn't even think about it. I shouldn't assume things like that. After all, it's our first date and who knows what…" Byakuya reached out and grabbed her hand that was on the table. "Nia? I would enjoy the fact of us getting closer…" Nia held her breath. Her heart was pounding like crazy. Byakuya heard a slow jazz song playing. "Would you like to dance?" Nia nods. "Sure!"
Getting up, hand in hand, they walked to the dance floor and were joined by other couples. He placed a hand on her hip, and she placed one of his shoulders. Their hands intertwined with each other as they danced to the smooth groove of the song. Their eyes look deeply into each other, feeling a burning desire, a pull of attraction towards each other. Byakuya pulled her closer to him where they were only a few inches from each other. Nia gulps as her eyes go to his lips. They looked so soft, but she turned her head. 'No Nia, it's too fast. Surely, he will pull away. Let's just finish this dance and…" "Nia…" Nia looks up and was surprised as he pressed his lips against her. She tenses up for a moment before she relaxes and kissed him back.
At Rukia's, she was getting her overnight bag. She had just gone into labor and Renji was downstairs panicking as he got Ichika ready. Rukia sighs rubbing her belly. "It's time. I'm so excited." Her phone rings. She answered. "Hey, Rukia." "Ichigo? It's not a good time right now." "Ah…does that mean you gone into labor too?" "To?" "Yeah, I just got here with Orihime." "Oh wow! Well, we are going to be there in a bit as well as soon as Renji gets Ichika." "Alright." Ichigo says. He hangs up. Rukia smiles. Taking her bag, she walked downstairs just in time to see Ichika run around the corner with one shoe off and one on. "Mommy! Baby time!" "Yup, now get your shoe on so we can leave, okay?" Renji ran around the corner in a huff. "That girl has too much stamina…oh do you want to call your brother?" "What!? No way! He is on a date. He will be fine. I want him to enjoy himself for once." Renji sighs. "If you say so. I don't want to be the one who gets the cold glare from him because he missed the birth of his nephew." "Yeah, yeah. Let's go already. Orihime went into labor as well."
At Oichi's, her phone rings. Grimmjow answered it. "Hello?" "Grimmjow?" "Ichigo…what do you want?" "Why do you keep answering Oichi's phone?" "She's, my woman. I can do what I please with her shit. What do you want?" Ichigo groans. "Orihime and Rukia have gone into Labor." "She ain't coming." "Why? She told me to call her." Grimmjow turned around to see Oichi laying on the bed sleeping with Cyrus sleeping on her chest with his blue Dino blanket. Right next to her were the twins and Kendric also sleeping. "She wore herself out today with the kids. She is sleeping. I'm not waking her up for your baby or that jackass baby." Ichigo snitched his teeth. "Right…well we will send pictures." "Mhmm…" Grimmjow hangs up. Turning around to the bed he took out his phone. "Pictures…" He turned on his camera and snapped a picture of Oichi and the kids.
There was a soft knock at the door. Looking up he saw Starrk. "Got a moment to talk?" Grimmjow put his phone away and put Oichi's on silent before walking out the room. He and Starrk went to the kitchen and sat at the island table. "Are you leaving?" Grimmjow asked. "Yes. I have things to do, and I don't want you caught in the middle. I only wanted to see how you were doing and surprisingly your happy." Grimmjow lifted his eyebrow. "Surprisingly…" "Never mind. I don't want to disturb the peace you finally found. All I want to say is to not mess this up. Don't fall back into your old habits. You got something good going on and I hate to see you end up all alone like I am." Grimmjow crossed his arms. "You dying or something?" Starrk sighs. "Sometimes it's like I am talking to a brick wall when it comes to you." He gets up. "I have some unfinished business that may affect some things around here. At the end of the day, I may be going to prison, or I may be dead…who knows. I am just glad that you kids are fighting for your future." Grimmjow was confused but he knew Starrk was going into something deep. He leans on his elbow. "Are you in trouble? You don't have to do this by yourself." Starrk rubbed his head. "I know but I should have settled this a long time ago. It's bothersome and it's taking up my sleep time. I can't rest until this is done. No matter though. Take care and thank Oichi for taking good care of me." He walks out of the kitchen. Grimmjow heard the door open and shut. "What the hell was that all about…"
Orihime was sweating as she held on to Ichigo's hand. Uryu was in front. "Okay Orihime, just keep pushing. I can see the head." Orihime nods. She tightens her grip on Ichigo's hand. "I-Is Oichi coming?" Ichigo shook his head. "No, but Jess and Nel are almost here. Just focus on bringing our little girl into the world okay." Orihime smiles and starts pushing.
In the waiting room, Karin and Yuzu were sitting down. Yuzu was holding Kazui. "Where Mama?" He asked looking up at her. "She is having your little sister." Kazui frowned. "Okay…" "I thought you were excited about having a little sister?" Karin asked. Kazui pouted. "Baby bad. No like it." Karin and Yuzu looked at each other.
Jess soon walked in with Nova on her hip. Nova yawns and rubs sleep out of her eyes. "Hi, girls, Kazui." Jess says smiling. "Hey, Jess!" Yuzu says waving Kazui's hand, getting Nova's attention. "Hi!" She says smiling. "Hi." Kazui says. Jess chuckled and sat beside Yuzu. "She looks just like your clone. Just like how Kazui looks like the clone of Ichigo. You both got creepy genes." Karin says. Jess couldn't help but to laugh a bit. "My family genes are quite strong. My mother and I looked quite alike as well." "Are you planning on having another baby?" Yuzu asked. It made Jess blush. "One day. Maybe after the wedding." "I heard Oichi got an implant." Yuzu said. "Yeah, a month after Cyrus was born. She and Grimmjow decided to slow down a bit." Karin leans back in the chair. "It may be for the best. Sheesh. Izzy said they are like bunnies in heat and that Oichi is super fertile." Jess laughed. "Don't let Grimmjow know that. He might change his mind about the implant. I'm sure after the kids get to that independent stage, they will try for another."
Nel walked in Sophie and Grayson. She had a troubled look on her face. "Hey, Nel you, okay?" Jess asked. Nel sat beside her, putting Sophie's car seat down. Grayson ran over to the play area. "Down auntie." Kazui says. Yuzu put him down and he ran over to Grayson. "Ma!" Nova yells up at Jess. She pointed to the floor with a giggle. Jess put her down and watched her walk over to the boys. "Aw, they grow so fast." Yuzu says. Jess chuckled and then turned her attention to Nel. "What's going on?" Nel sighs. "It's Tesra." "No word on him yet?" "No, and Nnoitra doesn't care as usual. I thought he was just joking about cleaning his room out but a week ago he completes tossed Tesra's stuff in the trash and remade it into a video game room for Grayson." "Wow, he listened to you." "Yeah, that's great and all but I can help but to feel worried about that boy. I even tried to appeal to that blockheaded husband of mind. I told him 'Hey, if Tesra is gone, who is going to clean this house and watch the kids for free?' You want to know what he said!? He said he would pay to find a housecleaner! That cheapskate! Pay! For something!? I was in shock!"
Jess frowned. "Maybe Tesra just left. Wasn't he in love with Nnoitra? I hate to be mean but maybe seeing you being with Nnoitra was too much for him and he couldn't take it and left? Maybe he just had enough." Nel leans back in the chair. "Maybe…hopefully, he is okay, wherever he is."
Renji rushed in. "Jess! Can you watch Ichika?" "Renji? Uh! Sure." Renji pushed Ichika into the waiting room with her bag and ran off. "I guess Rukia is in labor too. Ichika honey. You wanna play with the kids? Gray is here." Her eyes sparkled. "Gray!" She grabbed her bag and ran to the play area. "Gray!" She tackled him to the floor. "OFF ME!" Grayson yelled. The girls laughed. "So cute." Nel says.
Back at the restaurant, Nia and Byakuya were back at the table enjoying another glass of wine. Nia was a bit flustered from the kiss they had shared on the dance floor. It got her heart pumping. Byakuya didn't seem affected, and it worried her a second.
"What do you do for work? If you don't mind me asking?" She asked, wanting to start a conversation. "Right now, I plan on helping with education departments for the new school." "New school? Oh, I heard Danni talk about that. That's amazing to dedicate yourself to helping the children around here." Nia says with a smile. "I want my niece to experience a proper education. The schools here aren't that well. I don't want our children growing up ignorant of the world. They should look forward to their future's does not hide and fear it." He sips on his wine. "What about you? Do you plan on working?" "I do. I wanted to reopen a bakery, but it seems like I must go through a lot of channels to do. Get the funds, find someone in charge of an area, pick out a place, and a lot of other paperwork." She pushed her hair behind her ear. "Plus, I have to think about my son and daughter back at home. We are still new to the area. I don't think anyone would willingly agree to let me start my own spot. Ya know." Byakuya looks at his glass of wine. "Your sugar-free treats. They worked very well with my niece. She didn't know there was no sugar. I gave the recipe to Rukia so that she could make them herself. I think your bakery can work around here. If you had the right connections." Nia blinks. "Oh? So, should I ask my sister?" "I doubt she would be a good source. I can lend a hand." "R-Really? Isn't that a little much to ask?" "No, I see you as a good eye for business. Plus, you sound like a hard worker. You have my support, but this deal isn't for free." "I see. I don't have much but if you are willing to wait a little more, I can have enough money to pay you for your help?" "I do not want money." "You don't? Then what is it?" He reached out and grabbed her hand lifting it up. "My payment is for you to go on another date with me." Nia blushed and smiled. "Of course, I will." "Tomorrow." Nia's eyes widen. "S-So soon?" "Yes, I do not have many days off. I would like to spend more time with you before I head back to work." "Okay." She squeezed his hand. "I'd love to go on a date tomorrow. May I ask what we are doing?" "Do you like horses?" "I see them as fine and gentle animals when handled correctly." Her eyes lit up a bit. "Do you have horses?" "I do. I would like to go horseback riding with you." Nia giggled. "How exciting. I've only done it a few times with my mother. I look forward to it." Byakuya nods.
At the hospital, Orihime was lying in bed asleep from giving birth. Ichigo was sitting beside her and a bassinet with their daughter Maki She had bright orange hair and brown eyes. She had more of Ichigo's facial features. There was a soft knock on the door. Karin pushed it open. Yuzu pops her head in, holding Kazui.
"Hey, Uryu said everything was okay. We got worried when you didn't even bring her out to the waiting room." "Sorry, Orihime held her until she passed out." His sisters walked up to the bassinet. "Aw, how cute. What did you name her?" "Maki. Orihime picked it." "Sounds almost like mom's name…" Yuzu said. "Orihime wanted to know her after mom, but I talked her out of it." The girls pouted at him. "Why? That would have been fine with us?" "Sure, but I don't need that old fart drooling all over my daughter because she's named after mom. He spoils Kazui enough." "True…I can't imagine how that would turn out good…Maki is a good call." Karin says. Yuzu stared at Maki. "You know…we have been saying that Kazui looks a lot like you Ichigo but…I take all of that back. Maki looks wayyyy more like you." Karin looks down at her. "Oh wow…she isn't lying. Now that I think about it Kazui does have Orihime's cheeks." Ichigo rolled his eyes. "Anyways, anyone else show up?" Yeah, Jess and Nel. They are visiting Rukia since Renji asked Jess to watch Ichika. They said they would stop by." Kazui stares at his sister. "Baby sleep?" "Yup. Doesn't she look pretty?" Yuzu asked holding him closer to Maki.
Kazui blinks and reached out and poked Maki in the cheeks. Maki's eyes opened suddenly. "Oh! She woke up." Kazui tit his head to the side as he and Maki started at each other. Maki smiled making sparkles appear in his eyes. "Looks like she likes you." Karin says with a chuckle.
In Rukia's room, Renji was holding his son, Reiki. He had black hair and red eyes. Jess, Nel, and the kids walked in with Ichika. "Daddy!" She rushed to him. Rukia was passed out. Renji smiles. "Hey, muffin top. Want to see your brother?" Ichika nods. Renji drops to a knee and bends Reiki down to see Ichika. "Hi!" She says waving. Reiki stares at her and turns away. "Ooo…" Nel says covering her mouth. Ichika frown. "Lookie at me!" Reiki yawns and closed his eyes quickly going to sleep. Jess held back a giggle. "Looks like he isn't interested in her yet." Ichika pouted and crossed her arm. "He mean! No want none!" She ran to Jess and hugged her leg. Nova tilts her head and hugged Jess's leg to.
Renji stood up and placed Reiki in his bassinet. "Don't worry, he is just a baby. He doesn't know you just yet okay." Ichika huffed out. "Where is Byakuya. I thought he would be here." Jess says looking around. "He is on a date." Jess and Nel gasps. "A date?! With who!?" They asked at the same time. Renji shrugs. "He won't tell anyone who the mystery lady is. All I know is that he likes her, I guess. Rukia didn't want to call him. She wanted to let him enjoy himself tonight." "Wow…I never thought he would actually go on a date. I wonder what kind of woman caught that man's eye." Jess says. "Maybe a high-class woman? If he has managed to keep this a secret surely, she must have money on her." Nel says tapping her chin. "Ooo…that would be cool but, I don't think that would be his type. With the high-class women around here?" Jess says shaking her head. Nel nods. "Your right, your right…okay how about a former high-class woman who fell off from her noble high horse and has worked her way into a normal life?" "Okay, why does she have to be a high-class woman?" Renji asked sitting down. "Hisana wasn't high class." "True…this is hard. I don't know many women who are down to earth like his wife." "You meet her before?" Jess asked. "Na, I heard about her a little. I was shocked that a man of such high integrity like Byakuya would marry her." Nel placed a hand on her hip. "I guess he found someone who made him feel love again. I can't wait to meet her one day. If the jerk lets us."
As the clock stuck at 10:58, Byakuya pulled up and get out. He walked around and opened the door for Nia. He took her hand and helped her out of the car. She smiled as he walked her to her doorstep. "I had a really good time tonight." "As did I." Nia looks down. "Um…a-about the dance at the restaurant?" "Yes, I did notice you were quite a bad dancer." Nia gasped and looked up with a red face. "I was n-…" She was cut off by a kiss. Her body relaxed as she moved deeper into the kiss. Byakuya wraps an arm around her pulling their bodies closer. He broke the kiss. "I shall see you tomorrow at 9 am?" Nia in a dazed nodded. Byakuya let her go and walked to his car. Nia sighs out softly and walked to her door. Her heart was beating out of control. She fumbled with the keys for a second before opening the door and closing it behind her. She shivers and lets out a sigh. 'Oh, my Goodness he is so hot…his lips are so soft…' She heard giggling from the kitchen. It snapped her out of her love spell. She walked to the kitchen to see Kim and her son Ty, who was 11. Standing at the window. "Hi, mom." Kim says covering her giggles. Nia blushed. "Were you to peaking!?" Ty smiled. He had light brown hair and yellow eyes with tan skin. "You look like you had fun mom. He looks like a nice man." Kim smiled brightly. "You two kissed! You like him a lot!" Nia's face got redder. "It is past both of your bedtimes! Upstairs now!" Ty and Kim giggled and ran up the stairs.
Nia sat down and sighs. "Good grief…" She digs in her purse and pulls out her phone. She dialed Danni's number and she picked up on the first ring. "Oh my God, he dumped you!" Nia frowned. "No Danni. Jeez, I am not that terrible with dates." "Oh, Sorry. I can't help it. You're my baby sister and I need to make sure your heart doesn't break you know. So, how did it go." "Amazing! We talked a lot and danced and Ki…uh…h-had some wine." Danni giggled. "You smooched on the first date. Nice." Nia bit her lip." You think it was too fast?" "Depends. Who led?" "He did…" "Oooh! Look at him go. Making the moves already. Did you go to his place?" "No, but speaking on that, do you think you can pick up the kids in the morning around 8 am?" "What for?" "He wants to take me on a date tomorrow morning." "Wow! He is moving fast. Whatever you did has this boy falling hard for you." Nia chuckled. "I don't know…" She twirls her hair. "He is really sweet Danni. I mean, I'm nervous. What if I don't live up to what he sees?" "Nia don't do this. I know how nervous you get. The first date went great, and he wants to take you out again. If he noticed anything he didn't like he either decided to overlook it or decided, he didn't care and he likes you. Go with the flow. Okay." "Okay…" "Good, now go get some rest, pack the kids some clothes, and have fun. I'll see you in the morning." She hangs up. Nia leans back in her chair and rubs her lips.
That next morning at 8:50 am, Danni had come over to get Kim and Ty and take them back to her place for a while. Nia had taken her a shower. Her hair was in a ponytail. She was wearing comfortable black pants and a cute light blue shirt with a jacket. Some converse and her bag. She was sitting on the porch waiting. She was way too excited to relax. "I don't even know if I am dressed right. It's been so long." She blushed remembering the kiss last night. She rubbed her cheeks. "Oh my…stop Nia. Don't think about that. It was just a kiss. You're a mother of four. You aren't a naive young girl here." She heard a car pull up. She looked at her phone and saw it was 5 minutes early. She got up and brushed her pants off. She walked down the stairs and the driver got out. "Who are you?" She asked backing away. "No need to fear ma'am. I'm just a driver. Master Kuchiki is at the manor getting things ready for your arrival." He walked to the back door and opened it. Nia rubs her arm but gets in the back of the car.
The driver got in the front and drove off. It took about 20 to 25 minutes to reach the grounds of the Kuchiki family. Nia's eyes widen. "Wow…t-this all belong to Byakuya?" "Yes. The Kuchiki family is one of the four great families in the city. They oversee in protecting the history of the city as well as every member of the family." "Oh wow…that is quite amazing." The driver pulled up to a pair of gates and it opened automatically. He driver there a small roundabout before bulling up to the manor. He packed in front of the stairs and got out. Walking around to the car he opened the door. Nia stepped out. 'Such a big manor…I was right about him having a lot of money. He doesn't seem like a spoiled brat though.' An older man walked up to her and bowed slightly. "You must be Madam Nia?" Nia smiled. "Yes. Hello." "Greetings. The master is waiting in the back. You may follow me and please do not touch anything." Nia nods and follows him. She frowned slightly. 'What am I? A teenager. Do I look like I touch people things without asking?'
She followed the butler down a long hallway. They passed a portrait that made Nia stop. Nia saw Byakuya and a beautiful young woman with short black hair and purple eyes. "Excuse me? I-Is this Lady Hisana?" The butler stopped and looked back at her. "It is…I am quite surprised you called her by her title. Most commoners are usually disrespectful and say her name right out. Very Impressive." Nia tightens her grip on her bad. "Well, I just figured that since this is a very important family I should address with the titles unless I am told differently by your master. Correct?" The butler clapped his hands. "Splendid. I am glad that you understand your place. It still takes me ages to retrain that Ruffin Lady Rukia married." Nia put on a forced smile. "I see…"
"Please follow me. We shouldn't keep the master waiting." Nia follows him with her head down slightly. 'This is reminding me of home…' The butler led Nia to the back of the manor and passed the large pool, tennis court, cars, and other expensive things. "Very impressive." Nia says. "Yes, our master is a collector of all many things." The butler says taking her to the ranch. "Please do not try to embarrass him. I understand that you commoners aren't used to this type of activity. As to why our master has allowed you to come here, I can almost see why…but a commoner is still a commoner." He says with a cocky chuckle. Nia kept her fake smile on her face. "Of course…" They went to the stables where Byakuya was. "Sir? Your…date…is here." Byakuya narrowed his eyes at the butler who jumped slightly. "My apologizes, sir." He walked by Nia with a sigh. "How I wish he would stop bringing these nobodies to the manor…" Nia looked down until Byakuya walked over to her. "Nia." She looked up with a sad look on her face. "I um…don't think I am much to welcome here." Byakuya grabbed her hand. "Do not worry about what they say. This is my manor, my land. You are my guest, not theirs. The only one you should care about right now is me okay?" He rubbed her cheek. Nia smiled. "Okay." "Good."
He led her over to two beautiful horses. One had a shiny black coat and a pure white one. "Wow! Do they have names?" "No, not really." "What? You must name your horses. How do you expect to bond with them?" She walked up to the white house and smiled. "Hi, girl. You look like you are taken care of." She reached up slowly. The horse kicked one of her hoofs up. "Nia careful." Nia giggled. "You are quite energetic. My name is Nia. Why don't we be friends huh?" The horse looked at Nia and calmed down. She reached up and touched the horse gently. "So soft. Now, what can we name a beauty like you…how about…Yumi? Yumi sounds really cute!"
Yumi let off a huff and nudged her nose on Nia making her giggle. "I'm glad you like it!" Byakuya watched in awe. The white horse was new, and it wasn't used to working with the caretakers. She made a bit of a fuss just to get her mane brushed. Nia turned back to him and gave him a bright smile. "So, when are we going riding?" Byakuya sucked in his breath. Unable to control his body he walked up to Nia, grabbed her, and pulled her into a deep kiss. Nia was caught off guard but quickly melted into the kiss. He backed her up on the door of the stable. She felt his tongue rub against her lips, and she readily parted her lips for him. Their tongues intertwine. Nia let out a soft moan as Byakuya's body violated her space. Their heated make-out session happened for only a few seconds, but it sent more emotion through both of them. Byakuya gained control of himself and pulled back with a slightly red face. Nia pants with a flustered face. They stayed closed for a moment until Byakuya moved back. "My apologizes…I…" "No. There is no need to apologize." Nia says rubbing her cheeks. "I very much like your kisses. They are so…um…refreshing?" Byakuya blinked twice before he let out a slight chuckle. It made her heart do flips. He went back to his normal flat expression. "Why don't we take a ride? I have something prepared for us." Nia smiles. "Okay."
At Ikkaku's house, Emma was sitting in her room with Bella. "No fair…you got a new mom." Emma says pouting. Bella giggles. "You got a nice mom." Emma groans as she color. "She doesn't like me playing with daddy…he a good fighter. I wanna fight." Bella frowned. "Why? Fighting is bad. Daddy said so." "I gotta protect you from bullies Bella!" Bella blinks at her. "Bullies?" "Yea! You, my friend! I fight to make sure you safe. That's all!" She crossed her arms. "No fair I can't fight." Bella laughs. "Your funny Emma. Fighting is bad okay. We tell your dad about bullies then he beat them up!" Emma gasps, never having that idea before. She slammed her hands on the table. "Yes! Daddy will beat them up!" She stands proudly. "My daddy is stronger than everyone!" Bella gasps. "No! My dad is strong!" "Nu-uh! Daddy is strong!" Emma yelled. "No! My dad is strong!" Bella yelled back. The girls frowned at each other and sat down. They turned their heads, not looking at each other for a few seconds.
Bella suddenly gasps making Emma jump. "Uncle Grim! He's strong!" Emma's eyes widen and she smiled. "Yeah! He's strong!" The girls laughed and giggled together.
Outside the door, Ikkaku and Yumichika were listening in on the conversation. Ikkaku was shaking his fist. "Dammit. How could my own daughter do this to me…I should be the only strong male figure in her life." He whispered. Yumichika was holding back his own laugher. "That was honestly the cutest thing I have ever seen other than myself in a mirror." The two men walk to the living room and sat down. "So, with all these babies popping out you plan on having another one?" Ikkaku raised his eyebrow. "No way, Emma is enough for me." "Yeah, but what happens when she gets into those young teen years and starts having boyfriends and so on." "Easy I'll snap any boy in half that thinks he is good enough for my daughter. If one is lucky enough to survive that I'll break him in half even harder." Yumichika chuckled and then sigh. "I almost envy you." "Eh?" "Having a marriage and kid in secret. You put yourself together as a little family. I'm very impressed you know." Ikkaku rolled his eyes. "Oh please. Just find you a girl. Knock her up and pop out a baby of your own. Marry the chick then divorce her after the kid gets into school." Yumichika laughed. "Me? Do all of that? No, no, no. I think it would be evil if I bless this world with another beautiful face such as I." He laughed happily. Ikkaku sighs. "If you keep thinking like that, you're going to regret it. Look, I'm not telling you to go out and look for some random woman to sleep."
Ikkaku leans back on the couch. "Listen, this isn't the life I wanted, you know that. Hell, I have no clue how I was talked into the wedding and her getting pregnant was…well…that was that. At first, I just took it as a duty. It's my fault she got pregnant, so it was my responsibility to make sure they were cared for you know." Yumichika stayed silent listening to his friend. Every now and then he felt Ikkaku just needed to talk about how he felt about this situation. Other them him he didn't talk all sentimental with everyone. Ikkaku looked up at the ceiling. "I had plenty of money. After Emma was born, I was just going to ask for divorce or hope she saw who I truly was and ask me for the divorce. I would leave them enough money to get by and then I'll be free and able to do what I want. Working under Zaraki." He raised his hand to his face. "I was going to go through the plan after Emma was born but…I don't know…after seeing her for the first time and that cute smile. I just couldn't do it." He put his hand on his face. "I couldn't leave my daughter. Even if I didn't like the life, I put myself in. So, instead of thinking about the decisions, I could have done I looked forward to making sure Emma didn't make the same mistakes I did. I want her to be happy and cheerful and think that I am the most powerful guy on the planet." He sat up and looked at Yumichika. "I'm somewhat at peace with myself these days but what about you? You really plan to just hop around and admire yourself for the rest of the days. Beauty fades." Yumichika chuckled. "It's nice to see that you care so much about my beauty fading." He leans back in the chair and crossed his legs. "Well, Ikkaku, I do agree with you on some facts. I don't think I like where I am at either. I feel like I am stuck, and I was being honest. Seeing you and little Emma, I do turn a beautiful green of envy but, I don't think anyone here really matches my taste…" Ikkaku sighs. "I see…does this mean you plan on leaving?" Yumichika laughed. "No of course not. If I leave you alone, I am afraid you will lose that sense you just told me about. As Emma's favorite uncle I need to make sure you keep that promise. Hopefully one day I'll find someone but until then you and Emma will have all of my desirable attention." He chuckled.
Nel was home today. She was washing dishes while Sophie was sleeping. Grayson was in his gaming room that Nnoitra made him. She sighs as she watched a show on her phone. The front door opened, and she heard footsteps enter the kitchen. She glanced around to see Nnoitra. "Your home early." Nnoitra sits down in silence. "Want something to eat?" "You wanna talk about why you have been so cold to me lately?" Nel stopped washing dishes. "I just wanted you to act a little surprise that Tesra left that is all." Nnoitra groans. "Why should I give a damn about that guy. I didn't tell him to crawl back here and act the way he did." Nel dried her hands and tossed the rag on the sink. Turning around she crossed her arms. "It was your fault. You made him fall in love with you like you did all the women out there! You didn't have to sleep with him and tell him how much he meant to you and how he was the only one and then turn around and find some other woman to bang!" Nnoitra sighs. "I didn't think the guy would fall so deep. It was just one night, and I made sure he knew that, but I can't help it if he fell for that crap. Hell, he has watched me do and say that to other women!" "And you didn't find that a little creepy?" "Yeah, I did but I didn't care." Nel groans. "Can you just go look for him or something? Make sure he is okay?"
Nnoitra frowned and stood up. He slammed his hand on the table making her jump. "You don't understand!" He snaps. Nel frowned. "Understand what." "I put cameras in here and I saw the shit he did while we were gone. He would go through our clothes! Wear your stuff and get off on mine! We let him touch our daughter Nel! Fuck! For all, I care he can go rot in whatever pit he fell in." Nel was shocked. "What? No way he did that! Wait…there are cameras in here? Where!?" "Don't worry about that." He walked up to her and grabbed her hand. "If you don't believe me fine. I will show you." He dragged her through the living room and past Grayson's game room. He led her to the back of the house and opened the last door near the back door. He opened it and Nel gasp to see that he had made a mini surveillance room. They could see every part of the house. Sophie was still napping, and Grayson was laying on his mat playing games. Nnoitra sat Nel down in the chair and went to the cabinets. Fumbling around her pulled out a disk and put it in a computer that was connected to the main screen. Some footage popped up. "Look at this." He says hitting play. Nel watched. At first, she saw nothing wrong. She saw Tesra clean the house and make sure all of Grayson's toys were put away. Sophie was napping away in her room when he went to check on her.
Things then started to turn weird after he enter hers and Nnoitra's room. He started going through her clothes. He put on a new shirt that Oichi had personally made for her and a pair of her shorts. He then went to Nnoitra's side and grabbed his shirt. Crawling on the bed he started to sniff Nnoitra's shirt while rubbing himself through Nel's shirt.
Nel felt disgusted as she watched. She finally turned her head away went he really got into it. Luckily Nnoitra left the sound out. "He was saying some foul things…I'd rather not let you hear it." Nel frowned. "That is foul and that is my favorite shirt." "So, do you see why I don't give a shit about him? I don't care if he ran away or just finally realize that he doesn't mean shit to me. I am not going to allow that freak near Sophie. You got that?" Nel sighs and nods. "Yes. I'm sorry for snapping. You were trying to keep Sophie safe right?" "Yeah. You and Grayson too. He did try to choke you out before." "Pff…like he would try that again." She got up and huffed out. "I want to let you know that I do not approve of these cameras. I'll pretend like I don't know about it." She pushed him aside and walked past him and out of the room. "I need to go burn those clothes." She says mumbling to herself.
Back at Byakuya's ranch, he and Nia were enjoying a wonderful stroll on the horses. The weather was quite warm. Not too hot nor too cold. Just perfect. Every now and then the wind would blow a little and make Nia's hair float through the air. Byakuya enjoyed that sight. He wished she would let her hair down, but he didn't say that out loud. Nia sighs softly. 'Such a wonderful day. I almost wish it could last forever.' The horses followed a path they cut into the forest. The large trees covered a bit of the sky. "Where are we going?" Nia asked. "You will see in a moment. Byakuya says.
They reached the end of the path where the sun came back to shine down on them. Nia hums at the bright light and then gaps to see a beautiful, cute field with wildflower paths. Walking down the middle one she saw a white gazebo in the middle of a lake. There was a basket and a bottle of wine sitting on the table. She giggled. "This spot is so beautiful! Did you do plant the flowers yourself?" "No, I had gardeners to do it." Nia hums. "I think you would be good at gardening. You should try it yourself. Better yet, you could always come over and help me plant some flowers in my front yard." "I see…I think I may take you up on that."
They came to the spot and got off the horses. The horses ended up walking over their own spot and started to graze in the grass. Nia and Byakuya walked over to the lake and took the stone path that led to the gazebo. Nia slipped in and moved to the middle where the basket was. "This is so cute!" Byakuya sat beside her and opened the basket. He pulled out a very fancy lunch for them both. He opened the bottle of wine and poured her glass. Picking in the basket he handed her a fork for her lunch. "It may look fancy, but it is just pasta salad. Made with the finest ingredients." Nia took a bite. She made a queasy face but ate it anyway. "Oh, it has quite a…um…special flavor." "Does it not work well to your liking. I was sure everything was fresh." He took a bite out of his. "It tastes the same to me."
Nia hums and looked at his plate. "Your noodles like a lot shinier than mine and it looks a bit fresher. Byakuya looked at her plate. "May I try some of yours?" "Sure." She took her fork and scooped some up for him. "Here you go." Byakuya looked at the food but opened his mouth. He could already smell something was wrong with it. He ate her fork-filled pasta. The moment it touched his tongue he wanted to spit it out. The pasta tasted raw, it was very salty, and whatever sauce that was added was out of date. Cleary one of his kitchen maids did this on purpose. Nia looks down. "It's bad. I'm sorry I made you eat that." "No, it is fine. I owe you an apology. You took a bite out of it and even though it was made wrong on purpose and still tried to give it a compliment."
Nia looked down at her plate. "I see…maybe we should just skip lunch?" He pushed her plate out of the way and slide his to her. "No, we can share." He picked up his fork and held it out to her. Nia looks at it and smiles. She opened her mouth, and he fed her a fork filled with pasta. She giggles as she swallowed. "Yes, yours is definitely prepared right. This is quite amazing. I'd love to cook for you sometime. Though I don't have anything to fancy like this." Byakuya waited and looked down at her fork. "Oh? Is that what we are doing?" She scoops up her fork and fed him a spoon full. "I am curious. What meal would you make me?" He asked scooping up some pasta. Nia took her bite and sips on the glass of wine. "How about skillet chicken with sun-dried tomato cream sauce? Oh, my kids love garlic butter chicken with lemon asparagus. Or…" She looks at the pasta. "Maybe just a little old fashion cooking. Nothing too special but special at the same time." "Special…but not too special…? I am intrigued. Why don't we schedule a nightly dinner at your place?" Nia smiled. "Three dates in two days? Color me impressed Mr. Kuchiki." They finished the plate and sipped on the wine for a while.
Nia slides close to him and lays her head on his shoulder. He didn't seem to mind so she relaxed herself a bit. "Byakuya? May I ask…a personal question?" "What is it?" "…D-Did your wife…Ms. Hisana…was she well-liked by anyone here other than you?" She felt him tense up and looked up at him. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to. I was just a little curious. Your…butler he is um…very vocal on the stances of commoners. As he told me not to touch anything in your home and how surprised he was when I used Hisana's title…His tone made me very uncomfortable." She rubbed her arm. "I know we haven't known each other for long but, I like you Byakuya and I would like to keep seeing you."
"I see…so would the deal-breaker be my servants and those who do not approve of you seeing me?" Nia smiles and grabs his hand. "No, no…nothing like that. Remember I ran away from my own home to be with the man I had loved. Do you think I will let them ruin my feelings for you? I was just curious about how Hisana handled it." "…I don't know." He said. "Hisana never came to me if they were bothering her. I caught them a few times being disrespectful towards her, and I punished them for it. They treated Rukia the same for one day, but I quickly brought that to an end. I fired all of those who severed under me and Hisana at the time and hired new ones so they all treated Rukia as they would treat me." Byakuya grabbed Nia's hand. "I apologize if they made you uncomfortable but, thank you for coming to me and telling me that. As the city change maybe it is time for the nobles to change with it as well." He brought her hand up and kissed the back of it. "I like you as well Nia. Despite us meeting for a few months. The day I saw you at the candy shop. That smile of yours just pulled me in. It reminded me of the feelings I locked away when I lost Hisana. I don't want to lose that again, not while it is right in front of me." He let her hand go and wrapped his arm around her waist. "If you think we are moving too fast please tell me now, but would you like to make us official?" Nia giggled and snuggled up to him. "Yes! I don't mind. More dates, more time to spend together, I find it quite exciting to learn more about you Byakuya." He gave a soft smile and kissed her forehead. "It will be quite the ride, Nia."
She lifted her head. "Byakuya?" He looked down and was surprised by a kiss from her. His eyes widen as she laughed. "That was for last night when you gave me that surprise kiss." "Ah…if that is how you play." "Hm?" Byakuya grabbed her cheeks. "Be careful of what you started." "W-What do you…" Byakuya kissed her, deeply. Her eyes widen as he forced his tongue into her mouth. Nia shook as she quickly melted. 'Why does he kiss so good!' She felt herself lifted, making her break the kiss. "Byakuya?" He sat her on his lap and reconnected their lips. She smiled into the kiss as she wraps her arms around his neck. His hands ran down her back and down to her thigh. He felt her shake as he traced his fingers around her legs. He broke the kiss for a moment. A deep feeling of lust and want started to awaken within him. He kissed her neck, holding her close. Taking in her smell of fresh strawberries. His heart skipped a beat when Nia ran her fingers through his hair. "Your hair is so soft." She twirls a strand and giggles. Byakuya pushed his face into her neck, relaxing himself.
Uryu was in his doctor's office speaking to one of his patients when Nemu walked in. Now that she no longer worked in the center, she was working as Uryu's nurse and assistant. "Now, take these two times a week. One in the morning and one before you go to bed. You should be feeling better after a little while." "Thank you." The young man says. "What if I start feeling terrible pains in my stomach again." "Then just come back and we will see what we can do alright?" The man nods and leaves. Nemu walks over with a clipboard. "Sir, you have another appointment in 30 minutes. "Ms. Shelby has been complaining about chest pains." "She always complains about chest pains." Uryu sighs and rubs the space between his eyes. "Are you feeling okay doctor Ishida?" "Yes, I am just a little tired. It's just I have to deal with the hospitals and the expansion. Ms. Unohana is reviewing our medical board and wants us to go other than who we hired and branch out to her people and so on. She also wants to change a few things and my father is on board with it so much that he is going full forward with this. Handling the paperwork and the money and I have the 'wonderful' time of taking only not only my patients and his as well. It's just a lot and then after this, I must go home to Tatsuki who will just nag me about certain things. You think I could just come home to one of her nice home cook meals but all I hear is that I don't spend time with her or Noah. Noah doesn't look as affected without me being there. He is always with Ichigo's son." He leans back in his chair. "Sometimes I would just like to come home to quietness." Nemu put the clipboard down and walked behind him. She places her hands on her shoulders and started to massage them. "Nemu what are you…oh…" He starts to relax. "When my father got stressed, he made me give him massages like this. I was terrible at them but after years of practice I got better." Uryu hums out. "I don't think Tatsuki has ever done this before…Thank you." Nemu smiles softly. "Of course…if there is anything else I can do to make you more comfortable please let me know."
Kokuto was walking around the city with his brand-new scarf Oichi had made him. He was honestly surprised at how better it was than his old one. He learned a little bit about Oichi, and he found her to be quite the naive woman despite her age. He chuckled as he stopped. "Hmm…maybe I'll stop by today. I think she should be hubby-free today. Perfect to get a little close."
Walking for about 8 more minutes he spotted her shop and walked right on in. It was a little busy but not so much for panic. Mizuho was standing in the middle of the floor going through her tablet, checking off appointments. Kokuto walked up to her. "Mizuho, hey there." She looked up and rolled her eyes. "What do you want? Can't you see I'm busy?" "Mhm, Oichi here?" She points to the section of the dresses. He smiles and walks over. Mizuho eyes him and pulled out her phone.
Oichi was with a young couple. Her belly had shrunk down from childbirth, and she was reaching her normal weight once more. "So, I think a pink, rosy color would fit your theme. If you can give me measurements, I can make up a quick rough draft and we can go from there." "How much would that cost." The man asked. "For a rough draft? That is free of charge. It's what comes after is when we discuss the price. The fabric, the labor, accessories, and so on." The man frowned. "I mean cool but why do we have to get it handmade? We can just buy something out of the store, right?" "Of course, you can sir, that is a decision that you and your fiancé should make." The woman smiled. "I want a handmade one honey! I have seen her work and she does a great job with reasonable prices. Not like the suit shop where you wanted to spend 10 grand on that over-the-top suit and guy stuff." The man rolled his eyes. "Whatever…" "Can we set a date, Ms. Yamamoto?" "Sure thing." She opened her tablet. "Um…how does next week's Sunday sounds? I have no bookings. We can try different styles to work out the fabric and so on. Hopefully, by then, you both can bring me a budget. It will make my job a lot easier." "Yes! Thank you." "No, thank you. Now you can go see the young ladies in the back. They will take your measurements so I can get prepared for you okay." The woman nods and drags the man behind her. Oichi sighs. "I need a nap." "Looks like you're doing fine though." She turned and smiled seeing Kokuto. "Hey, how is the scarf?" "It's warm. I thank you for the gift." Oichi chuckled. "You thanked me a bunch already." "As did you for helping with your baby. How is he?" "He is a quiet baby surprisingly. He cries when he is hungry and that's about it." "I see…so are you free for a quick bite to eat?" "I am not actually. I have a lot of things to do, and you know that."
Kokuto shrugs. "Hey, I try. So, what is it going to take for you to come out to eat with me one day?" "Ha ha-ha. If you would have come a few years ago I wouldn't have hesitated. I am slowly learning my mistakes of getting much too close to attractive males." Kokuto placed a hand on his hip. "Ah, so you do see me as attractive. I was afraid I was giving off a friendly vibe." "Oh no, you weren't so I'll say this now. I am a taken woman with children and a very, very, an overprotective fiancé who is actually matching over here right now." Kokuto blinks and turns around to see Grimmjow heading right towards them. "Looks like someone snitched on." Kokuto says looking at Mizuho who smirked while waving with her fingers.
"Hi, honey!" Oichi says smiling sweetly. "Hey, babe. What's going on…Kokuto you got your scarf why are you still coming here." Kokuto waved his hand around. "Well, Grimmjow…this is a clothing shop. I figured I get a new style of clothes you know." "Yeah right, don't you work in the morgue?" "Yes, but that doesn't mean my work style has to fit my lifestyle. Oichi's store is popular and has really good reviews. Since we are luckily gaining to be good friends these days, I figured I'd sweet-talked her into giving me a good discount." Grimmjow put his hand in his pocket. "Don't play with me. I have enough guys eyeing my woman while she is at work. I can handle her boss but don't make me have to handle you too." Kotoko put his hands up in defense. "Whoa, pal. I get it. She is off-limits if it makes you feel any better, I'm already in a relationship and he is already a pain in my ass." "He?" Oichi and Grimmjow says together. "Yes, he. Not illegal to have a man as a partner." Oichi pouted. "Yet you tried to flirt. Shame." Kokuto laughed. "You caught me there but, on a serious note, I wouldn't have done anything. Not while I am with someone. I'm many things but a cheater isn't on my list." Grimmjow put his arm around Oichi. "Is that a fact…" He looked him up and down. "Didn't take you to be the type to be with a man." "Well, it is what it is. So, am I in the clear?" "Nope, don't like the way you tried to get that discount." Kokuto sighs and rubs his head. "Okay, how about you both come over for dinner. Not tonight but whenever you're free of course." "Ooo sounds like fun. We will call with a time and date?" "Sure thing, can I lock in your number? Both of yours, of course?" "Mmm…nice save." Grimmjow says with a smirk. Oichi giggled pulling out her phone.
At Byakuya's, he and Nia were back into an intimate and heated make-out session. Nia moans softly pressing her body close to him. She wanted to get past those layers of clothing but a thought in the back of her head stopped her from going further. Byakuya was feeling the same way. In some sense, he wanted nothing more than to claim Nia now, but he feared taking that leap for now. They broke the kiss. Nia pants with her flustered face and heated expression. Byakuya breaths out softly with a red face, looking at her. Despite what he was thinking her expression clearly said she wanted more. "Nia…" He reached up and cups her cheek. "Nia do you…" There was a sound of throat-clearing that made Nia snap out of her daze. They turned to see the butler standing at the end of the stone path with a horse on his own. He had a blank gaze but was mostly looking at Nia. Giving her a disapproved look. Nia turned her head getting uncomfortable.
Byakuya narrows his eyes. "Why are you here?" "Sir, my apologizes for disturbing you on your…date…but your grandfather called, and he is on the way here. He wishes to speak to you with some important matters." "I see…then go prepare his things. I will be in shorty." "Of course, sir, should I call for the driver to take your friend home?" Nia frowned. Byakuya stands Nia up and then stands up himself. He takes her hand. "She is more than just my friend Jeffery, and you will treat her with respect, or you can find yourself another job." Jeffery backs up and puts his head down. "I am sorry sir, I was unaware of your relationship but, even at the cost of my job I must say this. If you get yourself into another relationship with a commoner, the entire household will be in an uproar again. Even when Lady Hisana was named your wife it still did not sit well with…" "You may stop," Byakuya says cutting him off.
"Once you return to the manor you can collect your things and get out. You no longer work here and that goes for anyone else who disrespects Nia. Commoner, noble, foreign, I don't care and if my family has anything to say about what I do in my private life then I have no problem dismissing them either. I am still the head of the Kuchiki family and with that title, I led this family in the direction I choose for it to be. There will be no more talk about who I decide to share my time with." "Sir I…" "If you are not off the premises by the time, I return then I will have the security you toss you out." His arm wraps around Nia. "Now leave us. Now." Jeffery frowns and boys. "Yes…sir…it has been a pleasure serving this family up till now." He turned off and walked away.
Nia sighs sadly. "I'm sorry." "Don't be." He turns to her. "You are by my side now. I refuse to let anyone of them treat you rudely." He cups her face and pulls her head up gently. "I promise that to you, and you will learn quickly that I do not break promises." Nia smiled and placed her hand over his. "Plus, if your sister learned that my staff was rude to you, she may just destroy my manor altogether." Nia busted out laughing. "That is true. My sister had quite the violent streak." A smile appeared on Byakuya's face. He liked it much better when she was smiling and laughing.
The weeks went by, and it was Oct 27th, Noah's 2nd birthday. Noah was sitting in his playroom playing with his toys. Tatsuki was in the kitchen working on the food. It had started raining so she wasn't sure if everyone was still coming. That was until she saw cars pulling up. She smiled and cleaned her hands. "Noah! Everyone is coming in!" "Yay!" She heard him scream. She chuckled and grabbed her phone. She dialed Uryu's number. She waited and waited but he never picked up. She frowned. He had told her that he only had 3 appointments today and he had given his shift to other doctors to spend time with Noah on his birthday today. She called again and was sent straight to voicemail. She called once more and listen to the ring until he finally picked up. "Hello?" "Uryu what the hell? Did you screen my call?" "N-No I was speaking to a patient. You know it has gotten busy here." "You were supposed to let the others take your shift. Did you ever stop to get the cake? Or get a gift?" "No…but I won't be late, but I will make it on time. I promise." "You better." Tatsuki said hanging the phone up.
The doorbell rings. "Door!" Noah says running out of the room. He was jumping up and down. Tatsuki smiled as she opened the door. Orihime and Kazui walked in. They had gifts. "Hi, Tatsuki! Happy birthday Noah!" Noah giggled. "Hi, Auntie!" Orihime took off her jacket and Kazui's jacket." "Ichigo didn't come?" "He is helping bring the other gifts in. We just dropped Maki off at his dad's." Kazui ran up to Noah. "Toys!" They ran to his playroom. Orihime and Tatsuki walked to the kitchen. "Where is Uryu?" "Work…" Tatsuki says with a sigh. "I'm sure he will be home soon." "Mhmm…Orihime can you do me a favor?" "Sure thing?
The door was pushed open by Ichigo. "Dammit! How many gifts did you have to buy!" "I'll buy as many as I want!" Oichi yelled at him. "Don't you dare drop any of those gifts either!" Tatsuki pops her head out for a moment to see Ichigo holding a lot of gift bags. Oichi was holding the twins and Kendric was taking his coat off. Jess walked in laughing with Nova in her arms. Ulquiorra was behind her with more gifts. They piled in with Nel coming in from behind with Grayson and then Chad with Mila, Bella, Eli, and Emma who was having a sleepover with them. Ichigo grumbled as he put all the gifts in the corner. Grayson and the other kids ran to the toy room where Noah was.
Oichi sat on the couch and took off the twin's coats. "Tatsuki! Are you in the kitchen?" She called out. "Yeah, I'll be out in a second." She called back. Jess sat down and removed Nova's coat. Oichi smiled at her. "Soon little Nova will be hitting one." Nova smiled and giggled. Ulquiorra placed the gifts next to Ichigo. He groans rubbing his back. "Seriously Oichi did you buy out the whole toy store?" "What? No, every baby here gets the same amount of price range. The only time I am going to buy out a store is when a baby turns one." She pokes Nova's tummy. "You got your own daughters you know. Why don't you spoil them?" Ichigo says crossing his arms. "I've tried but between my mother, my father, overprotective brother, and their overprotective father, I have admitted that I am outclassed." The girls walked around the table. Naomi went to Ulquiorra. "Up!" She yelled. Ulquiorra picked her up. Alisha ran to Ichigo and hugged his leg. "Hi..." She says softly. "Hey, Alisha. Looks like you are finally getting used to me huh?" He sits on the floor and places her on his lap.
Oichi smiled until she felt Nova tugging her leg. She points to her lap. "Use your words honey." Jess says. "Don't do that Jess. She's just a baby." Jess shakes her head. "You and I both know she can say a few words." "Blah, blah, blah." Oichi says picking up Nova. She snuggled her making her laugh. "Your mommy wants to you always talk but auntie Oichi will always know what her darling niece wants with or without words."
Mila sat down. "So, this is what you guys do? Throw parties and snuggle each other kids?" "Pretty much." Nel says. "Kind of boring." "Then maybe you should leave." Nel replies. Oichi frowned. "Nel…" "What? She watches our kids every day. Just because her and Chad are together doesn't mean she can act brand new." "Excuse me?" Mila says sitting up. "Who is acting brand new here?" "Come on Mila…Chad is our friend and now that you are dating plus, you know our kids well, you don't have to act like you don't want to be here." Nel says sighing. Mila opened her mouth, but Nel stopped her. "Don't use the excuse that you are here only because Chad asked you to be. Bella was very open about how much you were excited to be here with us." Nel says with a chuckle. Mila blushed and turned her head while crossing her arms. "Whatever." Jess and Oichi smiled.
"Speaking of babies? Where is Cy?" Jess asked. "Oh, I didn't want him to catch a cold or anything, so Grimmjow is keeping him home." Oichi says and tilts her head at Nel. "Should we presume that Nnoitra is doing the same?" Nel sighs. "Kind of…but I am worried. Tesra usually is the one to watch her sometimes but…now that he is thankfully gone, I don't know how Nnoitra is going to handle it." "Thankfully?" Ichigo asked. Oichi hums. "You want me to text Grim and ask him to go over there for a while? Just to make sure they are okay." Nel laughs a bit. "Yes, if you don't mind. At least if you do it, I won't have to hear his mouth later." "Ditto." Oichi says pulling out her phone to text Grimmjow.
Ichigo was tossing Alisha up and down making her scream out in joy. "Did something happen? I thought you were worried about Tesra." Nel frowned. "I did but I learned that Nnoitra had been keeping cameras in the house and he had been watching Tesra movements. Let's just say for now that I didn't like what I saw." "I guess you are talking about his deplorable hobby." Ulquiorra says as Naomi played in his hair. "That's a hobby!?" Nel suddenly shouted in anger. Their eyes widen. Orihime and Tatsuki stepped out of the kitchen. "Is everything okay?" "Okay…what happened?" Oichi asked.
"Tesra has a hobby of…reliving pleasure…with Nnoitra's clothes." "What the fuck!?" Jess says frowning. Nova gasp. "No mama!" She covered her mouth. "Sorry, sweetie. I said a bad word, didn't I?" Nova nodded. Oichi giggled and snuggled her. "So cute." Her smile dropped and looked at Nel. "So…he did that with his clothes?" Nel groans. "He did that while wearing my clothes, lying in our bed, doing it with his clothes. Matter of fact it was the cute shirt you made me Oichi." Oichi gave a quick look of disgust. "I'll…make you a new one." "Yeah, I burnt all those clothes." Nel links her hands together. "I was worried about Tesra but now, I don't know. I mean it may seem harmless, but he did that and then put his hands on Sophie, and he was around Grayson and that is just too much for me. God forbid if Grayson finds him and saw him doing that." "I could just imagine Grimmjow's reaction." Ichigo says shaking his head. "Then is a good thing he is out of here." Tatsuki says throwing her hand up. "A man like that is nothing but red flags. I was amazed that you even let him stay there!" "Yeah, Nnoitra may look like a thug, but he is quite cheap sometimes. He saw Tesra as free labor, and he did clean well." "Screw that. He tried to kill you." Ichigo says. "I didn't care about the guy but seriously going that far for a man like Nnoitra was insane. No offense." Nel chuckled. "None taken. I get it." She runs her fingers through her hair. "Okay, enough about that. We have a birthday party to celebrate. When is Uryu getting here with the cake? I heard he was getting Noah something big?" Tatsuki frowns and turned her head. "He said he will be here…but he has said that before and failed." She walked into the kitchen. Eyes turned to Orihime who shook her head and followed her in.
"Trouble in paradise." Ichigo says. "Mmm…" Oichi says. She looked down at Nova. "Ahh, you are just so cute! You look just like your mom! Ugh! I want a clone of me!" Nova giggled more and more as Oichi snuggled her. "What are you talking about. The twins look like you." Jess says. "Oh please. All of them look just like their father." Oichi says with a pout. "One day I'll get me a mini-me." Alisha and Naomi frowned at this. "Down!" Naomi says pushing away from Ulquiorra. Alisha whimpered at Ichigo. "I know, you too." The twins ran to Oichi and grabbed her legs. "Mama!" They yelled with growing teary eyes. "Look what you did! You made them jealous. Shame on you." Nel says chuckling. Oichi giggled. "Bah! It was just a trap so that I can snuggle them all!" She scoops up the twins and started snuggling all three of the girls. They giggled and laughed together.
At the hospital, Uryu was getting ready to leave when Nemu walked in. "Doctors, are you leaving already?" "Yeah…I have to get to the store and get some things." "I see, would you like a message before you go? I have the hot towel that you order, and everyone is busy with your portion of work. We shouldn't be disturbed." "No, I…have to go." Nemu held up a towel. "How about I look up that toy and get it ready to be picked up? That way you can just swing by there quickly and then go to the cake." "I…suppose." "I am used to these tasks. Please relax." Uryu sighs and sits down. "Just make it quick okay." Nemu smiled softly. Uryu quickly averts his eyes feeling a hot tint run across his cheeks. 'You are a married man Uryu. Don't use this as an excuse.'
"Please remove your glasses and close your eyes." Nemu says as she walks over to him. Uryu moves his glasses and closes his eyes. She places the hot towel over his face. Once he let out a sigh Nemu went to the tablet and started looking up some toys.
Nnoitra was sitting in the living room in a panic. Sophie was crying and he had no clue what to do. He wanted to call Nel, but he didn't want to be yelled out for not knowing how to care for his own daughter. "Dammit, I should have paid more attention to that stupid class!" Sophie's crying got louder. "Shit. N-No d-don't cry. Um…I'm here? Dad's here?" He says. It was a very weird feeling hearing himself talk this, but it seems to work a little. Sophie started to calm down just a little. "There…there…I wish you could talk so I can know what the hell to do…" The doorbell rings and Sophie starts crying all over. "Dammit it!" He gets up and rushes to the door to kick whoever's ass was at the door. He opened it with haste and saw Grimmjow standing there in a jacket holding an umbrella. He had a baby bag over his shoulder and a car seat that was covered up. "Mind moving." Nnoitra raises his eyebrow but steps aside. "What the hell are you doing here?" "Oichi got worried when she heard you were here with Sophie and asked me to check on you…" Grimmjow heard Sophie crying. "And I can see she was right to worry…"
They walked to the living room to see Sophie with a red face. "She's been crying like this ever since Nel left. I don't know what's wrong!" Grimmjow put the car seat with Cyrus in it. He had small noise cancellations headsets on, so he slept peacefully through the rain. "Did you pick her up?" "No…" "Why?" "I don't know! Just make her stop crying!" Grimmjow rolled his eyes and picked up Sophie and just like that she started to calm down and the crying stopped. Nnoitra's eyes widen. "H-How did you do that?" "You are a fucking dumbass." Grimmjow says growling out. "She is your kid. How did you not know!?" "Look I didn't bother paying attention to those stupid classes. They were boring!" Grimmjow walked up to him. "Hold her." Nnoitra gulps and a look of fear ran across his face. Grimmjow raised his eyebrow and then sighs. "Okay…I see. You see how small she is and your scared of hurting her. I mean if you think about it. This…this tiny little girl in my arms is most likely the best thing you have ever done in your life. I know that feeling…I felt it when I first held Grayson. When me and Oichi found out we were having twins though…I didn't show it, but I was scared shitless…look how Gray turned out. He is a ball of nothing but my genes. Now I got two girls? How am I going to raise them to not be like me? It's…scary but, at the end of the day, you are going to have to overcome that fear. Stop being a prick and hold her."
He held Sophie out. Nnoitra frowned and reached out his shaky hands. Grimmjow handed Sophie to him. They watched as Sophie got calmer and even let out a tiny smile. "See, she just wanted to be held by you." He walked over to Cyrus and opened the car seat. He was still sleeping. Nnoitra couldn't stop staring at Sophie as she yawns. "I can't believe this is mine…" "Yup, and you better take care of it or it's going to eat away at your soul. Can you imagine some snot-nosed boy coming up to her and playing with her feelings? Breaking her heart?" "You mean another me? No…I'd never let that happen. My daughter isn't going to be raised like some pom pom girl. I'll teach her how to kick ass…behind Nel's back of course…" Grimmjow chuckled.
At a bar in the city, Danni and Nia were sitting down, waiting on the company. "So, you and Byakuya are going steady now. My oh my. I wonder if I will get another niece or nephew soon." Nia blushed. "Danni stop that. Besides, I should be asking if I get one. I thought you planned not to have anymore." "I did…but looking at Shunsui's face when I said it the first time…ugh…that man…if I happen to get another one out of sheer luck…he better be grateful. I'm getting my womb removed after that. No more kids." She says drinking a coke and jack. Nia chuckled. "Have you spoken to Terry lately?" She asked suddenly. "No. You know that boy. He is at Dante's every beck and calls these days." Nia frowned. "I see…he still hates me? I understand if he did…" "Nia you know he doesn't. You all already had that little talk. You weren't in the right mind after Terrance died. No one blames you for that. If anything, we should have seen something that wasn't right. We should just be happy that you are just too much of a sweetheart to go through with something like that."
Nia rubs the rim of her margarita. "I suppose. I just don't want him to come back and blame me for everything. I haven't told Byakuya about that horrible past of mine. I'm scared he would look at me differently." "Then wait for a good time. Hell, from what you told me, the deal-breaker would have been that little family of his. No way in the deepest part of the Netherlands would I ever involve myself with that 'nobles are everything' shit again. Ugh." She then smirked. "Has he taken you to bed yet?" Nia's eyes grew wide. "Danni!" Danni laughed. "Oh, come on! You haven't had any since Kim was born and Byakuya has been dried up since Hisana. You can't tell me there isn't some sexual frustration going on between you two?" Nia pouts and then sighs. "I mean maybe I guess…I think we are a bit too scared to take that step right now." "Pff…you two. I was just fine after I left Dante." "Yeah, but you didn't like him sis…once those papers of divorce were sighed you just let the inner hoe take control." "What!? The lies. I didn't sleep around that bad, but I did have my fun but, less about me, more about you." "How about I take the kids for a night, and you can invite him over? Give him some home cooking oh and wear something sexy!" "Oh my…I don't think I have anything like that…" "You can always hit up the mall hon. Or you can visit your amazing niece and ask her to make one for you." Danni sings out a bit. Nia smiled. "It's been ages since I saw Oichi. Mom showed me pictures of her little ones. I can't believe she is a mom now." Danni chuckled. "Yes, she makes motherhood look wonderful and horrible at the same time. I thank the heavens I only had one child. I think I would have pulled my hair out from the roots if I had twins."
The door to the bar opened. "Wow! This storm is something huh?" The women turned around to see Shunsui and Byakuya walk in. Shunsui was dripping wet while Byakuya was completely dry. He shook off his umbrella and made his way to the bar. "How sad that you would leave me out in the rain." "I told you that you should have brought your own umbrella. It is foolish to think anyone other than you did not watch the news today." "How could I…"
He slid in next to Danni. "I was up all night getting spoiled." Danni rolled her eyes. "Oh shush." "Hi, Byakuya." "Nia…are you sure this place is where you want to be? There is a much better bar down the street." Danni frowned. "Could you shut up and sit down. Besides that place is closed today. No one has time to see you flaunt your money around to impress my baby sister. She's way too simple for that." Nia pouted a bit. "Simple…" Byakuya sat beside Nia. "I think you overestimate your sister. She is more than merely simple. She has a much more refined taste. She just doesn't have the means to fully ascend to them just yet. I am prepared to do that." He grabs her hand. "If that bar is closed, one call and I can have the place set up for just us." Nia blushed and let out a giggle. "H-How can I refuse?" Byakuya kissed her cheek and got up to make a call. "You let him walk all over you." Danni says with a groan. "I do not! He is just very hard to say no to and he is going the extra mile to make this rain and gloomy day…special…" She gave Danni a look. Danni chuckled. "Is that right…well…good luck and as always give me the juicy details. Remember what we talked about!"
Byakuya walked back over. "It's done." He held out a hand. "Let us go." Nia smiled and took his hand. "Bye sis!" She grabbed her jacket and walked away with Byakuya. "Have fun!" Danni says waving her hand. "How do you like that…my own sister. Betrayed me for a man. How ironic." Shunsui wrapped his arm around her. "All I see is that it gives us an excuse to head back home and enjoy this rainy…" He kisses her neck. "Gloomy…" He kisses her cheek. "…weather back home…" He kissed her lips making her chuckle as she kisses back. She breaks it first. "Fine. But it's my turn to be spoiled. I want banana waffles with chocolate chips with warm cocoa and marshmallows with cinnamon on top." Shunsui laughs. "That's fair. I don't think I could top your BBQ ribs with those creamy mash potatoes and your sweet tea is to die for. Then for dessert, you just wipe out this banana nut cream pie. Which we used happily in the bedroom…might I say do we plan to use some more sweets in there?" Danni laughed. "Oh please. Like I would waste my time playing instead of eating. Just for that sinful comment, I want a foot rub and many if you can do that, we can take a nice hot bath together. Then we can see where that takes us." She taps his nose. "Deal. I accept those terms."
The door was suddenly slammed opened making everyone who was in there, jump. Shunsui turned to the door and smiled. "Lisa! Is that you!?" Danni turned to see a woman standing there glaring at her. Danni raised her eyebrow. "Friend of yours?" "She used to work under me. Lisa! Come share a drink with us!" Lisa walked up to them and shot a dark look at Danni. 'Hmmm…' She looked at Shunsui and smacked him on the back of his head. "You damn cheat! Who is this woman!" Danni blinks and looks back and forth at them both. Shunsui looked just as confused. "Lisa? Um…I don't know what you are playing but this is pretty dangerous you know…" "First, I don't hear from you for days! Then you stop talking to me? Now you're acting like I'm a stranger. Who is this woman? Does she know you're engaged?" "L-Lisa come on now. This isn't funny. I sure you know who the woman is I am sitting next to…" "Were we not supposed to get married and have a wonderful family? With a little cottage in the woods, in the middle of nowhere, no lifeline, no people to bother us. where I'd force you to work, grovel, and beg me to stop?" "That is oddly specific…but Lisa please don't do this, or you will…" They heard a laugh. They both turned to see Danni drown her glass. "Typical…just typical. How could I believe that you have changed!"
"Danni wait. This is all…" "No, no, you have always been a ladies' man and I had accepted that, but I thought…just thought…maybe you were being serious about this. I even decided that I would give you a child and then…" Shunsui's eyes widen. "Danni…?" Danni stood up. "Figures. Another man comes and tramples my heart. Well, have fun with whoever this woman is. I want nothing more to do with this." She walked to the door. Shunsui got up and ran after her. He grabbed her wrist. "Danni come on. Wait a moment. She was just…" Danni turned around tearing up. It pulled at Shunsui's heart. "Danni…listen I…" She pulled away from him and walked out the door.
Lisa walked up. "And there she goes…I knew it. She…" "Lisa…" She looked up and frowned to see Shunsui giving her a cold look. "I don't know what you are trying to do but this is different from your little tricks. You may think I don't deserve a woman like Danni, but she is my world, and I won't let anyone, even you destroy that." He rushed out the door. He looked left and right and spotted Danni just standing beside the door waiting. "Danni. Listen. I swear to you. Me and Lisa are just old friends. There is nothing going on between us. I only care about you. You're the only woman I love." "I know." She says waving her hand. "Huh?" "I said I know, and I know who Lisa is dummy." Shunsui looked confused as Lisa walked out the door. "What's going on?" He asked watching Lisa walk by him.
Lisa stood in front of Danni and crossed her arms. "I guess I was wrong. I wasn't expecting him to rub me off like that." Danni smirked. "I told you my man only has eyes for me. I wouldn't be dealing with him if I knew he was lying to me. If you are satisfied get the hell out of here and find something to do. You also owe me 25 dollars and a free lunch for the bet. I'll be the one taking care of Shunsui." Lisa smirked. "Very well, but if you break his heart…I will come after you." "Little girl don't make me break you in half and don't go near my daughter harassing her about my life." Lisa shrugs. "Sure, sure. Enjoy." They saw a car pull up. "My work here is done. I have a bookstore to get to." She opens the back door and closes it. They watch the car speed off.
Shunsui stood there in a heap turn of confusion. Danni shakes her head. "I'll explain at home when you are making me pancakes. Come on." Shunsui rubs his head. "I am no match for you. Am I?" He wrapped an arm around her. "You scared me for a bit." "That was the point. To make you sweat a little." "You had me sweating bullets." He placed a hand on her stomach. "Was this a little ploy to? To get me all emotional?" Danni placed a hand over his. "Not really. I decided that if I am going to spend the rest of my life with you, the least I can do is go through another long 9-month process." He smiled and pulled her close. "Please tell me we get to do some practicing when we go home?" Danni pokes his chest. "It depends on how well these pancakes turn out."
Back at Tatsuki house, the kids were running around in the living room now. Noah was eyeing all the gifts. "Mine!?" Tatsuki smiled. "Yup! Your aunties and uncles got them all for you!" "Yay!" They got into his car, and he drove off to her place. Nia quickly got her phone and texted Danni. "I…I didn't know I did a look…" Her pupils grew and became glossy.
Ichigo clapped. "Quick a picture!" Nel was on point. She already had a phone out. Ulquiorra was studying Jess's face. He had noticed that she did do that face quite a bit when he didn't let her have her way sometimes. 'Interesting…' "Take a look." Nel says showing Jess the picture. Jess took the phone and gasp. "Wow…it really does look like I'm about to cry…I didn't know I looked like that. I'm sorry." She handed Nel's phone back and rubbed her cheek. "I swear I didn't know…" "It's fine. I mean it's scary that you never noticed that. You might be more absent-minded than Oichi." Oichi frowned at that comment. "I am not absent-minded! It just…takes me a little longer to catch stuff okay." She pouted a bit. The twins blinked and pouted, crossing their arms. Mila chuckled. "How cute. They copy you."
Tatsuki walked into the kitchen and dialed Uryu's number. It kept ringing and ringing. She bit her lip and hung up the phone. Orihime walked in with a chuckle. "They are so cute. So did you get up with…" "No." Tatsuki says walking by her. "Okay kids time for cake!" The kid's eyes widen. "CAKE!" They shouted. "Oh, just what we need. More sugar." Nel says.
Oichi taps her chin and glanced at Ichigo who shrugs. Jess nudged her. "I thought Uryu was bringing the cake?" She whispered. "Same…so unless he is a ghost and just walked by us…" Tatsuki ushered the kids into the kitchen. The adults followed and saw a large chocolate cake with Noah's name on it and the number 2 on top with it, with Noah's favorite animal face on it. An elephant. "Oooo!" The kids said together. Oichi was holding Alisha while Jess was holding Nova. Jess blinks. "That isn't the cake that…" "Shh…" Oichi says. They glanced at Tatsuki who had a smile on her face, but Oichi could read the sadness behind it. She picked up Noah. "Okay, everyone! Ready to sing happy birthday!?"
When the singing was done, Noah blew out the candles with the help of Tatsuki. While she cut slices of cake. Orihime led the kids back to the living room so Noah could open his gifts.
Tatsuki stayed in the kitchen as Mila started bringing cake to the children. Her phone rings. She hesitated to answer it but grabbed it. She saw it was Ryuken. "Hello?" "Hello, Tatsuki. I was wondering if my gift made it to the house." "Gift?" There was a knock at the door. She walked to it, as all eyes wondered to it. She opened the door and saw two men in black mover's uniform. "What is this?" "Well, I figured he would follow in mine and his father's step one day, so I got him a doctor playhouse with all the parts included of course." Tatsuki stepped to the side as the movers brought in the large playhouse. "OOOOO!" Noah's eyes lit up as more toys started to roll in. "Y-You got more?" "As my first grandson, I do need to spoil him just a bit." Ryuken says. They saw a tricycle, a set up for a new bed, a bookshelf, a large stuff elephant." "So cool!" Emma yelled. "Huge!" Bella says pointing at the large stuffed animals. Ichigo chuckled. "Such a showoff. Tatsuki smiled. "Thank you Ryuken. Noah looks so excited to play with everything." "Of course, dear. You are family after all, and Noah shows great promise. I don't want him to waste it like my son did in his youth. Speaking of which. Did he bring home the cake and what about the gifts?"
"Oh um…he hasn't been picking up phone…so I figured he must have been busy with work." There was a pause. "I see…" Tatsuki felt a poke on her leg. She looked down. "I speak!" Noah says looking up at her. "Oh, Noah wants to speak. Tell your grandfather thank you okay." "K mama!" Tatsuki bends down and puts the phone on speaker. "Pop pop! Tank you!" "You are very welcome, Noah. Now you play with those toys responsibly, okay?" "K! daddy der!?" Tatsuki frowned. "Don't worry your father will be there soon, okay?" Noah smiled. "Daddy! Hee-hee!" "Go on with auntie Orihime so you can open the rest of your gifts, okay?" "K! Bye pop!" He ran back over jumping into Orihime's arms. "Thank you again. He is really happy." "Mhm…I'll go see what my stupid son is up to. I must apologize on behalf of him." "Thank you…I suppose…not that it matters…" She walked into the kitchen. "Look I know this job is important to this family line and all but all I ask was for one night to spend with Noah. He promised to give his work to the others so he can get the cake and the gift and yet he isn't here nor is he responding to my calls at all." "…do not worry. I will find out what is going on." "Thank you." Tatsuki says hanging up. She takes a deep sigh and rubs her fingers through her hair. 'Maybe…this marriage wasn't such a great idea after all. "Tatsuki…" She jumped slightly and turned around to see Ichigo walk in. "Wanna talk?" "Not now…Noah is…" "Opening gifts. What's going on? Where is Uryu?" Tatsuki sighs. "I don't know. He isn't picking up." "Let's step outside." They went out the side door of the kitchen and sat down on patty. "So, what's up. Don't lie now." Ichigo says. Tatsuki links her fingers. "Ichigo…I don't know…At first, I didn't mind him working all these hours and doing what he does best but lately…I don't…he doesn't come home. He never spends time with Noah. I always must beg him to spend at least an hour with him. That is the least he could do but every time he gets a call or a pager, he is out the door without even saying bye…and…and…" She starts to tear which shocked Ichigo. "Oh, who am I kidding…" She lings her fingers together. "I think I made a mistake Ichigo. I don't think this married life is for me and while I do love Uryu I just can't do this. Worrying about why he isn't coming home or understanding while he would rather work than spend time with his son. If someone told me this is what it would be like I wouldn't have agreed to marry him." Tears rolled down her cheeks. "I'm not happy like this Ichigo. I say I'm mad that he doesn't come home but if I am being true to myself, I don't really care if he does or doesn't. I just worry about Noah. I don't know what to do and I feel trapped…"
Ichigo sighs and scratches his head. "Dammit, Tatsuki. You haven't cried like this since the time Orihime got badly injured on that trip we took as kids. Listen all I can say is that you need to do what makes you happy. I'm sure if you just talk to that idiot he will listen and understand how you feel. You both can come up with a way to make this work or…if you both realize that you both need space come up with a plan and make sure Noah receives love from both of you." Tatsuki sniffs and dries her eyes. "Yeah…maybe we can do that." Ichigo chuckled. "I never took you for the married type anyways. You give off the independent mother type. Scary." Tatsuki chuckled and nudged him. "Oh, shut up." "Come on, they should be almost done opening gifts. You need to clean your face before the kids start asking questions." He got up and stretched. "Just remember. No matter what happens if you ever need someone to talk to just come right on over. I don't mind being the one to tell you to get your crap in order." "Whatever." Tatsuki says pushing past him. He chuckled and walked back inside.
At the hospital, Ryuken was walking through the halls to get to Uryu's office. He stopped when he noticed Nemu walking out. 'That idiot…' Once Nemu was out of sight he walked up to the door and opened it. He saw Uryu laying on the bed with another hot towel on his face. He walked in and slammed the door shut making Uryu pop up. "Nemu?" He moved the towel and grabbed his glasses. Once he put them on, he frowned. "Ryuken…" "Still disrespectful as ever…what are you doing." "I just needed to rest a bit." "Mhm…so you made this proud and bold full claim that you would make my parenting skill look like child's play." "Yeah, I did. So what?" "Tell me, stupid boy. In this situation. what is making you better than me?" Uryu gave him a confused look.
Ryuken rubbed the space between his eyes. "How did I bring up such an incompetent boy." "What do you want Ryuken. You are giving me a headache." "Fine since you are much to focus on your lovey nurse…today…is your only son's birthday. You promised your wife that you were going to split shifts so that you could be home to celebrate that said birthday and yet when I called to make sure my gifts got there why was I told that you weren't at that party and that you weren't even returning calls?" Uryu's eyes widen. "Shit!" He got up quickly and ran to his desk. He grabbed his phone to see missed calls from Tatsuki, the bakery, and even the toy store. "Oh no…" "Oh yes, if this is your way of telling me that you can do parenthood better than me…well…me calling you stupid is becoming way too much of a nicety these days." Uryu bit his lip and grabbed his phone and coat. "Get out of my way! I need to go!" "Why? Surely you want to wait for your nurse to get back?" "What? What does that have to do with anything." "Well, you are ignoring your wife's calls and it looks like you would rather lay in that cheap, bumpy bed, with a hot towel from your nurse than go home to your family. I mean if you are going to have an affair can you do it outside of the hospital?" "I am not sleeping with Nemu. She is just helping me relax." "Yeah, which leads to an affair. I've seen it happen many times boy. First, she helps you relax by giving you a massage, and then she gives you a hot towel while you spill your guts out about how your wife nags you about not spending time with the family. Once you open yourself up to her, she is going to start trying to introduce more physical ways to help you 'relax' and you realize you have gone too far once you open your eyes the next morning and find out you're in bed with someone who isn't you wife."
Uryu bit his lip. "Hear me now Uryu. If you don't think this marriage is doing anything for you than just give it up. Clearly, you and Tatsuki were never suited for each other but at least you brought in a grandson that has more hopes than you could ever have." "If you think I'm going to let you control Noah's future then you are out of your mind!" "Sure, sure, we will see how that will go in the future when he is looking up to me more than you. Go home, boy. Don't bother going to the shops. I'm sure they already sold and gave away whatever pointless item you had to ask for." He opened the door. "And if I should catch you with that nurse while you are still married, I would suggest finding another place to work. While I may have accepted your help with running the hospital at the end of the day everything is still under my name and I refuse to have such slime run amuck in my hospital. Remember that." He opened the door and left.
Uryu groans and dialed Tatsuki's number. It quickly went to voicemail. "Damn…" He looked at the time. "I can still make it to the store. I can't mess this up." He ran out of his office, bypassing Nemu. "Doctor? Hm…"
Nia was gripping her pillow, holding in her moans. Her face was red and sweaty. Her hair was messy, but she wasn't focused on her looks. Her body was feeling way too amazing right now. Since she didn't let Orihime and the others stay to help, it took her about another hour to clean up everything. Noah was back in his playroom discovering his new toys.
She was putting the last of the food away when she heard the door open. "Tatsuki?" She turned to see Uryu rush into the kitchen. He was panting and soaked to the bone. "Looks like the rain picked up as I figured." She says, washing a cup. "Tatsuki I…I'm sorry. I…" "Don't worry about it. Luckily Orihime was able to make a cake and your father sent a lot of gifts and so did Oichi." "I see…the party is over?" "It's been over for about an hour. You should get yourself cleaned up before Noah sees you." Uryu walked over to Tatsuki and touched her hand. She slips it away. "I have to finish cleaning. You need to get out of those clothes." "Tatsuki let me explain. I…was getting ready to leave when I ended up closing my eyes for a few moments. I asked Nemu if she could pre-order the gifts for Noah so I could relax a bit and I ended up sleeping longer than I thought. Please don't be mad" Tatsuki sighs. "So, you are telling me, you have been asleep for all these hours when I was calling you? You asked some random woman to pre-order your own sons' gift? Then you expect me to understand so I won't be mad?"
"Nemu isn't a random woman. She is my assistant and a great nurse. She also gives good massages and her hot towel treatments…" Tatsuki slammed her hands on the sink. "So! Let me get this straight!" She says snapping. Uryu jumped. "It seems the only part you are focusing on is that I called Nemu a random person. You were with her all day while she gave you massages and hot towel treatments while your SON was here waiting for you on his birthday!" She turned to him with anger in her eyes. "Is THAT what you're trying to tell me!?" Uryu backed up. "N-No well, it's not like that I…" "Daddy…?" They turned to see Noah poking his head into the kitchen. Tatsuki sighs and turned her head. She took a deep breath and put on a smile. "Noah sweetie. Daddy is a little late but right now he is all wet. Why don't you go back to your room, and he will be in there to play with you okay?" "…k mama…" He says softly and ran back to his room. Tatsuki turns to the sink to finish the dishes. "Tatsuki I…" "Don't speak to me right now…when Noah is asleep, we need to talk. Please go change. You are getting the floor wet." Uryu sighs and heads to their room.
The next morning, Nia's phone was ringing. Her eyes opened and she groans softly. Her body ached. She reached up and grabbed her phone and turned it off without looking. She lays back down and was about to close her eyes when an arm wrapped around her. "Mmm…morning." She says softly. She turned around and smiled sleepily at Byakuya. He smiles softly and rubbed her side. "How is your body?" "I'll be fine." She says snuggling up to him. "How are you feeling?" She asked. "…at peace…" He wrapped his arm back around her and pulled her close. "It has been years since I had last held someone this close to me." Nia had her head on his chest. She could feel his heart speeding up. "I know the feeling. Do you have to leave soon?" Byakuya closed his eyes then opened them. "Yes, I have to work in the office today and I believe you have to go collect your children." Nia sighs. "Yes, I guess I just wished we could stay in bed a little longer." "You say that like we won't get another chance like this." Nia blushed and then giggled. "True. Um…do you mind if I can bring you lunch today? Or are we still on the low?" "That would be lovely. I'll send you a pass to get through the gate. Call me when you make it through." Nia smiled. "Yay!"
Over at Florina's, she was getting breakfast ready for Hisagi and Izzy. She was humming when suddenly she felt a little dizzy. She shook it off, rubbing her head. Frowning grabbed a glass and started to pour water into it. Hearing footsteps and yawning she turned to see Izzy wearing a white shirt with no bra and black shorts. Her hair was messy, and she was scratching her side. "Morning sis…" Florina giggled. "Morning Izzy. Late-night?" "Mhmm." She sat down and grabbed some toast. She spreads some jelly on it and bit into it. "Hey, sis?" "Yes, Izzy?" "I plan on moving." Florina smiles and sips on her water. "You are moving in with Yoshiro?" Izzy nods. "He found a nice apartment for us. I talked him out of buying a house. I'm excited and worried though. He has been used to maids and butlers. He didn't even know how to wash his own clothes." Florina laughs. "Sounds like you. I remember the time you called me in a panic because you put too much soap in the washer. Your whole laundry room was flooded." Izzy blushed. "Anyways…I'll be moving out on the first of January." "Oh? Why so late? I thought he already has the apartment?" "He does but…" Izzy rubs her head. "I um…I want to ask if you can teach me some things like cooking and stuff." Florina laughs again. "So cute! Of course, I'll teach you. Oichi can help too. I'll write a little guide for you too if you want. Not something you have to follow but something to keep until you get into your own little pattern."
Florina felt faint but quickly played it off when Hisagi came down. "Morning Izzy. Morning Flo." "Morning Hisagi. Are you eating this morning?" He sat down at the table. "Yeah, I don't have to be at the office until late. With all the construction and remodeling." Florina fixed him some pancakes, eggs, grits, and sausage. She sat it down in front of him. "Oh, Izzy, mom told me that auntie Nia is here." "Really!?" Izzy says grabbing some bacon. "That is shocking. Does Oichi know?" "No, but Mom plans on bringing Kim and Ty over to her house today. She'll figure out then." "She is so sneaky." Izzy says chuckling.
Hisagi bit into his eggs. "I heard you and Yoshiro are moving in together?" "Yeah, at the beginning of the new year." Florina sat a cup of coffee down for her and Hisagi. She took her seat at the table. "She wants to learn about cooking and house stuff." Izzy pouted. "I just wanna learn how to cook better." "You barely keep your room clean, and you mess up on the chores you were given." Izzy groans. "What are you, my father?" "No, I wouldn't want that role at all. If you were my daughter, I think you would have turned out very differently." Florina sips on her coffee with a giggle. She felt a strong sickly urge. "Excuse me." She says getting up and heading to the bathroom. Izzy and Hisagi kept arguing back and forth.
"I would never want to be your daughter! You would be the most boring dad!" Hisagi rolled his eyes. "I am not boring." "Ha lies. I don't see what Flo sees in you at all." Izzy says stuffing her face.
Suddenly they heard a loud thump. They both got up and ran upstairs to the bathroom. The door was opened, and they saw Florina's hand on the floor. "Flo!?" Hisagi called it. He rushed in to see that she had passed out on the floor. "Flo!? Flo!" He bends down and lifts her up. "Sis!?" "Quick get Uryu on the phone! Now!" Hisagi yelled. Izzy nods and rushed to her room to get her phone.
Tatsuki was drinking a cup of coffee in the kitchen. Noah was still sleeping in his new room that Uryu had put up last night. "Tatsuki?" Tatsuki watched as Uryu walked in and sat in front of her. "I would like to apologize for last night. This was Noah's day and instead of being here like I promised I was…" "Playing around at work?" "No, never! It's just…I've been stressed, and I needed to relax just for a little."
Tatsuki put her cup down. "Relax how? Just tell me okay." "It's nothing bad…I…Nemu…she used to work for the center, and she left and is now working under me as my assistant nurse. She had these massage techniques, and she has a hot towel treatment that works wonders…" "So, you allowed your nurse to massage you and give you that treatment? Real smooth." Tatsuki says sipping her coffee. "It isn't that bad…" Uryu says. "It's fine. One of my students gives me a foot rub at the dojo. He also rubs my back when I get sore after training." Uryu's eyes widen. "What? How long has that been going on?" "It hasn't but you see how you just got upset?" Uryu rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm sorry…" Tatsuki looked down at her cup. "Uryu…listen… I don't think this is going to work. I think we moved too fast in the marriage." Uryu sighs and looks down. "Yeah, I was thinking about that as well." There was silence in between them. "I was thinking maybe it would be better if we separated for a while." Tatsuki says. His eyes widened slightly but he remained calm. "Okay. I understand. If that is what you want."
His phone rings. He sighs and takes it out. "It's Izzy." He looked up at Tatsuki who nods. Answering it, before he could say hello, Izzy started yelling on the phone. "Flo collapsed! P-Please come quick!" Uryu's eyes widen slightly. "Are you home!? Alone?" "No! Hisagi is here!" "Alright, put her somewhere comfortable, I'll be there in a moment!" He gets up.
"What happened?" "Florina collapsed. Can we finish this another time?" "Yes, go, please. Do you want me to call Oichi?" "No, I don't want her rushing out right now if it's nothing serious. I'll make the call when I am finished." He rushed out of the kitchen and grabbed his bag and keys. Tatsuki heard the door open and close. She sighs and puts her head down on the table. Noah pokes his head out seeing her. 'Mama…' He frowned and looked down. 'Daddy mean…?'
Hisagi had Florina on the couch. She felt a little feverish. Izzy came out of the kitchen with a wet rag and put it on her forehead. "Sis…Maybe she just overworked herself. That's what happen to Oichi one time." Hisagi frowned. "She does take care of the house by herself and then goes to work…" He started to feel bad. Sure, he did a few of the chores but it was thanks to Florina that the house stayed as clean as it did. She cooked, cleaned, worked, put up with him and Izzy." He held her hand. "Flo…"
They heard a screech and a door open and slam. There was a knock at the door. Izzy answered it and Uryu rushed in. "Where is she?" "Living room!" Izzy says pointing. Uryu rushed to the living room and saw Florina. She was sweating a bit. "Did she show any signs of unrest before she passed out?" "No, she was the same as she always way." "Alright, move back." Hisagi nods and moves away. While Uryu doctored on Florina, Izzy was going to call Oichi when Florina's eyes opened. They jumped slightly as she sat up quickly. "Oh! Wasn't I in the bathroom?" "Florina!" Izzy says jumping over the couch. "What happened!? Are you okay!?"
"I'm fine. Hi Uryu! What are you doing here?" Uryu frowned and touched her forehead. "You are burning up." "Am I? I kind of feel hot but…" "But what?" He asked. Florina looked at Hisagi and turned her head. "May…I speak to you in private?" Uryu blinks. "Sure." They went to her room. She closed the doors behind her and sighs. "So, what is going on?" Uryu asked. Florina tears and rubs her hands together. "T-The truth is…" She gulps. "I…I'm pregnant." Uryu's eyes widen. "What? Did you tell anyone? Hisagi? Your sisters?" Florina sniffs and shakes her head. "Me and Hisagi talked about kids, but he told me that he wasn't ready just yet. I…I didn't mind waiting. I had the implant, but it had to be removed because it was making me sick for some reason, so we used condoms and birth control but still…still…" She held her belly. "If I tell him I'm pregnant he might leave me…" Uryu frowned. "Flo…he wouldn't do that, but you have to tell him. You are overworking yourself and putting yourself in a bind. Now that you are pregnant even now, all this stress is going to impact the pregnancy." Florina shakes her head in tears. "I can't…" "Then I'm calling your sister." "No!" Florina yelled out.
Downstairs Hisagi heard her yell and rushed up the stairs. He reached the door and grabbed the doorknob. "Please don't call Oichi!" Florina says. He stopped as he listened. "Flo, you have to tell someone. He is going to find out eventually." 'Find out what?' "Please just…don't tell anyone. I will handle it." "…Flo don't tell me…you plan to get rid of it?" 'Rid of what?' Hisagi frowned but stayed still to listen. "No…No…I just need time to think." "You are getting sick, and I have to let them know. Hisagi isn't going to leave you over this and even if he does you think your sisters will turn their back on you?" Florina started crying. "I don't want to lose him because of this. He can't find out that I'm pregnant so please…" Hisagi eyes widen and before he could even stop himself, he opened the door. Florina with teary and shocked eyes jumped. "H-Hisagi…" "Your pregnant?" She shook and dropped to her knees. He quickly went to her. "How long have you known? Why didn't you…" He didn't finish, as he just heard the reason why. He bit his lip and then sighs. "Flo…" He pulled her into a hug. "You are so foolish…just because I said I wanted to wait doesn't mean I would leave if you should ever get pregnant." Florina shook in his arms. "I…I'm sorry." "Don't apologize silly. I'm sorry for making you even think that." He pulls back and takes her hand. "How long have you known?" "I…found out two weeks ago." "Seriously? How did you hide that from me?" "You work a lot, so it helped."
"Your sneaky you know that…" He stood her up and hugged her tightly as it sinks in that he is about to be a father. "Flo, I love you and I will love our baby to okay. No more thoughts of you thinking I would leave you okay." She nods. Uryu smiled looking at them. He then frowned, realizing that he and Tatsuki never really shared a passion like this when she learned she was pregnant. He treated it like a goal. Like he had to do it. Maybe they did move too fast.
Around 3 pm, Nia was driving up to the center. She was nervous. It was a little chilly, so she was wearing a light purple sweater with black jeans and converses. Her hair was curled and, in the seat, beside her, she had lunch for Byakuya. She pulled up to the gate and rolled down the window down. "Do you have a pass?" Nia held up the pass that was sent to her. It had Byakuya's family seal on it. The guard's eyes widen. "O-Oh you have a noble past. Please go straight and take a left. There is some construction going on so some of the roads are blocked but this route will take you right to division six." Nia smiles. "Thank you." She drove inside.
Following the guard's instructions, she made it to the parking lot. She parked and took the lunch. Getting out she took a deep breath. She was nervous as she walked inside the building. Inside, people were running around working left and right. Making it to the counter, there was no one there. She pulled out her phone and called Byakuya but didn't get an answer. She then sent a text hoping he would give her some directions of where to find him. She stood at the counter fidgeting a little.
"Excuse me?" She looked up and saw Renji. She recognized him from the pictures she saw before. "Did you need some help or something?" He looked at the lunch. "Are you bringing lunch for a friend or boyfriend?" Nia blushed. "Oh y-yes…I um called and texted him but he didn't respond." "We are in a bit of a rush so yeah; I don't think he would pick up right now. Do you know what floor he is on? I can at least show you." "I guess he would be on the top floor but, he did tell me to show this to the gate?" She pulled out her pass. Renji's eyes widen. "Oh, you're here to see him!" He looked her up and down. 'This is the woman he is seeing. She does look cute.' "Uhm…please don't stare at me." She says getting embarrassed. "Sorry about that. He is on a phone conference call. It might be the reason he isn't picking up. You can follow me." Nia smiles. Renji walked her to the elevator and hit the top button.
They road up to the top. "So…you and Mr. Kuchiki are dating?" Renji asked. Nia smiled at him. "So…you must like cheating on my niece?" Renji blinks. "What?" Nia kept her smile. "You may not know me but, maybe you will recognize my name. Nia Tanaka." Renji's eyes widen. "My big sister, is Danni Tanaka, therefore, making her daughter my niece?" 'Shit…shit…shit!' Renji started to panic. Nia then laughed and playfully pat his shoulder. "Don't be all stiff. Really. I'm sorry if that was mean of me." Renji scratched his cheek. "N-No it's fine…so are you really Oichi's aunt?" "Yes, I just moved here a few months ago." "So, you're not going to beat me up or anything?" Nia laughed again. "No, I'm not much of a fighter like Danni. To be honest the family had a bet if you would last as long as you did." "I-Interesting…so um…you and Mr. Kuchiki?" "Oh um…I'm sure you know as well as I do that Mr. Kuchiki doesn't like his public affairs put on blast." Renji put his hands in his pockets. "You got me there…" They made it to the top floor. The door opened and everyone was doing work that was until Nia took a step forward. All eyes went to her making her embarrassed. Renji frowned. "Come on people don't act as you've never seen a woman before. Get back to work!" He yelled making them jump at his loud voice. Nia's phone vibrated. She pulled it out and smiled. She quickly sent back a text with a slight giggle. Renji was still yelling at the workers when the door to Byakuya's office open. Everything went silent. Nia smiled. "Byakuya!" She walked past Renji. Byakuya walked up. "Nia. I am sorry I didn't get your call. I was in a meeting." "It's okay. Renji helped me up. I brought you lunch?" She held up the bag of lunch. Byakuya glanced around the room, seeing all eyes on him. He turned back to Nia who was only looking at him. He felt his heart flutter. He reached up, past the bag and wrapped an arm around her, and pulled her into a kiss. Gasps were heard around the room. Someone dropped a coffee mug, Renji's eyes looked so wide that they were going to pop out.
Byakuya released her lips. Her face was bright red, and she giggled cheerfully. He took her hand and pulled her into her office. He glanced back to the workers. "Get back to work." He closed the door behind them. Everyone stood still until a worker stood up. "I got a picture!" She says gleaming. "Send it!" A worker says. "Oh my god! You saw how cute she was!?" "He kissed her first too!" "He has a girlfriend oh my gosh!" The chatter started up making Renji sigh. 'Oichi's aunt huh…I wonder if she knows.' He crosses his arms. 'But I have to see…it feels good to see him happy.' Renji chuckled. 'Rukia is going to freak when she hears this.'
Days passed and it was the night of October 31st, Jess's 29th birthday. Jess wanted to spend her day with Ulquiorra and Nova, but she wasn't feeling well. She had sent Ulquiorra out to get her something to eat that would be easy on her stomach. He took Nova with him. In her room, Jess was brushing her hair when she got a sudden urge to puke. She covered her mouth and ran to the bathroom making it to the toilet just in time. When she was done, she washed her mouth out and sighs. "Ugh…I think…I remember this feeling." She looked at the mirror to see herself looking green in the face. She then gasps and rubbed her belly. "No way…" She opened the mirror cabinet and took out a pregnancy test. Her heart was beating fast. "Could I really be?"
15 minutes later, Ulquiorra came home with Nova. He had a bag in his hand. Nova was blabbing about something, so he kept nodding his head. It seems like it delighted her, and it kept her going. He walked into the kitchen. "Da da foo?" "I will make you something in a bit. They suddenly heard rushing footsteps. "U-Ulquiorra!" He saw Jess turn the corner with tears in her eyes. "Jess. Why are you crying." She sniffed and held up two pregnancy tests. "I'm pregnant! We are having another baby!" She ran to him in happiness and hugged him crying happy tears. "I see…" He wrapped an arm around her. "Mama?" Nova says smacking Ulquiorra on his cheek. "She's okay. She is very happy." Ulquiorra says.
The home phone started to ring. Ulquiorra sighs out. "Jess I need to answer the phone." She sniffs and lets go. "Mama!" Nova says reaching out for her. Jess smiles and takes her while Ulquiorra goes into the living room. He picked up the cordless phone and answered. "Hello?" He sighs. "What do you want…" He turns to Jess. "And if I refuse…" Jess walks up to him. "And why should I care…" He let out a sigh. "I am not interested in joining that. It is pointless and a waste of time. I am hanging up." Jess shook her head as she heard yelling over the phone. She recognized the voice and wipes a tear from her eye. "Honey, may I have the phone?" Ulquiorra gave her a look that told her no, but she held her hand out. He narrowed his eyes but handed her the phone. She put it up to her ear. "Hello, uncle…what do you want? Me and Ulquiorra just learned some wonderful news and I would like to celebrate…" She listens and hums. "A trip…well…his birthday and Nova's birthday are within the same week, so I guess…okay…Mhmm…alright. I'm sure you did uncle, and you did it without asking me. I'll kick your butt later. Bye." She hangs up. She looks at Ulquiorra who crossed his arms. "I'm sorry dear but it looks like we are going on a trip for a while." "Of course, we are…" He took Nova out of her arms and headed upstairs. "Love wait…don't be mad…" She sighs rubbing her arm.
Out and about, Orihime and Tatsuki were walking behind Noah and Kazui who were dressed up. Kazui was a mummy and Noah was a vampire. They were doing the trick-or-treat rounds early since it would be a very cold night.
"So…you and Uryu are separating?" Orihime said in a sad voice. "I suppose…but I am getting divorce papers." "Are you sure? Is this something you really want?" Orihime asked. Tatsuki sighs. "We have been having talks. Long talks about us. I think we both moved too fast into this. It was fun for those few months but now…I'd rather be a single mother than deal with this." "I see…" Orihime says. "I packed up my things and moved into an apartment. I took Noah with me. He doesn't fully understand but Uryu promised to try to make time for him. His father called me the other day and apologized. He told me if I needed to, I could move in with him, but I declined." "Wow…other than work I heard he rarely ever apologizes. He must have a taken a liking to you." Tatsuki laughs. "I did give him a grandchild after all. I won't be surprised if he tries to spoil him a little more." They laughed as they reached the first house.
At Oichi's, Grimmjow was watching the twins run around the living room. They were staying in this year. Cyrus was asleep next to him lying on the couch. In the kitchen, Oichi was on the phone. "Wait what!?" She says in excitement. She was on the phone with Jess. "Yup, I found out I was pregnant. I took the test while Ulquiorra was out." "Congratulations! You and Flo huh. I wonder if Izzy is next." "Florina is pregnant!?" Jess says in shock. "Oh? Did I not tell you?" "Uh no! What the hell Oichi!?" "My bad, I thought I told you. Anyways, when are you going to the doctor?" "Oh, about that…um…don't be mad, okay?" "Uh…okay?" "My uncle called, and he wants me to come home for a while." "Are you serious?" "Yeah, and he already brought tickets for us. He wants to celebrate Nova's first birthday and spend Christmas with us." "Then why can't he come down here! Why does he always have to interfere!" "Oichi come on…you know how he is and it's only for a month." "A MONTH!? I have to miss my niece's 1st birthday because you're of your stupid uncle!" "Oichi…please don't yell. I know you are upset. So is Ulquiorra but it's not like he is trying to take me away again. I'm going to come back. Plus, we aren't kids anymore. He can't hold me now that I have made a life here."
Oichi wasn't happy. "Fine…I mean it freaking sucks…the prick can come down here…but whatever. I have to accept that your uncle is just going to be a forever pain in my ass." Jess sighs. "Yeah…so we will be gone until January. Do you mind checking on the house while we are gone?" "Sure…not like I can't stop you from going." "Come on sis…I said I was coming back." "I know…I know…just be careful…" "Yeah, I'll call you when we get to the airport and when we land." "Mhmm…" Oichi says. Jess hung up. Oichi slams the phone on the table. "UGH! I CAN'T STAND THAT MAN!" She screams out. Grimmjow walked in, holding Cyrus. "Guess you're talking about Jess's uncle?" "What's going on?" "Jess is leaving to spend Ulquiorra and Nova's birthday in Scotland along with Christmas so all of the planning we did for the Christmas party and for Nova's first birthday is being canceled, I guess…"
Grimmjow walked over to her. She dries her hands and takes Cyrus from him. She snuggled him. It made her feel better. "Don't let this get to you, babe. It does suck that we miss her birthday this year but there is always next year and the year after that." "I guess. Ugh, no matter how I feel Jetter gets his way in the end anyway. Once Jess agreed to it then there isn't anything else we can do." Grimmjow kissed her forehead. "Don't let it stress you out. It is what it is right." Oichi nods. "Yeah. I feel bad now for getting upset. I'll send her a text later tonight. I'm sure she is going to have her hands full since Ulquiorra is upset too." Grimmjow chuckled. "The fact that she can read him is still weird." "Oh, yea! She found out she was pregnant too!" "Really? Great…now we are going to have another one of her running around? I feel sick." He says rubbing his face. Oichi laughed and play smacked his arm. "Oh, stop it. From what it looks like you enjoy the attention of the babies." Grimmjow chuckled. "I bet they are going to have all girls and they all will come out looking like her." Grimmjow shivered. "Scary." Oichi laughed. "You are so stupid. I don't think her genes are that dominant. She might get a boy that looks like her. You never know." "Oh, but you agree that they are all going to look like her?" "What if they all look like her but get Ulquiorra's blank, cold look." They thought and imagined about it. They both shivered and laughed together. "Well with plans canceled how about we finally get around to dinner with Kokuto and his boyfriend?" "Do we have to…" Grimmjow says groaning. "Oh, don't act like you don't like him. It will be fun!" "Maybe, but I still have an off feeling about him." He suddenly felt pulling on his legs. He looked down to see the girls. "Daddy! Pway!" Naomi says smiling. "Alright, alright. I guess I can play the tickle monster today!" He wiggled his fingers making the girls scream. They ran off with him chasing them. Oichi giggled and looked down at Cyrus who woke up. "Hey, there little man. It's just me and you now."
It was soon December; Jess and her family were in Scotland. Oichi had made big plans for Nova's first birthday party, but they were canceled. Jetter had tried to call and apologize for taking them away for the month, but Oichi blocked his number. Instead of worrying about him, she made different plans to celebrate Elijah's birthday today on the 21st. He was turning 3. Around the 12th it had started snowing. The streets were covered in snow, and it made it the perfect party theme.
At Oichi's place, the Christmas tree was set up along with loads of presents. Separated from the birthday gifts. Her house was decorated. Lights on the walls both inside and out, Santa and reindeer's statues in the yard. Stickers of snowflakes on the walls and rooms and more. In the backyard, the kids were all bundled up and enjoying the snow. Naomi and Alisha were shocked to see their first snow. They were sitting on a soft blanket smacking the snow, giggling. Grayson, Kendric, Emma, Ichika, and Bella were learning how to make snowballs with Chad. The babies were inside warm and snuggly, being watched by Florina. She didn't like the cold very much. Noah and Kazui were with Eli helping Tatsuki and Orihime make a tiny snowman. Eli giggled as snow fell on his nose. In the kitchen, Oichi was baking a cake and making snacks for the kids. Mila was with her as well. She was wrapping her gift.
"So, how are you and Chad?" Oichi asked cutting up some fruit. "Fine. Unlike most men, he doesn't talk about himself, and he is gentle you know. Cater to not only me but to the kids. He is a rough gem, but he shines when he needs to." Oichi giggled. "Any kids of your own in the near future?" Mila blushed and turned her head. "We haven't talked about that. Don't be so noisy." Oichi laughed. "Sorry. I think you and Chad make such a wonderful couple. Bella needs a strong woman to show her that she can have independence on her own. Eli needs a strong male led to show him the ropes of being you know a man. Protect, shield, love. But…Chad isn't the type to…" "Yeah, I know. He made me angry with that a bit. How is Eli supposed to be a man if he is just letting him cry and cry over nothing? I'm not saying it's not okay for a man to cry but come on. Enough has got to be enough." Oichi smiles. "True. I did worry for a bit. The poor dear cries a lot but he had a rough year. We can let that slide. Now that you are with Chad, I notice he is smiling a lot more yea?" Mila leans on the island top. "True." Oichi smiles and pushes the cut-up fruit into separate bowls.
"The sex is amazing though." Mila says smirking. Oichi's cleared her throat. "R-Really now." "Oh yes." Mila leans back in her chair. "He can be very gentle with me and while I love that I love it more when it gets a bit…rough. To get his engine going, I have to take the lead. I might even wear something sexy just to get him started. I start with the teasing and then the soft kisses down those muscles of his and then I go slowly and painfully. Of course, it would be hard on me too but it's so worth it when that thin line snap and he pounds me into that soft mattress of his."
Oichi's face was bright red listening. "My…you sure go into deep details…" Mila laughed at her. "Still so innocent at heart. You can't tell me you don't have some juicy details with that wild cat." "I mean…yeah? It can get pretty heated and all." Mila smirked. "Well share? Don't leave me hanging." Oichi rubbed her cheek. "Oh, dear um…okay…I guess it was during my pregnancy with Cy." The door opened and Grimmjow walked in, brushing snow out his hair. He was carrying bags with Ichigo. "Hey babe, we're back." He called out walking into the kitchen. "Aw, too bad…" Mila said with a sigh. Grimmjow frowned and looked at Oichi's red face. "What the hell were you saying to her you ugly ass gorilla!" Mila slammed her hand down on the table. "Who the hell are you calling gorilla you stupid…" "No fighting!" Oichi says. "Kids. Birthday party. Fun!" Mila and Grimmjow huff out. He walked around the counter and put the bags on top. Ichigo chuckled and did the same. "I see they are still outside?" "Yes, enjoying themselves to the fullest." Grimmjow walked over to Oichi and wraps his arms around her and kiss her cheek making her giggle. "You want me to start making the cocoa?" "Oh! Yes, don't make it too hot and get the marshmallows ready." "Got it." He says pulling out cocoa, chocolate, cinnamon, graham crackers, and of course the marshmallows. "I cant wait to see their cute faces light up. Ichigo, can you go check on Flo and the babies?" "Sure thing."
Ichigo walked upstairs to the nursey. The door was cracked open. He knocked softly but got no answer. He opened it softly and walked in. Letting out a soft chuckle he saw Florina napping on the sofa that was in there with Cy, Reiki, Maki, and Sophie on the playmat sleep as well. He closed the door as quietly as he could and went back downstairs. Oichi pops her head up. "She, okay?" "Out like a light. So are the kids." "Aw! That sounds adorable. Those pregnancy naps are the best sometimes." The doorbell rings. "That must be Kokuto." Grimmjow went to the door and opened it. Kokuto smiled holding up a gift. "Sorry for being late." He walked in and walked into the kitchen. "Hey! Thanks for the invite." Oichi nods. "It's the least we can do. We made plans but had to cancel with the twins getting sick." "It's not an issue. My guy is out of town for a while so we would have had to cancel anyway. Hey there Ichigo." "What's up. Don't be weird around the kids." Kokuto chuckled. "Kids don't like me all that much anyway. I'm mainly here for the food and drinks." "Cuz you're a freeloader," Grimmjow says handing him a beer. "Call me what you will my friend." He says with a chuckle.
A little over an hour passed, and it was getting colder. The back door opened, and the kids filled in together. "It's so warm!" Emma yelled taking her coat out. "The snow so cold." Bella said shivering. Oichi walked over to them with her panda apron on. "Okay kids, let's get you out of those cold clothes and warm you up with some hot cocoa!" The kids grinned with excitement. "COCOA!" They yelled together and, in a frenzy, started to tear their clothes off. "Hold on a moment!" Orihime says trying to get their jackets, boots, hats, and scarf. Chad helped Eli and the twins while Tatsuki sighs helping Noah. Once they were out of their winter clothes, they piled into the living room sitting out the kid's table. Emma, Bella, and Kendric sat at one while Grayson, Ichika, Noah, Eli, and Kazui sat at the other. The twins were put in their play pin. Mila and Grimmjow walked out with trays of hot cocoa with marshmallows with cinnamon sprinkle on top with a side of graham crackers for the older kids. "Coco!" They yelled. Mila shook her head as she put small cups in front of the kids. "Don't spill it now." Grimmjow handed small mugs to Emma, Bella, and Kendric. Grayson frowned. "They cup big!" "When you stop dropping your cups maybe you will get a big one too." Grimmjow says sighing. Oichi chuckled and turned on cartoons. "Ma!" Naomi yelled out shaking the pin gates. She was staring at the cocoa. "Don't worry baby. Mama has something special for you and your sister okay." She says pulling out two sippy cups of warm milk. "Hopefully it might put you both to sleep." She hands them their sippy cups.
While the kids enjoyed their sweet drinks, Oichi made her way back into the kitchen. The cake was just about ready, and she had all the kid's snacks ready. Orihime walked in with Tatsuki. "Need a hand in here?" "Sure, but I have most of everything done." Tatsuki went to the fridge and grabbed a lite beer and sat at the island table. "It's rare to see you drink a beer." Oichi says with a worried look. Tatsuki frowns and takes a sip. "Me and Uryu separated, and I filed for divorce." "I'm sorry to hear that." "Don't be. It was bound to happen. We moved too fast, and we both agreed on that. I'm more worried about Noah. We moved into our new apartment the other day and he hasn't asked once where his dad is. I don't want to mess up what little relationship he has with him." Oichi cleaned her hands and walked over to her. She placed a hand on her shoulder. "Tatsuki. I think in my honest opinion that Noah will be affected by this but you and Uryu will work this out and Noah is a smart kid. Once it is explained in detail what happened between you two, he will understand why you both went your separate ways. Give it some time." Tatsuki nods holding her hand. "Yeah…sorry. I don't mean to be a downer." "No, don't feel that way. You all helped me when that whole situation with Renji went down, I'm always going to be there for you guys. If you feel like you need a good breather, just bring Noah over here. I don't mind watching him." Tatsuki smiles. "Thank you."
The day went on and Eli happily celebrated his birthday. They ate a large meal. Oichi had made him a panda bear cake with three candles on it. He blew them out with the help of Bella. He opened his gifts and a few Christmas gifts getting a lot of panda bear items. Toys, drawing supplies, blankets, teddy bears, and clothes. When gifts were done, they ended up putting their coats and snow gear back on and went back outside to play in the snow.
Christmas came and went, and the new year came and flew by. More changes had happened to the city. Without the wall around the center, it looked out of place within the entire city. Tacky almost. Grimmjow's company with the help of the center got things moving at a fast and readily pace while keeping up with the repairs and upgrades to Hueco Mundo. Like lighting, January had skipped right on by, and the month of February was here.
It was February 10th on a Saturday. At Oichi's shop, she was sitting in her bridal room, waiting for Jess to come out. Instead of coming back like, she said. She and her family had stayed in Scotland for an extra month and came back on the 2nd of February. Oichi would have thrown a fit, but she realized that it would be impossible to keep Jetter away from his nieces. Jess had brought her gifts back with her, but they all seem like something Jetter would give her. She accepted them half-heartedly.
It was three days before Jess's wedding, and they were doing last-minute fittings since Jess was about 5 months now. Oichi, Orihime, Izzy, Nel, and Tatsuki were sitting on the sofa waiting. Riruka had asked to not be in it. Oichi was swiping through her next few appointments in silence. It made the girls nervous. "Sis…you, okay?" Izzy asked. "I'm fine, just doing some work." "You seem mad." Orihime says. "I am fine. I'm not mad. I already said this before." Nel sighs. "Oichi…" Oichi sighs deeply. "I am not mad. Jeez! Can we move on? Yes, Jess left for two months but she's back, right? It's not a big deal." Tatsuki crossed her arms. "True…but you seem upset about it in December." "Yeah, because I missed my niece's 1st birthday and Jetter didn't take into any account that we already had plans. I'm not mad at Jess, I'm mad because that self-center prick doesn't care who he must walk on before doing something." The girls glanced at each other. "Look, can we just drop it? Before I actually get mad?" Oichi says go back to scrolling through her tablet.
"I'm stepping out!" Jess says excitedly. They looked up on the small stage and saw Jess walk out from the back. She was wearing a beautiful gown with a beaded swirl lace applique top, A v-cut back with dots and stars. The girls smiled at her as she twirled carefully with her belly. "You look amazing even while pregnant!" Orihime says. Jess blushed and looked at Oichi with a look of approval. Oichi smiled softly. "She's right. You look quite beautiful, Even Ulquiorra will have to show emotion on your big day." Jess smiled brightly. Oichi held up her shoes. "I know you don't like wearing heels while you're pregnant, so I got you these flats to match the dress. Do you feel tightness anywhere? Don't need you passing out." Jess giggled. "Nope! This is perfect. You did an amazing job!" Oichi kept her smile. "Go on and change out then, Izzy your up for the bridesmaid dress." Izzy hops up. "Cool!"
Moments later, Jess walked out wearing a light gray maternity dress with black flats. She sat down beside Oichi as one of the workers brought a glass of lemonade to her. "Thank you." Jess says sipping it down. She looked over at Oichi would was into her work. She frowned slightly and rubbed her belly. "…Ulquiorra was upset with me to…he wanted to come home after Christmas…but uncle was so persisted. Nova had a good time and I thought that was most important. Ulquiorra just kind of kept to himself. He stayed in the garden for the most part and did work from there and would rarely join us for family dinner." Oichi stops working for a second. "That would make sense. Ulquiorra doesn't look like the time to just fall in line when he is told to do so by someone he doesn't care about or respect. He could have said no to going but he did anyway. Be happy that he didn't complain. If it was Grimmjow he'd just talk trash all day every day until he was forcibly kicked out." Jess giggled a bit. "So. Your not mad that we came back two months later?" "Nothing to be mad about. You said you came back, and you did." Oichi says as Izzy walked out.
She was wearing a white and gray strapless dress with a sweetheart open back and matching flats. She twirls. "How do I look?" "Cute!" Orihime says. "Adorable!" Nel says with a smile. "Flat-chested." Tatsuki said making Izzy gasps. The girls laughed at this. When Izzy was done, the rest of them went to try their dresses on. Oichi got up and went over to tuxes for Ulquiorra and his groomsmen. They had their fitting yesterday. His tux was light purple along with the groomsmen and ring bearer who would be Kendric. Bella was going to be the flower girl and she would be wearing a cute light purple dress with white lining at the bottom. She let out a small yawn. She had been up for some late nights doing adjustments. Looking down at her own ring she sighs mentally. 'I wonder when it's a good day for us to get married. Hell, I wouldn't mind if we just get hitched right now.' She giggled to herself. 'No, there would be far too many angry people for that.' She blushed slightly. 'To be married to Grim. I can't help but to be excited for that day to come.'
When the last repair was made, the girls left going their separate way. Jess and Oichi stayed at the shop. They were going to get a spa treatment later that day. Nel was waiting in the parking lot when her car pulled up with Nnoitra in it. Sophie was in the back within her car seat and Grayson was beside her sleeping. Nnoitra got out. "Are you done?" Nel nods. "Yup! I'm all fitted. Thank you for picking me up." Her phone starts to ring. She answers it as she gets into the car. "Hello?" "Nel…H-Hey…" "Tesra? Is that you?" Nel turns to Nnoitra who frowned. "Yea. Sorry I haven't been home in a while." "Oh no, you are fine. Are you okay?" "Yes, um…I hate to ask but is there a way I can get a ride?" "A ride?" Nnoitra took the phone from her. "No, we aren't giving your perverted ass a ride. Delete this number and never show your face in front of us again." "Master? W-What are you saying? I…I just wish to come home." "You don't have a damn home to come to. Wherever you are, stay there. I don't want your disgusting habits to rub off on my daughter." "But my stuff. In my room? Can I at least get those?" "HA! No. I threw those out the first two days you left." "You…what?" "You heard me. You are no longer welcome to in our house."
"Master no! Wait! T-That isn't fair! I have done everything for you! EVERYTHING! How could you throw me out for that woman! Was I not good enough for you! Please sir, I…I will do anything for you please don't abandon me! Please!" Nnoitra rolled his eyes. "I'm a married man with a kid now. I don't have time for broken toys anymore. If your that damage, why don't you just off yourself in an alley or something." He hangs up. Nel frowns. "Why did you say that? What if he does that!?" "If he does, he does. If he doesn't, he can find life elsewhere, but not with us." Nel sighs. "You are unbelievable sometimes…"
Tesra looked down at the phone with tears in his eyes. Szayel chuckled. He was sitting down reading a book in his hideout. "Looks like your master has truly tossed you to the side. How sad." Tesra bit his lip. "No…he can't leave me…I swore I would stay by his side." "You don't have what he wants." Szayel says in a bored tone now, flipping a page in his book. "That brute has always loved women. You were just a simple one-night stand and nothing more." Tesra put his hands over his face. "Why…why is this happening to me…" "Why? That is an excellent question. The answer is because of one person. It was because of that everything came tumbling down. If they would have never got involved, then you could have still been by Nnoitra's side and Nel would have kept being a footnote to him." Tesra cried in his hands. Szayel closed his book and got up. He grabbed Tesra's hair and pulled it back. "I told you that I could help you. All you need to do is one simple thing. It's so easy that even if you mess it up, my plans will still work. Do you want your life with Nnoitra back?" Tesra nods. "Then listen carefully to what I am about to say."
On the morning of February 14th, Jess was in the bridal room looking at herself in the mirror. She takes a deep breath as Oichi walks up in her bridesmaid dress. The limo is waiting sis…and your uncle is pestering everyone." Jess chuckled. "He wants Ulquiorra to take the Mikcloud name. He told him, no but in his normal blank fashion you know." Oichi shakes her head. "Seriously that man. Mama has Nova and everyone should be at the venue by now." Jess nods and takes Oichi's hand. She holds her belly. "I never thought I would be getting married while being pregnant. I thought that was what the honeymoon was for and speaking of that are you sure you are fine with watching Nova?" "What kind of question is that. Why would I say no to watching her? We are going to have the party we never got to throw." Jess giggled as they walked out of her shop to the awaiting Limo. The driver opened the door and helped her in. Inside the limo, Tatsuki, Orihime, Nel, Izzy, and Bella were sitting down laughing. Jess slide over to the middle and Oichi sat beside her. The diver closed the door and got into the seat and drove off.
Jess and Ulquiorra were having their wedding near an opening in the forest that overlooked the river. There was a large platform with a wooden barrier. A purple curtain with white flower petals and clear jewels was connected to four pillars that were standing over the podium. Down the aisle what white flower petals and large vases of white flowers. There were white couches down on both sides for the groom and bride. Most of Jess's family had flown down from Scotland and filled the first few rows of her side. Frank oversaw playing the wedding song and in charge of the food per Jess's request. There was also a priest from the Mikcloud line to wed them both.
In the back near the forest entrance, Ulquiorra, Grimmjow, Ichigo, Ben, and Mikey were getting ready to go upfront. Grimmjow sighs. "Who said I was your best man? I don't even like you." Ulquiorra fixes his cuffs. "Jess did all the picking. I just paid for what she wanted." "Such a sus…" Grimmjow says. Ichigo shakes his head. "You seen Jess's family out there? I thought they would be snobs like Jetter, but they seem pretty cool." Mikey yawns. "You can tell they are from nobility though. They got that look in their eyes, but it doesn't seem like they look like the families around here. You know, like letting money and power go to their head?" Yoshiro pouts. "Hey, we aren't all like that…" "At one point you were. Until Izzy knocked you down a peg."
Kendric tugged on Grimmjow's leg. Grayson was supposed to be the ring bearer, but he had caught a cold and was staying home with Shelia and Amanda along with baby Sophie. Nnoitra and Harribel were at work covering for Grimmjow and Ulquiorra. Ben nudged Mikey. "So, tell the truth, are you and Harribel dating?" They glanced at him. He sighs and shrugs. "I'm not supposed to tell anyone because of her three women dogs but yes. We started dating under the radar. We try not to make it seem too obvious. Don't go telling everyone though." "Hey man if you want to risk your life for her then go for it. I ain't stopping you." Grimmjow says as Ulquiorra nods in agreement. Grimmjow looked down at Kendric who was yawning. "I'm tired…." "I know bud, but hopefully this won't take too long, and we can get something to eat." Kendric smiles. "Food?" "He is so like Oichi. Getting excited over food." Ichigo says. Chad walked over. "Hey, Jess and the others are pulling up. Everyone is waiting." Grimmjow sighs. "Well, Ulquiorra it's your last chance to run." Ulquiorra gave him a blank look before walking to the alter." "You are such a dumbass." Ichigo says.
The limo pulled up soon. The driver got out and helped the women out the door. Jess got helped last right as her uncle walked over. He smiled brightly at her. "My beautiful niece. You look just as lovely as your mother did when she got married. She was glowing just like you are." Jess smiled with a blushing face. "Thank you, uncle." Jetter looked at Oichi with the same smile. "Little Oichi, you look…" Oichi kept walking ignoring him completely. He frowned. "I see she's still mad…" Jess sighs.
Oichi smiled looking at Kendric. "Aw Kenny look how cute you are! I could snuggle you all day." Kendric's face turned red, and he rubbed his arm shyly. Bella walked with her flower girl basket. "Kenny looks handsome!" Kendric looked at her and blinks. "Bella looks cute." She gasps and blushed. "R-REALLY!?" She said a bit too loudly. "Aw!" The girls said cueing at them. "Ugh, you are all being so dramatic," Grimmjow says. They heard the piano music start. "Time to get this show on the road." Oichi says.
She hooked her arm with Grimmjow. "Ready honey?" "I guess, mine as well get used to this since we are going to be doing the same thing." Oichi giggled as they walked down the aisle first. All eyes were on them. "Mama!" Oichi heard Naomi yell. She turned to Ulquiorra's side to see Shunsui holding her and Alisha up for them to see. Their eyes were sparkling. "So cute and so loud. She gets that from you." Grimmjow chuckled. "Good."
Next was Orihime and Ichigo. Kazui who was sitting with the kids clapped. "Hi Mama!" He yelled. Ichigo shot him a look and he quickly covered his mouth. Orihime laughed along with a few of the people in the seats. Following them were Ben and Nel. "Nnoitra couldn't make it?" "Nope had to work. I'd rather him do that than watch over the kids." She says rolling her eyes. Ben chuckled. Next was Izzy and Yoshiro. "Next in line!" They heard Yoruichi call out. They were shocked to even see her there. Eyes were quickly on them making both of their faces go tomato red. "Stupid sister…" Yoshiro whispered. Lastly was Mikey and Tatsuki who didn't say too much.
Bella and Kendric walked down together, Bella was throwing flower petals. "Flowers! Wedding!? More flowers!" She called out throwing them out. Chuckles rings out through the crowd as Kendric followed behind her silently.
In the back, Jetter put the vail over Jess's head and placed a hand on her belly. "Your mother would have been proud of you. Standing up to me and leaving out to find yourself a life. I may not approve of that boy but, if he makes you happy, I am happy." Jess smiles behind the veil. "Thank you, uncle, and please do not make a scene. Ulquiorra doesn't want the last name and I agreed to take his." Jetter chuckled. "I know, I was doing a little teasing. He is going to be my nephew-in-law after all." Jess sighs. "You men…"
The song changed, and everyone stood up. Danni held Nova up high. "Make sure you see how pretty your mama is." Nova looked a little confused.
Jetter held his arm out and Jess took it. They walked down the aisle as Frank played beautifully. Pictures started to snap as Jess and Jetter walked down the aisle gracefully and elegantly. "You can tell she is from the nobility," Nel whispers to Oichi. Nova's eyes widen seeing Jess. "Ooooo! MAMA PER PER!" She screamed out. Jess smiled brightly hearing her daughter scream out but right now she was happier to see the look on Ulquiorra's face. His eyes were just as wide, and he couldn't stop staring at her. His usual blank look was full of warmth in her eyes, and it made her heart do flips.
As they make it to the priest the music dies down. Ulquiorra held out his hand and Jess giggled as she takes it. Jetter looked at him. "You better take good care of my niece or else…" Ulquiorra paid him no mind. His eyes never leaving Jess. "Oh, hurry up and sit down you boring bag of bricks! We came to see a wedding, not you!" Danni called out. His side of the family chuckled at Jetter's embarrassing face as he quickly went to take a seat. The priest clears his throat. "Family, friends, we are gathered here today to witness the union between this man and woman. They say love is found in the strangest of places. It is a powerful emotion that can bring even the opposite of two together. On this day we are here to celebrate the love of these two and welcome their hands in matrimony." He smiles at Jess and Ulquiorra. "Marriage is perhaps the greatest and most challenging adventure of human relationships. No expensive or fancy ceremony can create your marriage; only you can do that, and you do that through love and patience; through dedication and perseverance; through talking and listening, helping and supporting and believing in each other; through tenderness and laughter; through learning to forgive, learning to appreciate your differences, and by learning to make the important things matter, and to let go of the rest. What this ceremony can do is to witness and affirm the choice you make to stand together as life mates… as partners…as two separate beings thinking as one. Now it seems like the groom has written his vows. You may start when you are ready."
Jess's eyes and everyone else's eyes widen at his. 'I thought we weren't doing vows…' "Jess…Jess!" Oichi whispers, snapping her out of her mini trance. She smiles and hands her bouquet to Oichi. She turns back and holds both of Ulquiorra's hands, excited at what he was going to say. Ulquiorra lets out a small sigh. "…Jessica…" Just hearing him call her full name sent sparks up her spine. She wasn't sure if that was her excitement or her hormones kicking in. "For the longest time, I have felt alone. I was just a random kid on the street, and no one looked my way or cared why I was there. There was one spark of kindness that allowed me to get on my feet." He glanced at Oichi who gave him a small smile. "I thought that person would be the one to save me from my loneliness but, then you came, and you gave me…saved me…from being alone. I know I don't say it a lot, but I want to thank you for walking into my life. Thank you for putting up with the things I have done. Thank you for Nova and the child we are about to have. Thank you for loving me. I cherish and…I love you."
Tears were running down Jess's cheeks. He had never said 'I love you' out in the opening around so many people. She sniffed. "Ulq…I love you too. I love you so much." Oichi dabs her eye with a soft tissue. 'That was too sweet even for him.' The priest chuckled. "The rings?" Grimmjow pushed Kendric forward. He walked to Jess and Ulquiorra and held up the rings. Jess took his and Ulquiorra took hers. "Ulquiorra? Do you take this woman to be your wedded wife?" "I do." Ulquiorra says slipping the ring on Jess's finger. "Jessica. Do you take this man to be your wedded husband?" "I do!" She said quickly making the girls giggle. She put the ring on his fingers. "By the power vest in me, I now pronounce you Mr. and Mrs. Mikcloud Cifer." Jess gasps and Jetter was shocked. "But…" "I figured it was important to you, so I just decided to have them both." Ulquiorra says. Jess chuckled. "Is that right…" She glanced over to Jetter who's mouth had dropped open.
The priest chuckled at his look. "You may now kiss the bride." Ulquiorra grabbed Jess's veil and flipped it over. She smiled brightly as he wrapped his arms around her and kissed her gently. Everyone stood and clapped.
After the ceremony, everyone heads to the reception hall that was being rented out in the city. Jess and Ulquiorra had changed out of their wedding attire. It was starting to make Jess uncomfortable. She was wearing a light purple maternity dress with white flats. She was sitting at the table stuffing her face with Frank's food. Ulquiorra was beside her making sure she had everything. Nova was in his lap eating a cookie. On the dance floor, Oichi and Grimmjow were dancing with the others. He spends her around and brings her back in close. "You look pretty hot in this dress. Wanna slip away so I can help you take it off?" Oichi laughed. "Shut up…maybe later though." He grins at her.
Tatsuki was at the table feeding Noah some food when Mikey sat down beside her. "Hey, sorry about the whole thing with Uryu." "It's fine. It is what it is." She says. They saw Momo and Toshiro dancing together. "Cute." Tatsuki smiled and then turned to him. "Look, if you are trying to come over and flirt, I am not having it." Mikey chuckled. "No, nothing like that. I just didn't want to be with the happy couples while I was alone." "Mhm…don't try anything."
Danni had the twins in the booster seats as they ate food. She was holding Cyrus who was sleeping in her arms. Shunsui was looking at her in a daze. "You look so beautiful holding a baby." Danni turned her head slightly to hide the blush on her cheeks. "Oh, shut up. I'm just a grandma holding my grandchild." "Mhmm…you just pour out motherly instincts." He reached out and poked her belly. She slapped his hand away. "Keep it in your pants dear. We are at a wedding after all." Shunsui chuckled and kissed her cheek. "I bet you will be so sexy pregnant." Danni's heart flipped a beat and she instinctively hit Shunsui in the face, making him fall out of his chair. Naomi giggled while Alisha tilts her head. Danni cleared her throat. "Once again. We are at a wedding." She felt Cyrus move in her arms. He woke up and yawns. "Hey little man. Did your idiot grandpa wake you up?" She reached into his baby bag and pulled out a bottle of milk. Luckily, she did since he started to get fussy. "There, there, granny already has a bottle for you. Here you go." Shunsui rubs his face. 'Damn she is so sexy…'
As the time passed and after the cutting of the cake, it was time for Jess to throw her bouquet. She was standing in front of the DJ with her back turn. The girls were standing behind her. Oichi and Grimmjow had disappeared for a while. Nel was sitting by the twins and Orihime was cheering them on near the sideline. "Okay, everyone! Get ready!" She yelled. "3…2…1!" She yelled. Jess tossed the bouquet back. The women jumped up trying to get them, but it fell right into Izzy's hand. She blushed and turned back to Yoshiro who choked on his food. Yoruichi grins. "Hell yeah! I told you! Next in line! Danni sound the wedding bells!" Danni shook her head. "Leave the kids alone." Jess giggled and clapped. "Congratulations Izzy!" Izzy sighs mentally putting on a smile.
Ulquiorra was leaning on the wall watching when Jetter walked up. "Ulquiorra…" He let out a sigh. "Will your annoyance ever stop?" Jetter frowns and shook his head. "I only wanted to come and congratulate you. I know that you will make Jess happy." He held out his hand. "I was only kidding about you adding the last name, but I am happy to have you as a nephew. If you need anything I am but a call away." Ulquiorra looked at his hand and held out his own. They shook hands. In the middle of the dance floor, Jess smiled at this.
It was the last week of February. It was raining and storming outside. Grimmjow was in his office, packing up his things. He had to come in early to sign off more paperwork. He finally got more people into the construction business and so far, all the projects they had to work on was getting some attention. The most challenging so far was constructing Soifon's underground base. They need to work with Mayuri for that. Right as he grabbed his coat, his phone rings. He picked it up to see Oichi was calling him. He answered.
"Hi, honey! How is work?" "Good, I just finished up the paperwork, so I'm heading home now. Did you need me to pick something up?" "Yes, um can you grab some juice, milk 2% low fat, some hamburger meat…I want to make something a bit different tonight." "Okay, just text me a list." "Gotcha…daddy! Daddy!" He heard Naomi yell. "Naomi sweetheart don't scream okay. Your brother is napping." Grimmjow chuckled. "I'm on my way home princess." He heard Naomi giggle and the pitter-patter of her feet running off. "I wish she get excited about me coming home. It's always you." Grimmjow laughed grabbing his umbrella. "Don't worry, I'm sure Cy is going to be all over you." "Mmm…I can't believe they will be two next month…this year went by so fast!" Grimmjow locked his office and walked out of the building. He put up his umbrella and heads to his car.
He unlocked the door when he saw someone walking toward him. "Hold on babe." Grimmjow raised his eyebrow as the person became clear. He frowned seeing Tesra looking nervous. He was soaked to the bones. "You look like shit." Tesra frowned looking down. "Master Nnoitra doesn't want me anymore…he threw my clothes away and changed the locks to the house. I have nowhere to go." He held himself. "So what? Sounds like a personal problem. No one told you to follow after him." Tesra bit his lip. "Can I stay with you for a couple of days?" "Fuck no. Get lost." "Honey…" "No, Oichi. I don't want him in our house. Don't try to be nice about this." He heard her sigh.

Grimmjow ran towards Tesra, and it made him panic. "S-Stay away from me!" Tesra screams pulling the trigger, with his eyes closed. The gunshot rang off. He heard something hard hit the ground. Opening one eye he gasps to see Grimmjow laying on the ground, face first. Blood started to slowly form around his body, mixing in the rain. Tesra sat down, dropping the gun. 'W-What did I…' He looked at his phone. "Grim! Grimmjow! Answer me! What was that noise!" He heard Oichi yelling. Gulping he got up and walked past Grimmjow's body. He grabbed his phone. "Grimmjow!" "…is dead…" There was silence. "W-What did you say!?" He heard her voice quiver. "He's dead…I lost something I love…now you will to…" He hangs up and drops the phone. He looks up into the rain sky and sighs out loudly. "Master…soon I will be back in your arms again. Just wait for me a little while longer."
